For clarity sake, I consider blurbs are up to 100 words, and drabbles anything less than 1000 words. Depending on the prompt, I’d respond with something 100ish to less than 1K words.

Keep your requests simple, please. The less room for creativity, the more difficult it is for me to come up with something! Personal flaw, I suppose. If it helps, I love a good trope or song fic, situational/quote/image prompts also welcome.

Hello gentle readers (bridgerton fan, anyone?)

As I have an interest in writing, and practice only helps, I figured I could write some blurbs and one-shots. Perhaps even some short stories. Primarily it wouldn't be my own characters, but as many other writers, add my own main character (y/n or a name), and create a storyline fitting.

1. i mainly write for she/her reader. i will do they/them reader. i might do he/him reader, but i'm not very good at it.

2. i always do y/n for imagines. i will take requests of course, but not with specific names. i try to have y/n be described as little as possible meaning no names and no specific traits. i want my writing to be able to let people imagine themselves.

3. if a celebrity or character is not listed as someone i write for, just ask! i can't promise i will write for everyone, but i will let you know!

A/N: Happy Valentine’s day y’all! Is anyone else excited for the supposed Office reboot?? I am. Help a girl out and get me an audition for it. Anyway….I hope you guys enjoy this little blurb! As will be the theme in most of my Jim stuff, Pam and him never got together. I am a HUGE Jam fan, and I don’t even want to mess with the idea of them breaking up, so I just write my stories as if they never actually happened. Obviously he had his crush on her, but they never got together. Makes my life easier, and my heart feel a little less like I’m betraying them. I hope you guys don’t mind that I changed the request a bit, but I thought this might be a little bit different! Enjoy!!

Word Count: 1.2 K

Summary: Y/N and Jim have been together just shy of a year, but he has never introduced her to his coworkers. Because of this, the people of Dunder Mifflin Scranton are starting to believe she doesn’t exist. After work one night, the office decides to head to Poor Richards for a drink, and Michael begs Jim to invite his girlfriend. Sick of his teasing, Jim agrees.

Jim pulled into the lot of Poor Richards, but once he had turned off the car, Jim made no move to get out. You looked at him in concern, but knew he would tell you what was bothering him when he was ready.

“Listen, Y/N,” he started turning to you, before finishing his sentence, “I want you to understand that the people I work with, especially Dwight and Michael might be kind of….”

“Over-bearing? Insensitive? Obtuse? Yeah Jim, I know. I may have never met these characters before, but I feel like I’ve known them my whole life. I’m sure I can handle it. But if you really don’t want to do this, we don’t have to. Your life outside of the office is just that, your life. You don’t have to introduce me to them if you’re worried about it so much. I won’t be upset.”

Jim smiled sadly at you and cupped your cheek, running his thumb gently across your smooth skin, “You know I’m not embarrassed by you. I love you so much. It’s them I’m worried about. They can be unpredictable. And I’d hate for this to come between us.”

“Jim, this is your career. And it’s important for me to at least attempt to fit in with your coworkers. Seriously, honey. Don’t worry about me. Let’s just go in there, have some drinks, and let the chips fall where they may.”

Your care-free attitude was something that Jim had always loved about you. You had been in an accident when you were a child that left you with severely reduced hearing. You weren’t completely deaf, but you had to wear hearing aids and read lips to understand what people around you were saying. And as you had grown into an adult, your speech had become louder and slightly muddied, which was what had Jim worried.

You both got out of the car, and Jim waited for you at the hood with his hand stretched to yours. You smiled warmly at him and interlocked your fingers with him, walking to the entrance of the pub and taking a deep breath before walking through the door that Jim had held open for you. When you got to the main room, a large group in the center turned their attention toward you and Jim, and a cacophony of cheers and greetings followed. You smiled and waved at them, and Jim did the same.

“Everybody, I want you to finally meet my girlfriend, Y/N. Y/N, meet everybody!” Jim introduced you to his coworkers, then pulled out a chair for you before excusing himself to the bar to get you and himself a drink. 

“Hi. I’m Kevin,” a man with slow speech and a receding hairline reached across the table to shake your hand. You took his large hand in your small one and shook it enthusiastically. 

“Kevin! So nice to meet you. Jim has told me so much about you.” You turned to see Pam slide into the chair directly across from you and you smiled at her. Pam Beesley was the only Dunder Mifflin employee you had met before this evening. You knew about Jim’s crush on her before you met, and despite that, you and the other woman got along quite well. In fact, you two had spent a bit of time together without Jim.

“Hi Y/N! It’s so nice to see Jim finally let you out of your cage,” she said to you with a wink.

Before you could reply, Jim sat down beside you, handing you Y/F/D. You smiled at him gratefully and kissed his cheek before looking back to Pam.

“Yeah, we came to an agreement that I should be able to see the light of day at least once a week. You know, just so I don’t lose my vision too.” You giggled at your joke at your own expense and Pam gave you a small smile in return. You had developed a sense of humor about your condition a long time ago. It made it easier and assured other people that it wasn’t easy to offend you.

“There she is! I was beginning to think she wasn’t real. She’s much hotter in person than how you described her, Jim.” You turned to see a man with wide-set eyes and a goofy smile on his face. This must be Michael Scott. Jim’s boss and a man with no filter. Jim had told you many stories about him and the awfully awkward things he said around the office. 

“That’s…not necessary to say, Michael,” Jim started before you mumbled that it was okay, turning to fully face the smiling man.

“You must be Michael, I’m Y/N. It’s so nice to finally meet you! I’ve heard lots of things about you as well. Jim really loves working with you.” You said, smiling and looking at Jim lovingly. He looked down at you and returned your smile. 

“Ummm, Jim? Jim? Not to come off as insensitive or whatever, but didn’t you say she was like deaf or something. Because you speak so well for someone who can’t hear! I'm really blown away. How do you do that?” You then noticed that Kevin was holding his hand over his ear, which could only mean one thing, Michael was yelling so you could hear him. You heard Jim start to defend you before you could even process what Michael had really said.

“Michael. Come on man! Are you kidding me? I asked you to be sensitive about it. You really think that that’s-“

“Jim. It’s okay. Really it’s okay,” you put your hand on his knee, indicating that he should calm down and let you handle this, “Michael, I’m going to assume you’ve never met someone who is hard of hearing so I’m going to show you some grace and teach you. I’m not deaf. You don’t need to yell. Just speak clearly and audibly. I speak well because I’m not deaf. I’ve learned how to use other indicators in my body aside from the audial to know what my voice sounds like to others. Do you understand?” 

Michael looked at you, half embarrassed and half impressed. Everyone else around the table had gotten relatively quiet so they could listen in on what was going on at your end of the table. After another moment of awkward silence, a woman with red hair, who you could only assume was Meredith Palmer, stood up and yelled loud enough for all of Scranton to hear, “Yeah, Go Y/N! You show ‘em who’s boss!”

You laughed loudly along with everyone else as the conversations continued and raised your glass in thanks, before turning to Jim;

“See, I think I can handle myself with your coworkers. I think they kind of like me.”

He nodded in agreement before kissing your head softly, “Yeah I think you’re right about that. But you know, I’m always here for you. If you need it.”

You kissed him lightly on the lips and whispered an “I love you” before looking at Pam and swapping stories about life. Jim kept his eye on you for the rest of the night, but you were right, you didn’t need him to protect you. But he knew that he’d always be right by your side anyway, just in case.
