Rules, kinks and favorite idols/groups
I've had this blog for a while but finally I'm not busy enough to keep it active. So there are the rules:
Idols must be 18 or older (obviously).
Sex must always be consensual.
Besides rape, I also avoid stuff like scat, vomit and necrophilia.
I don't write G!P smuts. I allow for the use of strap-ons but not actual penises for idols that have vaginas.
I keep note on every request and will select a few if the story fits. All smuts will feature at least one female idol and a male reader.
My favorite fantasies are: anal (my #1), breeding, creampie, dirty talk dom/sub, facefucking, morning sex, poolside sex, public sex, rough sex, spanking and titfucking. As you can see, I'm on the rougher side of the spectrum and my smuts veer into the porny side but can do romantic stuff if asked to.
Now on to the idols.
I have idols spawning from 2nd to 4th generation as my biases, my all time top 10 is, ordered by their groups: AOA Seolhyun, Blackpink Jennie, Dreamcatcher Yoohyeon, Girl's Day Yura, f(x) Krystal, Ive Wonyoung, Iz*one/Soloist Eunbi, SNSD Yuri, Twice Jihyo and Twice Momo (and RV Seulgi but I don't write smuts about her for finding her too cute to lewd).
Here are the idols from each group, order alphabetically, I can write smuts of. Inside their groups, the idols are ordered by my personal preference.

-Pesadillas ¿no?
- ¿Vas a irte?

“You haven’t laughed in a long time, and I guess I was staring ‘cause I forgot how that looked like.” (Ahtae ?? Or jibam?)
“I don’t smile when you’re sad.” Bomi admits with a small pout. She had noticed Jimin being a bit more quiet than he usually was, which was saying a lot since she rarely spoke to anyone at all. And while she was never the type of girl to really smile all that often, her smiles had definitely been lacking in the days since she noticed Jimin’s shift in mood. “You smile, I smile. So smile, okay?”

ONE. pov.
The faint golden glow of the early morning barely touches Jin as he rolls over to press his lips to your shoulder, where your sleep shirt has slipped down a bit. You’re still seemingly asleep, soft snores leaving your parted lips and your alarm hasn’t gone off yet.
It always goes off at the most opportune times.
He presses himself closer to you, molding his hips to yours and shoving his hand up your faded purple sleep shirt to palm your tits. You sigh happily, pushing back against him in your sleep.
Jin knows you’re close to waking up, if the quickness of your breaths is any indicator. You smile with your eyes still closed as he drops feathery kisses to your cheeks, your chin, your neck.
“I know you’re awake,” Jin rolls his eyes, his voice hoarse from just waking up.
“I’m sleeping,” You mumble, turning towards him and wrapping your arms around his broad shoulders. Jin only laughs airily, dipping his head for a kiss to your lips.
“Wake up then,” Jin breathes. You can feel his half hard cock tucked in his boxers against your thigh already and you hum. It only takes a simple brush for you to buck your hips towards him, centering your bare core to his cock.
You hadn’t bothered with panties last night, after he had fucked you back to sleep. Despite the faint ache in between your legs, you wrap your leg around his hip and pull him on top of you.
“Thought you were sleeping.”
“My annoying husband woke me up,” You say, eyes still slick with sleep. Arousal rolls in your belly when he grinds into you lightly.
The pink haze of sleep begins to slip away as Jin kisses you deeply, with more urgency than before.
“Had to give you something to remember me by today,” Jin whispers, “It’s Monday, after all.”
“Don’t remind me,” You groan, rubbing your eyes, “This week is gonna fucking suck, baby.”
“Shh,” Jin says, pressing a finger to your lips, “We have, like, thirty minutes before you have to start getting ready for work.”
“Better make it worth it, babes,” You laugh and he squeezes your thighs. He raises his head, looking at you like you’re a meal and like you’re his queen.
His lips are heated against your skin, your giggles turning into soft moans of his name quickly.
“Jin, baby,” You say, voice sounding muffled to your ears, “I have to be at work early-”
“Can’t even appreciate my wifey’s sexy bod,” Jin grumbles and you swat his shoulder, “God, I could eat this pussy out all day-”
“Saying sexy like that isn’t sexy,” You complain, “And you’re not doing anything, you’re just breathing on my clit- gonna give me an embolism-”
One look from Jin, a kiss and a few rolls of your clit with his thumb has you wet against his fingers- the man, your husband of three years, knows your body even better than you know yourself. He knows you better than you know yourself.
His mouth slips over your inner thighs, his hands tight around your hips to hold you in place as you buck your hips impatiently for friction. Jin is so handsome in the morning (well, he’s handsome all the time), but something about the puffiness of his eyes and the pink of his cheeks from sleep always has your pussy fluttering.
Your husband of three years, and your boyfriend for six years before that- he always has your pussy fluttering and your heart soaring.
Jin swipes his fingers across your glossy folds, glistening just for him, and presses his mouth to your sensitive clit. His hands wander, squeezing your tits fondly, roaming over the hidden bites from the prior night easily. You widen your legs and carelessly throw them over his shoulders.
“Jin,” You whine, “I want you, stop teasing me-”
“‘M not,” Jin says, voice dripping with thick, honeyed desire, “I just, you know how much I love this pussy.”
“Yeah, you love my pussy more than you love me,” You tease, “Please-”
You cut yourself off with a sharp moan as his tongue flicks over your clit teasingly. Hooded eyes meet his dark eyes as his tongue delves deeper into your wet folds, and your thighs quiver almost instantly once he rubs your clit with his thumb.
You’re so sensitive. It’s how he likes you best. (He likes you sensitive, and he likes you in that tight dark green dress you’re planning on wearing to work today.)
Jin loves you in the morning, with the taste of the night before in between your legs. You end the night with him and start your morning with him- it’s all he wants. All he wants is something to remember him by during your inevitably busy days.
“I love you,” Jin mumbles, “My gorgeous girl. Sound so pretty when you cum in my mouth…”
He loves teasing you, loves making you beg for him. And this time is no different. A string of curses fly from your mouth, your back arching when you beg his name in broken noises.
“Good morning to me,” You giggle lazily, pulling him in for a kiss.
“Good morning to my pretty wifey,” Jin hums and you push him on his back, straddling his hips.
Yeah. It’s your favorite type of morning.
TWO. love language.
“It’s Friday,” Jin mumbles, wrapping his arms around your waist as you pour two mugs of coffee for you both, “The weather outside is awful. You’ll get blown away, just stay home baby.”
You’re already dressed and ready to go into the office, eyeliner sharp and lipstick perfectly placed, but one look outside of the window has you reconsidering. You had already decided that you’d stay home and work from the dining table or the couch but you enjoy seeing Jin grovel a little too much. So you let him.
“When did you become a meteorologist,” You mutter, threading your fingers through his and squeezing.
Your calendar today is quite light. Only a few meetings, a few deliverables for you to provide. You’ve already decided that you’ll stay home and shower Jin with at much attention as you can, but he pouts against your neck.
“That’s the dream.”
“I thought the dream was being my husband.”
“That comes in a close second to being a meteorologist, and I think there’s a one hundred percent chance that you’ll be staying home today and giving me cuddles.”
You roll your eyes at him but can’t resist the smile that tugs at your lips. Turning in his arms and handing him a cup of coffee with a dash of milk and caramel coffee creamer, you lean forward for a kiss.
A crack of thunder sends you jumping in his arms and yelping, nearly dropping the mug to the floor but Jin grabs it before you can.
He knows you better than you know yourself.
“I’m staying home, baby,” You say, “It’s not worth it. And I have a light day today so maybe…” You trail a finger over the thick vein in his neck and over his chest with a sly grin.
“So maybe we can take a nap together at noon,” Jin finishes your sentence for you with a gleam in his eyes.
“...Or that.”
Working from the dining table whenever you worked from home made you feel close to Jin. He’d flit around you, pecking you with kisses or a squeeze of your shoulder whenever he passed you, or telling you to get up off your ass if you’ve been sitting too long. But mostly, you just enjoy his company and working from home always puts you in a good mood.
Even if you have a designated office in the cozy townhouse you’ve been living with Jin in for two years now, you prefer the dining table for work from home days. You do use the office, if you really need to. But those days are few and far between.
You have about an hour before you have to log in, so you decide to make breakfast for Jin while he waters the plants upstairs. Usually, it’s Jin making you breakfast- he always makes it a point to have breakfast with you before you leave for work.
You’re happy to have a man who doesn’t resent you for being the breadwinner, as your family and friends had cautioned you of years ago. You had scoffed at them then, as if they knew anything about you or Jin. He’s happy to support you and be your biggest cheerleader and you’re his biggest cheerleader.
You had met in college, studying the same discipline and where you were passionate about it, he wasn’t. He had such a passion for life that was refreshing, and he brought out the best in you. Jin made you laugh, he made you love, and you both just worked so well together. Even on your off days, you both just knew each other.
You cut your avocado egg toasts in half and pour a glass of mango pineapple smoothie (Jin’s favorite) for both of you.
“Hey, honey,” You call when he pokes his head around the corner and see his fluffy purple house slippers, “Breakfast is ready.”
Jin kisses you in appreciation, pulling you closer to him by your waist. “Girl of my dreams making me breakfast, huh?”
“Shut up,” You swat his chest, “It’s too gross to take Bomi out, right?”
“Yeah, my baby is still sleeping in her bed,” Jin says, yelping when you pinch his waist.
“Your baby?”
“Oh, fine, our baby,” Jin rolls his eyes, “Was gonna take her to see Jimin and baby Jia today. Fucking storm…”
“Maybe they can come over this weekend, when it passes,” You hum, “We can make those lemon bars she likes.”
“We can do brunch with them? Have some margaritas and mojitos,” Jin suggests, tugging your hand to join him at the breakfast bar.
“I’m sure Sunmi would appreciate that,” You reply.
You both look up to the ceiling when you hear Bomi trotting out of her bed and at the top of the stairs. You stand at the bottom with open arms and she bounds towards you eagerly, nuzzling you with her soft nose and licking you everywhere.
“Hi Bomi, baby,” You coo and scratch her head, “It’s raining outside, we can’t go to the dog park today. You can hang out with Mommy and Daddy inside.”
She only looks at you with big, light brown eyes and pants in excitement. She slides out of your arms and stands in front of Jin, only to jump and cuddle into his lap.
“You’re getting so big, Bomi,” Jin whispers, “Gonna tackle me over someday.”
“She could take you,” You tease and sit next to him, tickling Bomi’s jaw. You put some dog food into her bowl (that Jin made himself in his ceramics class that he took on a whim and also painted) and pour some water for her in her water bowl.
Bomi immediately jumps off to have her own breakfast. You can vividly remember when you and Jin had both fallen in love with her at the adoption shelter, almost three years ago now. She had seemed so scared, and you and Jin had approached her cautiously. You knew she had an instant connection (like you had, years ago) with Jin when she touched his paw and saw stars in his eyes.
You brought her home less than two weeks later, and she’s been your baby ever since.
Jin nudges your foot playfully. You nudge him back.
“Got a long day today?” Jin murmurs after a bite of avocado toast. You wipe away stray avocado with your thumb and lick it for yourself.
“Nah, should be done around two or three,” You reply. Jin beams at you and kisses your temple.
“Don’t let me keep you,” You say airily, “I know you like working out in the mornings. I put protein powder in your smoothie.”
He rolls his eyes. As if you could come in the way of his meticulously crafted routine. Today, he was planning on working on the story he was writing, working out, and making lunch and dinner. He would be doing a little more, if the weather wasn’t working against him.
Jin loves the flexibility of his life, honestly. He loves being able to do the things he loves, while you do the things you love. And if that means him not technically having a stable job, and you bringing home most of the money, that’s more than okay with him. Besides, you’ve both come a long way from any insecurities that that might have brought.
He loves that all of his joy for life also comes with you by his side.
That’s what over ten years of being together will do.
***
“Baby,” You call from the couch, “Come here. I miss you.”
Your meetings for the day have finished and you have finished the bulk of your work, leaving the majority of your day free to finish up loose ends and send a few emails. This week has been filled with many early mornings and late nights, leaving both you and Jin yearning for the weekend and for more time with each other.
He comes to you with wide, puppy eyes and you beckon him forward. “Sit with me, honey. Please?”
Jin leans towards you, chin on your shoulder and chest to your back as he watches you type away. Your shoulders instantly relax with his touch and the comforting scent of his rain scented shower gel. He’s still warm from his shower and he wraps an arm around your waist.
It’s your favorite place to be.
“Is that woman being annoying,” Jin asks, “The one on your project for that document change you gotta make?”
“Nah, she’s been out this week,” You mutter, “I gotta have a heart to heart with her next week and tell her to stop railroading me every chance she gets.”
“Damn you’re so sexy when you get all mean,” Jin shivers dramatically and you laugh against him.
“‘M not mean,” You reply absently, clicking ‘send’ on an email and messaging your boss to have a good weekend. Bomi has woken up from her nap and joins you both on the couch, curling in your lap and dwarfing over your laptop screen.
“Bomi,” You chuckle and rub her back, “Silly girl.”
She only looks at you with wide eyes, happy that she has your attention. It reminds you a little bit of how Jin looks at you when he catches your eye. Jin leans over and takes Bomi from you and cuddles here in his lap. He turns around so his back is pressed against yours and his legs outstretched the other way. The warmth of him against you is welcome as you finish up your emails and sign off for the weekend as quickly as you can.
“Okay,” You murmur, “‘M done with work. Wanna take Bomi out for a walk with me? Looks like the storm stopped for the most part…”
“Sure, maybe I’ll finally get my kiss in the rain.”
“Yeah, and we’ll both get pneumonia,” You chastise him, patting his cheek, “Has Jungkook been getting in your head lately? Mr. Romance over there.”
Jin gasps in offense, “More like I’m getting in his head. Everything he knows about romance is because of me.”
“Okay, baby. Whatever you say.”
THREE. honeymoon avenue.
“I have two weeks of vacation left,” You muse, running your hands through Jin’s hair, “We should go to Phuket. We’ve been meaning to for years…”
“They say November is the best time,” Jin replies, peering over to the computer. Where you’re currently looking up flights and hotels to Phuket.
“November is next week, Seokjin.”
“Okay, and? Spontaneity is the backbone of long-term relationships,” Jin says matter-of-factly and dodges the inevitable swat to his shoulder.
“I thought trust, love, and respect is the backbone of long-term relationships.”
“That too. But really, it’s the fact that my hot wife wants to take me, her even hotter husband on a romantic getaway-”
“We should go,” You murmur, already thinking about the clear, pristine waters and white, sandy beaches. Not to mention the food…
“Baby, will you text in the groupchat? Ask if anyone wants to go,” You say, bookmarking beaches and places to sightsee. You already have a growing list of hotels and AirBnb’s that you want to investigate further.
“Not everyone is as spontaneous as us, sweets,” Jin says, “Peasants.”
***
In the end, only you and Jin end up deciding to go to Phuket. It was too last minute for your friends, especially for your friends with young children.
It’s just you and Jin in Phuket for a week. You had decided to leave Bomi with the dog sitter, as she hated flying and was terrified of it.
By the time you both get settled in your Airbnb, you’re both bouncing off the walls with pent up energy.
Phuket isn’t ready for the storm that was you and Seokjin.
***
“Sweets, you ready for dinner?” Jin calls from the bedroom, leaning against the headboard of the bed.
“Five minutes!”
Jin rolls his eyes fondly, very well acquainted with how long it takes for you to get ready sometimes. Your eyeliner had to be just perfect, lipstick complimenting your eye makeup, your jewelry a statement but not obnoxious… The list goes on.
He scrolls on his phone impatiently, looking at the photos the dog-sitter sent of Bomi and then he lets his friends know what their plans were. They all excitedly ask for pictures and updates.
He’s already gotten quite tan since being here, and it’s only been four and a half days. Though most of the time during those four and a half days was spent at the beach, hiking, exploring, or sipping drinks at the beach bar.
Bliss. Seeing the way the sun glows on your skin and the way you beam at him without the stress of deadlines and responsibilities is a sight he’ll never tire of. If his photo album on his phone is anything to go by, it’s filled with candids of you and photos of you sprinkled in with the scenery and the food you’ve both been eating.
You’ll try anything once, and Jin will, too.
Five minutes go by.
“I’m hungry,” Jin whines, finally getting up and leaning against the doorframe. His throat goes a little dry when you look at him with wide eyes, in the middle of applying your false lashes.
“Two minutes, baby, I promise-”
“I should eat you instead,” Jin says, eyes raking over your figure brazenly. You’re wearing a tight red dress with thin straps, and a thin necklace that he had bought you for your most recent birthday sits around your neck.
“What a line,” You roll your eyes.
“It worked, didn’t it?” Jin says cockily, “Got you forever and always.”
“How romantic.”
***
You can’t deny the butterflies that you still get around Jin, especially when he looks at you like that over dinner. Like you’re the only thing in the entire world when his eyes are molten gold for you and you only.
You won’t deny that the way he calls you his wife in that low, raspy voice sends a rush of something curling in your belly. You’ll blame it on the third glass of sam song that you’ve had. Jin himself is on his third glass of mekhong. His ears and the apples of his cheeks are flushed red from the alcohol.
You want to pounce on him. Who does Seokjin think he is? His lips are bitten and a little red from chapstick. And from you kissing him before arriving at the restaurant for your reservation. The top two buttons of his shirt are undone, giving you a few of his collarbones and the necklace around his neck.
Your face feels hot. It’s probably the alcohol. Jin knows that look on your face. The one where you’re impatient. The one where you just want him and want him and want him.
He’ll take care of you. He always will.
***
“My pretty wifey,” Jin murmurs, face buried in your neck as he rocks into you slowly. The hot, slow glide of his cock burns in the best way, leaving you sated and wanting more at the same time.
“My gorgeous girl,” Jin says and you whine, clenching around him. Your legs wrap around his waist and he groans, dotting your skin in kisses. He’s all around you, coating you in a pillowy haze. Your lipstick stains his lips, fading on his neck and his glistening chest.
“Can’t believe you did this for me,” He groans, fingers ghosting over your bare, sensitive pussy. (Yes, you’d gotten a wax before vacation. As it had been a while, and you wanted to see Jin’s reaction.)
“Fuck, Jin,” You sigh. You feel a little dazed, a little airy. “Feel so fucking good. You’re so… big, always feel so fucking good.”
Your clothes are strewn about in various corners of the Airbnb, both of you too hasty and impatient to get your hands on each other after dinner and a short walk on the beach. Honestly, you would’ve fucked him out on the beach if he allowed you to. The way the moonlight hit his eyes just made your brain shut off and think lewd thoughts of only him.
You’ve cum at least three times now, and Jin shows no signs of stopping. Truthfully, neither do you- you can keep up with him and he can keep up with you. It’s part of what’s made you both work so well.
“Good, baby?” Jin mumbles. He doesn’t give you time to answer before gathering you in his arms and sitting you up. Your tits are plastered to his chest, and you can’t help but snake a hand in between you both and playfully twist his nipple. The angle of his cock in you is deeper than before and you struggle to stave off the need to cum.
“Yeah,” You say faintly.
“What’s on the agenda tomorrow?” Jin asks quietly, slowing and stopping his movements. You whine again when he stops moving inside of you.
“Shh, baby,” Jin says, “Just wanna be with you like this. What’re we doing tomorrow?”
“Seriously?” You grunt, trying to get some friction on your clit but he halts your movements with a large hand on your hips. You pinch his nipple hard and he yelps. “You wanna talk about our itinerary tomorrow when you’re balls deep inside me-”
“Yeah, I gotta plan ahead,” Jin snorts.
“Um,” You mumble, trying to gain your wits about you, “The market. A-and the distillery, and then…”
“And then?” Jin purrs in your ear, nipping your earlobe.
“And then the elephant sanctuary. Maybe Bangla road a-at night,” You reply, pressing your face into his neck.
“Good girl,” Jin breathes and you whimper into his skin, “My smart, wonderful, amazing wifey-”
“Wanna be your wife forever,” The words slip out of your mouth without you meaning to, as they usually do. Something about Jin calling you his wife like that sets you ablaze, makes you possessive for a man already yours.
“Good thing we’re married then, huh?” Jin jokes and you let out a breathless laugh.
“Baby,” You exhale, “Wanna cum. Wanna cum so bad, wanna feel my hubby’s cum-”
Jin groans into your neck, biting your clavicle lightly. “You’re so impatient,” He chides lightly.
“Will you move-”
“I told you to wait-”
“Fine, I’ll just,” You push him on his back roughly and press your palms to his chest and sigh happily when you finally get the friction you’re craving as you begin to bounce on his cock. Jin squeezes your hips, your tits and pulls you closer to him to mouth at your chest. He wraps a hand around your neck lightly as you try to keep your rhythm steady and your breaths stutter.
You ignore the burn in your thighs in favor of clenching around his cock and focusing on how full you feel.
Jin’s eyes are hooded, zeroed in on you exactly how you like them to be. He can sense when you’re beginning to get tired, holding your hips tightly and taking control over to slam his hips into yours. He stays focused on the way your lips part in a delicious ‘o’ and he pulls your face close to his harshly to capture your lips in a bruising kiss. You whimper into his mouth as he slams into you, his hips pistoning and your voice growing louder and louder.
He circles your clit, moves the same hand to your lips and pushes his thumb into your mouth and you eagerly accept his finger. Spit coats his thumb and he hums in approval.
You cum abruptly and unexpectedly, pleasure washing over you in waves at the simple clasp of his big hand around your neck. His cock is still throbbing inside you, pace relentless. Tears gather around your waterline from oversensitivity but you murmur for him to cum, you tell him how much you want his cum in you and he moans your name in your ear before emptying himself in your pussy.
“I love you,” You mumble, wrapping your arms around his neck and gripping his necklace lightly. He wipes any stray moisture from your eyes and kisses your forehead.
“I love you,” Jin says hoarsely. Jin tries to pull out but you protest, wanting to lay with him for a few moments longer. At some point, you end up dozing off in his arms and Jin cleans you both up before tucking you into bed.
You feel the faint brush of his lips on your forehead and bury yourself into his side before you tumble into sleep.
FOUR. long days.
you.
You woke up this morning with a migraine (truly one of the worst ways to wake up). Despite taking medicine after it became too excruciating to bear and increasing your water intake, your head was still throbbing nearly twelve hours later.
Not to mention, everyone at work was grating on your last nerve. It seemed that everyone wanted a piece of you today and you were getting pulled in a million different directions. You didn’t even have time to do the things you needed to do.
The only people who you were able to speak to without feeling like ripping your hair out were Namjoon and Jungkook. Even they told you that you should probably go home early, since it looked like you were about to pass out. Namjoon offered to call Jin to pick you up, but you refused quickly.
Being in your office was making your migraine worse. So by 3 PM, you pack your stuff up and head out without bidding anybody goodbye.
Your feet ache, your head is pounding, you’re hungry and you could absolutely scream. You rest your forehead on your steering wheel before pulling out of your parking space with bleary eyes. Your suit feels stifling today, and it feels difficult to breathe.
You want Jin, you’ve wanted Jin since you arrived at work and everything went to shit. But you can’t bear to listen to a single sound over your speakers so you just wait until you get home.
***
“You’re home early,” Jin says, looking up at you from his glasses at the dining table. You say nothing, only dropping your backpack to the floor and climbing into his lap tiredly.
“Oh, honey,” Jin murmurs, kissing your hair and rubbing your shoulder. Your eyes are closed and you hum into his neck.
“My head hurts a lot,” You say quietly into his skin, “Today sucked.”
“Let’s go get you changed, honey.”
Bomi follows both of you upstairs, sitting in her bed as Jin changes you out of your work clothes. He starts with your suit jacket, peeling it off easily and hanging it back up in your closet. Then, he pulls your button-up from the waistband of your pants and unbuttons your shirt slowly, pressing a soft kiss to your skin with each button that comes undone. Jin easily unclasps your bra, letting his fingers trail over your skin, before pulling one of his shirts over your head.
You’re already feeling a little better.
Jin pushes your pants down your legs and taps the back of your thighs so he can pull your favorite sweatpants up. “Gotta take your makeup off, baby.”
You make a noise of acknowledgment and allow him to take you to the bathroom, where he gently washes away the remnants of your day (after he washes his hands).
After he moisturizes your face with a tender touch, he pulls you into his chest for a long hug. His hands roam your back from under his shirt and you sigh.
“Can we nap,” You mumble, eyes already closing.
Jin nods and carries you to bed, making sure to draw the curtains closed to envelope you both in as much darkness as possible. He tucks you in before stepping away for a minute, but you’re already being beckoned towards sleep. “Baby, take medicine,” Jin murmurs, holding two pills and a glass of water in his hand. You sit up with a wince and do as he says.
“Good girl,” Jin says, cradling your cheek and crawling into bed with you. Jin turns on his side and drapes himself over you. He smiles when you sigh contentedly and he kisses your hair, coaxing you further into sleep with a few rubs of your belly.
Your soft snores fill the room and Jin only hopes you wake up feeling a little better.

jin.
Jin can’t seem to knock this metaphorical wall down, no matter how much coffee he chugs, how long he sits in the home office, how long he stares at his laptop screen.
Writer’s block. What a pain.
He runs a hand through his already messy hair and catches a glimpse of himself in the mirror. He looks like shit- bags under his eyes, fatigued, zapped of energy and motivation.
But he has a deadline coming up in the next few months and he has absolutely nothing to show for it. He had had success with his first short story, but he’d called it beginner’s luck. Then came the second story, and the third.
And now here he is. Riding on the coattails of his initial success. Maybe this is how far his mild talent would take him. Maybe this is all he can put out into the world.
It was nice while it lasted.
Jin huffs loudly. He knows you’d scold him for thinking such thoughts, for wallowing like this. You’d kiss him, murmur words of comfort and tell him that you believe in him.
He wants you, he wants you to hold him. A sudden wave of sadness and inadequacy washes over him.
Jin will just wait for you to get home. Until then, he’ll lay in bed and wallow in self-pity. Just how he likes.
***
You know something is wrong when Jin doesn’t reply to your texts after a few hours or send you a silly meme, or a corny joke as he usually does. He could be busy, but you just have a feeling.
So when you come home to see Bomi and Jin cuddled in bed, you only softly sigh. Jin rarely takes afternoon naps- it’s clear he’s upset.
“Jin?” You murmur, “Everything okay, baby?” You kneel on the floor of the side of the bed he’s facing and push his hair from his eyes. Jin blearily looks at you with fatigue in the lines of his face.
“No,” He says, voice muffled, “Lay with me? But take your outside clothes off.”
You bite your tongue, wanting to say “when have I ever laid in bed in outside clothes” but you refrain. You quickly wash up and change into comfy clothes and slide into bed to wrap your arms around his waist. You press your nose to his neck and drop a kiss there.
Jin relaxes immediately in your hold, finally able to get his mind to stop going a million miles a minute. Your hands are soothing and gentle around him, you wrap your legs around his to cocoon him in your embrace.
“Wanna talk about it, baby?” You murmur, dropping a kiss to the back of his ear.
“I just,” Jin sighs, “This story. I feel so stuck, and they want the first draft in a few weeks and I have nothing- I mean, what if this is it. This is all I could put out into the universe and… I felt like I was finally doing something great, something I loved. I felt like I was finally getting started-”
“Oh, sweetheart,” You coo, “It’s scary doing something amazing and feeling like you can’t replicate the same success. Or the same quality end result. Maybe you just need a break, honey. For a few days. And I’m sure if you ask for an extension, they’ll understand. You have so many words in this pretty head, baby. You have so many stories to tell.”
Jin turns in your arms, his eyes a little wet. You cup his cheek tenderly and he leans into your touch.
“You work so hard baby,” You murmur, “You’re so hard on yourself. Be patient with yourself.”
“I love you,” He mutters, pulling you in for a hug, “I love you. Even if you did wear outside clothes in bed, I love you.”
FIVE. nasa.
Falling in love with Seokjin came naturally- you had met him in one of your shared college classes in undergrad during your second year of college, and had become acquaintances that way. It had taken you longer to become real friends with him, but it hadn’t taken you long at all to realize how attracted you were to him.
You wanted him and he wanted you, as he drunkenly told you over shitty vodka shots at the bar that your mutual friends were celebrating their twenty-first birthdays at. He was so shy at the time, he still is sometimes, that you could understand how much it took for him to admit it to you. Whether it was out of intoxication or not. Of course, it had taken some time for you to get your shit together with each other. But the rest was history.
College sweethearts. You can still remember what it felt like in the beginning, how he made your heart grow ten sizes in your chest and made you feel like you were in the clouds. You can remember because you still feel it now, over ten years later. Give or take.
You remember your friends and your older cousins telling you that it wouldn’t work- that you were two very different people. You were too uptight, you didn’t take risks, you were not Seokjin’s type at all. Sure, maybe it seemed that way on paper. But the more you knew him and grew to love him, the more you felt like he was the missing piece of your puzzle.
You’ve long let go of the doubts of people around you. And it was even more bothersome that your own friends and family questioned your judgment. Because his friends and his family loved you. They sang your praises whether you were present or not, and his friends and family had slowly become your friends and family, too.
It made you happy beyond happy.
But there were some times when you and Jin were not on the same wavelength, and today was one of those days. You both fought here and there, like any couple did. But it had been a long time since you both fought like this.
You were both spending the day at the park with Bomi and then furniture shopping for a new coffee table. Jin had been inspired to redo the decor in the living room and you were basking in his inspiration.
But the morning had first started with you spilling your coffee and subsequently breaking your mug when it had slipped right out of your hands. You had then cut yourself on one of the sharper pieces after ensuring that Bomi was in her crate so she wouldn’t get hurt because of your stupidity-
Jin comes bounding down the stairs with panicked, wide eyes when he sees you pouting and holding a cloth to your hand. He looks down at the spilt coffee and the broken pieces of your mug and sighs.
You clean up the broken pieces with Jin and he checks your hands and feet afterwards. He helps you bandage your hand up, even though it’s a superficial cut. “Clumsy,” Jin snorts, “You’d lose your head if you didn’t have me.”
It had been such a small thing, but then a few other small things started adding up. Bomi peed on the rug before you had left for the park.
And to top it all off, Jin’s shoulder has been bothering him more than usual. His shoulder pain has been flaring up over the last few months, and despite your attempts to coax him into physical therapy or at least a doctor’s visit, he stubbornly refuses to. Something about it just being a part of getting older, or something.
Every time you try telling him to see a doctor, it ends in a minuscule fight and Jin shuts the conversation down. You can’t understand what the big deal is. Maybe there’s something more going on, something he’s not sharing with you.
This morning is one of those days that his shoulder is aching more than it usually does. You offer to drive to the park, but he grits his teeth and tells you that he can handle it.
You let it go for now.
At the park, Jin relaxes considerably, running around and playing with Bomi. There are some other dogs around so you and Jin let Bomi play with them, chatting with the other dog parents around you. Bomi is still getting used to being around other dogs, so you’re both happy to see her meshing well.
Bomi begins to tire herself out, curling at your feet and panting. Indicating that she’s tired and thirsty. Maybe a little hungry.
“Hi Bomi baby,” You coo, “Want some water and treats? Come, baby.”
“Wanna head out soon? We gotta check out the furniture store still,” Jin murmurs to you and you nod. He seems impatient, tapping his foot against the grass but you say nothing.
You rub his back fleetingly once Bomi finishes her treats and you carry her leash in your hand, your other hand in Jin’s. He’s tense, eyes narrowed in concentration and you think you know why. You think his shoulder is bothering him and he’s being stubborn about it.
You put Bomi in the backseat, stopping Jin from getting in the driver’s seat for a second. “Hey,” You mumble, taking your hands in his, “I’ll drive-”
“No, I’ll drive,” He says it with a note of finality and you sigh, pinching the bridge of your nose.
“I know your shoulder hurts, love,” You try to say as gently as you can, “Let me do it.”
“I’m fine,” Jin insists, stubbornness dripping from his tone, “Get in the car. I’m fine.”
You huff, rolling your eyes. The car ride is quiet, tension filling the spaces between you. You want to say something, you really do. But you don’t want to upset him further when he’s driving.
But then you see him wince and groan softly in pain with his hands on the steering wheel.
“Seokjin, pull over,” You say a little firmly. A little annoyed that he let it get this far.
“I can’t just pull over,” He hisses, “Besides, I’m fine, I’ll get us home-”
“We were supposed to go to the furniture store,” You roll your eyes, “But you’re right, pull over so I can drive us home. And I’m calling the doc once we get home-”
“No!” Jin exclaims, “I’m not fucking pulling over-”
“Why not? I’m literally telling you that I’ll drive! Baby, please-”
Jin rarely ever loses his patience with you, but today is just one of those days. “You should’ve fucking driven then,” He somehow has the audacity to say.
“You’re joking right? I told you multiple times I would drive,” You refrain from raising your voice, “You won’t call the doctor, you won’t see a physical therapist. What the fuck am I supposed to do?”
“Leave it alone! You’re supposed to fucking leave it alone,” Seokjin says, not holding back the irritation on his tongue. The hoops on his ears dangle and bounce when he looks at you quickly.
He ignores the hurt on your face and watches it transform into anger.
“Alright, I’ll just fucking leave it alone, since you’re doing such a great job of taking care of it yourself,” You mutter.
“Don’t- don’t scold me under your breath,” He says, more like yells, “A-and quit nagging me about it, fuck!”
The irritation in your belly vanishes quickly, hiding behind your hurting heart. You turn away from him, facing the passenger side window so he doesn’t see your eyes beginning to water.
Jin sighs, already realizing his error. You hate when anyone raises their voice at you, much less when it’s him. Shit. He has to fix this, but damn, you can be pushy when you want to be.
You sniffle.
“I’m sorry,” Jin says instantly, “Baby, I’m sorry I yelled.”
“Just drive, Seokjin,” You sigh, wiping your eyes.
So you both sit in silence.
***
“Baby,” Jin begs, “Please, baby, say something.”
“I don’t know what to say,” You mumble, his words ringing clear in your head. You had put Bomi in her bed, as she had somehow fallen asleep despite you and Jin arguing.
So now you’re both standing in the living room, looking at each other sadly. “Can I hug you?” Jin asks, walking towards you with outstretched arms. He dwarfs over you but you stand limply in his arms, your own arms hanging awkwardly at your side.
“Baby,” Jin pleads with you, cradling your cheek.
You’ve had worse fights with him in the past. But you knew him, you knew he wouldn’t lash out like this normally.
“Tell me what’s wrong,” You say bluntly, “And don’t lie to me and say everything’s fine. This isn’t just about your shoulder, so what is it?”
Of course you’d know that he was hiding something. You’re his other half after all, so he shouldn’t be surprised.
Jin sighs, rubbing his face tiredly. “I just…” He whispers.
“Tell me, baby,” You say reassuringly, hand on his chest, “It’s just me.”
He squeezes his eyes shut to gather his thoughts before opening his mouth and giving himself the chance to hurt your feelings again. “I just...I feel like I have no reason to get sick. To be in pain, I mean, what am I doing? I’m just at home, anyway-”
“Seokjin,” You murmur in a hushed whisper, “You’re not just at home-”
“I just feel- inadequate sometimes lately,” Jin says, his eyes wide and vulnerable, “I feel stuck and like… unsettled. I just want to be a husband you can be proud of. I’m sorry I yelled at you in the car.”
“Honey,” You cup his face with love in your eyes, “It’s okay. We’ll figure it out together, okay? You can tell me anything, when you’re ready. I hate pushing you to open up but sometimes you just need it, baby.
“I’ll always be proud of you no matter what. You are my dream babe, so supportive and loving and I always feel safe with you. If you want to work again, we’ll figure it out. If you want to write something else, we’ll figure it out. I’ll always be proud of you, but I want you to be proud of you, too. I love you.
“And you can make it up to me with dinner,” You joke, pulling a laugh from him.
“I’m really sorry,” Jin says, pulling you in for a proper hug. This time you reciprocate and hold him close.
“I know, love,” You murmur, “I know.”
SIX. question and answer.
Seokjin had quit his job about two years before you both had gotten married. He’d been dreaming about finally putting his dream of being a true storyteller to the test, and you had supported him. You’d read through his drafts and his manuscripts and encouraged him to pursue it full time. After all, you made enough to sustain you both and then some. And it’s not like he wasn’t making any money at all- he did freelance work with his writing for the most part.
He was good, he was more than good. He was great. Jin was a natural born storyteller, knowing exactly when to focus on details and when to zoom out and focus on the big picture. The way he wrote his stories genuinely felt like he was spinning words out of gold thread when you read what he wrote.
And he’d blush, the tips of his ears going red, when you said that to him with such conviction because you meant it.
Jin would get his big break soon, you were sure of it. But honestly, Jin was content like this. Freelancing his work, writing and keeping up with his new ideas and stories. It was one of the greatest gifts of his life, he thinks.
You and Jin are both content with your lives. You both find new ways to excite each other and new ways to fall even deeper in love with each other. It’s funny because your wedding hadn’t really even been planned. You both would have been content to exist as boyfriend and girlfriend until the end of time, but the idea of being his wife and of him being your husband was too mesmerizing for you both to let go of.
Neither of you wanted anything big or flashy. In fact, the way Jin had brought it up had been over breakfast (which in itself was so very him)-
“I wanna be yours forever,” Jin says bluntly, syrup at the corner of his mouth.
“Is that a proposal or are you just saying that,” You tease but his eyes are serious.
“Do you want it to be a proposal? I know we’ve talked about marriage and how what we are now is enough for both of us. I know you love me and I know I love you. But… god, I want to be your husband. I want you to be my wife.”
“Okay,” You shrug, “So let’s get married.”
“That’s it?”
“Does it need to be any more complicated?” You ask, “Like you said. I already know I want to be with you forever. Let’s make it official. Besides… I wanna be your pretty wifey. Don’t you want that?”
And that was that. You told your parents and he told his parents that you’d be getting married in court, and they had respectively scolded you both for not telling them before or planning anything. But nevertheless, they still came and they were witnesses at the court wedding. Only a few friends had come (you’d only invited a few)- the guys and some of your girls.
Jungkook had cried along with your mother.
You and Jin at least had a small get together with your friends and family to celebrate a little bit. Your parents were a little miffed that they didn’t have a chance to have an elaborately planned wedding for their eldest daughter, but they knew you. They knew you wouldn’t have wanted all of that.
“At least they told you and invited us to come,” Your brother says, rolling his eyes at your mother.
But it’s inevitable that for the last few years, the question of whether you both would ever grace your respective parents with grandchildren comes up repeatedly. Your parents are harder on you and more incessant than Jin’s parents are.
Many family gatherings have ended with you losing your temper with your parents, specifically your mother and your aunts. Your patience runs out quickly with them and Jin knows it. It’s part of the reason why you’ve been distancing yourself from your mother and aunts- it’s exhausting and tiresome to keep having the same conversation. Jin has been witness to your frustrated tears one too many times to count. First, they’d bug you about when you and Jin would get married. And now, they bug you about when you’ll have children.
You and Jin are happy right now. Neither of you had explicitly decided that you didn’t want kids. You’re both just taking it easy. And your family can’t seem to understand that.
Of course, you’ve both talked about kids together. And you’ve thought about whether you were meant to have kids extensively. Truthfully, you never really saw it becoming a reality.
But again… not right now. Maybe later. Or maybe not ever. The decision will come when it comes. It’s been years, and your feelings haven’t changed one way or another.
Your mother says you’re too laid back. Which is funny, because when she met Jin for the first time, she told you that you were too uptight for him.
Jin’s family doesn’t push either of you. His mother treats you like her own daughter, and for that you’re grateful. You’ve heard stories from friends about shitty in-laws, and you’re glad that Jin’s family is your own family.
The Kims are having a small party on this gorgeous summer evening- you and Jin are in attendance, along with his brother, his brother’s wife, and their two kids, and a few of Jin’s aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jin seems to sense that you’re both about to get ambushed by his mother and his aunts in the kitchen after drinks and dinner before you do. You stand closer to him, subtly squeezing his hand in yours. He grips your hand and squeezes back.
At least he’s with you, and you don’t have to fend for yourself, you think dryly.
“You ladies got something to say?” Jin says, his jaw starting to tick. He’s getting upset and you rub your thumb over his hand.
“We only want what’s best for you,” His mom says with a sigh, “You’re both getting older, when will you have kids-”
You swallow a lump down as your throat goes dry and the urge to cry overwhelms you.
“Stop,” Jin warns, his voice low, “We’re not doing this. Not here, not now.”
“We haven’t said anything for this long,” His aunt complains. You want to melt into the floor.
Are you the problem?
“Do you want a trophy for minding your own business?” Jin says, glaring at his aunt, who cowers with the heat in his stare. You can’t find your voice, so you let Jin speak for both of you.
“Don’t speak to your aunt like that,” His mother scolds Jin but he’s not having it.
“I will, if any of you speak to my wife and I like this,” Jin hisses, “We’re leaving.”
Jin squeezes your hand and you refuse to let go of him. Your vision is blurry from unshed tears and Jin notices. You manage to hold it in while you grab your purse, until you get to the car and let a few tears fall before shoving your face into his chest and sobbing.
“I know, baby,” Jin sighs, rubbing your back soothingly, “I’m sorry. Let’s go home.”
***
“I don’t know what to say,” You mumble into his chest. You had both immediately changed into night clothes to cuddle in bed, with Bomi in your arms.
“I’m tired,” Jin sighs, “Tired of them asking. Tired of everyone asking us.”
“I’m sorry,” You say, looking up at him, “They’re our family.”
“Doesn’t mean they get to be the way they are,” Jin rolls his eyes.
“I know,” You reply, “I’m running out of things to say to them. We’re gonna push everyone away if we keep this up.”
You say the last part jokingly, but you both know it’s a very real possibility. It’s becoming harder and harder for you both to give them the benefit of the doubt, to say that they only ask out of their own good intentions. It’s beginning to hurt you more and more.
“Maybe they need to be pushed away,” Jin mumbles, “If it means getting some peace of mind and not feeling like this whenever we see our families, maybe it’s worth it.”
“Maybe.”
A beat of comfortable silence.
“Do you want kids?” Jin asks bluntly, “It’s been a while since we actually talked about it. Just want to make sure nothing has changed.”
“No, not now,” You murmur, “Maybe someday. It’s such a hard question to answer. I don’t want to say no definitively but I don’t want to say yes definitively either… Do you want kids?”
“Maybe someday,” Jin echoes, “We can revisit in a few months. Or next year. Whenever we feel like it. Because it’s our decision.”
“Your mom is right,” You sigh, “I am getting older, you know. If we do want kids, we should seriously start thinking about it soon.”
“There are other ways to have kids,” Jin says pointedly, “When we’re both ready. Not because we feel like we have to.”
“Okay,” You say softly, “I love you.”
It’s that simple and that’s that. (For now, at least.)
SEVEN. together.
As you and Seokjin had tumbled out of your late twenties, you both found yourself preferring boozy brunch to nights out. At least with boozy brunch, you could recuperate during the day so you weren’t hungover for the entirety of the next day.
That’s not to say that you didn’t enjoy a night out every so often with your friends. You liked going out more than Jin did, even when you were in college.
So it was no surprise that at Taehyung’s boozy birthday brunch, you were well on your way to being drunk and Jin was, too. It had been a long time since you had seen your friends- it really only feels like you see each other for birthdays or big events. You miss the days of college, when you could see each other at the drop of a hat. It never felt this busy even in the years right after college. In the early years, even though most of them were younger than you and Jin, it still felt like there was more time.
It makes you feel nostalgic. You hear Jungkook teasing Jin (as he often does) and Jin dramatically responding. His cheeks are flushed red, the flush creeping down to his neck.
God, he looks so good.
You tear your eyes away from him when Taehyung’s girlfriend calls your name. She asks if you want to dance and you immediately say fuck yes, and stand up with her and with Sunmi to head to the dance floor with two drinks in your hands.
You can feel Jin’s eyes on your backside- you know you looked good. The pink crop top you had chosen for brunch was tight around your chest and you know these dark wash jeans and short heels (coincidentally your favorite) made your legs and your ass look fantastic.
Not that you didn’t look fantastic at all hours of the day. But you like being reminded that your man cannot get enough of you.
You’re careful with your drinks, ensuring that not a single drop is wasted while you dance with your friends. It’s been a long time since you’ve been able to let loose like this, and it makes you happy to be surrounded by friends that you love.
Sunmi’s hands are on your hips as you throw your head back in loose laughter. You’re vaguely aware of someone taking selfies of the three of you. Mostly, you can feel Jin’s lazy gaze on you, and a few other eyes as well.
You’ll give your husband something to watch, alright.
***
Somehow, it’s only 3 PM when it feels like it's 11 PM. And somehow, Taehyung is eager to go to the club at night, after an afternoon of reckless drinking. You and Jin exchange a wordless look, already knowing where your head is at.
“Yah… just let us know where the pregame is,” Jin says and Taehyung beams at him, “We’ll take a power nap until then.”
You feel bad that you and Jin probably won’t be going out, but you don’t want to dim his excitement. And honestly, knowing your friends, they’d all hype themselves up after an entire afternoon of drinking only to crash, pass out, and order in to chill.
“I don’t really wanna go,” You complain once you’re both in the comfort of your home, changed and ready for a nap.
“Jungkook told me that they’re all crashing anyway,” Jin says.
“Besides, I wanna blow you when you wake up,” You say sleepily.
“Why not now,” Jin whines, “Look at me, I’m already half hard. Help me.”
“I’ll puke on your dick if I suck you off right now.”
“Not like it hasn’t happened before-”
“Seokjin!”
“Ugh, fine,” Jin says dramatically, “I’ll just suffer then.”
“Okay, then perish.”
EIGHT. self.
Jin likes lists. He’s a big fan of crossing things off of his lists (which he keeps in his planner and his journal depending on what he makes lists for), and there are very few things as satisfying as completing a task from his list.
He’s a huge stationery enthusiast, only allowing both himself and you to use materials that he deemed satisfactory. He’s recently come across the magic that is washi tape, thanks to Namjoon.
Today, he’s taking Bomi out for a walk and to the nearby dog park, then he’s going to outline some new story ideas in his notebook (to later add to his drive on his laptop), and then he’s visiting baby Jia and Jimin with Yoongi and Holly.
Inspiration seems to be flooding through his pores these days, and he’ll ride that wave for as long as he can.
After seeing Jia and Jimin, he’ll stop by the grocery store and restock some on veggies, spices and meat. Routinely, you and Jin switch on who makes dinner for the week. You do enjoy cooking (it’s your time to decompress) but you’ll gladly admit that your man cooks better than you.
He claims that his secret ingredient is love. You think it’s because he’s more patient than you.
Sunday mornings at least twice a month are spent baking with Jin. You both like trying and making new things together. Sometimes it comes out great, and sometimes it doesn’t.
Jin also picks up some of your shared favorite snacks, two new bottles of wine to try, and a bag of clementines.
***
Initially, the quiet of the house without you felt a bit stifling at times. And once Bomi came into the picture, it became a little more lively. And then Jin had taken some plant recommendations and tips from Namjoon. He takes care of them meticulously, and you even have two succulents on your office desk that Jin had surprised you with.
And then you had surprised him with a record player with a few vinyls of his favorite albums and artists.
You both had made it a home project after purchasing the record player to build a sturdy, wooden audio rack together. Of course, it had taken months to finish (and if you had called Jin your sexy lumberjack husband and taken photos of him posing with the table together, then that was your business).
Jin puts some music on the record player before taking Bomi’s harness off and letting her stretch her legs. He puts the vegetables and the meat in the fridge and fills up a glass of water (as well as Bomi’s water bowl).
Maybe he’ll put a candle on and work from the couch.
Jin usually prefers working in his house with music faintly playing in the background. But sometimes, he likes working with Yoongi in his studio. Somehow, the feeling and sound of Yoongi working on his own music puts Jin in the right headspace to write and get his words on paper.
Jin puts his head down and loses track of time as he types away, tapping his foot to the music in time with the beat. Bomi curls up to his side and rests her head on his thigh.
It must be about two hours later, when his phone starts ringing. It’s Hoseok calling and Jin picks up instantly, knowing that he’s been having a tough time recently. Hoseok had taken the week off to get his thoughts sorted, and it’s clear that he wants (or needs) some company. So Jin tells him to come over and he warms up some leftovers and prepares some snacks.
Hoseok and Jin end up lying in bed together, under the duvet with Bomi in Hoseok’s arms. Jin turns the music up, as it’s comforting to hear in the silence. He doesn’t push him to talk, unless he really wants to. Eventually, with a sigh, he does.
It’s almost disconcerting, seeing the pull of Hoseok’s lips into a sharp frown. He’s usually so happy, and smiley, sunshine personified. But he is only human and he is not immune to hard days and generally feeling this way.
Jin only holds Hoseok close to him as he tells him how he’s been feeling the last few weeks. Months really. The words stumble out, forcing their way out of his throat (and some tears do, too).
Jin only rubs his friend’s arm reassuringly and listens.
***
You find Jin and Hoseok tucked away in your bed and you’re sure to be quiet and light on your feet when you arrive home from work. You let them have their time together, only saying hello to them when you arrive and start preparing dinner with a glass of wine in your hands.
“You don’t-” Hoseok protests, and you hold your hand up before he can even finish his sentence.
“Stay for dinner, Hobi. It’s been a while,” You murmur with a soft smile, “Besides, Jin got new wine and we’d love to try some with you.”
So he stays, and you see him smile genuinely for the first time in a long time.
NINE. to the nines.
“I love being your arm candy,” Jin murmurs into your ear when you both walk into the swanky hotel together, “Because I’m the only 11 in the room.”
“You’re so full of it,” You roll your eyes, swatting his chest playfully. Truthfully, you enjoy these events so much more when Jin is with you. You can hardly stand being in the room with these many people from work when you don’t have to be.
But being with Jin makes things like this bearable. Enjoyable, even.
It’s the director’s retirement party, and nearly everyone at the company is here for the party. You spot Jungkook and Namjoon with their respective significant others near the open bar and immediately make a beeline for them.
“Hey,” You murmur, giving them each a tight hug, “You all clean up very nicely.”
“Yah! You didn’t even tell me that when we left the house,” Jin pouts and you roll your eyes. Again.
A lie, and you both know it.
“Let’s make a drinking game out of this shindig,” You mutter and everyone looks on with interested eyes, “Every time you see your boss-”
“You don’t need to make a drinking game outta it,” Jungkook says, wrapping an arm around his date’s shoulders, “We’re already tipsy-”
“Of course you are,” Seokjin rolls his eyes, “Wouldn’t expect anything less-”
“Don’t come for me, I know you both took tequila shots before getting here-”
You leave Jin and Jungkook bickering and walk with Namjoon and his date to the open bar.
“What do you two feel like having,” You muse, “Let’s get this party going, everyone looks like they’re wasted or like they’d rather be anywhere but here.”
“Should we be networking,” Namjoon muses, taking a look around the ballroom.
“I only network from eight to five pm on weekdays and after that I need a six month notice in advance if I’m being forced to network,” You say flatly, “Let’s just enjoy, Joon.”
“If you say so, boss,” Namjoon grins good-naturedly at you. You hand out your respective drinks, beckoning Jin towards you and have a quiet cheers together.
You’re happy to be with your friends, and with Jin, even if it’s a work event that you have an unspoken obligation to attend.
***
It appears that Taemin does not quite see the ring on your finger- or he sees it and he willfully ignores it. Or it’s the alcohol and he’s just being far more flirty than usual. Either way, you take it in stride and dip out of the conversation as soon as you can to make your way back to Jin.
Who had been watching the whole interaction with amused eyes.
“Are you jealous?” You ask with a sugary grin.
“Yeah, definitely,” Jin rolls his eyes, “Jealous that your coworker caught five minutes of your time. Should I go rough him up?”
“I love when you protect my honor,” You wink at him, rubbing his chest absently, “It’s so sexy.”
“I love you,” Jin says abruptly, “I’m proud to be the person on your arm, you know that?”
“Yeah,” You say dreamily, “I love you.”
You and Jin end up finishing the night with Jungkook, Namjoon and their dates at a nearby pizza place. Even if you look out of place in fancy formal wear, none of you pay it any mind.
Neither you nor Jin particularly prefer PDA, but you can’t help but lean your head against his shoulder when you start to yawn. You’re struggling to stay present in the conversation and Jin’s warmth next to you is pushing you closer and closer to sleep.
You end up dozing off without realizing it, and Jin adjusts himself so that your head is comfortably resting on his shoulder. Everyone is sure to keep their voices down since you’ve fallen into a deep sleep apparently, and once everyone’s finished with their food Jin hesitates to wake you up.
“Honey,” Jin murmurs, shaking your shoulder gently, “The Uber’s almost here. We can go home and go to sleep. A pizza parlor is no place for sleeping.”
It takes a few moments of shaking your shoulder and whispering for you to wake up before Jin just lifts you up and carries you outside. You inhale loudly at the sudden movement and your eyes spring open.
“Jin,” You mumble into his neck, “‘M so tired.”
“I know, baby, we’ll be home soon. Gonna put you down now, alright?”
Your feet hit the ground but you stay in his embrace, eyes still closed and face tucked into his neck. You force your eyes open with a groan and look over his shoulder to see Jungkook and Namjoon in similar embraces with their own dates.
“They’re cute,” You say softly to Jin, “We’re cuter, but they’re still cute.”
“That’s my girl,” Jin grins and pecks your forehead.
“‘M your pretty wifey,” You remind him. As if he needs a reminder.
“‘M your pretty hubby,” Jin says. As if you need the reminder.
He’s your forever, and you’re his forever. Things between you both have always been relatively simple and easy.
And this fact is no different.

Spring Day: 3
Cherry Blossom
Tumblr media
— Summary: Becoming a part time english teacher wasn’t exactly the ideal startup you had hoped for yourself when you first moved to Seoul, South Korea. Luckily, you loved working with children and you were grateful to have found a well paying job with housing included so soon after university. Amongst your class, however, are 5 boys who seem to be constantly ostracized not only by the rest of the students but also by the other teachers and staff members. Becoming attached to you fairly quickly, you’re unintentionally tasked to be their permanent caretaker during their stay at school, even staying past the hours you were needed until they were picked up safely. However, what you didn’t expect was to catch the hearts of their seven older brothers, the leaders of a notorious and well known mafia family in Korea.

“You need to be careful.” Bomi said out of the blue, rummaging through the assignments she was going to take home and grade.
The sudden comment through you off guard, not expecting her once cheery demeanor to harden so quickly. At this point, all the kids had left. That also included your little group. You looked at her confused, a cock to your head as you furrowed your brows.
“What do you mean?” you asked her.
She sighed, never having lifted her head from what she was doing.
“I am so grateful to you, I mean it. You have managed to make those boys open up so much. I’ve never seen Soobin so willing to share before, him being one of the shiest of them all. But…” she said, trailing off a bit with a conflicted look.
“But?” you asked, urging her to continue.
“But, you need to be careful around their older brothers.” she finally said.
Now you were entirely confused, unsure of where all of this concern was coming from when just the other day she had urged you to try and “snag” one of them as a boyfriend. You were a bit agitated by that, her mixed signals not making much sense.
“Am I misunderstanding something, Bomi? What’s wrong with their older brothers?” you asked more seriously.
Bomi huffed with a pout. She got up to close the door, even going as far as locking it so no one would enter. When she came back, she was leaning up against her desk looking somewhat nervous to finally speak. At this point, you were beginning to get very concerned, trying to go over everything Yoongi, Hoseok, or Jimin had ever done that ever elicited danger. But that was short lived considering you were only around them for a short period of time and it was always on school grounds.
“I know this may sound...weird, unbelievable even, but those men are...very dangerous. The other day, I found out from the senior staff the reasonings behind the bullying. Those boys are part of the mafia. Some parents found out and would condition their kids to avoid the boys at all cost. It was the only thing they could do considering the power the mafia holds. I don’t know the details but the city, no, the country is very familiar with them. As long as they don’t cause any issues for the face of the land then they pretty much have free reign. Not many of the staff are aware of this, as you could tell, and they would much like to keep it that way. I was only told because I instruct the kids as the main teacher but considering the position you’re in, you deserve to know more than anyone else. That being said, how you choose to spend your time with them outside of school is entirely your business. In fact, as long as you’re happy and safe, then I feel relieved. It’s just, I want you to be careful and to expect some of the other teachers to be a bit talky now. Especially after yesterday.” she said wiggling her brows and presenting a sly smile.
You flushed at that, your gaze faltering slightly at the thought of both Yoongi and Hoseok again. However, that was far from important right now. What Bomi told you is definitely shocking, and if we’re being honest, a tad bit terrifying. Thankfully, though, her only concern was your wellbeing and you are beyond grateful for that. Having someone to watch your back and be as caring as her was a blessing.
“Thank you for your consideration, Bomi. That means a lot. I’ll admit that is definitely worth knowing and kinda scary. I, of course, don’t know anything about the mafia. My only exposure comes from stories or documentaries about them and, even then, is it truly enough to be aware of their way of life? Regardless, I’ll take your words into serious consideration and I’ll be sure to stay alert.”
“I guess tomorrow will be a bit interesting.” you added, lightly under your breath.
Bomi perked at this, having heard you with her keen sense of hearing. You didn’t realize it at first, at least not until she had a look of eager interest and an impish smile on her cheeks.
“Oh~, what’s happening tomorrow Y/n, hmm?” she said encroaching on your personal space.
You yiped at the sudden close proximity between you two, both confused and severely troubled for how quickly she appeared out of thin air. You took several steps back before hitting one of the childrens desks. Unfortunately, it didn’t serve any purpose due to her following your actions immediately, closing the gap in the process. Your face was hot from embarrassment, mentally chastising yourself for having spoken too loudly despite your best efforts.
“Are you...going on a date with one of them? Which one is it? Yoongi or Hoseok? Wait, is it Jungkook? I heard he’s extremely hot!” she shamelessly asked.
You put your hands up in a defensive stance in a feeble attempt to stop her and get her to back up. She gave you little breathing room but did so nonetheless. Sighing in defeat, you caved to her pestering.
“It’s nothing special. Most certainly not a date either. I was invited to get ice cream with the boys as a thank you. Jimin is the one who offered by the way.” you admitted with a small blush.
“JIMIN?!?! You got THE Jimin to ask you out on a date?” she squealed loudly.
“NO! No, Bomi! First off, it’s not a date. I’m spending time with the boys and Jimin is tagging along as their legal guardian. Second, there’s nothing romantic here at play. Yes, Jimin is attractive, but no, I am not romantically involved or invested in him. I only met him once for all of maybe 10 minutes. You can’t fall in love with someone after 10 minutes, that’s insane.” you shot back.
“What if you’re soulmates?” she quipped back.
“Bomi.” you groaned, rolling your eyes.
She laughed, finding great enjoyment in teasing you. You couldn’t help but join in, the thought of being soulmates with a man like that being too good to be true. Eventually the small commotion died off, you both sitting in a comfortable silence before Bomi spoke up again.
“But in all seriousness, how could you not see it?” she asked.
You looked at her with confusion, not quite sure where she was going with this.
“Have you ever been on a date before?” Bomi suddenly inquired.
You had a sheepish smile on your face, shaking your head. She looked at you shocked, almost as if in horror.
“Have you ever been flirted with before?” she asked a bit more rashly.
“No…”
“Y/N!!! Of course you don’t see it then! Jimin was totally flirting with you. Do you know how many of the teachers here have tried to go after Jimin, specifically. They all ended up getting their feelings hurt and walking back in shame with their tail between their legs! And yet here you are being asked by Jimin, no less, to go out and get ice cream! Come on!! That's a classic excuse to spend one-on-one time with you!” she tried to explain.
You held a look of skepticism, squinting your eyes at her rash explanation. Why would Jimin be interested in you? You never found yourself to be that appealing. Having had years of struggles with your natural ethnic looks, it took some time to reach a point where you felt more comfortable in your body. Living in a country which you hold much love and respect for, you can’t change the fact that you are everything their beauty standards aren't. Though people do mention they find you to be pretty, you’ve never been approached in a romantic way. Most certainly not by someone as handsome as Jimin.
“How about this,” she said, going back to packing up her belongings after unlocking the door.
“Tomorrow, after your outing, tell me how it goes. Make sure, however, to observe body language and the way he talks to you. Details! They’re important. I can’t believe how inexperienced you are. You know, any guy would be lucky to have you. You’re not only pretty but you're very kind and caring. I'm surprised it took this long for a guy to say something. Are they all idiots in your hometown?” she asked mindlessly.
You smiled at that, flattered by her compliment. However, a small part of you couldn’t help but reject her disbelief. The amount of times you’ve heard people tell you that has only increased over the years. If people truly found some type of attraction towards you, why had no one taken the time to want to get to know you or at least show interest? As much as you didn’t want to believe it, you slowly started to lose faith in the idea of being considered as a potential romantic interest. It hurt but you didn’t want to harp on it, spending more time to at least enjoy your work.
“You’re so silly Bomi. I promise that I will tell you everything that you asked. Though, don’t be too shocked when it’s revealed that nothing happened.”
“We’ll see!” she said challenging your skepticism.

Namjoon had finally finished the last of his paperwork, the hours he’d spent signing off documents from the countless meetings he’d attended over the past several weeks finally catching up to him. His body ached and his head hurt. All he wanted to do was take what little time he had left for himself and relax, maybe read a book or even sleep. Running the mafia was far from being an easy job.
When he got up from his desk, he walked out of the office. He dragged his body to the room adjacent to the one he exited from, entering it immediately once he reached the door. Inside was a large shelf that replaced the wall entirely. It was filled with books, some meant for children while others for scholars. He smiled when he spotted a book with an illustration of parrots, his mind immediately going to Boemgyu’s desire to have it read to him every so often. The thought of that made him look at the time, taking in realization that the kids should be on their way back soon. So for self-indulgent purposes, Namjoon had picked it up and sank into the nearest cushioned couch. Bless Taehyung for being adamant about purchasing these chairs.
As he began flipping through the pages of the children's book, he couldn't help but picture how excited Boemgyu gets when he spots the same little parrot that looks like his toy Toto. It never failed to make him laugh, seeing his cute little eyes sparkle while that smile of his could light up a room. His brothers all mean the world to him, especially the younger ones. He’d do anything for them, even if it meant dying. However, his biggest regret is feeling as if he doesn't spend enough time with them, always being met with disappointed pouts when he’d decline their offers. His mind drifted off longer than he had expected, a pang of guilt and unease settling into him. However, just before he could settle further into his thoughts the door to the room sprung open with a somewhat irritated looking Jimin. The action startled Namjoon but he patiently waited for what he had to say once he had recovered from it.
“Joonie-hyung, there you are.”
That's when Namjoon knew Jimin came for a favor that wouldn’t be so favorable for him. They’ve all been around each other for a very long time, the public knowing them for the better of 7 years but their friendship running much longer than that. It was easy to pick up on certain things about one another and this was no different. When Jimin needed someone to do something, most formalities were dropped and he would become somewhat sweet and whiny. Namjoon sighed when it was so obvious and apparent.
“Yes Jimin, what do you need?” he asked, cradling his cheek in his hand.
“I swear it’s not bad.” Jimin started off.
Namjoon watched with both boredom and skepticism, knowing that he can only take his words with a grain of salt. Jimin waited before speaking again, nervousness now evident in the way he fidgeted with his hands.
“Tomorrow, after school, the kids and I were going to get ice cream. It was a date we planned a few days ago. However, we invited their new teacher to come along with, you know, the really pretty one I told you guys about?” Jimin asked.
Namjoon nodded, really curious to see where this was going.
“Well, yeah, so something came up. A new deal between the Lee-Choi Clan was put into play last minute. Jungkook, Hoseok, and I are going to handle it but it’s around the time I made that promise to the kids. I asked Jin-hyung or Yoongi-hyung to do it but they also have prior engagements. Then there’s Tae who was instructed to do the shopping which, you know, takes a while. I knew you’d be off but I know with everything going on, you may not be up to it. I figured it wouldn’t hurt to ask though. If you can’t do it then-”
“I’ll do it.” Namjoon interjected.
Jimin paused, blinking several times as he was trying to fully soak in Namjoon’s words.
“Wait, really? You’ll do it?” he questioned excitedly.
“Yeah, I don’t see why not. I haven’t had a chance to spend time with the boys in a while. Plus, with all this talk from you, Hoseok, and Yoongi-hyung, I kinda want to see this girl for myself.” he admitted.
Jimin smiled at that, both relieved and content with his older brother’s curiosity in you.
“She’s really easy on the eyes. I spoke with her briefly but she's very kind and truly cares about the kids. Hoseok and Yoongi seemed to really like her a lot. She’s a great influence...a good mother figure too, so they say.” Jimin mumbled the last part.
“Jimin.”
“I know, I know. It’s just, I think it could work out...this time. You’ll see what I mean. After tomorrow, make a decision for yourself. We all trust you. I know it’s kinda early and only three of us have interacted with her. But if you could just see the way the boys look at her you’d be doing the same.” Jimin proclaimed.
Namjoon sighed, not wanting to go through what happened before. Not again. But the way Hoseok, Yoongi, and Jimin spoke about you; he couldn’t disregard their feelings. He had overheard them talking about this topic before and knew they were too nervous to bring it up to him. But what’s important is taking in consideration everyone's feelings and proceeding from there.
“I promise I will consider what you said. But don’t forget what’s most important, okay?”
“I understand Hyung, thank you.” Jimin said with a bright smile before departing.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
You’d be lying if you said you weren’t a bit nervous. Bomi’s constant berating of it being a date made you second guess every choice you made that afternoon. You debated every outfit, every hairstyle, and even your makeup routine. You didn’t want to look super dressed up but you didn’t want to look extremely casual. So you opted with a happy medium; something cute, somewhat flirty, and still appropriate for the newly encroaching Spring weather. You never did find enjoyment in wearing a lot of makeup so you went very light and natural with it. Even though you left the house somewhat confident in your appearance, you started to worry over looking too this or not enough of that.
The day Hoseok and Yoongi picked up the kids, they gave you the location and time of the ice cream parlor Jimin and the boys would meet you at. You arrived about 10 minutes early, just enough time to allow your anxiety to sink in. So deep into thought, you were immediately ripped from it when a loud and chirpy voice called out to you.
“Ms. Y/n!!” Hueningkai shouted happily.
You turned around to locate the familiar voice, a wide grin plastered on your face. It always filled you with so much joy to see the boys. You couldn’t quite put your finger on why you felt so attached to them, but quite frankly, you could care less. You’d be lying if you said it didn’t persuade your decision to have boys of your own one day.
Dropping to your knees with wide opened arms, they all came barreling at you, each trying to hug you as much as possible.
“You look so pretty Ms. Y/n!” Soobin said, admiring your outfit.
“Really REALLY pretty!” Yeonjun agreed excitedly.
You giggled shyly at their compliments, ruffling their hair in response.
“Why thank you, you all are very sweet.” you responded.
“So you must be Ms. Y/n?” a sudden masculine voice asked.
You looked up to lock eyes with a man you were entirely unfamiliar with. But my god were you not complaining. He was very tall and had a beautiful bronze to his skin, his dirty blonde hair complimenting the tone. He wore shades and jewelry alongside a white v-neck shirt, a jean jacket, and dark pants. He was extremely handsome but he clearly was not Jimin. He must’ve noticed your confused look and smiled shyly at you.
“I know you were probably expecting Jimin. Apologies, but he couldn’t make it today. Business came up and he asked me to tag along instead. Hope you’re not too disappointed. I know he’s very popular at the school.” he explained.
You immediately perked, fearful that your gawking came across as disappointment instead of surprise. Standing up abruptly you bowed apologetically.
“I am so very sorry if my surprise came across the wrong way! I am far from being disappointed. Trust me. Jimin is very popular but that doesn’t make this a disappointing turn of events. I just wasn’t expecting someone just as handsome to come along!” you said rambling.
Namjoon’s brows arched at that, completely taken off guard by your bold statement. He, however, definitely couldn't hold back a smirk from that. Your eyes widened when you realized what you said and began to panic.
“Oh god. No wait! That still came across wrong. I’m not excited because you're handsome! That sounded so shallow. I don’t care what you look like I’m just glad you guys could come! I uh...I’m sorry. I’m so bad at this! Please just know that I appreciate that you were willing to do this. I was really happy to come and spend the day with the boys and uh...yeah so uhm..I’ll stop talking now.” you shyly said, an evident rage of red present on your cheeks.
Yeah, you were much cuter than Jimin led on to believe. But he was definitely correct in how pretty you were. He had never really met anyone like you, at least not a foreigner. He was definitely glad he was the one who took on this day.
“Please don’t apologize. You didn’t do anything wrong! I actually truly appreciate the compliment. However, if I may be as bold, you are much more beautiful than Jimin led on.” he said with a shy smile.
You froze, trying to go over everything this man just said several times before your brain could fully recognize and comprehend his words. Did he call you beautiful? Did Jimin call you beautiful??? What the hell????? It was as if your whole body had temporarily malfunctioned, the thought that men far above your league saw you as beautiful ceasing every function of your mind, body, and soul. Namjoon had taken notice of how red your cheeks had gotten and couldn’t help but chuckle.
“Ms. Y/n, why is your face all red?” Taehyun asked with slight concern.
“You’re not sick are you? Let me feel your forehead!” Beomgyu demanded.
He tugged on you until you willingly lowered yourself to his level. He put his small hand against your forehead and felt it several times before determining that ice cream was the cure for how warm you felt.
“It’s too hot out here, that’s why you’re so red! Let’s get some ice cream to cool you off!” Beomgyu assessed.
“Yeah, ice cream will definitely make you feel better!” Taehyun agreed.
“Ice cream makes everything better!” Hueningkai cheered happily.
“Maybe it’s because Namjoon-hyung keeps flirting with Ms. Y/n.” Yeonjun threw out.
Soobin giggled while the others looked at each other and then Yeonjun confused. Your cheeks flared and so did Namjoon’s. Huneungkai looked up at Namjoon with a confused look.
“What’s flirting? Is it a disease?” he asked.
“NO! It’s not. And I...I wasn’t...who even taught you that word!?” Namjoon stuttered embarrassed.
“That’s what Seokjin-hyung said Hoseok-hyung and Yoongi-hyung were doing yesterday with Ms. Y/n. That’s why we came home so late!” Yeonjun proudly proclaimed.
At this point you didn’t want to know how red your face was, especially after witnessing the deep crimson shade on Namjoon’s.
“Wait, so if flirting isn’t a disease, what is it then?” Taehyun asked.
“Why did Ms. Y/n turn red?” Huneingkai asked.
“According to the book Soobin and I found, it’s when two people say really nice things to each other and then they wrestle.” Yeonjun excitedly continued.
“It said they play on the bed but I bet it’s not very comfortable.” Soobin added.
“Why would you say nice things to each other and then fight afterwards?” Beomgyu asked with concern.
“Namjoon-hyung, please don’t wrestle Ms. Y/n in the bed! She’s really nice and super kind. She didn’t do anything wrong!” Huneingkai yelled with a slight panic in his voice.
The partially crowded area watched in horror, the younger clusters laughing and the older ones shaking their heads disapprovingly. The absolute terror and embarrassment both you and Namjoon held could not be described into words. You both were speechless, not sure how to process everything that was said. You wanted to crawl under a rock and hide for the next several years and Namjoon wanted to just die on the spot.
“Hyuka, there’s no need to worry. No one’s hurting anyone, especially not someone as cute as her.” a sudden deep voice chimed in.
All heads turned to the owner of the voice, a man too beautiful for words standing there. He was also tall with longer dark hair. He wore a bandana, designer shirt, and black jeans. He even sported a Chanel bracelet. With a boxy grin he motioned for Hyuka to come to him, which he willingly did. Who was he?
“Taehyung? I thought you were shopping?” Namjoon asked, bewildered by his sudden appearance.
You watched, glad that the topic of the conversation had changed, but finding this day to already be too much for you. The man smiled a boxy smile. It was a quirky yet charming feature about him that you found to be endearing. He must've noticed you staring at him and approached you. Grabbing your hand and kissing the back of it, you must’ve turned red for the billionth time that day.
“Sorry about that, I swear we don’t willingly let them read books like that.” he said.
You smiled shyly at him, and shook your head.
“It’s okay, I was just a bit surprised is all.”
“I’m so sorry Ms. Y/n. I should’ve said something to them sooner. I was a bit flustered to be honest.” Namjoon quickly piped in.
“No no, it’s okay! I think we both were caught off guard! It makes an interesting way to break the ice, if I do say so myself!” you admitted laughing.
The three of you smiled, relieved that you all were still content with continuing the initial plan. You found out that the first brother was Namjoon and the second one was Taehyung. Namjoon was older than Taehyung and Jimin but not older than Hoseok and Yoongi. In fact, him and Hoseok only had a few months difference. It was interesting to hear about their life more and learn about the other brothers you hadn’t quite met. But you noticed that they never disclosed any information remotely pertaining to the mafia life; as expected.
You were fine with that, to be honest. You didn’t really want to spend every intenteraction with them scrutinizing their moves and actions. You really just wanted to spend time enjoying yourself, and that's exactly what you did. The kids showed you all sorts of ice cream flavors, some you’ve never ever seen or heard before. You tried to keep up with what their favorites were and did your best to taste small bits of them all as a result. Namjoon and Taehyung must’ve found humor in it and teased you about it.
You got to know the boys a bit more, learning about their likes and dislikes, their habits, their favorite activities, and any other miscellaneous facts they cared to share. You also got to learn about both Namjoon and Taehyung as well. Along the way, you were offered the chance to, once again, observe how much their older brothers truly cared for them. Honestly it looked more like parent and child and that alone was enough for you to be attracted to these men. Yes they were handsome but they’ve treated you like a gentleman would all day. On top of that, the way they interacted with the boys showed that they could handle kids really well. Those types of characteristics outweighed anyones physical attributes and you were really glad they held such capabilities.
Before you guys decided to part ways, the boys had convinced you all to venture through a small arts and crafts festival being held nearby. You all happily agreed to it and watched how their eyes lit up at the thousands of beads on display. They dragged Taehyung off to purchase some of the assortments so they could make bracelets with Hoseok later on and left both you and Namjoon by yourself. You didn’t notice it but Namjoon had a habit of staring at you almost the entire time. At first it was to see how you really interacted with the boys but it had soon grown to be out of pure endearment, fonding over your smile, your laugh, the little quirks you had when you displayed certain emotions or gestures. It was hard not to coo over such little things, they were the most important thing about a person.
However, he tried to stay guarded, to prevent his heart from failing to be careful like it had done once before. But you were so different, so unlike many others who came before. You seemed so genuine. In the past, they each had partners and many times they shared those partners. Most were quick to leave their lives, opting for a no strings attached approach. That was fair and very common in their line of work. No one really wanted to stay restricted under the laws of the mafia. Those who showed willingness to it found it hard to give their attention to their younger brothers, them not ready to handle kids at their age quite yet. That, too, was understandable.
However, it was the one time someone had come into their lives, showing the willingness to be with the boys and live under the laws of the mafia. Showing love and affection for all the men. It’s rare for such a thing, crazy even to ask someone to do that. And yet they had it for a fleeting moment, a moment that quickly turned into a heart wrenching lie of betrayal.
“Namjoon?” you asked hesitantly.
He quickly escaped from his thoughts, observing your concerned gaze. Why did you have to be so cute? He smiled in return, hoping that was enough of a gesture to quell your questioning gaze.
“Sorry, just thinking. Want to look around?” he offered.
“Sure!”
You both walked around briefly until you stumbled across a booth that held beautiful handcrafted hairpieces. The detail was delicate and well designed, the immaculate use of color and space wonderfully thought out and arranged. Namjoon watched how your innocence was on full display. It was pure and unashamed. It was absolutely beautiful to witness.
“May I?” you asked the owner of the booth.
“Of course! Please, take your time.” she responded.
You gently went through the hairpieces, cooing and aweing at all of them. You showed Namjoon, excited to present him the display up close.
“Which do you like? I can’t pick, they're all so beautiful!”
Namjoon hummed for a minute before observing the artisans work carefully. His eyes were immediately drawn to a hairpiece that had cherry blossoms on it. It was simple, cute, and very pretty. The design would normally be overlooked by the more showier pieces but it held a unique beauty only few could truly discover. Somehow, that oddly reminded him of you. The elderly woman behind the booth witnessed this, observing the two of you carefully with a small smile on her lips.
“This one. I think this one would be perfect for you.” he said with confidence.
“You think so? I trust you. It’s very beautiful. I...I actually really like it the more I see it.” you admitted.
“May I buy this please.” Namjoon asked.
You immediately turned to look up at him. You put your hands up to stop him from offering up cash from his wallet.
“Wait, Namjoon! You don’t have to buy this!” you protested.
“You’re right, I don’t. But I will.” he said, continuing to hand the money over.
The old woman happily accepted the cash and proceeded to wrap the pendant in a protective casing before placing it inside a box, handing it to Namjoon afterwards.
“You two are a very cute couple. If a man as sweet as this one actually takes the time and effort to pick out a gift for his girlfriend, I say you marry him. Men these days don’t take us women’s feelings into consideration anymore. They just haphazardly pick up expected gifts without much thought and give it to us as if the object is what’s important. Any man who cares enough is a keeper.” she lectured.
You both blushed at her accusation, the assumption of being a couple filling your stomach with butterflies and reddening your cheeks with a crimson shade.
“I’m not-”
“Well I guess we got a lot to take into consideration now, don’t we Y/n?” Namjoon asked with a sly smile.
You paused for a moment to observe Namjoon, a small smile forming on your face.
“Yeah, I guess we do.” you said giggling alongside his childish antics.

I can read you like a book 2
Tumblr media
Jimin x reader Gangster au
In the midst of a gang war Jimin finds himself in his own war, a war between himself and the feelings he was developing for the girl with the fuzzy pink scarf.
CH1 CH2 CH3 CH4 CH5
------------------------------------------
“Alright be nice to the young lady now Bomi.” the old lady kissed the golden retriever on its head before handing you its leash “I’ll make sure she will have a great time.” you smiled back at her.
A sigh of relief fell from your lips as you crossed the street, all your other clients had cancelled today, you’d probably have to take an extra shift at the cafe to be able to pay this month’s bills. Sighing again, you stuffed your hands in your pockets. Bomi tugged slightly against the leash as she took in the different scents, you couldn’t help but smile at the dog’s excitement. Looking up you watched the light cloud of your breath disappear into nothing, it had been almost a week since you spoke to the gangs and today was the day you were gonna present your idea. You had to be careful though, there were two big gangs and a smaller one, so you had to be cautious as to not turn them against each other. Everyone was needed for this to work. You turned the corner walking towards the park, The Hyunshik clan first, then the Tigers and lastly BTS. Yeah, that was probably the best idea.
You turned to Munhee with a smile as you walked through the door she had opened, she didn’t enter with you instead closing it and standing outside to make sure no one interrupted. Hyunshik looked up at you “It’s bittersweet to see you” a chuckle left his lips “Well I guess you have a plan.” sitting down you nodded at him. You cleared your throat “I think the best thing to do right now is to wait and gather information.” Hyunshik furrowed his eyebrows the left corner of his lips pulling to the side. “We need as much information on them as possible before we decide how we should take them down. We can’t let any of them get away, so we need to know exactly who is in that gang. And if we can get their positions, that’s even better.”
The man’s lips seemed to relax, but his hand rose to his chin stroking it slightly, probably doubting the idea. “They’re not inflicting any direct harm, right?” “No, not unless they’re not provoked” his eyebrows rose as he spoke. You opened your mouth to speak again but he beat you to it “I think it’s a good plan, we can’t rush this.”. Hyunsik paused in thought “But, I don’t know if The Tigers will agree as easily, three of his men have already been killed, and he’s lost a good amount of product. If anything he might be lining his men up to kill as we speak”. You sighed, you already knew this. “I think we all know that won’t work, I’ll just have to try. And if he doesn’t agree then… I guess I’ll just tell him to back off until it’s over” Hyunshik leaned back in his chair as he laughed “Back off! He’s already easily angered, and you wanna insult him in the face”. You smiled back “It’s only an insult if he takes it as such”. Hyunshik leaned forward “Alright and after gathering the info needed, what happens then?” you shrugged your shoulder “Easy, we just gather them all in a single place and yeah”. Hyunshik smiled, nodding his head “Alright”.
You took a deep breath as you approached the Tigers’ building, you needed all the confidence and patience to convince that hot head old man.
Your eyes winded in confusion and shock as you saw not only the leaders of the Tigers, but the leader of BTS turned towards you. “Oh I’m sorry, I’ll come back at another hour” you were just gonna give a bow and walk away when Shin the leader of the Tigers stood up with a welcoming smile “No come in, you arrived at the perfect time actually” Namjoon nodded “Please, sit down”. You eyed the two men as you walked in Namjoon had crossed his arms across his chest, his jaw clenched, and Shin was glaring at Namjoon through the corner of his eyes, his lips pressed into a tight line. Okay this was bad you thought as you sat down, it was clear that the two had been arguing before you had walked in, which didn’t help our case at all. You sat down in the chair between the two men, “I’m guessing you were talking about the...problem” Namjoon brought the wine glass to his lips with a chuckle “and as I promised I’m here with an idea”, “I thought you promised a solution?” Namjoon raised an eyebrow at you. “It’s a solution once we try it and it works, for now, it’s an idea” you smiled back, Don’t try me Namjoon. Namjoon continued to stare at you, almost as if he was trying to find the map to Atlantis in your face. “Well spit it out already” Shin’s fingers tapped impatiently on the table.
“Time?! Haven’t we given them enough time?” Shin raised his voice as he pointed to you, “It’s not a matter o-” Shin interrupted you standing up “They took three of my men and almost ten kilos of product”. You blinked at him unhappy to be interrupted “If you just rush in and shoot them you might get one or two, but since we don’t know how many there are in the gang there will most likely be someone that runs and informs the rest of the gang”. Shin pulled out a cigarette as he sat down and Namjoon picked up the wine glass again. This was not going well, seeing the two distracted you rolled your shoulder in an attempt to realise some of your anxiety, and leaned towards Shin resting your elbow on the armrest. “Look, this is not my problem, I’m not even in this business anymore, I’m just trying to help. I’m an ex-mole, and so are the members of the Balck Doves, I thought you’d maybe want some suggestions.”. Shin mirrored your action and leaned onto his elbow as he puffed on his cigarette. “How are you supposed to gather information?” Namjoon questioned seemingly more relaxed. “Like always, using moles,” you sit back up straight “But, only using one or two. To minimise the chance of a spy and any information getting out” both men nodded their heads “But the ones you choose have to be 100% trusted. No doubt.”. You furrowed your eyebrows to exaggerate your seriousness. Shin let out a sigh leaning back in his chair, closing his eyes “All my most trusted are dead” pain fluttered your heart at the frustration in the man’s voice. “I have one” you turned to Namjoon as he spoke, “He’s a childhood friend, so I don’t have any doubts”. You nodded your head “Alright”.
“JM?” you called out to the man standing with his back to you, turning towards you, his eyebrows rose in confusion “Soomin?”. You blinked at him “yeah?” he leaned closer lowering his voice “Lee Soomin. Like Lee Soomin the mole?” you furrowed your eyebrows at his action “Yes. What’s with the suspicion?”. He leaned back putting his hands up “No, it’s just that” he eyed you up and down a small smirk growing on his lips “I didn’t expect the infamous mole to wear a fluffy pink scarf.” you scoffed “Says the guy that is wearing skinny jeans.”. His mouth fell open as you laughed at your own comeback, he joined in shaking his head “Didn’t expect that.” he smiled back at you “Should we go?”.
Starting the car, JM drove down the city “There is new info” your head snapped towards him, but his gaze stayed on the road as “Oh?”, “We might have found one of the Black Dove’s meeting places”. You smiled, this was good “Do they know that we know?” JM only shook his head “Great, this gives us a chance to see the members”. “Yeah, but it’s really hard to get a good look without being spotted. There are plenty of guards, and the area has close to no places to hide.”. Leaning back in your seat you let out a sigh “I guess we’ll just have to get there and see what we can do” JM hummed in agreement.
Stepping out of the car you looked around, you were at the outskirts of the city, the only sign of people being the abandoned flats rotting away. JM walked around the car and stood beside you as he pulled on his backpack. You did the same “It’s around that building” he leaned closer to you and pointed to a flat right in front of the two fo you. You leaned closer, voice quiet “It’s not that high, maybe we could get to the roof and get a good look from there.”. JM nodded “Yeah, we could do that.”, treading slowly into the building the two of you made your descent up the stairs careful to not be spotted through the windows.
You panted slightly as you finally reached the rooftop, the cold air biting against your exposed skin. Jm crouched his bag now in his hand as he made his way towards the edge you followed laying on your stomach once you reached the edge. Peering out you spotted a small house standing alone, the area around it was completely flat giving no opportunity to hide. Lined around the building stood guards, your eyes slowly grew once you got a good look at the number of guards “I thought they were a small gang” you whispered to JM “They’re growing. That’s why we need to get rid of them as soon as possible.” Jm mumbled as he pulled binoculars out of his bag you watched him pull them to his eyes before unzipping your own bag. The lens was heavy in your hand as you brought the camera up to your eyes closing the other, JM turned to you as the shutter went off “Easier than remembering their faces” JM’s mouth curved into an O before he returned to his binoculars.
“Do you see that guy?” JM leaned towards you, taking the binoculars that JM was basically holding up to your nose you peered through them. “That one right there.” his hand grasped your jaw lightly and turned it to the right, the touch sent electricity through your frozen body, and it took you a second to realise what you were looking at. Walking towards the guarded building was a hooded figure, followed by two masked males “They were here the other times we checked this place out.” you put down the bouncers. “They must be one of the higher level members” nodding to JM’s comment you snapped a picture of the hooded figure, you might not have a face, but it was at least a reminder to remember them.
You had spent hours on the roof, the cold air having no mercy on the two of you and resulting in the both of you huddling together trying to stay somewhat warm. JM’s side was pressed against you, his breathing rocking his body further against you, the slow rhythm was relaxing, your eyes getting heavier with each passing moment. A sudden bang jerked your head up. Scanning the area, you saw no explanation for the sound. “They shoot someone inside the house” you followed JM’s vision towards the small building “They got rid of a member that they don’t need” your eyes fell on the guards lining the walls. The men turned their heads left and right scanning the area, weapons held high “No, it wasn’t planned, look at the guards” you picked up your camera as you spoke “something went wrong”, “They didn’t agree on something.” JM continued the sentence “mhmm”. Both of you laid in silence as you watched the building, waiting to see someone leave, dead or alive.
“We should get going, the sun is coming up soon” JM patted you on the back as he spoke. The both of you made your way across the roof and down the stairs. Your body was aching, your torso and the front of your thighs were stone cold. Keeping close to the dark walls you jogged to the car, your stiff fingers struggling with the door for a moment. Once you were stretched out thankful for the soft cushion that was cradling your body, JM let out a chuckle “This was fun, huh?” you only scoffed back. Turning on the car JM let out an exaggerated gasp and stared at you in fake shock “This was our first date” you blinked at him for a moment before bursting out in laughter JM joining in. What a character you thought as you relaxed back into the cushion.
---------------------------------
JM might be a boring “gang name” for Jimin but I didn’t want to give him some cringe name, but if you have any suggestions for any members let me know <3

A/N: I hope you enjoy this really really soft series I’m working on for every member… I just needed some fluff in my life. Please let me know what you think! Also, I kinda got into the holiday season because … seasonal depression yayy
JIMIN ♡ HOSEOK
For some weird reason, waking up at six in the morning on a free day seemed like a great idea for Jungkook, he wasn’t feeling like himself after all the stress from tour and the upcoming performances, or maybe it was just him missing his family being this close to Christmas season and knowing he wouldn’t be able to spend it with them. It was times like this he would just feel alone while being surrounded by people he loved and loved him back, and boy did he wished to shake that feeling off, but he just couldn’t help himself. The first rays of sunshine peeped through his room’s window as he lazily sat at the edge of his bed, his bare feet barely touching the floor, only for him to feel immediately cold all over; he had promised himself the day before to go for a jog early in the morning so he had a chance to drop by his favourite dog cafe afterwards, in an attempt to feel better before it became too crowded and impossible for him to walk in by himself.
Tumblr media
Cold air hit him as soon as he walked inside the spacious cafe, a small white dog running towards him as he walked to the bar to order his usual iced coffee, he soon found his worries being washed away by the several fur balls greeting him and he couldn’t help but smile when a golden retriever knocked him over in an attempt of sniffing his cup.
“Hey, you’re so cute” he whispered to the dog as he scratched the back of his left ear, taking his coffee further up for the dog to be unable to reach it
“You must not be a regular, Bomi is a new one here. Sorry” upon hearing your voice, the dog ran happily towards you, making Jungkook look over to where you were now crouching to pet the animal. Jungkook was not exactly one to believe in love at first sight, at least not until now that he found himself completely dumbfounded, at that moment he could have sworn he was staring at an angel in flesh, the light coming from the huge windows reflecting on your face in the most beautiful way possible, your smile capturing his heart in just mere seconds. He felt his stomach twist, his pulse quicken and he couldn’t even form an intelligible sound as you looked up at him waiting for an answer.
“Yeah” was all he could get out, he was pretty sure he looked fucking stupid at that moment, his usual fashionable self nowhere to be seen as he was sitting on the floor in some joggers, a loose black shirt and his usual short and perfectly styled hair, now longer, falling over his eyes in the messiest way possible. He cleared his throat unable to know whether or not it had been a little too long for him to try and start a conversation, he wasn’t exactly one to talk to girls, least of all to try and swoon one while feeling and looking like a mess “he’s cute”
The dog approached him once again and you took the opportunity to sip at your beverage while stealing a glance at him and smiling quietly while you did so “He really is, I brought him a few weeks ago” your voice was so soft to his ears, he could feel his heart doing a flip every time you opened your mouth, he was absolutely smitten; and even though he had no idea of what to do or how to do it, he was sure he would never let you go. You suddenly rose to your feet, walked over to him and extended your hand for him as for helping him get up; the moment both of your hands touched he felt sparks going off, like something out of a movie, and he swore he could see a pink tint forming in your cheeks as you looked away from him nervously, was this how true love was supposed to feel like? “You know, you should probably get going if you don’t want to get mobbed by fans”
Sure enough, the cafe was starting to fill up and he was most probably going to get reprimanded when arriving at the unit for leaving without security but it was all worth it, you were worth it. He was halfway out the door when in a spark of confidence he turned around with a smile on his face “I didn’t catch your name though?”
“Y/N” you smiled at him as he hurriedly left the store, absolutely smitten for him too. Not in a million years would you have imagined to meet THE Jeon Jungkook at one of your regular morning cafe runs, much less feeling as much as you felt in just a few minutes within being in his presence, it just didn’t seem real, it was pretty much a dream you definitely did not want to wake up from. The way he looked at you, the way he smiled, it all seemed like your mind was playing games on you, or as if you were being filmed and at any time a whole camera crew was going to storm out and tell you it had all been a joke. But none of those things happened.
Tumblr media
Days passed and each time you dropped by the café your heart raced a little in hopes of running into Jungkook one more time, only to feel a pit in your stomach as yet another day passed and not once had he walked through the door.
One Monday morning, a few months after meeting Jungkook, and a few weeks into wrapping your head around the idea that it was pure luck meeting him, and that you’ll most likely never meet him again, Bomi buried his face in your thighs asking for a scratch and you complied, not before the images from that morning came rushing by, the way he seemed so relaxed and happy by the –now almost fully grown– puppy knocking him over; you couldn’t help the smile forming as you quietly asked him “Where do you think Jungkook is, Bomi?”
“I would start by looking up” you jumped in surprise and embarrassment at the voice, but gladly give in with a small smile playing on your lips as you met the dark-haired guy’s eyes looking at you in the softest way possible, and you could swear you heard angels singing as he helped you up from your spot, just the way you did before for him. “I never got to say this but, thank you” you looked at him with a puzzled look “For that day a few months back, I just…” and just like that all his confidence was gone, he wasn’t sure what he had planned to tell you, something along the lines of ‘you’re really cute, please go out with me’ and oversharing his thoughts on how you meeting you was the most beautiful thing that could have happened to him at that moment. He looked down in embarrassment and you suddenly found yourself smiling at him, grabbing his hand in the spark of the moment, making him glance towards you
“I had been waiting for you” he looked puzzled as you said this, and couldn’t help but wonder if any of this was real. It just seemed too much like a drama, he could have sworn he heard some cheesy song blasting through the cafe’s speakers as both of you locked eyes and just stood there, probably looking like idiots to everyone around you; you were the first one to break eye contact as you blushed heavily and placed your eyes on the floor.
Jungkook took a step towards you, softly tucking a strand of hair behind your ear, both of your faces too close to each other, you could have sworn you were getting redder by the second, his left hand still intertwined with yours by your side  “Can I at least get your number this time before I go?”

Humanity has forgotten them, but they will not be forgotten. After the first death in the many years after their disappearance, Death has returned to make the world right again. In an attempt to keep Death from taking lives away, a group of individuals seek them out to stop their acts of injustice, but will they really stop death? -> Warning(s): mild gun violence - there’s a brief fight, character death, character injury, loss, grief, guilt, mild language, mild violence.
Once again, Death will play a major role in this series. This is a sensitive topic, so please use caution!
A/N: This chapter really took me for a spin! I hate writing actions, so this one was a lot of work for me! I am very excited to be posting this. Belle and I really put a lot of thought into this storyline! Also, if you see that I missed anything in my warnings that I should have put, PLEASE do not hesitate to tell me! I’ve spent about 20 minutes trying to make sure I’ve tagged and warned correctly, but I wanna make sure!
And a big, big, big thank you to @multycoloredtaco, @sakuraguks, and my pals in the cypher writers net for helping me out! This chapter was a lot of work, and I’m so happy to be posting it!

After the new Pangea settled into the super continent known today, there was debate across the already established nations on how they should continue to divide. A handful of world leaders at the time wanted to take advantage of the destruction as a way to secure more land to claim as their own in hopes of ruling over all of Pangea one day now that it was a much more achievable means. However, there was still a large portion of the congregation at the time that rejected the idea. If they were to survive as they had before, then they had to accommodate for the new climates and habitual changes that had occurred when the plates shifted.
So, it was decided that they would leave country borders as is, however, there would be major changes to ensure everyone’s safety. Large cities and small towns alike were given materials to construct a protective wall to keep out the large, dangerous animals that were now a threat. No longer would they be known by their previous names, but by specific sanction numbers and providence abbreviation.
In 1,000 years, you’d never traveled anywhere beyond KOR Sanction 34. You have a vague memory of visiting another “country” to visit family, but the memory was so long ago it feels more like a dream than anything. Now, you were traveling on a train going South from the tip of Pangea to the warmer climates below in hopes of making it to ITA Sanction 5,193 in 2 days time.
“I know each and everyone of you will do your best to see that we succeed.” Ambassador Carrol had said as his staff prepared your cars behind him, “I have high hopes for this mission and this team.”
His presence was calming and his fatherly smile quelled your nerves for the impending trip. No one knew how long the mission would last, especially once groups from all over came into contact in hopes of finding a way to end Death’s sudden reign of terror.
“Hoseok. (Y/n).” He called for the two of you as everyone in the group went to the cars. He made sure to isolate you both from his daughter as he carefully waved her off to a designated car. He made sure she was out of ears reach before he turned his attention to the two of you. His confident smile has weakened, “Take care of Lina for me, okay? I know you always do, but please make sure she comes home.”
“We’ll all come home safe and sound.” Hoseok assured him with his radiant heart-shaped smile. Always so confident and sure of himself and others. You knew if you couldn’t take care of Lina while on the trip, he would do anything in his power to bring her back safe, “It’s your plan anyways, so we know it’ll work!”
You had merely nodded in agreement before being ushered into the car with Lina and Bomi, the beautiful sight of city hall fading from view as you drove away.
2 and a half weeks. That’s how long it took to assemble a team after Death’s reappearance and send you on your way with everything that you would need. In that time, the death toll had grown larger, nearing 300,000 people in such a short time. In your life, you couldn’t remember a time when so many people had died, you couldn’t even name 2 people that had died back when it was a normal occurrence. To witness such an atrocity after so many years without a single death, it was a lot to handle. But at least you’d have your friends there with you.
And the new members of your team.
There wasn’t much time to acquaint yourself with the others that had joined the task force when you arrived at City Hall. As soon as you’d arrived at the building, you were all debriefed on the mission with a case file for each of you before you were sent on your way in a government car to the train station. Now, you were left awkwardly sitting on a train car with 3 people that you knew well and 5 people that you’d never met before in your life.
“What do we even do?” You ask, peaking over Hoseok’s shoulder to look at the men spread around the car.
The space itself is very luxurious and spread out, filled with large, brown leather armchairs on swivel bases along the windows up to the back where you sit at a mahogany table with four chairs on each side, a couch just off to the right by the windows before it.
One lone man sat at the front of the car opposite to the door, nursing a glass of what you assumed to be brandy or whiskey in one hand with his eyes shut in content. Two chairs from him, two more men sat opposite to one another. One with blue hair and a boxy smile, and the other a deep chestnut brown with a cheeky grin. They looked to be making small talk with one another, getting excited every so often during their conversation. Finally, there were the two men sitting on the only couch in the car, a blonde with his nose tucked into the manila folder gifted to everyone and a man with purple hair resting his chin on the man’s shoulder - presumably to read along with him.
It wasn’t like you weren’t comfortable working with others on the spot. Working at the hospital, you’d worked plenty of shifts with nurses from all over your hospital, as well as other hospitals within the city. You were more than happy to work in a team, but with these new guys joining your already established group?
Lina spares a glance your way, “We need to read the files my Dad’s team made and make sure we understand them before we make it to ITA Sanction 5,193 to meet with the other teams.” She says, returning to the file in front of her to continue reading through her own manila folder.
“Yeah, I get that part.” You sigh, looking once more to the men behind them. You catch the eyes of the broad shouldered, purple haired man sitting next to a blonde by the window. You keep his gaze until he winks at you, causing you to roll eyes, “I meant them.”
Hoseok laughs, “What are you? 112? They’re just boys, (Y/n).”
“Wow, Hoseok, you’re so funny. Do you do stand-up on weekends too?” Bomi asks, sarcasm evident in her voice. Hoseok himself only pouts, a slight glare pointed back at the woman next to you, “Now, who’s the funny one?”
”Don’t act like children!” Lina scolds, closing her folder for the first time since you’d arrived on the train and sat down at the table. She moves a strand of dirty blonde hair behind her ear, closing her eyes to give herself a moment's peace before speaking again. “We are here to work together for who knows how long, so we’re going to have to introduce ourselves.”
“I’m just concerned to be working with strangers on something like this.” You say, trying to emphasize the importance of the mission you’ve been assigned.
“Then let’s fix that.” You watch as Lina stands from her chair, adjusting her shirt momentarily before placing a hand on Hoseok’s shoulder for balance. “Hey!” She grabs their attention, “Did you guys want to go over this together? We can toss some ideas around and get to know each other while we still can.”
”I was hoping someone would ask!” The bored, purple haired man is fast to stand from his seat and approach the table. “Kim Seokjin-” He grabs the chair next to Lina and pulls it back for him to take a seat next to her, “I volunteered to be here, but I don’t know if there’s much I’ll really be able to help with.”
”(L/n) (Y/n). Nice to meet you.” You say, offering a small nod his way.
Lina takes her seat between him and Hoseok, ”I’m sure there’s something you can do to help.”
Seokjin flashes her an appreciative smile before turning in his seat to look behind him, his eyes landing on the blonde now standing behind him. ”Joon, sit down already.” He says, reaching his arm over the table to pat the empty spot in front of him for the man to sit. “Joon” moves to do so and Seokjin turns to everyone again, a proud smile on his face, “This is my husband.”
Namjoon offers a shy nod and a bashful smile, ”Kim Namjoon. I’m the Research Scientist assigned to the mission.”
”Good to see we have someone that knows what’s going on.” Bomi says.
“Taehyung-” The blue haired man from the center of the car plops down next to you, “I will be your weapons expert for this trip.”
His title takes you by surprise. Why you needed a weapons expert was beyond you, and it seemed like you weren’t the only one. Hoseok speaks up for you, “We need a weapons expert?”
“Did you want to beat Death up in a fist fight?” You turn to see the man from the front of the train leaning against the wall to your left instead of sitting in the chair closest to the table.
“I’ll do it!” The man that sat across from Taehyung slams a hand on the table, making you jump. “Jeon Jeongguk. I’m always ready to throw hands, just name a time and place.”
“Min Yoongi.” The red haired man scans over the table with an unamused expression, “I don’t recommend throwing hands with me if you plan to use them later.”
“Nice to know…” Bomi mutters, pulling a laugh from both you and Namjoon.
“It’s nice to meet you all! I’m Jung Lina and this is my husband Hoseok-” Lina turns to him and he raises a hand, “Good to meet you. We’re both volunteers for the mission.”
Bomi leans forward a bit so the men on the other side of you can see her, “Lee Bomi. I’m a volunteer as well.”
An awkward silence falls over the car, no one really knowing where to go from there. You exchange a glance with Hoseok and turn to the folder you haven’t even touched in front of you. When you signed up for this mission, you forgot that you’d have to revisit teachings that stopped years ago, “So...do we just jump into it?”
Lina is quick to dive in, “Reading over these files, it looks like our main priority should be to take in as much information about Death as possible.” She plays with the folder in front of her, a brief, faraway glance taking over her vision. Hoseok places a hand over hers after noticing her brief silence, pulling her back from her slump. She squeezes his hand and smiles, “I know I myself haven’t thought about Death much since we welcomed the New Age.”
“Agreed. I know a lot of information about Death, but not as much as I hear they do in ITA Sanction 5,193.” Namjoon says, adding in his own two cents, “I heard they still teach about Death in their classrooms.”
“Not every full sanction was as convinced as ours that Death just disappeared.” Yoongi moves closer to the table, choosing to sit on the edge over leaning against the wall, “I’ve been to plenty of sanctions across Pangea and there are plenty that talk about Death more than you would think.”
“You’ve left the KOR Sanctions?! What are you? A government employee?!” Taehyung asks, a new light to his face. Leaving full sanctions is a big deal, mainly only for vacations, work trips, or volunteer work with missionaries. It would seem even “weapons experts” are excluded from that list.
Yoongi gives Taehyung a once over before shrugging, “Sure.”
Jeongguk leans on the table, the cheeky grin you’d seen earlier now resembling that of a child who got a new toy, “Well, I’m no government official or anything, but I’ve been out once or twice myself to visit the other Old Asia Sanctions. A few have a whole festival that celebrates Death!”
“I don’t see what good comes from celebrating a monster...” Bomi says. You can’t really blame her for feeling that way. If you lost your husband like she had, then you’d probably feel the same way.
“Well, maybe we can learn something from them that will be useful.” Lina reaches out and takes Bomi’s hands in her own, giving them a reassuring squeeze. She turns to everyone else at the table and offers a bright smile, “I’m excited to work with all of you!”
“Likewise.” Seokjin nods.

Working with everyone slowly became easier than you thought it would. Everyone at the table had something to offer to the cause, whether it be survival skills with Yoongi and Jin - as he’d prefer to be called - or to communication skills with Lina and Namjoon. Somehow, everyone just seemed to fit into the mold. Even Jeongguk fit in with the weird personality you’d picked up from him, but you could only blame that on Taehyung and Hobi. Even so, it was clear as day why they all were there.
Jeongguk may be overly confident, but that’s what makes him fearless. At least, that’s what you’d picked up from the various stories he’s already told you in the span of 3 hours. Not only that, but every time someone even mentions Death, a light shines in his eyes like a puppy being offered a bone. Having a trained fighter on your side with no fear of jumping in and taking charge is a big plus for your team.
Then there’s Jin and Namjoon. Namjoon is a wonderful asset to the team, bouncing theories and ideas back and forth with Lina so easily. Hoseok would probably be jealous if it weren’t for the fact that Jin has Namjoon wrapped around his finger. In the short time that you’ve all been talking, it’s easy to see that Namjoon finds comfort in his partner. Every time he’d mention a new idea or theory he’d been working on, he’d squeeze Jin’s hands on top of the table. Jin in return would run his thumbs over Namjoon’s knuckles, and you’d see the tension just leave his body. They remind you of Hoseok and Lina.
You almost let Taehyung slide at first. Being a weapons expert seemed simple enough, but his attitude will shift every now and then. For the most part, he’s all smiles and jokes, but he’ll slip into a more serious facade when the conversation shifts to the actual hunt for Death. He and Yoongi seem to be much more alike than you thought they’d be. Especially, since the only time Yoongi talked at all was to go over the plan or demean someone. Not necessarily out of hatred, but more so annoyance than anything. Either way, you’d have plenty of time to figure him out. Or at the very least, get used to him.
You certainly weren’t going to do that over dinner.
It wasn’t like the car you were eating in wasn’t a nice place to start a conversation, but it was surprisingly very packed, to say the least. Talking to anyone about what you were really doing there wasn’t an option, and there was no room to talk about some of their real jobs lest anyone overhear that information. Instead, your dinner was filled with the clatter of plates and utensils, and minor chit chat from everyday life.
Of course, Hoseok was more than happy to rave about everyone of his 127 children, Lina jumping in every now and then to correct him when he’d mess up a detail. But they had Namjoon, Jin, and Taehyung to add in with their own children as well. Namjoon was more than happy to tell the table about his girls, pulling out his wallet to show off the photos he kept there. Of course, Taehyung countered with his own personal photo album dedicated solely to his children - including his pomeranian. At one point, after you’d all moved back to the comfort of the caboose, Bomi even got in on the child praising! But it was easy to tell that it was more of a distraction for her than anything. Even so, it makes you happy knowing she’s still taking care of herself after everything that happened.
Soon enough, everyone but you had retired for the night. For some reason, you just couldn’t convince yourself to sleep. It was like a part of you just wasn’t ready to sleep after the fiasco you’ve been through in the past two and half weeks.
Instead, you opt to change cars, choosing to get a drink or two to coax yourself to relax before the real work begins. At this point in the night, it shouldn’t be a problem to get a quick drink without being bothered by anyone. Hopefully, they’d all be asleep on their arms or returning to their own cabins. However, you’re surprised to see the same red head from earlier perched on a stool. To your knowledge, alcohol was all he’d been drinking since you got on the train. You weren’t one to judge, it’s not like he could really do any major damage.
But still...
You take the seat next to him, setting your card on the counter in front of you. When you don’t see the bartender, you decide that now would be as good a time as any to try and make conversation. “Can’t sleep?”
He takes a sip from his glass, “Sleeping is something I do at my own convenience.”
“Wouldn’t now be convenient?” You ask. When you’re met with a blank stare, you turn to face the wall of liquor in front of you, “Sorry. I’ll be quiet.”
After a couple minutes of awkward silence the bartender comes back from another car and makes his way over to you, “Sorry about the wait. What can I get you?”
“As much as I need a drink, could I bother you for a Coke?” You ask,
“Sure thing.” He turns to grab your drink and you rest yourself on the counter to help yourself relax from such a long day. You’d taken in so much information in such a short span of time. History you’d forgotten existed being shoved down your throat almost as violently as the sudden realization that Death had returned.
Of course, unlike most of the other members in your group, you didn’t have much to worry about. You had your parents to worry about, as well as your god children and their children. But you didn’t have anyone immediate of your own. It was just you. You don’t mind though. You haven’t cared for 1,000 years, so why start now?
Then again, it would be nice to have someone there to comfort you in times like these. Times when you rely on some carbonated liquid to lift you up.
You thank the bartender as he hands you a glass of coke, deciding to leave it resting on the counter before you take a sip. Instead, you let your hands sit on either side of the glass, letting your mind wander in thought as you stare into the dark pool of bubbly liquid.
Do you regret not putting yourself out there to find someone? Sometimes. It wasn’t as if you really needed anyone by your side to make you happy, but it wasn’t as if you never tried. You’d had more than several relationships in your many years of life, and you’d had strong feelings for the other party on many occasions! But living in a world where no one dies, where you can do anything with seemingly no dire consequences...
It’s a world where no one wants or needs to settle down.
A love like Lina and Hobi’s or Namjoon and Jin’s is a love so rare it’s almost unheard of. Even if Jin did mention it took them a few hundred years to find each other, you can’t help but envy them and their happiness together.
Yoongi suddenly stiffens and turns towards you, his right hand covering one of your own, “Do not make any sudden movements.” You freeze. You knew Yoongi was shady, but you didn’t think he was this shady! He’s got you blocked from view of the rest of the car, making sure the only thing you can see is his face and the bartender. Not only that, but his stare is intense and completely focused. If it weren’t for the serious look on his face, you probably would’ve screamed for help.
“I’m going to stand up and you’re going to smile and wish me goodnight. Tell me you’ll see me in a bit and keep doing what you were doing. Do not leave until I come back. Do you understand?” He asks. You nod, trying to turn your surprised expression into a smile. Yoongi wastes no time for you to act the part correctly and stands up, “I’m going to bed.”
“I’m going to stay here a bit longer, but I’ll join you soon.” You say, trying to keep a steady voice. Your left hand is balled in a fist, your own thumb rubbing at your hand to keep yourself calm. You have no idea what changed Yoongi’s mood to suddenly wanting you to pretend you’re buddy-buddy, but you weren’t going to question it. “Sleep well!”
Yoongi leans in close next to your ear, his hand coming to rest on the arm making a fist, “Don’t tell anyone why you’re on this train or who you are. Tell them you don’t want to talk and it’s not any of their business to know. Now, laugh and pretend I told you something funny.”
“I get it! Don’t be vulgar.” You say, faking a laugh and playing along as he asked. To say you were terrified of him leaving you now would be an understatement. You place your free hand on top of the one on your forearm and squeeze, keeping a smile as you face him, “I’ll be there soon. Promise.”
Yoongi nods and walks away. To anyone around you, it looks like a regular interaction, but you know it was an understanding of what you were trying to convey to him. He tells you to do what he says, gives you vague instructions for a hypothetical situation, and then leaves you alone like you couldn’t go with him in the first place? You were going to need a better explanation than that to remain calm, and he better come back soon and explain to you what mood he just went through.
Toughing it up, you return to your drink, choosing to keep your head downcast instead of where people can see it. There were still plenty of people in the room, so anyone one of them could have set him off. The only question is why?
“Mind if I have a seat here?” You turn your head to see a tall man with short black hair swept back out of his face, revealing a scar from his chin to his left temple that cuts through his haughty grin. His green eyes would have held you captivated if not for the clear warning Yoongi had given you about talking to anyone.
“There’s an empty seat over there.” You point to the seat two chairs away, trying your best to be as standoffish as possible. You turn back to your glass of soda and pick it up, trying to keep a steady grip over a hard one. This guy didn’t look sketchy, but if Yoongi wasn’t assigned to your group, then you’d never suspect him either.
The man ignores you, deciding to sit right next to you anyways, “You don’t have to be shy.”
You take a deep breath, refusing to spare another glance at the man, “I’d like to enjoy my drink in peace and quiet, thank you.”
He rests his arm on the counter, moving his face to get closer to yours, “My name’s Im Hajun. You?”
“I’m not looking to make friends.” You say, turning your body away from him.
“C’mon~ Just tell me your name.” He whines.
Persistence will only take a person so far, and this guy was not going to get anywhere if he kept acting like this. Even if Yoongi hadn’t told you not to talk to anyone, you’d still be a little standoffish to this type of advance. Still, you force a polite smile, “Why don’t I buy you a drink and you forget about getting to know me?”
“Playful...I like it.” His cocky smile sends a shiver down your spine. Men like him were what made you curious for a few hundred years. To have your boundaries brushed away like a bug in his shoulder was not what you came to get a drink for. You didn’t sit down for his enjoyment. “Where are you headed?”
“Away.” You respond shortly.
“Really?” He asks.
“Yes.” You nod, taking a sip of your drink to distract yourself.
“Are you here alone?” He asks, leaning in closer to you.
You pull away from him, as far as you can without falling back, “That’s none of your business.”
“You gotta tell me something!”
“I don’t owe you anything. I don’t know you.” You remind him.
“Just tell me why you’re going to the ITA Sanctions!” His outburst makes you pause. This train makes several stops along the way, so how does he know you’re getting off in the ITA Sanction?
“Baby.” You turn away from the man in front of you to face Yoongi who’s changed from the nice clothes he was wearing earlier. Sporting jeans, a grey tee, and a leather jacket, he stands just a few feet away from you.
You glance over his new appearance, “I thought you were going to bed.”
“I want to talk to you...about what I said earlier.” His hands are inside of his jacket pockets, the one on the right hanging out just a bit more than the one in his left, “I’m sorry.”
“It’s okay. Let’s go back to the room and talk.” You leave the glass in your hand on the counter and move yourself to hop down. As you turn, you look to Hajun, “Sorry to cut- uh...this short.”
He nods, “Nice talking to you.”
You hop down from your stool and join Yoongi, his left arm leaving his pocket to wrap over your shoulder and pull you closer to him to his into your ear, “I told you not to talk to him.”
“I didn’t tell him anything!” You whisper back. You enter into the next car holding your cabins and see light at the end of the hall in the caboose, “Why is everyone in the other car?”
Yoongi ignores your question, leading you to your cabin three doors from the end of the car, “Get your stuff. Pack light.”
The door closest to the last car opens and Taehyung steps out, carrying a medium sized handgun in his right hand and a bag on his back, “Why is Taehyung walking around with a gun?!”
“No time to ask questions! Now, move!” Yoongi pushes you into your car by the small of your back, causing you to stumble for a moment. You want answers, but you’ll have to do what he asks first. You grab the backpack that held your laptop and pull it onto your bed, deciding to fill it with a change of clothes, your medical bag, and a few toiletries. You had a feeling you weren’t staying on this train.
“Done?” Yoongi asks as you pull your bag onto your back. You nod and he takes your arm, “Let’s go!”
He exits the room first, pulling you along behind him into the narrow corridor. As soon as you're both out in the open, the car door at the opposite end of the car slides open. You turn to look, and catch a small glimpse of another gun before you're pushed back into your cabin. You fall to the floor with Yoongi’s body covering your own, shots ringing out from both sides of the train car. Your face is tucked into his chest with his forearms resting at the top of your head to shield you from any stray bullets.
“Are you okay?” He asks, unmoving from your current position.
“Classify ‘okay’!” You yell back, voice muffled by the closeness of his body.
“Ah, good, you’re fine.”
‘Fine? Did he really just say that to you?!’ You wonder. You were slowly starting to figure out why Yoongi’s job was so secretive, and a part of you wished you’d never been so curious.
“As soon as I land a hit on this guy, you need to run!” You hear Taehyung call out as the bullets continue to ricochet off the walls of the outside corridor.
Yoongi removes himself from you and crawls to the door, keeping himself low and close to the ground, “C’mon, we need to be ready.”
“Are you crazy?!” You ask. Did he really expect you to just run in the middle of gun fire? “No way!”
He glares at you, “You can run when we get an opening or you can stay here and die. I couldn’t care either way, I’m just trying to be nice and do my job.” You didn’t like how blunt he was. Nor did you like how willing he was to let you die. He’s a teammate, but he’s willing to leave you behind? You’d have to really listen to him if you don’t want to end up dead.
Two last shots ring out before you hear a thud followed by silence, “C’mon! I’ll hold it!” Taehyung calls out. Yoongi takes your arm to pull you out again when another shot rings from the end of the hall, stopping the both of you before you can make it out the doorway.
“God damnit!” Yoongi yells. He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a handgun of his own, reaching his arm around the doorway and just peeking over to see the other gunman, “Piece of shit!”
“Why are they shooting at us?!” You ask, clinging onto Yoongi’s jacket.
“Do I look like I fucking know?!” He asks, pausing his shooting to glare at you before returning to the matter at hand. He and Taehyung fire a few more rounds until the gunfire from the opposite end stops.
“They’re pulling back!” Taehyung yells.
Yoongi doesn’t waste a second to grab you again, “This is our chance!” You both run from your cabin to the car door where Taehyung awaits with his gun. The area surrounding the door frame is covered in bullet holes; however, Taehyung himself doesn’t seem to have a scratch on him.
“(Y/n)!” Bomi yells from behind a chair as you enter the room.
“I’m fine,” You assure her. At least on the outside you can say you’re okay. In your head, your thoughts race a mile a minute trying to comprehend what just happened. How did that guy know where you were going? Why do Yoongi and Taehyung have guns on them? You didn’t mind so much given the fact that they saved your life, but they shouldn’t have had to do that.
Yoongi removes himself from your grip - one you didn’t realize you even had on him, “Let’s get the car uncoupled before they come back with more ammunition, there’s no telling how long they-”
Yoongi is cut off by an object flying through the window, a light beeping noise and red glow coming from the small object. You have a good idea of what it is, but Taehyung seems to know exactly what it is as he picks it up and throws it back through the window, “Get down!”
You reach out for a chair in front of you, but your body pushes itself forward before you can grab it. You feel your body fly into someone else's, knocking you both into the hard wood of the table at the end of the car. You feel warm and cold at the same time, a slight breeze rushing over your face. A window had to be open, but you can’t hear the rumble of the train over the buzzing in your ears. Your senses feel muffled and overstimulated, leaving you feeling as if you’re walking on a boat in the middle of a storm with nothing holding you down to the boat deck.
You feel yourself slide back into something solid and cold, a dead weight landing on your chest. The sensation of your falling backwards with your stomach dropping to its lowest point pulls you down headfirst with the weight on your chest rolling off your body to cushion your next fall.
You’re falling.
Falling with someone.
You’re playing a game of tag as you go back and forth cushioning the fall for one another until it stops and you’re left laying on top. It’s dark and your ears hurt, most likely from the explosion that pushed you into whoever you’ve landed on. If you were like this, then the others were probably just as bad. You have to get to them and make sure they’re okay.
You have to help them...

“..hey…”
The darkness that covers your vision is familiar, almost like a haze of fog on an early Sunday morning after a fresh rainfall. Something you hadn’t even thought about in a very long time.
“..(Y/n)...wake up..”
The voice is familiar. You’ve heard it before, but where?
“..has a pulse…..grab snow...put it down her shirt...” Another voice adds in.
Yoongi.
The train.
The explosion.
Your group.
You force your eyes open, meeting the harsh shine of a flashlight. Behind it, you see the outline of Namjoon as he sits off to your right in the dim moonlight. You can’t see much of him - even with the glow of more flashlights behind him- but he looks to be in good enough shape. Even if he has an injury, he still manages a relieved smile in the limited lighting you can see him with, “There you are. I thought you’d never wake up.”
“Is everyone okay?” You ask, voice hoarse and groggy. You took quite the beating before you passed out, you can only guess what kind of injuries you must have with the headache resting at the top of your neck. Surely, others had it worse than you did. You push yourself to sit up with help from Namjoon. You look around, seeing outlines of others, but not seeing who is who,  “Lina! Bomi! Hoseok!”
“We’re okay!” Hoseok calls out from another side of the car. Namjoon shines his light to him to give you a better look, placing Hoseok in the middle of the train using a slightly broken chair to lean his back against. The light shows off a bruise forming on his jaw, just slightly glistening in the light. He turns his head away from the shine, wincing as it hits his eyes. He seemed to be coherent enough, but he most likely has a concussion at best. His right hand rests on a pair of legs behind him, most likely Lina’s, “We’re just...getting used to our new surroundings.”
“I’m okay..” Bomi groans, peeking her head around the chair Hoseok leans against. She looked to have a few scrapes of her own. As soon as you’re able to pull yourself together, you’ll have to walk around and assess everyone’s injuries to make sure they’re okay. You have no clue how far the train fell, nor do you have any idea how long you’ve been out. If anyone’s injuries were fatal, you could be too late at this point.
“We should do that again!” You hear Jeongguk say from across the train.
“Are you serious?” Namjoon asks, pointing the flashlight in his direction over Hoseok’s. He - just like the others - had injuries of his own. His face looked to be fine, and he didn’t seem to have any bruising on the appendages visible to you. You’d have to really look him over when you find the will to stand.
However, Jeongguk didn’t seem to have any remorse for the statement he made. He looked more excited than anything, “Hell yeah!”
You feel someone stand, seeing Jin move with a slight limp into the light where Jeongguk is, “Someone give me a gun. I just wanna shoot him.”
“Nobody is shooting anyone!” Lina yells.
Figuring now was the best time, you add in your own thoughts, “I want to know why they were shooting at us!”
“Yoongi, you didn’t tell her?” Taehyung asks, his body partially being uncovered by the flashlight still focused on the man-child wanting to roll down the hill again. He was standing, but he looked to be leaning against something as well. Most likely another person based on how he teeters in and out of the light.
“Sorry, should I have told her in between the gunshots or while we were taking cover from the explosion?!” Yoongi scoffs, his voice coming from the shadow holding Taehyung. The both of them were closest to the explosion with you, but they both probably had fast enough reflexes to grab something unlike you.
Did you know that guy?” You force yourself to stand, ignoring the pain in your back and chest as you stretch out.
“That’s not important right now.” Yoongi pushes from the darkness into the light so everyone can see him. He still has his bag on him, but it looks to be torn in a few spots, “We need to gather our stuff, make sure everyone can move, and get the hell out of here before they come to make sure we’re dead.”
“Dead?” Bomi asks.
Taehyung looks over to her, squinting to see her in the darkness, “Why else would they be shooting at us?”
“Facism?!” You answer.
Yoongi glares in your direction and adjusts the bag on his back, “Let’s not waste anymore time and get moving.”
Not wanting to anger the man who saved your life, you follow his lead. You - as well as Bomi - take some time to look over everyone before you all move out, cleaning up any scrapes or cuts and securing any hurting limbs. Debris from the wreck was collected and placed into bags, stored away for later if needed. Some of it came in handy for creating a makeshift brace for Jin - lucky for him. Any head injuries couldn’t be helped, but at least no one had any broken bones. For now, it would be enough to start.
Under the cover of night, Yoongi leads your group back up the hill with Taehyung taking the back. Over the broken trees and melted snow - stopping occasionally so everyone stays with the group - you all make your way back up the hill and cross the train tracks where you first went over the side. The debris from your cabins lay scattered across the winter snow and metal tracks, the beverage car you’d been in earlier that night sits just around the edge of the turn.
“They probably uncoupled the car before setting off the explosion,” Taehyung explains, watching Jeongguk and Hoseok follow Yoongi to collect anything they could salvage for the rest of your trip. He turns to you, a gun you didn’t know he had casually hanging at his side. He smirks in the low glow of the moonlight, “They probably weren’t expecting me to throw it back.”
You take a moment to think before answering him. You’d been through a lot in one night, and the events from the past 2 weeks were still weighing on you. However, at this moment in time, you felt more numb than anything. You sigh, “I don’t think anyone would expect you to grab a live explosive with your bare hands and throw it.”

Trekking through cold winter snow was not a part of the plan. It was never on the agenda, and no one had packed for this weather. It wasn’t necessarily harsh or overbearing, but the climate was still killing your stamina. It didn’t help that most of you were starting to feel the effects of your injuries after hours of walking. It would seem you weren’t the only one feeling the same way.
Bomi stops walking, causing those behind her to stop as well, “We shouldn’t put so much stress on our bodies after an accident like that. We should rest for a bit.”
Yoongi continues walking without sparing a glance behind him, “Well, unless you want to die from a bullet wound, we’ll keep going.”
“Do we really know that they’re going to come back for us?” Hoseok asks, watching Yoongi’s back as he continues to walk ahead of you.
“My body isn’t really bulletproof, so I don’t want to take any chances.” Seokjin says. He was probably hurt the most besides you and Namjoon. If anyone needed to take a break it was Seokjin, but you can’t really blame him for not wanting to take a chance.
On the other hand, you knew better than anyone what hidden injuries could do if not treated properly or as soon as possible, “We won’t know the extent of everyone’s injuries if we don’t take a break and rest soon.”
Yoongi stops walking to turn and look at everyone, “We’ll rest as soon as we get far enough away from the train cars.”
“Shouldn’t we have followed the tracks? Or maybe a stream or something?” Namjoon asks.
Jeongguk scoffs, “Dude, following the tracks is the sure fire way to get us caught if someone is following us.”
“It’s best if we head Northeast away from the tracks. That’ll take us towards the outer CHN Sanctions and we can find a smaller train back to KOR Sanction 34.” Taehyung explains.
“We’ll still have to change to a larger train to get into the city.” Lina says.
Yoongi sighs and turns back around to continue walking, “We’ll deal with that when we get there.”
So, the journey continues with everyone trudging along. Even as the sun begins to rise into the sky and stomachs begin to ache, Yoongi refuses to stop. If you weren’t scared by the notion of someone chasing you down with a gun, you probably would’ve stopped a while ago to ice your bruised midsection. But your survival skills were not as strong as your medical abilities, and if you wanted to make it to a safe, warmer space, then you’d have to continue following behind Yoongi to get to where you need to go. Thankfully, you didn’t have to go much further.
Yoongi stops at the top of the hill you all climb, having taken the lead. He turns to everyone and nods, “We can rest here.”
As you finish climbing the hill covered in a thin coat of snow, you all come to the entrance of a cave covered in shards of ice and frozen snow. The large, frozen crystals hang off the cave’s mouth like jewels on a wealthy woman’s neck. Just below the longest shard, loose powder can be seen dusting the rock floor inside and disappearing into the darkness of the cavern.
“Are you sure?” Hoseok asks.
“We’re up high enough and far enough from a real trail that anyone walking won’t be able to smell clearly anymore.” He explains, “We can make a small camp here, rest until tomorrow morning, and continue on foot to the next town.”
“You’re very knowledgeable in things like this...” Namjoon points out, looking Yoongi up and down, “You knew that guy was a hitman that was supposedly locked up, and you’ve been carrying a gun this whole time.”
There were only so many jobs that would give someone access to that kind of information and resources. After spending the past few hours really getting to see him in action, there was no doubt what Yoongi’s job really was.
Hoseok meets Yoongi’s eyes, “You’re a hit man too.”
He only shrugs in return, “I’d like to think of myself as a lethal bounty hunter.”
“Your whole personality is really starting to come together.” Bomi mumbles.
You all enter the cave, ducking under the large crystals and stepping into a narrow cavern. Yoongi turns on his flashlight, showing off a tunnel leading to another opening, “We should head further into the cave so we don’t attract any large animals.”
You all follow Yoongi further into the cavern, two more flashlights roaring to life from Namjoon and Jeongguk. When you reach the next opening, you’re shocked to see the much larger cavern that opens for you, illuminated in a soft blue from spare light that hits the ice lining the cave’s walls. At the far end of the shaft, are two more dark tunnels leading further into the cave.
“I think we’ll be safe in here.”
Namjoon removes his bag and hands it over to Jin, “We should see about finding dry wood for a fire or collecting snow for drinking water.”
“I’ll come help.” Taehyung says. He pulls off his own bag and turns to you, “Can you take this for me?”
“Sure.” You take his bag, struggling at first to keep it from falling from it’s unexpected weight. You had an idea as to what Taehyung had stored in his bag, and it wasn’t spare clothes or toiletries. It makes you wonder why he hasn’t asked for a break sooner, though there is another part of you that probably doesn’t want to know or imagine why in the first place.
It didn’t take long for them to come back with a pile of sticks and snow for the group. After they returned it was a lot easier for everyone to settle down after a long morning of walking. Taehyung made sure to bring as much snow as he could carry for you and Bomi to tend to the small injuries from the crash, and Yoongi helped Namjoon get a fire started as soon as he set the wood he found on the cavern floor. They were taking this situation in fairly well considering the circumstances, and that alone scared you. Granted, Seokjin was also calm and Lina and Hobi were huddled together talking among themselves, but all three were very level-headed and knew this wasn’t the time to start freaking out.
Next to you, Bomi sits with her back flat against the floor staring off into the space above her. You can’t help but wonder what’s going through her mind at a time like this after losing so much already.
“Hey, you okay?” You ask, placing a gentle hand on her arm.
Her body jerks at the contact, dark brown eyes looking to your hand and then to you, “Huh-?” She tilts her head in confusion and then a look of understanding comes to her face. She gives you a smile, “Oh! Yeah, I’m fine!” She turns back to the ceiling of the cave and you watch as her smile becomes forced, “I just need some rest is all.”
It doesn’t take a lot to tell that she’s not okay, but you know better than to pry at a moment like this. Instead, you muster your own sincere smile, “Okay, just let me know if you need anything. We have a lot of walking to do.”
Maybe if she hadn’t lost her husband, if you hadn’t been targeted, if you hadn’t been in a train accident, if you hadn’t been walking all day in the cold you would have asked if she was okay. But you didn’t want to bombard her and add another stress on top of her pre-existing ones.
Bomi smiles in your direction again, this time more sincere, “Of course. You get some rest too.” You nod, taking one last look over the room of everyone else who seems to be doing the same before settling yourself on the cave floor with your head on your bag and closing your eyes.
“Hey!” Bomi calls. You open your eyes to see her staring back, “Thanks for looking out for me.”
“Anytime.”
You can’t help but let your mind wander to yesterday. You had been so sure of this trip yesterday morning, so sure that this would be the best decision you’ve made in hundreds of years. But with the events of last night and the high tension of trying to survive in an area where winter was at its peak, it’s hard to truly let your mind rid itself of the fears ahead of you.

"This next one will be easy." A man whispers, his words so clear it feels as though he’s right next to you.
"And if not?" A more delicate voice asks.
"More fun." The first voice growls, his tone making him sound so pleased with himself you can almost see the invisible grin.
They’re both so close, yet you know they’re distant. The anxiety within you pulses as you recognize both owners from that very first night.
You bolt up, having willed yourself awake in hopes that what you’ve heard is a nightmare. However, as you look around the fire it’s easy to see that the other’s have heard their whispers as well.
A dark chuckle resonates in your ears, "Its heart beats fast now!"
"It knows..." The more feminine of the two voices taunts, "Your time has come."
Everyone looks to each other, none of them coming to the realization of what’s happening around them. It’s hard to tell if the voices are far or close now that they echo off the cave walls. However, chills run down your spine as the gruff voice of the male resonates off the walls again, much closer than anyone had realized, "Ready or not!"
“Go.” Yoongi demands, jumping from his spot on the floor, “Everybody, go now!”
Chaos ensues as everyone grabs their things, shoving whatever they may have taken out back into their bags. The dim embers of your fire are easily forgotten as Jeongguk and Namjoon lead the way to venture further into the cave away from the taunting voices that follow you. Yoongi takes up the rear to cover the path behind you.
"We have your name." The ghostly woman calls, a hint of pleasure laced in her voice as you all move through the unknown caverns. There’s another area, another open source of light if you can just move faster.
"And your scent!" The man yells.
Their voices never seem to waver, never falter. It’s impossible for them to be right behind you, but you can’t help but feel as if they’re right on your heels. The light is so close, but there’s something keeping you back. Something that only has you moving slower.
Someone that can’t move any faster.
You stop for just a moment to turn around, seeing Bomi stumble over herself as Yoongi tries to hold her up, “Bomi! Let’s go!”
She stops when she reaches you, her hands forming a loose grip on your arms, “(Y/n)...I can’t…”
“We have to move!” You remind her. You can hear how weak she is, you can feel it in her grip as she tries to hold onto you. Even so, now is not the time for her to stop moving.
Yoongi takes Bomi by the arm and firmly pushes your shoulder, “Stop standing around and get moving!”
“She’s hurt, we have to help her.” You argue, trying your best to keep your friend up on her feet.
Yoongi groans in frustration, “Open your eyes! They’re here for her!”
“Shouldn’t we try and stop them?!” You ask. You know he’s right. Every part of you knows he’s right but it doesn’t change the part of you that knows you can’t leave her.
“We don’t know how to kill them!” He tries to remove Bomi’s hand from your arm, but you grab her wrist to keep her close, “Shoot them!”
“I’m working with the dumbest people alive.” He mutters under his breath.
Within a moment, you’re taken by surprise. Bomi’s hands are ripped off of you as another hand takes the back of your shirt and pushes you forward again, rougher than the first time Yoongi had done so. You try to fight against him, but the lean man is much stronger than he looks.
“Hey! NO!” You yell, pushing back against him to go back. His grip only tightens on your clothing as his pace picks up. You have no choice but to match his pace even as you try to wiggle free, “Let me go! We have to help her! BOMI!”
“You’ll die too if you don’t move your feet!” Yoongi warns.
Tears stream down your face as you move forward, hearing the dark voice of the man again, “The scent’s grown stronger Lamb, but this one’s become yours.”
“Oh, how sweet it is to end the suffering life brings.” His partner responds, sounding almost satisfied with what they were implying.
Yoongi doesn’t let you go until you’ve hit the next part of the cavern that’s gifted with light, pushing you in front of him towards the rest of the group.
“There. You can thank me later.” He says, voice void of any emotion.
“I can thank you later?!” You ask in utter disbelief. You could understand his strange behavior on the train to save everyone, his reasoning for wanting to keep moving in the mountain was justified, but leaving Bomi behind didn’t have to be an option! “You let them kill her!”
He shrugs his shoulders, “She was dying anyways!”
“We could’ve saved her!” You argue. He saved your life at the cost of Bomi’s! If he had picked her up instead of you then you could’ve saved her! He let her go!
“Oh, really?! Enlighten me! How could we have saved her?” He asks, eyes turned into slits as he glares at you. It wasn’t hard to tell he didn’t take you seriously, that Death held nothing against him like it did you. He didn’t care. “Stop acting like a fucking child and open your eyes to what’s going on around you! I’ve saved your life twice and I won’t be doing it again!”
Your rage and grief morph into one, clouding your judgement in your current situation. You can’t help but run at him, resolving to take your guilt out on him even if deep down you know he was in the right to pull you away. You don’t care if you look like a total lunatic as you scream and throw your hands at him, fists clenched and ready to make contact with the stubborn man who claims to hunt others. Even when he grabs your wrists to hold you away and fight against your kicks powered by your own sadness, you don’t stop your outburst until someone grabs your waist from behind.
“(Y/n)! Stop it!” Hoseok scolds, pulling your smaller frame away from Yoongi who doesn’t even look like he broke a sweat during the ordeal. He just casts his eyes away from yours and walks away as you continue to thrash in the arms of your friend. “(Y/n), this won’t bring her back! You need to knock it off and get it together!”
Your thrashing ceases as it all comes crashing down around you. You’d learned about the 5 stages of grief when it came to relationships, but never before did you think they could wash over you as fast as they did. Perhaps part of it was from Hansol’s death hitting you as well, but the fact that you were right there with Bomi and you let her go seemed to be what hurt you the most.
“I asked her to be here,” You fall lax in Hoseok’s arms and let it all flow out of you, “This is my fault…”
“This isn’t your fault…” You feel the man sigh from behind you and pull you closer, his chin resting on your shoulder, “Bomi volunteered with you because she wanted to. If she didn’t want to come, then she wouldn’t have signed up. She knew this could be dangerous.”
“We didn’t even make it to our first stop, Hobi!” You cry, hands flying to cover your face as more tears fall from your eyes.
Another hand places itself on your shoulder, Lina making herself known by gently stroking a small area with her thumb, “I know this isn’t easy, but we have to focus on doing what we can for everyone.”
You know she’s right. You know that in this situation you have no choice but to move on as if nothing happened, even if that choice makes you sick to your stomach. It feels so wrong to just walk away, to from the path you had come from and left her behind. But if you don’t turn away, then what more will you be risking? What will you risk when you finally face everyone else?
Against your own emotions, you turn around. You see the somber expressions of both Hoseok and Lina in the dim lighting the hole in the cave’s ceiling provides you, the small trails still damp on Lina’s cheeks glistening like the tears that refuse to fall from her husband’s. Bomi wasn’t just your friend. She was their friend too. And though you felt all the guilt in the world for dragging her along and allowing Yoongi to pull you away, they felt the same guilt that you did for not being able to help her.
Hoseok - the radiant ball of sunshine that he is - pulls the both of you into a firm hug, “We’ll honor her as soon as we get home and solve everything. She’s gone, but we won’t forget her.”
“I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this cave doesn’t have another opening.” Jeongguk says. The three of you pull away from each other to look at him, noticing the distress written across his face.
The new area surrounding you is mainly lit where you stand and the area surrounding a small pool of water in the center of the room. Two flashlights still glow behind Jeongguk on the other side of the pool, probably continuing the search for any other way out. Part of you is tempted to find out if the pool goes anywhere, but you know you’ll probably die of hypothermia before you can find out.
“You’ve gotta be kidding me…” Seokjin - who stands closest to the pool of water - sighs, “Where are we supposed to go? What if they don’t go away?!”
“Well, we can’t stay here to find out. We’re sitting ducks!” Hoseok reminds everyone.
“Do you feel it, Lamb?” The man’s voice asks, sending shivers down your spine.
“Do I feel the fear?” His partner asks in return. It’s strange how in so little time you’ve become used to their mannerisms. It’s so easy to tell how pleased they are to be taunting you. “I do. Doesn’t it just make your entire being flutter?”
“They’re afraid.” His voice growls in return.
Lina grabs both your and Hoseok’s hands and tugs them towards the other side of the pool where the other’s have unconsciously began to congregate, “We can’t stay here!”
“Where are we supposed to go?” Taehyung asks, the weapon he once held loosely at his side now held firm in front of him.
The soft voice of the woman draws near, “Every elongated step I take fills me with their anticipation for what’s to come.”
“They’re not suffering enough, Lamb.” Her friend complains.
“But Wolf, this suffering is my kind of fun.” Her reply only confirms your suspicion of their enjoyment in your pain. Her deranged excitement reminds you of a child.
“Lina…” Hoseok pulls his wife closer to him, tucking her into his side as if that would shield her from whatever stalks closer to you.
She - in response - is more determined to move, “We can’t back down now, Hobi. Can they really catch all of us?” She asks, confident on the balls of her feet, yet still so unsure of any plan to escape.
“Aren’t they spirits or something?” Taehyung asks.
Yoongi nods, his own weapon having made an appearance in his hands, “That’s probably something they can do.”
Jeongguk interlocks his fingers together and pushes them in front of himself to crack them, pulling them back into fists. With a quick nod of his head from side to side, he grins, “Well, I’m sure I can still show them the old razzle-dazzle.”
“Why don’t you ask them?” Jin asks.
The hair on the back of your neck stands tall, goosebumps popping to the top of your skin. In the short amount of time you spent planning and debating your escape, the beings hot on your trail had made their entrance. Stood in the entryway to the cavern, still tucked away in the shadows you see them.
They found you.

||||
||||
||||
Bomi no sabía qué decir.
