Eobard Thawne - (Flash) AU Chapter 5
Tumblr media
For the next couple of weeks, you’re distant. You’d confided in Iris and asked if they could all just give you space to figure out what was happening. You couldn’t deal with any more surprises right now. You were barely keeping it together managing a college class. Luckily this version of you kept excellent notes.
“Just saying that sounds crazy.”
There is no other version of you. It’s obvious that your decision has created a new reality. So while they believe they were with someone this entire time, it’s just the end product of the universe filling a hole.
After a day of fumbling around in the class, you were finally relieved. Teaching was a lot harder than it looked. You’re packing up your items when you hear the door open.
“I’m sorry the class is over.” You advise.
“I’m aware.”
The familiar voice of Joe West has you lifting your head. He walks down the short flight of steps, and you swallow.
A part of you had been keeping a distance because these aren’t the people you know. You thought that if you stay away, then maybe you wouldn’t have to think about the pain you experience every time you remember that you may never see your friends again.
Joe is standing right in front of you now. You take a step back.
“I should have come to see you sooner. When Iris told me you needed time I lectured myself to stay away. I guess the paternal side won.” He gives a short laugh and you swallow. You aren’t sure what to say.
How to feel.
“I understand that everything is different. But regardless of the timeline, I’ll always be there for you. You’re my daughter (Y/N). I love you, we all do.”
Hearing those words sort of break you on the inside. You speed away in a flash of pink sparks. Joe looks around, running a hand over his head.
Your running only halts when you get to an abandoned warehouse.
You scream.
“DAMN IT!!!”
Why were you being punished like this?
What had you done to deserve this?
All you wanted was to help Barry and the others survive. You wanted to help. But being here was painful. The constant reminder that you were alone, even surrounded by different versions of the people that you love.
Even Joe West here was the same. It appears that he’d taken the mantle of raising you the same way your reality of him had.
Although you’d met Joe later in your life, he was there for you. So many times when you were struggling or needed inspiration. When a fight had gone wrong. Joe stepped in to be a voice of reason for everyone. He was an extraordinary man. In every reality it seems. You laugh through the tears of the irony of your situation. It’s ridiculous to get so emotional. At least in this reality all your friends weren’t your enemies.
Life could be worse.
You wipe your eyes, walking around in a circle to calm yourself down.
It was reckless running out like that.
Your head turns when you see the familiar streaks of red.
“(Y/N) are you alright!! Joe called and he said that you were..”
His words die down when he stops rambling. Taking in your state. He keeps his distance. Eobard pulls himself together. He finally gets a proper breath.
“Is everything okay?” His tone is much calmer.
“I’m okay. Seeing him so suddenly was just a lot to process. But I’m fine.” Eobard nods.
“I understand.”
He looks around.
“Do you..do you want to walk back with me?” His hesitancy isn’t what you expect. Every time you look at his face, you sort of prepare yourself for that devious smile. Those red eyes. But each time, all you can see is care and worry. It leaves your mind in disarray.
How was it possible for you to not see a killer when you looked at him?
It’s not easy.
“I’ll walk back with you.” Your tone is soft.
“Alright.” He turns a bit slowly, walking and you follow behind. You’re still a couple paces behind him. But he can hear your steps, so he’s relieved.
With all the change that you’ve encountered, a part of you is curious about your relationship.
“What were we to each other?” His body grows stiff, and his pace slows just a little.
“What do you mean?”
“Are we just friends?”
You want to know more. Because it may be the first step in figuring this out. In the event that you can’t get back, you’ll need to find a way to live here and not have a constant panic.
“Why do you think we were more than friends?”
“Because of the way you keep looking at me.”
He stops, and so do you. Eobard turns.
Maybe this is why you’ve been so unnerved. This man is wearing the face of the person you’ve hated for so long. Yet everytime he looks at you, there’s no hate. Just warmth.
“Would it make much of a difference? We were enemies as far as you remember. What good would it do if I told you more.”
“I’m not sure.” To be honest you’re just reaching. It’s possible that he doesn’t have that type of relationship.
“Just forget that I-”
He’s right in front of you, and you jolt. When his hand lays on your cheek, every part of you freezes.
“It would be stupid for me to hope for more when you can barely be within two feet of me without looking like I’ll strike you down.”
You gulp.
You’re scared, maybe terrified. Your heart is going far too quickly.
But you can’t truly differentiate why.
He’s proven that he means no harm. But your body is conditioned to fear that face.
His face.
“If I were in love with you would that make a difference?”
It sounds like a plea.
He knows it’s a bad idea. You look so startled, but he can’t help himself. He’s spent years pining after you. Hoping for more. Just recently he thought he’d made progress. The both of you grew closer. But now that all has fallen away and it hurts. So is it not justified that he should be just a bit selfish? He leans in, nothing but his racing heart in his ears.
His lips press gently to yours.
He expects you to push him away. Punch him. Slap him. Something. But for the first few seconds, you don’t move. He’s not even certain that you’re breathing.
Just as he decides to pull away and save face, your hands move down his shoulder. You lightly grip the lapels of his coat, and you reciprocate the kiss. He’s anything if not surprised. You lean into him, and his arms wrap around your waist.
“Is this real..?”
He’s not certain. But it feels that way.
Your lips part for the split of a second, and he can’t seem to stop himself. He deepens the kiss. Unsteady hands venture around his neck and into his hair.
“How does she know..”
That’s a weak spot, because when you tug lightly, he moans.
Eobard is the one to pull back. You’re both equally as winded.
There is still a bit of chaos in your eyes. But behind that he can see the silent plea.
“Please don’t break me..”
You don’t say those words, he can read it from the vulnerability in your eyes.
“I won’t hurt you.”
He says aloud. You say nothing, just hug him.
It’s possible that you’re still lost, terribly confused. But you’re putting your faith in his words, and it makes him feel happier than he ever thought he would feel.
He just holds you, because at that moment. You both need it.

You Are Not Alone.
One never realizes how much they truly miss someone when something happens, good or bad. And the only person they would want to tell is the one person that was no longer there. Alex Danvers was a loving and protective older sister. She was a beloved daughter. A friend. She was Kara’s whole world. Someone Kara looked up to even as Supergirl.
Yet, at this very moment - Alex was missing. The one person Kara needed in her life was gone.
Her arms pushed forward, using as much energy as she could. The wind whipping through her hair. Determined to figure out the truth. She had no clue how this happened or why, but Kara needed answers. Flying across Central City in a hurry, the only thing on her mind was her sister. She needed to find whoever took her sister before any more harm was done. Even though Alex was only human, she was one hell of a fighter. Alex had to hang on a little bit longer. She just had to.
Discreetly, Kara landed on her feet, fixing herself before quickly running into the building that housed Central City’s Police Department. With her CatCo ID badge, she quickly made her way through the building and to the only person she trusted within the CCPD. Detective Joe West. The man that treated Barry like his own son. The man who Barry swore Kara could trust if anything went wrong and he was unavailable.
Oh, how Kara wished she had her superfriend right now.
Everything was a blur. Kara was standing in a room with Joe as he spoke about the whereabouts of Alex. The last camera footage they had on her. What she was wearing. The reason she was in Central City. Everything swirled in her mind. The blonde reporter brought her slender digits up to the bridge of her nose, pinching it ever so lightly. Everything he was saying was too much. Kara could not live a life where her sister was not in it. She did not want to. Even superheroes have their weaknesses. Kryptonite may have been Supergirl's weakness, but losing her family was Kara’s weakness.
“Kara.. I know this is a lot to take in..” Joe’s voice was soothing. Almost like Jeremiah’s. Unfortunately, Jeremiah was lost and gone. Left for dead. But Joe was here. The one man Barry trusted more than anything. The one man she had gotten to know because of the West-Allen family. Someone who reminded her a lot like J’onn.
A friend. A mentor. A father figure.
Heavy tears formed in the blonde's eyes. Blurring her vision. The shake of her head was all she could muster. This was not supposed to be her life. She did not ask for this. Or did she? So much has changed. Kara was supposed to be a reporter at CatCo. And here she was, thrown into a whirlwind of lies, destruction, and utter agony. Kara had a love-hate relationship with karma. Ever since revealing herself to the National City, there had been nothing but havoc.
“I used to want to save the world…” Her voice was soft, quiet, and broken. Staring off into the distance. “To make a difference. To end the simplest of wars and bring peace to mankind..” Kara was hesitant. Her head shook as she took off her glasses. The one disguise that she had. Joe’s eyes went from her, to the paper in front of him. The click of the pen was all that was heard before he placed the pen down on the table. Simply listening to her. Pain and guilt filled the female, “I even glimpsed into the darkness that lives within the light… but only through the eyes of Cat Grant… How am I-?” Her breath was caught in her throat.
Kara was filled with self doubt. She had no idea how much pain both cities had endured since her arrival. Was it truly her fault? Did she truly cause devastation across National City? Did she truly become lost within herself? How could she possibly right the wrongs she had done? How could she save her own sister, especially in a city that was so foreign to her?
“Joe...” Green-blue optics moved to him; finally breaking. “I don't even know who took her… in- in Central City - a place for the Flash.. Not.. Supergirl..” Speechless and truly in shambles, Kara continued. “How am I supposed to continue being this hero.. When I do not even know if I am doing anything right to help my own sister?”
Joe’s eyes met hers. Finally, he stood, walking over to her. A small smile was planted on his face. At times like these, he learned to be the strong one. He had to hold it together so that those before him did not crumble beneath his feet. Kara was a lot like Barry and he admired her for that. No wonder they called each other superfriends. “The hardest thing you are going to face is not some monster out there with powers. It is going to be that feeling of uselessness when you cannot do anything alone…” He spoke, “You are not alone in this fight, Kara Danvers. You have me. You have Barry. You have the team.” A firm, but gentle hand was placed upon her shoulder.
“We will find your sister. We will bring Alex home. And that is one thing I can promise.”

Micheal (Lucifer)- Oneshot
Tumblr media
Being banished to another universe has its perks.
Surprisingly he felt more relaxed. After he’d literally killed Chloe and Lucifer, he was thankful for the grace they had shown him when they didn’t have to. Now his punishment was to work in the precinct of a place that had a bunch of super powered criminals running around.
Oh the irony.
Micheal walked into CCPD that day with the usual frown. The first couple months there people wouldn’t stop staring at his scar. Not that he could blame them. He was nothing but a lowly consultant, much like how Lucifer started. He guessed this was supposed to give him some perspective.
Or just a cruel irony.
Life was good like that.
Swiping a cup of coffee from the kitchen, he made his way to figure out what the newest case was.
“What do we have today Detective West.”
Micheal walked in, and standing by Joe’s side was the one and only Barry Allen and another Detective who worked in the precinct. He’d seen you around, and as far as he could tell you were a tough officer. You took every case in stride and it seemed to take a bulldozer to lower your defenses. All his interactions with you had started and ended the same.
Good morning, how are you? Good.
That was it.
He wasn’t that shocked at the cold demeanor but it felt like you were extra stoic around him.
“Good Morning Mr. Morningstar, nice of you to show up.” You spoke, file in hand.
“I’m a minute late, fire me.
Please.
You didn’t respond. Barry sent you a suspicious smile and Joe just let out a sigh.
“If we could all get along that would be great.” Joe stated.
“If some of us would do our jobs I can’t see any reason why that would be a problem. “ Micheal just gives a snarky smile and you roll your eyes. Joe carries on with the explanation.
“This guy is sloppy, it’s clear that he doesn’t know what he’s doing. I need you two back at his apartment. He must have left something there.”
“We’re on it.” You place the document down, reaching for your jacket. Micheal follows behind, giving a salute as he places him mug down on the way out.
“Of all the people, why did it have to be him?”
So maybe there was a reason behind your hostility.
See the truth of the matter is, you were a bit bad at the whole love thing. Your personality in itself was a bit standoffish. Not that you could really help it. It was just the way you were. Your long list of failed dates proved that you needed work in that department. Then along came Micheal. The first day he came, the whispers and rumors started. You weren’t one for gossip, but when you saw the scar, there was obviously a story behind that.
Your first case with Joe and Micheal was possibly his second day. He was sarcastic, and brutally honest. It became clear that this job was some kind of penance. Yet, here he was. He showed up each day with that same snarky look on his face as he worked to solve each crime. As the days went by, you sort of got used to him. While you made it your mission to give him shit, you sort of admired him. He didn’t seem very affected by the way others would stare at his scar. Nor was he demotivated.
It never affected his job.
While he might not have been the most social and approachable person, he had decent work ethic.
You liked that.
You liked him.
The knock on your window glass pulled you from your thoughts. You blinked, and Micheal gave another smile as he waved gesturing for the both of you to get on with the job.
“Stupid crush.”
Of all the people you could have fallen for.
Micheal took a step back and you got out of your car, closing the door.
“Okay, let’s lay down some ground rules. No running off on your own like you did last time. If you get taken I’m gonna have a crap ton of paperwork to fill out.”
“Good to know you care about my wellbeing.”
You both head to the door, ducking under the police tape as you begin searching through the criminal’s house.
Allen Kempler was a thief and now a wanted killer. His last robbery hadn’t gone as planned and he’d shot an innocent woman. Now he was on the run. Luckily, not a meta that you would have to worry about. As you sift through his belongings upstairs, you make a mental note of items he may come back for.
“Micheal, could you pass me an evidence bag?” You got no response.
“Micheal?” He wasn’t there and you groaned in annoyance, heading for the staircase.
“Come on man, I gave you one instruction!”
You expected to see him doing his own round downstairs, but the house was quiet. Now you are worried. You drew your gun.
“Micheal, Micheal!”
Each room you went through was empty, and when you got to the back door, there was a bat that appeared to be tossed there. You cursed.
“Damn it!”
Joe was going to chew you out for this one.
~~~
After a while Micheal was a bit annoyed at all the illiterate villains. He was immortal for goodness sake. Although he still had no wings.
That’s why as the criminal pulls the bag off his head, he wasn’t even phased. Hopefully the police would get here before he had to listen to another poorly thought out plan.
“You’re probably wondering where you are?” Allen smirked.
“Not really.” Micheal retorted. Allen’s brows furrowed.
“W-Well your cop friends won’t find you here.”
“Noted.”
“And there’s no-”
“No escape, I get it. This isn’t my first rodeo. You do realize that I let you take me hostage. That precinct was just getting tedious."
Allen was growing angry.
“Are you mocking me!!” He moved to the next room to grab his gun and Micheal rolled his eyes. He leaned back in the chair, waiting for the calvary. What he didn’t expect was to see you climbing through the window. He raised a brow.
“Detective-”
You placed a hand to your lips, landing easily on the ground. When you straightened, you raced to his side.
“Joe and the others are on their way. I can’t believe you let yourself get caught. “ You shook your head, pulling out a knife as you began cutting the knots at his legs and arms.
Micheal was a bit surprised.
“You came to rescue me?”
You looked back, scoffing as you tried to move quickly.
“Of course I did, I was worried about you.” The statement stunned him, and it seemed to play in your head. His eyes were now focused on you, and you looked up, stuttering as you reached for the last knot on his arm.
“I-I mean we all were worried.”You corrected.
“You’re not going anywhere.” You spun around surprised at Allen’s words.You were standing in front of Micheal protectively.
“Put down the gun.” You advise, standing upright, eyes focused on Allen’s weapon.
“Please, do you really think he’s going to pull the trigger, he’s a coward.”
Allen’s teeth gritted.
“I’LL SHOW YOU COWARD!!” He pointed it straight at Micheal.
“NO!!”
You moved directly in front of him and both bullets hit you right in the chest. Your body dropped to the floor, and you grunted. Micheal’s eyes grew wide.
“Who’s a coward now?”
Micheal’s eyes were no longer holding disinterest. He pulled his wrist from the rope as if it were nothing and Allen raised his gun again, shooting crazily. Each bullet hit Micheal’s chest, and he just tilted his head menacingly. Allen looked terrified, and Micheal grinned.
“No one messes with the Detective except me.”
He grabbed him by the collar, throwing him across the room. His body hit a wall, falling unconscious. Micheal huffed in anger, turning back to you. He was a bit hesitant to approach. Because he didn’t want to see the blood. That would make it hurt.
He hadn’t realized that he actually cared about what happened to you. To him you always seemed like another officer. But you’d just taken a bullet for him. Literally. Not many people ever cared what happened to him. Even his siblings felt like it would be better if he never existed. Micheal kneeled down, cradling your head.
“Amenadiel, if you can hear me, please just help her. It’s not her time, this is not her fault.”
He was hoping for time to seize so his brother would come down and just save you, but when your eyes opened, you coughed, looking back at Micheal as you rubbed your chest. He was completely confused when you sat upright groaning.
“Damn bastard..” You grumbled.
You were clearly in pain. When you pulled your coat to the side, he could see the bullet proof vest.
“I didn’t think he would actually shoot..” You mutter. It took you a moment to gather yourself, and when you did, your eyes turned to Micheal with urgency.
“Crap he shot you!!” You grabbed the front of his suit, searching for the wounds, or blood or anything honestly. The bullet holes were obvious, but there was no wound. You looked up at him a bit startled.
“You’re okay…” You were still holding the lapels of his jacket and Micheal swallowed.
“POLICE!!”
The door to the room busted in and police came rushing in. Joe was right at the front and when he caught sight of the both of you on the floor, he directed the others to sweep the room.
“Are you both okay?”
You weren’t sure how to answer that question, so you just nodded.
There was obviously more to Micheal D. Morningstar than meets the eye.
