Something about powered whump.

The way, in any other situation, they'd be fine.

In any other situation, their power would rip through these bindings and they run.

Superspeed, but the doors locked. What now? Put them in a particle accelerator, good luck doing your stupid 'fazing through walls' trick now.

Ice powers? Their partners dying of hypothermia. Stuck in a too hot room. Stuck in an absolute zero room, no way to make it colder. Can't freeze the lock, its already as cold as its going to get.

Heat powers? Same thing, put that fucker in a volcano. Good luck finding your way through 8,000 feet of lava. Or an incinerator, yeah, just try and melt that lock off. Oh whumpee? They have a fever and your emotions are haywire, hope you can get that water to them without it evaporating.

Superstrength? Fighting a cotton powered villain. What are they gonna do, punch their way through pillows?

It's so fun.

It's funny if its for mundane things too.

Yeah, of course superstrength can move your entire apartment belongs in one trip. What's that? You want help building a bookshelf from Wal-Mart. They've never seen a screwdriver in their life.

You want a coffee run? Okay, but you better fine with no coffee left in the cup afterward. Just because they can run faster than light, doesn't mean liquid stops obeying physics.

Want the lights a different color? Just ask. You want them to fix the wiring in your remote? Why would they know anything about that?

Fun. The possibilities of powers being absolutely useless in everyday life is just good soup to me.

In Which Everything Goes Wonderfully Wrong: An introduction to Rory's mind reading ability and how she used it to find people just like her. The Elevator: part 1: The first meeting between Rory and Bennett. He seeks her help when he finds himself trapped in a time loop. The Elevator: part 2: The second part of Rory and Bennett's first meeting. They work together to end Bennett's time loop. Claustrophobia: The awkward first meeting between Rory and Dalton. She discovers him having a major growth spurt in an empty lecture room at their university and gets trapped in the room with him. (Coming Soon) Boundaries: After meeting Dalton, Rory finally convinces him to meet Bennett, whose excitement and curiosity is too much for Dalton to handle. Broken: The first time Dalton shrinks in front of Bennett. The experience leaves him injured and mistrusting of Bennett, who doesn't quite understand what he's done wrong. (Coming Soon) The Rift: After Rory rescues Dalton from a too-curious Bennett, Dalton reveals his newly-formed opinion of him, which leaves a divide in the group. The Sink Incident: Bennett and Dalton are hanging out when Dalton experiences a shrinking spell and falls into the sink. Dalton's Drawings: Bennett finds Dalton sulking under his bed nearly 5 inches tall, all because he got upset over something he drew. Familiar ground is reached between the two boys. Rory's Journal: Rory has a conversation with Dalton about their abilities and she worries about the effect they are having on her memory. (Coming Soon) The End of a Loop: Bennett is finally free from a time loop that lasted nearly seven months, and after those months of repetition, he has to learn how to live with a choice he can't redo tomorrow. Like A Moth to A Flame: Bennett has a nightmare about his abilities. (Coming Soon) Pushed Too Far: Dalton and Rory have an argument about his abilities, triggering a growth spurt that leaves both characters feeling bad about what had just transpired.

I feel like a surgeon with superspeed would be spectacular as an anti-hero:

*some bank robber just doin his thing and sees a superhero*

"Ahhaa, do gooder I have a hostaAHHHHHHHHHH"

*the robber doubles over in pain as the supe stands there with a scalpel, holding an organ in her other hand*

"I decided to give you a checkup, you'd better be glad I got to you mister. If your appendix had been in there any longer it would've started causing you issues"

Nobody would fuck around with a superhero that performs surgery on you at super speed with no anesthetics, like you would be completely unharmed and better off even but fuck if it wouldn't hurt.

Flash vs Superman: Speed

One angle I think would be neat to explore.

Have the Flash’s powers work like Quicksilver from the recent X-Men movies. He can move faster than super-sonic speeds without creating any vacuums, wind disturbances, or sonic-booms. All the better if the way his powers work somehow doesn’t actually allow him to punch with the force of a cruise missile.

Allow Superman to move at the same speeds, but he DOES cause localized wind disturbances. Therefore, Superman almost NEVER moves as fast as he can on the ground, and only when he’s safely high enough in the sky.

This not only differentiates them, it emphasizes their themes.

The Flash is a trickster sort of hero, so moving too fast to see while also remaining silent allows him to perform all sorts of tricks.

But Superman is all about living in a World of Cardboard where the only thing keeping him from ruling over the wreckage of earth is his self-restraint.

Okay, okay, okay — hear me out! In The Titans Curse, it says the Triple G Ranch has fire-breathing horses. If you bred one with a pegasus ��� imagine riding into battle on a fire-breathing pegasus. And Camp Jupiter has unicorns, so imagine if you bred that with the fire-breathing pegasus — you'd have a fire-breathing alicorn. And if you bred Arion with the fire-breathing alicorn, you'd have a horse that could heal you with it's magic horn, breathe fire, fly, and run at superspeed!

I want one.

Imagine if you will, a hero with super speed. And while they are using their speed to fight off a group of bad guys, they are also doing a Eminem Godzilla style rap at the same time.

I think that would be freaking badass.
