Ford Performance's 2024 Season Launch- Part 2
Ford Performance's 2024 Season Launch- Part 2
After fanboying over all the vehicles I talked about in Part 1 of this article, I went up the red, white, and blue neon light tunnel into the venue event space itself. Upon entering the venue, I was immediately met with the vehicle I had been hoping all week to see – the Mustang GT3. This vehicle was the official debut for the global FIA GT3 category. The powerhouse under the hood is a Coyote…

Masked Singer
We’re bored......here’s our live predictions.....
Turtle - (We didn’t watch the first round of contestants so this one is tough.) Joey McIntyre or Jordan Knight maasaaaybe Glambert....all’s I know is you can see through his mask and it’s a dark haired white dude with prominent brows
Banana - Jeff Foxworthy is my guess and Abs thinks Billy Ray Cyrus
Kitty - I’m damn sure this is Jessie James Decker
Frog - I did swear this was Alfonso.....the clues and moves are there buy the voice isn’t 🤷🏻‍♀️. Maybe Ray J?
Astronaut - I’m sold that it’s Jonathan Taylor Thomas but last week I had a thought that maybe Frankie Muniz
Night Angel - My guess is Jessie J or a Spice Girl (I’d say Emma or Mel) but this one has us seriously stumped. All I know is the judges keep guessing Americans but she’s CLEARLY British
Rhino - Abs swears this is Tim Tebow

“Jacare, Shogun and maybe not much fun” UFC Fight Night: Brazil Preview
Joey
November 10th, 2019
WHEW! So this is a real card, eh? Honestly it's far from the worst show of the year but it's also far from a good show either. This feels slightly below average even if you grade it on a Brazilian Fight Night curve. You have an appealing main event, a few interesting prelim fights and some solid action fights that might create for some unique finishes. I'd say it's skippable but you can legit just watch it whenever with the benefit of ESPN+. Remember that it's the last card we're getting until December 7th so perhaps that'll keep ya watching. We only have so many bites at the apple here before 2019 is done and dusted, dudes.
Fights: 12
Debuts: Tracy Cortez, Antônio Arroyo, Andre Muniz
Fight Changes/Injury Cancellations: 7 (Sam Alvey OUT, Paul Craig IN vs Shogun Rua/Duda Santana OUT, Tracy Cortez IN vs Vanessa Melo/Kevin Holland OUT, Alessio Di Chirico IN vs Antonio Arroyo/Alessio Di Chirico OUT, Andre Muniz IN vs Antonio Arroyo/Lil Nog vs Tevor Smith CANCELLED/Priscila Cachoeira OUT, Ariane Lipski IN vs Veronica Macedo/Jack Marshman OUT, Wellington Turman IN vs Markus Perez)
Headliners (fighters who have either main evented or co-main evented shows in the UFC): 5 (Mauricio "Shogun" Rua, Charles Oliveira, Jacare Souza, Renan Barao, Francisco Trinaldo)
Fighters On Losing Streaks in the UFC:  3 (Sérgio Moraes, Renan Barao, Ariane Lipski)
Fighters On Winning Streaks in the UFC: 2 (Charles Oliveira, James Krause)
Main Card Record Since Jan 1st 2017 (in the UFC): 21-14
Jan Blachowicz- 5-2 Jacare Souza- 3-3 Shogun Rua- 1-1 Paul Craig- 3-4 Jared Gordon- 3-2 Charles Oliveira- 6-1 Antonio Arroyo- 0-0 Andre Muniz- 0-0 Wellington Turman- 0-1

Heavyweight-  (37) Women’s Strawweight- (28) Flyweight-  (15) Women’s Featherweight- (8)
2019 Number Tracker
Debuting Fighters (39-61-1)-  Tracy Cortez, Antônio Arroyo, Andre Muniz
Short Notice Fighters (30-39)- Paul Craig, Tracy Cortez, Andre Muniz, Wellington Turman, Vanessa Melo, Veronica Macedo
Second Fight (56-38)- Vanessa Melo, Eduardo Garagorri
Cage Corrosion (Fighters who have not fought within a year of the date of the fight) (23-40-1)-
Undefeated Fighters (42-39-2)- Eduardo Garagorri
Fighters with at least four fights in the UFC with 0 wins over competition still in the organization (12-9)-
Weight Class Jumpers (Fighters competing outside of the weight class of their last fight even if they’re returning BACK to their “normal weight class”) (32-25)- Jacare Souza, Ricardo Ramos
Twelve Precious Ponderings
1- So let's create an imaginary pecking order for the 205 lb division underneath Jon Jones:
You have to begin with Dominick Reyes. Undefeated, young for 205 lbs, finishes in all but one of his UFC bouts (and he pretty much finished OSP too). He KO'd Chris Weidman on ESPN 2. After that you assume there's Corey Anderson since he just KO'd Johnny Walker and has wins over Ilir Latifi and Glover Teix in the past two years. Also given that the general rule of thumb is that the squeaky wheel gets the grease, the more he talks the more the UFC is likely to eventually acquiesce.  Where does the winner of this fight slide in behind that? It's worth remembering that Jan Blachowicz was in talk to fight Jon Jones at one point before Jon either turned him down or the UFC decided to go all in on Jorge Masvidal vs Nate Diaz. At the same time, he's one fight removed from getting his metaphorical shit pushed in vs Thiago Santos. You'd assume Blachowicz would slot in RIGHT ahead of Glover Teix but would they have Jan ahead of Anthony Smith? Conversely where does Jacare fit in? Could Jacare, if he finishes Jan, become the third straight 185 lber who challenges Jon Jones for the title or does he need a streak of wins? Remember the UFC promised Jacare that IF he won vs Jack Hermansson, he'd get a title shot. It didn't work out. Do they bring back that promise as a make good? It'd be nice of them to especially as Jones continues to chase an opponent worthwhile in his mind.
2- One of the things sort of lost to time is that Blachowicz pre-winning streak had a serious cardio deficiency. He's found a good way to balance those problems with more range fighting, less clinch work and fighting at a comfortable enough pace to where if he gets tired, his opponent is equally as tired. Will his cardio hold up if he has to do a lot of clinch fighting with Jacare?
3- Is this the last time we'll see Jacare if he loses?
4- Paul Craig submitting Shogun would be pretty sad but I can't imagine that coming to pass. Craig is a big LHW but he's awfully slow, a total nonstarter on the feet and shaky if a fight doesn't wind up on the mat. All Shogun has to do is avoid that third round slump.
5- Charles Oliveira is 5-1 in his last six fights and has been all action since going up to 155 lbs. At this point I have to assume the UFC simply sees him as a fun action fighter and have given up on the idea of him being anything resembling a contender. Jared Gordon is pretty much yet another slow blood and guts guy in Oliveira's long run of fighting those kinds of guys in a row. Should be a tremendous fight while it lasts.
6- So if Shogun does lose to Paul Craig, where would that rank among the sadder losses of legendary fighters? Gotta be up there, right?
7- James Krause is finally beginning to figure things out at 170 lbs so I'm a little confused why instead of getting a respectable step up (maybe into the bottom half of the top 15 perhaps?), he's getting a guy coming off two losses who has been thoroughly outboxed/outstruck by guys just like Krause recently? I could be missing something I guess but it feels like they need to do more with Krause while he's kind of sort of hot.
8- Curious to see what Ricardo Ramos looks like up 10 lbs. It feels like a pretty weird step up in weight class but maybe Ramos' body was telling him something we can't hear. His opponent is Uruguay's Eduardo Garagorri who looked good enough in his debut but seems a level below Ramos and Ramos' usually competition.
9- I personally thought Wellington Turman beat Karl Roberson so I'm curious to see how he looks in his second fight, even if it's yet another short notice call in Markus Perez. Would not be surprised if this fight was a sleeper hit.
10- The Renan Barao situation is just sad.
11- Veronica Macedo has had it tough in the UFC so I was happy to see her pull off the upset and score a win in her last fight. Similarly speaking Ariane Lipski has had a rough go of it as well despite her evident upside and promise. This is one of those well put together fights that you kinda don't like for either fighter even if it's compelling.
12- BOBBY GREEN IS BACK!

DWTS 28 catchup: week 9
It’s boy bands vs girl groups night. With Joey Fatone as guest judge. Supposedly Emma Burton would have been there too but didn’t make it or something. Honestly, having Joey and Emma sounded like a really great idea. But also Emma’s dance judge qualifications are very dubious and Joey’s only one is being a former contestant, which hasn’t always worked before. Did enjoy his role in the opening number though.
Wow, I really like watching Pasha dance.
Part 1: girl group songs
James and Emma - Jive to the Pointer Sisters. This guy just oozes class. I didn’t see anything wrong with this dance technically. James pointed his feet and had very nice kicks and flicks. Maaaaybe he could have lifted his knees higher. He gave off very smooth jazz vibes and not what I’d hope for from a jive. 9-9-9-9 T36
Lindsay’s partner and Jenna - Argentine tango Destiny’s Child. Jenna stepping in for Lindsay again. To be fair, I was expecting this to be a full-on “microphone pole” dance where the female pro does most of the dancing while the male just stands around holding her. This dance wasn’t - well the back half at least. 7-6-7-6 T26
Hannah and Alan - Salsa TLC. Great dance, lots of turns that Hannah pulled off really well. Felt kinda short, but maybe I just didn’t want it to end. I feel like she might get picked on for not having a more competitive ballroom posture because she was very grounded and kept her knees bent. Social salsa does that though, so I can close an eye because everything else about this dance was good. 8-8-8-8 T32
Ally and Sasha - Samba Spice Girls. Okay, a lot of strutting, not as much samba, made the dance feel short. I’m realising all these dances are shorter cos they are making the contestants dance twice. I feel like Ally fell in and out of the samba bounce/feel and rhythm. It would look like she got it then two seconds later look like she was just doing steps. 10-10-10-10 T40 uh, what? do the judges have a soft spot for spice girls or something because that dance was good but not great.
Lauren and Gleb - Quickstep the Supremes. Good dance, thought they had good contact and nice footwork. Gleb played it safe and worked up the choreo starting with on the spot moves and the slower travelling steps, before going into the fast 90mph quickstep we all know and love to hate. 9-9-8-8 T34
Kel and Witney - Paso Doble En Vogue. Can’t remember who I said this for last week, but same thing here. Kel got too into the ‘mood’ of the paso and clenched his whole body so he was too tense. Made his footwork stompy and his shoulders come up. 8-8-9-9 T34
James and Emma - Jazz NSYNC. Um, THANK YOU costume team for putting James in that vest so we could see his arms. Wow. And he can f*ckin do a dolphin dive. One of the sexiest moves in my opinion. Okay, uh, I’m kinda conflicted about the choreography. I liked how it incorporated some NSYNC moves without completely copying the MV or Wanye Morris’ dance from some seasons back. And it definitely felt like something I would see at a boy band concert. But it also felt very basic structure wise. The steps were very discrete. 9-8-10-9 T36
P.S. go rewatch Frankie Muniz’ samba to the same song. Please. It was awesome.
Hannah and Alan - Tango BTS. This was a good dance. Something about Hannah threw me off at first. I think she was very tense in her frame and kinda grew into the dance. The execution was great though. Sharp, clean. 10-9-10-10 T39
Lindsay’s partner and Jenna - Foxtrot One Direction. He did the steps, stayed on time. Standard. 6-6-6-6 T24 mate...this was better than his first dance.
Lauren and Gleb - Rumba Backstreet Boys. Oof, her harshness was there from the first move. Felt very rough and not...viscuous. That’s the word for rumba. She had the range for hip action, but she wasn’t flowing through it, rather it was almost pose-y, like “my hips are here, now they are here”. 9-9-9-9 T36 Scores are stupid, her first dance was actually better than this.
Kel and Witney - Viennese Waltz Boyz II Men. Wowowowow comeback from Kel! That dance was smooth and effortless. I think he missed one or two heel leads but whoo! That was a lovely viennese waltz. He looked like a leading man out there. 10-10-10-10 T40
Ally and Sasha - Jazz NKOTB. I really liked the vibe of this dance. I didn’t really know what to expect because I didn’t think the music was the best song but I think Ally and Sasha did a good job with it. The choreography looked really fun and had many moments of interest. 10-10-10-10 T40
Bottom 2 were Lauren and Lindsay’s partner.
We did it. We finally got rid of you know who.
Now please for the love of all that is holy and sacred let James win this competition.

dwts25 cast announcement (aka lo is STILL recapping this crap?)
Jesus lord help us all, the shit storm covered in glitter is back for its 25th season and while I’m highly doubtful I’ll post weekly because I’m still upset over last season and pretty fed up with a certain pro at the moment, I’m feeling generous and somewhat indebted to tradition to at least do a post on the cast reveal.
Wow, that was a long ass sentence.
*A quick sidenote before we start- you guys, I actually know who all except 4 of these people are!! This might be a record. Good on you, ABC.
The Guys
DEREK FISHER with pro partner SHARNA BURGESS
Speaking of people I don’t know… He’s an athlete, what do you expect? He used to be a basketball player, right? Does he still play? Was he any good? They got Kobe Bryant to send a message, but is that because of Derek or just ABC’s connections? I have no clue. Instant judgment says he won’t be great.
DREW SCOTT with pro partner EMMA SLATER
Who doesn’t love the Property Brothers? When I first heard about Drew as a possible contestant, I wasn’t shocked. He and his brother seem pretty easygoing and willing try almost anything- and out of the two I think Drew is a little less likely to worry about the stereotypical possibility of looking “less masculine.”  I think Drew could be good- he’s insanely tall, which might work against him, but he seems really excited and I bet he works hard. I’m excited about him.
FRANKIE MUNIZ with pro partner WITNEY CARSON
Loved Malcolm in the Middle. And Agent Cody Banks, with Hillary Duff? AND BIG FAT LIAR, WITH AMANDA BYNES BEFORE SHE LOST HER MIND? And that Disney Channel movie (back when they were DCOMs) where he was in a kid in a wheelchair that raced in a soapbox derby? God, what a throwback. Apparently since then he’s gotten pretty into racing for real, however I don’t see us having another James Hinchcliff on our hands. Even in the 2 second intro they did on GMA he looked stiff and awkward. I don’t see this lasting long at all. Shame.
JORDAN FISHER with pro partner LINDSAY ARNOLD
Forget Hamilton, this boy is from the Disney Channel! Liv and Maddie, anyone? TEEN BEACH MOVIE? It’s Seacat, y’all! He’s gonna kill it and it’s gonna be so fun to watch. I think he and Lindsay (who shall from this moment on be known this season as LindsAY, not to be confused with fellow contestant LindsEY) will be a great team with a lot of energy. He won’t win though, due to the Disney Channel curse. In true Disney star tradition though, he will likely get second place. (Somewhere in the distance Kyle Massey, Zendaya, and Corbin Bleu are having a Disney Kid/DWTS Runners Up club meeting. Meanwhile Sabrina Bryan is nearby plotting to burn down ABC headquarters.)
NICK LACHEY with pro partner PETA MURGATROYD
First One Tree Hill, now this. The man is out to conquer the world. I don’t think he’ll be as good as Drew (his brother, not the other contestant this season) and I almost think his wife will outdo him by just a hair. That said, I don’t see him being awful. Along the lines of boyband members, I can see him maybe a little behind the others like Nick Carter and Lance Bass, and probably not nearly as good as Wanya Morris or Joey Fatone. I think Nick will start off okay and slowly work his way up, but I don’t think it’ll be a fast or easy process. But as long as he and Vanessa don’t bitch and moan about their spouses like Carlos and Alexa PenaVega did, I’ll be happy.
TERRELL OWENS with pro partner CHERYL BURKE
It’s Terrell like Cheryl, not Tuh-rell. He is (was?) in the NFL. That sums up my knowledge of this man. I assume he was (is?) pretty good from the way people talk about him? He looks pretty graceful and I doubt they’d give Cheryl anyone too shitty since it’s such a big deal she’s back. I don’t know. The only football knowledge I have is from Friday Night Lights. Clear eyes, full hearts, can’t fuck it up in the ballroom.
The Girls
BARBARA CORCORAN with pro partner KEO MOTSEPE
I actually have watched quite a bit of Shark Tank since Robert Herjavec’s season, so I know Barbara! She’s 68, so good for her, though since she’s with Keo we know she won’t last long. Though I doubt she’ll be much good, I know Barbara is very spunky and look forward to seeing her.
DEBBIE GIBSON with pro partner ALAN BERSTEN
One of the 4 I don’t know. Apparently she had a hit in the 80s that I’ve never heard of and she’s currently battling Lyme disease, which I also know nothing about. But after a quick trip to the trusty Mayo Clinc’s website, I learned that Lyme disease is basically a bacterial disease transmitted by deer tick bites (check yourself, kids!), with symptoms that can include a rash, flu-like symptoms, joint pains, and neurological problems. So Debbie has a lot going on. All of that said, I can see her being a bit like one of the higher-skilled housewives when it comes to skill- not epic, but not too bad.
LINDSEY STERLING with pro partner MARK BALLAS
I think I’m rooting for her to win. Of course we’ve all seen her- she’s performed on the show multiple times (Maks and Meryl, week 3 Foxtrot. Look it up.), She’s cute as button and apparently she and Mark have known each other for a while. I’m excited. I think she’ll do well. It’s gonna be weird seeing her dance with a person though instead of her violin.
NIKKI BELLA with pro partner ARTEM CHIGVINTSEV
I’m a WWE girl, so I know Nikki. Since the proposal at Wrestlemania in April she’s taken time off from wrestling, but she’s still around starring on the WWE reality show Total Divas as well as the spinoff Total Bellas, starring her and her twin sister Brie. Whether or not she’ll be any good is a huge question mark, because while being in amazing physical shape, obviously wrestling has a little less finesse than dancing. Fellow WWE superstar Chris Jericho competed in season 12 with Cheryl and came in 6th (he wasn’t great, and he’ll gladly tell you that himself), however I think Nikki being a woman gives her an advantage over the male wrestlers. The guys in WWE don’t have to worry about being sexy (though some are- Seth Rollins, call me) but the girls, while times have progressed and are now seen as equals in terms of talent, do have to be a little more graceful, so to speak. All of this being said, I’m not sure how well she’ll do. But I’m excited to find out.
SASHA PIETERSE with pro partner GLEB SAVCHENKO
I didn’t watch Pretty Little Liars, but I know who she is. Another one too cute for words. I hope she does well.
VANESSA LACHEY with pro partner MAKSIM CHMERKOVSKIY
I don’t really know what Vanessa has done aside from being a wife/mom and a TRL VJ back in the day. But she looks like she can shake her booty and I think she’ll do well with Maks. I can see them being a lot of fun. I also think she and Nick seem less timid than Carlos and Alexa, and I’m crossing my fingers that they understand the concept of the show is to win with your partner, not cry about how much you wish could be dancing with your husband instead (because that’s NOT HOW IT WORKS, ALEXA). So I’m pumped. I also hope the troupe is prepared to open the DWTS daycare for all of these children that will need watching while the mommies and daddies go to work.
VICTORIA ARLEN with pro partner VAL CHMERKOVSKIY
The final cast member I do not know. I looked up her story though, and I can see why Val has been so pumped about her. She seems AMAZING. For those of you also in the dark, here’s some info I’m copying from the internet:
“At the age of 11, Victoria developed two rare conditions and lost the ability to speak, eat, walk and move. She slipped into a vegetative state in which recovery was unlikely. She spent nearly 4 years "locked" inside her own body, completely aware of what was going on, just unable to move or communicate. Doctors believed there was little hope of survival and recovery was unlikely. In 2010, Victoria began the nearly impossible fight back to life. She learned how to speak, eat, and move all over again. She competed in the 2012 Summer Paralympics held in London as a member of Team USA and she won four medals: one gold and three silver. In April 2015, she made the transition from professional athlete to sportscaster and joined ESPN as one of the youngest on air talents hired by the company. In April of 2016, she defied yet another odd and learned to walk after spending nearly a decade paralyzed from the waist down.”
And she’s TWENTY-TWO, Y’ALL. Let’s all take a quick moment to examine our lives- WE’RE ALL FAILURES. LOOK AT THIS GIRL. SHE’S A REAL LIFE SUPERHERO. Also one of the ones I’m excited to see and rooting for (despite some shit I won’t get into. Check my twitter. It’s there somewhere).
The Troupe and Pro Decisions
TIME TO POP BOTTLES, Y’ALL. YOU KNOWN DAMN WELL WHY I’M CELEBRATING. However I’m also hesitantly holding back bc until the first episode airs and a little blonde man doesn’t magically come out dancing with his celebrity partner along the lines of Michelle Obama, Ellen DeGeneres, Christ himself, I won’t be 100% convinced we’ll get such a huge season without God’s Gift To Movement. (#SQUEREK- MY VALDAYA FAM CAN ENJOY THAT THROWBACK. YOU’RE WELCOME.)
On a completely different topic, Mark is back. Woot! With his creativity and LindsEY’s talent with a violin, I’m super pumped to see what he comes up with.
Also Alan has been upgraded to a pro. Yay Alan!
I’m sad Sasha isn’t a pro this season because we all love him and he’s done so great with his past partners, but I think a large part of him being a pro depends on if they can find someone that balances will with his height. So I’m sad, but happy he’ll be around at least on troupe.
On  a similar note though, who cares about height? Sasha is clearly a great teacher. Keo, however, though I’ve got mad love for the man, has proven time and time again that he needs some time on troupe to work on his teaching skills. I realize Barbara won’t ever be the next Laurie Hernandez, but regardless. I’m not happy they moved him up.
I’m also sad that a few favorites won’t be around like Karina and Tony. (dude, Karina went from this to attempting to date Chad from Jojo’s season of the Bachelorette on that new E! show. What the hell happened to our girl?)
The Judges
As far as I know they’re the same. Yippee -.- but guess what I’m pissed about y’all! SHIRLEY BALLAS IS JOINING THE JUDGING PANEL OF STRICTLY COME DANCING. WHICH IS NOT DWTS. WHY DO THEY GET HER AND WE’RE STUCK WITH CARRIE ANN AND JULES? What sick form of bullshit is this? I’ve said before I want both of Mark’s parents on the panel, plus Anna Trebunskaya (who just had a baby boy- CONGRATULATIONS ANNA!!!) and if Maks is competing and can’t judge, then Bruno, because I love his insanity and inappropriate innuendos. So damn you, Strictly!!
Predictions (in no specific order)
EARLY EXIT/THE BILLY RAY SCHOOL OF DANCE: Barb, Derek, Frankie
MIDDLE OF THE ROAD/BE GLAD YOU DON’T HAVE TO LEARN 46 NUMBERS FOR THE FINALE: Nikki, Terrell, Nick, Sasha, Debbie
GOING ALL THE WAY/STILL FINDING GLITTER IN YOUR DRAIN 6 MONTHS LATER: Jordan, LindsEY, Vanessa maybe, Victoria, Drew
For the final 3? As of lately I’m questioning damn near everything in my life, but I’ll give it a shot. Final 3 LindsEY, Jordan, Victoria. I’d normally guess Jordan for second, but with these girls I’ll guess Jordan 3rd and…. gah, this is hard. I want to say LindsEY will win, but I almost think Victoria will get it. I have a feeling this will flip-flop a lot. Okay, final guess pre-premiere is Jordan 3rd, LindsEY 2nd, and Victoria wins. But I’m not 100%.
Whew. Thank god I’m finally done writing this. If you actually read the whole thing, god love ya.
I’m still on social media @lauthom93 and love a good discussion, debate, or argument- not just about DWTS but anything at all, so hit me up there or right here on tumblr.
Back to my regularly scheduled madness. You know I’m sending love and gestures kids shouldn’t mimic.
Lo.
