Look
There's a lot I can't forgive Milligan for and this is barely a blip on that radar but you cannot tell me that John turned a guy into a goat and not elaborate!! Like, I don't believe this is something he could really pull off on his own but. I still wanted to see it 😆
Anyway Happy Halloween!!

I was in the mood for a graphic novel so I picked up the next Hellblazer!
“All right then, Moby Dick call me Ishmael!”
I loved this as a continuation of the Hellblazer comics. It picked up right where Vol 1 left off, and we saw the consequences of some of the actions that I want closure for. I really want to continue the series. John Constantine is slowly becoming my favourite comic but still a very close second.
I’m loving the demons and exorcisms and the whole heaven and hell fight- more than I would expect but I do feel like if I continue those things are going to get old fast.
“It’s true revenge is sweet.”
As I’m reading Vol 1 and esp Vol 2 I’m seeing that while Constantine is fighting the denizens of Hell he very much embodies a lot of their traits and sometimes even has the same drive. The only Constantine media I had before these was the Keanu Reeves movie (I know it ain’t happening but I wish they’d make a sequel) and you saw a bit of that but the comic books are very much delving into how he is becoming the things he fights. And it makes for great characterisation.

I found a copy of an early Hellblazer at the local game store, and decided to frame it by my desk. Maybe one day I can get it signed.
