I have a very strange variety of special interests one of which includes joseph grimaldi the actual real historical figure

I could info dump about his life for hours but I also hyperfixated on tma which features (granted briefly) joseph grimaldi

and now I can't find posts just about joey they're all tma which is OK but I want my depressed clown man posts

it also means that I do have a lot of questions for jonny about the timeline of joseph grimaldis life within tma universe

“The Circus” (1928) is a favorite of mine, it touched on the very heart and core of Charlie Chaplin, he was a clown - and it was his extraordinary gift of pantomime, that set him apart.

Chaplin the clown was also a descendant of Joseph Grimaldi (clown pictured)

Grimaldi was one of the great English pantomimes. He first appeared early 1800’s, notably Theatre Royal, Drury Lane . His clown, called ‘Joey’, specialized in the classic physical tricks, tumbling, pratfalls, and slapstick.

He was known for his expressive face and body, and unique sense of comic timing. He performed in full-length pantomimes and developed the pantomime character of Clown. Grimaldi was very famous and influential in his time.

Another great influence on Chaplin was the mostly forgotten Spanish clown/mime artist Marceline (last photo): The impact upon 10 year old Charlie touring the English music halls with the Eight Lancashire Lads and working alongside Marceline had a profound impact.

First, this is the whole page. I tried to work with a circus theme for the background, for obvious reasons

Behind that drawing, a drawing of Nikola without any accessories. This was supposed to be like the drawing on top, but I spent so much time on her joints and stuff that I didn’t want to cover it all up lol

Below it all is a drawing of Joseph Grimaldi, based on an actual picture of him. I thought that was a neat little detail.

A ticket for the Circus of the Other. I looked at the Wikipedia page for it and saw the name was also written in Russian, and tried to copy it. I do not speak or understand Russian, so I apologize if it looks bad or is written wrong.

And lastly a few doodles of Nikola. First is her natural appearance, just a smooth plastic face with only a hint of a nose. Second, her usual makeup. Lastly, her wearing someone’s face and presenting as human.

except perhaps this guy. not an ancient monument perse but he def made a puzzle that brings him back from the dead. we just haven’t figured it out yet

i feel as if fantasy games vastly overestimate the amount of deadly puzzle traps in ancient ruins. i have never heard of an archaeologist dying to a 2000+ y/o poisonous gas trap. except perhaps indiana jones
