Part 2 FFXII x Pokemon
Here is a link to the rules I made if it's your first time tuning in. Along with Part 1 which features Judge Ghis and Judge Bergan.
For the most badass lady Judge. I wanted Drace to have a team that was elegant but not a pushover by any means. She has two Pokemon that evolve via high friendship which I also think suits her. She wouldn't see Pokemon as tools but close allies and friends instead.
I will not lie and pretend that making a team for Zargabaath was easy. But I figured that the most normal of the Judges should have some Normal type Pokemon to reflect this. Yet he still has some of the elements I wanted for the rest of the Judges as well.
Let's start with Drace.
Leavanny (Bug/Grass)
This is Drace's first fun choice. Leavanny's design reminded me of Drace's armour they both have a sort of skirt and prominent covered legs and also a high collar.
The 'Nurturing Pokemon' to represent her relationship with Larsa.
In this crossover I associate the Grass type with healing as moves like Leech Seed can restore HP. They are immune to powder moves like Sleep/Poison/etc. With the added bonus of Bug type moves that can accomplish the same thing with Leech Life, among others. In trial mode Drace will restore HP to the other Judges.
Lucario (Fighting/Steel)
First of all, I can see Drace with a dutiful Riolu who she would teach so much to and be very proud when it evolved into a Lucario.
The Steel type as I have mentioned before makes me think of the armour the Judges wear.
Most of all I chose Lucario because when I think of Drace I am reminded of justice. Along with her willingness to see Vayne for who he was and not having blind loyalty to him. Just as Lucario is able to see the aura of all living things, Drace is able to see things as they are. But most of all Lucario's dex entry describes it as 'only those with justice in their hearts can earn its trust', and Drace embodies justice the most out of all the Judges.
Wyrdeer (Normal/Psychic)
Normal subtype because like Bergan, Drace is the second most normal of the Judges. The Psychic type is to represent the spell Shock which does non elemental damage that Drace can use in trial mode.
Wyrdeer also has the ability to 'erect invisible barriers' which are similar to buffs since they're not visible. On the theme of that this Pokemon can learn Agility (for Haste), Reflect (for Protect), and Light Screen (for Shell); all buffs Drace herself uses.
Lastly, Wyrdeer has those lovely black orbs on its antlers which reminded me of the spherical elements on Drace's helmet.
Shiny Haxorus (Dragon)
Shiny Haxorus is black and red, the same colours as the cloak bearing the Archadian symbol the Judges wear. National pride!
Haxorus is not to be underestimated as a powerful dragon, but it is described as 'kind but relentless when defending its territory.' Which I think suits Drace, she is kind but she is not blind and it is certainly not a weakness.
Haxorus is also 'covered in hard armour' just as Drace is.
And considering her name is close to Draco that I felt she needed a dragon of her own.
Yamper (Electric)
This is the second fun choice and admittedly maybe it is the English accent and being a distinguished lady of noble bearing, but I can't shake the idea of her having a corgi.
Type wise it does offer her coverage against other Pokemon and please imagine her with a cute but dignified dog bed in her office for Yamper to sit and sleep on.
The Galar region is inspired by the UK and I feel like with all the English accents that a Pokemon from that region would likely be in Archadia itself.
Rapidash (Fire)
A regal and dignified Pokemon for Drace was a must. I also wanted to give her a Fire type because she is vocal and speaks her mind! "Spare me your lies! I see the serpent coiled before me."
For a few honourable mentions Dragonair, Swanna and Magearna has Drace's look but it's a legendary so a no go.
Now for Zargabaath himself.
Walrein (Ice/Water)
Appearance wise Walrein's tusks reminded me of Zargabaath's helmet.
Zargabaath personality wise is reserved and he strikes me as not being quick to act. He takes time to consider facts and doesn't rush to judgement. A slow but steady Pokemon would be appreciated by him.
Walrein's dex entries describe it as 'having thick blubber that make enemy attacks bounce off of it' much like the protection the Judge's armour provides. It is also mentioned that 'to protect its herd, the leader battles anything that invades its territory' much like the threat of the Rozarria invasion that Zargabaath's fleet was made for.
Shiny Golurk (Ground/Ghost)
Golurk might seem like a strange choice at first but as with Ghis I wanted Zargabaath to have a team member reflect Alexander like his airship. Alexander is described as being an 'ancient weapon imbued with sacred power.' There aren’t many Pokemon that are considered holy (let alone one that isn't a legendary), but Golurk fits the bill. It is called the 'Automation Pokemon' and was made by ancient people.
Golurk is also capable of learning flying moves to soar through the skies just like the airship does. We also have a bonus Ground type for a man who is very well grounded.
Furfrou (Normal)
We have our first fun choice! Furfrou's ears also reminded me of Zargabaath's helmet. Somehow I can picture him with a poodle.
Furfrou's ability Fur Coat halves damage from physical attacks which would certainly be useful and similar to armour. As I mentioned before, for the most normal of the Judges Zargabaath would see the value in Normal types. They have only one weakness.
Furfrou's dex entries also explain that 'historically these Pokemon were the designated guardians of the king'. In many ways is what the Judges do protecting Archadia and House Solidor.
Sirfetch'd (Fighting)
In many ways the Judges are knights and a perfect Pokemon to represent this is Sirfetch'd. Knights come in all sorts of forms but Zargabaath is honourable and loyal to his nation as a whole rather than any single leader and a noble. A calm and collected Pokemon is fitting for that.
Sirfetch'd has a dex entry that describes 'the leek is both weapon and food'. That is a pragmatic and practical approach that in my mind works with Zargabaath.
Gumshoos (Normal)
Our second fun choice is another Normal type, you guessed it. Gumshoos name comes from gumshoe, a detective which is also associated with the law as Judges are.
Zargabaath is the oldest of the Judges and Gumshoos has the 'old man pose' with its arms behind its back.
While Gumshoos are not especially successful with their hunting, they 'boast incredible patience' which Zargabaath certainly is the patient type as well.
Magnezone (Electric/Steel)
We have Steel type for the Judges armour. While Magnezone doesn't have any dex entries that identify it as being related with law and justice, any who played the Mystery Dungeon games will know that Magnezone is often related to a sort of police force. Which is not all that different than the Judges involvement in enforcing Archadian law.
Magnezone also is described as using 'radar to monitor its territory. Intruders are quickly disposed of.' We can relate that to the 12th Fleet that Zargabaath leads that is the defence against an invasion from Rozarria.
For honourable mentions we have Zangoose (which was solely for the stripes it has similar to Zargabaath's armour), Skarmory, and Watchog.
Thank you for reading!

Downward Spiral | closed reply
@tarnishedxknight - continued from here
Never had Indala felt afraid of her own brother before. She knew Vayne had been up to something, for that was what she and Larsa had been trying to figure out for some time, and why she was still in the palace while her twin was off assisting Princess Ashelia. But she had never... seen him so cold. Never did she think he would so quickly claim the throne, despite his ambition, and never did she think he would be so quick to punish one of the Judge Magisters for challenging him in such a way.
Then again... never did she think he would be so dismissive of their father's murder, even if justice had quickly been served.
...If it truly had been done by Senator Gregoroth's hand.
Despite his order, Vayne had pulled her against him to shield her away from Drace's death, his arms wrapped protectively around her as he rested a hand on the back of her head to prevent her from turning around. A terrible necessity, he had told her, his voice low and tinged with... regret? Pride? She couldn't tell. But a necessity nonetheless. But even he could not prevent her from hearing Drace's dying gasp, though he still held her as she burst into tears and cried against him, her terror mixing with her shock and grief that tore through her far too rapidly for her to make sense of it. Rattled by the sight of her dead father and the dead Senator, and now the dying breath of a Judge Magister she adored - a sound she was certain would never leave her for as long as she lived.
It was a blur, after that, her mind shutting down into shock as she kept crying, and as her brother comforted her and gave order after order to the remaining Magisters. Bergan and Zargabaath were gone, at least she thought they were, because they needed to get Larsa. Did Gabranth take Drace's body away? Or was it the Judges? She couldn't remember. She couldn't remember who took care of her father or when she was separated from Vayne, but she suddenly found herself standing in the hall outside of the throne room with no one around, and she didn't know what to do.
Her tears kept falling, although she had since fallen quiet as she sniffled and gasped for breath, as her heart felt like it had been torn apart and as her mind still reeled from the chaos that had just unfolded. Where had Vayne gone? Where had any of them gone? She was alone and she didn't want to be, but everything in her sundered spirit screamed at her to avoid her brother at all costs. He was dangerous, that much she could make sense of, though whether or not it was all because of him...
As if they had taken a life of their own, Indala's feet began to move as she suddenly hurried away. She hurried past the Judges and soldiers that now roamed the halls, not hearing those who called to her, and kept going without understanding where. All she knew was that she needed to get away. She needed to keep going, to get as far away from Vayne as she possibly could.
And she found herself outside of Gabranth's quarters.
Although Drace had been killed by his hand, it had not been by his choice. Even Indala, in her torn mind and heart, couldn't find it in her to even remotely blame him for Drace's death. She didn't know what would have happened if he refused Vayne's order, but Drace was dead because of her brother. Not because of Gabranth. Vayne had ordered her execution, and... and...
Fresh tears blurred Indala's vision as she choked back another sob, and with a shaking fist, she knocked at his door. Gabranth and Drace were the only ones she had ever felt fully comfortable turning to, other than her own twin, when she was upset, and that hadn't changed with everything that had just happened. They had been more willing to listen to her and talk to her than Vayne or her father had been, and all she wanted was to be with someone who cared.
But her voice failed her as she knocked again, unable to call out that it was only her or ask if she could enter, and, instead, Indala bit back another sob. It was a choked sound, louder than intended, and it took everything in her not to sink to the floor and begin to cry all over again. What if he wasn't there? Had Vayne ordered him to do something else? What if he was back in the throne room?
Indala knew better than to simply let herself in, but she was hardly thinking right, and she tried the handle when she didn't hear anything from inside. Even if Gabranth wasn't there... maybe she could hide until Larsa came home. But Gabranth was there, though she barely seemed to register that he was on the floor or the destruction of his quarters. She shut the door behind her, but then stood there with her face pale, with only her cheeks, nose, and eyes red. Tears still ran down her face, her nose a mess, and her bottom lip trembled as her breathing hitched again.
"I--" she tried, though her voice caught in her throat with a whimper, and she rubbed at her face. "I- I di-didn't know where else to- to go. I'm- I'm scared Vayne is- is gonna..." A part of her wanted to run over to Gabranth's side, but she forced herself to remain rooted in place, shaking and barely holding herself together, and suddenly feeling the crushing realization of everything that had happened bearing down upon her.
Her father was dead. Drace was dead. And Vayne was responsible for them both.
Did Gabranth even want to see her after all her brother had done?
"I'm- I'm sorry," she blurted, and couldn't stop herself from crying anew as she buried her face into her hands. "I'm sorry! I don-don't know wha' to- to do!"
#((I was gonna reply with Gylfie but I remembered she wouldn't be there since she's still with Ashe & Co#so... have lil Indala instead heh))#panic attack tw#death tw#tarnishedxknight#m; indala janoah solidor#iv; war doesn't discriminate between the sinners and saints#((also I'm fudging it to say Vayne refused to let her leave with Zargabaath and Bergan for the sake of this thread sdfgjfd))

OC Muse: Shadow the Cat - The Unofficial Mascot of the 9th Bureau of the Archadian Empire
[Bio and other information below the cut!]
Type of Character & Fandom/Source Material: OC muse from the FFXII fandom, Shadow, a fluffy black cat with some frostings of grays and browns in his fur.
FC: "crazypiri" on T.ikT.ok
Alignment: True Neutral with Chaotic and Good tendencies
Race: Feline
Age: 5 (prologue), 7 (main game), 8+ (epilogue and later))
Gender: Male
Positive Personality Traits: He's playful, sweet, affectionate, a great lap-warmer, and will collect and "adopt" kittens and hume children who need a good looking after.
Neutral Personality Traits: He's curious, inquisitive, agile, and very "talkative."
Negative Personality Traits: Shadow is very nosy, and that gets him into trouble sometimes. He can be a bit of a crazy terror, knocking things over, running through halls and offices, scratching up furniture, and sprawling on people's desks and chairs with no care for who or what needs to actually go there. He also is a serial pilferer of unattended foodstuffs, especially fish, chicken, and cheese.
BACKGROUND: Shadow simply wandered into the Royal Palace in the Imperial City of Archades one day and basically claimed it as his home. Or one of his homes, anyway. He tends to make the rounds. But inside the palace, Shadow likes to hang out in the offices of the Judge Magisters (particularly Gabranth, Drace, and Zargabaath), the offices of the various Bureaus, and even inside the private quarters of the royal family. How does he accomplish this, you ask? He simply squeezes in behind people as they open doors and then makes with the cuteness to make sure he's permitted to stay. He does not care at all for Bergan, Vayne, or Ghis, however, because they always shoo him away or throw things at him.
Shadow spends most of his time during the day hanging out in the offices of the 9th Bureau, which are the largest and have the most places to hide. The constant, stressful, high energy environment feeds Shadow's frenetic side, and he likes that. Plus there are plenty of people there doing paperwork who are all too happy to have a warm cat on their lap or to share their lunches with him.
In the evenings, Shadow tends to make the rounds through Archades and Old Archades, visiting various merchants he knows he can either coax or steal food from. More often than not, the cat ends up in the same place every night, and that's with a blacksmith named Cael who lives in Old Archades. The blacksmith is very kind to Shadow, letting him sprawl by a fire on his hearth, sharing his dinner with him, and providing a safe place for the cat to sleep.
POTENTIAL APPEARANCES IN THREADS
If your muse is someone who would work or live in the Royal Palace in Archades, or in the city, they could run into Shadow.
If your muse knows or visits with my other muse, Caelen, while he's a blacksmith in Old Archades, they've probably seen Shadow.
MCU muses... What's that black cat that's suddenly started wandering the halls of the Avengers compound? Yep, it's Shadow, probably brought to the present day by my Occurian muse, Munoh, as a friend for Caelen.
In his MCU verse, Shadow will likely be recognized and taken in by either Gabranth or Drace, so your muse might see him in their rooms. He can also be found lounging and poking around in Tony Stark's lab.
He's a smart kitty who answers to his name, so if your muse knows him, feel free to have them call him and he'll probably come right to them! =)
He can act as something of a natural service animal for muses with PTSD. Although he has no formal training, Shadow picks up on when people aren't quite okay, and he will often become very affectionate and try to rub and purr the stress right out of other muses. He's an excellent weighted blanket, loving to sprawl on laps, legs, stomachs, and even drape himself over people's shoulders around the back of their necks!
FUNCTIONALITY IN THREADS
Basically, Shadow is a supporting muse that may show up from time to time as some cute color. If you want your muse to have a thread with Shadow, that's possible, but usually he will show up in already-existing threads, just to add a little something interesting or some comic relief. Feel free to have your muse interact with Shadow if he shows up, or ignore him and he'll move along, heh.
#{ out of dalmasca } ᵒᵒᶜ#oc muse: shadow#{yes i did randomly add a cat for color in ONE thread}#{and now he's become a whole thing haha}#{yes hello and welcome to muses anonymous i have a problem where are the free cookies and juice boxes pls... XD}

In honor of Sunday and that other post you have brought back - can you elaborate on each judge's preferences for a partner? What characteristics (gender, physical appearance, personality etc) would make someone attractive to each one of them, if the job wasn't an issue and only their personal tastes were considered?
What a fun prompt 👀
Bergan: He is strictly into human women, considered attractive by most, any who are smaller than him and who he could easily overpower. Everything about this man is related to his ego, so someone that would stroke that ego (both literally and figuratively lol) would have his attention pretty quick. He doesn't like a person who will talk back, or argue with what he wants, he is at the top of the foodchain and will always be eager to prove it.
Drace: She appreciates people who are obviously well kept- gender unimportant (including certain non-humes), if you aren't up on hygiene she likely won't give you a second glance. Drace likes someone with a strong personality, who will stand up for those that they care for or those that cannot fend for themselves, be it verbally or physically. The quickest way to get her attention would be to flirt unabashedly and be able to tolerate her banter.
Ghis: If he was not already married to his work life, he would find interest in human women who are strong on their own, always challenging the world around them and not constantly looking to him for help. someone who very much stands out amongst the crowd would draw his eye readily, as he is often surrounded by the fanciful and wealthy, everyone always looks and sounds and acts the same.
Zargabaath: While he has bedded individuals of varying gender (mostly male leaning), there is no intention of his to seek any sort of relationship with non-humes that extends past friendship. His attention can be caught if he finds someone who is in the same state of mind as himself; constantly trying to do what is right, to stand up against the wrong in the world, and seek out resolution that avoids violence of any degree.
Gabranth: This is a man who doesn't exactly know what he wants in another person, leaning heavily towards enjoying women and their bodies but might be open to experimenting with others (however he is not planning on engaging with any non-hume). Something about a person who is unafraid of what he can do but respects his power and struggle, is enticing, but he is more often than not going to seek out personal relationships because he is too busy engaging with self destructive behavior to try- so any lucky enough to get him out of his armor shouldn't be dissuaded if he simply cleans up and leaves. Persistence keeps his attention.
#(OOC) blah blah blah#stingslikeabee#i need a tag for posts that involve all the judges so i can find them easier later fdljgkhkf

@tarnishedxknight - continued from here
Did the others notice how Vayne kept looking at her?
Gylfie kept her gaze focused ahead in his direction, but... not quite at him. She was careful to listen to his words, however, and not allow herself to lose focus lest he call upon her, but she... she could not look at him. She could not bear to see his smirk or calculating gaze, or the way he would tilt his head knowingly at her. No, she his face plenty as it was - she would not look upon it now. Not when she already felt cornered, even without being his primary focus.
But had Gabranth noticed her? She nearly held her breath as she remained now at his side, but dared not turn to him, either. Nor did she even risk glancing at him from the corner of her eye, lest it draw unwanted attention from him or Vayne. He had to have noticed. He was always on guard - always careful to keep one step ahead of everyone else. He would notice if someone approached, even as slowly as she had, wouldn't he? Maybe he would dismiss it as pacing, which-- No, if she started to actually pace, that would draw Vayne's complete attention, and he undoubtedly would call her out to put her on the spot. To remind her just how leashed she was.
Gabranth would not protect her, in the end. Nor would Zargabaath or Drace. And certainly not Bergan. She was on her own, she knew, and as much as she feared Vayne, she needed to be cautious. Hesitation or fear would be sniffed out immediately, and her ability to remain a Magister would be called into question. And if she lost this...
Her jaw tightened. No, what she had done would not have been for nothing. She would be fine. She would lie to Gabranth if asked and claim it was her trying to keep herself from pacing further, and that would be that. It was nothing. It would be nothing.
As Vayne finally dismissed them, his need for attention and power now sated, Gylfie... dared not move. Not yet, at least. She was afraid to draw further attention to herself - bracing herself for him to ask for her counsel yet again. To be... to be left alone with him, again. Gods above, could Gabranth hear the way her heart was now pounding in her chest? It was not until the other Magisters began to leave, and Vayne with them - with Bergan, at least - did she feel herself begin to breathe again. Without even acknowledging the Magister beside her, she turned and began to leave with them.
But before she could, Gabranth's words caused her heart to drop.
His tone was firm, professional, yet... somehow friendly, though it only served to put Gylfie on edge. Although not brutishly cruel like Bergan, he was not... a friendly man, or at least not to her. Why would he be? She tested his authority to establish her own, but was careful to make her respect for him known, but there was nothing to support camaraderie between them. They coexisted as Magisters and that was that. Takrin had certainly not been friendly with him, so why would...?
Her heart continued to race, though she was careful to keep her expression schooled. Mayhap, her coming to his side had irked him more than she thought, or had garnered more curiosity than intended. A part of her was tempted to dismiss his request - to tell him that her time was just as valuable as his, and she would speak to him when she had time to spare - but gave a curt nod after a moment's hesitation.
Gylfie remained silent as she walked with him back to his office, but kept a pace behind - not quite standing at his side, but not completely behind him, either. Both out of respect for his authority, as she was not his equal despite them both being Judge Magisters, but also out of distrust. She was unsure why he wanted to speak to her, alone, in his office, but alarms were already going off inside her head, and she wanted nothing more than to run. Being alone with a man of authority meant nothing good. Being alone with him meant--
She forced the thought from her mind as she hesitantly stepped into his office, but remained to the side. Her expression was still masked, but her body was coiled beneath her armor, ready to fight or to run, if it came to it. She had turned her fangs onto her own flesh and blood. She would not hesitate to--
"Is there an issue, Judge Gabranth?" she finally asked - careful to keep her voice calm. Careful not to reveal the panic that raced through her veins. "I would prefer to make this brief."

I wish we could've fought all the judge magisters in ffxii
Drace's weapon looks insane and I would've liked to be bonked in the head with it. Zargabaath could've delivered such a thorough spanking with his. Mother I crave violence but like towards myself

@5judgements sent: i just want to do everything in my power to help. / from zargabaath
[ from Final Fantasy VII Remake . accepting ]
It had been something organized off-schedule and barely advertised - there was no real interest from the Resistance for that act (and neither was the Empire keen on providing any sort of assistance to those deemed inferior). It had been an idea from Melissa and her alone, but with backing from one judge magister instead of a solo adventure that could jeopardize her safety.
The girl had learned the hard way that not everyone in Old Archades welcomed the charity or the good deeds of those living in the capital proper, surrounded by luxury. The experience had been a shocking one, if not for Gabranth secretly following her and rescuing the Bhujerban before a real tragedy occurred. Unfortunately, some outlaws from the lower city had perished - but the political repercussions of someone like Melissa dying within the imperial borders would surely beget worse consequences for the fragile collaboration between the Sky City and Archadia.
But Zargabaath knew the city - he was an example of an orphan that, one day, went above and beyond what most would generally expect for one born under such unfavorable conditions. But unlike some of his peers, he did not think his own personal trajectory fair or reasonable. If there was something that he could do to ensure a better life to those living under the banner of the Empire, he definitely would lend his aid to such cause. And when Melissa suggested performing for the families and children that would never have the means to see her in the capital, he had agreed to help with preparations.
With the proper measures in place and with Zargabaath's own connections drawn into the organization, the entire affair of an evening of entertainment and escapism from their dire reality was nothing but a merry event. True to her word in relation to doing some good, the songs that Melissa danced to were the same ones that the wealthy people of the capital paid for; the colored silks and props had no difference from the ones in the art posters for the theater. The Bhujerban spared no expense and labored as hard as she did for those who financially rewarded her for every show.
When it was over, Melissa had a wide, pleased smile on her face - cheeks still sporting a light rubor thanks to the effort of her craft and with eyes sparkling from the joy brought to the people, she approached the magister after donning a more demure robe and bowed before him. Zargabaath, however, shook his had and merely took her hands into his, the gesture hardly seeming out of place given how the man looked like anyone else once he was outside the iconic armor, comfortable in his own skin away from work.
"Thank you, Severn. I will never forget the look of joy on their faces - I only wish the war would end sooner."
"No need to thank me, Melissa," his voice was kind, just as the smile which was visible in the absence of the helmet, "I just want to do everything in my power to help. This was nothing to me - and it was a great help to them."
The dancer nodded, feeling her heart still full and content from the experience; perhaps Ondore needed reminding that not everyone within Archadian borders deserved a painful ending. There were people like Severn Zargabaath who could see reason - if only he had been at the helm of the country instead of Vayne Solidor.

JUDGE ZARGABAATH race: hume sex: male age: 39 years old place of birth: archadian empire
A man of unwavering loyalty who guards his thoughts.
Judge Zargabaath, leader of the 10th Bureau, is deeply committed to his role as a Judge Magister. Known for his quiet selflessness and resolve, he maintains a steadfast dedication to serving the Archadian Empire, irrespective of the reigning emperor—whether Gramis, Vayne, or Larsa. Though capable of executing the Solidors' directives with ruthless efficiency, Zargabaath is, by nature a humane and compassionate man, who does not like to cause unnecessary hardship to the people.
In the second half of the story, he is given the command of the 12th Fleet of the Archadian Army and the command of its flagship, the Alexander.
⇑ Zargabaath believes that Vayne's ruthlessness is necessary to protect the empire, so he discourages Drace from criticizing Vayne's extremism.

Gabranth's mildly defensive response was far from unexpected, and Zargabaath was grateful that his helm hid the amusement clear on his expression. He certainly succeeded in gaining the Magister's attention, which was what he needed, and... well, he was commonly thought of as boring, so why not have a bit of fun every now and then?
"Her? Nothing, 'tis you who will determine the number of airships you have if you cannot keep your attention off of her," he corrected - barely able to keep the amusement from his tone, though it was shortlived. His expression turned more serious beneath his helm, and while his voice remained even, he could not hide his scorn as he spoke next. Thoroughly disappointed with Archadia's upstart airship provider. "Did you have one or two of the newest Light Cruiser-class models added to your fleet? A defect in their glossair rings has been discovered after incapacitating several ships." He stifled a sigh. "Fortunately, if caught early enough, repairs can have them back in the air within the same day. I sent an urgent notice to all the Magisters, though I had yet to hear back from you, Your Honor." And Bergan, but that was less than unusual, and Zargabaath was not in the mood to try and reason with him.
"To delay repairs will result in those airships stalling. We have yet to have any accident with that, and I would prefer it to stay that way," Zargabaath continued in a voice almost monotone, as it oft became when he spoke of work. Common, predictable. Ever the model Judge Magister. Whatever suspicions he held regarding the relationship between Gabranth and Drace were shoved aside in favor of checking off another task, and, really, he had little care of it as long as they were able to keep to their duties without issue. "If I may, I would like to send a few of my engineers to work with yours to sort out the issue."

The sound of clanking armor distracted Indala from her hurt spirits, and she turned around to see who was approaching. By the sound, it had to be one of the Judge Magisters, though whether or not she'd stay or disappear depended on who it was. Zargabaath was fine, she wouldn't mind sticking around to at least greet him, but if it proved to be Ghis or Bergan, she'd rather make her escape. She didn't care to be around either one of them, and, if she were honest, she would rather it be--
Her gaze brightened as the Magister came into view, and she hurried herself toward them. "Your Honor!" she greeted, quickly catching to their side as she walked alongside them. "May I accompany you if you do not have pressing matters to attend?" Oh, what fortune it was that it was one of the Magisters she liked the most.
(( @lightinxthedark for Gabranth or Drace! I'm thinking Indala wasn't permitted to join Larsa and Gramis for a political lesson or to sit in on a Senate meeting, heh, so she's feeling left out))
{ @lightinxthedark | I want you to know that I AGONIZED over who to choose for this, haha. I went back and forth so many times because they both would've been so good, but Drace was slightly louder than Gabranth on this one, haha. }
Drace was not certain she was happy that her rounds for the day had concluded or not. On the one hand, she could relax in her office for the rest of the day. On the other... she had stacks upon stacks of paperwork to do in that very office. Sometimes she almost preferred the excitement of battle or the change of scenery that her rounds within Archades afforded her. Paperwork was perhaps the least interesting part of her job. Nevertheless, it was both important and necessary. As a minister of the law, Drace knew this very well.
However, as she made her way back through the winding hallways of the Imperial Palace, she acquired some opportunistic company. Drace smirked inside her helm as Indala quickly paced herself alongside her, asking if she could tag along. "All that awaits me at the present time is a mountain of paperwork, my lady," she said. "You are welcome to interrupt that anytime you wish." A yes in answer to her question, of course, albeit a longwinded one.
When they reached her office, Drace let Indala come inside before she shut the door. Slipping off her helm with a sigh, she hung it at the top of an armor stand near a bookshelf. "Have you currently no lessons or other obligations that require your attendance, my lady?" she asked, wondering why Indala had been wandering the halls alone. Not... that the young princess did not do so rather often...

"Sometimes death is a mercy." / taron to zargabaath
A mercy. He says nothing in return, eyes beneath the ornately horned helm watching this chained man with quiet concern. There is truth in this notion and one that Zargabaath cannot deny. To die was a release from the plague of a worldly body; no burden upon ones bone shoulders, not a worrisome thought within the rotting mind, death can be an exceptionally freeing action. To desire it, however, unveiled something festering beneath the statement.
Motioning without a sound towards the lone sentry at the door, the action leaves the two of them alone within the cold, featureless, room.
"Perhaps," the Judge finally replies. "However, death is also a very hastily enacted and permanent solution to a problem that has not yet been worked to another resolution."
He knows nothing of this man, what ails him, both mind and body. It may very well be the wisest choice, to end a life here and now, but until a valid reason can be procured there is no rush to administer such a violent thing upon another individual.
"Do you wish to die? Or are you speaking in general terms."
