The Usami brothers and whole family as a whole are really interesting characters.  Due mostly by the fact of how different Haruhiko and Akihiko are yet similar in many ways as well.  Let’s start with rabbit boy.
Tumblr media
Not only is this man extremely sexy but he’s also one of the most popular novelists in Japan believe it or not (not in real life guys)  Akihiko is the presumably biological son of Natsuko and Fuyuhiko and younger brother of Haruhiko Usami.  Growing up, he had always yearned for the attention of his parents, wanting to impress them and make them happy.  Haruhiko had actually been introduced to the Usami household at the age of 12 so Akihiko was 10 at the time and significant development seemed to grow from this change.  As shown from volume 21, everyone had been cheering Akihiko on as the legitimate heir of the Usami family meaning to take over the family business however he had never gotten this support from his parents before.  As a young child he had believed that if he just tried harder and became good at everything, then his parents would finally recognize him.  However, this wasn’t the case unfortunately as shown in the same volume once a young Akihiko came home from school gaining full marks on a test, eager to show his father when he caught him telling Haruhiko that he truly intended to make him the heir of the family business.  This impact was further felt once his mother, who had also witnessed this, declared that she should have never bore Fuyuhiko’s child which in the eyes of a young child must have been completely shattering.  An important seed was planted however and I believe that it was at this moment that Akihiko had started to evolve into the person he is today.  He poured all his emotion, pain, loss, suffering into his notebooks, his stories, proclaiming it to be his entire world.  Overtime we see that Akihiko grows to be very adept at the talent, being one of the top-selling authors from debut which occurred while still in high school and becoming a full-fledged novelist.  Doing this, he completely rejected his family and any connections he might have had to take over the business.
Looking as Akihiko today it is very clear the type of individual he is, independent and self-serving, he’s his own boss and does only the things he wants to do.  From the first episode of season 2 we see this as there is a key event that takes place between the two Usami brothers in which a confrontation between two escalates into a full-out argument over Akihiko coming back to, as I assume, take over the lead of the Usami company and or serve there.  I will note later on Haruhiko’s tone and content of his language but it’s Akihiko’s response which truly stuck out to me as he stated that he had no inclination of going back to that house and if that Haruhiko truly didn’t like being there then why doesn’t he just leave as well.
This point may seem entirely irrelevant but I actually believe it highlights an essential part of Akihiko’s character that not only serves as his strength but also a blind spot in that of his independence.  Akihiko is the type of person who is able to do the things he’d like to do and encourages the people he cares about, basically Misaki, to do the same such as in episode 2 of season 3 where he is actually the one who encourages Misaki to enter into Marukawa after Misaki dismisses those thoughts as just a fantasy.  This is a thing for his relationship with Misaki as he allows the man a different perspective and in a way allows him, or at least encourages him, to be more selfish.  However this can also be seen as a flaw of his character as it can be interpreted that the only reason he has this lax and independent personality in the first place is because of his more well-off family and the fact that he’d had connections from the start.  In all honestly though, this part of Usagi-san’s personality is one of the main reasons why I actually enjoy his character, along with his thoughtful nature, as I believe that it’s a pretty unique and well-suited trait.
Tumblr media
Let’s get into Harry Potter or the eldest brother of the Usami residence, Haruhiko.  Haruhiko isn’t Akihiko’s direct brother as stated before but rather a product of an affair that Fuyuhiko had with his mother.  For the first 12 years of his life, Haruhiko had actually been raised by his single-mother whom he loved very much.  During these times he had been seen to be much more happy despite living in poorer circumstances.  This is a large aspect that is pretty big onto why he is the way he is today.  After his mother tragically passing on, Fuyuhiko took him into to live in the Usami residence.  Now this in itself is absolutely devastating, living with a father-figure that had never truly been there for you with a new mother-in-law that despises your every existence because you’re the proof of the infidelities of her marriage and a new younger brother who seemed lifeless from the rest of this.  Top it all off with the devastation from losing the only person you truly loved and was there for you and damn I’m surprised that Haruhiko didn’t full out lose it.
Now going back to the scene originally discussed with Akihiko’s backstory, let us switch perspective onto Haruhiko during this situation.  Your new dad just stated that the person he had truly loved in his lifetime was your dead mother and that he intended to make you, a 12 year old child, the heir of their family company that you had just learned about.  Not only this but everyone around you is your enemy as shown through all the people cheering on Akihiko to become the true heir and saying that Haruhiko stole his position.  There is basically no one there to support you, similar to Akihiko, and unlike Akihiko he actually was not used to this new circumstance making the situation even worse.
I’d like to discuss the scene stated before during episode 1 of season 2.  Here, Haruhiko is visibly angry as Akihiko’s lack of care for his role in the Usami residence.  This is something we’ve never actually gotten to see ever since with Haruhiko barely showing any emotion at all.  However, if you take in the full context of his upbringing and circumstance to that point, you can see a fuller picture of what the man has gone through to become the stoic chosen one we know today.  Akihiko, after being hoisted by Isaka to finally start publishing his works, his entire being, finally achieved success independent from the Usami residence, marking himself finally as an individual allowing him to finally see that he only needs himself.  I think this is what caused Akihiko to cut most connection from his family, despite the occasional visits, and totally puts himself away from the idea of succeeding and become the heir of his family’s company.  This leaves Haruhiko with the burden of shouldering the entire Usami company’s future, something he never truly wanted to today with architecture being his main priority.  What he see’s in Akihiko is this lazy, selfish person who only thinks of himself, abandoning all his familial duties to a brother whom he barely batted an eye to during childhood.  This is what he hates in Akihiko, but also envies.  A very interesting point that season 2 makes with the connection between the Usami brothers is the inherent jealously Haruhiko feels toward Akihiko, with him trying to steal things from him during their upbringing together according to Akihiko.  Even Misaki finally has this revelation during episode 8 I believe when he was distracting him from Kaoruko.  I think his jealously mainly stems from the fact that Akihiko got his independence while Haruhiko is still confined to the Usami gates.  With all of Akihiko’s absent-minded behavior and to quote Haruhiko, “having the eyes of a dead fish”, Akihiko in the end still achieved that sense of independence that Haruhiko could only dream about having.  Add onto the fact that everyone around you hates that you got this position, lobbying for your younger half-brother who barely gives in the effort to succeed you, then baby that’s a recipe for childhood resentment if I’ve ever seen one.
Tumblr media
So what does this all mean, well nothing since this is an over-analysis on a yaoi manga but in a reality I think it comes to show the clear dynamic Haruhiko and Akihiko have on one another.  In recent chapters it is shown that Haruhiko is more and more aspiring in his own pursuits in architecture, even accepting his position as lead of the Usami household and accepting the fact that he’ll never get Misaki, wanting to stay as his ally instead (which is a lot more than I can say for a CERTAIN manga author).
I love Haruhiko AND Akihiko, they both are really great characters and I’d think it would be nice if in the future they could perhaps reconcile their relationship and kind of start to get along.  The Usami household fucked up a lot of kids but they are still going strong and who knows, maybe Haruhiko might get a lover in the future (AKA Todo)
Thank you and now I implore you to go listen to Nelson’s After the Rain album, 10/10 made me cry.

Chapter 27 - Soul-Catcher
Enemies and friends were actually pretty interchangeable. For example, Lin Yan had to be on his guard with this ghost before, but when a new enemy appeared, it was the first time that he truly felt he and Xiao Yu were on the same side. Lin Yan glanced at the dimly lit hut, his head resting on Xiao Yu's chest. His slightly cool body temperature made him think an inexplicable thought; that he actually felt safe because of the presence of this ghost that never left him alone.
"What happened?" Xiao Yu held the back of Lin Yan's head.
"It's. . . it's nothing" Lin Yan blushed. He broke out from Xiao Yu's arms, hiding his head down and looking at the photo that the old man had given him. He had such a dull expression that it looked like the black and white picture had been taken after he had died. As he took a closer look, the place where the girl in the red coat had been standing wasn't completely empty. Lin Yan aggressively wiped the picture. A thin cloud of gray mist hovered around his legs. If he wasn't actively looking for it, he would've chalked it up to the old quality of the picture.
"Pea cakes, hawthorn jelly, fruitcakes, water chestnut cake, rolling donkeys, glutinous rice cakes." The vendor pushing the cart selling treats noticed Lin Yan standing by himself. He picked up a rag and wiped the glass window of the cart, shouting more enthusiastically. "Would you like to try some?"
The dry, dazzling sunlight shone down. The vendor's voice seemed like it was coming from another world, too distant to be clearly distinguished.
Things were moving in an unpredictable direction. Lin Yan shook his head and dragged Xiao Yu forward aimlessly, wracking through his brain. The first time he saw the little girl was in the hallway of his apartment building. There had been a problem with the elevator that day and he climbed the stairs to the twelfth floor. At the corner of the third-floor hallway, he saw the little girl climbing onto the handrail to play. Later, he would meet her downstairs almost every time he went home. Once Lin Yan arrived home just when the kids had just gotten out of school and large groups of students were playing football in the yard. He hadn't paid attention to the little girl sitting on her own. Now that he thought about it, he had never seen her talk to anyone.
It seemed like it had been a while since he last saw the little girl.
When did this start? Lin Yan walked with his head down, kicking a small stone as he walked. The corner of his eyes flicked across Xiao Yu's embellished hem, a bright white fabric decorated with a greenish emerald dragon spread out underneath the moire belt hanging down, swaying as he stepped. Lin Yan hesitantly cast his gaze towards the ghost next to him. The memory of Xiao Yu appearing on that rainy night resurfaced. When Lin Yan rushed out of his apartment in terror, he saw the little girl standing in the rain, sucking on her thumb and looking at him. If he hadn't been threatened by a ghost, he would've asked why she was standing alone outside on a rainy day.
From that day on, Lin Yan's life completely changed. He thought silently, ever since Xiao Yu had started following him, the girl in the red coat hadn't shown up again.
A thought jolted across his mind. Lin Yan almost couldn't stand still. He shook as he took his phone out of his pocket and dialled Yin Zhou's number.
'Beep. . . beep. . .' Pick up the phone, pick up the phone, Lin Yan silently urged.
". . . Lin Yan?" After ringing seven times, Yin Zhou's tired voice came from the phone: ". . . I'm sleeping. I'm hanging up if this isn't important."
Lin Yan breathed a sigh of relief. He clamped the phone between his ear and shoulder while pulling out his car keys and asked; "A-Zhou, do you remember what Second Immortal Gu told us the last time we asked her to drive away a ghost?"
"The old lady was just trying to scam a few bucks off us. . ." Yin Zhou reluctantly grumbled: "I think she said there was a little girl who didn't have any clothes or money to pay to get to the underworld, and then she poured water all over you. Complete bullshit."
Lin Yan's heart dropped: "Then Second Immortal Gu died and her time of death was deliberately changed."
"Yeah." Yin Zhou yawned: "Did you find something?"
Lin Yan dragged Xiao Yu towards the parking lot and harshly slammed the car door: "She wasn't talking bullshit. There really was a little girl in red following me. I took a picture with her but the developed picture didn't have her in it."
"Holy shit!" Yin Zhou was completely awake and bounced off the bed: "Are you kidding me? Another ghost?!"
"I'm not sure yet." Lin Yan turned the key to start the car, staring at the windshield, "That hand, it slapped the windshield when we went to see Second Immortal Gu and we almost got into a car accident. It didn't seem right to me when it happened, but it disappeared so fast, I couldn't see it."
"Now that I think about it, the hand was too small. It's not the ghost that lives in my house at all." Lin Yan glanced at Xiao Yu. "I also saw the little girl the day I went to meet you in the bar. At that time, I thought she was alive. I think she was the reason I was stuck in that loop on the road and she was the one behind Second Immortal Gu's death."
"I'll go ask A-Yan later on. Keep an eye out for anything."
Yin Zhou was silent for a while: ". . . Stay safe."
Lin Yan hung up the phone and carefully backed the car out of the parking space. The market in Shenjiyuan closed early. A group of vendors surged out from the entrance with the earnings from the day like a school of fish swimming by Lin Yan's car window. The jade shop by the side of the road screeched by on its grinding wheels. Lin Yan sighed and clutched the steering wheel, waiting for the crowd in front of them to disperse. When he turned to look at Xiao Yu, he couldn't help but feel a little guilty.
"It's always been you, hasn't it?" Lin Yan whispered.
"The night I first met you, I drove around the overpass for three hours and didn't find the exit until I saw you."
The patter of light rain, the lonely figure standing under the streetlamp like they were waiting for a promise that could never be fulfilled.
"At that time, I thought I was lost because of you. I didn't think that you were the one to help me get out of there." Lin Yan recalled how he had been circling around the overpass like a headless fly. He found it all kind of funny now. The ghost that scared him half to death now shared his house, shared his passenger seat and even shared his occasional uncontrollable sexual desires.
Xiao Yu rubbed his fingers against his temple, trying to remember. A-Yan said that ghosts who had just returned to the human world were in a state of confusion. They would keep searching for the reason why they were stuck in the human world with very few memories of their previous lives. Some of them were able to remember and reincarnate easily while others weren't successful, their resentment growing stronger and stronger. Lin Yan grabbed his hand and held it, feeling a little depressed, and murmured: "Forget it, don't worry about it."
He couldn't help but chuckle bitterly: "You've got your hands full now. Someone's trying to kill me before you get to."
". . . You're mine." Xiao Yu said slowly, pulling his hand back.
"I'm not." Lin Yan said. He didn't know why he was so stubborn every time this topic came up: "Even now, I'm not sure who you are or where you want to take me. A month ago I was a complete atheist, but now I've now more ghosts than people. My life is already a mess and today I ran into a little girl that almost killed me on a highway."
Lin Yan started getting choked up. He sniffed. For some reason, he felt a strong feeling of outrage: "Who did I provoke? Why won't they just let me live my life?"
Xiao Yu held Lin Yan's shoulders and rubbed his chin against his forehead. Lin Yan gritted his teeth and the stinging in his eyes grew more intense.
"I'm going to ask A-Yan about the little girl later. Xiao Yu, don't move. Let me rest for a minute." Lin Yan wrapped his arms around his waist and curled into Xiao Yu's arms. "I'm exhausted. "
Long, slender fingers stroked through his hair. They were cold but the gesture was very gentle: "Don't worry, I'm here."
"I know." Lin Yan played with the crimson silk belt around Xiao Yu's waist and let out a chuckle: "Save me for yourself. Don't let someone else kill me."
Lin Yan buried his face in Xiao Yu's chest. If he had heard that a month ago, he would've thought he was out of his mind, but now he said it sincerely as if he meant it when he tried to reassure him. He instinctively felt that what had happened recently was much more than a simple coincidence. It was as if a well-prepared lasso had been placed on the ground long ago, waiting for him to walk ignorantly into the center of the rope loop only for it to be violently tightened by an invisible giant hand. The staring little girl, the dead old lady, the pre-determined internship and obsessive ghosts. The crowd outside the car window slowly dispersed. Lin Yan held Xiao Yu's waist and couldn't help but think that even if he really fell into some unpredictable conspiracy, there was always something to hold on to.
He knew that there was something between them that couldn't be resolved or reconciled. He cautiously avoided thinking about it. The ghost made the first move. Lin Yan let out a long sigh. He struggled to sit up straight, turning and driving the car out of the parking lot.
There's still time. Think about it later, Lin Yan thought to himself.
The alleyway where A-Yan lived was as dark as the first time. The spider web he saw when he came last time had grown bigger. A round gray spider was hanging underneath and climbing with its eight hairy legs. The broken bicycle beneath the spider web was gone, replaced by a pile of large cardboard boxes covered in advertisements for weight loss tea.
A-Yan didn't have a candle lit like he were a ghost this time. The living room was lit, and after making a cup of kuding tea for Lin Yan, A-Yan looked at the black-and-white photo carefully with the light, his face growing serious.
"I can't sense anything. Even the weakest ghosts have dark energy, but I can't see anything like what you said." A-Yan looked at the air around Lin Yan strangely, and then lowered his head to study the photo.
"I haven't seen her since Xiao Yu showed up. Today was the first time." Lin Yan pointed to the ghost behind him, embarrassed: "His name is Xiao Yu. I don't think I mentioned that."
He didn't know why it made him flustered to mention his name in front of others, so Lin Yan coughed quickly to cover up his embarrassment.
"X-Xiao Yu, I'll remember that." The little Daoist muttered to himself. He opened the cabinet and took out the large red lacquer pen and a glass bottle filled with cinnabar that he used to exorcise ghosts earlier. He unscrewed the bottle and paused: "Was he also there when you met the little girl you mentioned?"
"No." Lin Yan recalled: "There was a talisman hanging on the door to ward off evil spirits and he couldn't get in."
"If there was a talisman to ward off evil spirits, then that means there must have been a ghost. What did the talisman look like?"
Lin Yan drew a crooked pattern on his phone's whiteboard based on what he remembered, like gossip that was fed down the grapevine. Dancing lines of symbols and patterns were encompassed by a large black box. The little Daoist frowned while he studied it and said with certainty: "T-This is made specifically to repel ghosts. Sticking this on a door will prevent even the most powerful ghosts from getting in." A-Yan's slender fingers pointed to the cloud of gray mist near Lin Yan's feet in the photo: "Like I thought. It's not a ghost, it's a curse."
"Curse?" Lin Yan clutched the cup, bewildered: "Like in the movies?"
A-Yan took out the yellow paper from under the table. He dipped the pen in the cinnabar and haphazardly scribbled a Daoist talisman. He lit it with a lighter and moved it across Lin Yan's shoulders and head. He frowned and said: "N-No, this kind of talisman is an evil art used in practices like Nanyang Black Magic and Miaojiang compulsion techniques. They use insects, ants, dolls, and even ghosts to injure and harm people. It's different from Daoism. Daoism only targets ghosts while curses target people."
The flame of the yellow paper increased immensely when it passed over Lin Yan’s shoulders, making a small crackling sound. The little Daoist flicked the yellow paper to put out the flame and wondered: “It's impossible for a gray shadow to appear when trying to take pictures of ghosts that appeared naturally. The little girl had to be imprisoned somehow to make this kind of curse. I'll help you to get rid of it. I-It's such bad luck to run into this kind of thing."
"Lin Yan, who did you offend recently? Why did someone put a curse on you?"
Lin Yan took a sip of tea and sank into the sofa, shaking his head with a bitter smile on his face. Something that Second Immortal Gu said popped into his head. The little girl had been locked up with deep resentment. At that time, he thought she was talking nonsense. It's a pity that this person was already dead and gone.
Gone? Lin Yan looked back at Xiao Yu in surprise. If a person's soul still exists after they die. . .
"A-Yan." Lin Yan grabbed the little Taoist's thin wrist and said in a low voice: "Can people still talk after they die?"
The little Daoist priest was dumbfounded. A smirk danced on his lips. He stared at the ceiling for a minute and whispered: "N-Not necessarily. Some that died recently still can, but not for very long."
"Less than a month." Lin Yan roughly slammed the teacup on the table, water splashing into small round spots on the yellow paper. "I want to attract a person's soul."
The little Daoist thoughtfully stroked the cinnabar-coated pen and hesitated: "I-I'll try. A month might not be enough time."
The lights in the living room were dim and the whole room smelt like traditional medicinal herbs. After staying for a while, it felt like he was drifting farther and farther away from the normal world. Lin Yan took out his phone and stared at the bright screen, trying to bring himself back to reality. He scrolled through the people in his contacts. A text message suddenly popped up.
"I have some news. I'll ask the secretary to double-check and I'll get back to you tomorrow."
The one who sent it was the man who gave the lecture on Monday, Professor File Folder.

this was written several weeks ago in response to asks i was receiving i am posting it now it is very long the longest i have ever made and it is not very well edited but here it is in this final essay i talk about how shitty rae is about black people in her writing as well as just me talking about how her writing sucks in general lets begin
hello everyone
as you may know i have received a lot of anons in the last week or so about issues of racism in the beetlejuice community both just generally speaking and also within specific spaces
i was very frustrated to not be getting the answers i wanted because i typically do not talk about what i do not see but in an effort to be better about discourse i went looking through discourse from before my time in the fandom and i also received some receipts and information from my followers and from some friends
keep in mind that the voices and thoughts of bipoc are not only incredibly important at all times but in this circumstance it is important that if a bipoc has something to add you listen and learn and be better
i admit that when this happened i wasnt aware of the extent of what occurred and im angry at myself for not doing more at that time and i want to work harder to make sure something like this doesnt go unnoticed again
im a hesitant to talk about months old discourse because i have been criticized for bringing up quote old new unquote but this is very important and i am willing to face whatever comes from to me
lets talk about this
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
content from our local racist idiot that may be months old but its important
putting my thoughts under a cut to spare the dash but before i begin obviously this is awful
lets fucking unpack this folks
right out the gate op states that she supports artistic freedom but then within a couple words she goes against that statement
being entirely canon compliant isnt artistic freedom and even so if this person has so much respect for canon they wouldnt be out here erasing lydias obvious disgust for beetlejuice in the movie or ignoring lydias age for the sake of shipping that shit isnt canon either
also we love the quick jab at the musical there hilarious we love it dont we because god forbid a licensed and successful branch on a media have any standing in this conversation but whatever
now lets scroll down and talk about the term racebending
the term racebending was coined around 2009 in response to the avatar the last airbender movie a film in which the east asian races of the characters were erased by casting white actors in the three leading roles of aang sokka and katara
whenever the term racebending is used in a negative light it is almost always a case of whitewashing like casting scarlett johansen in ghost in the shell or the casting of white actors of the prince of persia sands of time instead of iranian ones
this kind of racebending erases minorities from beeing seen in media and is wrong
all that being said however racebending has also been noted to have very positive after effects like the 1997 adaptation of cinderella or casting samuel jackson as nick fury in the marvel movies nick fury was originally a white guy can you even imagine
i read this piece from an academic that said quote writers can change the race and cultural specificity of central characters or pull a secondary character of color from the margins transforming them into the central protagonist unquote
racebending like the kind that rae is so heated about is the kind of creative freedom that leads to more representation of bipoc in media which will never be a bad thing ever no matter how pissy you get about it
designing a version of a character as a poc isnt serving to make them necessarily better it serves to give new perspective and perhaps the opportunity to connect even more deeply with a character it doesnt marginalize or erase white people it can uplift poc and if you think uplifting poc is wrong because it tears down white people or whatever youre a fucking moron and you need to get out of your podunk white folk town and see the real world
the numbers of times a bipoc particularly a bipoc that is also lgbt+ has been represented in media are dwarfed by what i as a white dude have seen myself represented in media is and that isnt okay that isnt equality and its something that should change not only in mainstream media but in fandom spaces as well
lets move down a bit further to the part about bullying straight people which is hilarious and lets also talk about the term fetishistic as well lets start with that
this person literally writes explicit pornography of a minor and an adult are we really going to let someone like that dictate what is and what isnt fetishistic
similarly to doing a positive racebend situation people may project lgbt+ headcanons on a character because its part of who they are and it helps them feel closer to the character and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that
depicting lgbt+ subject matter on existing characters isnt an inherently fetishistic action generally things only really become fetishistic when the media is being crafted and hyped by people who are outside of lgbt+ community for example how young teens used to flip a tit about yaoi or how chasers fetishize trans people
but drawing a character with top surgery scars or headcanoning them as trans is harmless and its just another way to interpret a character literally anone could be trans unless if their character bio says theyre cis and most of them dont go that deep so it really is open to interpretation and on the whole most creators encourage this sort of exploration because it is a good thing to get healthy representation out in the world
as for it being used to bully straights thats just funny i dont have anything else on that like if youre straight and you feel threatened and bullied because of someone headcanoning someone as anything that isnt cishet youre a fucking idiot and a weak baby idiot at that like the real world must fucking suck for you because lgbt+ people are everywhere and statistically a big chunk of your favorite characters arent cishet sorry be mad about it
lets roll down a bit further about the big meat of the issue which was when several artists were drawing interpretations of lydia as a black girl which i loved but clearly this person didnt love it because they have a very narrow and very racist and problematic view of what it means to be a black person
and before i move forward i must reiderate that i am a white person and you should listen to the thoughts of poc people like @fright-of-their-lives or @gender-chaotic it is not my place to explain what the black experience is like and it certainly isnt this persons either
implying that the story of a black person isnt worth telling unless if the character faces struggles like racism and prejudice is downright moronic
why use the word kissable to describe a black persons lips now thats what i call fetishistic and its to another extreme if youre talking about a black version of lydia on top of that
the author of this post says herself that shes white so clearly shes the person whos an authority on the black experience and what it means to be a black person right am i reading that right or am i having a fucking conniption
how about allowing black characters to exist without having to struggle why cant a black version of lydia just be a goth teenager with a ghost problem who likes photography and is also black like she doesnt have to move to a hick town and get abused by racist folks she doesnt have to go through any more shit than she already goes through and if you honestly think thats the only way to tell a black persons story you need to get your brain cleaned
you know nothing about the complexities about being a black person and i dont either but you know wh odo black people who are doing black versions of canon characters they fucking know
lets squiggle down just a bit further
so the writer has issues with giving characters traits like a broad nose or larger lips if theyre a woman but if theyre a man suddenly its totally okay to go all ryan murphy ahs coven papa legba appropriation when approaching character design like are you fucking stupid do you hear yourself is that really how you see black men like what the fuck is wrong with you
none of the shit youre spewing takes bravery it takes ignorance and supreme levels of stupidity
do you really think you with your fic where a black lgbt+ woman is tortured and abused where you use the n word with a hard r to refer to her like that shits not okay its fucking depraved and yeah we know you love being shitty but like christ on a bike thats so much
can we also talk about this
Tumblr media
what the fuck is this fetishistic bull roar garbage calling this black character beyonce dressing her up in quote fuck me heels unquote are you are you seriously gonna write this and say its a shining example of how to write a black character youre basically saying ope here she is shes a sex icon haha im so progressive and i clealry understand the black experience hahahaha fuck you oh my god
on top of that theres a point where this character is only referred to as curly hair or the fact that the n word is used in the fic with the hard r like thats hands down not okay for you to use especially not in a manner like this jesus christ
oop heres a little more a sampling for you of the hell i am enduring in reading this drivel
Tumblr media
oh boy lets put a leash on the angry black woman character lets put her in a leash and have the man imply hes a master like are you kidding me are you for real and what the fuck is with calling her shit like j lo and beyonce do you actually think thats clever at all are you just thinking of any poc that comes into your head for this
also lydia fucking tells this girl that she shouldnt have lost her temper like she got fucking leashed im so tired why is this writing so problematic and also so bad
hold up before i lose my head lets look at some of her own comments on the matter of this character and what happens to her
Tumblr media
hi hello youre just casually tossing the word lynch out there in the wide open world as if thats not a problem that is still real like are you fucking unhinged there have been multiple cases of this exact thing happening in our firepit of a country in the last five months alone like how can you still have shit like this up for people to read how can you be proud of work like this in this climate
and also what the fuck is that last bit
what the actual fuck
i dont speak for black people as a white person but you do!? im sorry i had to get my punctuation out for that because wow thats fucking asinine just because one black person read your fic and didnt find the torture and abuse of your one black character abhorrant doesnt mean that the vast majority of people not only in the fandom but in the human population with decency are going to think its okay because its not
i started this post hoping to be level headed and professional but jesus fucking christ this woman is something else white nationalism is alive and well folks and its name is rae
if you defend this woman you defend some truly abhorrant raecism

in order to get some perspective on these issues more fully some of the writing by the author was examined and on the whole it was pretty unreadable but i want to just call back to the very beginning of this essay where the person in question talked about holding canon in high regard but then in their writing they just go around giving people magic and shit and ignoring the end of the movie entirely like are you canon compliant or nah
the writing doesnt even read like beetlejuice fanfic it reads as self indulgent fiction you could easily change the names and its just a bad fanfic from 2007
also can we talk about writing the lesbian character as an angry man hater like its 2020 dude and als olets touch on that girl on girl pandering while beetlejuice is just there like here we go fetishizing again wee
i cant find a way to work this into this already massive post but
Tumblr media
im going to throw up
okay so thats a lot we have covered a lot today and im sure my ask box will regret it but this definitely should have been more picked apart when it happened
please feel free to add more to this i would love more perspectives than just my own.

Thoughts on The Yaois
When it came to my attention that Mister Wrflrfyfcrs most popular yaoi slash pairing was with the target of his hate crime, I was surprised. When I asked The Quoll regarding this, he slid beneath my kitchen sink (I store the trash there, he enjoys it) and did not remove himself for three entire days. After much examination of the existing Yaois, I came to the conclusion that most of it relies on the same misread of the very political allegory of Meteor City - essential to understanding the character, as our main representative - that I noticed in both anime adaptations (which I haven’t even seen in full, sue me.) There is also the worrying issue that the Chimera Ant Arc isn’t on Netflix yet, and many people haven’t read the manga past the anime or Volume 0 of the manga - which never saw an English release. I understand and sympathize with the Weeb Struggle, however, and will do my best to elucidate on my confusion in the following points.
1. My Man Did a Hate Crime
Look, you don’t need to take polisci classes to know what genocide is. Considering the Spider’s existing canon attitude towards children (see: showing Gon and Killua mercy, their care of Kalluto, the fact that Meteor City is indeed the city that cares for the abandoned infants of the entire HxH universe) and contrast it with Chrollo killing the children of the Kurtas first. Consider that they showed no regard for whether an individual exhibited the Scarlet Eyes or not. When Uvo says he just figured the Boss liked the color, consider that he’s one of Chrollo’s hand-raised cult kids and not just him but even Hisoka’s information about Chrollo and the Spider are actually wrong. It’s likely he had no idea - the Head gives orders, the Legs follow.
Chrollo wanted to wipe that entire tribe out so badly, he left the same message the suicide bombers of Meteor City leave behind. (No, but really, I was even told that the suicide bomber aspect was downplayed in the anime, whereas in the manga it ran me over like a damn mack truck so hard I deliberately constructed my own religion that had nothing to do with Islam.) (I bolded this because I am Fucking Internet Old)
2. It Wasn’t About the Eyes
Seeing Chrollo being entranced and waxing poetic about the beauty of Kurapika’s eyes is just kinda lol to me. Chrollo kinda represents the rage of the oppressed turned sour. The violence of an oppressed group (don’t tell me the people who absorb the world’s trash and live in a hostile polluted desert aren’t) is fundamentally different from your standard violent bloody personal revenge character arc (see: Kurapika) but Chrollo is an example of carrying it too far. I don’t think he was traumatized by a harsh upbringing (on a more personal, standard level, but the existing state of Meteor City is harsh) but that he sees the outer world as explicitly evil and even though he learned about it and walked there, he still hates every aspect of it. In his battle with Hisoka he shows us what he sees outsiders as: mere objects for him to use as weapons.
Hmm. Compare that with his state of belief in the soul and his genuine love for his friends.
3. Suicide Bombers, No Shit
The ideal of martyrdom is actually one of the few and most prominent facts we know about Meteor City. The Sun and Moon, anyone? Chrollo himself has done his best to carry this prioritization of the collective and the cause above all. He has struggled to dehumanize himself to fit this ideal of martyrdom and has spent his life assuring the members of his own little personal cult that he is no more important than any of them, that any of them could fill his shoes. Huh, much different than most cult leaders. As a character, you learn more about him by reading into his Spider than reading into the man himself, he doesn’t say much. But what he says does hit. His first priority, and something essential to writing his POV, is the Spider comes first above anything else. It’s some fucked up primitive communism/typical cult shit for sure.
Hey, did you know the Christian Ideals of giving the entire self up for the Lord is like, actually plays a role in lot of fundie bullshit? I just thought that was interesting. Also, even with seat belts, hundreds of people die in car accidents a year???????
4. Yes, I Have A Kurokura WIP, How Fucking Annoying, Why Am I Like This, Send Help
Anywho, I went on my rant and avoided traumatizing my good twitter friends with my constant qwroflrord yelling! Good night.

CHAPTER 1
SPRING SHOWER
When Kamado Tanjirou first saw him, he was mesmerized.
The young boy had never met anyone as beautiful as Tomioka Giyuu.
Ink black hair with skin as white as the snow around him and eyes that reminded Tanjirou of the sea…
He was the Omega of every Alpha's dream.
Tanjirou was fifteen when his family was slaughtered.
It was a bright and sunny day when Tanjirou descended the mountain to sell coals to the villagers. By the time he had returned, his family’s bodies had gone cold and the house bathed by the blood of his mother and siblings.
The only survivor was his sister, Nezuko. Tanjirou found her safely tucked in bed with bandages wrapped over her body and an elderly man wearing a tengu mask sitting by her side.
That was the first time he met Urokodaki Sakonji.
Urokodaki was a samurai wandering the land. He was just passing by the mountain when he encountered his family being attacked by bandits. Although he had swiftly dealt with them, he was still too late and Nezuko was the only one that survived.
Tanjirou never saw the bodies of the bandits.
Urokodaki had disposed of them, but he didn’t touch Tanjirou’s family out of respect. When Tanjirou began digging holes to bury his family, the elderly man helped. It was then that Tanjirou saw just how strong the man was. Despite his age, he could carry weight twice as heavy as his own body and was overall just way more efficient than him.
The man stayed with them for a week before he needed to continue his journey.
On that day, he turned to Tanjirou.
“Your father was an Alpha?” He asked. Although it was a question, his tone was certain.
“Alpha?” Tanjirou shared a look with Nezuko. Neither of them had any idea what the man was talking about.
“If you want to live, go to Sagiri mountain, boy," Urokodaki told him as he put on his straw hat. “Your time is running out.”
Tanjirou wanted to ask what the man meant, but in a blink of an eye, the elderly man vanished as if he was never even there. The two siblings were dumbfounded. They had no idea what had happened…how was it possible for a person to disappear like that? But the deep footprint within the snow reminded them that their eyes weren't playing tricks on them.
A grown man had disappeared before their eyes.
With nowhere to go and no idea what to do, Tanjirou and Nezuko decided to go to Mt. Sagiri. They could no longer stay in the home they grew up in. There was no telling if there were more of those bandits that might come looking for their missing companion.
They had to leave.
Taking what little valuables they had, the two siblings set off on their journey.
The trip to Sagiri mountain was long, especially with Nezuko was still recovering from her injuries
When they arrived at the foot of the mountain, Tanjirou saw him—Tomioka Giyuu.
The man was standing in the field of white snow with his raven hair tied into a low ponytail. His split coloured yukata was blowing wildly in the chilling wind. Despite dressing so less, the man didn’t seem cold at all.
Those blue eyes were trained on Tanjirou for the longest time before his fine brows furrowed.
“How old are you?” His voice was smooth and the sound made something inside Tanjirou trembled lightly.
“I’m fifteen.”
“Fifteen.” The man muttered, more to himself than to the two children.
“Um, we were sent here by Urokodaki-san—”
“Come with me.” The man didn’t wait for him to finish. He turned his back to the two kids before he took off. Gasping, Tanjirou and Nezuko hurried after the man.
Fast wasn’t something Tanjirou could describe the man’s movement. Each one of his footprints within the snow was at least two meters apart. He was like a snow hare, hopping gracefully through the snowy field. It didn’t take long for him to vanish from their sight. The only clues they had were the light footprints embedded within the snow.
It didn’t take long for Nezuko to reach her limit, so Tanjirou stopped to carry her onto his back before he trailed after the footprints and the light scent in the air.
By the time they arrived at the mountain top, Tanjirou was completely out of breathe. The thin air at the mountain top also did nothing to help the burning in his lungs. Nevertheless, he stared in awe at the huge manor before him with the blue-eyed man standing by the gate with a bunch of people dressed in black kimono lined up behind him.
"Take them in and organize a place for them to stay." The raven-haired man who was apparently the master of the place ordered before he vanished in a similar fashion that Urokodaki had. While the Kamado siblings were once more stunned, the people in black were not and escorted them into the manor.
That was how Tanjirou truly began his life.
Not the life of a child of a coal family, but the life of an Alpha.
The world they live in is populated by beings known as humans.
Within humans, there were only two categories.
Males and females.
These two were the dominant races, but in reality, there were three more types.
The first two were Alpha and Omega.
They have the appearance and forms of humans, but that was it. Alphas and Omegas have heightened senses far surpasses any humans. They can run faster than the eye could follow, they have the power to crush a boulder with their bare fist, and they can channel a special power inside their body, manifesting them during combat.
Alphas and Omegas were natural-born warriors with an average lifespan of three hundred years.
The two are completely identical in everything other than the fact that Omegas can give birth to children.
Lastly, there was Beta.
Betas are the offspring of when an Alpha or Omega marries an ordinary human. Betas were all born powerless. They were pretty much the same as humans, other than the fact that their body was still stronger than humans and their lifespan was as long as the same as the other two dynamics.
A long time ago, Alphas and Omegas were the dominant species in the land.
Humans were the lesser species that these powerful creatures never bat an eye at, as they weren't even worthy of their time. However, as Alpha and Omega strive for power and control, war eventually broke out.
The war lasted years, coming to an end with nearly all the Alphas and Omegas wiped out. Since then, the survivors lived out rather peaceful lives in secret—blending within the humans whose numbers began to flourish.
Nowadays, not many people know about Alphas and Omegas anymore. The only ones that knew were those with long family histories passed down to them. Even so, their existence was considered a myth.
Though there are still those who believed in such myths—the feudal lords being the perfect example.
In these war-ridden times, Alphas and Omegas were the perfect weapons to be used on their enemy. A single one of them could take down thousands of soldiers. Even bullets were useless against them with their superior speed and sturdy bodies. Just a single one of them can easily take down an entire castle. That was why the feudal lords that believed in the existence of Alphas and Omegas searched through the land for them.
Unfortunately for these feudal lords, their searches were bound to be fruitless.
Alpha and Omegas have known to hidden themselves quite well, and even if they were to be discovered, they can easily wipe out an entire army. The chance for the feudal lords to control them was zero from the very beginning.
On top of that, Alphas and Omegas have established their own organization and connections across the land.
There was no name to their organization, so they just called it the Corps.
The Corps was controlled by a single master whom everyone referred to as Oyakata-sama. Beneath the master were the nine leaders—the Hashiras. Each of these Hashiras was stationed at a certain part in the land of the rising sun, governing the region they've been assigned to.
Tomioka Giyuu was one of those Hashiras.
Under these Hashiras were ordinary Alphas and Omegas warriors, sorted into ranks from their strength. And under them were the Kakushis. The Kakushis were Betas that wish to become part of the Corps and have important tasks of serving under each Hashira and managing their households.
Though many Alphas and Omegas seemingly have gathered together, there were still many lost somewhere within the land, their origin and identities long forgotten.
Kamado Tanjirou found that he was one of those lost ones.
He was an Alpha, while Nezuko was a Beta.
To give birth to an Alpha and Beta, one of the parents must be an ordinary human and the other either an Alpha or Omega. Tanjirou’s mother was a human for certain. If she had been an Omega, there was no way she could have been killed by humans—which meant that his father was an Alpha.
Within Alphas and Omegas, there was also something else separates them from Beta and humans.
That is the growth spurt.
Due to their longer lifespan, Alphas and Omegas mature at twenty. The moment they’ve reached thirteen years old, their body stopped growing. During these years where their growth stopped, their bodies were quietly gathering and storing energy. On the day they turn twenty, this energy will burst out, reshaping the Alpha and Omega and they will experience excruciating pain.
Their flesh and bones will stretch and reshape, forcing them to turn into the bodies of an adult over one night.
This was usually a very safe process as Alphas and Omegas were born with strong bodies and have undergone intense training throughout the years to prepare them for the growth spurt.
Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Alphas and Omegas that had no clues about their identities. If left alone, their body wouldn't be able to handle the pressure of the change and they will die. Even if they were strong enough to survive thanks to their strong bloodline, they will become nothing but sick ridden adults more vulnerable to diseases than humans.
Tanjirou and Nezuko’s father was the perfect example of that.
Tanjirou only has five years to strengthen his body. If he didn’t make it in time, he will die or become just like his father.
◌ ◌ ◌ ◌ ◌ ◌ ◌ ◌ ◌ ◌ ◌ ◌ ◌ ◌ ◌ ◌ ◌ ◌
The first time Tomioka Giyuu met Kamado Tanjirou, he didn’t know what to think.
When he had received a message from his mentor about an Alpha he found, he was expecting a child no older than ten.
He was most definitely not expecting a fifteen years old boy.
His first impression of the red-haired boy was less than good. He was weak—too weak. He lacked the physical strength an Alpha should have, and he even lacked the senses an Alpha should possess. His sense of smell was the only thing that remained from his Alpha bloodline.
The boy’s body wasn’t getting the necessary nutrient it needed, so to preserve energy, his body limited many functions he should have had.
The first thing Giyuu did was to write out a training manual. He needed to improve the boy's health as fast as he can. The boy didn't have much time left. Giyuu sent his orders to the Kakushis to make sure that Tanjirou finishes all the meals he’ll be given. Every single day, he could personally train the boy and tried to teach him their breathing techniques that all Alphas and Omegas should be capable of.
However, all of these were fruitless.
The boy’s stomach was only so big and can only shove down so many foods. With his body restraining his potentials, he can never get stronger no matter how much Giyuu trained him. His lungs couldn’t expand enough for him to perform any breathing techniques.
A month down, all Giyuu managed to do was beat the boy black and blue and caused him stomach aches. Tanjirou never complained or whined, but that did not mean that Giyuu didn’t feel the guilt.
The Water Hashira wondered if he was a bad teacher.
What exactly was he supposed to do?
Giyuu didn't know, as he had never taught children before. He had only trained full-grown adults that already knew breathing techniques. All he taught them was swordsmanship and that was still too early for Tanjirou.
Until he figures it out, Giyuu had Tanjirou rest for a couple of days to nurse his bruises. Even the boy's healing speed was slower than his sister.
As Giyuu was sitting in his room pondering over what he should do, his eyes landed on a stack of letters on his shelves. After the Hashira took Tanjirou in, it was his duty to report to the master to register Tanjirou’s name. After that, words soon spread throughout the members of the Corps, informing everyone that the Water Hashira has finally taken in a Tsuguko. Naturally, the other Hashiras were the first to be notified.
Many of then sent congratulation letters—even Sanemi and Iguro, though it was obvious that their letters weren't written by them but their subordinates. Although their letters were just simple congratulations out of courtesy, the fact that they could be sent at all means the two Hashiras had approved it.
Giyuu looked through the letters before finding the one he had been looking for.
It was a letter that had been dyed into a sakura pink colour.
The letter from the Love Hashira—Kanroji Mitsuri.
That evening, a Kasugaigarasu flew out of the Water Estate.
The very next morning, Giyuu was welcomed with a cheerful Kanroji and a pissed off Iguro at his doorstep...
The Water Hashira stared, completely stunned as he was not expecting the Love Hashira to respond so fast let alone come all the way here.
“Well? Aren’t you going to let us in, Tomioka?” Iguro spat and narrowed those mismatched eyes to glare at the Water Hashira responsible for this unpleasant trip.
“Yes, yes! Let us meet your Tsuguko, Tomioka-san!” Kanroji gushed, adjusting the large bundle tied to her back.
Giyuu stepped aside to allow the two guests in before closing the door. When the Kakushi working in the yard saw the two Hashiras walking in, they nearly wet themselves and frantically got onto their hands and knees, paying respect to the pair.
“Gotou, find Tanjirou and have him meet us in the guest room," Giyuu ordered the head Beta who bowed and hurried off to search for the Tsuguko.
Giyuu led the two Hashiras into the guestroom and the Kakushis immediately prepared hot tea and snacks for the honorable guests.
“Thank you for coming, Kanroji," Giyuu dipped his head to the Love Hashira.
Next to Kanroji, the Snake Hashira twitched in irritation at being ignored.
“It’s no problem! I’m just happy that you’ve asked me to help!” Kanroji was smiling so brightly that Giyuu found it a little blinding. Not used to dealing with these types of people, all he could do was avoid eye contact. Thankfully, Kanroji didn’t even notice and pink flowers were practically materializing from her joy. “You have no idea how excited everyone was when they heard about your Tsuguko! Even Obanai-san was curious—”
“I wasn’t curious!”
“—about this boy!” Kanroji exclaimed, completely dismissing her mate as she gobbled up some snacks. “So where did you find him, Tomioka-san?”
“I didn’t. Urokodaki-san did.” Giyuu replied. “He came across them after their family was killed by bandits.”
Kanroji gasped, her hands flying to her mouth as sadness flooded over her face.
“Them?” Iguro arched a brow.
“He has a Beta sister.”
“What about their parent?” Kanroji asked. "Surely is one of their parents is an Omega or Alpha—"
"Their father was an Alpha, but he passed away due to illness."
“Illness?” Iguro narrowed his eyes. “Tomioka, don’t tell me your Tsuguko is—”
Iguro shut his mouth as his eyes snapped to the door. A couple of seconds later, a shadow of a person could be seen moving on the other side of the shoji before getting down onto his knees.
“Tomioka-san, it’s Tanjirou.” The voice of a young boy’s called from the other side.
"Come in," Giyuu said, granting the boy permission of entry.
When the door opened, Kanroji stared with wide eyes at the boy that was revealed.
Tanjirou wasn't informed of their guests and looked a bit stunned.
When he saw Giyuu nodding at him, he shuffled over to Giyuu’s side and sat down with his back completely straight from the intense aura rolling off the Alpha Omega pair.
“This is my Tsuguko, Kamado Tanjirou.” Giyuu said to his two companions before turning to Tanjirou. “This is the Love Hashira, Kanroji, and the Snake Hashira, Iguro.”
“Kanroji-san, Iguro-san.” Tanjirou bowed to each of them.
“Such an adorable boy!” Kanroji swooned after getting over the initial surprise.
The Snake Hashira however, wasn’t so impressed as he turned to Giyuu.
“This kid is at least fourteen.”
“He is fifteen.” Giyuu corrected.
Iguro shot Giyuu a glare before shifting his eyes to Tanjirou who sat stiffly under his hard gaze.
“You should send him back to wherever he came from, Tomioka. Training him will be a waste of time.”
“Obanai-san!”
“He never received any form of training or ate enough to store up energy. There’s no possible way for him to survive the growth spurt.”
“Obanai-san, not in front of the child!” Kanroji reprimanded, but Iguro was done.
“This is a waste of time.” The Snake Hashira said as he stood up and walked towards the door. “I will wait for you at the entrance, Mitsuri.”
The door opened and closed. It only took a second for the Snake Hashira’s presence to vanish from the other two Hashiras’ senses.
Kanroji stared at the door, jaw slack, then to Tanjirou apologetically.
“I’m so sorry, my mate didn’t mean anything bad—”
"It's all right." Tanjirou smiled at the kind lady. “Thank you.”
If anything, Kanroji felt even more awful now. She looked to Giyuu who looked indifferent as usual.
“Tanjirou, leave us," Giyuu said, the coldness in his voice made the Love Hashira shifted nervously as she glanced back to the child. Thankfully, Tanjirou didn’t seem to mind Giyuu’s coldness. He just smiled at Giyuu, giving another bow to Kanroji before he left.
Once he was far enough, Kanroji slowly turned back to Giyuu.
“Tomioka-san, Obanai-san didn't mean anything bad. He just…" Kanroji groaned. “He just didn’t want you to get hurt.”
That’s right.
Iguro was thinking about Giyuu’s sake. Even though Iguro didn’t like Giyuu, he wasn’t the kind of person to sit on the sideline and watch him fall. The boy was doomed to die, so he saw no point in Giyuu investing his time and emotion onto the boy as he will only be hurt later on. It wasn’t that Iguro was being cruel. He felt for the boy, but his fate has already been decided.
Giving both of them hope at this point would just be cruel.
Despite how he acted, Iguro was kind.
“Tanjirou’s body doesn't have enough nutrient, so all his functions as an Alpha has been suppressed. He cannot learn any breathing techniques in his current state. I need some ways to increase his nutrient intake as fast as possible."
“Shinobu-chan might have medicines that can help with that but I don't think those would be enough even if he drinks them every day. He needs all sorts of nutrients and…oh!" Kanroji set down the large baggage she had been carrying this entire time. She the cloth, opening it to reveal countless books. “I brought these for you! When I heard you need advice for your Tsuguko, I had no idea what age he was in so I brought as many books as I can!”
Giyuu looked over the books and found that most of them were those foreign books from beyond the sea. The materials for the covers used were very different from their books and some even had pictures.
Curious, Giyuu picked one up and found that it was a book for parenting. He looked over to another one and it was a fairy tale for kids. When Giyuu finally found a book he was more familiar with, he picked it up. The book was old and ragged with the page already starting to loosen from the string. Judging from the title, this must be a textbook from some school.
The Water Hashira has no idea where the Love Hashira got all these books, but he was thankful. Although these books may not be useful, she had spent her time gathering them for Tanjirou.
“Aha!” Kanroji gave out a victory shout as she held a book into the air. Giyuu couldn't tell what kind of book it was, but it's a book from Japan. The pink-haired Hashira put the book down and began to flip through the pages.
As she did so, Giyuu finally got a glimpse of the title on the cover and froze.
It was an Omega pregnancy guide.
“Ah, don’t misunderstand, Tomioka-san!” The Love Hashira blushed when she realized how misleading the book might be. “I just thought that if your Tsuguko is a newborn, this could be helpful!”
Giyuu just nodded, not sure what she meant by misunderstand.
“It should be here somewhere…” Kanroji mumbled as she flipped through the pages until…
“I found it!” She squealed and began to read.
Giyuu sat there, patiently waiting for Kanroji to finish reading what she needed.
“This is it!” Kanroji beamed as honeydew green eyes snapped up to him. “We can let Tanjirou-kun drink Omega milk!”
“Omega milk?” Giyuu frowned.
“Yes!” Kanroji turned the book around for Giyuu to read. "Omega milk is the most nutritious thing in this world! Not only that, but the milk also contains energy of the Omega! The stronger the Omega, the more nutrient the milk will have! If Tanjirou drinks Omega milk, then he can gather enough strength for his body to release the limit on his Alpha abilities!
Giyuu frowned as his eyes swiftly scanned over the contents on the page.
“We can ask Oyakata-sama if there are any Omegas that can—”
“How do you produce milk?”
“…Eh?” Kanroji blinked at Giyuu, wondering if she had heard right.
“How do Omegas produce milk?” Giyuu asked once more, looking seriously at Kanroji.
Kanroji stared at Giyuu for a long, long time before her face became extremely red with steam shooting out of her ears.
“Ueeeeh?!”
Giyuu blinked, unable to understand the meaning behind her reaction.
“W-wait, I think I have it somewhere!” Kanroji then began rumbling through the books again.
It can’t be that Giyuu was planning on doing it, right?
She was going to suggest asking the master if there are any Omegas that could send some milk to the Water Estate for the boy to drink!
She didn’t think the Water Hashira would take it that way! But then again, if it was Giyuu, then his milk will no doubt be of the highest quality considering his status as a Hashira…but Giyuu wasn’t mated!
On top of that, Giyuu himself only turned into an adult not that long ago! For such young and unmated Omega to nurture a child so old already…
And it’ll be awkward, wouldn’t it? Even if it’s just in a cup, wouldn’t it be hard for the boy to drink knowing where it came from?
“L-let me see...” Kanroji snatched up another book. This one was a guide to Omegas. She had brought it in case Giyuu’s Tsuguko was an Omega.
"Well…there two ways for Omega to produce milk. The first is through pregnancy, the second is if the Omega has a dependent child that needed to be nursed." She pointed at the last section on the page. "Just rub your scent gland over the Tanjirou-kun’s every day to let your body know that a child needs your care, and you should be able to produce milk!"
“…Thank you.” Giyuu said gratefully as he accepted the book. “Thank you, Kanroji.” He repeated, placing his palms flat on the tatami and bowed down. His action startled Kanroji who quickly grabbed his arm and pulled him back up.
“Don’t be like that, Tomioka-san!” Kanroji shouted frantically while internally, she was practically gushing at how adorable the Water Hashira was. To think the usual cold and aloof Giyuu would behave this way!
All for the sake of his Tsuguko!
This must be the power of love!
“I’m a Hashira too! It’s my job to help everyone! Tanjirou-kun looks like a really sweet boy! If there is anything else you need, call me anytime!”
“Thank you.” Giyuu thanked again.
“Well, I should get going. I don’t want Obanai-san to wait too long.” Kanroji clapped happily, getting up with Giyuu following suit.
Giyuu walked the other Omega to the front door where Iguro was waiting. The Snake Hashira was leaning against the gate with his arms crossed over his chest. The Kakushis there were shaking like the autumn leaves, not knowing what they should do considering how it’ll be rude for them to continue working (or pretend not to see) when a Hashira was in their presence.
The dark-haired Omega was completely oblivious to his Betas’ grateful gazes as Kanroji ran over to her mate. With a few more exchanges of words, the two Hashiras took off with speed no one but Giyuu’s eyes were able to follow.
“Caw!”
Hearing the familiar sound of his crow, Giyuu looked up to see his Kasugaigarasu fluttering down from the sky. The Water Hashira held out an arm for the bird to land. The poor thing was clearly out of breath as it panted heavily with its black feathers ruffled. It was obvious that it flew back the moment it finished delivering the letter.
Compared to the abnormal speed of which Alpha and Omega could run at, the crow had done very well.
Giyuu rewarded the crow with a couple of gentle strokes on its head before ordering the Kakushi to give the bird some food and well-deserved rest.
◌ ◌ ◌ ◌ ◌ ◌ ◌ ◌ ◌ ◌ ◌ ◌ ◌ ◌ ◌ ◌ ◌ ◌
Tanjirou was sitting in the garden, staring off into space when he smelled someone approaching. By now, Tanjirou had familiarized himself with everyone's scent, so he could easily tell whose scent this was. He turned and smiled at the sight of a raven-haired man walking up to him.
“Murata-san!” He greeted brightly.
“Hey there.” Murata greeted back and sat down right beside him with a long sigh.
“You smelled troubled, is everything alright?” Tanjirou asked worriedly.
"That nose is amazing as usual," Murata commented. When Murata had first learned about Tanjirou’s nose, he was shocked. Could anyone blame him though? The boy’s body was supposed to be suppressing his abilities as an Alpha, yet he was still able to have such a good sense of smell.
Every time Murata thought about this, he couldn’t help but wonder who were Tanjirou’s ancestors. Whoever they were, they must be strong considering the strong bloodline running through the boy’s veins.
“Nah, I’m just glad those two Hashiras are gone.” Murata sighed. “I don’t think I can stand it if they start coming by often! Just Tomioka-san is enough to handle, don’t you think?”
“That’s not true!” Tanjirou shouted, leaning right into Murata’s personal space and forcing him to back up. “Tomioka-san is very kind and gentle!”
Murata blinked, staring at Tanjirou with eyes as wide as saucers before he broke out into a loud laugh.
“You’re the only one who can say that with a straight face!” His laugher gradually died and turned into a bitter. He looked over the bandages peeking out from under Tanjirou’s sleeves. He knew how battered the boy’s body was, given that he was there most of the time when Giyuu was whacking him into shape.
“Are your injuries recovering well?”
“Yes! I should be fully recovered in another five days!” Tanjirou answered rather enthusiastically.
“I know that Tomioka-san has been pretty harsh on you." Murata began, seeming to struggle with his wordings. "But he didn't mean anything bad. He's just—"
"I know," Tanjirou said with a soft smile on his lips. “Everything Tomioka-san did was for my sake.”
“As long as you know.” Murata let out a small sigh of relief. "I was afraid you might hate him for it or something."
“I would never hate him!” Tanjirou immediately shouted, causing the smile on Murata’s face to brighten.
The older Omega glanced around the rather empty garden.
“There used to be more of us here you know?”
“Eh?” Tanjirou looked at the older man.
"Alphas and Omegas all lived in packs." Murata sighed once more. "I guess you wouldn't know since this is the first place you've come to, but in other regions governed by other Hashiras, there are usually at least ten Alphas and Omegas living together. Everyone is like a family even if we're not related by blood, so we're called a pack. But here, it's only Tomioka-san and me. It gets quite lonely you know? That's why we're all excited when you came, Tanjirou!”
“Can I ask what happened?” Tanjirou asked.
“There was a huge battle here nine years ago. Both Tomioka-san was thirteen at the time and I was fourteen. Not all Alphas and Omegas joined the Corps. Because many of them grew up with humans, they have these…ambitions of taking over the land or something like that.” Murata kicked a rock under his feet and watched it landed not far from him. He heaved out another heavy breath.
“To those people, the Corps was the only thing standing in their way. Oyakata-sama disagrees with their ideals and is set on stopping them for the sake of Alphas’ and Omegas’ future, so I guess you can say that we have wars with those rouges. They waited until Urokodaki-san left for his annual Hashira to attack us. All the Alpha and Omegas here were children, so we must seem like easy targets…well, in reality, we are."
Murata leaned back on his hands and looked up the sky.
“Everyone fought…but I was…I was too scared. I was born in a Beta village and was found when I was ten. I was weaker than everyone else and had only learned the very first Water Breathe technique. My water was so weak you can’t even see it…”
The young alpha stared at the moisture gathering in the Omega’s eyes, wanting to comfort him but not knowing how. Murata sniffed as he used his sleeve to wipe his eyes.
“I was a coward…I was the only one hiding inside the house hoping Urokodaki-san would hurry back. That’s when Sabito-san suddenly appeared in front of me.”
“Sabito?”
“You know Tomioka-san’s half patterned kimono?”
“Yes.” Tanjirou nodded slowly. It was the first thing he noticed when he noticed on the Omega because it was so unique.
“Tomioka-san’s originally wore a pure maroon coloured kimono. The yellow and green patterned side belonged to Sabito-san’s kimono. Sabito-san was Tomioka-san’s adoptive brother. He was the strongest Alpha I’ve ever met…he was also the Tsuguko—the next in line to take over Urokodaki-san’s position after he retires.”
Tanjirou’s eyes widened at the information.
“Sabito-san handed me Tomioka-san who was unconscious at the time and covered in blood. He looked like he was going to die at any moment. Sabito-san told me to use the underground passage and escape with Tomioka-san. That time I hadn’t known…but everyone else was already dead. He left behind to buy us time to escape. I…”
Murata chewed on his lower lips as his hands rolled into tight fists. “I was useless and scared, so I did as he told without even thinking. Whenever I remember Tomioka-san’s reaction when he woke up and realized how everyone’s gone, I kept wondering what if…what if I hadn’t…”
“Then you and Tomioka-san would have died," Tanjirou told him. “You did nothing wrong, Murata-san.”
“You said the same thing as Tomioka-san.” Murata laughed as he wiped off some more tears. “I always wished Tomioka-san would blame me, but he never did. He still treated me so kindly…I sometimes don’t feel like I deserve it. Back then when everyone was still around, Tomioka-san wasn’t like this. He smiled a lot and even laugh with everyone.”
Tanjirou felt a spike of pain inside him as he heard of how happy and cheerful Giyuu used to be. In all of his time here, he had never seen Giyuu smile.
Not even once.
The Giyuu knew he was extremely strict during training, and while he was kind and gentle outside of it, his face would never betray his thoughts.
Suddenly, Tanjirou realized that he knew nothing about Giyuu.
Everything he thought he knew was just a small droplet in the vast lake.
“Murata-san.” Tanjirou looked up to Murata. “Thank you.”
“What are you thanking me for?” Murata laughed as if Tanjirou had said some weird joke. He was still furiously scrubbing at his face, trying to stop the water from leaking out.
“Murata-san really likes Tomioka-san, don’t you?”
“Well, he’s my Hashira," Murata mumbled, which made Tanjirou smiled even more.
“Tanjirou.”
“GYAH!” Murata screeched as his body jumped a meter high into the air. The moment he landed on his feet, he scrambled around to come face to face with his Hashira who was staring at him with those usual blank eyes. “T-Tomioka-san!”
Giyuu stared at Murata with a frown weighting down the corner of his lips. “What happened to your eyes?”
“E-eh? Ah, this?” Murata spluttered as he rapidly wiped his eyes until there’s nothing weird leaking out anymore. “Just some sand that got blown into my eyes, isn’t that right, Tanjirou?!”
“Ah?” Tanjirou blinked, looking back and forth between the two Omegas before hastily nodding.
“I see.” Giyuu’s voice was hush, but both of them were able to hear loud and clear. “I will have someone bring some clean water to your room.”
“Oh…um…thank you.” Murata thanked. It took him a couple of seconds to realize that Giyuu meant for him to wash his face and get the filth out. Seriously, why can’t his Hashira be a bit more straightforward with these things?
Tanjirou looked between the two Omegas and smiled at their interactions. But then he remembered how Giyuu had called him when he appeared from seemingly nowhere.
“Is there something you need, Tomioka-san?” Tanjirou asked.
“After you tidy yourself up for the night, come to my room.” That was all Giyuu instructed him before walking away. On the way back to his room, Giyuu called over two Kakushis, handing them a letter addressing to the Butterfly Estate.
That night, after a relaxing hot bath filled and cleaning his teeth, Tanjirou headed to Giyuu’s room. He didn’t need to knock, as the door to Giyuu’s room was wide open. The Water Hashira was sitting on his futon, quietly looking through a book with only the blue moonlight lighting the room.
“Tomioka-san," Tanjirou called out from the doorway as the man closed the book.
“Come, and close the door.”
Tanjirou did as told. The moment he slid the door close behind him, the light faded away, shrouding the room in dark shadows. The young Alpha could barely make out the outline of Giyuu’s form in the darkness as he slowly made his way over. He was just about to stop when he felt his feet stepping on something soft and silky.
It took a moment for him to realize that he had stepped on the edge of Giyuu’s futon. He spluttered a string of apologies as he jumped back and took a seat in front of Giyuu.
"From today onward, you will sleep with me in my room," Giyuu informed his Tsuguko after Tanjirou had fully composed himself…
And then Tanjirou’s mind blanked out.
“…Eh?”
Tanjirou blinked once…then twice…
He waited, hoping Giyuu would give him a follow-up or something, but the Water Hashira didn’t seem like he had anything else to add. For a moment, Tanjirou wondered if he had heard wrong. As the silence stretched on, the boy’s heart was beating faster and faster until those words finally sank in.
"EEEEEH?!"
"We've come up with a solution to quickly allow your body to absorb the nutrient it needs," Giyuu explained and Tanjirou recalled the two Hashiras that were here early this morning.
“Omega milk is the best method at the moment to help your body recover, so you will be drinking that in place of your meals.”
Omega…milk?
“From today onwards, you will need to be in physical contact with me and I will need your scent so that my body can recognize that there is a child I need to care for. Once my body registers that, I should be able to produce milk.”
If Tanjirou’s face was considered red before, then it was now overheating.
He barely understood anything Giyuu had said other than the word milk.
What milk was he going to drink?
Whose milk was he going to drink?!
Kamado Tanjirou’s brain fried right here and there. He could only stare at Giyuu dumbly, unable to come back to reality.
“Let’s sleep.” Giyuu’s announcement was what brought the boy back.
Tanjirou could hear the rustling sound of the blanket being pushed aside and Giyuu was already getting ready for the night.
“Wait, wait, wait! Tomioka-san!” Tanjirou jumped up, only to step on the edge of Giyuu’s futon again. Due to his haste, he didn’t get his footing right and ended up tripping over the futon—crashing right into Giyuu’s chest.
The boy had fallen forward at full force, but Giyuu didn’t even flinch as the boy collided against him. Tanjirou had always expected Giyuu’s body to be hard and filled with muscles considering how much strength he has, but it wasn’t. He could feel the defined lines of muscles through Giyuu’s thin sleepwear, but Giyuu’s body was anything but hard.
If anything, his arms were warm and he was extremely soft to touch.
Tanjirou had learned about Alpha and Omega anatomies. He knew Omegas have better flexibility than Alphas, but never would he imagine that an Omega’s body would be so soft.
And the smell…
Tanjirou didn’t know if he was imagining it, but Giyuu’s scent smelled better and better each passing day. It was as if he was slowly getting drunk on this scent and immersing himself within it without realizing—
No, no, no, that wasn’t something he should be thinking of!
Tanjirou looked up, heart pounding wildly as he saw that gorgeous face looking down at him. Giyuu’s ocean blue eyes seemed to glow in the darkness, adding depths into those eyes as he leaned forward. Tanjirou was petrified as he watched that face coming closer and closer towards his. Just when he thought their noses would touch, Giyuu tilted his head and his face slipped by Tanjirou's—their skin just millimeters from touching.
“Relax, Tanjirou.” Giyuu’s voice whispered by his ears before Tanjirou felt their necks touched.
Tanjirou may have an acute smell, but that was only general smells. Due to the Alpha genes inside him being asleep, he wasn’t able to smell the special scent that Alpha and Omega produces. His scent gland was also underdeveloped—hidden beneath his skin until he fully changes into his adult form.
So right now, all it felt like to Tanjirou was just Giyuu rubbing that small bump on his pale neck against his.
To Giyuu however, it was different. The raven’s brows furrowed as his scent gland itched at the foreign scent latching onto his skin. Since Tanjirou wasn’t his biological child, his body wouldn’t accept the boy immediately. He will have to repeat the process a couple of times until his body familiarized itself with this scent.
Giyuu sighed as he switched to the other side and filled his other scent gland with Tanjirou’s distinctive smell. After that, he pulled a blanket over them both and rested his head onto the pillow with one arm wrap securely around the boy.
"Sleep," Giyuu ordered, already tired as he closed his eyes.
Tanjirou lay in his mentor’s arms stiffly, still trying to wrap his head around what had happened and why it happened.
Needless to say, Tanjirou did not get a wink of sleep that night.

“Thank you very much!”
Kamado Nezuko bowed to the two female Betas hat had knocked on the Water Estate early in the morning. Bidding them goodbye, she closed the gate with a large package in hand.
“Nezuko-chan, who was that?”
“Gotou-san!” Nezuko smiled at the sight of the head Kakushi coming over to her after hearing the door closing. “The people from the Butterfly Estate came to deliver this.”
“Oh!” Gotou’s eyes shone. “It’s probably the stuff Tomioka-sama requested a couple of days ago. Can you bring it to him?"
Nodding happily, Nezuko hurried off to find Giyuu. Much like Tanjirou, she also really liked the man that had taken his place to become their guardians. More than that, the Omega was doing everything he could to help her big brother—
“Uwaaah!” Nezuko screamed as she jumped back at the sight of her brother who was like a walking zombie.
“Oh, Nezuko, good morning…” Tanjirou greeted in the form of a wide yawn.
“Onii-chan, what happened?” Nezuko gapped at the dark bags under Tanjirou’s eyes. “You looked like you hadn’t slept for months!”
"Just three days," Tanjirou mumbled, rubbing his tired eyes.
Ever since Giyuu announced that they were going to sleep in the same bed three days ago, Tanjirou had not been able to sleep at all. The boy knew he wasn’t going to last at this rate. Tonight, he might seriously fall asleep which would be bad in so many ways.
He didn’t know why he was even struggling or what he was struggling with. He just felt like he shouldn’t sleep no matter what…
Tanjirou had never been so afraid in his entire life, just thinking of the possibly sent a chill down his back.
“Onii-chan?”
“S-sorry Nezuko, I uh…have to go!” Tanjirou hurriedly ran off, leaving a confused Nezuko staring after her brother.
“Nezuko.”
Hearing the call of her name, Nezuko turned around and saw Giyuu standing right behind her.
“Tomioka-san!” She gasped in surprise.
Giyuu didn’t say anything as his eyes shifted to the package in her hands. Remembering what she was here for, she handed it over to Giyuu who muttered a soft thank.
“Have you seen Tanjirou?”
“Ah, he ran off somewhere just now…” Nezuko replied honestly. Giyuu just nodded before he turned and walked off with the package in his arms. Nezuko briefly wondered if something happened, but she shrugged it off.
With Giyuu here, what could go wrong?
That night, Tanjirou found himself in the same, compromising position as he had for the past three nights. His smaller body was pressed against Giyuu with the older man’s arms draped over him. All of his senses were filled with Giyuu but his body was too tired and his heart no longer had the energy to pump as fast as the first night.
His eyelids were heavy and he was using all of his power just to not doze off.
He tried to think of many things to distract himself, but eventually sleep won him over and he fell into the blissful darkness.
It felt like ages since Tanjirou woke up feeling so warm and refreshed. His eyes were still closed, stubbornly refusing to open as he buried his face into the warmth pressed against him. He rubbed his cheek against the smooth texture of the warm object and sighed in bliss.
Just as Tanjirou was about to fall back into the sweet slumber, he caught a whiff of something within the air.
It was a refreshing scent of pine in the frosty winter.
It was Giyuu’s scent.
Tanjirou’s brain that was submerging into the darkness stopped.
He lay there, spending a good minute trying to process the new information when it suddenly came to him like a bucket of icy cold water. Raspberry red eyes snapped open to see the snow-white skin which his cheek was pressed up against. Blood rushed to his face so fast that it made him feel faint.
The boy scrambled up and tried to crawl away. Unfortunately for him, he didn’t get far as his mentor’s arms were wrapped firmly around him.
“Tomioka-san!” If anything, Tanjirou was even more embarrassed when he saw those ocean blue eyes watching his every move without any hint of drowsiness from sleep.
Giyuu didn’t speak. He just sat up, arms sliding off the boy to reach for his kimono, fixing the collar so that his chest was no longer as exposed.
“Did you sleep well?”
“Y-YES!” Tanjirou shouted as he scrambled up, face burning. “I—”
Tanjirou was about to bow down to express how sorry he was when a pale hand came into his sight. A long slender finger gently brushed by the dark bag under Tanjirou’s left eye, the touch tickled his skin like a feather.
The boy stilled for a couple of seconds—not even daring to breathe.
It was only when the fingers left his skin that Tanjirou looked up and his eyes widened at what he was seeing.
The corners of Giyuu’s lips were curved up slightly and those blue eyes had a gentle look to them as he stared down at him.
“Good.”
Tanjirou watched as Giyuu got up, catching a glimpse of those long slender legs, smooth without any hair, before the white kimono covered them up. Fixing the collar of his kimono, Giyuu walked out of his room just like any other times they slept together.
The young Alpha sat on the futon alone in the large room. His stared at the door where Giyuu had walked through, a little dazed. It took a couple of minutes, but once he snapped out, he quickly got off the futon and began folding the bed for his mentor. After putting everything into the closet and making sure the tatami was spotless, he ran for his room to get changed.
The moment Tanjirou stepped outside, he was stunned by the sight of the reddening sky.
This wasn’t dawn.
This was dusk.
To his horror, Tanjirou realized that he had slept for the whole night and day. Because his body being deprived of sleep, he slept way longer than normal! And what’s more…Giyuu had stayed with him in bed this entire time!
Tanjirou dropped down, crouching in the corner as he covered his reddened face in his hands, heart feeling so full that he felt like it was going to burst.
Once there was the first time, there will be a second time…then the third…
Since that day, sleeping with Giyuu became easier and easier for Tanjirou.
His heart will always beat like crazy, but at the very least the awkwardness was gone.
He even began talking to Giyuu as they lay in the futon together.
Most of the things he talked about were what he used to do before his family's death. He told the Omega about his father as well. Giyuu never speaks. He just patiently listened as those blue eyes trained on the young Alpha in quiet encouragement for him to talk.
Tanjirou didn’t know when, but he eventually found himself looking forward to his time with Giyuu more and more.
The Omega has a homey scent that just lures him in and lulls him into sleep without realizing it.
It was nearly a month into this odd relationship that Giyuu finally felt a prick of pain in his chest—along with an irritating itch.
He knew it was time.
His body had recognized that a child is needing his care and his body was producing milk. Giyuu stared at his chest that didn’t look all that different aside from the slight swells. His brows were furrowed as he gently pressed down on his breasts, and frowned at the bloated feeling underneath.
He looked down the book from Kanroji, trying to follow the instruction written on there. He pinched a nipple, trying to see if anything could come out, but there wasn’t. It was most likely not ready yet.
That night, Giyuu went to bed with Tanjiru as usual after soaking his glands up in the boy’s scent.
It was in the middle of the night that Giyuu shot awake to the pain in his chest. It wasn’t any intense pain since as an Omega he got high pain tolerance, but it was still uncomfortable. His chest felt so full that could barely get any air to his lungs.
He sat up, completely forgetting about the boy sleeping in his arms as Tanjirou rolled off Giyuu and fell face-first into the futon. The raven-haired man didn't pay the boy any attention as he looked around the dimly lit room. From the lighting, the sun was still hours away from arriving.
“Tomioka-san?” Tanjirou’s sleepy voice called out as Giyuu looked down at the young Alpha. “Tomioka-san, are you alright?” Tanjirou was instantly awake when he noticed a bead of sweat rolling down his teacher’s face.
Giyuu was clutching a hand to the front of his kimono as he took in a small breath to steady himself.
"I think it's ready." He muttered, brows furrowed.
“What is?” Tanjirou asked, clearly having forgotten the whole reason he was spending the night with the Omega.
With a small sigh, Giyuu sat up, taking Tanjiou by the arm and pulled him onto his lap. Then after some thought, he pulled the blanket over them both. The book had said that the (baby) child would be calmer when enveloped in the adult’s scent.
Unfortunately, this only made Tanjirou even more nervous as he sat like a statue on Giyuu’s lap, not even daring to move an inch.
“T-T-Tomioka-san?”
Tanjirou watched with wide eyes as Giyuu reached up a pale hand and gently taking hold of his white kimono. His red eyes were rounded like saucers as the white fabric was peeled to the side, revealing the smooth surface of Giyuu’s chest. His nipple was hard, poking out with an obvious swell under it. Tanjirou’s mouth watered at the sight. He didn’t know why, but he felt a strange, primal hunger coming from deep within his soul.
Without even thinking, he leaned forward and wrapped his lips around that perky nipple.
Giyuu jolted a little the moment he felt soft lips wrapped around his nipples, followed by a wet tongue sweeping over the sensitive tip. His lips were pressed into a thin lip as he looked towards the side of the room—eyes focused on a vase placed there by the Kakushis.
His body tensed up when he felt the mouth on him began to suck. The raven-haired man frowned. He could feel some sort of blockage inside when his nipple was sucked, preventing the milk from spilling. He felt the mouth on him sucking even harder as tongue rolled the sensitive nipple around. Giyuu closed his eyes, taking in a deep breath as he tried to smooth out the tension in his body.
He had read this part in the book. After a couple more times, milk should start flowing naturally.
Just as Giyuu was about to tell Tanjirou this, a deep growl emitted from the boy’s throat. The Omega could even feel the intensity of the growl through the boy’s mouth latched on his nipple
The Water Hashira looked down and was met with a pair of dilated pupils.
“This is…!” Giyuu bit down on the bottom of his lips when the boy began sucking his breast hard.
This was the Alpha within Tanjirou—the Alpha that had been asleep for so long.
Giyuu reached out his hands, deciding that the best course of action right now was to comfort the boy. Tanjirou was clearly being overtaken by the Alpha in his blood. Words won't reach him in this kind of state, so he needed to show the boy that he was in a safe environment.
When the Omega’s hands got too close, Tanjirou jolted back with a threatening snarl. Giyuu ignored the Alpha’s warnings and just wrapped his arms around the boy. Tanjirou stiffened but didn't attack as Giyuu pulled the boy against him. He rubbed the Alpha’s soft hair and bared his neck to the boy, showing him how he wasn’t an enemy.
The growling eventually stopped before Giyuu’s nipple was trapped in that overheating mouth again. He held onto Tanjirou tightly as the boy began sucking on his nipple again. After a couple of harsh attempts, the blockage inside the Omega's breast was finally gone. Warm, rich milk was practically gushing from his nipple and into the Alpha’s eager mouth.
Giyuu shivered lightly. Being drank from was…an extremely weird feeling. He could feel the way the milk inside him was being sucked out. Thankfully, he was quick to get used to it and waited for the boy to finish.
When Tanjirou’s sucking turned back into teeth scraping against his nipple, Giyuu knew that his milk had run out. Tonight was the first time, after all. He wouldn't produce as much milk as he should.
The Omega grabbed the back of the Alpha’s collar, about to pull the boy off when Tanjirou suddenly grabbed both of his shoulders and shoved him down into the futon. Giyuu allowed him, observing calmly as the boy grabbed a fistful of his kimono and pulled the other side off, exposing the other pale breast which he instantly latched onto.
The Hashira let out another small shuddered as the process repeated. Ocean blue eyes stared at the child lying on top of him. Unknown to Giyuu, his gaze became impossibly gentle as he slowly threaded his hand through the boy's soft hair and massaged his scalp.
The more the boy drank from him, the weaker Giyuu was becoming. It was as if it wasn’t milk the boy was sucking out, but his own energy. Eventually, Giyuu became too tired. His hand fell from the Alpha’s hair as he closed his eyes, waiting for the child to finish.
When he felt those painful bites and tugs on his nipple, he knew it was done.
Despite the boy’s hisses and growls, Giyuu’s grip was forceful as he pulled the boy off his chest. As weak as he may be at the moment, dealing with a feral child wasn’t hard for him as he fixed his kimono with his other hand. After that, he cradled Tanjirou within his arms and pushed the boy’s face into his neck, letting the Alpha smell his scent.
Just like how his body recognized Tanjirou as a child in his care, Tanjirou’s body that had been lathered with his scent over the past weeks has recognized him as his caretaker. It didn't take long for Tanjirou to calm down and his eyes slowly reverted to normal.
With the Alpha suddenly awakening like that, the body had taken a very heavy toll. Even though Tanjirou’s reasoning returned, he could barely keep his eyes open as he fell limply against Giyuu.
The redhead let out a long, comfortable sigh. He rubbed his face into Giyuu’s scent gland before taking a deep breath.
“Tomioka-san smells nice…" Those were his last words before dozing off.
Giyuu checked the boy in his arms. Certain that he had fallen back to sleep, he laid the boy down onto his futon and pulled the blanket over his small body.
The Water Hashira sat there for a bit longer before he changed into his usual kimono and tied his hair back into a low ponytail.
He headed out as if nothing had happened to begin yet another day.
◌ ◌ ◌ ◌ ◌ ◌ ◌ ◌ ◌ ◌ ◌ ◌ ◌ ◌ ◌ ◌ ◌ ◌
When Tanjirou had woken, the first thing he wanted to do was to crawl in a hole and died.
His face was bright red as he was curled under the thick quilt as if this would hide him from the world. His heart was pounding so bad as memories of what he did last night played in his mind over and over.
He couldn’t believe he had done that to Giyuu!
What he had done was practically assault!
He had no idea what came over him. He just…felt something inside him snapped, and then he lost all reasonings.
Tanjirou had no idea how he was going to face Giyuu from now on. He also didn’t know what to do with his sense of smell heightening. It was as if he had never known what the world had smelled like before and just woke up with the ability to do so. It was ironic, considering how his nose has always been his strongest suit.
The heavenly scent wrapped around him in the cover smelled so good that Tanjirou didn’t even want to move. He was completely enveloped within Giyuu’s scent. And within the Water Hashira’s usual scent, there was something else mixed in there.
It was something sweet and rich—similar to the taste of the milk that still lingered on his tongue.
At the thought of milk, Tanjirou’s face burned as he buried himself further into Giyuu’s futon. Unfortunately for him, once the memory began, it just couldn’t be stopped. Tanjirou didn't even know why he could remember everything so clearly when it had been so dark.
He could remember the way that dusky nipple with a tint of pink at the tip felt in his mouth.
He could remember how the skin around his lip felt…how soft and supple they were…
He could remember the way those blue eyes so calmly and gently watched him.
However, there was also something else he remembered. He saw it last night after pulling off Giyuu’s kimono. There was a scar on Giyuu’s left scent gland. It was a ragged scar with the skin there paler than the rest of Giyuu’s body. It wasn’t a large scar nor was it ugly by any means, but something just bothered Tanjirou about it that he couldn’t help but think…
“Tanjirou?”
“WAH!” Tanjirou screamed as he jumped up, blanket falling off his body as he spun around to find Giyuu sitting right beside the futon. “Tomioka-san!”
Before Tanjirou could think about how long Giyuu had been here, the older man brought his hand up to touch his forehead, making him freeze on the spot.
"You're a bit warm, but it doesn't seem like you have a feature," Giyuu noted as he retracted his hand. “How are you feeling?”
“E-eh? Ah, g-good I think?”
“After you drink enough, the limit your body has placed on itself should gradually disappear and you will start to notice changes to your body as well as your senses. If you feel any discomfort, let me know immediately.”
“Yes, I will.” Tanjirou nodded before a soft growl came from his stomach. “Sorry!” He apologized, blushing as he held his arms over his stomach as if that would muffle down the noise.
Giyuu looked at Tanjirou’s stomach for a moment before he sat down on the futon right next to Tanjirou. Before the boy could react, he was once again pulled onto the Omega’s lap. As much as Tanjirou wanted to lean away, thick blanket was soon wrapped around him, pulling his body right up against the Omega's.
“T-Tomioka-san, I could uh, go to the kitchen and—”
“There’s no need for that.” Giyuu calmly cut the frantic boy off. “This will be your food from now on.”
“…EH?!”
“Eating other food will only waste your stomach’s capacity. We need to get your body adjusted as soon as possible, and Omegan milk is your only choice.”
“Y-you don’t mean that I…that I’ll be drinking…f-from you for…?”
Giyuu stared at the jumble of mess the body had become in his arms. He slowly thought over the bits and pieces of words he was able to pick up, vaguely guessing what the boy meant.
“Four times a day should be minimal.” The Water Hashira stated. "Although whenever you feel that you can drink, come to me."
"That's not what I mean!" Tanjirou felt like he was losing his mind. However, there was also an undeniable joy inside him for the opportunity to be close to the older man.
Giyuu wasn't going to keep denying a young Alpha from getting the nutrient he needs, so he pulled down his kimono, revealing those perky nipples and snow-white breasts that were swelled up once more.
Tanjirou was blushing hard but was unable to take his eyes off as his stomach growled again.
The boy had to use all of his courage just to look to Giyuu’s chest while the Hashira himself was looking down at his Tsuguko, waiting patiently.
This time, Tanjirou didn’t lose himself to his instinct. He swallowed the saliva in his mouth before he leaned forward and gently wrapped his lips around the right nipple. With just a small, hesitant suck, creamy sweet milk flooded into his mouth.
Tanjirou drank the milk slowly, careful not to spill or hurt Giyuu. He had expected the milk to run out soon considering how there wasn’t too much last night, but it didn’t. To the boy’s surprise, it kept flowing into his mouth, drowning his senses with that sweet aroma. Despite Giyuu’s chest being the same size, there was way more milk in him than he thought possible.
Giyuu’s breathes had already become shallow as the familiar weakness returned to his body. The tip of his toes and fingers were starting to tingle with numbness, but he acted like nothing was wrong and just continued to hold the boy to him. This time, Tanjirou drank much more than last night, but Giyuu knew this still wasn’t enough.
The boy needed way more than this. His appetite will only grow.
To keep up with the milk production, Giyuu was starting to eat enough food for two people and stopped all of his daily training for his body to have the energy to produce milk. To improve the quality of his milk, Giyuu had been drinking the medicines Kochou had sent him every single day.
They don’t have enough time. Within the next four years, Tanjirou had to make up for all the time he lost growing up within the human society.
As time passed, Tanjirou was beginning to become aware of his body’s changes.
His sense heightened—especially his smell—and his body’s overall physical strength increased. Drinking from Giyuu nearly five times a day, Tanjirou’s body was rapidly recovering.
That’s when the hellish training began.
There was no mercy in Giyuu’s training, but Tanjirou knew it was because the Omega was doing this for him. He only has four years to master the techniques Giyuu is teaching him which will aid him in surviving the growth spurt. Sometimes, the training was so bad that even Murata and the Kakushis avoided coming to the training field.
Every single day, Tanjirou would be pushed to the limit. His lungs felt like bursting all the time and even bones would be broken from the force of Giyuu’s wooden sword. Despite all that, Tanjirou took it without complaints and continue to undergo the Hashira’s harsh training.
"We'll stop here for today," Giyuu said, not even the slightest bit out of breath as he turned to his battered Tsuguko.
“Yes!”
“Continue practicing your breathing technique.”
“Yes!”
With that, Giyuu turned and walked away.
It was only after Giyuu left that Tanjirou allowed himself to collapse onto the ground. He stared at the orange sky as he sucked in the air around him. After resting up for an hour, Tanjirou went to the bath to get himself washed up.
Dressed in a clean kimono, he walked out just in time to see Murata passing by with large trays of food stacked over one another.
“Murata-san, are those for Tomioka-san?” Tanjirou asked as he hurried over to the Omega. After all, only Giyuu would eat such a large quantity of food. When Tanjirou first saw Giyuu eating so much, he was truly shocked. However, after learning later that Giyuu was only eating this much because his body needed them to produce milk, Tanjirou just felt warmed at the length Giyuu was willing to go for him.
“Tanjirou! Good timing!” Murata said as he struggled to look at Tanjirou with the trays blocking his sight. “Can you bring these to Tomioka-san?”
“Of course!” Tanjirou answered cheerfully. Despite just having met, Tanjirou already wanted to see Giyuu again.
It was a very strange feeling Tanjirou always had towards Giyuu. He didn’t know when it even started…
He wanted to see Giyuu at all times.
He wanted to stay by his side.
He wanted to be always bathed in the Omega’s scent.
Tanjirou knew this feeling, whatever it was, wasn’t normal. Never in his life had he wanted to be so close to anyone, not even his family. He had this urge inside him to spend every waking moment next to the man, but he knew that wasn’t possible.
Shaking the negative thoughts from his head, Tanjirou hurried towards Giyuu’s room. As he went, Tanjirou couldn’t help but turned his head away at the bitter smell of herbs flowing from the top tray.
While he couldn’t see if due to the tray stacking up so tall, but Tanjirou knew it was the same medicine Giyuu drank regularly. He was always curious why Giyuu had to drink them but never once asked since it wasn’t his place to.
When Tanjirou arrived at the door of Giyuu’s room, he set the tray of food down and gave the door a couple of light knocks.
When he heard the response from inside the room, Tanjirou slid open the door. He looked in and found Giyuu sitting on the tatami, reading over some documents.
“Tomioka-san, I’ve brought your food.” The boy grabbed the trays and stepped inside.
Giyuu set aside the papers, making space for Tanjirou to lay out the food in front of him. The first two trays were cramped with a variety of dishes that was too much even for three people finish. The third, however, contained a bowl of black medicine and a smaller bowl containing white substances.
Tanjirou watched as Giyuu picked up the medicine first. He held the bowl up to his lips, eyes fluttering close as he began drinking it down. Tanjirou watched as Giyuu’s head tilted back, his pale neck stretching out as his Adam’s apple bobbed as he swallowed.
There wasn’t the slightest hesitation in his movements, but Tanjirou could smell displeasure rolling off Giyuu himself. When Giyuu finished, he set the empty bowl back onto the tray. He picked up the bowl of rice in his left hand while his other took the chopsticks.
He may or may not have eaten the rice a little too fast—Tanjirou noticed.
The boy almost wanted to smile at his mentor’s reaction. However, at the thought of what Giyuu had drank was medicine, he couldn’t help but worry.
“T-Tomioka-san, are you… are you hurt?” He asked hesitantly.
"No," Giyuu replied as he used his chopstick to pick out a slice of salmon and put it into his mouth. He chewed slowly, making sure to break down the food before he swallowed. "These medicines help my body to better absorb the nutrient. It's to improve the quality of the milk."
The moment Tanjirou heard milk, his face exploded into various shades of red. Despite how long it had been, he still couldn’t get used to the whole thing of drinking from the Omega’s chest. Now that Tanjirou learned one more thing to add to his list of what Giyuu had done for him, he felt even guiltier.
Despite Giyuu not liking the medicine, he still drank it for his shake…
“…Tanjirou.”
Tanjirou blinked at the call of his name. He opened his mouth, about to ask what Giyuu needed when a spoon was shoved into his mouth. Tanjirou felt his entire body shuddering with Goosebumps breaking out at the weird, spicy taste in his mouth.
He almost wanted to spit out the slimy thing sitting on his tongue but held himself back when he saw Giyuu staring down at him.
“Is it bad?” Giyuu’s brows were furrowed at the intense reaction on the boy’s face.
Tanjirou tried a couple of times before finally swallowing the thing. He panted heavily as his eyes shifted to the bowl of white goo in Giyuu’s hand.
“W-what is that?”
"Royal jelly," Giyuu replied, scooping a spoon full—the spoon that previously went into Tanjirou’s mouth—and casually put it into his own mouth. Tanjirou felt his face flare, but the terrible aftertaste in his mouth snapped him back out.
"It's rich in nutrients so I thought you could try it," Giyuu explained with his brows furrowed, seeming to realize how wrong he was. He looked at Tanjirou, then to the food laid before him, and gently set down the bowl and spoon onto the tray.
“Come here, Tanjirou.” Giyuu sat back as his legs stretched across the tatami, causing his kimono to open up from the movement, revealing those long and pale legs. Tanjirou swallowed nervously. He knew what his pose meant. With cheeks burning hotly, he nudged himself closer to Giyuu until he stiffly sat down on his lap. Then Giyuu pulled down his kimono to reveal his chest, causing Tanjirou’s blood rushed quicker despite having seen them so many times.
Even though Giyuu was producing so much more milk now, his chest was still the same, looking no different except the small swell underneath. Tanjirou wasn’t as ignorant as before now. He had seen the book Giyuu had been constantly reading and when he asked to look at it as well, Giyuu just handed it to him.
It was a guide for Omega pregnancy. Never had Tanjirou felt as awkward as that moment. However, since Giyuu already gave him the book, he made sure to read through the whole thing. It had been the right decision, as now Tanjirou knew more about how the Omega anatomy worked.
While female Omega develops milk the same way as a human would during pregnancy, male Omegas were slightly different. Due to the limited space in their chest, their breasts weren't capable of storing milk. It was only when a young begin to feed on them that their body reacts by rapidly producing milk to meet the child's need.
This efficiency, however, came with a cost. Omega milk itself was produced with the Omega's energy mixed within. To continuously produce milk would only add burden to their bodies. Every time Tanjirou drank from Giyuu, Giyuu was losing his strength—which would explain the amount of food he needed to eat and how much he slept nowadays.
Tanjirou looked up at Giyuu only briefly before his eyes fluttered close and lean in to take the hard nipple into his mouth. He sucked the breast tenderly, the sweetness of the milk erasing the awful taste of the royal jelly.
Giyuu cradled him carefully within his arms, lips pressed into a line as usual as he waited for the young Alpha to have his fill.
Their days continued like this for days…months…
Two years passed in almost a blink of an eye.
Tanjirou had become strong.
He had mastered all the Water Breathing techniques—even the Eleventh form that only Giyuu could use. He has also long since mastered Total Breathe Concentration. While he still wasn’t as strong as Giyuu, Tanjirou was undoubtedly progressing extremely fast. There was already no worry as to whether or not he would make it through the growth.
The Kakushis threw a celebration party for him when the Insect Hashira had personally come over to access Tanjirou’s health and confirmed that he will be fine. The speed of his recovery was unheard of in the histories of Alpha and Omega. That had a large part to do with the milk Giyuu provided him and Tanjirou’s strong Alpha bloodline.
Everyone was happy for Tanjirou. They were all relieved knowing he was fine now…but Tanjirou wasn’t fine.
He wasn’t fine at all.
It was a year ago that Tanjirou finally realized just what his attraction to his mentor was. However, he also knew better than anyone that Giyuu never saw him the same way. From the very beginning, Giyuu—like any other adult in the Water Estate—saw him as a child. The parenting books Giyuu had on his shelf were more than enough proof of that.
Before twenty, all Alphas and Omegas were considered children. To those who had fully grown into adulthood, there was no difference between seven years old and seventeen years old. With their scent premature and smelling like kids that needed to be protected, it was impossible for the adults to ever feel anything for them.
Tanjirou’s own body was the same.
Although he knew about his feelings, his body was contradicting him. His body was unable to express his desire for Giyuu because it was the body of a child.
Now, every moment he spent with Giyuu felt like a sin.
Giyuu sees him as a child, so naturally, he wouldn't be cautious around him. He even changed in front of him one time, thinking nothing of it because he was simply a kid. Tanjirou was certain that if Giyuu had seen him as an Alpha, then he wouldn’t be so careless. The line between them would be clearer…it should be clearer.
Even now, after getting the result, Giyuu still wanted Tanjirou to drink from him for three more months as a precaution. Tanjirou didn’t want to. Despite how divine the milk tasted on his tongue, he couldn’t do it without feeling as though he was taking advantage of Giyuu.
It just felt wrong.
Everything felt wrong.
That was why Tanjirou decided that he had to get away from this place he had learned to call home—away from Giyuu.
If he continued to stay, Giyuu won’t ever see him as an Alpha. He’ll always see him as the child he had raised and protected, and Tanjirou didn't want that. He needed to go somewhere out of Giyuu’s supervision and become stronger than Giyuu. Only then he can come back and get Giyuu to look at him not as a boy, but as a man.
Tanjirou knew he was being selfish. Giyuu and the rest of the Water Estate had done so much for him over the years, but he couldn’t figure out another solution. He just couldn’t be close to Giyuu anymore.
It felt wrong to touch him.
It felt wrong to sleep by his side with the intentions that he has.
Everything was wrong. It made him feel despicable about himself like he was lying and taking advantage of Giyuu’s kindness.
Late in the night after the party was over, Tanjirou arrived in Giyuu’s room.
Giyuu was already sitting on his futon, undoing the hair tie around his ink-black hair and ran his slender fingers through the silky lock. Bathed in the blue moonlight, Giyuu was gorgeous.
“Close the door, Tanjirou.” Giyuu frowned ever so slightly when Tanjirou never moved from where he sat outside in the hallway with the door wide open.
“Tomioka-san.” Tanjirou placed his hand in front of him and bowed down until his forehead touched the wooden floor. “Tomioka-san, thank you for taking care of me for so many years. I’m grateful for everything Tomioka-san had done for me and Nezuko! I wish that Tomioka-san could grant a selfish request of mine.”
Giyuu frowned at the sight of his Tsuguko prostrating himself like this.
“What is it?” He asked.
“Please allow me to leave the Water Estate.”
Giyuu froze.
His blue eyes were blown wide as he stared at the red-haired boy.
“Come inside.”
Tanjirou obeyed. He entered the Hashira’s room and closed the door. He sat down in front of Giyuu, back straight and eyes determine. Even when meeting his mentor’s piercing gaze, Tanjirou didn’t back down...
“…Why?” Giyuu asked after a long time. His hands that were hidden within his sleeves were trembling lightly.
“Because I’m in love with Tomioka-san.”
“…?!”
That…was not what Giyuu had expected to hear.
"What did you say?" The Omega questioned, needing to confirm that he had heard right.
“I love you, Tomioka-san!” Tanjirou suddenly repeated loudly. As if fearing Giyuu would misunderstand what he meant, he continued. "I love you as an Alpha to an Omega!"
“Tanjirou—”
"Please don't tell me that I'm misunderstanding my feelings for you because I'm a kid," Tanjirou said firmly. This was the first time Tanjirou had ever cut Giyuu off, and the Hashira was genuinely surprised. “I know my feelings better than anyone. I love you, Tomioka-san.”
Giyuu wanted to tell him so many things…such as how that was simply impossible.
Tanjirou was a child. With his premature body, he wasn’t even capable of having any sexual desire. He shouldn’t know anything about love or develop that kind of feelings until he turned into an adult.
The raven-haired man sighed, feeling a headache coming already. How was he supposed to explain to Tanjirou that his feelings might just be a child’s towards his guardian? Should he call in Murata or one of the Kakushis and get them to explain?
“I know Tomioka-san won't believe me right now," Tanjirou said, his voice dropping a little as he gazed at Giyuu sadly. “That’s why…please let me leave, Tomioka-san.”
Giyuu stared at Tanjirou for a long, long time before he finally let out the words.
“Very well.”
He turned his head away, no longer wanting to look at the child. He was afraid that if he does, then something inside him will break.
Perhaps it was for the best. If Tanjirou leaves, his world will only become bigger. He would have the opportunity to meet other Omegas that were his age and realized that his feelings were wrong.
“I will have someone pack your things tomorrow. You can leave now.”
Tanjirou looked complicated by his mentor’s dismissal, but he bowed again and left quietly.
That night, Giyuu couldn’t sleep. He sat in his room, watching from the gap in the doorway as the sky slowly lights up. It was only when the first light of dawn spilled through the horizon did he move.
He pulled out some papers, a brush, and a small but heavy inkstone. He set these items onto his table and poured a bit of water into the stone. He gently picked up the ink stick and began grinding the stone until the water turned pitch black. Taking his brush, he dipped the tip into the ink, giving a brief thought over what he wanted to write before his brush touched the white paper.
That night, a total of ten crows flew out of the Water Estate—each of them carrying a letter on their talon.
When morning came, Giyuu stood at the main entrance of the Water Estate with all the Kakushis and Murata gathered behind him. When they were being told that Tanjirou was leaving, they were all dumbfounded. After all, they had just thrown a party to celebrate the boy’s health…why was Tanjirou all of the sudden leaving?
They all wanted to know, but no one dared to ask. They all lined up quietly behind their Hashira as Tanjirou appeared before them with baggage tied around his back and Nezuko by his side. Even though the girl was welcomed to stay in the Water Estate, she insisted on following her brother.
Giyuu had agreed, and have someone packed her things as well. However, both siblings denied most of the things they were given. All they took was a spare cloth, food and some money for their journey. The rest of the things they placed back into their rooms, showing that they have full intention of one day returning.
It was such little thing that comforted Giyuu.
“We’ll be going then, Tomioka—” Tanjirou paused a little before he smiled brightly at Giyuu. “Giyuu-san.”
Giyuu didn’t react at the other calling him by his first name. He raised an arm as one of the crows perching on the roof flew down and landed on his forearm.
"Take him with you on your journey," Giyuu said and with a wave of his hand, the crow fluttered its wings and landed on Tanjirou’s shoulder. “He will take you to the headquarter of the Corps. You should go pay your respect to Oyakata-sama.”
“Leave it to me, caw!” The crow spoke in its raspy voice.
“I’ve also sent letters to the other Hashiras to look out for you should you arrive at their place. They each have their methods of training and use different breathing techniques. It will benefit you to train under them."
"Thank you for everything, Giyuu-san." Tanjirou said gratefully. Then, as if finally deciding something, the boy’s gaze firmed up. He reached out his hands, boldly grabbing the Hashira’s larger ones and grasped them tightly within his own.
“I will definitely come back after I turn twenty! By then, I hope that Giyuu-san will consider my feelings seriously!” With that, he leaned forward and pressed his lips against Giyuu’s right cheek.
The sounds of jaws hitting the ground could be heard from the Kakushis and Murata. They stared in a mixture of shock, horror, and disbelieve at the young Alpha kissing their Hashira.
Giyuu was stunned by the boy’s action as well, hence why he just stood there not doing anything.
When Tanjirou pulled back, he was grinning from ear to ear. He took a small step back before the hands around Giyuu slipped away.
The Water Hashira watched as the boy ran over to his sister who bowed at them with a knowing grin. He almost wanted to reach out, to call out to the two children but stopped himself as Tanjirou’s words resonated within his head.
“Goodbye, Giyuu-san, Murata-san! Everyone! We’ll be back!”
And just like that, the Kamado siblings ran off with the crow flying over their heads.
Giyuu watched them go with a strange emptiness inside him. When he turned around, the Hashira was met with dozens of stares burning holes into him.
“What is it?”
He just wanted to ask if they needed anything, but when he spoke with his usual expressionless face and tone—and considering what had occurred—the Kakushis instantly shook their heads. Spluttering strings of nonsense that Giyuu couldn’t make out, the Betas all but fled as they returned to their daily tasks.
When Giyuu turned his gaze to Murata, the latter jumped as if he received some sort of shock and bowed a whole ninety-degree at him before fleeing with a loud, "I-I JUST REMEMBER I LEFT THE STOVE ON!"
Giyuu stared at the entrance that had emptied in just seconds. He gave one last glance back before he headed back into the manor that will from now on become a little quieter.
No…not quieter.
It will just be back to how it was, that’s all.

Day 11 : Thursday 26th of March.
Hello everybody! What a beautiful day, isn't it? MY ASS! I'm going to die from awkwardness before the end of this containement. I had the most embarassing and humiliating awakening ever.
Tumblr media
As I told you yesterday, Bucky and I slept together again. You're probably asking yourself what happened for me to be that much tense right? Well, how can I say that? I woke up early in the morning but not because of what you think! Alright, because you're certainly smart, you probably think that I woke up because of others nightmares and that I cried and that Bucky took me in his arms because his a fucking sweet cinnamon roll who smells like old books, metal, lemon, honey and sexappeal. This may surprise you but this is not what happened AT ALL. To be honest I had one of the greatest dreams that I ever had since a long moment. Ok, so, here's my dream: There was this beautiful king size bed in a circle shape with red silk sheets on it, in the middle of my bedroom. And I remember there was candles everywhere( gold and red, smelling like roses and cinnamon I think... Who fucking cares about that right?) Alright, get ready for it, because it's becoming really stupidly cliché. Bucky was in the middle of the bed with a golden underwear and he was doing like push-ups (??? What the fuck, brain?)... So I was just standing there looking at him and he finally saw me. He lay down and looked at me with a smirk and a small sigh before he told me: "Hey, Tiny! I didn't see you there! Wanna give me a hand on that? " (God it sounds like a bad porno! Maybe it was just a bad porno because I never actually experienced nothing like that... Not that I'm virgin, I mean... NEVERMIND.) So, in a second I just appeared under him and we started to... You perfectly know what we started to do! Anyway, after few minutes (I think) He just said something like "Winter is coming." What the fuck? Am I in a fucking Yaoi or something?!
This is when I woke up. So I was not crying, not even screaming or panicking. The thing is... I was sweating and had a fucking erection. I was so fucking embarassed but the worst was still when I turned to watch Bucky and he was looking at me worriedly. "You're ok? You're all red and you were doing weird noises. Did you had another nightmare?" He asked. I don't know if I felt more humiliated in my life than at this moment. I think I just blushed even more after what he said. I was so panicked and awkward about the situation that I just nodded. I nodded. Am I dumb or what? I could have said no, made him think that I had fever and that he should go away for a moment but he would have panicked and it's actually pretty much mean to do that in this period. "Ok, it's fine. You wanna talk about it?" He asked by coming closer. He tried to take me in his arms and I step back quickly. "I'm fine, sorry. It's just I'm sweating and stuff... I just need to take a shower. Too hot." I stuttered when I looked at his puppy eyes. I'm pretty sure he thought I've been scared of him at this moment. He just said Ok and stood up: "I'm going to see if Jarvis needs help for the breakfast, ok?" He said before he goes. So? I told you so, the worst awakening ever. 😰😰
The day didn’t get that much better after thanks Loki... I mean, fuck.
Alright after the awkward breakfast (and the cold shower of course) I returned in Howard's lab. We worked on the arm together and that was truly amazing to learn things from the greatest genius of this era. After two hours, he decided to go read a book next to the swimming pool and enjoy the sun. So he leave me alone in the lab.
After lunch, I just remembered that I wanted to do research about the Winter Soldier that I was hearing about in my dreams. I get to the lab. Fuck, I still can't believe it... I don't know if I can really tell you about what I discovered... But I really need to talk about it to someone. Ok, so, I get to the lab, I locked the door just in case you know? And I finally turned on the computer. I started to do my research about the Winter Soldier and as I thought not a single file, not a note, no trace at all. Oh, really Howard, you still think you can hide things from me? Alright then, I knew it would not be easy but I also knew that I know how to hack a computer and find the most embarrassing informations about someone. So, I would have my answers. I successfully found what I was looking for, it was crypted files with a security that I've never seen before. Howard was protecting that with all he had. But why that, right? At this point I thought about giving up, you know? Maybe I should have...
Tumblr media
But if my dad was hiding it with so much skills it must be truly important, right? I needeed to know. I needeed it. I opened the files successfully after an hour and a half. And it was terrifying. The Winter Soldier project was actually one of Leviathan's Projects. If some of you don't know Leviathan, it's the Russian division of Hydra. Some of the worst psychopaths on Earth are actually working with those guys. The W.S.P. (Winter Soldier Project) started in 1945. Hydra, I mean Leviathan, captured a  dozen of kids and bring them to Siberia. In a fucking bunker... Shit, I have chills just by writing all of that.  Those kids...
Ok, basically, Leviathan took them, injected them a serum (something similar to my father but less powerfull if I trust the composition.) and for those who survived it... Alright, basically the point was to do an army of overtrained assassins. They did a lot of crazy tests on the children, I read somewhere that one of the kids ... Shit, now that I think it's probably Bucky. Ok, I read somewhere that they cut one of the kid's arm. He was the oldest, 4 or 5 years old. They cut his arm to see if it was growing up again because of the serum. (What kind of man can do that...?) When they understood that it would not happen they put him a metal arm.
Tumblr media
Leviathan trained them, brainwashed them when they didn't wanted to train or accept the treatments and they send them to missions. The metal arm kid has been named the Winter Soldier. He was the first soldier who had a mission. The first success. Oh, and for the story to be even more creepy and terryfiyng... When they were not using the kids they were frozen. Frozen, litterally, in a fucking box. My father Steve successfully dismanteled the organization when the Winter Soldier was 13 apparently. I don't know what happened to the kids after that. But the more I think about it, the more I accept the idea of Bucky being The Kid... Everything makes sense now, right? The Metal arm, the russian accent, the skills against Steve... This incredibly tall and strong body.
After my discovery, I quickly closed everything and turned off the computer. I got another annxiety attack, so violent that I thought I would loose conscience for a moment. I get out of the lab and I tried to find Howard in the library. He helped me calm down and asked me what happened. I couldn't tell him the Truth. I was terrified and shocked. I don't know how to stop thinking about it now. All the files keep haunting my head and I just have the image of those poor kids... Of Bucky... I'm in my room right now, I locked my door, I don't really know why. I just don't feel that much safe anymore. Everything seems a bit crazy around. I don't know. I think I need to sleep. I don't know if I will succeed but I really need to try. I just have the feeling that my chest is burning, I hope the Reactor his working well...
Take care of you and your family. Stay safe, stay home.

Part 10: Rage Against the Patriarchy
Let’s face it: the Kingdom Hearts series has always had something of a woman problem.
A number of strong Disney heroines like Jasmine and Megara were wimpified, Aqua in BBS was a powerful fighter but a weak character without the kind of arc her male friends got, and I already covered the issues that plagued Namine and Xion.  And by Kingdom Hearts III, things had only gotten worse, as more Disney heroines all the way up to fucking Elsa weren't given their due, Aqua was finally given an arc only to have it rendered meaningless all while her powerful fighter status got compromised repeatedly, and even Organization XIII's resident badass bitch Larxene was revealed to be motivated by feelings for a man.
But when talking about how the series failed its female characters, there's one female character that stands in a class of her own, and that's the original female lead of the KH Trinity herself: Kairi.
Kairi was the emotional heart of the KH Trinity. She is introduced very early into the original game and through several interactions we get to know her and how behind her bubbly front she has deep anxiety over her life changing and the possibility of losing her home and friends, an anxiety stemming from a traumatic past that she might remember a little more of than she lets on.
After she disappears during Destiny Islands' destruction, she occasionally appears to Sora to provide insights or advice. That's because her heart took refuge inside of his, and she is consciously sharing his journey with him. Riku and many stupid, sexist players identify her body as her, claiming that she's "in a coma" for most of the game and needs to be woken up. But the point of the story that Keiko Nobumoto finalized is to challenge you to look past this kind of objectification and consider the spiritual reality that Sora learns: hearts are who people are in the KH universe. Sora doesn't need to save Kairi because he already did from the start, just by being such a close friend to her and connecting his heart to her's.
And after the "Kairi's inside me" (heh) revelation is made, Kairi actually saves Sora three times in a row! She stops him from getting his head smashed in by Ansem, she refuses to believe he's gone after he disappears which allows him to hold on to his feelings as a Heartless, and then she shields him from the attacking Heartless with her own body, an act which allows him to regain his human form. That's no mere damsel in distress!
Really, the only quibble I have with Kairi in the first game is that she isn't allowed to go back to Hollow Bastion for no good reason during the big Oathkeeper scene. That was stupid and awkward, that scene really should have taken place at Hollow Bastion before going to End of the World. But otherwise, Kairi was a fully-realized, three-dimensional character with her own emotional growth. The entire ending FMV even focuses on her and how she's learned to cope with a changing life and separation from her friends thanks to the lessons she's learned about the unbreakable connections of hearts from her journey inside of Sora.
But it was all downhill from there.
Kairi is still good in COM and KH2, but not to the same extent. The idea of Kairi is a powerful one in COM and drives the entire story, but Kairi herself never makes an appearance until the end credits of the 3D remake, and I wouldn't mind so much except that Riku gets his own playable story mode in the game which sets a bad precedent going forward.
In KH2, Kazushige Nojima's writing caused Kairi's personality to be flattened mainly to just 'love interest'; she's like a two-dimensional shadow of Final Fantasy VIII's Rinoa Heartilly. The pacing for her appearances is also sporadic and mainly confined to the last stretch of the game, and she's needlessly kidnapped by the Organization after going to Twilight Town when she could have stayed around longer and developed her character more.  Also, would it have killed them to give her a combat AI? Or explain where her new Keyblade even came from!?
But with that said, she's still a likable character who is spirited and brave, she makes a lot of new friendships like with Pluto, the Twilight Town kids and her own Nobody Namine, she effectively shows her maturity since the first game and even has some small development about learning to stop waiting after a certain point and actually take action to make what you want happen.  Most importantly, she still plays a major role in the story that justifies her existence. Sora still cares deeply for her and is just as motivated to find her as he is to find Riku once he learns she's been kidnapped. And she's the linchpin for the entire finale, as both Sora and Riku's reunion and their return home to Destiny Islands would not have happened without Kairi facilitating them. It really helps establish their friendship trio as just that: a trio, where all three are needed to make it work. Sora and Riku would not have survived the game without her.
Also, she served as the springboard for the manga adaptation's rendition, which fixes all the problems and gives us the definitive version of the character. Gotta appreciate that!
Unfortunately, you might remember that I mentioned Sora and Riku were shipped together by the massively vocal yaoi fangirl community, and they despised Kairi with a passion. This hatred spread to many fanboys too, who called her "useless" for not being an in-game fighter (hey guys, literally all of the playable characters of the KH Trinity wouldn't be around to play as without Kairi! I think that counts as a use!)  And because Nomura is both a sexist pig and a shameless fan panderer, it was clear to him what to do with Kairi.
Nothing.  Absolutely nothing.
She isn't actually in Days, not even in Mission Mode as a playable character despite even fucking Donald and Goofy being so, and Xion's connection to her is a red herring to make her connection to Sora more shocking.  She's only in BBS briefly - one scene as a child and then at the very end of "Blank Points' - and not given the same amount of importance as Sora and Riku. A data version of her does not exist in Coded, even though data versions of Sora and Riku and even Namine do. As I mentioned before, she doesn't show up in 3D until the last shot of the secret ending. And in 0.2 BBS, she doesn't say anything until toward the end, and is promptly shut up and told to go train alongside her former kidnapper! What the fuck!? I honestly think the most justice done to Kairi past KH2 would be the powerful medals with her image on them in the UX mobile phone game!
This is 6 games over the course of a whole decade, and there is barely any Kairi in them at all, let alone as a playable character despite her being the series' original heroine. Worse still is that when Kairi is there, her character has been rewritten by Nomura and Oka into the weak, boring nice girl that her detractors saw her as: the fire and the passionate desire to act freely whenever she had the chance is totally gone. She just lets Sora and Riku leave her behind on the islands again after specifically saying in KH2 that she won't let that happen anymore, and despite being able to wield a Keyblade she only joins the cause when some old white dude summons her to do so! Hayden Panettiere being replaced by Alyson Stoner as her voice only adds to the effect, she just doesn't have the same spunky quality to her.
And when Kairi isn't around? She is pretty much never talked about, or even thought about, by her supposed friends Sora and Riku. Per the sexist cliches of shonen writing and the desire to pander to the fans, the Destiny Trio became a Destiny Duo, with Sora and Riku managing just fine on their own without needing Kairi, their bromance was emphasized as the most important thing in each other's lives ad nauseam. This misogynistic brand of queer-baiting worked all too well, with fans continuing to support Sora and Riku as boyfriends while condemning Kairi as a boring, useless character who oughta just die already.
Well, Nomura sure did continue to listen to these fans...

HIStory’s ranked (no one asked, but here i go)
so i was sittin here, talkin to myself about the HIStory series’ and was like ‘hey, i should rank them’ (which i’ve seen a few other people do, but mines a lot more rambling than there’s because i can’t shut up lol)
so here’s my views lol (ordered from worst to best, imo):
6) My Hero (HIStory1) -
probably universally acknowledged as the worst episode, and i’d be inclined to agree with the masses on this lol... not only is the tone and humour of this series so weird and disjointed, but the entire story line literally makes no sense lol?? it’s unclear who the audience should be rooting for (especially as it goes out of it’s way to paint our protagonist as really unlikable lol, not to mention the love interest is the dullest character ever conceived like ???), as well as this the ending feels completely unrelated and bizarre...
i think this concept /could/ have worked if the guy the woman was inhabiting (which sounds weird without context, but like she’s dead lol) was somehow also inside his head? or if she got to see his memories or whatever & tries to adjust her personality to match the guy’s, causing love interest!dude to fall in love with the guy... (like i could go into more detail, i basically hav an entire au written in my head lol, but yh...)... that way, her letting go of him in the end would feel so much more well set up? especially if she was generally more understanding and likeable..
i think overall this series just fails in telling a decent story lol... & the cringe is even beyond what i can handle lol
5) Obsessed (HIStory1) -
people might be surprised to see this one so low down, especially since i know a lot of people really love this series (& if u do, no hate to u btw, ur allowed to like whatever u want idc), but i realllllly don’t like this series... like at all ...
the plot is weird anyway, which isnt inherently a bad thing, but then u add on the really bad couple and it’s just...... bad lol... like everything about their relationship is built on lies and deceit, and even more so than that it’s built on a lack of mutual respect and fundamental trust for each other! tall guy (i don’t know names soz) feigns memory loss in order to get closer to short guy (btw, the scenes with them being domestic were really sweet, & i firmly believe this could have been an alright series for the actors if the story line wasn’t so bad), short guy’s whole existence in that universe was a lie lol (like i know there’s no easy way to tell someone ‘lol well i’m technically from the future’ but still), then there’s the whole resolution at the end & it’s just so ??? frustrating lol!
nothing bugs me more than seeing conflict in relationships (on screen or irl) that could be solved simply by TALKING TO EACH OTHER GODDAMNIT & isnt lol... my other issue with this series is the fact tall guy 100% forced himself upon short guy in the tent & like we’re just supposed to accept it cos ?? he’s saying no and pushing away but actually he wants it because he loves tall guy ?? like fuck no i’m not accepting that lol!
basically, bad & bizarre story & characters, & gross tropes just makes this hard for me to watch and enjoy lol... i think, like in my hero, this could’ve done with being a different story altogether lol... (maybe tall guy actually did lose his memory & he falls for short guy all on his own with no predatory intentions?? idk something like that)
4) Right or Wrong (HIStory2)
this one & my number 3 are very much tied tbh, but this one is just slightly lower just because i’m not as big into the couple as i know a lot of people are... & it’s not necessarily the age gap, cos i dont actually mind age gaps in pairings (just as long as the younger one isnt a minor, obv... and also i think any gap that’s 30+ years is a bit weird lol..).. i think my big problem with this is i dont really see why younger guy (again, i have no idea of any of these characters’ names lol) would fall for the older guy? like the older guy is obvs going thru some issues, and hasnt been taking care of himself or his kid properly because of them, but like we dont rly see a lot of why he’s a great guy? like we get the sense young guy is attracted to him, but like love is more than just thinkin they’re hot lol... idk lol this might just be me tbh i just couldnt see why he’d be interested lol
i did like the whole family side though, and showing how a man who was previously with a woman can still end up with a guy (bisexualityyyyy (or some variation of that thereupon)) is something you dont always see in media, so i thought that was pretty cool! (even if the ex-wife thing was kinda lame lol...)
i think overall i see what this series was going for, and that it actually did an alright job in some parts... the biggest problem is that it’s kinda just forgettable lol... maybe that’s why people like obsessed so much lol? maybe it was a train wreck but ohh boy at least u wont forget it in a hurry lol!
3) Stay Away From Me (HIStory1) -
i’m a bit torn about this one, cos there are parts of it i actually really like (them going from rivals/enemies to being good friends to being more), and other parts i really didnt (the stereotypical squealing yaoi fangirl friend)... & tbh, i kinda wish this had just been a show about the budding friendship between the 2 guys... it almost feels too forced to me that they’re made to ‘fall in love’ when i actually think them both becoming less selfish and learning to respect each other as step brothers & friends is actually already a really great story (& i know that it doesnt fit with the whole ‘HIStory’ thing, but stories of platonic brotherhood/’bromance’ are just as important as gay representation... isnt a /substitute/ for representation, don’t get me wrong, but it’s always so beautiful to see decently portrayed non-toxic friendships between guys... ok this is a rant for another day tho shhh)
i think maybe why i like this one more than the other HIStory1′s is because kinda nothing happens lol... it’s not overly complex with weird unexplained magic things happening, it’s just a simple story lol... is it still tropey as hell? of course lol! but i think the ‘realism’ of the world really helps, and i def think this was incorporated more into HIStory 2, which i’m really glad about...
overall, this is a relatively harmless series & is actually quite sweet at times... the kiss is awkward as fuck tho (there, i said it lol...)... it suffers the same forgetability as right or wrong tho...
2) Crossing the Line (/Boundary Crossing) (HIStory2) -
ok, so here’s a series i 100% love & totally agree with the hype around lol! i hav no interest in volleyball (or any sports tbh), but the way this show handles the friendships and dynamics between the characters is really well done, especially for a series that’s only 8 episodes long! i also really love that none of the characters really fall into any stereotypes (which is a great improvement from HIStory1 i can tell u lol), and are given the space to actually have some growth & nuance at times?!
(nuance? in MY HIStory series?? it’s more likely than you think!)
the main couple have really amazing chemistry, and the way they get together doesnt feel too out of place or that it’s going to fast, it just sorta flows really nicely... even the side couple are pretty well done (though i wasnt that big into them on my first watch, just cos the whole overbearing older brother thing was kinda annoying... i liked them more as the series went on tho...)
i kinda dont have any major complaints? which is bizarre cos i always hav complaints about things lol... maybe my complaint would be that they all look way too old and attractive to be whatever teenage age they’re supposed to be lol... (but tbh that doesnt take anything away from the story so i’ll forgive them lol...)... i think maybe i wouldnt consider it my favourite because the story line didnt grab me like the number 1... but i really cant fault it in terms of what it delivers lol, legit such a well put together series!
1) Trapped (HIStory3) -
lol i think anyone who’s been following me for the past few months aren’t in the slightest bit surprised this is my number one... i just love it too much lol!
from the incredibly well written and well acted characters, to the interesting and engaging (even if a bit ridiculous) plot, to the beautifully told romance , it really has it all doesn’t it!!! & i think even if this wasnt an enemies to lovers thing (aka one of the most godtier of all fanfic tropes), there’s so many things going for this series that make it worth watching! i have a few complains about editing choices and a few bad trope plot points which were just unnecessary (plus the fact we missed out on a lot of background info on some major characters lol...), but like despite everything this series rly struck a chord with me deep down in my soul lol
i could go waaay more into detail (and maybe i will one day lol... tho not rn, i’m v tired), but the gist of the matter is: i really love trapped lol
(conclusion)
Even though i’ve complained quite a bit here, i am so grateful for the HIStory series’ for bringing really interesting, and a little mad, stories with gay characters and story lines, with a big emphasis on happy endings! there are so many lgbt stories/characters in things that end up dying or just have bad endings, which just sends this horrible message that lgbt people aren’t worthy of having happy endings, which is completely untrue!
So i look forward to future HIStory’s, even if some of them are gonna be bad (& maybe none will live up to the trapped!shaped bullet firmly lodged in my heart lol)

Not BL-decoding sexuality in Banana Fish
Disclaimer:
I do not intend this to be a commentary on Banana Fish. Nor will I call it a review of the story-if anything, it's probably closest to a review of my response to the story. It is subjective, sentimental, and inconsistent. It is negative, but-alas do I find it SO important to highlight this-it is by no means a negative opinion on Yoshida Akimi and her deeply touching, aesthetically exhilarating masterpiece. I love this story, but it is precisely because of this, that I also find it crucial to decode some of the seemingly less reasonable (or evem dangerous) response it incites within me--just so that I may love it without fearing the peril of being misguided.
Now let's begin.
I first heard of Banana Fish when the anime project was announced in summer. There was an argument going on on my newsfeed, and from someone whom, as far as I knew, barely argued openly about anything at all. It was rather vehemently and somewhat indignantly pointed out that, some blogger, by labelling Banana Fish with the loose term 'BL', was doing it an egregious injustice, and that the two main characters, Ash and Eiji, are 'friends', (very firmly) NOT lovers.
Knowing nothing about the story then, I found the argument both baffling and discomforting-even homophobic. It seemed along the line of other common 'unconscious/internalized homophobia' in fiction, such as the over-used 'straight by default but gay for someone' trope. How can being lovers by any means lessen a relationship? And, even if BL is nowadays better used more cautiously to refer to the very specific genre of boys' love, is it that much of a big deal that another story involving (but not focused on) two male characters being in love with each other is referred to as BL?
I did not think of this until I've finished the entire series very recently. What scared me was that I did not only understand that argument for the first time, but, still deep in my BF-PTSD, found that sentiment even a bit agreeable than it seemed.
Perhaps it all boils down to: why do some people find it unacceptable to think of Ash and Eiji's relationship as physical?
The answer is simple: because then it will be more difficult to rise above all the other physical relationships depicted in the story.
It's a story about a victim of sexual abuse of the worst kind. It depicts sexual abuse with ruthless explicity and painful straightforward-ness. There's zero romanticization (and in this it already differs from the yaoi genre-the latter focused more on sexual fantasies and thus granted more allowance with their depiction of power dynamics in sex, not always what we'd call 'healthy' irl), not only on the level of plot but also on the very superficial level of visual representation-the abusers, Marvin, Dino, Fox, etc. are all physically grotesque, and that leaves little to no space for romanticization. Banana Fish does an absolutly perfect job in getting its message through-sexual abuse is painful and grotesque and there is nothing romantic about it. Never.
Further complication arises, however, when sexual abuse is intertwined with other themes that consist the core of the story. It's not only a story about a victim standing up against his abusers; it's also a story about the under-privileged against the richest and most powerful, the young against the old, the rebellious against the established, the isolated justice against the organized evil. It's not only manifested on Ash; Yue-Leung's arc fits all the above themes just as well. Even Eiji's escape from his unsuccessful athletic career (and the suppressed society back home, as Ibe mentions at one point) and his subsequent participation in this surrealisitc adventure may be read as a rebellion against his own society, which is constantly referred to as an antithesis of America. It's in the background, but to the wider Japanese readers it may have meta-textual significance-but that's mere speculation.
It's about rebellion, and rebellion against sexual abusers needs to be integrated into the extended motif. Sexual abuse does not only sit remotely in the narrative past in Ash's childhood memory. It comes to the surface, many, many times, but its essence remains consistent. Even the abusers are the same. Those who abused Ash when he was a kid want to or indeed do abuse him again when he is 17.
Here we have the boundary between paedophilia and homosexuality seriously blurred. We can't tell if Marvin is a paedophile or a homosexual or both, just as we can't tell about Dino, or about that gay bar owner/human trafficker whose name I don't recall atm.
When Marvin first appeared in ep1 we see him harassing Ash with thinly-veiled obscene innuendos. In ep2 we first see Skipper telling Eiji that 1) Marvin's gay and 2) he prefers blonde. It's not until later in ep2, when the tapes are being played (a highly disturbing and excellently performed scene), that we learn that Marvin is actually a paedophile. But it does not require us to contrast the later information with the earlier--Marvin has a fetish for people like Ash. That he is gay, that he prefers blonde, and that he prefers kids are but three ways of directing his sexual desire towards Ash. It's three steps of narrowing it down to our protagonist. 'Gay' is offered as a part of the information because it refers to a minority (and thus effectively narrows down the subject matter). If Marvin is a Humbert-Humbert, I doubt if Skipper will have said, 'He's heterosexual and he prefers blonde'. As much as we are unwilling to admit, heterosexual is still default in many contexts (more so in the time when Banana Fish was originally created), and that's precisely why only homosexuality merits the importance to be mentioned. Yet as a result of this economy of expression, homosexuality is associated with paedophilia.
What is a big relief to me is that they did not put in that scene with the gay bar owner's husband. For those who have only watched the anime--that human trafficker who raped Ash many times and is overtly paedophilic is not only a gay bar owner but also married to another man. Again it's not about narrative plausibility--a paedophile can totally also be married and own a gay bar--the problem is that all these information are unified to enhance one single image of one specific character--he is gay, he is married, he is a paedophile and a human trafficker, and he raped kids. I by no means suggest that this association is by any means intended--that will be a very serious and terrible accusation--but the economy of narrative means that, at that point in the story, there is simply not enough space nor necessity to discuss in detail how homosexuality and paedophilia are unrelated.
Dino is more complicated--he certainly has paedophilic acts, but we also see him sleeping with Yue-Leung and intending to sleep with Eiji, who by that point is 19 and physically different from pre-puberty kids victimized by paedophiles. His intimate contact with Ash (again highly disturbing) seems to suggest that he is obssessed with Ash regardless of his age. Homosexual intercourse is for the character of Dino less about information but about thematic unity--his dominance is manifested as the old over the young, the rich and powerful over the powerless, the established over the isolated. Here homosexual intercourse is not only associated with paedophilia--it's integrated into a more general evil of hierarchical dominance. This dominance and its non-consensual nature becomes all the more clear when Ash mentions that he once loved a girl at the age of 14.
There are many other sexual representation in the story--Fox, the prisoners, or even Hua-Leung to his half-brother Yue-Leung. If anything, their similarity is that they are all non-consensual, disturbingly and purely erotic, and involving significant age- and power gaps. It is age gaps that we feel most directly as part of the motif of dominance and rebellion--in other words, it's the young-old contrast that has thematic significance (as opposed to child-adult, which as a theme cannot extend from Ash's childhood into the narrative present) but age gap is relative, unlike the more fixed definition of child, adult, or paedophile.
Now back to Eiji and Ash. As a contrast to the darker side of grown-ups, their interactions are presented in such a way that it contrasts the sexual and abusive nature of Ash's encounters with many others. We never see deliberate physical contact between them; their beds are separate; even when they have to have physical contact, it's by no means erotic. Same can be said of another (among the few) positive relationship--that between Yue-Leung and Blanca. Blanca is overtly straight, and the comical depiction of Yue-Leung framing him with feigned homosexual contact between the two puts the possibility safely out of the picture. In a sense, all the positive relationships in the story are more about emotional mutual dependence (as positive relationships should be, one may argue).
It need not mean that it strictly excludes sexual contact, but, because of the established antitheses of the story, the emotional needs to be contrasted with the sexual just as the young needs to be contrasted with the old, and the victims need to be contrasted with the abusers. It's sexual abuse that Ash meets, so it's emotional comfort that he seeks. if it's not a story about sexual abuse, it will not have had the need to strictly exclude sexual contact from most of the positive relationships depicted. Opposites are not the most accurate way to understand the world but remains a powerful way to present it. Yet when artistic need demands so, some things simply have to be grouped into the 'positive' and their opposite the 'negative' to achieve the effect.
I will, perhaps, remain repulsed by any sexual depiction of the relationship between Ash and Eiji. I don't know if there are others who share the same sentiment, but it's perhaps better to remind oneself that it has more to do with the story's thematic presentation rather than intentional and detrimental stereotypes.

Minors will still search for R-18 content - Personal experience
I think I should talk about it here instead of on my main blog because it’s more related to my own content.
I can relate to Missy from Big Mouth [happily not at everything (?)]
I was around 9 when I discover how masturbate [I never was sexual abused, unless you count being molested on the bus or streets] I was doing exercise when cross my legs felt good and that... GOSH, I did it once in front of my mother and she just ignore it like the mom of Missy. I ask her and she told me about yoga, I don’t know if she realiced what I was doing, after all I was just crossing my legs and full clothed.
I was 10 (a week for being 11) when I read my first lemon fanfic (it was straight... more exactly, it was Shesshoumaru x Rin, he was my first top husbando (?)). This fanfic has all the warnings, I could skip the lemon part and still understand the story, the author pointed the start and the end of that part, and I still read that part. I can remember how I felt, I had a lot of curiosity about that, and somehow I recognice the other feeling and associate that to the one mentioned the previous paragraph... so it’s obviously what I did.
At that time I <<knew>> “a man and a woman should share a bed and then they can make a baby” I though they search something on the bed and somehow put it on the woman. So it was also funny discover how wrong I was.
After that, time to time I started to search that kind of fanfics(full straight). When I was 11, my last year on elementary school (because that’s the systen on my country) they left us a homework about choose a book write by a Nobel Prize and read it. I read “La tía Julia y el escribidor”, there the autor points he was around 12 when he “has sex” with a woman (I surprissed, even if I already read fanfics with that that book was autobiographic! Just few years after that I recognice that was abuse); many of my classmates read “Las aventuras de la niña mala”, that book was full of ero things, then I knew I wasn’t the only interested on that, and inside I was also feeling better than them because I already “knew” about that and even more detailed.
Maybe I was 13 when somehow I discover doujinshins.
I never told about that to anyone of my family except my twin, I didn’t think I was doing something so bad, but my parents were so old that I think they weren’t gonna understand, and I tought if I told that to another of my sibblings they could said about that to my parents, and I was on a Chatolic school...
I was 15 when my twin told me about “yaoi”, so “Junjou Romantica” was my first yaoi anime. Before I saw it I thought that was gross because ass was not a clean part of the body, but I saw it anyway. It was a big “Oah...!!!” I liked it a lot and seached for anothers animes like that. I had a lot of questions, but they didn’t matter a lot. So I watched others yaoi contents (Okane ga nai, Boku no Pico, and -my favorite even now- Koisuru boukun), I was a weaboo who didn’t know some of the things I read and though was normal were actually abuse. I was the kind of weaboo who tough rape was bad but still means love and that stupid things.
Until that time I dint’t think an homosexual relationship was possible. When I was a kid I wish I was a male because I had more male friends and if I were a male I could play with them on Physical Education, but then I though “I like X guy and he's male, if I was a male probably I will still like him, and maybe other males, but that’s not possible, males don’t like males, so I will end alone, but I will have more friends...even if I end up without a partner I want more friends. I wish I were born male”
There was a memory... one day a policewoman came to my school and told us that rape was really bad and it still counts even if the persons were married.
Somehow I entered a Hetalia facebook group. I was terrified because I didn’t talk a lot and I hadn’t many friends (I was ever a quiet person) but I wanted to share my emotion for that anime... so I entered and discover rolplay! I was excited because that was so fun, like writing a fanfic betwen two people without know how it will end. And... I started to rolplay yaoi hard with other girls around my age. In the group were a woman that was 23 I don’t remember rolplay yaoi hard with her, but she did it with a guy that had 14 (I was 15), she never tried to do something real to us (she molested us, but it was full joke and I’m absolutely sure it were jokes, I know how is a real attempt, I was to experience it on messenger if I didn’t recognice some signals). They (the woman of 25 and the puber of 14) teach me some things, like recognice that some things were abuse, preparation is important, most yaoi content is stupid (by the way they manage the relationship and romantice rape) but there is nothing bad on like it if you don’t associate that with reality.
I already didn’t associate fiction with reality (mostly because I didn’t care about reality), and because when I seach for doujinshis some pages show gifs of real porn and I found that really gross. The real thing was (and is still) vulgar and gross to me, I don’t like it. [Well I could said I’m only interested on male gay porn because I like male muscles -not exagerated-, but even that I wont watch it because I felt bad]. I like certain styles of drawing that just manga/anime has (and some cartoons).
Like a year ago I discover “Uncanny Valley” and if you read about that I’m sure you will understand why style is so important on the moment of said that we can separate fiction of reality when it comes from drawings. [Please read about Uncanny Valley is a deep studied thing.]
So since that time I read fanfiction or doujinshis or mangas and understand that there are things that we can explore in fiction but don’t touch on reality and even find gross and that didn’t mean we are just dennying we like it on reality.
It’s really simple, it’s not just with some kind of r-18 content, if you think about a character you really love but is bad or has bad acctitudes and then imagine him on reality probably you want to punch him because he is a trash (my personal example is Kacchan), but you still love him because he belongs to fiction.
I don’t think that is bad that an young adult guide a puber/kid/adolescent about sex things (obviously without touching and without the intention of abuse) because most of them didn’t have someone near who they can feel safe talking about that, but you should learn to recognice when they are trying to take advantage of you (some signals are: try to get your number, where you live or study, your schedule, your full name or your family’s, “inocent” photos that gradually demand more...) Intenet has a lot of answers but just if you had THE question, if you didn’t, you could find wrong things,
Well, it’s my personal experience. I wish I found that fanfic latter, at least when I was 15. R-18 is signed like that for a reason, but even that the curiosity is here since he were kids and even much more when we were pubers or adolescents; the changes, the hormones guide us to search more about that and it’s pretty normal (that didn’t mean we should obsess about that. It’s also normal don’t feel interested about that, just less common). It’s ok to ask an adult with whom you feel confident about that but don’t let your guard down, and... Liking something in fiction doesn’t mean liking it on the reality!
Pd: Since it’s impossible to full avoid adolescent from r-18 content I think the translators or fanfic authors will help them to don’t think abuse is romantic putting warning messages on the first page and tags
Pd2: If you are an adolescent I recommend you to watch “Big Mouth”, the artstyle makes you felt unconfortable, but it’s perfect for their message.

Cool Hip Anime!
youtube
Anime
Large sparkling eyes, brightly coloured frizzy hair, obscure nose and high facial expression reminds us connected with only one factor.
Anime
Can you do you know what the item is?
If your response is actually Anime, then STOP, to see an otaku's brain!
Cartoons (pronounced: "Ah-nee-may") will be a form of animation typically from Okazaki, japan. They have got their own style this means you will show that in peculiar and wonderful ways. Cartoons also has its very own sense associated with comedy along with has a unique thought processes. It can get actually strong and serious, as well as it could truly be silliest (like: "Lucky Star", "Kill Me Baby") in addition to craziest (like: "Death Note", "Gintama") thing a person have ever before seen. Many Anime demonstrates are centered on popular mangas (Japanese Comics), just putting any not much more life into these people. Cartoons often covers far more serious issues than normal cartoons. In the united states, cartoons tend to be considered a form regarding enjoyment meant for youngsters. In Okazaki , japan, people involving all ages (no, not necessarily newborn babies! ) see anime. Most shows and flicks are centred for youngsters, teenager or young older people, but you can also get many cartoons that are made with regard to older crowd even business people and housewives!
The phrase "Anime" is the close pronunciation connected with "animation" within Japanese, exactly where this expression references just about all animation. Outside the house Japan, cartoons is applied to refer specifically toon from Japan or Western disseminated animation style usually characterized by colourful visuals, attractive characters and fantastical designs. Japanese animation commenced inside 20th century. Katsudo Shashin is claimed for you to be the first Japan animation. The 1923 Fantastic Kanto earthquake triggered wide-spread destruction including demolition associated with earliest Anime Companies as well as anime works; departing Kouchi's Namakura Gatana because the most well-known surviving animation. The 1st cartoons television series was Otogi Manga Calendar aired by 1961 to 1964.
This introduction to anime ended up being in category four while I watched "City Hunter" in a T. Sixth v. channel, Animax. Though I could see anime (as a make a difference of fact the particular multiple of anime is usually anime) like "Doraemon", "Shinchan", "Avatar-The last airbender", "Summer Days and nights with Coo", "AstroBoy", "Dragon Ball-Z", "Naruto" in the past just before yet I did definitely not recognize the profound perception regarding anime as this was dubbed throughout Hindi (rather I would point out "contaminated" instead of "dubbed" by means of old, ridiculous man noises in Hindi who also would break unnecessary, slap-stick jokes deviating viewers through the plot and also terrain you in a hotch-potch of indianised anime). My very own sister ( three yrs young than me even though I actually refuse to confess she is older when compared with me) took weird curiosity in Japanese anime similar to " Tears to Tiara" and "Stigma of typically the Wind" aired in Animax: that we thought strange from that time while the "patriotic inertia" will stop me from receiving something but Indian products. I got first repelled by often the proven fact that all the words casts have been in Japoneses and to understand history I had to consider difficulty of reading the actual Subtitles in english and had to help correlate the particular speech using the video proven; regarding which great deal involving attention seemed to be required. That was impossible personally in order to do both those exhaustion tasks at the very same time, so I delivered to my old Capital t. V. channels: Cartoon Community, Nickolodeans, Hungama, Pogo, Come back and Jetix.
After some sort of very long hiatus, in type seven, My spouse and i again started out experimenting our skills with understanding anime which often converted out to be a new success, when I 1st delighted in anime including "Hayate the Combat Butler" along with "Fairy Tail". Also! This kind of sweet poison! Following a total hectic day time in school, expenses, floating around classes, art in addition to audio classes, and full various other heck lot of routines; I waited only to be able to settle-back and relax for you to watch these kinds of anime. From that time, nothing was of importance to me; not also my parents, close friends as well as teachers. In that online realms of pleasure My partner and i could equipment my failures and sufferings as effortlessly as I got obtained in successes. Nothing irritated me, except when We were required to attend phone telephone calls or to wide open entrance, if any guests will come when the anime indicates were ongoing. However, cartoons hardly did affect this studies as after seeing two hour long plan, I suffered from PARTS (Post Anime Depression Syndrome) that I suffered typically the sense of guilt of wasting moment that has been more intensified through my very own mother's rebuke (I wish to describe this circumstance as "Kata Ghaye nuun-er Chheta") and this also guilt might propel my family to review harder, concentrate and also perform for longer hours this also occurred as daily schedule in my opinion; so I can easily get the best of most connected with the students be that researching or swimming or even any different work.
Hence to all parents, I actually would like to ask for allowing your kids to help watch anime because it proved helpful out for me (maybe I use strange wirings within my human brain! ). Enjoying anime would help an individual to hone your fictional, vocabulary and analytical expertise. More importantly, it would certainly serve as a enormous source of entertainment, at the very least way beyond the little league of daily Indian soap.
Understanding the culture associated with origins is very crucial to realize the plan, be it Japanese cartoons, Korean language Aeni webtoons, China's Manhua Anime or Us sitcoms (which I endured after i was novice inside observing anime). If anyone have watched virtually any cartoons, you will probably discover that often the characters respond differently along with things throughout general (like properties, vehicles, eating etc. ) are usually bit different from everything you used to. Probably the actual most readily evident distinctions between Japanese computer animation in addition to others is the a muslim everywhere huge eyes (bigger in comparison with nose), brightly girl locks, some well-endowed character types as well as exaggerated emotional movement and also gestures are regular regarding anime. Being hand-drawn, cartoons is separated coming from actuality providing an best path intended for escapism directly into which followers can involve themselves having relative simplicity. The production of cartoons focusses less on the particular cartoon movement and considerably more on the realistic look involving settings like "The Yard of Words".
The particular beginning and credit sequences connected with most anime are combined with Japanese rock or take song which maybe related to the anime series, simply by popular bands. "Nanairo Namida" by Tomato n' Pinus radiata of anime "Beelzebub" along with "Just Awake" of cartoons "Hunter X Hunter" are a few of my favourite anime tunes, which you may try out.
Since there are several sorts of cartoons, one will need to classify these individuals with different genres, some associated with them are generally: Action, Audio, Mecha, Experience, Mystery, Bishounen, Yuri, Yaoi, Akuma, Seinen, Shoujo, Shounen, Kodomo, Piece of Existence and a lot of more. Whether you're the die-hard anime fan (like me generally labelled seeing that "otaku"), a casual watcher, the interested onlooker or perhaps commoner from non-anime website: cartoons genres shall supply you actually with some simple knowledge which help you in order to venture the cartoons planet with ease and joy.
I am going to be able to share some remarkable rates of anime which will etch my heart usually are:
• Motoko Kusanagi regarding "Ghost in the Shell a couple of: Innocence"
"We weep to get blood of a pet although not for the our blood of a species of fish. Endowed are those with any tone. "
• Shinchi Akiyama of "Liar Game"
"People SHOULD be doubted. Many people get me wrong this specific concept. Doubting people is simply a part of getting for you to know them. Just what quite a few people call "trust" is absolutely just giving up about wanting to understand others in addition to that extremely act is definitely far more serious than questioning. It is actually 'apathy'. "
• Hachiman Hikigaya of "My Teen Passionate Comedy SNAFU"
"If simple truth is cruel
Then
Lie needs to be kind
Then
Kindness need to be lie"
You can observe anime with T. /. by opting-in to Animax, Aniplus, AnimeCental, TV Tokyo or online on internet sites like animehaven. to help, kissanime, Funimation. com, Netflix, Crunchyroll. com, hulu, Vimeo and so forth.

Chapter 13 - Doubt
In the archaeological internship Lin Yan participated in, the Ming Tomb was undoubtedly a very peculiar place. The excavation work lasted three months. Before the excavation started, Lin Yan didn't even get any relevant background information. He asked his professor several times but never got a response. When he was told that would be staying at the tomb for only a week, he thought he was coming to be the team's water boy. Instead, he was unexpectedly sent to the site as soon as the plane touched down and was given one of the most important jobs of cleaning the body found in the main room of the tomb.
It was a medium-sized underground mysterious tomb. Bluestone blocks were built into arches. The apse in the room was about forty meters long. A large black lacquered coffin left slightly ajar rested peacefully on the stone platform. Lin Yan and the rest of the crew held their breath together. When the golden nanmu wood coffin lid was slowly lifted, and the gold, silver, jade and rosy brocade around the corpse were exposed, a soft cheer erupted from the tomb. Everyone couldn't help but celebrate that they found such an magnificent mausoleum that had been left completely untouched by tomb robbers. After a long while, all nonessential personnel evacuated one by one. Lin Yan remembered that the professor was the last one to leave the scene. When he left, he rested his hand heavily on his shoulders, as if he wanted to say something but never ended up getting anything out. In the empty and dark main room of the tomb, only Lin Yan and a few lights, both bright and dim, were left. Sometimes, the miner's lamp was often extinguished inexplicably. He later recalled that the owner of the tomb might have been watching him ever since then.
The corpse in the coffin had rotted into a skeleton, but the hair that remained was soft and shiny. However, when Lin Yan sat alone by the coffin and skimmed through some history books, doubts arose. The identity of the owner of the tomb was like the bronze of this mysterious palace, unrecognizable under the green rust. There was no record, no genealogy, nothing even mentioned in town and county chronologies. The tomb's eternal light placed in front of the coffin had long been dried up, and a two-foot-long black name card behind it was coated with thick old blood. The place where the name should be written was empty, and it turned out to be a non-character memorial tablet.
When the last artifact in the coffin was successfully taken out, Lin Yan was told he could return. It only took them seven days and no one had ever told him about the origin of the tomb that whole time.
The sun was shining on Friday morning, and the roses in the flower bed were rushing to bloom. There was a soft fragrance of something oily like burning opium in the air. Lin Yan parked his car at the school gate and hurried through the small square in front of the building to get to the professor's office. He was in such a rush that he went through the ground fountain in the square. After he took a few steps, bells and drums started playing and spurts of water shot from the jets, the surrounding area immediately turning into a forest of water columns shooting up.
"Shit. . ." He couldn't dodge them and got completely soaked. Lin Yan internally cursed as he rushed forward, wringing out the hem of his shirt. A few school girls had just come out of the main entrance of the building and giggled at the embarrassing scene.
Lin Yan blushed a little.
Shiny drops of water splashed off his hair and a droplet fell into his eye. When he raised his hand to wipe it away, his wrist was caught by someone. The cold fingertips wiped the drop off one of his eyelashes. Lin Yan blinked and stood there silently.
When he walked up the steps, he saw a new large poster on the left side of the automatic door. A gentle-looking middle-aged man with glasses was holding a pen, and his demeanour resembled an unopened folder in a stationery store. There was a large line next to him: Chen XX, a well-known Chinese history professor, is coming to our school to give a lecture. All students are welcome to participate. This will be a great chance to interact with the professor.
The tune played was one typically used by the Propaganda Department, the following rows of small letters are written with the specific time and content of the event. Lin Yan struggled to twist the hem of the wet T-shirt and walked towards the hall, muttering that this was probably the reason that the fountain suddenly turned on. Turning back, he frowned and stood in front of the poster for a minute. He always felt that the man on the poster was a bit familiar, but he couldn't remember who it was. After thinking about it for a while, Lin Yan shook his head and stepped through the hall.
The professor's office was on the fourth floor.
"Professor, are you kidding me? From the preliminary preparations to the end of the tomb excavation, so many people participated in it. How could it be possible that nothing about the tomb owner's origins could be found until now?"
"That tomb was already considered to be average to wealthy for the time period. Even if the owner of the tomb was not of official origin, there is always a record in historical records for wealthy businessmen."
University institutions were never busy on Fridays. Everyone was waiting for the weekend. Lin Yan’s professor was no exception. He was sitting in the office with his legs crossed when the drenched student burst into his office. Behind the table, he held a heavy purple sand teacup in his hand. Because he often went to the West in his early years, his skin was wrinkled by the wind and frost. His midsection was blessed by some middle-aged fat, and the bags under the eyes were hanging loosely behind the glasses.
The professor grew impatient with Lin Yan's aggressive tone, and patted a stack of books on the table: "Isn't that so? You see, I'm more worried about writing a report on the excavation. I've been busy for more than a month and I haven't made any progress."
Lin Yan leaned forward impatiently with his hands on the glass plate of the tabletop: "The mausoleum was left untouched. The body and burial items were intact. Isn't it possible to determine the identity of the tomb owner?"
This student had always been known for his politeness and patience. It was rare for him to be this anxious.
"That's the problem. Comparing the data compiled based on the unearthed cultural relics with the records at the time, I can only say that he's completely unknown." The professor put down the cup and tapped his finger on the cover of the book a few times: "Ming Dynasty history is not my specialty. Tell me, why don't you do some research yourself? The students in our school must be able to research independently. You should make good use of the school library resources."
Lin Yan shook his head disappointedly. Just like the professor said, there was a lot of historical data to go through. He wouldn't make any progress in the next three months. Even three years might not be enough time to go through all the information. By then, he would have run out of ten lives. What's more, he has searched through the relevant history books of the library for the past week and even asked Yin Zhou to search through the database in less legal ways, but the strange thing is that no matter what keywords they use - the age, name, location - he couldn't find any information. It was common sense that, in ancient times, even a talented person would be written about somewhere in the county annals, but this Xiao Yu was like a person from another world. The records passed over him like he had never existed.
The faint scent of book pages and wood was floating in the air, and the light blue shutters broke up the rays of sun leaking in. Lin Yan subconsciously glanced back, as if there should be a companion waiting to respond to his doubts. But Xiao Yu does exist, he thought.
Trying his best to stay calm, Lin Yan lowered his head and lowered his voice: "Teacher, this is really important to me, can you help. . ." While speaking, his gaze was fixed on the table. Under the glass plate were many old photos of the professor when he was young. There was a row of people wearing work clothes and hard hats in the black-and-white pictures. Compared to the middle-aged man with swollen eyes in front of him, there was a strange sense of contradiction in the gray-headed but happy-looking man in the pictures.
Time really did wonders.
The instructor tapped two fingers on the table. He didn't look at Lin Yan when he spoke. His eyes were a little dodged: "Why do you need to know the owner of the tomb? Do you need to write a paper?"
Lin Yan took a deep breath. He had always had a keen insight into people's emotions. When he had been sorting through clues last night, the situation that occurred in the tomb flashed in his mind. He had already had his doubts at the time, but he was so nervous and excited that he didn't think too much of it. For example, ever since he joined the team, everyone had been keeping secrets, and the professor also looked at him with that dodgy look when the excavators all left the tomb. The whole thing seemed to have been arranged long ago, so Lin Yan hadn't cared about interrupting the teacher's off-time and grabbed the phone to set up a meeting time.
"Professor, you should know why; this is a matter of life and death." After hesitating for a moment, Lin Yan frowned and said this sentence with emphasis. He pressed his hands on the table hard and turned away.
When I walked to the door of the office. He paused, one, two. . . Lin Yan counted silently in his heart.
Three.
"Wait." The professor's voice sounded from behind.
"Lin Yan, this project isn't under my control. I just heard that a lot of strange things happened when the tomb was opened. Someone came to me and asked you to go. I didn't agree with it. . . If you really want to know more, you can go ask the coordinator of the excavation yourself." The finger tapped twice on the desk. "His name is Chen, he'll be at our school next Monday for a lecture. There are posters downstairs." After speaking, he took a few volumes from the neatly arranged books and put them back on the table, gesturing that he could leave. "You can get more out of him than me"
"Last question." Lin Yan held the door frame and poked his face in: "Teacher, do you know Xiao Yu?"
"No, I don't." The answer was quick this time: "Who's that?"
Lin Yan sighed and held the railing as he quickly walked downstairs.

hello!! i just finished kh3 so below are my thoughts. obviously, spoiler warning if you havent finished the game.
first of all...... wow!!!!!!!!!! its real!!!!!!! i held the game in my own hands and played it!!!!!!!!! 12 year old me has been screaming non stop since the release im in a fog of emotion. every time i started up the game and heard that new kh3 rendition of dearly beloved with the ocean waves i just absolutely lost it
however, in the end, i feel mixed. i guess the hype over the years built up to an astronomical amount and while the game was incredibly fun and beautiful and i love seeing the story finally pan out into the finale, in a way it also felt very short? as of writing the first few paragraphs here i have just started san fransokyo, so i havent seen the actual finale, but these are my current thoughts and i will update this as i play. i still feel like there is so much more that is going to happen and ive barely even scratched the surface
theres a lot of new information that got me going WILD. piecing everything together & theorizing is always something i find fun about kingdom hearts since its so unpredictable. in fact i got so into it i had to start taking notes and making diagrams. i love a game that makes me bust out a notebook. (i do this for hm/sos/stardew and acnl as well lmao)
also every single time ienzo came on screen i went absolutely HOG WILD. when he laughed? the little laugh?? his smile?????? just thinking about it now is making me misty eyed fellas i love my boy
the implication that demyx, luxord (was his name always pronounced luke-sord??? i always said luck-sord wtf), and obviously marluxia and larxene's somebodies are from before the keyblade war is out of control!!!! vexen and demyx being double agents for ansem the wise?? ANSEM THE WISE'S REUNION WITH IENZO!!!!!!!!?????????? also zemyx is real sdfjsdlkfjsdlkfsdlkfjsdlkf jk
uHHHHHHH VENTUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MY BABY MY SONION!!!!!!!! AND AQUA!!!!!!!!!! I'M SO EMOTIONAL!!!!!!!!!!!! im honestly losing my mind everything is coming together aaaaaaaaaaaa literally seeing ventus looking SO BEAUTIFUL is making me lose my mind AND UHH AQUA.... REALIZING SHES IN THE WORLD OF LIGHT...........DAMN U NOMURA FOR MAKING ME FEEL
S-SAIX................................. I LOVE EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!
i felt very mixed about the paopu sharing scene. while i know this ship was always going to be endgame, i really hate how little development it actually gets throughout the Whole Series so instead it feels So forced. that scene is bone dry. the whole time i was wondering why they werent including riku since he was like.. 20 feet away.... like hes your best friend too guys.... i really am unable to understand this scene. like... nomura you KNOW how to write compelling relationships so what happened buddy. woody and buzz had more romantic tension than sora and kairi. also like when she leads him into the light or whatever.. whats the deal
i LOVE kairi but god. can you PLEASE let her do SOMETHING????? CAN I PLAY AS KAIRI??? im so tired of her being reduced to a damsel even when she has a weapon shes supposedly adept with now. she has had like.............. no development. im so sorry this happened to you kairi
im surprised there arent more worlds. i thought there would be the same or a greater number of disney worlds as kh2 but theres actually fewer?? and they feel much longer, or at least some of them do. worlds like the caribbean and toybox felt gigantic and took me forever while corona and monstropolis felt smaller. and some of the worlds you cant even fully explore until after you played through the story????
also im very intrigued about this new female character that keeps getting mentioned vaguely. i suspect there will be some intense retcons put in place abt her since she has NEVER been mentioned before dispite it seeming like shes very important.
the final world place is very interesting conceptually but like how many times in this series am i going to have to collect soras lmao ALTHO i loved hearing from namine ;_; i miss u sweet girl
also uhh i could write for forever about sora as a character and how complex he is when you actually think abt it. i STILL see ppl saying riku is more interesting as a character but i feel like ppl only look at soras optimistic outlook. sora really keeps his feelings locked up way more than you think he would & not only that but hes so empathetic he ends up tackling everyone else's feelings too.. the idea that he is only powerful or useful because he has friends really hammers in how he says "my friends are my power" like.. every 5 seconds.. god  i love u but pls take a break for a Second. i just want him to go home and hug his mom
-
ok i just finished. like 5 mins ago. im still trying to like.. register what happened. the final act really packed a LOT together. i feel like theres too much to even mention right now. and theres still SO many questions.
like i said before, i feel mixed. while there was a LOT to like about this game, there was also a lot that i did not like or was confused/put off by. i thought the first like, 2/3 of the game was too long and kind of boring sometimes? i couldnt handle in arendelle how they included the songs.. i get why they did it but it was NOT for me. the disney worlds kind of dragged on and, outside of the story connections to the finale, felt a little pointless. nothing happened other than the org popped in to egg on sora and then left. and the final act went by SO QUICKLY i didnt feel like there was enough time to register all the shit that was happening. also i fucking HATE how after everything, kairi was reduced to a damsel YET AGAIN. are you KIDDING ME!!!!!!!!! everything she does is off-screen and her "death" acts as a motivation for sora which is the worst way to do things like what the fuck
i personally really liked the game, even if parts were not as i initially expected. there was a lot of hype surrounding this game, but i think for what it was, it was as enjoyable to play as any kh game, and it delivered a lot of emotions, answered a few questions, created more questions, and wrapped up the dark seeker saga pretty nicely while still leaving room for future stories to be told. and BOY do i have some questions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
people who dont like how convoluted, dramatic, weird,  tropey  or heavily-retconned the plot is might think its bad. but ppl have thought kh in general is bad for those reasons for years anyway. honestly while these are all things that i can understand and empathize with, in the end for me its about how it makes me feel rather than like, how well it follows storytelling rules? and it sure made me feel a Lot. like im saying this as a long-time superfan so lmao
anyway i cried a lot for a very long time about the following: old man yaoi, ventus and roxas being in the same shot, how everyone looks rendered in beautiful next-gen hd, lea isa  and xions new outfits, namixi date, uhhh seasalt trio finally got to go to the beach together, namine being ALIVE, all the shit everyone said after i beat them in the labrynth, how often everyone cried in this game, sora uhhh not existing??? what happened????? is this what the next game is going to be about???
THANKS NOMURA FOR MY FUCKING LIFE????????

Being nice has its faults.
For starters, it’s how you got where you were right now:
On your knees sucking off the lead bassist and backup singer of the local hit band of your miniscule town.
They were well known in the area, halfway due to the fact that your grand little town’s population is a whopping number of 1,212, allowed just about everyone to see one of their performances at least once in their boring ass lives. It was one of the few highlights in this barren wasteland, you unfortunately had to say.
No one ever really stays here, it’s boring and most kids grow out of its minimal charms well past the time they hit puberty. So it’s no surprise that you only find entertainment in a few things; one of which was music so you always attended every show the group, No Mercy, performed. You were a known “groupie” of the band, along with the lead rapper’s girlfriend and the lead singer’s little brother.
The other?
Well, it was exactly what you were doing.
No better way to kill time than to fool around, right?
Hyungwon tugged at your hair, making you pull off him completely. He forced you to look up at him, lips slick and shiny in the low lights from being backstage. He smirked, loving how debauched you looked and he made quick remedy of his lapse in action by reattaching your mouth to his length. As your lips slid lower he groaned, letting his head roll back and fingers card into your hair deeper, keeping you at his base for a couple of seconds. While it burned your lungs due to the lack of airflow getting to you, it was Hyungwon’s favorite so you braced yourself to put up with it.
“Fuck, such a good girl for me, aren’t you?” Hyungwon drawled, easily aroused from just the sight of you on your knees, let alone with his entire dick inside your velvet-hot mouth. “Mmm, never met such a nice girl before…”
You see, Hyungwon wasn’t from this town originally.
He’d grown up in the big city, somewhere far away where movie stars and Broadway singers were born; nothing like the sad sack that was your own hometown. He came here his freshman year of high school because of his parents, something about his father getting the unfortunate transfer to this town. So he made due with what cards he was dealt, having been born with the blessing of a pretty face and a sharp enough tongue to keep himself afloat among the bullies and predators alike.
Luckily for his (current) bandmates, he had a knack for music so he was quickly welcomed by the young and hormonal teens that were the origins of No Mercy. Gunhee had thought Hyungwon was only a pretty face but Kihyun was sure they could make use of him, even if that was all he could bring to the table. Turns out they lucked out when Hyungwon got his hands on his uncle’s old bass and revealed what his nimble hands, elephant memory and innate ability to catch on quickly could manage.
He was secured a spot in the “exclusive” band that was guaranteed to get him some serious pussy. Their words, not yours.
They weren’t wrong though.
Being in the band, like you said, was a highlight. It meant you were special; different. Girls wanted that small sense of importance of going out or fucking a celebrity, albeit a local one. Anything to get a spark of adventure from an otherwise drab lifestyle.
These guys were the ones dads warned their daughters about, the ones that other guys fantasized being. In this town, they were the guys that trashed hotel rooms and had their faces on the news more times than you could count.
In this town, that counted for something.
“So fuckin’ nice, let me use you all I want,” Hyungwon continued, hips pumping forward in their own rhythm, slightly erratic and off-tempo which wasn’t usual for the otherwise musical male. He was probably close and you thought about pulling off and finishing him with your hand. But he had a thing for facials and you knew that’d be too damning since there was no way you’d get it all off before needed to head to a restroom to properly clean it off.
So you just sucked hard, brought your other hand up to rub his balls until you felt them tighten up and his fingers followed suit, keeping an iron grip in your hair as he emptied himself into your throat. It was slick and you nearly choked on it but you breathed through your nose and waited for the burn to die down before swallowing. Hyungwon groaned once more, a little too loud for your tastes, before finally letting go of you and you nearly fell back on your haunches from the recoil as his grip loosened.
He barely gave you enough time to swallow and wipe the excess spit and come around your mouth with the back of your hand by the time he was already zipped back up in his pants.
“Sweetheart, you’re the best stress reliever, you know that? Gotta head on stage now though, don’t wait up.” He was already up and out the door and you meekly waved goodbye, a gesture he’d probably never return.
You were just too nice to do anything or say anything about it. So that’s how it worked between you two. He’d want you to suck his dick or a quick fuck in the closest janitor’s closet you could find before a gig. And you’d let him. Every damn time.
○ ◐ ●
“Wasn’t that just incredible?” Eunwoo began, her eyes lit up like Christmas lights that were strung up too soon in the excitement of the now-tainted holiday. “It has to be one of their best shows! I can’t believe Kihyun and Wonho kissed onstage! We knew they had to be dating, they can’t deny it now!” Not like they were hiding it in the first place, they were practically giving people mono just from staring at their blatant PDA.
You nodded and let Eunwoo have her fun, knowing she was one of those girls that glamorized everything No Mercy did, whether it was good or bad or illegal or just downright wrong. She still can’t believe you’ve had Hyungwon inside you on multiple occasions, though she always seems to phrase it as if you two were some thing. As if it was more than just quick fucks on Monday mornings or him needing to taste you after fucking some brainless chick at an after party.
She had been so sure that Hyungwon looked at you during one of their more sensual songs, the slow lick of his bass making tingles rise up your spine as you watched what his deft fingers were capable of; more than just playing a bass, that’s for sure. But Hyungwon was definitely not looking at you, his eyes were on the girl who just turned 18 and was celebrating her birthday at this club, barely there tits popping out of her three-sizes-too-tight dress and making Hyungwon feel like he was a freshman all over again.
You knew you’d never get anything real out of Hyungwon, not like it’s something to be desired anyways. He’s a nobody when you get down to it, a one-hit-wonder in the industry of music. He’d probably never get out of this wormhole now, while you at least had a semblance of a chance to escape. He’d stay here and age terribly and watch as some new youngsters come in and steal his legacy and probably his bass too because no doubt they’ll be little criminals like themselves.
That’s the only way you can get through all this torture, you just had to convince yourself that you’ll get out eventually and he’ll just be a stamp in your passport; long forgotten and worn down by the time you actually do remember to look back at it.
Sighing, you let her believe whatever the fuck she wants as you downed the rest of your lukewarm beer, ignoring the disgusting taste that resembles the bitterness of your own apathy and the dewy condensation that clung to your fingertips.
○ ◐ ●
You were backstage, as usual, and the two main singers were already up to bat with their excessive displays of affection.
“Ki, could you at least wait until the rest of us leave before you shove your tongue down Hoseok’s throat?” You groaned as you literally watched their mouths break with a line of saliva between their lips, something straight out of a B-list porno or some shitty yaoi anime.
“Y/N, you need to get some dick man. Hyungwon might be available after he finishes giving that birthday girl her gift,” Kihyun joked, trying to give you a sly smile but getting intercepted by a sharp jab of Hoseok’s elbow against his ribcage.
“Don’t listen to him. I heard the bartender here is actually a pretty cool guy, if you wanna go see him?” Hoseok sweetly pieced his words together carefully, knowing he was already treading on a sensitive topic that his boyfriend so barbarically threw himself into. Hoseok hated what you got up to with Hyungwon, because he knew it was pointless; a hollow relationship at best.
Give it to Hoseok to always look out for you, like an older brother you never asked for but are happy to have been graced with anyways. You thanked him and allowed them to get back to their dirty antics while you scouted out this so-called cool bartender.
Seeing him still stationed at the bar, you perched upon the stool furthest from the stage, where a little light made you less washed out and the sounds of Kihyun and Hoseok making out were less audible.
Up strolled the bartender, right on cue, with a soft smile and warm brown eyes. When he grinned, little dimples toyed on his cheeks and you fought the urge to dip your digits into them just to see if they were as deep as they looked.
“Hey there gorgeous, what’re you craving?” His name tag read ‘Namjoon’ and you met his smile with your own, the feeling of the edges of your mouth tipping up feeling foreign and unfamiliar to you. It’d been so long since you’d smiled so grand, so genuinely.
This was what nice felt like.
“Well, I’m feeling particularly thirsty, so… maybe you?” You giggled—you never giggle, what was happening?—and Namjoon mirrored it with his own small laugh, something that was a lot higher-pitched and cuter than you would’ve pegged for such a strapping man like himself. It was fitting though, how warm his laugh sprouted from him, like he laughs every day, like clockwork; the sun coming up and descending with his chuckles. You wished you could be that happy.
“That was smooth, I’ll give you that. A round on me?” Namjoon offered, already holding up the bottle of brown liquor that you’re sure is either cinnamon or vanilla laced, the smell already so strong from where he held the bottle upright. You nodded and let the amber liquid fill the small glass he had in his other hand, momentarily letting your fingers graze his own when he handed it over.
“I’m not actually supposed to drink on the job, but I wouldn’t want a pretty lady like yourself to be drinking all by herself so,” He poured himself a glass and raised it to signal a toast, the sound of your glasses clinking resounding in your ears. It felt like New Year’s Eve, the impending countdown making you itch to reach over and kiss the closest person next to you. Which happened to be Namjoon, what a coincidence.
A few more drinks in, and you two were bantering like nothing. It turns out Namjoon is not only a great conversationalist, but he also an aspiring musician himself. He likes to listen in on the local talent, thinking about becoming a producer and maybe making songs for them to perform. It was a great dream to pursue, certainly more tasteful than Hyungwon’s own ‘I want to fuck a girl in every venue I ever perform in’ fantasy.
You looked down at your phone and realized that you’d been talking for nearly an hour, the time whirring past so fast because of how easy conversation between the two of you came. You were ready to ask Namjoon the golden question, the whole reason why you approached him in the first place. You leaned forward, letting your biggest puppy dog eyes come into play and you made sure to use your signature move of gently stroking Namjoon’s arm as you spoke.
“So, I was thinking if maybe you and I could—”
“Really Y/N? Already trying to find someone else all because I was busy?” Hyungwon came up from behind you, reaching for the remainder of your drink and downing the rest of it. He slammed the glass down harshly, making you worry that the glass might’ve cracked from the force. You flinched at the sound, Namjoon’s expression molding to one of confusion as his eyes skipped back and forth between Hyungwon and yourself.
“Listen, now you could stick with this chump and he might reward you with whatever shitty tips he made tonight or you could score with a real rock star and actually get to come tonight.” He pursed his lips and tapped his talented but most likely dirty fingers on the countertop of the bar. With one eyebrow cocked, he eyed you up and down before realizing you weren’t making a move to leave with him.
Fuck Hyungwon, you were having a perfectly nice time here with Namjoon. He knew how to respect you and treat you right and make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside and—
“I see how it is. Well, in that case,” Hyungwon was clearly unhappy, and it’s because he’s grown up as a spoiled brat. He always got what he wanted, including you. Partly because you were too damn nice to say no and partly because Hyungwon, as much as it pained you to admit, was a pretty good lay. He turned to Namjoon and gave him a sneer. “When you go down on her, tell me how my motherfucking dick tastes.” He chuckled and left without another word, leaving Namjoon gaping from his statement and you flushed out of embarrassment and maybe slight arousal.
It was because your body was nice too, that’s all.
“Man, am I sorry you have to deal with that prick. Just like the rest of them, gets discovered on a minor scale and they still get the biggest heads.” Namjoon reached for your hand and stroked the top with his thumb as he spoke in soft syllables. “Listen, I’d love to take you out sometime. I have to finish my shift and I’m working late tonight but,” He handed you a napkin with his number scrawled on it, just barely legible. “Call me sometime, okay? Don’t let guys like that,” He points his chin in Hyungwon’s direction as he’s seen chasing another skirt. “Get to you.”
You nodded and politely smiled before excusing yourself, heading to the back of the stage where you’d no doubt meet with any of the members that still remained before heading to whatever after party they’ve delegated they’ll appear at.
You’re met with an empty area, the boys already cleared out and having long forgotten you. It had been an hour and you were clearly getting along well with Namjoon, they probably assumed you’d be going home with him or he’d at least give you a ride to your own apartment. The only reason one member remained was because he was too busy fucking some girl in the less-than-hygienic bathroom here at the club.
“Well, well, well. It looks like someone struck out,” Hyungwon drawled from behind you, already snaking his arm around your waist. You tensed for a moment, feeling like prey trapped in the corner as the predator watches hungrily at their dinner helpless and at their disposal. “Guess you’ll have to come with me then.” He murmured into your ear, the feeling of his liquor laced breath warm against the shell of your ear. It wasn’t the warmth you felt with Namjoon, but you slowly began to realize something as Hyungwon led you away.
That kind of warmth doesn’t happen for people like yourself. Because you’re just too nice to give into that selfish feeling.
Looks like Hyungwon gets what he wants, like always.

It’s been years since the Gundams existed, yet he still manages to find himself in the clasp of those metallic prongs. The scientist has always been lethal, he knew that better than anyone. But how much did they know about the good doctor? More importantly how did they manage to involve Relena? He could never bring himself to kill her, the old man might not be so lucky.

Basically Duo is a jerk and Heero is an awkward nerd.

Legacy Part 4: WuFei’s POV https://lbro009.tumblr.com/post/164713501400/legacy-part-4-wufei-pov
An old story I am trying to finish up- set post-EW. Mostly about Sally but also heavily featuring Duo and Wufei, among other characters. A smidge of Zechs in this chapter too. Angst angsty angst is how I would describe this chapter.
Lord Raa
Heero Sandwich (Ch. 7) https://www.fanfiction.net/s/12594063/7/Heero-Sandwich
Nobody asked for this, especially not Heero Yuy, but here we are all the same.
Prepare for a "comedy" with some adult content. If the chapters feel truncated, then you might want to look for a certain Fanfiction Forum on the (dot) net for a more complete experience.
luvsanime02
Turbulence http://archiveofourown.org/works/11927283/chapters/26957496
The story about what Agent Frank Parks has been up to between Evasion and now.
This is the seventh story in Navigation, a fem!Heero series.
I noted this in the tags, but I just want to say again that there are a couple of sexist slurs in this interlude, and I don't want anyone to be caught off-guard. Read safely!

Darkside Tales http://archiveofourown.org/works/11910963/chapters/26913267
A Preventer has caught a thief. How banal. Having a straight poker like Chang Wufei chain him up and hang him from the ceiling is a tiny bit on the left side of banal, but still within spitting distance, Duo judges. Nothing to see here, folks, keep walking.
But on the darkside of this tale, like a cracked photographic plate, monsters of the mind are revealed.
5/1, 5/2
Moving http://archiveofourown.org/works/11973444

In the year AC 205 the status of the Earth-Sphere remains relatively peaceful thanks to the efforts of the ESUN and it’s peacekeeping organization Preventer. The five young men who had once fought together for this peace now work quietly behind the scenes to maintain it. Despite their new roles in this world, Heero and Trowa struggle to establish a comfortable place in it. In the process of finding themselves they eventually realize that their place is with each other.

Zodiac Black (Ch. 2) http://archiveofourown.org/works/11947887/chapters/27012120
Set several years in the future, Heero and his seasoned crew are on a mission to transport passengers from Earth to a colony planet. Under the guidance of new management, the crew has to cope with the inconvenient changes that disrupt their lives on the ship. This includes fic, snippets, art, OC profiles, headcanons, ships, discussions, and anything you have as long as it’s about an OC. Even if this OC of yours is still in the mulling-stages, we want to hear about it! Let’s embrace OCs and celebrate our collective awesomeness.
