A Lot More Scales #as you can see here it used all 100 of my green metal scales and i had to dip into the plastic glow in the dark ones #i also need to crochet a little looser. cos to crochet w scales from the top down i gotta kinda. do them upside down and flip them? and if #i crochet too tight they dont wanna flip...and i cant do my usual trick of using a bigger hook cos this is the biggest hook i can use w #this hole size. anyway uh #the trick is astoundingly simple. first of all i do a scale every other stitch. and i do a half double crochet (usa terms)#and i do them every row. the half double seems to get me the height i want and work up pretty quick without getting too crowded #and then: get this. you just do the increases like normal. while still doing a scale every other stitch. and its just.....fine?#crazy shit #i was wayyy overthinking it and struggling

99% of the stuff I post is entirely digital! But if I had an A3 scanner and light table I would probably do more combined stuff because I love how it looks, as you can see ^^

#I super love the hint of blue guidelines and thin pencil lineart it’s just ❤️❤️#especially in backgrounds #I prefer drawing on A3 instead if A4 because I can get more detail in and it just looks a little neater once scaled down #and it’s the size we use at work so it’s what I’m used to #only problem is that I can’t find the prismacolor colerase pencils in sweden!! they have to be imported from denmark boo #and you kind of need an electrical pencil sharpener but the normal ones are baaaaad so I need to import a professional one from the factory #even more boo

a lot of “”affordable”” housing is for families. i could probably live in a trailer but i don’t need three bedrooms yknow

Cons: Restricted to silent words, never able to truly communicate the beauty of a landscape, the emotion in an expression, the serene sound of a bird's song, the tone of voice with which a line is spoken

Pros:

#original #i've put over 10000 words on my neocities site and yet not even a single megabyte #i could store my life's work on a floppy disk #the only files in my stories folder that are over 50 KB are .odt files which i don't use anymore #my big stories (CH and RTR) would be probably over 100 KB in pure .txt form but that just proves the point because 100 KB is nothing #100 KB is the size of a meme in .jpg #plaintext is so so tiny that even my biggest works are barely a speck #storing every individual letter instead of every individual pixel is so much more space efficient #and between hyper-efficient storage and the use of keyboards the digital era is the best time to be a writer #WAIT ACTUALLY #on my neocities i have a jpg of my paper robot battle game and it's over 100 KB #i made the paper robots in an afternoon and scaled the photo way down specifically to save space and it's still massive #oh wait wtf i just copy+pasted Childish Harmony into a txt and it's bigger than as an odt?#went from 130 KB to 200 #there must be some compression in odt that makes it more efficient for large files #but it's definitely way less efficient for small files because i tested it again with the Retired Villain short and it went from 28 KB to 9 #so good to know! use odt for big stories and txt for small ones #i wonder where the tipping point is?#oh hey i found it immediately lol it's around 15000 words or 70KB
