I don't know if you've ever talked/reflected on this but… have you ever thought about the idea of "souls" in Miraculous? I don't know, I was tormented by that a few nights ago because the very pointed and never dealt with in depth situation with the senti.

Obviously Felix thinks that they are ALL sentient creatures that deserve to live and "undoing" is equivalent to living but even writing this I'm talking about "creatures" not people which also means that I myself have a bias that the more human, the more "real" I see them.

Of course GabNat don't see them as more than tools but they very obviously think differently from the particular case of *Adrien* so I have to wonder if for them "intention" is what makes Adrien different, endowed with a soul so to speak. And LB is the heroine, in theory the bastion of morality, but, if I'm not mistaken, there is only one case in which she treat a senti as if they were a person worthy of having their own free will and they are sentibug, after that we have others (I'm thinking of sentibubble) and (although I understand that they had no way of freeing them and they have to stop them) they also don't spend a moment reflecting that they could be just as dignified.

I don't know, just all these mixed up ideas of what makes them "real" beyond a construct and that Felix thinks the mere idea of creation is enough, while the villains seem to think there are "exceptions" and I don't have no idea what the parameter of the heroine or Kagami for that matter would be.

OK, so I clicked publish before I even got a chance to write anything. Because I’m a genius. Anon I’m so sorry.

ANYWAYS you raise an excellent question, so I’m going to try my best to put my thoughts in order! 🦚

First of all, it seems Thomas Astruc himself differentiates between “human” Sentibeings and others:

Which seems to imply different levels of sentience: for instance, Adrien is no different from any regular child, while Feast exhibits behaviours that are closer to an animal’s. Not that it makes abusing or destroying him acceptable in any way, but I don’t think we’re supposed to feel as much towards him as towards the Sentikids.

(I do. I feel all the feels for Feast. Feast is my baby boy and I will never stop mourning him.)

If intent is truly what determines a Senti’s level of sentience, then this raises many questions as to which ones were created with that objective in mind. And interestingly, it doesn’t actually seem to be tied to whether they look “human” or not.

Sentibug is the first Sentibeing that is explicitly shown to have a soul of her own. Mayura wanted her to be a perfect copy of Ladybug, and that backfired the second she got a hold of her own amok; she shares the heroine’s strong sense of justice, and immediately sided with her at the cost of her life.

What does it mean for humanoid Sentis that were created after S3? Specifically, Senti-Gabriel and Senti-Bubbler? As far as I recall, they don’t get a chance to speak for themselves and express their own identity. If they were to be freed, would they act of their own volition or model their behaviour after their human counterpart? What would that mean for Felix, who was created out of jealousy over Adrien? Would Shadowmoth be able to create Sentibeings who simply look human, but are only granted a “lower” level of sentience to avoid a repeat of the Sentibug debacle?

The more I’m writing, the more I hate the idea of nitpicking sentience levels. It feels like the exact same logic Gabriel, Tomoe or Colt would use to justify the way they (mis)treat their children.

Felix also rejects the idea of a sentience hierarchy — especially based on the Sentibeings’ appearance and ability to speak for themselves.

Strikeback looks absolutely terrifying — monstruous, even. There’s nothing remotely human about them; and yet, Felix feels heartbroken and guilty as he lets Ladybug yeet them into the Sun.

Red Moon is also scary — in a stranger, more ominous, beautiful kind of way. An important feature about her is that she is unable to speak for herself; yet Argos still calls her his sister, and it is pretty clear from the way he interacts with her that she can understand him and experience emotions just as complex as his.

From a purely doylist explanation — I think Sentis are whatever the writing team needs them to be in the moment. This was made extra clear with the creation and (probable) destruction of Once Upon A Time, so they could try something new in terms of storytelling:

The play was very fun (read: tragic), don’t get me wrong, but I feel like the writers kind of got in their own way here.

The thing is — while the delivery isn’t the most consistent or satisfactory, you can tell that there is an intent to say something through the existence and treatment of Sentibeings.

Adrien, Felix and Kagami are, or course, child abuse survivors:

But they are also extremely queer-coded:

And very likely neurodivergent:

I’m sure there’s a lot of other communities who can see themselves represented in these kids — the common thread between these demographics being that we know what it feels like to be othered.

How many queer people are being mistreated for being “too overtly gay, why can’t you just be normal about it”? Or rejected by their own community, based on arbitrary standards?

How many neurodivergent people are being treated as subhuman, simply because they do not have the capability to advocate for themselves? Or because they are disabled “in the wrong way”?

As for abuse survivors? The hard truth is that they aren’t always perfect victims, who automatically know how to behave healthily once they’re out of a bad situation — especially not when they are literal children, who have never experienced anything else in their lives. There are after-effects, wounds that might get infected if you don’t tend to them, behaviours to unlearn. And yes, the healing process can look ugly, but they deserve some grace — a chance to grow and make it right.

Oftentimes, these biases come from figures of authority who are typically seen as “progressive”, or people who have the best intentions in the world — like Ladybug, who originally failed to see Sentis as human or even just sentient, unless they looked exactly like her.

All that to say — the approach that I take when thinking or writing about Sentibeings is the same as Felix’s not taking the Once incident into consideration: that all Sentis are sentient, to the same level, until proven otherwise. Is it necessarily coherent with what has been shown on screen? Not really, but I think it’s truer to the intended message!

Ladybug

Yooo just watched the episode and i actually really like it! This might be even be my second favorite after Silencer.

It was good. amazing. brilliant. Could’ve been better for some bits but overall episode was good.

Marinette’s impact being that of Ladybug cataclysming Chat Noir because damn! Hawky’s akuma mostly comes from her class but still wow, that’s my girl.

ALSO BEST GRADES LOVE THAT FOR HER.

They really couldn’t even let marinette breathe after all of THAT, POOR MARINETTE. i never wanted to hug her as much as i do because fuck the frame-ups, the expulsion, bakery duty and having no phone privileges ALL in one morning or whatever.

THANK FOR DETECTIVE ALYA THO! Chameleon!Alya is finally redeemed. Now that’s being a friend is, believing in her and having her back. Not pushing her too much for unplanned confessions or time with Adrien when Mari clearly isn’t ready for them or wants to reject the idea just to live out your Adrienette ship.

I am also a firm believer that she wanted to take off her earrings for protection, not give it off to Hawkmoth because she turned to an akuma yet.

If Chloe has that much resolve to resist an akuma in Miraculer then in all of the events that happened without giving Marinette time to process the situation, she’d at least have the resolve to protect her miraculous in case her emotions got the best of her and turns her into an akuma.

Tikki doesn’t know that. She was in the purse, the literal akumatized object! All she knew was that Marinette was akumatized and that’s a big risk no matter what. Marinette already escaped two akumatizations before (with others to help her and also being aware of said akumas) but this was a surprise literally by the door.

Marinette probably looked surprised after the convo got cut off because it kinda gave me a “WHAT WAS THAT? That’s what it felt having a voice in my head???? I was almost an akuma???” takeaway because this is the first time an akuma got into her possession... but that’s just me. Also marinette is smarter than that. You’d think they let her sass hawky up or mess with him akumanette-style.

Stiiill. Her discussion with Tikki haunts me like Marinette really is aware of all that. She even cut tikki off, i think, like yeah i know if i turned, there’d be no ladybug. the end. we’ll lose and hawkmoth will win. You can’t tell me that she isn’t constanty pressured by the responsibility. It’s like she can’t really feel anything negative because game over.

But. I am so glad it wasn’t THAT hard on Marinette.

Chat acting dependantly was nice. Mayura too. The fight was a mess in a good way. It’s like we got Copycat parallels and few callbacks to Marinette’s sass mid-fight. She is so done with all these fakes and how she just wasn’t having it.

I LOVE SENTIBUG WTF, post mayura revealing herself away anyway. She looked so awkward and sad when Ladybug had her item and just uGH. Ladybug’s “I’M SETTING YOU FREE” just 🥺🥺🥺

And of course! ADRIEN GREW A SPINE FINALLY. I have waited for some development is this real even

Do Sentipeople Deserve To Be Treated As Human Beings?

Human Sentimonsters or "Sentipeople" have always been a very interesting topic of discussion on this blog as well as on the streets. While some believe that Human Sentimonsters are "brainless" and unworthy of human rights, others campaign for their justice. But the question still stands: Do Sentipeople deserve to be treated as Human Beings? Some may be shocked by the answer while others may be satisfied to know they were right all along.

To answer that question, let us ask a second; What exactly is a Sentimonster?

With regards to this question, The Miraculous Ladybug Wiki had the following to say:

A sentimonster is a magical being manifested from a person's emotions through the superpower of the Peacock Miraculous. They can take on a vast variety of forms and sometimes have special powers.....they can come in a very wide variety of shapes and sizes; including animals, anthropomorphic objects, extremely realistic lookalikes of people, and much more. They can be very large, towering over buildings, or very small, able to fit in the palm of one's hand. Sometimes, a Sentimonster will possess special superpowers that go beyond its anatomy and brute strength. Depending on the complexity of its creation, sentimonsters can range from basic sentience to fully sapient beings capable of complex thought. A sentimonster will obey the commands of whoever is in possession of the object containing the Amok, even if that person is an enemy of the one whose emotions the sentimonster was manifested from. If it gets ahold of its own Amokized object, then the sentimonster will be free to act of its own free will.

From this, we can conclude that a sentimonster can be whatever the holder of the peacock miraculous wants it to be. For example; If the holder of the peacock miraculous made a sentimonster of a dog, the sentimonster would be a real dog, complete with its anatomy and thought process. The only real difference between a sentimonster dog and a non-sentimonster dog is that the sentimonster dog's life force is within the amok and if the amok is destroyed, the dog will pass away. In addition to that, the dog cannot act on its own will until and unless it possesses its own amok. The same applies to human sentimonsters, they are human, capable of free will as long as they possess their amok. They deserve to be treated as human beings because there is very little difference between them and us Non-Sentipeople.

However, there is still one thing I haven't addressed; the fact that despite a sentimonster possessing its own amok, despite them having free will, the peacock miraculous holder can still "release them from existence" as in, a living sentimonster can still be killed by the holder of the peacock miraculous if they wish to regardless if they possess the amok or not. Just like Sentibug, just like Sentibubbler, just like all the Sentipeople that were killed by the holders of the peacock miraculous simply for not blindly obeying them.

This is why it is so important that the peacock miraculous is always in good hands. This is why Shadowmoth and Mayura (if she's still alive) must be defeated as soon as possible so that no more innocent Sentipeople have to die.

🚨GUYS! I THINK I JUST CAME TO A SUSPICIOUS THEORY ABOUT ZOE! A.K.A. THE NEW QUEEN BEE!🚨

Ever since we were (partially) introduced to Zoe (a.k.a. New Queen Bee) we’ve all had these theories about her from her blurry pics to her face reveal and it ranged from “Chloe in disguise” to “secret sibling” (before we found out she was legit her own person). But I’ve had this theory about her from a couple of years ago and I think she’s a sentimonster sent out for Marinette! My friend @wild-mare-of-prosecution thought so too! From Chloe’s negative feelings! Like what happened with “Sentibug” in “Ladybug”, we believe she was created by Hawk Shadow Moth to befriend Ladybug, gain her trust, make her the new Queen Bee (Vesperia in her case) and then steal it for him! You may be wondering what this has to do with Marinette since he doesn’t know she’s Ladybug? Well, I’ll explain! Ahem:

From one of the trailers for Season 4, Marinette is having a breakdown over a full plate of responsibilities now that she’s the guardian of the miracle box and is forced to distance herself from her loved ones such as her boyfriend, friends and family in order to keep it a secret which gets the girl squad upset and akumatized in a soon-to-be episode cuz of it. I don’t know if this will eventually be resolved in the end like most eps or they’ll see each other less and less as the season (or show) goes on, but here’s where Zoe comes in.

Meet Zoe! (Not sure if it’s pronounced Zoe or Zoey, but we’ll find out later). She’s gonna be the new Queen Bee (Vesperia) and befriend Marinette and is “very sweet”.......that’s it, that’s all we know of her! I’m sure we’ll get more intel when the season comes out and get to know her a lot better. As mentioned from above, some fans assumed she was a long lost or “secret sibling”, like a twin, of Chloe or Chloe herself in disguise, but no! It’s genuinely Zoe as her own person and everything. A lot of fans have pointed out that her outfit vaguely resembles Marinettes only with the color yellow and how it was suspicious. A funny thing is when fans thought it was Chloe in (paper thin) disguise (or trying and failing to be a better person to earn back her miraculous) from the blurry pics, they believed this is how Chloe thought “poor” people dressed and tried to be nice to Marinette hoping Ladybug would notice and give her back her miraculous! Lol! Any who, my friend pointed out how she also looked kinda like Alix , and then Juleka, and then it hit her! (ding)💡She looks like a mix of the whole girl squad!

She has Marinettes clothes!

They wear a white T-shirt w/ a pink flower(s) on it under a black jacket and signature color coded pants! Marinette (pink) and Zoe (yellow).

Alix’s funky shoes!

Alix wears those colored checkerboard patterns and Zoe’s are a rainbow abstract graffiti art type that Alix does in art class!

Julekas streak!

Both have it on their bangs! Juleka (purple) and Zoe (pink).

Roses sweetness!

Rose is the most sensitive, innocent and sweetest girl in school and the only personality trait we got from Zoe is that she’s “very sweet” (note the quotation marks in that. It means something suspicious).

Possibly a replacement best friend and #1 Fan to Marinette and Ladybug from Alya!

Because of the stress of superhero life combined with her new guardianship along with her school/social/love life, Marinette has no time for hang outs with Alya (and the squad) and we know how annoyed she (Alya) is with her constant weird excuses to “disappear”. Zoe might fill in that spot since she she’s the newest girl in the show and might instantly bond with Marinette and won’t mind her weird excuses and disappearances. She could also be a huge fan of Ladybug after Ladybug saves her from a sentimonster on a motorbike and there was one scene where Ladybug was giving the Fox miraculous to someone off-screen and it might be Zoe! (before the bee miraculous that is) cuz she can’t give it to Alya anymore sadly due to last seasons events.

And (not a member of the girl squad, but it’s too obvious to not lampshade) Chloe’s looks!

Blonde✅Blue Eyed✅Wear Yellow✅Have (Had) Bee Miraculous✅Nice Personality Chloe(❌) and Zoe (✅). Yeah that’s the only major difference. Could they be polar opposites to each other? Are they related? Who the f**k knows! But I’m saying she’s (Zoe) a sentimonster and my friend says she’s Chloe’s sentimonster from her anger/jealousy that Zoe will be taking her place as the new Queen Bee.

As for Mylene, well uh.............uhhhhhhh

.........they both wear headwear? (crickets chirp). Okay, so it’s a stupid reason! But I had to include Mylene in here with something! :P.

Now that I’ve explained how my friend found out Zoe is a Frankenstein’s (senti)monster mash up of the girl squad to possibly replace them all, you’re probably still wondering where all this all fits in with Marinette. Weeeeeeell, Remember “Ladybug”? Well, in that ep., Lila had done the impossible......get Marinette akumatized! She had her framed for cheating, violence and theft which got her expelled and make her and everyone else feel miserable. With all those negative feelings, it nearly got her and everyone else akumatized as a repeat of the “Heroes Day” special cuz everyone loves Marinette so much and it kills them inside that she won’t be around much like how they thought Ladybug had turned evil and killed Cat Noir (actually an illusion by Volpina) which upset everyone to get akumatized. Fortunately, Catalyst felt faint so the repeat backfired.

I’m guessing Shadow Moth is using Zoe being a sentimonster made up by him to earn her trust as much as Ladybugs to steal the bee miraculous and hand it over to him, but with Marinette, he really wants to target her since he’s failed to due so a few times and believes making her “Princess Justice” will do the trick in finally defeating Ladybug and Cat Noir to get their miraculouses. He senses how miserable and frustrated Marinette is with practically no friends, so he created Zoe to befriend her and then later when it’s revealed she’s a sentimonster, it crushes Marinette so much, that she’s still friendless, alone, betrayed and lied to, that she’ll be akumatized fully and Shadow Moth will win cuz now there’s no Ladybug to stop him and she’ll probably hand over the Ladybug miraculous to him herself! Don! Don! Don!

That’s my theory along with my friends. And now, we wait for the truth😑.

Her own doll, did she make one? Catering server mari, biker girl, oblivio mari, chat blanc line mari, sentibug, guardian are all borderline. Please, are any missing?

Biker Girl Mari depends on how widespread the fight against Feast was. If it's known that this was Ladybug and Chat Noir, and there were pictures, then it's an alternative Ladybug. If it's not widely known that Biker Girl was Ladybug, then it's more of a middle ground, where to most people Biker Girl is just Marinette, and to one person in particular Biker Girl is Ladybug.

But I think you got it all! I just checked the wiki and I'm not seeing anything in her Designs page that isn't Ladybug and that you didn't mention.

Okay, so Ladybug

Was a whole lot better than I expected, but I expected nothing to begin with, so there’s that.

Sentibug. Sweetybug. Babybug. I love her, and I will kill Mayura for poofing her.

Adrien trying to speak up for Marinette but being shut down... It ties very well into the abuse pattern Gabriel puts on him. The way he just stops immediately after that makes clear he’s kind of used to it.

Still. I feel like the writers really get off on this “Good boy suffers” angle. It looks like the writers looked at the salt from Chameleon and were like “Meh, then we show how he tries to do something, cause he’s the good guy. Everybody else is at fault, he can’t be blamed.” Also the way he bribes Lila with his friendship is far too convenient for her.

I’m not really salty about this, though, cause sacrificing his own comfort for a friend instead of doing something “agressive” to help said friend is in character, and logical for his family situation. All in all, I’m happy with his behavior.

But Chat Noir? Boy, take the hint! She’s not into you! He’s so desperate to get his feelings validated and reciprocated that he’d rather attack the Ladybug he must know to be real than the one who declares her love for him! That’s exactly what I disliked Aspik for: prioritizing his feelings over his duties! Jesus Christ, get a grip! And trying to kiss the Real Deal after Hawkmoth escaped? She literally JUST told you she likes someone else! Boiiiiii!

Props to Mayura for going solo, though. I really like her having her own will, even if she doesn’t have her own agenda yet.

Also, I’ll look forward to all the Princess Justice and Queen Varity fics that are going to flood tumblr now (I hope). Mom and Daughter wrecking havoc on Paris for Justice and Truth! Heck yeah!

Feast spoilers

Okay so here begins all my thoughts and feelings on the newest ep, from start to finish. I need to get them out there. This is just like what I did for “Ladybug”- I won’t be doing these for all the episodes, only the ones that really get my mind running. 

First things first, we get a shot of Nathalie right in the beginning, right in the center of the screen- and Jagged stone is right there. I guess that’s a tidbit of fuel for all the Jagged x Nathalie shippers out there.

Me: Tibet? That’s where Gabriel and Emilie got their miraculous. 

Okay so Alya is a BOMB reporter, okay, she’s awesome. But did it not cross her mind that this could potentially help Hawkmoth too? He undoubtedly follows the Ladyblog. If you’re going to go to these lengths, then do not publish what you have found online. Wait until you next find Ladybug and Chat Noir on patrol- THEN you can publish them for the public to see AFTER Hawkmoth has been defeated. 

“Until for some unknown reason they disappeared, and the world forgot about them” I feel like there’s a little more to that line than meets the eye- because yes, sure, Master Fu did some funky ish when he was young and it’s been 200 years since they were last heard of, however, even in 200 years you would think there would be some historical documents or something speaking of these mysterious supers that just come and go. Just...something, you know? I feel like there might have been effort to wipe out the memory of the miraculous by someone. Or maybe Im just looking to far into something that’s already been explained. 

I wonder how this lady treated Nooroo. She looks so graceful- is that her while transformed? If so I gotta say I much prefer her simple transformation to Hawkmoth’s. I dunno, I just really like this. Being able to see some of Nooroo and Plagg and Tikki’s previous holders being memorialized. I wonder if they ever have the urge to go visit museums where their previous masters are displayed- I wonder if they miss them. Or talk about them.

Me at first: Lion miraculous? Well there’s a tiger but I think that’s a longshot- 

Fu later on: The sentimonster ate other miraculous boxes

Seriously though, I love how she has become a more prominent character and actually gets shots like this. 

Also, why did she not sense the amok until she saw the statue? Does the peacock miraculous harm the wearer even if not transformed (I ask because of her reaction)

Jagged looks a bit concerned- but look at Adrien

This poor child, he doesn’t even hesitate to jump to her aid. He loves her so much. 

And the way she speaks to him here, she sounds motherly. “It’s nothing, Adrien” I think this is the first time we’ve seen them have any kind of intimate mother/son physical contact too.

And he is immediately done- he just wants her to get home where she can relax. He’s so concerned for his step-mom, it’s going to break him when he finds out who she is. Snap him right in half like a glow-stick.

“I never should have entrusted her with the miraculous” She’s actually having doubts about trusting her best friend. I’ve been there honey. 

Oof, Fu looks so terrified. And also kinda like a chipmunk. 

“Alya is an excellent journalist. Sooner or later she would have discovered this secret kept under wraps for centuries” I can’t tell if he was throwing shade or not. 

So basically, Master Fu was taken from his home from a young age by a bunch of monks saying he was chosen for a very important job. They but him through rigorous tests to train him into being a capable guardian for the miraculous and as a result of starving a sad young boy the temple got burned down. Sounds almost like they deserved it tbh.  

Also, Master Fu’s sentimonster had free will too- it had its akumatized object in one of the safest places it could have put it. It had free will like sentibug- but it was created to consume miraculous. No matter what, even if Ladybug had felt at this moment that the creature was a real living being (which it seemed just as alive as Sentibug) she would have had to have destroyed it. The difference is that THIS sentimonster was out of control, because it was made from the grief of a starving child. Sentibug was made out of love and loyalty. She didn’t have that underlying meaning of creation that led her to destroy. But this one, when given free will, did, because it was made from destructive emotions. 

Yin and yang play such a huge role in symbolism with the miraculous. Im kinda glad I chose my OC’s miraculous to be yin & yang. 

This is also how I feel when I am hungry. 

“I created a sentimonster that was very different from the one I had envisions” does that mean that the sentimonsters can latch on to whatever their creators are feeling at the moment and form around them EVEN if they didn’t intend to use the particular feeling or emotion to fuel it? Could that be part of why Sentibug turned on Mayura- she was having doubts while creating her because she knew Gabriel would have never let this happen, that she needed to stop- but she just couldn’t bring herself to? And those feelings got ingrained into Sentibug too, and when Sentibug heard “Stop Mayura and take her miraculous” those doubts resurfaced and took form as it seeming for Sentibug to have a sense of justice?

“A monk told me to run away with....and the miraculous box. The very last miraculous box.”

There are other miraculous.

So judging from the pictures and Fus story, he lost the book and two miraculous not to very far away from the temple- which means that Gabriel and Emilie travelled to one of the highest mountain-tops in Tibet. What on Earth could have made them go up there? That’s not just some sort of vacation spot. 

Look at this honeybun. Poor girl- it looks like her head’s hurting. 

Adrien seems so concerned for her- and now we know that he knows that she’s sick. I had suspected as such, because it would be very difficult to hide it because of how much time they spend together- but honestly this is just heartbreaking. 

“It’s thoughtful of you to be concerned, Adrien”

Of course he’s concerned. You’ve been around so long he probably can’t imagine life without you, you’re the one that’s been there ever since his mother disappeared, he loves you like you’re family. An empathetic and caring young boy isn’t just going to look at someone like you while sick and not get concerned. 

“Nathalie sometimes get’s dizzy spells but it’s nothing serious” Nooo Gabriel, I get dizzy spells that are nothing serious (I’ve been to the doctor for them don’t worry), I understand wanting to protect Adrien but one of these days she’s going to disappear too, and what then?

And this scene? They had a moment. He said that he didn’t need to worry, but I think he saw right through what he said, and maybe even that he was a little worried himself. The way he’s holding his eyes, he looks a little bit concerned too. 

And if you ask me, they do not look happy about lying to him. Because he should be worried. But they don’t want to put that on his shoulders- plus if they told him the truth...yeah. 

Okay so let me get this straight- now, Mayura did not create any sentimonsters in this episode, but she did wake up one that was dormant. How does a sentimonster go dormant? Considering there has been a sentimonster lingering out there dormant, we know for a fact that multiple sentimonsters can exist at one time- however, can two exist and be active at the same time, or does one have to be dormant in order for others to exist after the dormant one was created? And how did she sense the amok- was it the same way in which Gabriel sense emotions through his miraculous? And if that is the case, then does she need her miraculous to sense the amok? If so, where is she wearing it at right now? Also look at her, she’s so cute from this angle- just look at her eyes, they’re so gorgeous. That shade of blue is lovely. 

Don’t look concerned about her, Gabriel, you’re the one telling her to use the miraculous...okay yes, actually, do look concerned for her, feel guilty and take it away (I know you will, eventually, but will you honour that commitment in the finale?)

Look at that smile 

This poor kid...he’s got everything in the world but really, he just misses his mother. And now he’s getting flashbacks with Nathalie as to wht was happening with Emilie.  That’s all the proof we need, that’s the show telling us directly that the miraculous is exactly what caused Emilie to go into a coma in the first place. But then sweet plagg, coming in and making him laugh. I think it’s awesome that Plagg is so good at piano too. But its so sad that directly after such a cute scene, he gets taken away.

“Mom’s the only one who could make me laugh like that. Thank you, plagg” Sweetie pie!

“I can feel it’s yearning, Hawkmoth” and I can feel yours someone needs to give you love.

She has the power to Thanos amoks XD

“Take one step closer and I’ll take your amok away from you...you dont want me to destroy you do you?” Man, that’s brutal. She’s got to reason with it as if its an actual living thing (I’ve heard various theories as to why sentimonsters are and are not living individual beings and I just think its all very interesting)- but looking at this after knowing Ladybug and Chat Noir will come to the conclusion that they are later down the road, this episode kinda shows pretty well too that Sentimonsters could really actually be their own being. It felt almost like she was chastising a puppy. 

Wow, familyagrestefanblog was right about this- they really can be akumatized. Which...also goes along with them being conscious beings as Ladybug and Chat Noir believed. Its all so interesting. And the morals here? If this is all so then where is the morality of using the peacock miraculous at all? Eventually the sentimonster is going to be destroyed. UNLESS the reason they can be akumatized is because they’re the very embodiment of a person’s emotions. 

And did I mention that I LOVE his facial expressions in this ep? 

“Ill even give you the peacocks and mine as a bonus”

“I always honour my commitments” 

So was he not going to blackmail the thing? Or was what he told Lila also a lie? If he wasn’t going to black mail it, then is he really that willing to give up all the miraculous once he has what he wants? Which is literally just to right some wrongs and heal his wife? Low-key if that’s the case I like him a little more. 

Okay so

I’ve always had this idea on if Hawkmoth used catalyst, and akumatized one person to do some damage and draw out the hero’s then akumatized Lila with tracking abilities and put her in the middle of the fight, he could use her to find out who ladybug and chat noir were and take their miraculous in their sleep.

But also, this is so sad.  

Marinette’s first thought wasnt “Oh no, I can’t be ladybug anymore”

It was “Tikki!” 

And she was so desperate to get her back. You could see it in her face, she was so determined. Her clumsiness didn’t get in her way this time- because she was determined and focused, no nerves- she just wanted her friend back. And I liked how Wayzz was trying to convince Fu that it was a bad idea. 

So Bikerbug really just keeps her bike IN the bakery huh?

Okay, so, I really really love watching this scene- his facial expressions, the fluid movement, I quite enjoy it. And I love the way Mayura sounds when she speaks so that’s just an added bonus, but then. 

“My Dear Mayura...”

I think I forgot how to breath when he said that. I don’t think that Nathalie is gonna flip out over every little thing (like people theorizing that her heart sped up or whatnot in Ladybug when Hawkmoth landed in front of her and she got a close-up of the booty- I think there, she was more concerned with survival than that) but that? She had to have felt that. 

Adrien recognized Ladybug immediately. And Master Fu was leading Feast right through traffic. 

Me mentally: Oh hey Bananoir, how you peeling? 

“As you wish, Bugaboo~” He wants her to call him Bananoir omgosh. 

“Master look, Ladybug and Chat Noir, despite their ridiculous costumes” Oh my gosh Wayzz leave them be XD

“The guardian of the miraculous is this decrepit old man?” Honeybun there are gonna be people saying the same thing about you if you’re revealed as Hawkmoth.

& Am I the only one that really wants to see Master Fu’s transformation?

“You sure its the right time, M’lady?” Chat, please. 

Chat is not amused. 

“Keep those miraculous nice and warm for me, and enjoy the other ones, youve earned them” Either he is actually being nice to the sentimonster because it actually did its job or hes planning on blackmailing it and having Nathalie take away its amok anyway? 

“Farewell my dear Wayzz” doesn’t hold as much impact as “My dear Mayura”

“Careful what you wish for”

He’s mad cause he felt so close, when really he had just fallen into their trap. 

And she detransformed without even saying “fall my feathers”

And he rushed to her

And the way she looks at him? She is helpless. 

That is not the face of a heartless man.

1.) Now we have a shot of their official height difference minus nathalie’s heels.  2.) They are standing side by side untransformed. But Emilie is still looming over them. They seem to be equals, But Emilie is between them, behind them, watching, and much bigger than they are. Hmm...

No one related to either of these two showed up at all in the rest of the episode. Why is it so important for us to know that they were watching the broadcast that they cut to them to show us? And why go to the trouble of putting both Tsurgi’s in frame? Also note, they both have dark coverings over their eyes, whereas Gabriel and Nathalie do not. I know Kagami’s mom is blind but I wannt look a little further into it- could it be that they are going to end up allies with Gabriel, or going to Tibet and getting their own miraculous from the different wish boxes and use them for bad too? But what if their intentions are not the same as Gabriel and Nathalie’s. Neither of them have malicious intent in their search for Ladybug and Chat Noir’s miraculous- Nathalie wants to help the man she loves and Gabriel wants to fix the past/his wife. But could these two have more sinister plans? So it shows them with a dark covering over their eyes to show that their vision for the future is dark and muddled? 

Master Fu really out here thinking that that is gonna make him less recognizable. Just goes to show you that the people of Paris really are just blind. 

Oh boy, that ending though. Gabriel seems so determined right here. “And it shall be served very cold...” And he is saying all this in front of Emilie, but he is talking to Ladybug. There’s just something off about it, to me. Idk. That’s all I really have to say, if you made it this far, thanks for reading.

im still on the boat that the ml episode “Ladybug” should've been a two part episode arc

First is “Ladybug” and second is “Princess Justice” (tho i prefer the fan name “Lady Justice”)

First part is relatively the same except Marinette stays expelled and she has some resentment towards Chat Noir for not believing her about Sentibug being the fake.

Second part takes place the next day where she’s working at the bakery and watches the kids across the street get let out for lunch.

Alya comes over and tells her she’s still having trouble finding evidence.

Marinette then asks for class notes so she doesnt fall behind, but Alya is a bit hesitant. Marinette notices, and Alya tries sugarcoating “Well, as of right now you cant come back so....”

Marinette gets mad, realizing that Alya doesn’t seem to trust her anymore, and kicks Alya out.

Tikki and Marinette talk, with Tikki trying to calm her down but Marinette just lies down in bed exhausted, looking at her cork board of photos of her friends and begins to get angry.

Alya walks over to Nino and Adrien who ask her what’s wrong and she explains.

Before leaving for home, Adrien convinces Gorilla that he’s in the mood for a pastry from the bakery and won’t take long.

Adrien sneaks in the back (with Marinette’s parents’ permission) to check up on Marinette.

Meanwhile, Marinette holds up the lucky charm Adrien made for her, thinking about how no luck in the world would be enough to fix any of this mess. and she gets akumatized for real this time.

Tikki, carefully avoiding Marinette’s line of sight, frantically removes the earrings and flies out the skylight window to escape.

Adrien is at the top of the stairs when he hears her talking with Hawkmoth and witnesses her transforming into Princess Justice.

He’s about to try talking to her but she cuts him off, saying it was his idea to let Lila’s lies escalate this far, ruining her life.

Adrien is speechless, realizing the truth in that. But just as she’s about to strike him down, Hawkmoth intervenes, telling her if she gets the miraculous first, she can have free reign over Paris.

P.J. jumps up through the skylight window, leaving Adrien and Plagg alone in her room.

Plagg has to practically yell at Adrien to snap him back to the present to urge him to transform and save her.

Meanwhile, Tikki is discretely flying with the earrings in hand to Fu and explains the situation. He makes the executive decision to give the Fox and Turtle miraculous to their holders in hopes of increased numbers being able to hold P.J. off and break the akumatized object, and also steer her away from approaching this place.

he carries the miraculous box to escape gives out the Fox and Turtle miraculous in time for the two and Chat Noir to stop P.J. from making it to the room.

The three heroes fight off against P.J., Chat asking the two where Ladybug is. They tell him their kwamis told them that Ladybug’s already been affected by the akuma’s terrorizing.

The fight continues but they’re no match for P.J. because she’s a total badass let’s be real. (like, Chat knows this bc this episode takes place After Kwamibuster and he saw how Marinette worked as Multimouse)

The heroes are cornered, and just as it’s about to end in defeat, Rena calls out to Marinette and tries to talk sense into her.

It’s still for a moment, the heroes unaware of what the next move is. That is, until P.J. is struggling to pull out her lucky charm, and successfully breaks it, allowing the butterfly to fly away.

Marinette falls to her knees exhausted, with the three heroes surrounding her to make sure she’s okay.

Meanwhile, Fu is suited up with the ladybug miraculous and purifies the akuma and fixes the collateral damages while they’re distracted.

Rena and Carapace’s timers tick, and Carapace makes a dash. Rena is hesitant, but Chat reassures that he’ll take care of Marinette, allowing Rena to leave.

The couple detransform and have Trixx and Wayzz take the miraculous and fly off a direction.

Alya kisses Nino on the cheek and tells him she has to go, and Nino gives a wave as she races off to the bakery. He looks up worried, but smiles seeing Chat hopping away with Marinette in his arms.

Chat hops Marinette over to her room and places her on the bed. Marinette apologizing for the trouble she caused that day, but Chat telling her not to worry.

Before turning around, he makes a promise to help make things right, and leaves before Marinette could respond.

Marinette places her fingers to her earlobe to find the earrings missing, beginning to worry whether she gave them away to Hawkmoth or if she lost them, along with her privilege of being Ladybug.

Tikki enters the room with the earrings in hands. They hug and kiss, Tikki asking how Marinette feels. She feels bad for yelling at Alya, knowing that the stress of her double life and everything that’s happened at school spilled over and she took it out on a friend who was just trying to help.

Tikki tells Marinette it’s going to be okay, and that she and Alya will make up soon. “Your friends are willing to jump to your rescue, after all!”

Marinette voices her doubts, but Tikki tells her she spotted someone making a break for the bakery.

Moments later, Alya is let into the apartment by Sabine and rushes up to Marinette’s room and the two apologize to each other. Marinette apologizes about lashing out but Alya tells her she doesnt have to apologize because is was Alya’s fault for doubting in the first place, and that she had every right to be mad at her.

They hug it out and Alya hands Marinette her class notes and the two make plans to eat snacks while going over class work.

Meanwhile, Adrien and Lila have their talk at the photoshoot, which goes the same way as canon, ending the episode.

This episode was kind of mixed for me. I liked it for the most part, but the (Senti-)Ladynoir made me uncomfortable. We finally get Marionette's Akuma name! (Which one is it though? Verity Queen or Princess Justice? I'm assuming it's the second one.)

Sentibug is lucky she didn’t smell like wax (was sewage a more acceptable smell for her?). I think Sabine is Queen and Marinette is Princess

Maybe for Ladybug in Role Reversal, Adrien imagines Lila getting justice, and Sentibug looks like Marinette? It could reflect how Adrien sees Marinette as this great person, like a superhero. (If only he knew.)

They said Marinette couldn’t be akumatized cuz she was “too optimistic”. Well, Hawk Moth tried to akumatize her in “Zombizou”, but that didn’t work. Strike 1. He tried to do it again in “Chameleon”, but that didn’t work either. Strike 2. So what’s it gonna take to really crack this clumsy aspiring fashion designer? You’d have to be conning and manipulative enough to orchestrate something so spirit breaking to have the schools Darling akumatized. The culprit achieves this. Find out how:

*Ladybug-Ever feel like you’re being watched? Like, you sense something off, but you just can’t put your finger on it? It’s creepy. Speaking of which, that creeper is Lila Rossi. During her “excessive traveling” she’s been spying on Marinette from her window growing increasingly jealous of all the love and attention she’s been getting. Especially from Adrien. Like how he gave her her own lucky charm bracelet (“Befana”). Season 2’s finale was the last straw for her, so that’s why she came back to school to ruin Marinettes life and take all of the attention for herself (“Chameleon”). After allying with Gabriel to be close to Adrien, she’s been keeping him up to date with Adriens whereabouts and how she says Marinette is a “bad influence” on him (“Miracular”). Gabe of course is only using Lila to trigger negative emotions for akumas. (whispers) She’s getting more wicked!

Since everyone seems to love Marinette, Lila thought she could sabatoge that and make her and everyone else miserable therefore she’d have to be akumatized along with them and Hawk Moth will get his miraculouses and Lila will finally see Ladybug fall. Well, Lila still doesn’t know Gabe and Hawk Moth are one in the same, but she’s technically “allied” with him (Hawk Moth) too, so she can get rid of Ladybug. How do they pull this off? Lila frames Marinette for stealing the answers to a test making it look like she cheated, faking an injury that Marinette pushed her down the stairs and even stealing her fox necklace found in her locker. All of which she planted and made look convincing getting Marinette expelled! Damn! She’s good at being a liar and it’s getting worse!

Marinette is so devastated by all this after failing to call out Lila and with that, Hawk Moth akumatizes Natalie as Catalyst again turning him into Scarlet Moth from last seasons finale so he can akumatize another whole army using his multiple scarlet akumas! Oh sh*t! Scarlet Moth akumatizes Marinette and-WHOA! WAIT A MINUTE! IT HAPPENED!? IT ACTUALLY HAPPENED! MARINETTE DUPAIN-CHENG WAS AKUMATIZED!? HOLY SH*T SHE TOOK OFF HER MIRACULOUS! OH GOD! WE’RE DOOMED! Don! Don! Don! SAY GOOD-BYE! SAY GOOD-BYE! CUZ WE’RE ALL GONNA-Huh!? What happened to Cataylst there!? Phew! Well thank God she’s still sick from the damaged peacock miraculous otherwise it would’ve been the end of the world as we know it. STRIKE 3! YOU’RE OUTTA HERE HAWK MOTH! :P.

Unfortunately, none of this saved the fact that Marinette was still expelled. Sensing fowl play, Alya attempts to play detective and figure out who did this to her best friend. Glad to see she’s siding with Marinette again cuz I’m sure she must’ve learned from her mistakes. During that time Marinette was put under house arrest by her parents to keep her safe while Gabe takes back the peacock miraculous from Nathalie fearing for her health. Not wanting to disappoint her secret love, Nat secretly steals her miraculous to become Mayura and creates a sentimonster of her own. Hmmm, she can do that!? Wow! She creates one in the spitting image of Ladybug! Complete with voice! Oh God! This is gonna be a toughie.

It was a toughie. “Sentibug” was sooooooooooo convincing, Cat Noir actually fell for it and even sided with her over the real Ladybug! 😫 Ugh! C’mon you stupid cat! Didn’t you learn anything!? It was over a love confession and he damn well knew Ladybug loved “someone else”, but his school boy crush just overpowered it. Whomp! Whomp! Whomp! Luckily, it was only for a quick moment until he was called out on his stupidity and the dynamic duo (along with the fandom) learned something new today, sentimonsters have feelings!

Before I begin my thoughts on this, I’d like to say that this ep come out on my birthday! Sept 10! 🎉🎈Happy (Belated) Birthday🎂To Me!🎈🎉 I consider it a gift from Zagtoon and Thomas Astruc, so merci! What a treat I got from this as one of the best things about this episode was when the whole class vouched for Marinette knowing she’s a nice girl who wouldn’t steal (anything that wasn’t a smart phone) unlike how they did in “Chameleon” siding with Lila. Much better! Then there was the well calculated plan to déjà vu “Heroes Day” using Scarlet Moth and Catalyst. I could see how it would’ve gone had it not been for Nats growing health issues. From the Season 2 finale, almost everyone was akumatized cuz they were all in shock that their town heroine, Ladybug, turned evil and “killed” Cat Noir in front of ‘em (illusion by Volpina) and it almost happened again cuz the nicest girl in school, Marinette, was accused of being a criminal leaving everyone heartbroken from her expulsion cuz everyone loves Marinette as much they love Ladybug! (Lila is actually good at elaborate plans in a villainous sense). It almost happened! Marinette got akumatized! The fans were right, her akumatized form would’ve been something justice related, Princess Justice, cuz she’s a huge advocate for it and her mother too! As Verity Queen! However, we never got to see it cuz of Nats health, but it would’ve been cool. Since Marinette was taking off her miraculous, was she gonna give them to Hawk Moth or just took ‘em off before she was fully akumatized for safety? During the almost corruption, Alya and Chloe stood their ground keeping cool in case they were needed for battle (didn’t see Adrien there or even the others who already had miraculouses there, so I don’t know what went on with them). Detective Alya’s research went nowhere as she couldn’t find any evidence to back-up her friend, so it was a bust. Damn, that Lila! The debate over Cats guess on who the real Ladybug was was absolutely jarring! Guy was too blinded by his love for her to think clearly! Do what your real Lady said and LISTEN TO YOUR BRAIN YOU STUPID BANANA HAIRED CAT! Well, we can’t blame the guy, I mean, it was pretty convincing and we need to remember he’s the Heart Thinker to Ladybugs Brain Thinker. Love will be their downfall. Wait for it. Turns out, Mayura can create her own image of a sentimonster and they actually have thoughts and feelings! Their free will is just controlled by Mayura. Once Ladybug figured that out, Sentibug turned over a new leaf, but sadly was short lived as Mayura destroyed her. R.I.P. Sentibug :’(. Oh God! What is this, the 25, 915th time Cat Noir has to see Ladybug die in front of him!? First it was all those heart wrenching times in “Desperada”, then her capture in “Party Crasher” and now this! Guys gonna be traumatized, I swear. Hawk Moth made another of his rare public appeareances and this was to fight his adversaries in Mayuras defense. A little thing I liked was when Gabe woke up and realized Nathalie was out and about as Mayura and asked Nooroo why he didn’t wake him up, his excuse was “You looked so peaceful!” (Badum-tish🥁). XD! Straight outta sitcom! Hawk Moth and Ladybug have a short Mexican Standoff (he had his son right there!) before calling off the fight to escape with their partners. That was close! They almost revealed themselves there! Nat is out of commission as both Catalyst and Mayura as her health is getting worse from the damaged peacock miraculous (let’s not have another Emilie incident) and with that, they’ll figure out another way to find Master Fu (this is after “Feast”. Master Fus ep). In the end, Lila got no comeuppance sadly and instead, became Gabe’s “muse”, but Adrien put his foot down and confronted her, in all his tranquil fury, to bullsh*t her way into bringing back Marinette since she’s too good of a liar to expose (nobody messes with his “not-yet-aware” love interest). This is one of those rare moments where Adrien is pissed off! The last time we saw him this angry was in the Christmas special! It’s scary! He warned her in “Onichan” and now, she’s gonna pay! You go Adrikins! (I would’ve gone a little more tougher, but still, you did good!). “Things aren’t always what they seem” is the quote of the episode here and it plays it straight (No Marinette, it’s not for your benefit). Lila made up yet another “disease” for herself that involves lying (well, its technically true) and is saved Marinette to get her back in school. A little heads up folks, this episode is after “Cat Blanc” and “Felix” and before the big two part finale. Just lettin’ ya know there, *click* *click*.
