One of the saddest parts (to me) of Sarah’s death is the fact that every part of her that cared about her dad and her Uncle Tommy was ripped from the world. After 12 years of her growing beside them, she’s just gone without a trace because the world is in shambles, and there’s no way of retrieving any memorabilia of her from the Miller house. The watch is literally all that’s left of her besides their memories. The first episode does SUCH a good job of showing the audience how integral Sarah is to their routine. She literally wakes Joel up and makes breakfast, she teams up with Tommy to tease Joel, she allows herself to be shepherded to the Adlers’ house after school to keep Joel and the Adlers happy. She’s shown to the audience as mature, thoughtful, and independent, just by her trip into the city to repair Joel’s watch. She takes care of her dad as much as Joel takes care of her. They’re a team, and all that is lost in just a few seconds and a child dying in vain.

Here’s the thing, Elain and Lucien will be having conversations in the next book resolving their bond and Azriel and Mor will probably resolve their relationship (friendship of course). Elain and Azriel do not have other ‘love’ interests outside of these 2 characters. That’s canon, that’s what we’ve seen. Elain and Lucien have the bond therefore they need to resolve whatever will happen with them. Azriel has been pining after Mor for 500 years therefore they need to resolve and possibly fix their friendship.

There’s no other person included in these romantic situations. Elain and Azriel each have someone they need to resolve things with romantically/friendship wise and that’s Lucien and Mor. No one else. There are no other romantic connections for Elain and Azriel that we see. Again, this is canon.

Elain and Azriel have only expressed feelings for each other. Elain may have Lucien as a ‘love interest’ but from what we’ve seen she’s still uncomfortable around him and wants Azriel. Azriel had Mor as a ‘love interest’ but from what we’ve seen in acosf, he does not seem to be pining after her anymore (per Nesta’s and Cassian’s pov). Regardless, these 4 people are already in this mix. Sarah is not gonna throw in another character when we already have two other characters who are connected to Elain and Azriel.

And again, Elain and Azriel have only shown feelings for each other so far. Azriel has showed feelings for Mor in the past and that’s it. No one else. Elain has not shown feelings for Lucien. Either way, it’s canon that Azriel and Elain are interested in each other. And the only other people in this dynamic are Mor and Lucien.
