Gun training
Orabella and Pacifica were sitting with each other, Pacifica being the one to speak up and act as a guide to help ensure Orabella was properly handling a gun. "Now," she said to the young girl, "some guns give you a bit of a kick that's strong enough to actually make you hurt yourself. So, your positioning has to be on point."
"But I already know this!" Orabella whined. "I had a friend teach me to make magical bullets. Like you do! Shooting guns are easy!"
Pacifica raised an eyebrow at her. "What do you mean? When did this happen?"
"A long time ago. That's why I want to use your gun for practice!" Orabella reached out for the gun at Pacifica's side, but was held back by her arm.
"What? I don't believe you."
"Well, if you let me show you, I can prove it myself!" Looking back at her, using her magic to enhance her puppy dog eyes, Orabella tried to look as pleading as possible. She just knew she could handle a gun, and desperately wanted to see what her friend's gun was like.
Eventually, Pacifica gave in, but not entirely confident in Orabella's ability to not hurt herself. She pulled the gun away last second, as to give her one final warning. "Just wait until I get Kaipo. You can't exactly heal yourself properly if you take heavy damage from this, because magical bullet backfire is crazy powerful." With that, she finally handed the empty gun over to Orabella and walked off to find her best friend.
The little one giggled maniacally to herself as she turned the gun in her hand, already activating her magic to attune to the gun. "I can heal myself just fine!" She said smugly, already charging it up. Keeping a steady flow of magic to form the bullet, it surely enough keep a firm mold and the gun was set ablaze in a cyan smoke. She gasped at it, excited and confused about what it was doing. What better way to find out then to shoot? So, right when Pacifica was coming back with Kaipo, Orabella shot it off at them accidentally. She gasped and dropped the gun immediately.
Pacifica, who had heard the shot before seeing it, prepared to duck, but was promptly shoved backwards by Kaipo, who acted even quicker. The bullet hit them straight on, and they let out a cry as they shut their eyes closed. Pacifica gasped, jumping up immediately to catch them... but? There was no damage done. She was speechless, and her silence made Kaipo open an eye. They patted their chest. They looked over at Orabella, who looked close to tears. "Aww, Orabella. It's okay! I'm fine, see?" Kaipo said, walking over to her and giving the shaking child a hug to comfort her.
Pacifca, still in shock, went to go and pick up her gun- cyan smoke coming off of it. A million questions were running through her mind: what had Orabella done to it, how did she make a non lethal bullet, when did she learn this...
How powerful was Orabella really?
She turned to see the sniffling child cuddled up with Kaipo, who was simply stroking her hair. "Orabella... you fell first right?"
Orabella sniffled, rubbing her eyes. "Y-yeah..."
Pacifica kept humming to herself. This was really weird. Perhaps Dante would know something. "Okay. Well, we'll just say this sesh is over. I've... got to do something..." She stated, walking away and leaving her best friend to handle that situation.

So I may have been on a Miraculous Ladybug au binge...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Have Kaipo as Ladybug, under the same name. And Pacifica as Cat Noir, under the name Michi Desgraciada (which means Unlucky Cat).
If ever I actually write or draw stuff for it, it'll probably just follow the main storyline for a bit. Thus, I've gotten a Hawkmoth and Mayura drawn up~ so just y'all wait.

Oc talk time!
So for the last two years of Artfight, I drew some team themed images with my ocs. Like:
Team Bloom 2022 with Kaipo and Gwendolyn
Tumblr media
Team Werewolf 2023 with Jacky
Tumblr media
And an homage to Tales of the Borderlands that conveniently fit Steampunk vs Cyberpunk 2021 with Pacifica and Dante
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And so, I've been thinking about doing some for the earlier years! Being Team Tea 2018, Team Dream 2019, Team Sugar 2020. But the character getting this year's poster child art isssssss
Verity! In her MHA au hero fit! Of course, she'll be getting a color adjustment to properly fit Team Seafoam's palette! And probably a cute summer outfit :3

Hi hi yes so! Artfight's done so I finally did what I should have done years ago...
Relationship chart! But doing the roundabout one was way too cluttered, so I did what each person thinks of the group individually. Enjoy uwu

Kaipo: "... I gonna slap you-"
Dante: "You're gonna look at me and you're gonna tell me that I'm wrong? Am I wrong?!"
Kaipo: "It's my favorite movie!"
Dante: "She wore a crown and she came down in a bubble!"

°Oc tidbit| Names°
I always go on about how much thought i put into names. Well, here's what they mean:
Pacifica: peacemaker | Origin: Latin
Verity: truth | Origin: Latin
Kaipo: sweetheart/darling | Origin: Hawaiian
Dante: everlasting | Origin: Latin
Orabella: beautiful gold | Origin: Italian
Everard: brave boar | Origin: English
Finnick: farmland* | Origin: English*
Edgar: rich spear | Origin: English
Gen: spring | Origin: Japanese
Jackelyn/Jacky: supplanter | Origin: Hebrew/English/French
*behindthename is down, and most other sites don't have a clue as to origin, and the closest meaning is as such.
I remember when making the soul kids, i wanted names to reflect their trait, so it makes sense for Verity and Kaipo. But the others were meant to be ironic as they skewed slightly from their traits. Everard was a scaredy cat, Pacifica didn't make peace, and Dante gave up often. Orabella was just for fun.
And as for the add-on kiddos, i searched for names within their own ethnicities- meaning Gen has Japanese ancestry. Their meanings didn't have to have as much impact.
Now as for last names, in order:
P. Vazquez: (derived from) crow | Origin: Spanish
V. Royals: royal | Origin: English
K. Makana: gift (from god) | Origin: Hawaiian
D. Healy: high clearing | Origin: Irish
O&E. Cooper: barrel maker | Origin: English
F. Judd: to flow down | Origin: English/Hebrew
E. Paduch: robber* | Origin: Polish*
G. Palmeiro: (cleric who carries) palm branch | Origin: Portuguese
J. BolĂvar: riverbank | Origin: Spanish
With last names, i generally just went for names commonly used within each person's ethnicity. Pacifica and Jacky have Spanish last names, Gen is Portuguese, Kaipo is Hawaiian, Dante has an Irish last name. The others i was more free to pick their last names, because 1)white, and 2) American black. And with the second group, i made sure their last names specifically began with their traits as soul kids. BolĂvar for Bravery, Paduch for Patience, Judd for Justice, Palmeiro for Perseverance.

Most Likely to Marry Someone They Barely Met
°As voted upon by their friends xD. Some others would be "Most likely to be CEO", "Most likely to give up all their money", and "Most likely to have an unproblematic social media following".

💖 SPARKLING HEART - are they a subtle or a showy lover?
°Here, have another pic of Kaipo hugging Paci hehehe.
Tumblr media
°Had to go with Kaipo, even though it's a bit obvious that they are a very showy lover. They are all for tackling their friends in hugs, would give the biggest smooches, would cuddle and hold hands and always always always, make sure that the people they love know how loved they are. They'll proclaim it like it's the last time they will, because one never knows if it is. Plus, it feels nice to share the love.

And ta-da! A complete redraw of my ocs in the Zodiac Au. There's a brief explanation here, but let's delve into some lore:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
°With the Zodiac Au, there's two different plot lines, split as shown above. In the first group: Kaipo (Virgo civilian) is alarmed by Pacifica's (Scorpio rebel) sudden disappearance. They knew she'd often get into some trouble, but she had never left without an explanation as to where and why. They do some digging and encounter Dante (Cancer rebel), an undercover hacker, and beg him to help find where she had been taken. Meanwhile, at a random holding cell in one of the major Authority buildings, Pacifica finds herself face to face with Verity (Taurus authority), confused as to why she's there when she should have been dead. Turns out, Verity had managed to stop an unnecessary punishment... in favor of using her for a much darker top secret experiment, forcing Pacifica to become a part of the Authority against her will. A secret, Dante and Kaipo soon uncover.
°The second group: Finnick (Leo rebel) is the leader of a rescue rebellion group, with Jacky (Sagittarius rebel) as his right hand. She takes charge in the more physical aspects, while he is the navigator. Thousands of people get freed from their help. But it all goes downhill when Finnick sacrifices himself for the team. The two fight after a rescue attempt that gets him out, and the group gets disbanded. With no where else to go, a friend helps Finnick hide at their place, the friend being Gen's (Pisces civilian) brother. She begins to fall for him, learning about the missions and the rebellion, and decides to go seek out her friend Edgar (Gemini civilian), a civil rights spokesperson. But Edgar is adamant that she not get involved, not after he himself was branded for simply speaking up. She is now torn between two worlds, but gains courage after searching and learning what became of Jacky.
