How to Create a Structured Navigation Page on Tumblr: A Step-by-Step Guide
Introduction
Creating a navigation page helps moots stay up today on your posts, especially stories or series on your Simblr. Below are the steps I used to help me organize and create my navigation system!
What Does "Mobile-Friendly" Mean?
A mobile-friendly navigation page keeps users within their Tumblr app while they explore your links. This ensures a smooth user experience for those primarily using Tumblr on mobile devices. To achieve this: - Use links that are generated within the Tumblr app or dashboard viewer. - Avoid using direct URL links from a web browser, as they may redirect mobile users from the Tumblr app. - You can test the links yourself on the Tumblr app to make sure they open correctly without redirecting out of the app.
Step 1: Planning Your Content
Before creating your page, plan the content and sections you want to include. Think about categories like:
Household stories
Series updates
Character profiles
FAQs
Gameplay guides
Mods and CC (Custom Content)
Step 2: Pinning Your Main Navigation Post
To ensure that your navigation is the first thing visitors see, you can pin a post on your Tumblr blog. Here's the process:
Write Your Navigation Post: Create a post with all your navigation links and information. This post will serve as the main guide for visitors to your blog.
Pin the Post: - Open your Tumblr dashboard. - Navigate to the post you want to pin. - On the top right of the post, click the "..." (more) button. - From the dropdown menu, select "Pin this post to the top of your blog".
Set Pin Duration: Decide how long you want the post pinned.
Check Your Blog: Visit your Tumblr blog to ensure the post is pinned at the top.
By pinning your main navigation post, you make it easy for followers and visitors to understand how to explore and enjoy your content right from the start.
Step 3: Organize Your Tags
Establish a tagging system that works for you and be consistent. For example here are some of mine:
Use #the[lastname]household for family-specific posts.
Tag seasonal stories with #fall1, #winter1, etc.
Create special tags for FAQs, such as #askkaityb for questions.
Step 4: Create Hyperlinks
Transform tags into clickable links that lead to filtered content:
- Write out your tags in your blogs search bar - Click a tag, the page should change to all your post with that tag. you're going to copy the URL and hyperlink that to your navigation post (for example here what mine looks like: https://www.tumblr.com/pleasanttaleswithkaityb/tagged/pleasantview%20legacy) - Repeat for each tag you plan to use.
Step 5: Design and Layout
Make your navigation page visually appealing:
Use headers to denote different sections. Consider adding icons or images for visual interest. Keep the layout clean and readable.
Step 6: Publish and Promote
Once you’re happy with the page:
Make sure to publish or reblog your new navigation page in a post to inform your followers.
Step 7: Maintenance
Regularly check your navigation page to reflect new content and ensure all links work. Now, anytime you tag a post with your hashtags, that link's thread will automatically be updated!
Tips:
Keep your audience in mind. Use clear, descriptive titles for your links.
Update your navigation page regularly as you add new content.
Encourage feedback. Ask your followers if they find the navigation page helpful.
Feel free to customize this guide to match your blog's specifics and needs. Let me know if y'all have found any of your own tips & tricks for creating your navigation system! Happy simming!
@bambiwhims - Hope this helps :3

Panels Far, Far Way: A Week in Star Wars Comics 7-19-2017
Tumblr media
Sith apprentices and resistance ace pilots lead Marvel’s Star Wars offerings this week as Darth Maul concludes and Poe Dameron moves into a new story arc.
Star Wars: Darth Maul #5 written by Cullen Bunn and art by Luke Ross
Tumblr media
Darth Maul has always been a character whose character has been difficult to pin down. Between the silent but deadly Sith Assassin created through Ray Park in The Phantom Menace to the scheming and emotionally fraught Nightbrother delivered by Sam Witwer in the Star Wars animated series, Maul has worn multiple faces and voices throughout his years. For the most part, Cullen Bunn has done a strong job at coalescing these into a singular character through exploring a younger and more impatient Maul at the cusp of making his mark on the galactic scene.
Bunn characterizes Maul’s mostly baseless and indoctrinated quest for revenge as a mission whose central emotions are confused and perhaps misguided. Better yet, Bunn teases this revelation to Maul himself. Faced with the reality of being a potential killer of Jedi, Maul is faced with the question of whether this will actually bring him fulfillment and result makes for a surprisingly emotional and thought provoking ending to a series that to this point has mostly relied on Luke Ross’s expressive action sequences. If Bunn’s writing can be faulted anywhere here is that the use of first person narration for Maul’s inner monologue at times feels unnecessary and at odds with Maul’s physicality and dialogue. One can’t but help but feel that Bunn may have benefited from the approach that Charles Soule and Kieron Gillen have taken from writing Darth Vader in keeping a layer of distance between the reader and the villain at the narrative’s center.
Ross provides some of his best work to date here. Maul’s showdown with Eldra Kaitis is unexpectedly tension filled and smartly choreographed, even if the end result is obviously predictable. Ross has a clear eye for drawing action and some of the galaxy’s more sinister characters and even when Bunn’s script does falter Ross is more than able to carry the weight.
With the conclusion of this series, Maul has become one of the few characters in Star Wars canon to have a clear beginning, middle, and end to his narrative. While undoubtedly a horrific and violent being, Maul is painted as a tortured soul whose life lacked purpose and meaning even from his youngest days. Stolen from his mother for the Sith for a cause he may have not believed as much as he wished only to have all this taken from him and left a physically and mentally broken man, Maul had a hell of life. No wonder he’s so goddamn angry all the time.
Score: B+
Star Wars Poe Dameron #17 written by Charles Soule and art by Angel Unzueta
Tumblr media
It is impressive to see just how much Poe Dameron has evolved into an ensemble book over the last several issues. What originally was detrimentally centered around Oscar Isaac’s swaggering ace pilot due to its inability to dig deep in the character’s history and personality, Charles Soule has used the trappings of the growing conflict between the First Order, the New Republic and the Resistance to tell a sprawling narrative with an impressively diverse cast of characters.
Still plagued by a lack of resources for her resistance movement, Leia Organa uses Poe to connect with morally dubious journalist Suralinda to help win over sympathetic minds in the Republic. Meanwhile, The First Order has grown tired of Poe’s repeated interferences with their plans and has tasked the vicious Commander Malarus to torture more information out of the hapless former Intelligence Agent Terex.
Soule’s script is a busy one and much of it feels like moving various galactic chess pieces around in the at times frustratingly vague political landscape of the post-Return of the Jedi galaxy. That being said, Soule still finds ways to find intrigue and even subtly relevant political commentary amidst the space flight and subterfuge. It’s also impressive to see how Soule has managed to flesh out many of his characters, many of whom played mere cameo roles in The Force Awakens, with small ticks and quirks that make them feel more human. The fact that astromech droids purposely damage themselves rather than be saddled with Jess is a detail that is just begging to be turned into a Chris Eliopoulos back up comic. Droids Unplugged 2 anyone?
That said, Phil Noto’s presence is still sorely missed on this book. While Angel Unzueta packs a surprising amount of detail to each panel, his style’s tendency to mimic the likenesses of the actors behind the character’s to a detrimental degree. While it never reaches Salvador Larroca levels of photoreferencing, there are several panels of Poe in particular that can only be described as a puffy faced Oscar Isaac and the results are distracting.
Regardless, Soule and Unzueta have set up an intriguing and exciting storylien for Black Squadron. If we could pick up the pace and clean up some of the art goofs then we could have something truly special on our hands.

Hi! I read avout your gameplay style and really like it! I would like to play rotationally more but I also like having chaotic new relationships happening with NPCs. So I wondered: do your sims only interact with the one you created and do you regularly delete the other NPCs? Also, I am curious about your mccc settings to be able to set up mine. 👀
Hi Joy!! This was the most time-consuming for me to figure out how to manage/manipulate in my game. I think the best way to start answering your question is to define the difference between "townies" and "NPCs" in my gameplay. Townies: These are families, couples, roommates, ts4 families, and, for me, the households from Strangetown and Veronaville. They usually have a backstory of some sort. I don't typically play these households; they're there for my sims to interact with, and if I develop more interest in the townie, I may add them to the rotation. Malcom Landgraab is a great example. He originally wasn’t in my rotation. Nina became pregnant with his son. Then via random autonomy Malcolm proposed to move in. So it naturally occurred for me to add him.
I will also age up the households if my sims have any relationship with someone. Similar to "age up my friends" from ts2. I particularly do this with my households from Veronaville and Strangetown. For example when I moved in Malcom I add a few days to his life span to make it make sense for about how many days have passed for my played sims. I found a mod for this! See below!!
Additional Examples: Kaylynn Langerak and Gordon King as townies. Popular townies from ts2. NPCs: These are sims who fill specific roles in the universe, and the game must have these NPCs worldwide. Bartenders, firefighters, nurses, doctors, maids, butlers, etc. For NPCs, I use simmaddness NPCs on the gallery to fill these roles. (See more information below.) I typically don't touch these households once they're in my game. Creators @anotherplumbob - anotherplumbob's amazing save file includes townies. However, not every world is populated. This is where I used simmaddness as a resource to help populate my world. If you use this save file and don't populate the world, you will have ATROCIOUS-looking NPCs because the game will auto-populate new sims to fill the required roles. (You can also use MCCC to help minimize that impact.)
@simmaddness - simmaddness makes AMAZING remakes of tons of the sims 4 households. AND as if that wasn't enough, they also have toooooons of NPCS already grouped and made for your game, so you can always keep track of which ones are in your game. (You'll need to turn off culling using MCCC so the game doesn't start going through and delete unplayed households.) You can find simmaddness creations on the gallery: simmaddness
Mods
MCCC - ofc! What will be the easiest for me is to make a separate post with all my settings. I'll also look into getting a sims share file account and upload my settings there so y'all can download my saved settings.
Home Regions by Kuttoe - I use this mod to help keep my worlds from being overcrowded. For example- I don't want the mascot or vampires showing up in Willowbrook. This mod allows me to control who shows up where- ESPECIALLY with NPCs/townies. In fact, I can tell which townies belong to what world, and they will STAY in that world. You can also allow the townies to show up bi-directionally. So, for example, in my game, all the occults can visit each other's world freely, but they can't just pop over to Willowbrook. I also use this mod to allow my sims from Pleasantview, Strangetown, and Veronaville to interact with each other and show up in the neighborhoods. Disclaimer: I haven't figured out how to work around this, but when I use simmaddness NPCs, they don't always appear in the right town. For example, I have three bartenders NPC. Those three NPC bartenders are supposed to be used for every bar in every world. That doesn't always happen, likely due to a setting in Home Regions because I need to tell the game to allow that NPC to show up in all worlds. So, definitely play around with the settings on this. It doesn't totally reduce the number of random sims generated for me, but it does curb it significantly. When a new NPC is created, I'll try and make a note of the sim name- or just into CAS and change their name to their assigned role, and eventually, I'll move them into my NPC household. (Example: I go to a bar, a new bartender is spawned, I will edit/make a note of the bartender, and later go into world manager and move them into the bartender NPC household.)
Townie Demographics by Kuttoe - This mod works with Home Regions. It helps keep each neighborhood feeling unique and has many other cool features. townieoverhaul_lessfame by Sims4Me - This one does what I described Kuttoe's mod does. I suspect you can use both together, but you can also use either. Kuttoe's mod gives you more control over assigning townies. Whereas this mod will just manage the NPCs automatically. You can achieve that with Kuttoe's mod, too. You'll just have to play around with the settings. Side note: you'll also need Get Famous to make it work Let Friends Age Up - LitteMsSam - This will allow you to age up friends of your played sims. For example, when I aged Beau to a teenager, I could also age up Button from Veronaville without going into the household! High School More Classmates by Aramitus - I use this high school mod to set which of my townies will spawn at the school and any of the NPCs: janitor, teachers, etc. I definitely recommend watching this YouTube video as a guide to setting up.
Disclaimer: Because of Home Regions, you'll have to play around with the settings and ensure the write NPCs have access to Copperdale. I still have difficulties getting everyone to show up, so I've given up getting it to work perfectly and got it good enough for me.
Aaaand that's how I do my townies and NPCs. It can definitely be a lot to set up. Honestly, I'm still figuring this out and tweaking my neighborhoods always. (With Home Region, click on the townie and specify where you want the sim.) So don't feel like you have to have all this perfect before you start playing.

Hello! I was reading through your pinned post and your gameplay style is soooo interesting, I've always struggled with playing different households, would you be up to sharing your settings and such??
hi!! absolutely! i think the best way for me to answer this so it doesn't become overwhelming is just sharing what my game settings are. My Gameplay:
i like my gameplay to be rotational and resemble that of sims 2. in ts2, seasons would last 5 days, so it moves rather quickly between households. i follow this pattern in my gameplay, using the 7 days in the sims week. i'll do one week in a season for each household. at around 2 a.m. on Monday, i'll switch to the next household. it's recommended to switch in the middle of the night because, at that point, everyone should be home and have no weird work or school cycles. I'll also usually update NPCs/townies during that time too. additionally, in ts2, none of the households would age or progress unless you played in that household. this is where we'll need to adjust our game settings and use a mod to ensure that no households are progressing when we're not playing them.
Needed Mods:
MCCC - (needed to control story progression, autonomy, random woohoos, random try for babies, consistency in npcs, stop households from moving around. if there's interest in what my mccc settings are, let me know. that would need to be it's own glorious post) UI Cheats Extension - weerbesu (you'll need this one to reset the season, so you can get all the households through the same season)
In-game Settings:
open game > load the save file that you want to be rotational > game options > gameplay auto age (played households): active household only auto age (unplayed households): unchecked/disabled show wants & fears: on game options > environment > seasons season length: 28 days (this is flexible depending on how many households you want to rotate through. i set it to 28 days so i don't get bored playing through the same holidays. if the season changes before i finish playing through all my households, then i set it back to the beginning of that season until everyone in my rotation has played through the same season.) game options > pack settings > high school years NPC Relationship Autonomy: OFF (i originally wanted this on and found that it made my game feel a little too chaotic with sims jumping in and out of relationships, moving, etc. honestly, i still find that sometimes random ones are moving in and getting married, looking at you general buzz and bella goth but it's waaaay less frequent. world map > household manager > neighborhood stories > off
-and that's how I have my game settings to play rotationally!
thanks for asking, and happy simming!

I'm always looking to improve my sim's wants and fears. For now, I only have "Whimoverhaul" by Sims4Me installed.
I was looking at "The Hopes & Fears Mod" and "Wants&Reactions" from your mods list. Are these two compatible? And is there a reason that you prefer "Wants&Reactions" over "Whimoverhaul" (for example, more whims related to an activity)?
Hi Friend!
I love that you're diving into enhancing your Sims' wants and fears, which adds depth to gameplay! Regarding your question about mod compatibility and preferences, here's the lowdown:
Compatibility: Yes, "The Hopes & Fears Mod" and "Wants&Reactions" are compatible. I haven't had any difficulties in my own gameplay with them together. These are also probably both must-haves for my own gameplay.
Mod Preferences: When choosing between "Wants&Reactions" and "Whimoverhaul" by Sims4Me, these two mods will work together. I chose to use MissyHissy's "Custom Wants mod" and "Hopes and Fears" mod, which tend to offer a broader range of whims that are more closely tied to a Sim's current activity, mood, or life situation, over Sims4me "Whimoverhaul." This means you get a more dynamic and responsive experience, as your Sims' want to align more realistically with what's happening in their lives. They're reacting in real-time to their environment and emotions. On the other hand, "Whimoverhaul" is fantastic for a more generalized improvement to the existing whims system. It's great if you're looking for an upgrade but want to keep things closer to the base game's vibe.
Reason for Preference: My preference leans towards MissyHissy's mods mainly because of the variety and relevance of the whims it generates, as well as the inspiration they pull from the Sims 2. It feels more immersive as if the Sim's personality, desires, and interests add so much to storytelling and gameplay dynamics. "Whimoverhaul" is also a solid choice, especially if you want a more straightforward enhancement to the existing system.
In summary, it really comes down to what kind of gameplay experience you're looking for. Both mods have their merits, and it's great to experiment to see which aligns best with your style.
Hope this helps, and happy Simming!
