@aoex_anime RT'd the contents of JUMP FESTA 23 Blue Exorcist Stage Blue Exorcist is going to participate in JUMP STUDIO NEO.

The performers are as follows * Nobuhiko Okamoto (Rin Okumura) * Jun Fukuyama (Yukio Okumura) * Kana Hanazawa (Siemi Moriyama) * Eri Kitamura (Izumo Kamiki)

Usually, manga that are invited to JUMP SUPER STAGE have a high probability of having an announcement about an anime adaptation. However, Blue Exorcist was invited to JUMP STUDIO NEO, a newly established program this year. Looking at the list of other participating manga, there did not seem to be much hope for an anime adaptation.

However, today @aoex_anime RT'd it, causing a lot of surprise and upset among Blue Exorcist fanatics. Is there any big announcement?

IMO: If there is going to be a third season of anime, it will most likely be produced as a promotion for the MMORPG (ANIPLEX) that is currently under development. (A1-pictures is a subsidiary of ANIPLEX.)

It is difficult to determine whether the JUMP FESTA announcement is about the game or the anime adaptation.

Blue Exorcist Gets New TV Anime Series

Recently, the announcement for a new manga project, "Blue Exorcist," also popularly known as "Ao No Exorcist," was unveiled at Jump Festa 2023. It will be the brand new season of The Blue Exorcist, but fans are still assuming this season will be a reboot version of the anime adaptation or whether it will follow where season 1 of the anime was left off. There is anticipation yet curiosity about whether it will be back with the same plot or whether there will be a change in this new season.

To be clear, no official announcement on Twitter or the website has yet been made. But still, a promotional or teaser video is being released along with the announcement for the new season of the anime adaptation.

Many voice artists from the anime Blue Exorcist were present during the event. No doubt the event got more exciting because of that.  The few members who attended the panel were Nobuhiko Okamoto as Rin Okumura, Jun Fukuyama as Yukio Okumura, Kana Hanazawa as Shiemi Moriyama, and Eri Kitamura as Izumo Kamiki.  They shared their experience and journey of working with their fans at the event.

Synopsis

For those who need to be aware of the plot of the first season of anime, here is a basic summary of the series. The story revolves around our main protagonist, Rin Okumura, and his only twin brother, Yukio.  They soon discovered that they were sons of Satan born from humans (female). Hence, they inherit his power. But as the story progresses, Satan kills the Guardian, which causes Rin to want to kill his father and enroll at True Cross Academy, where only elite children are allowed to learn magic.

Conclusion

Well, if most fans, after the announcement of the series, come back after a year, they expect that Season 3 of the anime will be released.  But yet, an official announcement for the same still needs to be made. Shiemi Moriyama, when I first started reading Blue Exorcist I developed a certain affection for Shiemi's character and overtime I realized that it was because I saw her as a reflection of myself, she is kind, caring, selfless, rather naive, very hopeful and always, ALWAYS there for everyone, she thinks of herself last and that's just like me, I'm very emotional and very giving, I care for others so much I often times forget my own self, because of my personality I've been used and abused many times by many different people throughout my life, despite the hurt I've never ceased to be myself and a good person.

Rin Okumura, Blue Exorcist, again, the reason why I relate to Rin is because Rin is very kind, loyal, he thinks of his loved ones first, he never hesitates when it comes to helping others, he's always very supportive towards everyone, even when he doesn't feel very good himself, he also tends to keep things to himself so that he doesn't bother others with his issues, he often times feels misunderstood and even like a burden. Despite all I've previously stated he has a very lively personality, always smiling, he has a good sense of humor that he uses as a defense mechanism, he's also rather clumsy and a great cook, just like me.

Karren Von Rosewald, Tokyo Ghoul : re. I'll probably get a little bit too personal with this one... The reason why I love Karren so much is because I relate to her on a very personal level, before I met my fiancé and my daughter came along I was on a constant, relentless search for love, I had a very complicated relationship with my parents growing up, mostly my father, he was out of my life for many years (He's currently trying his best to make it up for lost time). When I was 14-15 I lived at my grandma's for over a year without either of my parents, my mom had moved away to a different country but I stayed and I felt horribly alone, I wanted to be loved so bad I searched for it where it didn't exist, I ended up in an emotionally abusive relationship with someone that did nothing but use me and abuse me for their own convenience, I knew it but I just really wanted to be loved by someone so I kept lying to myself, it drained me psychologically, I developed an eating disorder, became anemic and was very suicidal at some point, just like Karren hated herself for how masculine her body had become, I also hated mine because I didn't feel good enough, in my head I had to be better or that person would leave, stupid I know but I was just 15, overtime I became obsessed because I projected the love I wanted onto someone that couldn't give it to me... Eventually it ended and I called my mom and decided I wanted to be with her, she brought me to her, so I was back again with my mom and my brother but I was completely alone, in a country I didn't know anyone yet, I had left everything I knew behind, the little friends I had, I was also just fresh 16... I was very, very depressed for around a year, I felt lonely and nothing seemed to help or make me happy, despite how it felt I still kept pushing through and when I least expected I met my fiancé, with whom I've been for the past 5 years, he was a blessing and the good, healthy love that I needed. We all know that unlike me, sadly, Karren didn't have a good ending to her story but that's about it, I relate to her search for love, to her losing everyone, the loneliness, restarting your life somewhere new, I didn't make the decision to change my life to escape from Ghoul investigators but to escape myself, all the pain I was dealing with...

Agni, Kuroshitsuji. The reason why I relate so much with Agni is because just like me he was in search for a fresh start, a better life, he wanted to forget and move on from his past, be a new person, be true to himself. He's very selfless and is of a very nurturing nature, like a father figure, I've always been very nurturing, the mom friend, people have always come to me for comfort and support. Agni has remained good at heart despite his past, he did not resent or hate, he allowed his experiences to elevate him, make him a better person and he transformed all the hate into love, just like I have forgiven those who have hurt me, I've taken all the negativity and made it into something positive, it takes a lot of strength not to break, to remain kind and hopeful when you suffer... But just like Agni somehow I've managed to do so, Agni is also incredibly faithful and devoted to those he cares about, just like me, this is why I love and relate to his character so much, I'll always miss Agni.

shoto todoroki, My Hero Academia. I feel like I'm sort of starting to repeat myself at this point but here we go. The reason I relate with Todoroki is mainly due to his family issues, Todoroki grew up under pressure to become something his father couldn't, growing up I was constantly being compared to others, my cousins, kids of other people I didn't know because I wasn't doing as good as them, I was pushed and told I wouldn't be good enough if I didn't step up, so I forced myself and I many times broke in the process, to try and please others I hurt myself many times and I developed many trust issues... Another thing, Todoroki refusing to take help or make use of his fire quirk because it is linked to his father, my father walked out of my life when I was young and only recently he has started to come closer and try to make it up to me, it took me a while to warm up to him, to acknowledge his intentions and it wasn't easy opening up and letting him in because I was so hurt... But I'm forgiving and despite his attitude so is Todoroki... I tried to understand my father, why he did what he did, and I made peace with it... Todoroki is also very responsible, sensitive, determined and he has a certain maturity that is a little above the others his age in my opinion, because he has been through things that made him have to grow up faster, he has seen things others his age haven't and that also made him into who he is, which might make him feel slightly different and distant from others at times like I've felt... Regardless he is still caring and there for those who need him, like me :)

It was a good experience because it made me reflect upon the many characters I can somehow relate to and pinpoint the ones I absolutely see myself in and talk about it, let it out a little, thank you so much for the tag, again, it was rather therapeutical ♥

Top Five Kana Hanazawa Roles

Does anyone know whether she’s still dating Kensho Ono? I’m kind of curious now. I hope everything worked out for the both of them. If they get married, they will be an iconic seiyuu duo for sure. 

I won’t be including anime that I haven’t watched in its entirety, so that means I will be excluding Nadeko Sengoku from the Monogatari series (that means no Renai Circulation), Naho Takamiya from Orange, Akane Tsunemori from Psycho-Pass (I’ll watch that eventually), and Mayuri Shiina from Steins;Gate. And by “entirety”, I mean I have watched at least one season.

I even had to narrow down my honourable mentions. Kana Hanazawa has that many good roles. A lot of the ones I took out were either because I didn’t like the anime themselves (ex. Danganronpa’s Chiaki Nanami) or I didn’t like the characters themselves (ex. Zetsuen no Tempest’s Aika Fuwa). Actually, I didn’t like Zetsuen no Tempest at all in both characters and stories. Bones can only do so much to animate their way out of a garbage can.

Honourable Mentions (That I Have Watched)

Seryuu Ubiquitous - Akame Ga Kill

Nobody likes this character, and that’s okay. I have a soft spot for some crazy anime characters when they’re done right, so I didn’t mind her at all. Twisted as she is, I don’t think you’re supposed to like this character, but I’ve got to admit, she was a badass. Sure, she killed a lot of people, but that dog was kind of cute when it wasn’t committing a massacre. Also, she had some awesome fight scenes and a great death scene paired with it. That’s barely even a spoiler. We all knew where this anime was going. It rivals AOT with its death count. Here are “All Deaths Under 15 Minutes”.

Kougyoku Ren - Magi 

At the end of it all, she’s just a teenage girl who had a crush on a guy that didn’t like her back and was notorious for being a f***boi. That’s okay though. Here’s another badass with awesome powers that can kill a lot of people. She’s responsible for one of the most iconic moments in the series despite being a supporting character, and she has a lot of cute moments. She’s one of those girls who can make flower crowns and beat you in a fight. She’s also a princess. Here’s a video (it’s basically a compilation of her relationship with Alibaba in the anime) and here’s another with a fight scene.

Shiemi Moriyama - Ao no Exorcist

(This moment alone makes me want to watch the anime again even though it wasn’t very good)

Shiemi may not be the best character, but she’s way better than poop eyebrows (I have a feeling no one knows who I’m talking about, but she’s her classmate who’s an absolute bitch). Here are some ship moments, and here’s some brutal friendzoning.

Anri Sonohara - Durarara!! 

(She’s the girl on the right. I couldn’t just not use this gif.)

Durarara is a weirdly enjoyable random hodgepodge of random ideas put together. Her, Mikado, and Kida get stuck in a whole lot of weird stuff, but I definitely didn’t expect some of those turns. 

Natsume Tsuchimikado - Tokyo Ravens 

Okay, maybe this anime was a pile of crap from a critical perspective, but I still enjoyed it besides some of the cringy moments. I was expecting Natsume to be more of a badass, but at least she can summon a dragon, right? She also did some stuff near the end... I guess.

5. Rize Kamishiro - Tokyo Ghoul

Name a worse first date. Kaneki ended up nearly getting killed by her, but that doesn’t matter. A bunch of other shady stuff happens, and it doesn’t make sense until you read the manga. Isn’t that nice? Anyway, it’s just nice to see the insane range in this role, and even though Tokyo Ghoul (anime) is kind of dumb, at least we know there’s a good cast backing it up.

4. Kanade Tachibana - Angel Beats!!

I haven’t watched this in ages since it was one of the first anime I watched, but this role is kind of feels-worthy, so yeah, it’s going to be on the list. Sure, she has no emotion most of the time, but she’s oddly mysterious and has some things going for her. I mean, she’s one of the only characters to get proper development out of that large cast. And that last scene with her and Otonashi is known to be quite the moment.

3. Kosaki Onodera - Nisekoi 

Because casting is so important, somehow this role made it all the way up here. While I didn’t like Kouki Uchiyama being cast as Raku (I don’t like Raku as a character either), I thought Kana as Onodera was a good choice, and she did it well. I didn’t like Nisekoi. A lot of its humour was derived from Raku getting the crap beat out of him, and the romance part is just utter torture. If you’re keeping track who the “best girl” is (between Chitoge and Kosaki) I would choose Kosaki any day of the week. I would prefer not to get beat to a pulp. But at the end of the day, I still can’t believe Raku made the wrong decision.

2. Roka Shibasaki - D-Frag

Wow. Two harems back to back. You know, this one didn’t even say it was a harem, and to be fair, that’s because the majority of the series is surrounded by the game club and the comedy writing of the show. I actually liked the cast of this show, and it did make me laugh. I didn’t like the romance part of it too much because I felt like they shouldn’t have included it if they weren’t going to go beyond where they did. But Roka is still a funny character. Who knew that a loli would be the underground boss that can intimidate delinquents?

1. Shiro - Deadman Wonderland

Deadman Wonderland is not as bad as people make it out to be. Sure, there is a rough beginning that makes practically no sense, but I’m sure they explain it further in the manga somewhere. Shiro is a weirdly insane girl who just wants to be with Ganta. She may or may not have committed mass and/or serial murders, but when has that ever stopped her? Kana Hanazawa was great in this role, and I wouldn’t want to watch the dub just because I feel like the original duo (Romi Park and Kana Hanazawa) are great the way they are.

1.      Adele to Darius

Adele was just another maltreated slave girl being sold at the country market. She was sold one day to become an addition to the harem of the country’s King of Cruelty. Rumor has it that the once the King takes a slave girl for the night, he then executes her in the morning. Girl Gun Lady 4

Koharu had invited all 3 other teams to propose no killing, but only Bravo shows up. Rin refuses to listen, insisting she'll win by killing, but Aoi looks much more hesitant. The Alpha's says they won't shoot in survival just get turf. Matsuko, after confirming it isn't Alice's idea, says she will make them shoot. Eventually Matsuko says they'll agree if Charlie and Delta do.

Ichika, and Charlie in general, don't trust that Bravo won't take advantage of the Blast Girl Gun, but on hearing Matsuko's words from Koharu say they'll consider it if Delta agree. Rei claims that Delta's dark reputation is all due to Daisy, that up until now they've been too scared of her to not do as she says, but Koharu has inspired them to agree. For the first time I a long time Koharu goes to Matsuko's, where she's working on making the Blast Girl Gun look as good as possible. With Koharu's assurance that Charlie and Delta won't shoot, she promises Bravo won't either, but if anyone breaks the agreement she'll consider them all fair game. Matsuko says Koharu takes the Girl Gun Fight too lightly.

It was at this point I realised Matsuko had already been in the Girl Gun Fight. And won.

Matsuko's mother asks Koharu if she has been having trouble recently, as she seems like a different person sometimes, and we see from flashback that even less than 2 years ago, when they started high school, Matsuko was still good friends with her.

The Girl Gun Fight resumes. 30 minutes, 4 way survival, if you die your own kills aren't counted. As the Lady Commanders explain, each team's members silently nod too eachother. Natsuna can see Akiho thinks it won't work, and admits Koharu probably isn't 100% convinced it will either.

Charlie are discussing if they'll really do it when Rei ambushes them, and they think the deal has been broken immediately, only to realise she's deliberately missing, and their over the topness means when they return fire she's long gone. As Alpha reach the battle it's clear to them that all the teams are in fact honouring the agreement, with the Lady Commanders left wondering what's happening.

Alice is the one to realise what's on when Rei misses a shot on Koharu she absolutely should have made with her Long Barrel. As the Commanders now realise as well, she has to insist it wasn't her idea. Delta gathers everyone for a party to celebrate, Matsuko outside the room listening as she went away briefly as they were being gathered. Alice is seething, Charlotte is ranting, Bianca is annoyed, but Daisy just has a sadistic grin, and Alice runs off.

With 5 minutes left, Akiho apologises to Koharu as Alice, still running, yells at Alpha to get down.

And then Rei executes Akiho on Daisy's orders. Everyone else immediately pulls guns on everyone else, a stalemate starting as Rei mocks Koharu, whose desperately shaking Akiho. The shootout begins, Futaba, Rin and Aoi take fatal hits, then when Mitsue runs Matsuko shoots her, then Natsuki, Kana, then Natsuno in the arm as she tries to get Koharu to leave, Ichika running out. Matsuko admonishes Koharu and is about to shoot when time is called.

Bravo are the clear winners, then Delta, Charlie and Alpha killed no one. Alice comes in to Koharu crying over Akiho, and does the same, blaming herself.

Koharu is desperately apologising next day. Eating out as a team next day, Koharu brings up Alice crying over Akiho, only to learn she did that for her as well, and was devastated when their previous teammate, Masami vanished. They see Moriyama leave the model shop, gossip about his crush on Hoshimiya, and while Koharu is distracted, Natsuno and Akiho head in, seeing a scrapbook on the counter showing helmet parts for Alice. The owner explains their optional parts called Girl Armour, and he's looking for rare ones by a particular designer. Matsuko pushes past Koharu, but tells her not to trust the Girl Gun Ladies.
