Mark Karminsky is said to be a rather peculiar man.
He has the ability to take morphine, doze off for a day, and then present a solution to any problem.
He is ruthless in comparison to other Inquisitors.

Walking on the Water, or Agnosticism
The one (and only) that now evades the chase of the Inquisitor Karminsky… he should just go (as always)
Residents and guests of the capital city are well aware of How It Goes with bells ringing: with bells ringing goes the Inquisitor on duty (* Civilian use of any sort of bells is prohibited on the streets)

Now that the new Bachelor post has been posted to Twitter by IPL, we have an exact English translation, which reads rather different than the one we had before. The biggest difference being that it now ends with “what does he want from Daniil and why does he lose his head?” whereas our previous translation thought that the translation was more like “and why is his head down” in reference to Daniil’s head. This is quite the important change, as it opens up so many more implications. Obviously the literal interpretation of this is that the person in the image has their head out of frame, meaning it’s cut off from the image. This, I think, could allude to the fact that we have not seen this person before or that we’ve never even heard of them. This, of course, could also allude to them not having an identity and being more of a metaphorical representation. I’m inclined to believe that this is just a person we haven’t seen before in the games, as IPL has so many names/people that we have never seen before but that we’ve heard the names of that it just seems strange to introduce an entirely new one for this mystery without outright naming them like they did with Fyodor Vitin. This, in combination with a ton of stuff from my ARG megapost, does still lead me to believe this is an unseen member of either the military or the Inquisition, perhaps even Mark Karminsky? This is supported by the stance that this person takes, which is the same that both General Block and Victor Kain have in Pathologic 2, implying a connection between the two. (Slight spoilers for P1) As we know, Aglaya has familial ties to the Kains, even setting up a base right across from them, so the inquisitorial connection seems to possibly be there.
Now as for the less literal interpretations, “loses his head” to me either implies execution or losing your temper/becoming irrationally angry or very upset. This, of course, is reminiscent of a few things. Daniil, as we know, was essentially sent to town in order to be executed for failing to curb the epidemic, being set up by the powers that be. This is also a fate shared by Aglaya and General Block. On the topic of execution, it seems to also be the fate met by our good friend Fyodor Vitin, as was discussed in the ARG megapost and also implied by the fact that he’s stopped posting, and presumably, we are now receiving new clues directly from Ice-Pick Lodge. As for the whole losing your head emotionally, it did remind me heavily of the scene in Pathologic 2 where Daniil gets drunk at Yulia’s house and raves to Artemy about his fears of being executed, comparing himself to Jesus Christ, which is a very important thing we connected to some of the clues in the Fyodor Vitin posts in the ARG Megapost. Edit: I seem to have found the Russian idiom used here. Through that link you can find what it means in English, which it seems to have four possible meanings, most of which I at least mentioned.

Ladies and Gentlemen. Raise your opera glasses and take a look at the stage. Which character is standing next to the protagonist? What does he need from Daniil and why is he bowing his head?

Unknown Pathologic Characters round 1, side B, match 8: Catchfly versus Mark Karminsky
Catchfly Origin: Pathologic (game text) Description: A girl who invented the original shmowders during the First Outbreak. Her shmowders were effective, but toxic – Catchfly herself died from shmowder-testing.
Mark Karminsky Origin: Pathologic (game text) Description: A “resolute” Inquisitor “whose lips and nails are always red with blood”. A morphine addict. Developed a red-haired fanon appearance because of roleplay forum beef from 2012.

Pathologic. Vodochka
Morning Wednesday, February 19th, on which one of them -- that is used to fight death, and to serve life -- turned out to be not that successful in murder; while the other one -- that is used to bring death with him, to take lives -- pretty successful in retrieving his own.

The last thing Daniil D. was expecting to happen is to see someone just knocking at his lab doors. :8

obsessed with the inquisitor mark karminsky subculture (in a good way!) bcs it LOOKS like the idea of red-haired karminsky comes from a post on a defunct patho roleplay forum from 2012 that goes into painstaking detail on the poster's headcanons regarding his appearance and personality, where the only reply is two posts from Tragedian (the forum moderator) saying no, your opinions suck, karminsky would be older and would not act like that. get demolished Трагик that's the only version now #lovewins
#joining this bandwagon out of spite for this moderator's mildly rude post ghfdjkg#although i WILL say he is 40-50. game needs more old people#karminsky#pathologic
