Buy Trendy Co-ord Sets for Women Online in India
It’s 2024 and the world is slowly yet steadily embracing the concept of sustainability. Consumers are now more aware about the impact their choices have on the environment and sustainable fashion is one such choice in alignment with this awareness. Achieving sustainability in your wardrobe does not have to be a daunting task; you can start by investing in timeless classics that never go out of style. This ensures maximum wearability, minimum wastage, and therefore, a better environment. Among the various fashion influences around the world, Kashmiri fashion stands out as an epitome of elegance and timelessness. So let’s dive into some timeless classics that you can get started with.
Co-ord Sets
Co-ord sets have made quite the comeback and how! The fashion staple of yesteryears has made quite the splash with various renditions being crafted under its name. Traditionally consisting of two pieces of clothing - a tunic/blouse and a pant, or a three piece set with a tunic, pant and an overcoat, co-ord sets are the epitome of style and comfort. They are versatile and can be worn anywhere, anytime given that they are styled right!
Let’s dive into the finer details of building a sustainable wardrobe with co-ord sets. We know that one co-ord set comes with two to three pieces of clothing, each of which can be worn separately as individual pieces or in combinations and permutations with other wardrobe staples.
Our co-ord sets from the A La Mode collection for example feature unique pieces that can be worn as a set, as individual pieces and in combination with a pair of jeans, culottes, shorts or pieces from other co-ord sets as well.
 1. Effortless Casual Day Out
For a laid-back and comfortable look, style your co-ord set with a pair of trendy sneakers. This piece for example features a tunic and pants in light, breathable fabrics for a relaxed feel. The colors are harmonious, creating a cohesive ensemble with unique patterns and detailing. Tousled hair and oversized sunglasses should complete this chic daytime look, perfect for casual outings, brunches, or a leisurely stroll through the park.
LOK Tip: You can pair the tunic with a pair of well fitted jeans and the pants with a tank top to create more looks.
 2. Sophisticated Attire
Transform your co-ord set into a polished and professional outfit with vibrant tones and patterns for a timeless appeal. Pair it with elegant heels and minimalistic jewelry to maintain a refined aesthetic. This co-ord set includes an overcoat you can drape over your shoulders for an extra layer of sophistication while sporting a tank top or a chic shirt. This styling option strikes the perfect balance between comfort and style, making it an ideal choice for days when you want to make a lasting impression.
LOK Tip: You can team the blazer with a bodycon dress, a pair of jeans and white tank top; and you can team your pants with a classic shirt for more styling options.
 3. Elegant Evening Ensemble
Elevate your co-ord set for an evening affair with a touch of glamor. Crafted from rich, luxurious fabrics this set is a dreamy attire to make heads turn. Pair the set with stylish heels, and accessorize with statement jewelry. This ensemble is perfect for cocktail parties, dinner dates, or any evening event where you want to exude sophistication and charm.
LOK Tip: You can sport the blouse with a saree and the skirt with a cute top for more styling options.
The key to mastering the art of styling co-ord sets and crafting a sustainable wardrobe lies in understanding the versatility of each piece. Experiment with different combinations, mix and match with other wardrobe staples, and let your creativity shine. Whether you're aiming for a casual daytime look, a polished office attire, or an elegant evening ensemble, co-ord sets from Luxuries of Kashmir offer endless possibilities for a sustainable and stylish wardrobe.

I posted some pictures of my grandmother's extensive 1940s indian embroidery reference manuals on my knitting account......caption and context under the cut:
These were written when she was about 16 or 17 and living in Pune, India in the 1940s. Her technical college taught machine and hand sewing and after she got married and moved out of the city, she used these to hold classes for other women in her village. You can see how old these are by how difficult it is for me to turn the pages 🥲
It's hard to tell in the picture but the stitch diagrams are so clear that anyone can pick them up. We didn't know these existed until we found them among her belongings last month after she passed.....i really want to scan and upload them fully somewhere.....it IS a little piece of history after all. What's really cool are the samples in here specific to Indian embroidery like the Kashida pattern. There's so much textile history in that country that not a lot of people are aware of.
My grandmother was the only crafter in my family and im lucky to have been able to talk with her about my projects as well. I made her that shawl last year and it's different gifting something to someone who has not only known how long they take, but who created little tiny sweater patterns for dolls when she was a teenager. I'm not great at sewing but finding these makes me want to try and stitch my way through her books....like a Julie and Julia thing but with embroidery I guess.....things like this should be shared! 🧡

Trick or Treat!
For you my friend.
A treat 😊
Got nothing written up sooo oc trivia we go.
My oc, Bee from The Allico Project is really good at sewing and mending things.
Part of is because she was brainwashed.
But before it all, her Nani (grandma on her mums side) taught her how.
Bee's family originates from Pakistan, from a village in Kashmir. A place known for its textiles.
And embroidery.
Which Bee's Nani was well versed in. Sewing embroidery on shawls and other clothing items throughout her life to support her family.
This style of embroidery being called Kashida embroidery.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Something she passed on to her daughter and Bee.
And while Bee doesn't remember any of this, she takes to embroidery like an old friend.
It's a skill she has ingrained into her whether she recalls it or not.

Exploring the Rich Tapestry of Indian Crafts: A Journey Through Tradition and Creativity
Tumblr media
India, a land of diverse cultures and traditions, is a treasure trove of intricate and vibrant crafts. From the bustling markets of Rajasthan to the serene backwaters of Kerala, each region of India boasts unique artistic expressions that have been passed down through generations. Indian crafts are not just about aesthetics; they are a reflection of the country's history, culture, and the skilled craftsmanship of its artisans. This article takes you on a journey through some of the most iconic Indian crafts that continue to captivate art lovers around the world.
1. Pottery: The Art of Shaping Clay
Pottery is one of the oldest crafts in India, with roots tracing back to the Indus Valley Civilization. Various regions in India have their distinctive pottery styles. For instance, the black pottery of Nizamabad, the blue pottery of Jaipur, and the terracotta pottery of West Bengal are renowned for their unique designs and techniques. Each piece of pottery is a blend of creativity and tradition, often adorned with intricate patterns and vibrant colors that tell stories of the past.
2. Textiles: Weaving Stories into Fabric
India's textile heritage is as varied as its landscape. From the luxurious silk of Banaras to the colorful Bandhani of Gujarat, each textile craft has a story to tell. The intricate embroidery of Kashmir, known as Kashida, and the fine Chikankari of Lucknow are testaments to the country's rich tradition of needlework. The handloom sarees from regions like Kanchipuram, Bengal, and Odisha are not just garments but pieces of art that showcase the weavers' skills and the cultural significance of the motifs used.
3. Woodcraft: Carving Nature's Gifts
Woodcraft is another ancient craft that has thrived in India for centuries. The intricate wood carvings of Saharanpur, the colorful toys of Channapatna, and the robust furniture of Jodhpur are some examples of India's woodcraft legacy. These pieces, often made from teak, rosewood, or sandalwood, are not just functional items but are also cherished for their artistic value. The craftsmanship involved in creating these wooden artifacts is a testament to the artisans' ability to transform a simple piece of wood into a work of art.
Tumblr media
4. Metalwork: Forging Beauty in Brass and Bronze
Metalwork in India is an art form that dates back to the era of kings and warriors. The country is famous for its brass and bronze sculptures, each crafted with precision and detailing. The Dhokra art of Bastar, characterized by its lost-wax technique, and the Bidriware of Karnataka, known for its inlay work, are prime examples of India's metalworking prowess. These pieces often depict gods, goddesses, and scenes from epics, serving both as decorative items and religious artifacts.
5. Jewelry Making: Adorning with Elegance
Indian jewelry is renowned worldwide for its elaborate designs and craftsmanship. Each region of India has its own style of jewelry making, influenced by the local culture and history. The Kundan and Meenakari jewelry of Rajasthan, the temple jewelry of Tamil Nadu, and the tribal jewelry of Northeast India are just a few examples of the country's rich jewelry-making tradition. These pieces are often made using gold, silver, and precious stones, and are worn not just for their beauty but also for their cultural and religious significance.
6. Paintings: A Canvas of Tradition
Indian paintings, whether on the walls of temples or the canvases of artists, are a reflection of the country's diverse cultural heritage. The Madhubani paintings of Bihar, the Pattachitra of Odisha, and the Tanjore paintings of Tamil Nadu are some of the most celebrated forms of Indian art. Each of these styles has its own distinct characteristics, from the use of natural dyes to the depiction of mythological stories and local folklore. These paintings are more than just visual art; they are a means of preserving and narrating India's rich cultural history.
Tumblr media
7. Carpet Weaving: Crafting Comfort
Carpet weaving in India is an age-old craft that combines utility with beauty. The Persian-style carpets of Kashmir, known for their intricate patterns and luxurious feel, are among the most famous. The Bhadohi carpets of Uttar Pradesh, often referred to as the 'Carpet City of India,' are also highly regarded for their quality and craftsmanship. Each carpet is a labor of love, with artisans spending months, sometimes years, to create a single piece that is not just a floor covering but a work of art.
8. Leatherwork: Molding Tradition
Leatherwork is another ancient craft in India, with its roots going back to the early civilizations. The leather products from Rajasthan, including the famous juttis (traditional footwear) and bags, are known for their durability and aesthetic appeal. The artisans often use vegetable dyes and hand-stitching techniques to create products that are not only functional but also environmentally friendly. The leather puppets of Andhra Pradesh, used in traditional shadow puppet shows, are another example of this versatile craft.
Conclusion
The crafts of India are a celebration of the country's diverse cultural heritage and the incredible skill of its artisans. Each craft, whether it's pottery, textiles, or jewelry making, is a testament to the creativity and ingenuity that has been nurtured over centuries. Today, as we strive to preserve these crafts in a rapidly modernizing world, it's important to recognize and support the artisans who continue to keep these traditions alive. By doing so, we not only help sustain their livelihoods but also ensure that the rich tapestry of Indian crafts continues to inspire and enchant future generations.

The Charm of Embroidery: Chic and Traditional Eid Fashion
As Eid al-Azha arrives, a joyous feast is a time of shared happiness and delectable meals. The aroma of good food fills the air, and the atmosphere is vibrant with joy. As you prepare to join the festivities, imagine the perfect formal dresses that capture the spirit of this festive event.
This year, why not embrace tradition and explore the world of embroidery to achieve an elegant and fashionable look?
A Match Made in Fashion Heaven: Traditional and Elegant
Embroidery is a fashion statement. It is a form of art and craft that has decorated more than one generation of ancestors. This exquisite work of art, using needle and thread, adds narratives to the fabric and patterns that can range from a single petal of a flower to the depiction of the regal loom. The beauty of embroidery is in the detail and individuality it brings to each item.
A Glimpse into History
This beautiful art of sewing has been an integral part of Islamic art and is used widely in royal clothing and accessories, furnishing, utensils, and items used in regular households, among other things. Old exceptional artistry such as Zari (metallic thread work), Phulkari (flower work), and Kashida (long elegant motifs) is passing from one generation to another. Every embroidered lawn suit stitch has a history and era behind it.
Current adaptations of traditional models
In the modern age, designers combine these old methods with new fashion styles to create beautiful Eid women's outfits. Wearing embroidered formal dresses is not only being loyal to one's traditions but also being aesthetically refined. Rich fabrics, intricate designs, motifs, and embroidered outfits are appropriate for any kind of Eid event, whether a close-knit family or a large-scale gathering.
Tumblr media
Embroidered Ensembles: Option For Everyone
The essence of Eid ul Azha fashion is moderation, sophistication, and sometimes even glamour. Getting dressed up is mandatory on Eid day, and embroidered outfits have become a favorite of both genders wanting to make a fashion statement.
For Women
Shalwar Kameez and Anarkalis
These are the ones who deserve appreciation for their Eid fashion. These embroidered lawn suits are beautifully embroidered and embellished, with a significant appeal from sequins and beads that give royal looks ideal for festivals. The natives are very enthusiastic about their cultural heritage and expect to see floral motifs, geometric patterns, and traditional symbols in every stitch.
Ghararas and Lehenga Cholis
For luxury pret, embroidered ghararas, and lehenga choli are ideal for those women who want a dramatic look. All these outfits are usually embellished with extremely fine zari, mirrors, chickenkari and beads to transform them into works of art that add that extra sparkle and richness to your Eid formal dresses.
Dupattas and Shawls
Never rule out a dress enhancement, such as attractive embroidery on the dupatta or shawl, in this particular case. You can wear these stylish and fabulous pieces on any occasion with a plain dress or as a set of matching attire.
Tumblr media
For Girls
Mother-Daughter Duo
You and your daughter can style yourselves in matching ensembles complimenting you left and right. Imagine both of you in bold hues adorned with extensive embroidery, creating a picture-perfect duo. Donning embroidered girls' formal dresses makes a difference and creates beautiful memories.
Tumblr media
For Men
Kurta Pajamas and Sherwanis
The embroidery trend is wholeheartedly adopted this season in men's Eid fashion. Most traditional styles are in kurta pajamas and sherwanis, which have delicate line embroidery work. They prefer to have the embroidery work with fine lines at the collar, cuffs, and hemlines.
Vests and Jackets
Embroidered vests and jackets will transform a simple kurta into outstanding attire. These articles combine classic sewing techniques with a spirit of modernity, suiting a man looking for something elegant for Eid occasions.
For Boys
Father-Son Duo
Fathers can synchronize their outfits with their sons for a memorable father-son dressing combo. For the Eid special dress, both of you can dress in kurtas with beautiful embroidery, adding an adorable aspect and making the wedding look beautiful. Whether you go for colorful outfits or use subtle pastels, getting embroidered kurtas will make the outing unique, memorable, and great fun together.
