This wardrobe choice is so, so interesting to me because we always see Veer wear solid colors or bomber jackets - this is probably the first time there’s a print on his clothes and the choice is no coincidence - it’s so telling in terms of where his story is headed. The Manzoors may be trying to hide their identity as Kashmiris - something Veer found out about but kept it to himself (which, in itself is a HUGE deal, considering who he is at this point in the story) - but Veer’s new identity is forging around this Kashmiri girl he’s fallen in love with. Kind of in our face symbolism tbh but it’s so beautiful too? Something the Manzoors are so adamant to hide, he’s wearing it on his chest like a medal of honor.

To be honest, I don't really know much about clothing through time, especially not in different countries, but I think something interesting about Neon Glow is that each person is descended from different parts of a world that no longer exist.

It would be nice, for formal attire, to see Ari in a jodhpuri/Bandhgala, which originates from India. From what I can see, it's used for special occasions, like weddings, and has a closed-neck style. I love how these look, I can't believe this is my first time googling what they're called.

but also in general, kashmiri shawls look really comfortable, and I think that's something he would wear. I picked a couple I really liked the look of, but again I don't know the intricacies of any designs or anything like that. Yet. I wish they'd taught us more about other countries when I was doing my design degree.

April I'm on steadier ground with, he comes from Irish roots. That means he'd be just as at home in a shirt and trousers, or, for the more modern day, just any old hoodie or jeans will do, maybe some boots, it gets muddy. KERALA FISH CURRY

This recipe has been handed down by my grandmother . Everytime I make this curry it takes me back to the time my grandmother used to make it for me during my summer vacation. She starts by cleaning the fish in the area behind the kitchen , then she goes ahead with her coconut milk extraction. She always used a white cloth to squeeze out the milk from the coconut . Then , she makes sure all the ingredients needed are in the reach of her hand and starts preparing the curry . The moment she starts preparing the dish till it ends the aroma fills the house .

Serves - 6

Cooking time - 45 mins

Difficulty level - moderate

Ingredients required

Fish - 1/2kg (Recommended fishes Seerfish/Shrimp/Pearlspot)

Coconut Oil / Refined oil - 3tbsp

Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp

Fenugreek powder - 1/4 tsp

Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp

Kashmiri chilly powder - 3 tbsp

Ginger garlic paste - 2tbsp

Garcinia - 3 pieces (soaked in warm water)

Coconut milk - 1 cup (coconut powder can be used)

Salt to taste

Curry leaves - handfull

Method of preparation

Heat oil in clay pot . Preferably coconut oil as it adds to the flavor. Add mustard seeds and curry leaves . Once it crackles add ginger garlic paste , turmeric powder , chilly powder, fenugreek powder and saute till the oil separates . Add half cup of warm water to the masala along with the soaked garcina . Add salt to taste. Once it boils add the cleaned fish and cook on high flame for 3 mins. Lower the flame and cook for 20 mins till the curry has become thick . Lastly add thick cocount milk .

Serve hot with rice.

Does expensive clothes means more better than the cheap ones?

I don't know...Well what I think the best clothing for me is: which is something I can afford. Is according to my style and I can see myself wearing it in a few years! I really like y2k fashion. I mostly choose baby pink and baby blue coloured clothes. Thus my closet represents my style, my mood and how organized I am in my life! Though sometimes I must agree that when you buy an expensive piece, it would either be because you have too much money to spend or you're looking for something that is timeless. 'Fashion is timeless', can not really be justified, unless the piece is really something revolutionary and marvelous. I roamed around the stalls of Tibetan clothing market today. I felt like buying everything (they all looked GORGEOUS) but in the end I chose two cardigans. Both had a special aura about them. One of them is pink and has a really beautiful handiwork at the ends. It feels warm and cozy to wear it! Something you might wear when you're feeling bubbly. Another one is a light pistachio colour cardigan and has this kashmiri touch to it. It will feel authentic to wear a traditionally inspired piece. Old is gold.

We ended the day by having some food at a local food stall. One of the food items were cobs of corn, with a lot of masala (spices) and lemon juice, sprinkled on it. My favourite were the rice cakes and chai (tea). Feels good on a cold day to eat spicy and warm food! *teehee*.

Kashmir shawls are traditionally made either of shahtoosh or pashmina. Today, shahtoosh shawls are no longer made because of a ban on the trade of products made from the Tibetan antelope. Scholars, vendors and journalists have sometimes mistakenly used the words cashmere and pashmina synonymously but… In reality, pashmina is a particularly fine form of cashmere, so all pashmina is cashmere, but not all cashmere is pashmina. Under Babur, the Mughal khil'at was a set of clothes, which could include a turban, long coat, gown, fitted jacket, sash, shawl, trousers, shirt, and scarf. One or all of these could be made of pashmina and embroidered in gold cloth. The principal aspects of the shawl are its distinctive Kashmiri weaving technique and fine wool.
