Wanted to practice drawing fatter characters. Body types vary quite a bit when I draw some OCs, because I have trouble getting all but my pencil thin characters to look right (years of practice of a single body type, sigh). Hopefully I can nail down exactly how I want each of them to look soonish. These are at least close to how I imagine. Katsy’s legs turned out too short and Eva’s turned out too long though. It’s fine. I can leave it. I should sleep. It’s fine.

So yeah. Lots of little doodles practicing body shapes too. Got a little silly with it at the end bc i wanted to fill the page.

Babysitting

Matilda’s x Reader

Word Count: 615

You take the honour of babysitting Harley and Harper.

As the team walked into the entertainment lounge they heard the melody of “Walk the Dinosaur” through the closed door.

“Oi, who’s in there?” Hayley asked, looking around the group of girls for whoever was missing.

“Y/N was watching Harps and Harls, so I assume it’s them,” Katrina answered.

You had tweaked your hamstring in the last game so you were supposed to be resting it for the upcoming game but you raised your hand for babysitting and you were having the time of your life so were Harper and Harley.

Sam, who was leading the group opened the door as the music ended to see you and the two young girls, posing.

“Mumma!” Both of the girls screamed before running towards their mothers.

“What's going on here, Y/N?” Ellie asked with a smile on her face.

“We dance!” Harley yelled from Tameka’s arms.

“Can you show us!?” Kyra yelled from the back of the group.

Harper screamed in delight and ran up towards you, Harley following closely, both girls tugging you back towards the makeshift stage. You got onto your knees so you were level with the young girls, “Do you want me to do it with you or just help from in front?” You asked as you pretended to whisper.

The girls had agreed that you have to do it with them and so you got into your positions before you played the song from the start.

You started facing with your backs to the girls and started bopping your knees before jumping to face the front and clapping your hands above your head. The girls were eating it up, multiple of them had their phones out filming but you did not falter and held a picture perfect smile on your face, Harps and Harls copying you.

As the song built up to the chorus the three of you started popping your chests with your hands on your hips, all three of you put in 100% effort. As the chorus began you followed the steps sung though the song and you were so proud of the girls beside you for remembering all the moves.

The dance continued with the older crowd clapping and wooing before they found you once again in your finishing positions.

The small crowd that had formed cheered loudly and you bent down again to give the girls high fives.

“Thank you!” You and the girls bowed, “We’ll be here all week!” You joked.

Tameka and Katrina came up and thanked you for watching their girls as well as entertaining the team and many of the girls came up and congratulated you on your outstanding performance.

“Best dancer out there,”

“Didn’t know you were that coordinated?”

“How did you move your hips like that?”

We’re only some of the many questions and statements thrown at you. Everyone over all of the social media platforms loved the performance and the girls from Arsenal made sure to message you to borderline bully you.

“Thank you for looking after me, Y/N,” Harley came up and gave you a hug.

You pouted at the cuteness, “You're very welcome my love, thank you for being such a great dance partner.” You kissed her cheek and tickled her sides making her giggle and run away.

Before you could stand from your crouched position Harper came up and tackled you into a hug, “Thank you for teaching me dancing Y/N/N,” She gave you a kiss on the cheek.

“You are ever so welcome, lovely. You were amazing on the dance floor,” You kissed her nose and picked her up and danced with her again as someone had put on more music.

In short: in february 2024 the fandom ran a PIBE fanfic week.

@wheelsupin-azarathmetrionzinthos wrote a beautiful story about Josh and Katrina from Joust Because, based around the idea that they are platonic soulmates. Several other authors picked up the thread of the same universe, and gradually brought in more characters and ships.

Now the extended universe of Josh and Katrina, or JKEU for short, includes tens of thousands of words and characters from almost every episode of season 2. It is a beautiful and mindblowing project where the community is, collaboratively and spontaneously, creating a whole world together.

Not everything fits neatly on the same timeline, and if you would prefer to read the fics in the order they were posted you can do so in the PIBE tag on Ao3. However, if you're looking for the closest thing we can get to a Complete Timeline^tm (extremely loose) of the JKEU, it is this:

summary: now that you and colby had welcomed your child into the world, he knew it was time for the next chapter.

part two to baby blues. again, special shoutout to @brocksblueroses for the idea <3

the nine months of your pregnancy ended up being some of the hardest of your life. of course, that was to be expected, but the day your baby was born, you were over the moon. meeting your baby, your beautiful daughter, was something you'd been imagining since you'd gotten pregnant, but you were also just ready to not be pregnant anymore. 

the first few months of being parents were an adjustment, but you and colby pushed through. you and him had gotten a place of your own, ready to take on this next chapter as just the three of you. moving on top of adjusting to having a baby probably wasn't your best idea, but oh well.

the first year flew by in a flash, and before you knew it, you had a toddler that had just as much attitude as you and colby combined.  

you were up one morning, you and your daughter, melody, getting ready to go meet katrina for lunch. she was resistant to getting dressed, being as stubborn as ever, but you knew exactly how to entice her to letting you get her dressed..

"come on, mel. don't you want to go see auntie kat? i know you miss her. she misses you." you said, raising an eyebrow at her.

"auntie kat!" she cheered, finally allowing you to slip her shirt over her head.

"there we go. auntie kat's gonna be so excited to see you wearing this cute outfit she got you." you said with a smile, peppering her cheeks with kisses. once you were finally ready, you and melody made your way out into the living room, passing colby's office. his eyes flicked up from the computer screen, a wide smile on his face when he saw you on the other side of the door.

"my beautiful girls." he said softly, following you and melody to the front door. he pressed a kiss to the top of melody's head, and then to your lips.

"we'll be back in a few hours. we have lunch with kat and you know that always turns into a whole day thing with us." you laughed.

"no worries. enjoy your day. tell kat i said hi." he said, and you nodded.

"alright, we're out of here. we're already running late, since someone decided they were going to be stubborn." you said, shooting a look at your daughter, who was laughing in your arms.

"bye dada!" she waved as you and her walked out to the car.

"bye my sweets!" colby called from the porch. you got melody buckled into her carseat and you waved to colby before you climbed into the drivers seat and heading out.

once you got to the restaurant, you saw that katrina text, letting you know she was already there. you walked up to the host, who directed you to a table on the patio.

"look! who's that?" you asked, turning mel's attention to katrina at the table. 

"auntie kat!" she cheered, wiggling out of your arms and running over to katrina. you followed closely behind her, making sure she didn't hit any chairs.

"my mel mel!" katrina cheered with a big smile as she scooped her up into her arms, pressing a kiss to her cheek. melody laughed in her lap before katrina moved her to the high chair.

"i think this is her shade, no?" katrina laughed, pointing out the lip gloss stain she left.

"perfect." you laughed along with her.

you and katrina spent the entire lunch talking the hours away. you and her talked most every day, but you always had something new to share and talk about. sometimes it was about work, or your boyfriends, and gossip, as you did with most your other girlfriends.

"ugh, i miss you guys. why again did you think it was the best idea for you to move?" katrina asked.

"come on, you know as well as i do that neither you or sam want to be woken up by mel when she starts crying in the middle of the night." 

"we would've gotten used to it." she argued, but you could tell that she was lying through her teeth.

“yeah. sure.” you laughed. you and katrina sat there silently, watching melody as she ate. 

you watched her with genuine heart eyes. as much as you wished it was you you saw in your daughter, she was all her dad. she had the same round face as him (of course, coupled with her just being baby), but she had the same dark brown hair and bright blue eyes. she was the spitting image of the love of your life, but you loved it. colby was the love of your life and so was melody. 

after you exhausted your conversation topics, and once melody started getting fussy at the table, you figured it was time to end your lunch. you walked out to the parking lot, exchanging your goodbyes before going your separate ways.

once you got home, you put melody down for a nap, since she had already fallen asleep in the car. you went out into the living room and joined colby on the couch. 

“hi baby.” you said, nuzzling into his side. he wrapped his arm around you as you leaned up to press a kiss to his lips. 

“hi.” he said with a smile. “how was your lunch?” 

“good! its been a minute since katrina and i have been able to go out like that. i know we talk on the phone every day, but  it felt good to catch up in person.”

“yeah, i know with us not living together anymore the two of you don’t get as much time together as you used to.” he sighed. 

“and now that we have melody. but its okay, we make do. i think katrina is the only other person who loves that little girl as much as we do.” you laughed. 

“that’s very true.” colby laughed along with you. 

you and him cuddled on the couch for a bit while he watched whatever show he had on. you weren’t paying attention, as you were falling asleep on his chest. after a while, you heard melody waking up in her room.

“don’t worry, i got her.” colby said, moving from underneath you.

he was gone for a few minutes before melody came running into the living room without him. 

“mommy!” she cheered, climbing into your lap. 

“mel mel! where’s daddy?” you asked her. 

“mommy come!” she said, holding her hand out to you.

“where to, baby?” you asked, standing up and taking her hand in yours. she led you through the house and to the door that opened to the garage. 

“daddy prize.” she said, fumbling with the doorknob. 

“daddy has a prize out here? for me or you?” you asked her.

“mommy!” she cheered again. 

“okay, okay.” you said, picking her up. you opened the garage door and saw colby standing in the middle of the area, fairy lights strung through the shelves, rose petals sprinkled on the ground.

“what’s all this?” you asked softly, putting mel down on the floor. she ran over to colby who whispered something to her. she ran off to the other side of the room, pressing a button on something. a song then began playing, one that meant a great deal to both you and colby. as the song played, the memory of when it became your song flashed through your head.

it was the first night you spent together. about two months into your relationship, and you and him were both comfortable enough to be intimate with each other. it was one of the best nights you had together, and really solidified the two of you as a couple.

“y/n,” colby began, taking a step towards you, “the love of my life, the mother of my child. the last few years of my life have been the absolute best, thanks to you. the thought of spending the rest of my life with you has been something i’ve been looking forward to since the first time you told me you loved me. i know we’ve already talked about this, but i had to do this the right way.” he took a pause, sinking down to one knee. by this point, you were already a sobbing mess. you knew this moment was coming, but it still took you by surprise.

“colby,” you choked out through tears.

“y/n l/n, will you do me the absolute pleasure and honor of being my wife?” colby asked. you were beside yourself and could barely speak. all you could manage was to nod your head in affirmation.

“yes, of course!” you finally managed. colby laughed before slipping the engagement ring on your finger. he stood up and you pulled him into your arms, kissing him softly.

“i love you so much.” he said between kisses.

“i love you more.” you said, kissing him once more. 

“mommy sad?” melody pouted, pulling on your pant leg.

“oh, no honey.” you laughed as colby picked her up. “mommy is so very happy.”

the three of you went back into the house and sat down on the couch. colby and melody were doing their own thing, and you sat there, fiddling with the new ring that adorned your finger. the joy and happiness was overflowing in your heart, and you couldn’t help but start crying again. the image of your daughter and your now-fiancé in front of you, you were the happiest you’d ever been.

colby looked over to you, and saw that you were crying again. he shot you a concerned look, but you quickly assured that you were fine. he nodded and turned his attention back to melody.

as you watched them play, you were so happy that this was going to be your forever.

AESPA - "SUPERNOVA"

Anna Katrina Lockwood: Aespa aren't rookies anymore, and that comes across. "Supernova" sounds like it could be a SHINee single from 2008–2013, were it on the Matrix soundtrack; it's exactly what I've been hoping for from Aespa since their debut, and it's the first time I've felt like I really get what they've been going for. The synths are scribbly and cosmic simultaneously, and the often lackadaisical vibes of previous releases has been replaced by a maniacal aplomb. There are some shouty bits, as is the current trend, but they're tempered by that uniquely SM tunefulness. and backed up by the controlled and well-tuned performances. Two of our most familiar and beloved SM-associated songwriters are involved -- Kenzie and Dem Jointz -- along with Paris Alexa, who as far as I can tell has her first K-pop production credit here. I would strongly encourage the powers that be at SM to keep working with her!  [9]

Jonathan Bradley: It should be exactly the wrong point in the nostalgia cycle for anyone to be resurrecting the EDM maximalism of LMFAO’s “Sexy and I Know It,” but aespa’s “Supernova” is satisfyingly gigantic. It launches with a bass thud suitable for a blockbuster movie title card and follows it with bristling bass swells that only avoid sounding out of control because it doesn’t seem possible that they might have been controlled in the first place. [7]

Joshua Minsoo Kim: In the SM catalog, you can trace a song like “Supernova” back to f(x)’s “Red Light.” The problem for me is that despite all the fun elements, there’s no sense of release, no actual ecstasy, no goddamn hook. I’m dragged along for the ride, and it’s just the same self-serious melodies and whirring synths we’ve come to expect. The epicness is tiresome. [3]

Iain Mew: The bass noises revving up like an incomprehensible machine and the group strutting forward with purpose keep everything through to the first post-chorus escalating perfectly. From there they add a lot of stuff that ought to work as thrilling expansions, not least the gorgeous digital rain of synths, but the switch is a bit too hard, too fast. The song loses something without the single-mindedness. [6]

Taylor Alatorre: The smile that crept across my face when the bass-heavy rap breakdown got flipped into a "Planet Rock" sample -- sometimes life's simple pleasures really are all you need. Aside from that moment of dimension-hopping, "Supernova" is fully content to play around in the expansive yet finite limits that it sets for itself, guided only by its mission to recreate the scintillating highs of K-pop's second generation while avoiding the chintzier pratfalls. There's no attempt at transcendence here, and if any shedding of old identities has occurred, it's evident only in the external branding. But why let that stop you from enjoying the way Ningning punches her way through "bring the light of a dying star" as she crests the wave of that brain-tickling synth line? [8]

Ian Mathers: Finally, a song using supernova imagery that actually understands that a supernova is a dying star (to the point of explicitly calling it out in the lyrics). Would love if this were even more crunchy and compressed throughout (you know, really lean into it, like the way the vocal processing sometimes goes a bit wild on "nova"), but this is solid. [7]

                               katrina   found   herself   on   the   cusp   of   retreating   to   the   sanctuary   of   her   own   abode,   a   bastion   against   the   outside   world,   when   the   demon's   voice   sliced   through   the   air,   piercing   her   resolve.   it   was   a   rare   occurrence   for   the   siren   to   indulge   the   presence   of   the   male   before   her.   most   days,   she   dismissed   him   as   a   mere   nuisance,   a   tiresome   figure   whose   sole   interest   in   her   seemed   rooted   in   conquest,   a   notion   she   found   distasteful   given   her   apathy   towards   him.   yet,   on   days   when   she   craved   validation,   she   begrudgingly   entertained   his   advances.   today   happened   to   be   one   of   those   days,   and   she   braced   herself   for   the   inevitable   smugness   that   awaited   her   gaze.

                               when   one   gave   jitae   an   inch,   he   always   sought   to   seize   a   yard.   his   request   was   nothing   short   of   laughable.   as   if   she   would   ever   offer   him   anything   as   intimate   as   her   lips.   thus,   she   leaned   casually   against   the   threshold   of   her   home,   her   eyes   devoid   of   emotion,   weary   from   the   charade   she   had   played   along   with   for   the   day.

                               ❛⠀⠀hm   -   gonna   miss   me?⠀⠀❜    her   rosy   lips   curved   upward   in   a   coy   manner,   her   eyes   sparkling   with   feigned   interest   as   she   tilted   her   head   in   a   manner   she   knew   men   fell   for   like   idiots.   exuding   an   air   of   innocence   and   playfulness,   she   posed   her   question   with   a   flutter   of   thick   lashes,   her   words   dripping   with   a   saccharine   melody   that   belied   the   sharp   edge   hidden   beneath   the   surface   as   she   arched   a   perfectly   sculpted   brow.   perhaps   katrina   was   a   touch   more   callous   towards   jitae   than   warranted,   yet   his   uncanny   resemblance   to   a   spurned   lover   left   little   room   for   anything   but   animosity   between   them.

                               despite   her   own   malicious   intent,   she   drew   nearer   to   the   hell   spawn.   halting   only   when   they   stood   mere   centimeters   apart.   rising   onto   her   tiptoes,   her   arms   snaked   around   his   neck,   drawing   him   in   closer   until   their   faces   hovered   just   breaths   apart.

                               ❛⠀⠀keep   dreaming,⠀⠀❜    she   murmured   coldly,   her   expression   instantly   feel   back   to   its   stoic   state   as   she   withdrew   with   a   mirthless   laugh.

                               ❛⠀⠀better   luck   next   time!⠀⠀❜    she   taunted,   blowing   him   a   kiss   before   slamming   the   door   shut   behind   her.

There are a few I like a lot! The first one I started learning the lyrics to was Gola, and that was purely by accident. I was just playing it on loop and suddenly realized I could sing along a little, so then I actually looked up the lyrics. It was the first song of theirs I really fell in love with.

The entire Demoni album is good, but my absolute favourites have got to be Katrina and Ne Bi Smel. The guitar riffs, the drums, the melody itself. With Kattina I intially liked the music video, which made me listen to the song more. However, the added higher end vocal lines are on point. Overall, I like the darker, heavier sound of both songs.

The one that continually wows me, though, is Metulji. The orchestral parts especially always grabs me by the emotions. How the dofferent parts blend together to create and bring out so much depth. Amazing.

Honestly, I could keep talking about their songs for a lot longer, but I think I’ll leave my absolute favourites list there. These ones are the ones I gravitate to the most.
