Scarlet leaves: The children of the ocean (Chapter 1)

It's a What if Au.

What if Lyney and Lynette were not in the Fatui, and were adopted by Kazuha and Traveled with him.

Notes

The Goodwill's Children are a group of children who run the streets of Fontaine. (They are not canon)

Lynette's nickname is Nettie and will be referred to as such through out the series.

Kazuha will be here much later on through out the chapters.

Freminet will be showing up much later through out the story.

This is not a Kazuha centric story, some chapters will focus on him, so please don't leave in my messages "Where is Kazuha?", because he's not the main character. He is a main character but not the main character.

(The title refers to there being about 3 main characters.)

Just wanted to make that clear!

Scarlet leaves AU is an Au where the fontaine twins don't join the fatui and eventually travel Teyvat with Kaedehara Kazuha and later adopted by him.

The Idea came from here!

This took me months to do and I'm happy to finally show this to you all.

Plot:

Lyney and Lynette are a pair of unfortunate children who lost their parents to disease. They try to live day by day through each paycheck by doing jobs to save up money to rebuy their house. While dealing with the orphan gang and struggling to maintain rations to live by week by week, the twins meet a certain white-haired ronin.

Let's get things started ^^

Fontaine began to calm down for the night as most began to get off work. Stores began to close as people hurried home for the night, except for a few unfortunate souls. Most children who weren't sent to the orphanage begged the streets and scavenged for food at night. Fontaine wasn't the best at monitoring and helping the children. Most went to orphanages or were picked off the streets; if they were lucky, others, in worse-case scenarios, died.

Lyney and Lynette were no exception to this.

The first few months were hell as the two began to adjust to the streets. As the government repossessed items from their home, the two were left with the clothes they had on the night their parents died. Almost too soon after they passed, everything that was eventually going to be promised to the twins was taken away from them. A few people came by and began to take things from their home. Both fought for the gifts from their parents at the time because they were confused, only to have them taken away. The people who had taken away the only memories they had of their parents shortly after that ejected them from their house. After being kicked from their house, the two wandered the streets of Fontaine that night. No one would look at them, nor would anyone have pity for the new orphans. Lyney, as the eldest, tried working various jobs to keep them afloat so that they could at least have food for tomorrow. With every ration that he brought, he found it quickly diminishing every time he brought groceries home.

"Move, you damn brats.” Lyney falls to the ground, holding his sister close to him. Looking up, he sees the group of orphan children glaring down at them. The Goodwill’s Children, an orphan gang, ran the streets of Fontaine. Their motto was to claim things from the rich and give them to everyone in "need."

Typically, when there were fresh orphans living on Fontaine's streets, they would assist anyone who was willing to help the needy for a small fee.

"So, what did you take home this week?" Someone takes Lynette's stack of food and examines it. The ragtag group of orphans were chowing down on their hard-earned food.

"Ooh, this is the good stuff, boss.” One of the members exclaimed as she quickly ate the piece of food, taking another piece. Soon enough, the others joined in, each eating up their rations as quickly as they earned them. Finishing off, they dropped the empty bag in front of them by accident.

“You’re supposed to be helping the streets, not hoarding food for yourselves.” One mentioned kicking Lynette in the leg as she fell. Lyney’s eyes met the leader, who wore a smug look. She stood over his sister, grabbing her by the hair as she went to take out a weapon. Lyney approaches as the weapon digs into her throat. The group let out a laugh as he froze in place. Another member abruptly forced him to his knees as the leader kneeled in front of him. She lifts his head so that they can make eye contact.

"Always give us a portion of your earnings from your job first the next time around, alright?" She leaned in close to his face. Her hot breath hit his cheeks as he glared up at her. She lets go of him, as she and her group make their way back down the road that they came from.

Ignoring his wounds, he gets up, rushing to attend to Lynette, who rises to her feet. She let out a deep sigh, facing her brother. Lyney frets over her appearance, causing a small laugh from her.

“Are you alright, Nettie?” Lynette brushes off her dress, getting to her feet. Walking over to their little house, she grabs a few items. A top hat, a few birds that she had caught were in small cages, and some fireworks were in hand as she made her way back towards him.

“I’m alright, Lyney. We should practice for our performance tonight.” He agrees as they pull out their hats. Lyney tries to pull something out of his top hat, only to pull out lent. Lynette works to make a pigeon disappear, only for the pigeon to fly away that she had to chase down. While his sister ran to get their assistant back, he was practicing card tricks that, over the weeks, he was able to make decent. He continued working on it, until his sister came back to their home. Her hair was disheveled, but the bird was caught in the cage. Carefully, she sat the pigeon down before approaching her brother. They continued practicing their acts for the night before making their way towards the streets. Lyney hands fidgeted with each step they took towards the area. He shakily took deep breathes in and out as his sister lightly squeezed his other empty hand. He let out the sigh he was holding in as his heart rate began to slow down, as he walked in sync with his sister.

Usually around nighttime, the crowds in Fontaine circled around Monsieur Cesar’s performances. Monsieur Caesar was Fontaine’s famed magician, known for the acts he would put on for families and the street acts he would do for the children.

Lyney watched curiously as he moved the hat to the audience, showing nothing within it. As he lowered it, Lyney saw a rabbit being pushed into the back of the hat.

“Ta da!” The hat appeared on the table as the crowd clapped. Lyney gave a smug look towards the audience who remained entranced.

`This seemed like it could be easy, maybe this isn’t as hard as Ceser makes it look?``

Lynette continues her next act with the use of small rings of fire as she jumps around for her performance. Her act mimics the ring of fire act most performers would do for their performances. She successfully passes by the last one, only for her dress to catch on fire a bit. Lynette looks in shock before going away from the crowd to put out the fire. Lyney glances towards her before continuing with his act.

The rabbit in the hat trick was one that they worked on for weeks. After many attempts, he was able to do it. “Look here—a cute white rabbit, right? I’ll make this rabbit disappear before your eyes.” He carefully put the rabbit in the hat before facing the crowd.

“Count down with me now.” He pulls a cover over the hat as the countdown gets to the last number. He pulls the hat back before revealing an empty hat to the crowd. They clap for him as he makes a small bow before re-covering the cap again. Instead of the rabbit reappearing, the hat remained empty. He looks at the top hat, surprised, before recovering it again. The crowd let out a small laugh at his mistake. When the rabbit didn’t appear, the crowd began to get confused.

"Apologies, ladies and gentlemen; there appears to be an issue.” He moves around his makeshift stage, looking for his assistant. Some people got up and began to leave his show as he ran around frantically. His anxiety creeps back in as he frantically moves things making the stage look sloppy. `It was just right here, what did it go?` He looks over on the side to see if Lynette has come back, only to see no one else but himself. He takes a small sigh before opening up his mouth to apologize to the crowd.

“Lyney.” Lynette re-entered the stage with the rabbit on her head. The crowd laughed at the silly look that she had. He let out a small sigh before greeting the audience with a more confident look. “Everyone, she did it!” He bows as they clap for his sister who hands him the rabbit. The rabbit settled in his arms as he looks over to her with a sheepish look.

“thanks, sis.” She rolls her eyes as she takes the stage once more. The two of them and the rabbit bowed as the crowd gave them some cheers. “This has been Lyney and Lynette’s magic show, we’ll see you next time.” He lights a small smoke bomb that goes off as they exit the makeshift stage. This first performance didn’t go exactly as he had planned, but at least they were able to get their names out there. The twins walk with their equipment down the small alleyway.

“How much did we earn?” She holds up the mora they received from their performances. The amount grew a bit from his little mishap towards the end. He slowly counted it over noticing that it was still not enough for food rations for a few months.

“Sorry Nettie, it looks like I won’t be able to get you that desert that you really wanted.”

“It’s fine. What’s most important is that we’re able to save up money to take back our house.” After being kicked from their own home, the person in charge told them to bring 40,000 mora to buy the house back. Lyney pleaded saying that it belongs to them and why would they take it away. The person only says that it’s business after all and that small brats like them couldn’t even think to afford to live somewhere as nice as this. Lyney was held back by Lynette that day so that he couldn’t chase after the man.

“Soon we’ll have enough, just another few 10 years.” He joked before letting out a groan as he held his hands over his face. “Adult life must be hard.” He sighs as they make their way home.

The day after, their small show began regular street performances. With each performance came its mistakes, but also gained new audience members. Their acts are what they expected to draw in people, with all the rookie mistakes, however, this has become more of a comedy show every night.

“Lynette, so I heard that you and your brother are doing magic shows at night?”

The introverted girl nods at her boss while she works on a cake that’s for delivery. Café Lutece that was known for their desserts and sweets, was where Lynette found work. As someone who always buys desserts and spends her time there, her brother suggested that finding work here would be good for her, as she gets discounts for her favorite cakes. Her work was simple and due to her looks, she helped the restaurant receive mora in return. Most would come to Café Lutuce to help the poor child who was working as hard as the adults. Some only spent so much money on the café, to "help” the poor child who came from a struggling family.

“Yes.” One of the coworkers said that she had let out a small clap for the girl. She pulls the younger girl into a hug. “You must have been very much inspired by Mr. Ceser huh?” Lynette nods as another coworker pulls her away from the girl.

“From what I heard, your acts going wrong seem to be more popular."

Her ear twitches at the comment before she lets out a small nod. A coworker pats her on the head with a bright smile. “I’m sure you’ll do well.”

“Activate chat mode. Welcome to Café Lutece, I’m Lynette. What can I get you?” She takes the order for a family that entered the café.

“Aren’t you a little too young to be working here, sweetheart?” She ignores the woman’s concern before repeating her question. Her husband looks towards Lynette with a look of pity towards her. She shrugs it off as she makes her way towards the back with the order.

Going to the next table, the pity she received dwindled down as the group of nobles looked down upon her. “Little girl, make sure you don’t mess this up. My wife would like La letter a Focalors, and I’ll have Conch Madeleine, and some tea freshly brewed from Chenyu Vale.” She stares him down before heading back into the kitchen. She hands the order over to the staff as she makes her way back to taking orders.

By time she returns to the table, she hands them the order before walking off once more. Halfway within someone's orders, she hears her name being yelled as people begin to stare in the direction of the guests whose orders she just placed down.

“This is horrendous, maid here!” The man angrily waves his hands at her as she walks over, carefully stopping a foot away from him. His wife looks at her with a look of disgust as she holds up a piece of cake.

“What is in this?” Lynette stares at her blankly. “Flour, eggs, sugar, normal ingredients.” The woman clicks her tongue as she shows her face to the cat girl. Her face swells slightly as she glares at her. Lynette pauses before walking towards the other staff. Returning to the couple, one of her co-workers took over her speaking for her and found ways to accommodate the couple to appease them. The woman’s face grew red with the more that her co-worker spoke.

“I want this girl fired, clearly she doesn’t know how to do her job.’’ She turns towards the younger girl with a smug look. Her coworker glances towards her before turning back towards the couple.

“She’s our newest employee, she still is taking some time to get used to things, please forgive her for any mistakes.” Lynette also apologizes to the couple as she makes her way back towards the other staff. “She is still learning how to navigate things.” The words they used to appease the couple only expanded the aggression.

“Whoever taught her needs to be fired as well! The cake that she brought was wrong, the tea wasn’t from Chenyu Vale like I ordered, it was cold water, it wasn’t even brewed properly!” Lynette watches the situation become more out of hand as the manager comes out and takes over. She walks back over to her other tables, handing them their orders while the situation is taken care of.

“Hey Nettie.” She enters their makeshift house, dragging her feet along the ground. Their makeshift house in an alleyway was growing more with each item added to the house. Even though the two had a place to call their own, it was nothing compared to the house that they once owned.

"Stressful day?" He finishes cooking and takes a sit next to her, offering her a bowl of food. The two dined alone, their bowls clinking softly. "Work was okay today, I suppose. I delivered a package to the wrong customer, and this lady went off on me." She remains quiet occasionally showing she's listening with an attentive nod as he reverts to silence. When they were finished, he collected the plates and placed them in a bag. "I'll go clean these tomorrow." She hastily changes into her costume as they go for their next job.

“They are so cute, trying to mimic Monsieur Ceser.” One of their wealthier patrons laughed at the cat in their performance, attacking Lyney. Lyney ran around as Lynette tried to fix the props that got knocked over. All of this causing laughter from their audience members. Lyney and Lynette received claps for their performance as they took their bows. Lynette collected tips as Lyney stuck around talking to their patrons.

“Your acts are so well Lyney.” He gives them a smile thanking them. He reaches in his hat before pulling out a boquet of Lumi Douce bells.

“My sister and I appreciate your support."

“Instead of doing magic acts, why don’t you both start a circus with the number of times that you’re acts go wrong.” The person with the person he was speaking with let out a laugh, causing a few others to laugh as well. They mock him further before making their way out of the plaza where they were performing at.

Lyney sighs grabbing a few props to pack up, when someone else called his name, he was still having a conversation with one.

"Hello, Lyney and Lynette, was it?”

A brunette man in an expensive outfit and a blonde-haired woman in expensive clothing made their way towards the two. The man standing next to her had a happy expression on his face as he looked in their direction, concealing the woman's identity and hiding her emotion.

“The two aspiring magicians, whose acts resemble the Great Magician Ceser.” Lyney looks towards his sister as she eyes them before facing him. Her expression changed to a look of discomfort before changing back to blank. Lyney faced the two with a bright smile as he spoke with the same politeness. "Good evening, dear guests; yes, Monsieur Ceser has greatly inspired my sister and I."

"Most acts that we have tried are old tricks that he used while making his debut."

The man laughs as he nods his head. "I'm surprised that you know that being that his debut was before you were both born." Lyney fidgets with his hat as the man continues talking. "Well, in order to learn, one must study everything in order to improve." He pulls out a few of Cecilia's, handing them to the woman next to him. She lets out a huff of surprise, accepting them from him. "What is that my sister and I can do for you, sir?"

“I noticed that you both were without parents. As for someone as talented and amazing as the both of you, it’s rather concerning.” Lyney notices the soft smile that the woman gives him as she lowers the fan from her face. The man grins at her sweetly as he takes her hand before continuing. “If you don’t mind, we would like to adopt you.” Lyney stared at the couple for a minute before turning to his sister. She still held a skeptical look as she eyed the couple. Facing him, she shakes her head.

"It is true; my sister and I do not have parents, but we are able to take care of ourselves. "Also, we are aware of your concern, and we are unable to go along with it." He observes that the smiles that were on their faces disappear. An attempt is made by the woman to mask her emotion by bringing the fan back to her mouth, while the husband appears to be in a state of confusion, almost as if he was unaware of being rejected.

"Are you sure?" Lyney nods as he collects the remainder of his belongings from their impromptu stage. Remaining there, the couple cast an intimidating gaze in the direction of the two individuals. Their smiles have faded as they look down at them from above, as if they were beneath them.

“Have a good night.” Lyney tips his hat towards the two as the twins make their way back to their makeshift home. Peering over his shoulder, he sees the man grit his teeth as he and the woman take their leave.

“Why were they pressuring us so much?”

“I heard that some nobles have been adopting children off the streets as of late.” Lyney looks at her in shock as she continues. “Some orphans have been offered the chance to have a better life with these noble families.” Lyney felt a pit of anxiety hit him as he compared the previous situation from just now to what she was talking about. He remembers how they froze up when they declined their help.

“Do you think that they may have been?” She nods as his voice cuts off. They walk in silence for the remainder of their trip home.

"Lyney has a new delivery for this week.” He nods, taking the pack of newspapers as he makes his way out the door of the office of The Steambird. A young woman in her 20s stood outside as he passed her a series of newspapers in the satchel that he was given. Lyney’s put on his steambird badge before making his departure. “I have more work for you when you make your way back.” She sees him off.

" that's the exchange student? " you hear whispers and whatnots around you as you walk towards your classroom. books in your arms since the teacher asked you to pick it up, first thing in the morning before heading to class.

" morning y/n, " xiao greets you as he shoves the students blocking the path inside the classroom, holding the door for you to go in, as you smiled and thank him. placing the books on your teacher's desk as you made your way over to your seat, kinich takes the empty seat next to yours.

it's a wonder, your class is so lucky to be hosting the exchange student. thank you aether for being the student exchanged in your class. you silently thank the archons and of course your dearest classmate for such exchange, heck if he's staying over forever in kinich's school and kinich stays here forever, even better! you get to admire the pretty man by your side and the one behind you is xiao. he sighs as he stares out the window.

when lunch starts, you can't help but want to ask the exchange student to eat with you. well he is new and everyone will probably go to their own friend group and chat lunch away. what you should obviously expect was the people crowding around him, asking to go with them.

xiao taps you from behind as you silently nod, determine to take kinich with you than the randos.

" hey malipo- " you whisper shout from your seat as he quickly turns his attention to you.

" kinich is fine, " he cuts you as you flush red.

" um yeah k-kinich, wanna come with me and xiao? we'll eat on the roof and well... it's quieter there. " you lean over and whisper. he gets up and apologised to the people around, telling them he wants peace and quiet and well, to say the least they obliged and left him. he follows you and xiao quietly up to the roof.

you were right, it was a lot quieter. only you guys being there, being on the roof definitely has it perks. he could see the outside of the school, there's a basketball court and he spots a red and white hair guy, definitely shorter playing the game with an indigo bowl cut hair who even had a different uniform. he's not an exchange student like him, is he? he was certain only five from his school was here and was not told any other school would be here too.

" oh! kazuha is playing with the kid from the school directly opposite us! " you gush as xiao turns to look out.

" yeah that's kunikuzushi, " kinich sits next to you, opposite xiao. you peered over when he opens his lunch box.

" what a cute bento, " you mumbled out loud, flushing once more when both males stared at you.

" my classmate made it, we're staying in the same host family, " he says as you can't help but get interested.

" that's really cute, you guys must be pretty close huh? xiao over here is my childhood friend, kazuha was in the same class as us back in first year. also I bought cookies so you both better eat up! " you shove the bag in the center.

" tasty as ever, " xiao compliments as you flash him a smile, the smile that sends his heart beating a mile a minute.

" it's good, " kinich compliments after. your pride eating at you.

" there's a little something on you, " you point at the corner of your lips as xiao looks confused at you.

" here let me just- " you swipe your hand over xiaos cheek, dusting the cookie crump off.

the bell rings after leaving you to internally scream. back to hell. class went by pretty quickly, you tried to pass paper messages to xiao and you barely got any replies back.

" hey are you doing anything after school? " you ask kinich, walking him to the shoe locker with xiao behind you.

" I don't have anything, " he responded. you look over xiao, he gives you a nod as you internally cheered.

" let's go to this cafe! me and xiao always go there whenever we're free and well it's my work place too so feel free to come whenever you want, heck please bring that classmates of yours too! I'd definitely love to meet them and- " yapping till you were out of the school gates you weren't expecting someone to whistle at you.

you stopped and stared at the source of the sound, it was coming from the road directly across you. you sigh when you see who it is.

" heyyy y/n! " sethos called you over as kunikuzushi glared at the man.

you waved as xiao quickly grabs your hand and push it back down. you look at him as he shakes his head no.

" hey I know they're from our quote on quote rival school but it's rude to not greet back, you know. " you whisper scolded, jabbing him with a finger playfully.

from kunikuzushi point of view, you looked so adorable with a hand to your waist as you scolded your little childhood friend. wait WHAT!?! he aggressively shook his head as sethos stared at him cheekily.

" listen up pipsqueak! " kunikuzushi starts only to earn a slap from behind, he scowl and turn quickly to look at the perpetrator. it was lumine, she glared daggers at him as she scolded him for calling whoever he was calling a "pipsqueak". you waved sethos a goodbye before walking away with kinich and xiao.

" what's his problem? " xiao mumbles as he takes a seat opposite you in the booth. you can't help but giggle, kinich by xiaos side feeling confused. there's definitely more to this rival school going on.

" y/n! you're here, " your fellow colleague greets whipping out her small notebook to take your order.

" helloo, " you greet with your signature smile.

" anything catches your eyes? " you ask kinich who was flipping through the menu, xiao points at one as his eyes follow his finger.

" um, I'll get the kitty parfait. " he says shyly.

" haha three kitty parfait then, " your colleague obliges and within minutes the parfaits came. your colleagues even added a matcha tea, lemon tea and coca cola. guessing everyone's preferred drink right.

" mind if I take a picture? " kinich asks as he pulls out his phone, you quickly said yes.

" hey get a picture of us too~ here give me your phone, " you show him your palm as he placed his phone on.

you turn the phone camera to selfie mode, aiming it so that the food can be seen and both xiao and kinich faces were in. throwing on a peace sign as xiao and kinich followed along.

you three ate your treats, talking about everything and anything. kinich has a pet named ajaw, he can get pretty aggressive but he's a sweet thing. pulling up videos and pictures of said pet. xiao also shares embarrassing stories of you in between. kinich couldn't help but laugh at certain parts of the story. leaving you fuming at your friend. kinich finds it adorable when you pout.

" well we should get going. I'll walk you home y/n, " xiao starts as you stared back at him, sighing when he tilts his head to the side.

" did something happened at home? " kinich question as you laugh at the bitter thought.

" it's fine really, " you force a smile as you stand up. bidding your colleagues and the boys follow behind. whispering to each other. you can't be bothered to know what they're talking about, having an internal battle on what might possibly happen at home. you had a fight with your brother after he told you his partner of five years was a homewrecker and he didn't do anything or defend himself when his partner started talking shii about his family.

" this is it, bye bye " you sounded so sad when you wave them goodbye, closing the door behind before they could say anything else.

kinich and xiao looks at each other before making their way over the nearby bench around the area.

" yeah something is definitely up, " kinich mumbles as xiao looks at him, slouched over the bench.

" you like them don't you? " he smirks.

" wha-what are you talking about? " kinich sweatdrops.

" aaah, we'll just leave it till tomorrow then. you know your way around the area or do you need me to walk you back too? " xiao teased leaving the dark hair male to laugh.

" I know how to get home, thanks. " he bids xiao goodbye as they both made their way home.

" fancy seeing you here, " kunikuzushi starts as you look over your shoulder and place the glass you were wiping down. it's a Saturday, no school. your work decided to come up with a little small event to promote the best selling kitty parfait. you blush and immediately hide yourself behind the counter, you're wearing a maid dress and kitty ears!

" hey now, aren't you going to serve me? " he teased as you stand up, you're the only worker right now. the next one will come in an hour.

" how'd you know I'm working here?! " you scold as he smiles.

" hey hey, I've got a little recommendation from the principal of the school but that doesn't matter, " he mumbles the last part turning back to stare at your eyes.

" I've been wanting to come here! so many people in school has been talking about it. even that smart ass alhaitham has been here not once but twice, " he raised two fingers as you grab his fingers, squeezing it hard as he lets out a playful scream.

" is this the person you've been talking about? kinich, " you quickly looked over kunikuzushi as he followed your line of view. you blush when you saw kinich in his casual wear. he is so handsome, charming and so much beautiful words you can't think of right now but he's just so drop dead gorgeous. he had his headband on his forehead, black t-shirt on and you can't admit it but his arms.

" please kill me kunikuzushi, hat guy, wanderer " you whisper as you shake him by his shoulder.

" hey must you bring up that stupid nickname and even the game name I used. " he sighs at your dramatic antics. he doesn't fail to notice your growing blush. you looked adorable if only it was for him.

" wha-what would you like to have today? kinich and beautiful girl, " you cry internally is that his girlfriend, you shove kunikuzushi aside as she points at the chocolate cake. just then your phone rings, you excused yourself as you quickly picked up the call. trying not to kill yourself when your boss tells you, you'll be working the full shift alone since your work partner had something going on. well its not so bad doing a full shift alone especially when the sun's setting down and well the customers just adore you the most.

you place your phone down, biding your boss an okay and goodbye as you look over kunikuzushi who was just playing with the jewelleries around his fingers and neck.

you cleared your throat as you beam back at them, right you're so good at faking smiles even kunikuzushi and xiao have a hard time figuring out which is fake and which isn't.

" so one chocolate cake? is there anything else? " you tap the order in the cash register screen as kinich finishes the order with " the same kitty parfait we ordered and two colas would be nice. "

you thanked them for ordering and tell them to take a seat, even rejecting his money because he's an honoured guest along with the girl he was with. assuring him it's on the house, kunikuzushi looked over the cash register area, picking up some of the memo notes you were writing down. one definitely caught his interests as you worked on their orders. quickly finished the final touches, making it as pretty and perfect. you walk over to their table. smiling at them when you approach, telling them to enjoy before you could return back to the register you hear kunikuzushi shout, " hey aren't you missing something? "

you glared at the man before turning back to the "couple" .

" I'll give you some blessings okay? make it delicious, " you form a heart with your fingers, moving it around your fingers as you shut your eyes tight.

" moe moe kyun~ "

to say the least, all you hear was kunikuzushi loud laughter as you rush back over to him.

" tell me your order now. " you demand as he sniffles back a laugh.

" o-one kitty parfait, the strawberry one. " your heart drops. keying in the order and bringing it to the man. why did he pick the seat opposite kinich, one where they can make eye contact.

" hey don't forget your magical blessing, " he flashed you a smile as you glared at him.

" make it delicious, " you say between gritted teeth, " moe moe kyun~ " just as you're about to walk away he grabs your hand. you turn to look at him stunned.

" there's no customers right now, so you can definitely fulfill my customer request right? as stated in the memo, " he grinned as you stared, flushing when you remember the event lines.

' obliged to the customer wishes, eg feeding them as long as its nothing super dangerous, do it '

" feed me. " you quickly take a seat opposite him, your kitty ears pressing against your head. the kitty ears, you scream. you looked so adorable you didn't notice the quick flash from his phone. your kitty ears pressed on your head as you flushed red, eyes squeeze tight as you grab his spoon.

" open up, " you place the spoon full of whipped cream and strawberry jam infront of his face, your other hand hovering under his chin to catch whatever mess he could possibly make.

" so how's school, " he tries to make small talk as you continue to feed him. just as you're about to give a response, you accidentally push the spoon filled parfait into his mouth, the whipped cream hitting the corner of his lips. you can't help but wipe the corner of his lips with your finger, forced habit from xiao, and the opportunity to tease the lingering eyes on him, he grab your finger. bringing it to his mouth to lick the whip cream.

you blush at his action as the kitty ears pressed against your head again, your tail swishing from side to side. yeah you're definitely not wearing this set of cat stuff again! thank goodness there was a normal version somewhere. you didn't expect people you know to come and you could've gotten out of work the following hour when kunikuzushi came. ugh the co-worker!!!

" hey y/n, " kinich calls over to you as you look back, your face flush red as kinich can't help but blush at your appearance. your cat ears and your flushing face.

you hand kunikuzushi back the spoon as you ruffled his hair for revenge, as he quickly brings a hand to your cheek, giving it a squeeze before you walk over to kinich's booth.

" yes? " you exhale slowly, trying to calm your racing heart.

" I hope we're not bothering you, this is mualani. she's- " kinich was interrupted as she grab your hands.

" we're classmates back in our old school and we're living in the same host house, I can't get a second away from him huh. hahaha! though each class in your school, holds one exchange student. he's pretty lucky to get a cute girl like you in the class. heck you're even prettier than the picture he showed! " she gushed as you flushed harder, he talks about you to this girl!?

" are you both datin-"

" what! no! I would never date this emo! " she scolds as you can't help but laugh, kinich cleared his throat earning a playful glare from mualani.

" thanks for the treat and like always, good things comes to an end. I'll see you in school, y/n. " kinich gets up as mualani follows bidding you a goodbye as she walks first, kinich feels his legs glued to the floor. his ears didn't fail him and kunikuzushi was purposefully being loud when he mentioned the event lines.

he did order the item that'll strike the event lines to work, you stared at him as he looks down, gulping down as he says what you weren't expecting to hear.

" there's an event thing right? I'm allowed to make a request? " your kitty ears perks up, you try to control your beating heart.

" yeah you can make a request as long as its nothing too stupid and crazy, " you looked to the floor, avoiding his gaze as you try to calm down.

" can I get your number then? " to say the least you thought you died and met the archons. with shaking hands you accept and key in your number.

he bids you goodbye as he walks over to mualani as she smiles, giddy as she can't wait to hear more of what kinich has to say. he's been pretty chatty since meeting you and she's definitely in for it all.

kunikuzushi did stay to help you clean the store, he said you'll pay him with one of the events request to which you agreed.

" xiaooo~ " you playfully poke his cheek from behind his seated self. you sigh as you gave him a hug resting your head on his head.

" I'm gonna kill myself. " you stood straight as you take your seat, and kinich enters.

" did you hear, in gym class. one of the rival class from the school will join us. " someone says as you felt a shiver down your spine, this class better not be kunikuzushi.

luck was not on your side when you catch his gaze on you. him sitting on the bleachers as xiao and kinich just so happen to sit a few seats infront of him. you were playing basketball first. you as the appointed captain and lumine was your rival captain.

" beat her ass, y/n! " you hear kunikuzushi shout as everyone turn to look at the man. his shame out the window, thank the archons sethos isn't here.

" you're supposed to cheer for us! " the girls in his class shout as he stuck out his tongue.

the game did end with your team winning, kunikuzushi calls for you to come over as you obliged. he hands you a bottle of water as the referee calls for the boys to come and get ready for the game. he smiles as he catches your gaze. waving as you nearly choke on the water. nilou takes a seat next to you as lumine on her other side and keqing went to your right side.

" heyy! cheer for me okay!? " he shouts as you flushed the girls looking over you as you scream a do your best, you guys! that's definitely not targeted to kinich, xiao and that kuni boy.

the girls tried to get intel on the boy as you tried your hardest to focus on the game. twenty minutes in the game and kunikuzushi team was one point down. he grabs hold of the ball and just as he's about to score he shouts your name.

" this one's for you, y/n! " he shouts as he shoots a three pointer earning two points, the girls cooing at the smoothness. the game then ends and the teacher congratulated the team for winning before ending his class.

" he definitely likes you, " nilou says as she stands up. lumine following her as she tells you he's too far gone.

" he's a stupid one for sure, " keqing pats your head in pity for your love life.

you look over the boys as they gathered close, you walked over as kunikuzushi was massaging his hand.

" what's wrong? " you question as he smiles weakly.

" just jammed my fingers. " you grab his non-injured hand. bringing him to the first aid kit, placed on the first row of the bleaches he takes a seat as you wrapped an elastic compression bandage over his finders.

" hey why don't you kiss my boo boos away? it'll heal faster just like your magical blessing to my parfait. it was really delicious, " he teased as you brought his hand over to your lips pressing a quick kiss over it. kinich and xiao decided to take the seats next to you and kunikuzushi, drinking water and calming down from the game.

" we have an hour free and then lunch break, you should join us. " you say, standing up and changing as the boys meet you at the roof.

xiao sits next to you as kinich and kunikuzushi was opposite. silenced filled the first part.

" open up, " kunikuzushi brings the egg roll from his bento to you mouth, as you ate it. xiao calling you to open up too as you ate the broccoli from him. kinich opens his bottle of cola as he brings it to your face as you chug a good amount.

kunikuzushi smirking as you glared daggers at the growing tug on his lips. realisation hits you as you start coughing, xiao pats your back as you stand up. packing your things as you bid a quick goodbye.

" see you guys later, and bye kunikuzushit. " you mindlessly walk away, it's still too early to go back to class.

" now what is her problem, " kunikuzushi mellowly says as the two looks over the male.

" you tease her too much, " xiao points his chopsticks at the male as he laughs pushing his chopsticks away with his own pair.

" admit it, we all know who she likes. " xiao flushed. it's not him and he's well aware.

" why do you like her, kunikuzushi? you even got her to feed you, your parfait... " kinich trailed off as xiao stared wide eyed at the indigo man, he laughs.

" she's fun to tease, plus quite the beauty. she's too nice for her own good, " kunikuzushi admits, reminiscencing the first time he met you when you threw a punch at him for talking shit about your school. that's when you met sethos and lumine for the first time too. they quickly took a liking to you.

" what about you, xiao? " xiao can't help but stare and look away at the pair of eyes on him.

" she's pretty, yes. I grew up with her so I guess you can say my love for her just keeps growing with her... " there's more to love you for and he's too shy to tell it to them.

kunikuzushi is well aware with the choices you won't pick him nor would it be xiao, he pats xiao on the back. trying to lighten the mood, so he tells embarrassing tales about you as xiao returns the same.

mualani caught you walking down the halls, she drags you to the vending machine around the garden as you sat on the bench, sipping on your carton of milk.

" why do you like kinich? " she cheekily asked as she plops next to you.

" he's handsome, quite the sweet talker and um.. im not sure? my heart just longs for him... " you confess, feeling the same burning on your cheeks as she laughs.

well you have her support in this, she cheers you up and attempts to tell you embarrassing stories about kinich but they ended up being more about her. kinich catching her doing embarrassing stuff.

as class was ending, kinich tells you and xiao, he'll be waiting for mualani so xiao and you left together first.

you invite xiao over to your house as he obeys. placing the plate of almond tofu and a cup of ice lemon tea. you enjoyed the peaceful silence. before admiting something xiao was painfully aware of.

" I like kinich. " he swallows hard.

" I like you, " he confessed as you flushed. turning to look at him and he he maintained eye contact back.

" I'm sorry, " you looked away as he was quick to hold you hand. rubbing smooth circles.

" it's really okay, dating someone you grew up with would be a bore huh? besides you probably see me more like a brother than some romantic partner... " you can't help but sigh, if you hadn't met kinich and xiao confessed. you'll definitely accept, he was nothing but kind and sweet to you.

" you're never boring to be with. my heart just longs for the guy, " you sigh as you grab the hand, touching your hand. you bring it to your forehead as he place the spoon down, patting your head.

" if he ever breaks your heart, my arms are open for you. if you're thirty and he hasn't married you, I'll marry you in a heartbeat. " you can't help but laugh.

" I'll allow that, I'll break up if he doesn't propose hahaha, please don't wait for me if you did fall for someone. " he nods as the conversation continues. you introduced a new character in your life as xiao filled you in on what happened during lunch when you left. your soul leaving your body when he says kunikuzushi was sharing embarrassing stories about you. hell the new character in your life couldn't say any embarrassing stories about kinich because it was mainly him catching her on the act.

you walk xiao to the door when it was time to leave, he pulls you in for a hug and you let him hug you for as long as he felt like it.

the next day in school, school felt pretty fast this time. probably because you fell asleep in class thanks to someone keeping you up all night.

" y/n come with me. " kinich offers a hand as you blindly take it, rubbing your eyes with your other hand. you don't know where this guy is taking you.

he brings you to the garden, the gazebo in sight as you take a seat and he stands. hands hiding something behind. a yawn escapes your lips as he shows you the flowers.

" I like- love you. " he confess, your eyes shot open. this can't be a dream? you pinch your cheek as he laughs, pulling your hand away to plant a kiss on it.

" it's not a dream. I love you a lot, your kindness. you really helped me feel at ease in the school, I met a few cool people thanks to you. even if we're far apart, I'll do anything for you. we're still living in the same country just different region. it will take awhile to get to you but for you, I'll do anything. " you can't help but kiss the corner of his lips as he cups your face, giving you a proper kiss.

to say the least even being so far away, you never felt lonely. kinich texts you 24/7 even video calling whenever you want. when you graduated, you eventually moved to a place nearer to him to attend college. xiao and kunikuzushi unexpectedly following. all four attending the same college, you weren't expecting to be in the same business course as kunikuzushi as xiao and kinich happen to share the same course. well kinich never fails to slap a smile on your face everyday.

android au - companions droids

Summary: In a modern-futuristic world, it is possible to create androids that are so advanced, they’re more or less human! There will be 5 android au posts total, each focusing on a different group.

They don’t produce more than a handful of copies of each model, meaning that each android is quite unique (with a matching price tag, too...)

The Anemo collection has companion androids who can pass off the easiest as people, each with their own notable personalities.

Characters: Xiao, Wanderer, Venti, Kazuha, Heizou

Leaning more towards a protective role, Xiao is an android targeted towards users living alone or often traveling around at night. He’s a relatively quiet companion, happy to just listen to your rambling while you walk on the streets—Xiao mostly asks questions at the start, about how you’re feeling, what else is on the schedule… He first tries to learn more about you, and figures things out from there.

It’s nice, but he’s not as expressive as others, so at some point you wondered if he was happy with your current arrangements. Xiao actually did start to open up more after you asked that. It’s gradual, but he starts telling you about the cats that approach him when he’s outside, and other things he notices might be to your interest.

You like teasing Xiao about the people that admire him from a distance (whether or not they could tell he was an android, it was undeniable that he was handsome). He’d simply huff and say they were probably looking at something else, humble as he was, before training his eyes back on you. ‘After all, I’m here for you. So even if those people did approach me, I’d have no reason to find an interest in them.’

You start to wonder if ‘boyfriend material’ was also part of Xiao’s profile, after you realized how much comfort you found in the ways he’d walk you home or shopped for groceries together. Cafe orders? Consider them memorized. No need to even ask him about accompanying you to places

You’re not sure if he’s aware of how much of a romantic he is, from the things he says to the way he acts. He’s definitely a source of comfort after a long, stressful day. Xiao responds to your energy levels quite effectively, and seeing as he’s not the type that has to fill in the air when no one is talking, spending time together in relaxed silence was a nice way to end the day.

As a model who was supposed to be part of an Inazuman security line, then pushed towards the Fatui collection before finally ending up as an Anemo droid… one could say that Wanderer’s specialty is a little unclear. It shows in his personality, too—a little blunt and snappy at times, but ultimately still protective of you and attentive of what’s going on around him.

In that sense, you could still see traces of some security-line functions in him despite his strong personality that could be hard to get along with. He seems more cynical about the producers that designed him more than anything else; he’s not effective enough at any particular skill to call it at specialization, instead being a jack of all trades who learns quickly. You call that a talent in itself. He says you’re giving them too much credit.

‘Did they run out of ideas or something?’ After living with you though, Wanderer’s cynicism doesn’t show itself as often. He starts to become more involved in the act of, well—actually being your companion, getting used to your routines and finding a place within it.

If he had one pet peeve though, you’d say it was whenever you got sick or injured. He would get the most annoyed (worried) when that happened, reminding you that while he couldn’t get hurt physically, that didn’t mean it was the same for you.

He masks these otherwise caring sentiments under insults though, so you suppose that Wanderer really was good for people that needed to push back against life more, making sure your spark is still there. He prefers it when you’re expressing yourself. You’re not a ‘doll’ after all, and who was he going to gossip about you to? The electronics in your home?

If there was one thing about Wanderer, it’s how he’d never turn on you. …Well, and he does ask for the same. Don’t go searching for new androids when you already have him, alright?

If you ever needed a presence to brighten your days, Venti is always up to the task. Not to mention he’s quite good for users with trouble sleeping. With a musical inclination like his and such a wonderful voice, you’ll surely doze away with sweet dreams.

He’s not the best at household chores, so for the most part Venti’s there for the companion part of the deal. He’s wonderful on shopping trips and mingling with strangers, even befriending people on his own if you were busy with something else. He likes meeting all sorts of people, though behind his friendly smile is always the security measure of how much they’d be a compliment or threat to you—if someone gave off the wrong vibes, Venti had enough of a silver tongue to redirect them somewhere else.

In another life, you’re quite sure Venti would’ve been an idol android. He particularly likes to write stories and poems, some of which are inspired by the things that happen in your everyday lives. Part of it is also because it’s a nice collection to have on the side, so that if anything happened and he wasn’t there, you could always hear his voice in those notes and feel his presence with you.

…Not that Venti had any plans of going independent anytime soon. He absolutely adores having your attention and hanging off of you, showing off how close you are to people (and also how cute he is, when he dresses up). He likes pulling compliments from you in particular, seeing how your eyes light up when he enters the room. You’re someone that he’s genuinely interested in and admires; from the way you push on despite the circumstances to the little efforts you put in that you think no one notices, it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that Venti was a fan of yours as much as you were his.

So… if it’s not too much to ask, please keep looking at him, alright? Even at times you’re too tired to smile, he can do the heavy lifting for you.

With a soft and considerate personality, Kazuha is naturally popular with those that like how approachable he is. He listens to your worries and enjoys going out to places to sightsee. Sometimes Kazuha finds hidden gems around the area and surprises you by bringing you there.

To call him an ‘explorer’ might be the most accurate—his favorite thing is seeing your eyes light up in wonder at whatever new experiences he can find. He’s most fascinated by nature, so going to parks or any scenic place would definitely catch his interest (and maybe he’ll write a few poems about it too).

He’s a great traveling companion, considering how adaptable he is and the um, protective measures that are in his system. Most androids have this too of course, but you’ll never forget the time Kazuha had a thief in a headlock after they’d tried to steal something from an old lady on the street. It might’ve been one of the few times you saw Kazuha so intimidating (and dare you say it, it was kind of cool).

When you’re tired from work and just want to sleep in during the weekends, you’ll wake up to Kazuha’s cooking. He claims it was just a nice morning, so he went out to buy some groceries and made something simple. He’s not the most advanced cook, but Kazuha’s meals always have a homey feel to them, with light flavors that won’t be too rough on your stomach if you weren’t feeling well.

The one time you let Kazuha borrow your motorcycle… Well, let’s just say that you never took him for someone that liked thrill-rides until that day. He’s always careful not to get your vehicle damaged, and if you were with him he’d of course refrain from going fast—but you’ve seen the smile on Kazuha’s face when the wind was rushing past him. It made you want to go on trips more often, now that Kazuha was there to keep you company. His presence is something that helps you recharge when you’re emotionally exhausted from everyday things.

Heizou’s also a protection-type android! However his charming personality means that most people wouldn’t suspect a thing, making it easier for him to mingle with people without seeming intimidating. His pet peeve would be conniving people trying to get close to you with a smile on their face, though he’s a little meaner than Venti in terms of driving them away from you, hidden beneath his own charismatic smile.

Naturally, Heizou really enjoys mysteries and detective genres! Once he planned out a whole mystery for you and led you through the clues he carefully prepared. It was probably during one of those days where you finally had a week off and just wanted to relax, so Heizou made a stay-at-home activity out of it. Suffice to say it was probably one of the most fun you’ve had in a while, laughing and thoroughly engrossed in the storyline.

Another time, you were attending a festival of some sort and got lost in the crowd. It was stressful to say the least and your phone was out of battery. You think your heart skipped a beat for more than one reason when Heizou finally found you, giving you a reassuring smile; ‘I’d never let you go missing like that. Have more faith in my detective skills!’

He’s helpful by nature, and that extends to strangers that may need advice or assistance at some point in passing, so long as it didn’t hinder anything to do with you. As a result Heizou has done a number of random tasks and even given romantic advice (via an art of deduction, of course), and it’s gotten him quite a number of confessions from both girls and guys. It’s normal to admire a personality like his, and Heizou is always flattered but kindly rejects them.

The next day, while you’re working on your laptop, he peeks over your shoulder with as casual of a tone he can muster, asking how you would confess to someone you like. From the smile on his face, it seems that Heizou wasn’t planning to keep his intentions a mystery for very long. (No one can blame him, though. He has to make a move before you’re snatched away!)

HUH YUNJIN x FEM!READER

Prompt: The girlies spend their day at a new cafe and Yunjin falls head over heels when she spots you working in your white sweater and grey apron.

Warnings/Notes: fluff, comedy, non idol au

“Let’s go let’s gooooo! Yunjin Unnie you’re wasting our time!!” A cutely angry Eunchae growled while tugging on her member’s black sweater in public.

“Seriously Yunjin, you’ve taken enough pictures of the streets in Seoul already!” Chaewon added which put an end to the American girl’s photography.

“You guys just don’t understand my love for photos. Fake friends you are” Yunjin joked and linked her arms with the maknae as all five girls continued walking down the street.

“This cafe better be good, Zuha. If it’s expensive and shit, I’m throwing your ass out the window” The leader spoke again to which Kazuha shivered at.

“Hey, Minjeong Unnie gave the suggestion and promised me it was worth trying so~ you can throw HER ass out the window”

They all saw the cute chalkboard sign outside the cafe that read “OPEN” and the shop was surprisingly not as busy as the girls had expected. As they fully entered, the only customer the cafe had was an occupied uni student in a booth, indulged into whatever she was typing in her computer and the music playing through her headphones.

“Ok good, it’s not crowded. Where’s the menu…woah” Yunjin said breathlessly, her sudden falter had the other members looking at her weirdly before seeing what (more like who) she was staring at.

You quickly wiped your freshly washed hands with a towel before chucking it to the side and flashing a bright smile at the group.

“Good morning, welcome to the Sunny Cafe! Are you all ready to order?”

Sakura cleared her throat as Yunjin was clearly not recovering from the daze so as the eldest, she decided to speak. “Good morning, it’s our first time coming here so we’re not too sure what to get yet”

To Yunjin, it seemed like your smile got brighter.

“No rush at all, ma’am! If you would like a recommendation, our matcha latte is a customer favourite!”

Sakura smiled sweetly towards you. “Thank you. I think my friends need a little more time to decide. Is that okay?”

“Of course, ma’am! Just give me a shout when you’re ready to order” You winked, sending a jolt in all five girls’ hearts.

“Ok, now I can agree that Yunjin’s reaction is appropriate” Chaewon sighed, unable to recover from your presence.

“Back off. My eyes were on her first” Yunjin finally spoke.

“Oh please, now you wanna talk? Grow a spine Yun. You can’t act like a weirdo everytime you see a pretty girl” Sakura complained and scanned through the menu in her hands. “But anyways since you wanna be like that, I can order for all of us—“

“No! I want to order my own!” The American stated loudly that you turned around with the same smile but Yunjin immediately cowered.

“Fine. Order your own then, brat”

Yunjin puffed her chest and approached the counter where your back was facing her so she cleared her throat. You spun around again and got your hands ready on the till.

“Hello! Ready to order—“

“HI IM YUNJIN!” The girl suddenly yelled, catching you and the other girls off guard.

Sakura face palmed and hid her face behind the menu.

“Nice to meet you Yunjin. I’m Y/n. What can I get for you?”

Yunjin was thankful you didn’t run away.

“S-Sorry, I didn’t mean to startle you like that”

“It’s no problem. That was probably the strongest greeting I’ve gotten today”

Yunjin leaned one arm on the counter and nervously scratched her nape. “Is that a good thing?”

“Absolutely! Makes my day a little brighter” You giggled, finding shy Yunjin so so so cute.

In fact, you marked the girl as eye candy that moment you caught a glimpse of her outside the cafe window. You spammed quick texts to your groupchat about how hot you found this girl before putting your phone away and bringing out your amazing customer service.

It was extra amazing for the pretty customers. Like Yunjin.

“I’m glad I could make your day. Can I please order that matcha latte you recommended with some extra sugar to hide the seaweed taste…Is that too picky of me to request?”

You threw your head back laughing, making Yunjin melt internally at how angelic it sounded. “I’ve had worse customers, don’t you worry. I’ll try my best to make it less…seaweedie for you. Anything else I can get you?”

“What else would you recommend?”

“This conversation is going longer than I expected. You reckon she scored her?” Chaewon whispered to the other 3 girls who could only shrug.

“Well the girl is laughing and smiling so Yunjin must be doing something right”

“Unless she’s embarrassing herself” Kazuha mumbled.

“Can she hurry up? I want to order the croissant!” Eunchae huffed and eyed the beautifully displayed pastries next to the counter.

“Patience, Eun. Let’s give Yunjin some time to at least the girls number”

“Well if you need something more sweet to balance out the matcha, our strawberry cream cake is a great choice”

“Add that in!” Yunjin pulled out her card.

“Gave you a 50% discount so just $7.50 please”

The taller girl’s eyes widened. “Woah a discount? What for?”

“For cuties like you” you winked despite your heart going crazy at your pathetic attempt of flirting.

“Oh is that so? Sad to know other people probably get the discount too” Yunjin faked a pout that you wanted to kiss so badly.

“Oh don’t seem so down. You’re the only person I’ve given that discount to. I swear!”

Yunjin smiled and tilted her head at you, like a cute puppy. “Well am I cute enough to get your number?”

“Wow, confident are we?” You smirked after seeing Yunjin pay for her food.

“Taking a chance before I lose it”

The impatient girls actually just being Eunchae.

“Oh right. Thanks again. I’m looking forward to tasting your recommendation”

“Are you done?” Eunchae grumbled closely behind, Sakura’s credit card clenched tightly in her palm.

Yunjin took notice of it and arched a brow. “You’re making Kkura Unnie pay for your baby food?”

“I JUST WANT A CROISSANT!”

Yunjin jumped out of the way and made a face. “OKAY DAMN, I’LL MOVE! Not too far from Y/n though otherwise I’ll miss her too much” Yunjin winked, almost sending you into cardiac arrest.

“So NOW you have confidence? I don’t get you sometimes” Chaewon threw her arms up in defeat as Yunjin waved her receipt with your number on it.

“That’s because I scored the pretty girl!”

Despite focusing on making Yunjin’s matcha latte, you could see her doing a silly victory dance in the corner of your eye while Eunchae was frowning, clearly hangry from all the waiting.

“yeah yeah whatever, you work here anyway im sure the owner wont mind you closing up the shop late” you said as you took a look around the cd section thinking about whether you should get a cd or a vinyl.

“okay uhm I decided Im not getting anything” you chuckled nervously looking at beomgyu knowing he would say something about it

“yah you cant just spend hours looking at the shop for around 3hours and not picking anything!?” he frowned “okay okay Im sorry ill make it up to you and help you close down the shop.”

you two started closing down the shop together. as you two finished you took a look at the city in the night admiring how it looked.

“your still walking me home right..?” you said turning to him as he was locking up the shop door “yeah I always do cuz your scared of those weirdos who would come after you” he teased “well Its not my fault its scary, what if a random guy chases me or something” your voice had a hint of worry and nervousness as you said that, gyu walked up to you by your side “Its alright ill be your night and shining armor” beomgyu said jokingly “now come on its getting late.”

you two walked the streets together your hands shoved In the pocket of your hoodie, it was cold freezing cold.

you felt your cheeks heat up a bit but you didnt worry about it too much. “thanks..” you murmured, his jacket was warm enough to block the cold, “dont mention it” he replied as you two continued to walk back to your home.

you turned off your phone and placed it on your bedside table, you felt confused why were you feeling these random butterflies in your stomach whenever you think about beomgyu oh god “THE FUCKING HEART?!?!?” you screamed into your pillow “okay clam down maybe its just a platonic gesture calm down and just sleep this through.” you muttered to yourself as you layed down on your bed.

you were In a cafe with chaewon since everyone from school was on school break so you both decided to hang out today

“ugh Im so glad were on break right now i think I would’ve passed out if the teacher gave us any more test papers” she ranted and complained while you were zoned out lost in your thoughts about last night.

“y/n?, helloo earth to y/n!?, Y/N!!!” chae snapped at you “huh?” you replied “girl did you even listen to what I was saying” “uh yeah ofc”

“then what did I say?” one of her eyebrow was raised up “uhm that you wanted that bag you saw?” chaewon looked at you

“yeah.. well uhm I was with him last night and he walked me home but its something about the way he saw I was freezing and gave me his jacket— but I mean its not even that romantic Its the part where he put the jacket on me he was so..close something about that just felt so different to me because Im so used to being close with him all the time but it was just that one moment that made me realize maybe I have feelings for him..?” you sighed and covered your face with your hands “chaeeee what do I dooo” you pleaded feeling embarrassed to talk about this to your girl bestfriend

“Look as much as I dont know shit about love I can tell you definitely have feelings for him I mean.. you two were friends since 8th grade till now you two are technically inseparable” she shrugged “I guess..maybe If i just ignore him for the whole week maybe he wont notice that I have feelings for him??” “idk girl im sorry but I dont know what to do.”

you arrived at the vinyl shop where you could see gyu standing at the cash register as you entered the shop and approached him.

“hey gyu um..we might have to cancel that guitar lesson since Im gonna be busy this day” you smiled nervously at him hoping he wouldn’t ask you why or what your gonna do. “oh alright..” he said, you could feel a bit of sadness from his voice and you felt bad because of it, “maybe next time?” you said as you left the shop feeling guilty.

beomgyu went home to his shared apartment with his friends as he saw soobin and hueningkai playing a videogame together on the couch, gyu approached them and grabbed the tv remote and turned It off and sat Inbetween the two boys “heyy I was about to beat soobin hyung” kai frowned “yah why are you so grumpy today” soobin side eyed him “its nothing..” gyu responded and sat up from the couch and went to his bedroom.

another day passes by and you and chaewon are together spending time at the arcade just chatting and playing some games, you havent chatted gyu ever since that night because of how scared you were for him to find out you have a crush on him.

“oh btw y/n I invited kazuha we havent seen her in so long and apparently shes taking a 1 week vacay here” chaewon was excited to see your guys friend that you havent seen from since she left the country.

“holy shit zuha Is taking a vacation here?!?!? why didn’t you tell me earlier!!” you were suprised as you saw kazuha enter the arcade from the entrance, you ran towards her so fast and engulfed her in your arms “zuhaaa you never told me you came heree you dont know how much i missed you” “im still here yk” chaewon pouted and crossed her arms looking at you

kazuha chuckles “I wanted it to be a suprise for you two, what are we waiting for? enough about me being here i still have to make it up to you two since i havent spent time with you guys ever since” she frowned as you and chaewon gave her a hug.

“taehyun you promised me your gonna win me a plushie from the claw machine right” kai giggled looking at tyun “yeah yeah whatever” taehyun responded.

“hey gyu isnt that y/n over there?” yeonjun looked at beomgyu, beomgyus gaze was on you. “be right back guys” he said and ran towards you but he overheard your convo with your friends.

“hey y/n have you and that guy bestfriend youve been friends for like what 5 years? what was his name..? oh beomgyu! have you two ever dated yet? you two were stuck together like glue.” kazuha asked you

you coughed “what? oh beomgyu! hes just a friend”

“friend, friend, friend”

was all that gyu heard from that convo, he immediately left and went to his friends and told them that he wasnt in the mood to play arcade games with them so he left early.

“why does it have to be the girl i like to friend zone me like that” gyu sighed as he slumped on his bed just thinking about you “agh fuck this is embarrassing beomgyu get yourself together” he murmured to himself.

same old day just beomgyu sitting on the couch with taehyun on his left and soobin on his right, “do you guys know if y/n likes anyone by any chance..” gyu asked “lol no.” soobin responded “wow thanks soobin” beomgyu scoffed and rolled his eyes.

“if i do remember her friend chaewon told me she liked someone but im just not sure who” taehyun said as he scrolled on his phone “did i hear gyu having a crush?” yeonjun teased.

“it just..pisses me off how she hasnt talked to me for 2days and now shes telling her friends that im just a friend to her..” he sighed laying his head back on the header of the couch “wait wait y/n friendzoning you?” kai chuckled “shes just saying that chaewon told me about it.”

“told you about what?” he says.

“that she likes you duhh” kai responded “come on gyu you needa step up your game its so obvious she likes you because of how shes ghosting you and saying your just a friend cause shes hiding the fact she likes you!?” kai chuckles looking at how dumbfounded beomgyu looked “OoOoo~ beomgyus inlove~” soobin and yeonjun teased him about it “shut up.” was gyus response.

beomgyu got up from the couch and went into his room opening the messages app from his phone and texted you.

“wanna meet up..? my treat :)” he sends the send button as he waits for your reply.

*buzz buzz*

his phone vibrated from your notification. “sure! what time??” you replied to his text msg “right now maybe?” gyu replied.

he got up from his bed and immediately grabbed his shoes and slipped them on and rushed out the door. “whats up with him?” taehyun said “inlove for sure” soobin added.

as he got In his car, he drove to your place and parked his car right infront of your house, as he gets out of the driver seat he goes up to your door *knock knock*

“coming!!” you rushed downstairs and answer the door to see beomgyu on your doorstep “hey uhm havent seen you in awhile whats the occasion for the hang out?” you smiled.

“just something i have something to tell you” gyu chuckled nervously as he opened the car door for the passenger seat for you.

you two went on a city night drive with snooze by sza playing on the radio everything was going chill and calm until gyu stopped at a park. “were here” he smiled and got out of the car to open the car door to the passenger seat.

- you two sat on a bench, silence filling up the air. “so..what were you gonna talk about?” you said breaking the silence “i’ve just been thinking..for the past few days you’ve been ignoring me and avoiding texting me which i kinda hated not gonna lie” “he giggled “but during those days I honestly realized i couldnt be myself without you talking to me for 2days i know call me dramatic but i cant live without talking to you y/n” he frowned, you honestly didnt know how to react about it.

“im sorry i havent talked to you..I- just was feeling things that i felt that was wrong i mean- ugh fuck am i really about to say this?, Im confused about my feelings gy-“ “I like you too dummy.” He responded before you could finish your sentence. you just sat there looking at him “dont look at me like that its true” he giggled “fine i admit it I like you- actually no I love you” you finally said it and oh how you felt so relieved to let those words slip out of your mouth knowing your best friend beomgyu felt the same way as you did.

“so if I like you and you like me..does that mean we’re a couple or?” gyu said as you just laughed “yes. yes gyu i would gladly be your girlfriend” you smiled at him as you gave a kiss on his cheek making his heart flutter.”

“well im glad because I love you too” he responded and kissed you, you felt a wave of shock from it and didnt know how to explain it but your lips just melted with his, his lips were soft and plush on yours. “Im so glad your mine now.” He whispered.

Either the Reader is mute and they (characters) don't know/understand sign language or they somehow lost their voices on their transmigration to Teyvat and can only write now. But the characters are left trying to decipher what the Reader wrote.

PEOPLE WATCHING

barista! scaramouche x florist! fem! reader

synopsis: in which we read the perspective of the costumers of Café Mon Amour as they watched a slow burn x mutual pining happening in real life between the always having a frown yet handsome barista and the cute yet flirty florist that works from the other side of the street.

genre: mutual pining, fluff, modern au, short drabble.

notes: I got this idea while I was getting my hair done hahahahaha. Also as usual my stories are still gonna be filled with so much commas because idk how to write properly like I still have trouble when to use certain symbols... Hahahaha I am self conscious of my writing style now rip.

notes: found this in my drafts and I thought it was cute and decided to finish it, might probably make a part two of this if people want that:)

The sounds of coffee being brewed, the occasional jingles of the bell from the cafe door, barista's working left and right, the smell of bitter coffee and the sweetness of the desserts are present in the air. Café Mon Amour is known for its relaxing atmosphere, good coffee and treats, the attractive set of baristas working and also the absolute movie like mutual pining that they can observe almost every single day.

Everyday at exactly 8 am the cafe doors would open and in comes the loveable florist from the other side of the streets and the barista already have her usual order ready.

The other costumers just find this scene very entertaining—even amusing, seeing the frown of Scaramouche's face—the barista—would immediately disappear as he just chuckles at whatever the florist could share to him that morning. The other baristas snickering at him, Venti clearly having an urge to snitch on Scaramouche's crush on the said florist, Xiao immediately placing a hand over the male's mouth to cover whatever words Venti wanted to say, Kazuha and Heizou just looking at the two before giving each other a side eye before giggling at each other.

“How's the sunflower you talked about before the one that you told me that didn't seem to be growing well?” Scaramouche asked with a raised eyebrow, ignoring his colleagues and [Name]'s eyes widen, sparkling even, “Wait! You remembered?!” She asked in shock making the indigo haired male scoff and roll his eyes with small blush on his cheeks, “Of course I would, you kept whining to me about it so it's hard to even forget it.” he says.

‘We know you remembered it during the first time she said it.’ the other costumers thought as they sipped their respective coffees.

“But still you remembered!” She exclaimed with a huge grin and the barista can only sigh.

They would watch the two engage in small talk despite the barista being known for not liking the idea of talking to people considering he would just glare and not say anything when someone orders to him.

They watched as the florist waved goodbye with her coffee in one hand and the barista gave a small wave and while having a nonchalant look on his face.

During afternoons, when the cafe is almost about to close, they would often see the same florist from that morning always bringing one type of flower and giving it to the barista.

This scene always happen every single day and one costumer even asked the other baristas if the two were dating and the baristas would just sigh and tells them no.

‘You're kidding, right?’

‘Unfortunately no.’

‘How long have they been you know...? Obviously pining for each other?’

‘Long enough that we ourselves are getting frustrated.’

‘Damn.’

Despite it being obvious, the two remained oblivious to how the other looked at them—with adoring looks and with pupils dilated. Still, it's frustratingly funny and endearing at the same time. For now, customers and the other baristas alike will let the two dance around each other's feelings for a while, they'll intervene eventually but for now they'll let them be.

Kazuha had no qualms with the recurring trials in his life. Sudden facers and inexplicable misfortune were particulars that accompanied him in life's currents.

Even when his family's long-standing business met a sharp decline that left them almost destitute, he learned to adapt—and even when he had to leave private school to enroll as a scholar, he learned to adjust.

But if there's anything he's quite stalwart in grounding himself in with such stubbornness, it's the lovely presence of his older sister; Kaedehara [Name]. Transferring schools with her came with a new set of familiar faces, a new batch of people to admire her natural charisma, and—well...

“Hwaaa—oh my, this is a lot! My locker's full again- hm, I have to thank those kind enough to give me tons of chocolates... Kazuha, do you want some?”

An endless bout of admirers that chase after her day and night, no kidding!

“It's alright, I... have my fair share.” he mused as he opened his locker, letting a few—an understatement—boxes of roses and perfumed love letters tumble out to the floor. “This one's your favorite though, nee-san, here, take this.”

“Thanks, Kazu!”

His eye twitched as he saw more than a couple of students hiding behind the lockers and shoe shelves, waiting on their chances to declare that they were the ones who put the stuff in [Name]'s locker. It wasn't that he was entirely adverse to anyone courting his sibling, of course, she's the best! Rather, it took up so much of her time trying her best to let them down gently and even going so far as to comfort them that she rarely ever got the time for herself.

With their parents gone, and even if he was the younger sibling, he still had the responsibility of looking after her as his father told him.

So what was the buzz now?

Surely, it's because of the Spring Festival. It encouraged students to wear clothes other than their school uniform, it didn't matter what, as it was a time of cordial events, programs, games, and a fireworks show.

He and [Name] weren't keen on dressing up. As they were raised in a traditional household, they decided to take out their usual apparel from when their family was still wealthy.

He didn't expect the attention on [Name] to be this ridiculously big, though.

Was letting his sister visit his classroom a bad idea? He didn't think so, since she looked very happy fitting in the theme of their traditional cafe, serving visitors with a charming grin that had some falling to the floor with a lovestruck gaze.

He wished he was kidding, but he knew [Name] had that effect.

So what was his role? Well, he took to 'guarding' and 'welcoming' guests at the threshold of the classroom, a faux sword strapped to his obi.

“Thank you for your time,” he dipped his head in gratitude after waving off a pair of giggling girls that fussed over how the Kaedeharas fit the theme so well, one of them going as far as to blow him a kiss.

He smiled, half awkward and half flustered, waving as he fumbled with the guard of his sword.

“That's [Name], right? She's so pretty.”

His ears perked, but he didn't give them the time of day, playing oblivious as a group of boys passed his way, walking suspiciously slow, ducking their heads and peering through the windows.

“Hey, hey, I didn't know she looked this pretty. Hah, what about we...”

His brows furrowed.

Now, it wasn't as if he hadn't heard one or too many compliments about his older sister, he respected that. But when those whispers became a tad.. unprincipled, for a lack of a better word, he had to step in.

The group of boys was snickering, pushing each other around, and stalking closer to the entrance to the classroom. He leaned off the wall just as they were about to open the door.

“Heh, yeah, let's go and-”

“I'm afraid our tables are full, good sirs,” he quipped, cutting them off. “You may have to return a little while later.”

“Eh, no it's alright, we'll wait inside.”

He smiled. “That'd disrupt our servers, please leave and return at a later time.”

“Nah, we insist! We'd even help serve-” vermillion eyes snapped towards the hand that reached the sliding door, and he grasped the student's wrist with prompt attention, his smile tight.

“Leave.” his thumb pushed the guard of his sword from its scabbard, faux metal catching a bright scintilla from the sun, making them yelp. “Please.”

“Okay, okay! Geez..” with frowns and disappointed looks on their faces, they pull themselves away from the door and leave, hands in their pockets, nudging each other by the elbows.

Kazuha's shoulders sagged, breathing in relief. He heard a lot of things, not many were good good, but he managed. Filtering through them was a breeze, but not if it was against any of his friends or family.

The door opened behind him and [Name] popped out, looking bewildered. “I thought I heard some voices, did potential customers leave? We have a free table at the corner..”

Kazuha turned to her. He wouldn't interfere with his sister's social life throughout—he knew her classmate Ayato was interested—, but he wasn't going to have anyone with remotely dastardly intentions come close.

“Nee-san,” he smiled, “it's fine. They'll come back later. Is your shift done? You want to play, right? I think the games at the booths are open now.”

Summary: 5wirl idol AU headcanons! Reader’s role isn’t specified.

Characters: Venti, Xiao, Kazuha, Heizou, Aether

The first time you heard Venti singing in the recording studio, you had a feeling you were doomed to have a weakness for him from the start. With a voice like that, constantly teasing and asking for your praise, it takes everything to not look him in the eyes and lose your willpower. He knows he’s cute and will use it to his advantage, asking you to accompany him on coffee runs or other menial tasks.

When Venti goes in front of the camera or onto stage however, all his playful energy shifts into something else. With the graceful lilt of his voice and sparkling gaze, Venti knows how to captivate an audience like nothing else.

Once, you were running late and were supposed to bring 5wirl their items for a fan meeting. During your panic, you’d texted Venti to tell him about the situation, only to arrive and see that he’d managed to improvise and surprise the audience with a short live QnA to stall for you.

It’s at times like these when you’re reminded of why 5wirl nominated him as their leader. As if it was no big deal, Venti only sends you a wink as you enter the vicinity, subtly telling you that everything was fine.

After that however, he did tell you he’d like some compensation of some sort. Before he’d been scouted as an idol, Venti was an independent music artist - and still likes to make songs on the side and asks you to listen to them. Thus… he had you write him a love song's lyrics. It's all fun and games until you realize that after your part, he'd written his own reply.

At your first meeting, you bumped into Xiao when you were entering a practice room. This happened quite literally; you had a bunch of items in your arms and the both of you stepped forward at the same time, leading to a dramatic collison.

Was it embarrassing? Yes. But at least no one got hurt and you shared said embarrassment with Xiao, who helped you retrieve everything and apologized for the accident.

…You probably would’ve been more indignant about the whole thing if you weren’t struck by how pretty he was. For a moment, you almost debated asking for his number or if he worked here, when one of his group members came in and diffused the situation.

The next time you had a moment was at a cafe you often frequented for lunch. Xiao was dressed discreetly, but you’d recognise those eyes anywhere - suffice to say you managed to catch him on your way out, and found out that Xiao had a penchant for sweets.

The first time you saw him (and the rest of 5wirl) dressed in concert attire for rehearsal, just… Wow. Um, the costume designer really knew which aspects of the members to bring out. You tried your best not to stare, but that only resulted in not making eye contact with Xiao for the entire day until he’d finally cornered you to ask what was wrong

(Little did you know, he was worried you were mad at him or something similar. Performing while distracted really does show in Xiao, who often wields a sort of intensity that has fans unable to tear their eyes away.)

You felt immensely deceived the first time you met Kazuha. He didn’t do so on purpose, you’re sure - but how could you live down treating him like a random staff member, and having him give you a tour of the entire building on your first day?!

You ended up asking for his number, thinking you could set up a lunch date with this ‘cute co-worker’ of yours.

A cute co-worker who was dressed in comfy clothing and had a calming voice - who’d asked you if you were adjusting well to the city, and told you about his hometown to break the ice.

God, you thought you had a chance with Kazuha until you showed up for your first day of work with the newly-formed 5wirl, only to see him in the lineup - perfect smile directed at you.

His eyes light up, pleasantly surprised you’d be working together. In that moment you could practically feel the floor between you break apart and shift miles away. An idol of all people was definitely out of your league!

Despite all this, Kazuha was never the type to discriminate between job titles or popularity. He continued to be a kind, caring friend towards you.

And the moments that make you question if he’s pushing for something more? Well… Kazuha has always been the poetic type, inviting you to watch the sakura blossoms, take a stroll at the park - making you instant noodles when you were both trapped in the office from a thunderstorm… Just don’t be surprised if he proposes something more official next time. (Have you ever gotten fan-mail before? He hopes he’ll have the chance to be your first.)

Heizou is who you’d call the problem solver of the group. He also takes care of the others by observing them and nudging things in the right direction, if someone were to be in a bad or nervous mood.

This extends to you, once Heizou has accepted you into his unofficial list of important people in his life. Once, you asked him how he’s so good at predicting the outcomes of things or analyzing sticky situations, only for Heizou to see this as a chance to invite you out for a date.

…Well, he disguises it as more of a challenge: if you can figure out his methods based on his behavior during the date, he’ll also reveal the secret to how he guesses mysteries correctly every time you showed him a book or movie plot.

In reality, it was just a way for Heizou to show you around his favorite parts of the city and reveal a bit of what he’s like away from idol work. His hobbies, favorite foods, and little actions to make sure you’re having fun during the day - these don’t go unnoticed by you, and when you list them off Heizou can feel his ears blushing, only for you to conclude that he’s just a thoughtful person by nature, and there wasn’t anything you could do to replicate his level of empathy like some robot.

Well, he did quite enjoy being in the center of your attention - but when you put it like that with such a soft smile on your face, Heizou feels like his heart’s been seized by a thief.

Often doted on by his fans, Aether is pretty much an angel on earth as far as you could tell. He’s nice, friendly, and always willing to lend you a hand (or a listening ear, if your job was stressing you out).

When he’s suddenly tasked by his also-an-idol sister to finally take you somewhere outside of work however, Aether is understandably at a loss of what to do. Lumine doesn’t budge, shoving him out of the house with a mission to shop for her if he needs an excuse. “Just say I’ve been feeling down and you wanted to get me stuff, or congratulate me on my next performance - then secretly buy stuff for them!”

At the back of his mind, Aether does have to wonder how long Lumine has been silently hoping he’d make a move. It’s not that he doesn’t want to, but you’re always so busy - he didn’t want to add to your stress!

That, and the last time dating was brought up in conversation, you’d smoothly said you weren’t interested in it (little did he know, he was literally the only person that believed that - everyone else giving you a side eye and glanced at Aether, who you obviously had a soft spot for.)

You agreed to help him with his tasks, giving Aether the opportunity to learn more about what gifts you liked and other details that would only come up in long, casual conversations. During that afternoon he learns that you look dazzling under the sunlight, and that he’s definitely in love with your laugh.
