madonna & jane campion are fans of this anti-romcom. many critics, though, thought it was reprehensible because it sentimentalizes stockholm syndrome & its strangely chivalrous nazi protagonist. still, there is real pathos & real romance here ... it's just not for everyone.

Calling all Dirk Bogarde fans

When I first discovered Dirk and starting watching his films, there were about -3 active Dirk blogs on here. Now, happily, there are quite a few and more people are becoming fans all the time. 

So since Tumblr is very inconvenient (in my opinion) for having any sort of group discussion, I though I would make a Dirk centered Discord server. I’ve been keeping an eye (not in a creepy way) on those who post a lot of Dirk content so I’ll bother you all with a tag. If you’ve never used Discord before, don’t worry! It’s pretty easy to pick up and I can say that I am no expert at it, but it gets the job done.

Cats or dogs: I love and have and am currently owning both. I’ve had more cats then I do dogs (I’ve had over 20+ cats over the course of my life while I’ve only had 5 dogs). My pets now consist of 4 cats and one dog. I love both equally.

Favorite Film

In fact, it's one of my favorite Ciarán film.

JANE EYRE (1997) Edward Fairfax Rochester.

Ciarán's performance, as always, is magnificent, captivating! He managed to capture the essence of Rochester like no other!

That of a complex, arrogant and ironic man.

His dry and intelligent sense of humor.

The intensity of his passion, which is not felt in any other adaptation.

.His pain and anger.

His vulnerability.

Two of my favorite scenes are the Rochester duet with Miss Ingram. Hearing Ciarán sing was a delight for me!

And the fire scene ...this photo is worth a thousand words!!!

For all this, for me, Ciarán Hinds IS Edward Rochester!!!
