1. what was your first encounter with fanfiction?

I wish I could remember which fic it was but it was in 2012 when I was knees deep in the 1d fandom and I read something and thought “huh, wonder if I could do something like that’ and wrote a very cringey niall fanfic w/ a possible love triangle with zayn malik! 

2. your favourite creation of your own of all time if you create stuff (feel free to link it) 

uhm, that’s hard because i have a couple but right now i’ve been very proud of my love is fatal fic because it was the first time writing in a different perspective and my first fic in the fandom in almost a year of taking a break from writing!  i also am proud of my first ever reader insert fic with smut, bloody valentine! it was only my second reader insert fic and i was very nervous about posting it. 

3. what vibe are you going for with your home decor (or what vibe do you wanna go for one day, if you don’t have your own place atm)? 

for my future home when i can paint and go all out, i want it to be a mixture of gothic/black witchy vibes. i want to have an altar with herbs and crystals along with a bunch of moon decorations 

4. first fandom you ever joined? what was it like? on what platform did it happen? 

technically, it would be *NSYNC but there wasn’t ‘fandoms’ per say back then so the jonas brothers and even then there wasn’t much of one, so i would say 1d! it was interesting. i don’t miss those days for many reasons, it was mainly on here, facebook and twitter! 

5. what are your sun, moon and rising signs, and do you think they make sense in relation to how you know yourself?

my sun and moon are cancer and rising is gemini. i don’t honestly, i have some cancer tendencies but not 100%. i definitely think i am more cancer than gemini, i’m 100% the mom friend but i won’t hesitate to go off on someone or cut them out completely. i’m brutally honest but at the same time sensitive, i make zero sense lol  

6. if you write and/or read fiction (original or fanfiction), do the tropes/plots/character types you typically seek out to read and/or write about reflect something about you as a being or how you see the world?

my favorite tropes are friends/lovers & enemies/friends/lovers, i like characters who are honest with others (as I am) and aren’t afraid to be who they are. i love writing angst although i tend to go towards the smutty/fluffy fics. i just gravitate towards them 

. 7. what is the hardest obstacle you’ve had to overcome so far in life?

confidence and self doubt; i second guess myself constantly and am almost never confident in any aspect of my life. part of that stems from never feeling good enough

8. what is your all time favourite song(s)?

music is my life; i have a treble clef on my ring finger because i am married to music. i’ll ~attempt~ to keep this short but it wont happen 

spaceship // kesha - for as long as i can remember i’ve felt like an outsider and this song made me feel less along. i’ve always felt like an alien from the moon due to my obsession with the moon and my sign being ruled by the moon. 

say love // jojo - i’ve been in love with this song since 2015 and for many reasons i relate to the lyrics. i thought i could relate to it when i first heard it but as i went through my first heartbreak i learned i related to it more. 

youngblood by 5sos & love + fear by marina - these albums have played such massive roles in my life as i go back to them and listen to them on repeat. i listen to each album without skipping a song 

older than i am // lennon stella - this song was the first song that made me sob in less than a minute of the song. most of my life i have felt so much older than i actually am and i’ve never heard of a song that explained how i felt on the inside. 

9. what do you look for in a person you wanna keep in your life, be it a friend or a romantic partner or anything in between?

i always look for honesty & loyalty but someone who can make me laugh and have deep conversations with are always my favorite. i’ve been through so many ‘best friends’ at this point i just do my own thing. sometimes i feel like a lone wolf and on the flip side i feel like i’ve got a pack with me. 

10. this is a bit of a difficult one, but have you ever had a moment of clarity, a conversation with someone that made you go “oh!”, or anything along those lines?

to be perfectly honest and candid as i have with this entire post, it was when i was diagnosed with the mental disorders i have in 2013. for ages i thought something was ‘wrong’ with me because i had so much going on mentally and nothing to explain it until i was diagnosed. it changed my life and i still see the therapist to this day, she’s been such a huge help throughout the healing process.

2019 iHeartRadio Music Awards Country Nominees

The nominees for the 2019 iHeartRadio Music Awards are in with our pop friends leading the way in nominations, such as Cardi B, Drake, Ariana Grande, Shawn Mendes, Post Malone, Maroon 5 and Imagine Dragons, who have all received multiple nominations this year.

For our favorite country stars, Maren Morris leads the pack with four nominations, three of those are outside the country category. Maren is nominated for Country Song of the Year (“Rich”) and overall Song of the Year, Best Collaboration and Dance Song of the Year for her performance of “The Middle” with Zedd and Grey. Carrie Underwood is also nominated and is going against the male dominated category for Country Artist of the Year. She will be vying for the trophy along with Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Luke Combs and Thomas Rhett.

That's what one admittedly tired Twitter user has realized, overlaying a scene from Captain America: Civil War with the frenzied sounds of a bit from Eichner's yelling-fueled Billy on the Street.

Eichner himself saw the creation, tweeting a link to the original clip, which is a 2013 "Lightning Round" bit from Billy on the Street in which he roams around the streets of New York City with "a pack of wild lesbians," asking screaming at people with questions like, "Who's sexier, Britney Spears or Kesha?" for a dollar.

Eichner also gave Chris "Captain America" Evans the heads up.

She can clearly be seen struggling to hold in her emotion and although she tries to sing through it, she eventually turns her head away as she begins to cry."I should thank you," she said after several attempts to regain her composure, reports Billboard.Kesha is currently embroiled in a legal battle with producer Dr. Luke, who she accused of sexual and emotional abuse, which he denies, during their 10-year working relationship. He then counter sued.In the latest development in the ongoing dispute, Pink and Avril Lavigne signed affidavits indicating their decisions to sever ties with Luke had nothing to do with Kesha’s accusations. This came after Luke filed a lawsuit in which he claimed Kesha's accusations has cost him millions of dollars in work, but according to documents obtained by The Blast, that would not have included sessions with Pink and Avril, who both worked with him in the past. OMG, LOVE! - February

Isn’t it crazy how it felt like January was the longest month, while February flew by in a flash? For me, it seemed like there was a pretty good balance of both productivity and downtime, so I am very thankful for that. I picked up some new loves along the way and am excited to share them with you!

Beauty and Fashion:

Neutrogena Anti- Residue Shampoo - I have my girl Allie Mac to thank for recommending this clarifying shampoo to me! It really helps to de-gunk my hair without leaving it too dried out. I pick mine up at Target.com or Amazon and use it once a week or every other shampoo. 

Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray - I’ve tried a few drugstore setting sprays and while they work well, nothing holds a candle to the All Nighter Setting Spray from Urban Decay. I’ve tested it out on light makeup days and more full faced looks and it always makes my makeup last and look better, longer. I picked mine up in a discounted double pack at Macy’s last summer and just cracked open my second bottle.

Lifestyle:

Greeting Cards at Trader Joe’s - I have always been a strong believer in “it’s the thought that counts” when it comes to greeting cards. I love to give and receive them, but I can’t get behind a $5 or $6 Hallmark card when most of the time they get thrown away after the shared sentiment is received. True story when I was little and I’d make homemade cards, I always drew a crown and UPC on the back, how cute was I?! Anyway, enter Trader Joe’s cards that are 99 cents. LESS THAN ONE DOLLAR PEOPLE! They are on great quality paper and have beautiful artwork and verses on them. I like to pick up a bunch every month or so to have on hand for birthdays, thank yous, anniversaries and just because. Last week when I was picking up a new batch, the associate that was checking me out told me that they are changed each week! I knew they changed a lot because I hadn’t seen the same card twice, but every week! That is amazing and even more reason to love them. 

Amazon + Dollar Store Life Hacks - Two kinda, sorta life hacks that I’ve shared on my Instagram recently (@brit_kotary!) have to do with Amazon and the Dollar Store. Long story short I had a cute, ceramic soap dispenser that I loved but had somehow broken the arm on the pump. I was sad to think about tossing the entire thing, so I jumped on Amazon to see if a separate, stock pump existed that I could get to replace it. Lucky enough I found this one and my little soap dispenser was saved! Always check the ‘zon. The second is to pick up inexpensive disposal rubber gloves at the Dollar Store (I prefer Dollar Tree) and use them when doing dishes and cleaning to help protect and preserve my nicely manicured nails. I also like to check the Dollar Store for things like shower and sink cleaning brushes. They are the same quality as more pricey options and I don’t feel bad about tossing them and buying new ones when they get gross. Do you have any Amazon or Dollar Store hacks or tips? I’d love to hear them!

Food and Bevies:

Hello Fresh - Somehow I am very late on the mailed meals train, but I finally gave Hello Fresh a try in February and had a great experience with it! I love to cook and actually really enjoy grocery shopping (most of the time). I had a promo code for $50 off two weeks (3 meals per week) and found some great new recipes and techniques to add to my cooking repertoire. I can’t justify the regular price for my budget and needs, but I can see how it would be really convenient if you lived in a large, expensive city and getting groceries wasn’t as easy as it is out here in the burbs. My recommendation is if you have a promo or discount code, it’s totally worth checking out and having fun with!

NapTimeKitchen - Earlier this month my PIC Chrissy shared @NapTimeKitchen’s Instagram with me and I am so obsessed, I find myself opening the app just to check if she’s updated! Kate has a great, honest and positive personality and shares the best tips and ideas for cooking, Trader Joe’s shopping and just straight up life. The Greatest Showman - Shoutout to Chrissy #2 for recommending what I believe to be one of the (no exaggeration) best movies I’ve seen in my entire life. If you have not seen this movie yet, run, do not walk to see it while it’s still in theaters. I immediately purchased the soundtrack after seeing it and have been listening to it on #repeat. What are your favorite songs if you’ve seen it? Mine are Come Alive, Never Enough, This is Me and Rewrite the Stars. UGH IT’S ALL SO GOOD!!

A lot of the blogs kept saying these tapes were fire, so we found out. Please enjoy this rare moment of where I put my Diddy hat and matching fur on.

Lorde — Melodrama

I’m so muhfuckin tired of you internet people tellin me that Lorde, who basically only makes music that belongs on FIFA video game soundtracks, is making good music. This is some bullshit. Last night, I thought I was bangin out some whiskeys and was ready to party and tried out this wannabe Avatar background music. Woke up in a daze, night ruined.

And don’t you give me that “you a hating ass asshole I love Lorde” bullshit. I was gettin busy when “Royals” came out just like you were. And then whatever the hell “Green Light” is came on and ruined it. Lorde gon’ stop whisper singin’ on these tracks.

Also idk who told Lorde that this pop art album cover was litty, because this some diet Pablo Picasso ass shit. Ain’t fuckin wit it.

Haim — Something To Tell You

What the actual fuck is this? Most of these artists also just sound the same: like some weird version of whatever ‘80s movies made for white people were. Like, this easily coulda been the opening music for Pretty Woman. “Want You Back” doesn’t even make sense to me. Do you have a fear of forgiveness? Are you too proud? Are you blaming yourself?

We gotta stop telling our kids in grade school they can do anything they set their minds to because then we get shit like this. Seriously tho. I’m tired of the re-incarnation of Hall & Oates making pop music. I listened to “Founded It in Silence” five times by accident before I realized it was playing and not just my heater making noise.

Feist — Pleasure

Before “Pleasure” finally came on, I thought I got an album that didn’t have any music on it. Then when the song started and I spent the next minute not knowing what was actually said. The guitar was dope tho. Can’t hate on that. That fuckin guitar was dope as hell. But if I actually hear the word “pleasure” anymore in the way I have on this album that makes me think I’m in a Brooklyn dive bar with some round glasses ass hipsters wit they stupid turtle faces, I’m finna fight someone.

This album makes me feel like I’ve taken a lot of acid. I’ve never even had acid. Someone send me acid so I can know how I’m supposed to feel for listening to this album. [Editor’s Note: Please do not do this.] But, still. Can’t lie. This guitar is real real dope. Especially on “I Wish I Didn’t Miss You” but that ain’t gonna cut it, fam.

Charly Bliss — Guppy

I can fucks with a lil bit of some good rock music. But this fake ass Paramount [Editor’s Note: I think he meant Paramore but it’s a lot funnier as Paramount so I’m leaving it] sounding ass band wasn’t poppin. The drums was litty tho. New Indie Rock loves to do this thing where it remakes music that was born in the 80s but also the 90s now too. I felt like this coulda been played in Bring It On when Kirsten Dunst was hype because some bro made her a mixtape with his I’m Really Doing Something In Life struggle stubble. Also: Go Clovers.

Guppy wasn’t as bad as Lorde and Haim and Feist, but I just felt like someone was crying to me for 30 minutes. It also isn’t Future, Kendrick, SZA, John Legend, Migos, Badu or anything resembling it. Shit. This ain’t eem Plain White T’s “Hey There Delilah” level litty. [Editor’s Note: (Long, sustained sigh)] This ain’t making me pick up a guitar. Yeen head noddin to this. I can’t keep lettin y’all whine on a track and say you waxin poetic. I fuckin refuse. Empire wouldn’t even play this on they show.

Jason Isbell — The Nashville Sound

This is purely here because in a world where we’ve decided we ain’t fuckin with blatant white supremacy and nationalism (lol, this won’t last), I am triggered by a song titled “The Last Of My Kind.” Also, Isbell getting mad because folks laughed at him in college as a justification for this song is highkey highkey highkey the same reason people comment on Breitbart.

A lot of you On The Internet Money Makin Whites love Margo Price. So because of that (and because OG Willie Nelson was making an appearance) I turned this on expecting non-pretentious and pompous ass country bangers I am accustomed to. Y’all told me this. Y’all told me she was the shit.

Welp.

Somebody call Deputy Raylan Givens and whip up that good wild west bullshit because Margo sound like the soundtrack to Justified. Margo dropped some bars that say “a little pain never hurt anyone” which is a whole lie because I promise you I was reeling from this weak shit.

OG Willie was dope tho. Don’t worry about that.

Taylor Swift — Reputation

But, y’all can’t expect me to think it’s pawpin for Tay Tay in the year of our lord 2017.

Katy Perry — Witness

Listen dog. I used to get it EXTREMELY LIT at high school mixers to some Katy Perry. Ain’t nobody gonna ever tell me Katy Perry wasn’t the white T-Pain at one point in my life. Left Shark is the hero this world needed at a time we didn’t know it. But the song “Swish Swish” which includes a line saying “Swish Swish Bish” featuring Nicki Minaj is one of the worst things created in a year full of some of the worst things ever.

The thing I didn’t expect: Nicki Minaj was actually the second-best thing about as much of this album as I was able to tolerate. Quavo yelling “KATY PERRY,” harmonizing with her in autotune, rapping many random “ayes,” yelling his own name, and randomly saying “Bon Appetit” on “Bon Appetit” is the best thing. [Editor’s Note: This is actually correct.] I need you to notice, the good things here have nothing to do with the person who made the music. If Space Jam and an elevator had a child and it grew to become a singer, it would make this album.

Macklemore — Gemini

Skylar Grey SANG her ass owf on this tape for “Glorious.” But Macklemore following up her vocals with “I’m feelin glorious, the crib lookin Victorian, you know we been goin in, since we hopped out that Dolorean, I’m gone, things are just things, they don’t make you who you are, can’t pack up a UHaul and take it wit you when you gone, we posted on the porch my family glasses to the stars, my grandma smiling down on me like OUU THAT BOY GOT BARS” is the most sickening thing I’ve ever had to take part in.

I don’t know if I’m more mad that another Macklemore album came out or the people who keep letting Macklemore let another Macklemore album come out. The sad part is: Macklemore actually gets some really fire ass beats. But we keep getting some fake ass Eminem verses because nobody gonna tell Macklemore either 1) he can’t rap that well or 2) he can’t rap that well about happy go lucky shit all the time.

Also every single song on this tape except “Ten Million” had a feature. He reverse J. Cole’d himself. What world are we living in.

DJ Khaled & Friends — Grateful

I’m mad at Khaled for several reasons:

I followed him on Snapchat in anticipation to this album

His bit is lowkey tiresome at this point

Asahd is the most handsome baby in the world, which brings envy from my being

The album has 23 songs and is an hour-and-a-half long

The album was no where near any other Khaled bangers out

Khaled hyped this shit up for no good damn reason

That being said, this Khaled tape is probably the best worst tape of the year. “Shining” with Beyonce and her lil’friend is a fun song, and Qween has never made bad music. You’re welcome, Shea Moisture Twitter. “Wild Thoughts” still got me thinking about Havana fwiw even tho Bryson Tiller is the corniest dude alive next to Big Sean. “I’m The One” had me trine buy Bieber Merch and loudly singing said song at many functions. “I Love You So Much” was some cute Disney shit. “On Everything” had me jumpin on people’s couches.

But literally the other 80 percent of the tape is hot ass garbage. Which is super disappointing because a dude with the most Jordans in the world, prettiest baby alive, 18 mansions, superstar friends, and a call log that would envy the Lord hisself should be able to do marginally better than this.

Most times I think Khaled’s music is only good as an audio soporific. Sometimes that’s okay. Not this time. I’ve been deceived. To make up for this: Khaled plz send me some sneakers, Bellaire Rose and Jordan sweatsuits and all will be forgotten. [Editor’s Note: Khaled, don’t do thi... Actually, you know what? Khaled, do this. And throw in a sweatsuit for me.]

We’re good, Khaled. Because at the end of the day: You still better than Lorde.

EXCLUSIVE: RuPaul Dishes on ‘Drag Race’ Season 9 -- How They Landed Lady Gaga and the Move to VH1

Sashay away… to VH1!

RuPaul’s Drag Race is packing up its supply of wigs, heels and duct tape for season nine, relocating from its longtime home, VH1’s sister network, Logo.

“We're on VH1 now, which is in 93 million homes,” RuPaul gushes to ET. “I've been out promoting our show for so many years, trying to get people to come over to Logo … now, sort of my work is made easier by the fact that we're on VH1, where more people have it.”

Being in more homes means more eyes on the show.

“I'm most looking forward to the new eyes who will get to see our show for the first time,” he adds. “I remember, I grew up in San Diego, and back then, it was a very conservative culture, and I couldn't wait to hightail it out of there. My savior was watching Monty Python on PBS. And I thought, there is my tribe right there. That's who I need to go and find.”

“Now, with the kids who get to see our show, they know that their tribe is waiting for them,” he says.

Season nine kicks off with, possibly, the series’ biggest opening ever. Lady Gaga stomps into the workroom as if she’s part of the competition.

“We got Lady Gaga!” RuPaul exclaims. “And she is turnt-ing it … She wrote to me several years ago on Twitter, 'Please! I want to be a judge on your show.' And it's taken us this long to coordinate the schedules so that she could be on.”

“She comes from the club world,” he continues. “She is a class A drag queen, and she'd be the first one to say that. She's great. She knows what she's talking about.”

RuPaul calls Gaga a “brilliant” addition to the judging panel, teasing that this season will see some of the best guest judges in series her-story.

“We get the biggest stars and the greatest fans of our show,” he shares. “People [who] really understand what it's like to be a drag queen. And I'm not just talkin', you know, pussycat wig and a pair of cha-cha heels.”

The just-released trailer previews Kesha, Naya Rivera, Tori Spelling and Lisa Kudrow as some of the familiar faces fans will see in the coming weeks. Of course, there’s always a laundry list of dream guests, too.

“The big issue, as with Gaga, too, is coordinating schedules,” RuPaul laments. “I know that Scarlett Johansson has always been a fan, and she's always said, 'I love the show. I wanna be on the show.'”

“A lot of these people love the show because people in show business understand, more than anyone, that the face you put on when you go on stage, or in front of the camera, is very different from the face you put on to go schlep your dry cleaning around,” he explains. “There's an affinity with that life.”

But don’t expect a bigger network and bigger stars to mean Drag Race will be playing it safe.

“I don't know if you know this or not, but all of our producers are gay!” RuPaul says. “So, keeping things fresh, putting a spin, pulling some fierce, epic stunts. That is in our wheelhouse. Honey, you know, we can always keep it real and keep it exciting.”

The host promises fan-favorite challenges will be back for the new crop of episodes, but also a lot of new twists. He says it’s a “different beast” every year.

“Some of [the contestants] got into drag because of our show,” RuPaul offers. “So, they come in thinking, 'Oh, I got this. I got this.' It's like, think again, doll … we have no problem keeping it exciting.”

RuPaul is also very adamant that the show, and drag in general, will never be “mainstream” -- even if the series did earn him an Emmy for hosting last year.

“I don't do this really [to] snatch trophies,” he admits. “It's a calling. It's my calling. But the trophies are, it's cute. It's cute. I wish it was a cash prize, though.”
