ALIENTECH Kess V3 vs Kess V2 vs Ktag
New KESS V3 is the new original Alientech ECU and TCU Programmer via OBD, Bench and Boot Mode all in a single tool. It combines Kess V2 and ktag into 1 tool, and will be a powerful tool that allows the READING and WRITING of the ECU found in Automobile, Motorcycle, Trucks, Agricultural Vehicles as well as Marine applications by simply connecting the supplied interface cable to the diagnostic port of the vehicle.

What is the difference between Kess V3, Kess V2 and Ktag?
1.Communication Method:
Alientech Kess V3 supports OBD, Boot, and BENCH connection
Kess V2 only supports OBD tuning, and K-TAG supports Bench/Boot tuning.
2.Version Update
KESS3 has two versions: Master and Slave. It can be updated from Slave version to Master version, but others cannot.
3.Separate Car & Bike Protocols
Only Kess V3 supports.
4.Others
Alientech Kess3 uses Alientech Suite while others use K-Suite.
Kess V3 supports upgraded cable set while others use standard cable set.

STAGE 1: No mods are required for this, we will write the map from your stock map off the vehicle's ECU according to dyno proven results. Safety specifications on parts like what psi/bar will the turbo take safely and then adjust according to the mileage making it fully custom.
STAGE 2: This will adapt from stage 1 and will be with modifications which are needed such as diverter vales, induction kits, panel filters, exhaust mods mainly decat and DPF removal and then an upgraded intercooler. (please contact us if DPF removal is required along with decat.
STAGE 3: This again adapts from stage 2 but will require more mods, the more you push the vehicle the less lifespan is expected of it. Stage 3 modifications will be things such as larger/hybrid turbo's, bigger fuel pump, bigger injectors, water meth kits, nos kits, making it more like a track day performance vehicle. Along with this you are going to probably need bigger brake set ups, fast road cams, heavy duty clutches, wider exhaust with no boxes and much more could be added to list. This sort of modifying will 100% need dyno tuning and can not be avoided we can offer this at 2 locations both have 2000hp 4wd dyno's

1. How can I interface and program the control units?
With KESS3 you can program the engine control units (ECU) or transmission control unit (TCU) in three different ways:
OBD – With the OBD mode, you can easily access all the ECU data through the diagnostic socket.
BENCH – With the Bench mode you can access the ECU data directly from the connector
BOOT – With Boot mode, with the engine control unit opened, you could connect directly to all the memories of ECU/TCU.
2. What is the difference between Master and Slave?
As a Master user, you can read the files in clear. This allows you to operate independently in order to remap and reprogram the ECU with modified files. As a slave user, only your master will be able to decrypt your files. (Recommended choice for taking the first steps in chiptuning, supported by your Master)
3. Can I update slave version to Master version?
Yes, you need pay the price difference to update it.
4. I have kess3 slave, if i buy kess 3 master from you, can you bind my slave one to the master? Yes, we can do this 5. Can i activate master license and slave license to the same device? No, you cannot.
6. Can I unbind license if i purchase kess3 from othe dealer, then purchase license from you? No possible to unbind device no matter where you buy the machine. You can only buy license and subscription from your own supplier
7. Can i use the tool if subscription expires? Yes, afte the subscription runs out, you still can use it and will have access to all the protocols you had until its expiration date,but if you want to use the latest update softwrae, you need pay new subscription. And after subscription expires, the VR files not possible. Moreover, won't have access to: - technical assistance - VR function - Cloning - All the online services such as ORI file download.
8. If my subscription expires on 1 Nov, 23, I don't renew it until 1 May 24, when does the new subscription expire?  From day it ran out.
9. If when my master kess3 subscription is due in Oct, 11th, 2023 and l decide not to carry on paying. Can i have all the protocol updates if I pay for the subscription 6 month later? Yes, you will have all protocols from expiry to renewal period.
10. How to check device serial number? SN is on the back of the kess3 unit, or check in AlienSuite software.
11. What types of vehicles are supported?
Alientech supports hundreds of thousands of vehicles. Not only engine control units, but also transmission control units equipped on cars, motorcycles, tractors, trucks and boats. To know all the vehicles that Alientech supports, you can easily consult our vehicle list.
12. I own KESSv2 / K-TAG. How can I get KESS3?
For all our customers who own a KESSv2 or K-TAG product we have created an trade-in program for your instruments. By choosing to replace KESSv2 and / or K-TAG, you will get a discount on the value of your new KESS3 configuration. Discover the discount reserved for you.
13.I am a KESSv2 / K-TAG customer, but the subscription has expired. Can I get the new tool?
Yes, even for you, during the trade-in phase there is an enhancement of the instrument regardless of the validity of your instrument.
14. Are my old KESSv2 / K-TAG accessories compatible with KESS3?
YES. All KESSV2 or K-TAG accessories are and will be compatible with KESS3.
15. I own KESSv2 / K-TAG. Is there an operating deadline?
The K-suite software and the all related services and infrastructures will continue to be updated and totally functional. After your subscription will be expired, it will no longer be possible to download new protocols

Compare with KESS V2 & FGTech Galletto V54, Which one is Better for BMW M5 E60 EDC17 ?
Recently, I have been remapping a 2006 BMW M5 E60. I have heard the MPPS is not suitable for this ,so I decided to buy a better tool.
Not sure if I should go for a Galletto v54 or the Kess V2.
Any advice would be great, ideally I would like to get the one that covers most cars via OBD.
 User suggestion:
I use both, Kess v2 clone + Galletto v54 clone. But I prefer v 54 only because user fredliness and good working stability, no chance to suspend writing file or something else. Kess little bit fussy, and to much moronresistant and used only if V54 will not handle it but in plus a lot better for gasoline engines. V54 in 80% still needs rework after buying but after that works perfect
Buy both they are cheap enough get them reworked and then you have two good tools
Earlier FGTech Galetto 4 didn’t support MSS65 K-line ( E6x V10 Mpower ) . It can only read by CAN which is only LCI E6x . Not sure about kess and the latest Galletto version . Someone can double check please . Some chinese says kess is not working good with K-line .
I think it’s better to have boot clone tools they works on many units, about this ecu i think fg is the Best
Both of them have its pros and cons, it’s up to you to make decision.
I like like KessV2 is Safe, to work with them.
EU kess only sold by resellers of chinese clones…..do the maths buy both kess v2 and galletto v54 Chinese clone tools, have a play, decide which you like best software wise have it reworked, job done FGtech galletto is compatible with more cars IMO kess is more user friendly

Kess V2 is better solution.
EDC17 safer to do on the frame, and some only. KESS V2 and GALLETTO it is a good. If you buy a fake you never know what to do, and if at all something impute.
Galletto V54 works well for boot mode tricore
For me both tools are doing a good JOB – Kess is china clone but i have an original one as well. Just need to update is to Master – because at the moment is SLAVE. FG Galleto V54 is Euro Clone and until now it never ever let me down . Anyway… what i figure it out is that the tools are good and work good but the laptop configuration is quite important. I use panasonic toughbook CF 19 and CF 52. – Never had a single problem with both of them .
Buy a good galletto clone “EU” and no problems, very stable.
The fg have no cs correction in edc17 kess have . Kess v2 is better tool for now.

On MED17 with KESS V2 Master can’t do full read. File is somehow encrypted. With Galletto is fine.
My KESS is reworked and work great as original. I just say if I do full read (backup) the file is encrypted.

 All in all, They both have large support for many cars, but they do tuning via different method. FGTech V54 has BDM function, whole KESS V2 does not. KESS V2 has Anti-mediation lock module, and it can do new and encrypted cars better than FGTech V54.
