OH BOY TIME FOR-.. blake.. god I wanna send jaunes bio since it's done... But I can't ignore Blake.. she's a main character and while I would love to get rid of her and replace her with Illia.. that's not really a sign of good writing for someone doing a rewrite.. plus it ain't far to the people who like Blake (all 5 of em)
Enjoy Blake's bio for RWBY fate, I actually really wanted to cook with this one.
Blake Gabrielle Belladonna
Age:18-20
Sex: female
Aura color: black with hints of purple
Faunus trait: ears of cat before later developing a cat tail and fur covering parts of her face, and her arms after accepting her heritage fully.
Semblance: “shadow step”. Blake has the ability to create after images of both herself and her teammates, these after images can perform simple actions such as grabbing and throwing, with these shadows also has the unique ability to see through their eyes if she concentrates. However as all semblances do they drain aura, and while Blake's semblance doesn't drain a hefty amount, with a clone being rather cheap if it is not given an action, shadows that perform an action require a little more Aura, and seeing through a shadows eyes is even more expensive. Add that with the fact keeping these shadows constant passively consumes aura, Blake must be extremely careful with her semblance because small losses of aura can stack up quickly.
Weapon: gambol shroud (originally a simple sword wielded by her great grandmother who started the white fang, Blake has modified with a pistol, as well as attaching a tether that Blake can run her semblance through to great a shadow finger which pulls the weapons trigger)
Description: faunus by themselves are divisive, with the amount of types there are and how their traits behave, this subspecies of man is already not loved due to how different they are, but when it comes to Blake and her mixed heritage, her mother as human and her father a cat faunus, Blake feels as if she doesn't fit in, in either world, especially considering her father is the leader of the faunus’s “Kingdom” menagerie. Blake has developed a feeling that due to her heritage she can't fully understand her father's people, however she winds up meeting a person she once called her best friend, the adoptive son of her father's apprentice. This boy named Adam wound up becoming fast friends with Blake, seeing her as she was, a fellow person. Adam at the time was someone would call a good person however as they grew older and her father begrudgingly took up the role of the leader of the white fang once more, Blake saw Adam delve into a world of violence, serving as a member of the white fang, fighting against faunus traffickers and trying to cripple organizations who had oppressed the faunus, at first there was almost no casualties, all under the order of Blake's father, “do not take any lives, we fight, not slaughter”. However during a mission gone wrong which Blake was never given the details on, not only did her father leave the white fang, but Adam was branded with the symbol of the sdc… this changed him. Blake later joined the white fang against her father and mothers wishes and was appointed to Adams group by the new leader, Sienna Khan. However the more missions she took, the more she saw how far Adam, and the white fang was falling. On one train heist in particular she winds up abandoning the group, cutting her team and Adam from the rest of the train which was headed straight to vale. She would quickly go into hiding, fearing the consequences of being a deserter, she would eventually decide to attend beacon academy, not to hide, but to try and find herself, to find a new purpose. Unbeknownst to her, her past and her heritage are still hot on her trail, and soon she will have to accept her role as the future leader of the faunus, and what it means to fight against oppression.
..yeah I also may have altered a bit of the faunus's lore and how they operate which I can elaborate on if anyone wants.
Thank you for acknowledging my existence. I agree her character hasn't improved since Volume 3, but neither has most of the main cast. But I'm gonna stop there before I get another fucking ulcer defending Blake...
Oh! Changing the Faunus, eh? So, we're going for a sorta Zoan Fruit Awakening route where the more intuned to herself, the more catlike she becomes? Alright, I getcha. Could be some nuance developed for her character this way, or maybe even show what a failed awakening looks like (in Adam).
So Blake has literal shadow clones? Okay... I see... Honestly, I'm just remembering that scene in Dragon Ball Z Abridged when Goku is fighting Cell and the afterimage passes through him.
Ooh~! I like the sword origin AND the clone combo! Honestly, this could play into her being called a hypocrite for seeking to topple the Schnee Dust Company, which has a nepotistic hierarchy, while also being a third generation White Fang member with TWO family members who were High Leaders. She insists she's not like them, despite her trying to lead the White Fang to NOT blow a train of orphans just because there's a briefcase of dust eight cars away.
OH~! So Kali is human, which is kind of a nod to the in-lore rule that Faunus have Faunus children, even when one parent is human, much like Velvet, BUT also plays into the story of the God of Animals, in which the Faunus were despised by humans AND animals after their creation. I can imagine Kali isn't treated well by any Faunus other than Ghira and Blake because she's human.
I'm kinda curious to see where you go with this.

Jan 20, 2024
Since my last writing about two and a half weeks ago, I've packed up, moved 6 hours away to school, unpacked and moved in, and had a whole week of classes! Well almost whole, it was a 4 day week.
I am doing,, just okay. I am so excited to be back on campus and in school. But I feel super behind since I've failed so many classes previously, and took basically 3 semesters off. I'm essentially a 22 year old 3rd year. I've been a student in this school for five years. I was supposed to graduate this year, but I have two more years left, at minimum. Some of the kids I have classes with were highschool freshmen when I was a college freshman. I feel self consious and ashamed about that.
I also feel like i'm already behind in some classes after only two actual class sessions (tues/thurs and wed/fri classes). I didnt get as much studying done as I would've liked in those five weeks that i time blocked (But getting into time blocking was definitely worth it, thats helping me so much).
I haven't had to do any actual math in TWO YEARS. I celebrated taking the "last math class of my life", completely forgetting that I need to take a calc-based physics class. Now im struggling in class to find the sides of a triangle with sohcahtoa 😭 If i don't glue my eyeballs to khan academy i'm gonna be a wreck trying to integrate and find derivatives.
And one class has an "Assignment 0" which is just downloading and setting up all the software we're gonna be using, and just trying to clone my gitlab repository took me several hours to figure out.
All the deadlines and assignments and quizzes and project dates has my head spinning. One class requires you to upload your notes to the lecture video before every single class (m/w/f class, so 3 times a week), and its something like 10% of your final grade. Idk i just think thats stupid lol. And I can't help but write notes differently when i'm concious of the fact that someone else will be reading them :/
But I will be studying hard, and getting stuff done early as to not fall behind.
That was academics, now onto my roommates.
I was placed in a random campus apartment with 3 other roommates. We each have our own room, but share the living room and kitchen. They're nice and i want to be their friend so bad, but I'm so socially awkward and i don't know how to make friends 😭. The thing is, I'm coming into "their" apartment mid-academic year, and thats only because their other friend moved out for an internship or something, so I got put in the vacant room. They're already a little friendgroup, the three of them plus the friend that moved out which they're still in group chats with. They might've even know each other before living here, they seem pretty close.
They're not intentionally excluding me or anything, but everytime i'm chatting with them it feels so awkward, and when I go back to my room and I can hear their fun conversations finally ignite. They talk about their mutual friends, and their parents, and plans to roadtrip. Then I go back out to fill my water bottle or make tea or something, mostly an excuse to join their conversation, and the conversation goes back to quiet and polite. I know I act the same way around new people as well, so its not their fault, but I dont know what to do, how to get around this. I heard them from my room talking about anime, and I so badly wanted to join them, but I didn't know how to do so naturally without creeping them out like I was eavesdropping their convo the whole time. You can only go fill your waterbottle so many times.
Its already the end of week 1 and i've barely talked to them. I'm afraid if we don't get more friendly soon, as time progresses, we'll get more stuck in the same routine and we'll only be able to be awkward and quiet around each other for the rest of the semester. I want to suggest we order some food tonight and maybe watch a movie, but idk is that weird? To suggest out of nowhere and not really knowing them? And theres no TV so we'd have to watch on someones laptop. Aughhhh idk. Plus I really need to get started on all this work i already have. Maybe i'll suggest it next weekend.
I'm already planning on making cookies for everyone tomorrow. A freshly baked cookie is the way to friendship, surely?

Let Molly Punch Wolverine: Why I’m worried about X-Men appearance in Runaways
I want to preface this by saying that I have strong trust in Rainbow Rowell and while I am behind her series due to financial and pandemic related reasons, I trust her to deliver the best story she is allowed to. The worries I express below come from the fact I do not trust X-Men editorial and Jonathan Hickman enough to believe they will allow her to tell the best story.
The way I see it, Runaways are the quintessential Millenial comic in that it perfectly captures Millenial generation’s disillusionment with world and society built by Baby Boomers. A disillusionment that was to be expected in face of failiure of American defenses to prevent 9/11, the government and mass media wholeheartely embracing islamophobia and homophobia in it’s wake and American war crimes in Afghanistan and Iraq, on top of myriad other problems that were already present in the 00s and only got worse as we went ahead.
This is not seen just in the core premise of the original series, the idea that the parents kids are taught to respect and look up to are actively evil and damning the world for their own benefit. But also in the general potrayal of adults and adult superheroes in the series, who are mostly useless or outright malicious in case of Doc Justice. Sole exception being somewhat Spider-Man, who himself is portrayed as having gone through what Runaways have and so having insight and empathy other adults lack.
While that theme has become more gray over the years, as Runaways managed to gain a good footing with teachers and students of Avengers Academy alike, and Nico and Victor were on Avengers offshot teams, even then it was clear that the older heroes are not these perfect ideals too look up to, but flaved in their own way. Entire Avengers A.I. is about fixing one of Hank Pym’s screwups and A-Force’s premise is the team doubles as a support group, every member having gone through traumatic experience in the past and being on different stages of healing process (not to mention how it crashed and burned due to mistakes made by Carol in Civil War II). Even X-Men themselves started as outright antagonistic to Runaways under BKV. And then uder Yost went into the mutual “MAYBE they aren’t THAT bad” relationship with Runaways. Every meeting so far had Molly punch Wolverine.
Tumblr media
In current series most of the team moved from teenagers to young adults and their experiences still reflect those of late Millenials. There is this feeling in current series of powerlessness, Runaways making it to the adulthood only to find all it gets you is more problems and all ability to fix the world have been systematically wrestled from your hands by the very people who broke it just so that you cannot fix their mess. It is a story about trying to live in a messed up world with that realization and how your found family can help you carry on whatever it will throws at you. I think in this way is why I can turn a blind eye on things like Nico in Strange Academy - it makes sense she would want to at least try to help kids who are going through what she did to not have as much a hard time. And, you know, Strange didn’t invite A NAZI WHO ACTUALLY WORKED AT AUSCHWITZ WITH MENGELE to help him run the school.
I do not beleive X-Men editorial can play along with that. Right now X-Men and their fandom are at the height of drinking their own kool-aid, portraying their stupid sex island as the msot perfect and best thing ever, to the point they ignore the blatantly fashy things happenning like making up new minority groups (precogs and clones) to oppress, or abovementioned inviting of Nazis, mass murderers and islamophobic crusaders who want to “take back Jerusalem”. They are so into the “mutants are a minority” metaphor that they outright demand that every other book touching on it portray negatively anyone who does not immediatelly bows down at their feet. Something we have seen in X-Men interactions with Fantastic Four, where Sue Storm’s legitimate complaints about X-Men’s current position are caricaturized to cast her in a “uniformed homophobic mom” stereotype just to keep the metaphor working. Even in Fantastic Four’s own book. In wake of this I can somewhat see why the infamous “Franklin is not a mutant” retcon took place.
I cannot beleive that current X-office could allow X-Men to be shown in a way that adheres to themes of Runaways. I mean for Pete’s sake, look at their treatment of New X-Men Academy X - another Millenial at heat series. And another one that tackles disillusionment of that generation with Baby Boomers’ run world with its own 9/11 equivalent in form of a terrorist attack that killed many of its students and traumatized the rest. It is a known secret editor Jordan White considers this a “mistake” because it made old X-Men look bad. And under him in particular X-Books had a history of undermining and derailing NXM kids to show them as inexperienced, dumb kids who never had any hardships and do not know what it really takes to be an X-Man, who see it as all the glamour and no work. All in spite of the fact they may have suffered more than all their elders except Karma, writers’ favorite punching bag. Now the books are outright lobotomizing the surviving kids while bringing back dead ones not to explore any stories with them or how such return could affect the ressurected and their friends alike and maybe allow a possibility to heal. No, this is done solely to erase that massacre from ever happenning because it make Jordan White’s heroes look bad.
I’m supposed to believe this editorial will allow Cult Sex Island to be shown as imperfect or not a place that would “obviously” be much better for Molly? That it will allow Runaways to not be cast as “bigots” for not wanting to handle Molly to “real family” (as determined by genetics) same way X-Men treated Fantastic Four? As things stand now X-Men, a franchise and fandom that is ever entitled to special treatment to the point it cried Marvel wants to bury them when having “only” four books a month. One that has demanded for Kamala Khan to be handed over to them and made a mutant just to spite Inhumans over some perceived slights. A fandom that has wished death members of every superhero team with a mutant who refuses to hand the mutant over and celebrated brutal murder of a kid with a reprogrammed Sentinel. This blind entitlement is not jsut a fandom thing but also infects creatives working on it. Need I remind you how Jason Aaron made a big deal out of making Firestar join the X-Men? He took a character who canonically didn’t care much for the team and wanted to do her own thing and retconned her to be a total fangirl who dreamed of joining but was never before truly “worthy” of this “honor”. Right now we have more and more evidence every franchise interacting with X-Men needs to bow down and play a secondary role to it. but the respect here is a one-way street, Jonathan Hickman outright complains about having to adhere to work of other writers. I have absolutely zero trust that editorial will not try to force the story in Runaways to also be worshiping the ground X-men walk on. Worst case scenario they insert themselves like they did with Fantastic Four, becoming recurring plot thread and casting rest of Molly’s family as evil for not wanting her to join what is effectively a cult.
I wish I’m being wrong here. I do not want Runaways to become a glorified advertisement to a bigger franchise that has become souless and vile and whose fans turned into bullies. I have faith in Rainbow Rowell but that faith is outweighted by my distrust in Jordan White and Jonathan Hickman and their egoes. I hope I’m wrong. All I want is a story that ends with X-men fucking off and Molly staying with her real family, the Runaways. And of ocurse, her punching Wolverine. Which I do not trust White and Hickman to allow either.
Tumblr media
PS: Some of you are probably already typing some sort of “if you don’t like the X-men, just don’t read them” response. To you I say: I would be glad too. Too bad they keep forcing themselves into things I actually like. Like a mold. Which is a good metaphor for what this old, gross thing the franchise has become.

Plots please!
⤏ send me “plots please” … || @therapardalis || accepting, but slow af.
Pros: This is a lot more than three.
Cons: Basically none of these are fleshed out ideas.
Star Trek au: So because I still have this stored away in my drafts (I’m so sorry I take ages to do anything), I was thinking that since Thera had the misfortune of being assigned to Khan—let’s face it, likely as a glorified babysitter—and as John Harrison he’s designing the Vengeance, what if he discovers her proficiency for weapons design and requests her assistance with the project? This can be because he has some nefarious purpose (someone else to manipulate? Maybe gain her sympathy for his situation?) or because…. Well, anything. Maybe she’s the only person he can tolerate and he’s tired of lackeys that don’t know what they’re doing but Admiral Marcus won’t let him work unsupervised.
Star Trek au 2: Alternatively, Thera in her post-academy career is still a glorified babysitter, but this time it’s part of some type of reform program. I.e. Into Darkness went with a little less violence/destruction and instead of being put back into cryo, Khan has to prove himself as a… less psychotic person. Or maybe he’s still awaiting trial and is in a bit of a “you’re still a criminal but here’s some freedom, you just have to be supervised” sort of thing.
Star Wars au: Just a basic idea. During Thera’s career as a smuggler, perhaps she gets a high-profile job transporting some frozen soldiers? Or, well, just the one, but he’s the worst one. Then something happens, because it always does—an attack? An infiltration? The cryo-tube just decided to malfunction (it is pretty old)—and now she has to deal with an angry, disgruntled ex-soldier. This would be the very beginning of my general Star Wars verse for Khan, so he doesn’t have an over-arching plan yet. Like I said, a basic idea, aahhhh.
Star Wars au 2: I have two brain cells and they both say Clone Wars era Thera and Khan doing Clone Wars era stuff. (I have a CW-specific verse, wherein Khan is an ARC-Trooper). Fighting together? Yes. Suffering together? Double yes.
Mad Max au: Khan knows about the Teg-Hold, mostly from rumours, but hadn’t sought it out until now. His compound is running into trouble and he is running out of resources. He’s unwilling to cow down to Immortan Joe, Aunty Entity, and the like due to pride and the desire to keep his “family” safe without relying too much on outside help. So maybe he seeks out the Teg-Woman and the Hold for technology he can either trade for or replicate back home.
Prohibition au: All I can think about is occasional club singer Thera popping up enough around piano-playing Khan that they become friendly. I don’t want to presume anything about your muse, but I’m guessing she wouldn’t be about to turn him in for bootlegging. I don’t think a literal immortal guardian would have much fear about becoming involved with him somehow (in any way, as an acquaintance, friend, etc).
Final Fantasy VII au: listen I don’t know, I’m so bad at plotting but my eyes went as wide as saucers when I saw you had a verse for this. I do too and I’ve never used it but maybe one day poor Thera is dragged out of the archives and has to deal with going on a mission with G-type soldier Khan.
Witcher au: There are sooo many memes I’ve sent you in this verse that I have in my drafts fskljfsd so here’s a basic idea (the plot meme said it could be basic okay): Witcher!Khan meets her because he needs to get somewhere, so employs her for her sailing skills. Regarding Elf!Khan, if Thera grew up near Brokilon Forest, maybe she met him there? Possibly in childhood?
