Something like that, idk lol

🧡Chief Bakugo, The most feared and merciless man known across all the land. Only those in his tride know what he looks like due to him killing whoever comes into his path.

🧡You were the exception.

🧡Your small village was just starting to make a name for itself due to the abundance of crops the small area was able to produce. It started bringing in merchants that brought money that bought supplies to expand and advance the architecture.

🧡You were one of the people that proposed the idea of monopolizing the abundance of crops and building up the town more. You were quite proud of all your small town had accomplished, until it caught the attention of a certain tribe.

🧡Bakugo only wanted to attack your village for the food. If he managed to take most of it that would feed his tribe for about a month. He would be foolish not to go and take it.

🧡His tribe moved in the darkness, loving the element of surprise. They took joy from watching the chaos, death, and pain take place.

🧡When they reach your village everyone was softly sleeping. Bakugo had the honor of starting the chaos while part of his tribe collects their goal. Bakugo starts the small flame on the dry house that spred.

🧡Screams came from the houses with people trapped inside while others begin to panic and run like panicked rodents.

🧡The rest of his tride takes the opportunity to grab the people darting around an have their way with them. Plain killing, slow torture, brutal raping, all in the harsh glow of the fire raging on.

🧡You tried to think rationally while trying to avoid capture. You had few ties to people in the village and they weren't the strongest so you had nothing tying here. You could easily run away and live but you need something to help sustain you.

🧡Creeping through the shadows, you made it to the crops. You were disappointed to see the remaining crops trampled but glad some were left.

🧡You tried your best to collect as much as you could but you were harshly interrupted by the harsh pulling of your hair.

🧡You were found.

🧡Spikey blonde hair, strong arms, deep red eyes, bare chest decorated with battle scars and blood of your fellow villagers. Handsome, yes but you couldn't be caught in this siren song of a man.

🧡You thrash and curse him, desperate to escape while he let's out a deep chuckle at your pitiful attempt. It was cute how you tried so hard... you were quite good looking too...

🧡He throws you over his shoulder with ease, not caring for your threats. He liked how fierce you are and your looks were definitely a deciding factor. He looked forward to seeing how you would fight him.

🧡Bakugo carries you to his tribe, gaining very confused looks along the way. He responds with a very aggressive "What the hell are you looking at!?" before tieing your hands and feet too and setting off.

🧡Along the way your talking grew tiresome so he tied your mouth shut with a piece of cloth. It helped silence your anger as Bakugo fondled and smacks your rear.

🧡Everyone was jealous that Bakugo took a plaything with him. They all had sadistic fantasies they had the simply couldn't be acted out within the short time they were allowed to, so why did he get to take you?

🧡His firsthand man walks beside him, hands reaching out with lust. He thought being second in command gave him the right to touch Bakugo's captive.

🧡In a swift movement his head was exploded by the hand of Bakugo.

🧡Everyone froze, terrified and confused. Bakugo looked at his followers and told them if they dare lay a finger on you they'd suffer.

🧡You were terrified and pleased. Not only did you have protection against all these barbarians, you could potentially have the opportunity to bend things to your will with the fear this man already invoked. Downside he could have his way with you and no one would stop him.

🧡By the time you arrive at their base you had severe rope burn on your legs, arms, and mouth. When Bakugo threw you onto his bed and took off your restraints all you could do was slowly move. The pain of the air hitting your raw skin paralyzed you.

🧡You barely noticed how Bakugo watched to, scanned your every move before simply walking off.

🧡You growl in annoyance and yell at him for thinking he could just leave you. Not only did he kill everyone you knew and kidnapped you he was about to leave you while you were in pain. If you were a hostage atleast it a nice experience!

🧡He smirks and creeps towards you like a predator to prey. He asks who exactly do you think you are. You stayed silent as you sent him death glares.

🧡You are his. Simple as that.

🧡He inspects your injuries with great interest before walking over to the far side of the room. Within a few minutes he's back at your side with a rag and a medicinal smelling goop.

🧡He puts the rag in your mouth and starts to care for the burns. It was smart to that rag in your mouth because if not the whole tribe would've heard you howl in pain. He wasn't the most gentle and the goop stung.

🧡By the end of it you had tears running down your face whether you wanted them or not.

🧡Bakugo takes the rag from your mouth and wipes his hands off before sitting next to you. He pets your hair in a way that bordered mocking and sweet as he wiped you tears. He said no pet of his should show weakness.

🧡You scoff and try to scoot away from him but before you could get far your he pushes your head down into the bed. Oh, how the soft whimpers you made excited him.

🧡He growls into your ear about how you are his and he will do whatever he wants with you.

🧡You lay there once he leaves, trying your hardest to make a successful plan of escape.

🧡You managed to fall asleep somehow but what shocked you more was how Bakugo woke you up. It was shocking gentle with the offering of food.

🧡Due to your arms being injured and not wanting to eat Bakugo takes it upon himself to force feed you. While he's doing this he explains how annoying you are for making him feed you. You retort with asking for someone else to feed you.

🧡He didn't like that.

🧡He quickly shoves the rest of the food into your mouth, nearly choking you, before threatening the lives of his tribe and then yours. He was very against anyone interacting with you.

🧡Later that night he traps you with his bear arms. Comforting, yes but you didn't want to be held by him. You squirm, careful not to hurt yourself, but he only pulls you closer and tighter.

🧡As a last resort you bite down hard on his shoulder, only to get a low and rumbling laugh from him. You couldn't understand why he was laughing, you could taste his blood!

🧡You suddenly feel his hot breath on your neck, asking if that was supposed to hurt, before you feel his teeth sink into the crook of you neck.

🧡You bite your lip to hide the pain. If he could take it so could you.

🧡Unhappy with that reaction Bakugo continues to bite your neck and shoulders, harder with every bite.

🧡You somehow manage to keep all noises to yourself. You were proud and delirious considering the pain was now starting to turn into pleasure. It was short lived though since you passed out from the exhaustion and possibly blood loss.

🧡When you wake up you were all bandaged with food waiting for you beside the the bed. Cute but you weren't falling for a sadistic kidnapper.

🧡Thus, a cycle was born.

🧡For the most part you spend most of the day within his room, occasionally walking around the base with Bakugo at your side. He's gone most mornings and afternoons but is sure to bring you the respective meals. He always eats with you for dinner. The most interesting parts of you day happen when he's cuddling you, besides the killing of someone who accidentally brushed against you.

🧡At night Bakugo always starts something or returns whatever you do to him, like the biting. Most everything he does involves physical pain that fades into pleasure but by then you pass out.

🧡You were over this.

🧡That night you had managed to sneak a dagger into the room without him knowing.

🧡Once he got close enough you tried to stab him but he caught you hand. He chuckles with a dangerous glint in his eyes as he tells you this is the reason he likes you.

🧡He shoves you down and shreds your clothes, leaving you exposed and angry. You were quickly gagged with the remains of your clothes as he began gently trailing the dagger across your skin.

🧡He calls you a slut and a dirty little brat that didn't deserve his dick in you. He also begins to cut a tiny bit deeper, gently breaking the skin and leaving droplets of blood in its wake.

🧡Oh how you hated how much you enjoyed this.

🧡Skin pressed against skin, names carved into you, hot breath trailing up your thighs, pleasure and pain mixed in perfect harmony.

🧡Climax after climax and you were on the verge of passing out when you hear him threaten not being as nice next time.

Louis the Reaper - Part 3

This is a continuation of the AU I came up with for Halloween, where Grim Reapers are real in the Beastars world and Louis is one of them.

Part 1 Part 2

Still going through the list of Cherryton students who know Louis personally (and who would be affected by the truth about Louis...)

Dom: Louis doesn't know quite enough about him to have an impression apart from him being devoted to the production's stage management. He does, however, commend Dom for that devotion as the job of managing the stage crew, which comprises multiple functions and thus requires proficient coordination, is not an easy task. It actually brings him back to the times he shared with his lost love. It had already been so long that recalling everything about her gets harder by the day, but there are some things about her that Louis will never forget. Every moment spent with her had filled him with so much purpose, making him see more and more of the many treasures that comprise the legacy of life; with every soul he guides after they pass, the more he appreciates how they've lasted until the very end. If Dom were to learn of Louis being an immortal reaper, he would call into question the whole meaning behind his place in the Drama Club. He's left wondering what exactly is drama when considering the fact that he was doing all this hard work keeping the spirit of the stage when the one giving him directions transcended the arts and everything else. Creating a stage environment may be comparable to an act of creation, but seeing Louis as the most powerful agent within creation he's ever seen, Dom can't quite process that all of this is real, no matter how many times he thinks it over.

Tao: Louis mostly saw Tao as a well-behaved carnivore, as he usually preferred carnivores to be. Since Tao never really did anything to warrant any sort of special attention, Louis was content to let him stay in the background. He did, however, observe how attentive Tao was to doing things right according to how cooperative he was as a member of the Drama Club - he even put an effort into trying to be as close and friendly a comrade in the club could be and seemed to love being a part of the club. In some sort of way, Louis secretly envies Tao for that attitude for two reasons - 1.) Louis wishes he could embrace his reaper job as much as he used to and 2.) Seeing Tao have an easier time working within the system of the club makes him feel guilty for possessing a will far too strong for his own good. If Tao were to learn of Louis being an immortal reaper, he would very likely become entirely fearful. Tao is a carnivore who was always conscientious of how he acted around both his carnivore and herbivore friends, but with Louis being a reaper, he can only question how exactly can he behave around him with no problems. After all, could Louis even be considered an herbivore, or even an animal, at this point? Such a question even Louis himself wonders.

Kibi: Louis perceived Kibi as a sort of happy-go-lucky kid who cooperated in club activities with as much fun as a child willing to learn would. While Louis isn't entirely sure how to embrace and incorporate Kibi's positive outlooks into the Drama Club as a whole in terms of strengths, he can't help but feel a warmth in his heart. Everything Kibi did made Louis remember the kind of reaper he once was and wished he could be when he began his tenure. If Kibi were to learn of Louis being an immortal reaper, he initially might be afraid. But after taking a little bit of time, he would simultaneously become curious of how and why exactly a supernatural being would involve himself in a club for mortals, let alone hide there in plain sight. The Drama Club may be one that is inclusive of both carnivores and herbivores of all species, but this is just too much!

Chapter 6 - A Wind Of Change

The Grim Reaper and a distressed mistress were running quickly through the dark forest. As they were moving, branches and leaves kept brushing them wildly as if they were trying to hold them captive until the chasers would eventually reach and capture them both.

‘Why are they chasing me, Grim Reaper?’ the mistress asked.

‘Because you were supposed to have died three days ago” the Reaper said without even looking back.

Suddenly, the Reaper flung his sword and cut one of their chasers in half. The poor soulless demon let out a lifeless sigh before its death.

‘Water, Wind, Fire… The forces of nature all want you dead.’

‘Then… These entities are a part of them?’

‘Yes… This is a fight against fate.’

Our heroes were cornered. As the demons were closing in, the Reaper hid the mistress behind his cape to protect her. He took out his sword and looked their enemies in the eye.

‘Stay behind me. Killing you… is my job. Until then, I won’t let anyone lay a finger on you.’

And with that the Reaper lunged out to fight!

‘Okay, that’s it for Scene 15. We will now take a break’ said Sanu, the president of the Drama Club, shattering the tension into a million pieces. Sanu was a third-year Pelican student in Cherryton Academy. He was elected to be president just as he became a second-year but has known many of the members from way before. He used to be a background actor in many plays but never appeared again after becoming president. He always made sure to let the creativity and emotions flow freely in the club while maintaining its integrity and improving the relationships of the members.

‘What? Why, Sanu?’ Louis asked with audible dismay in his tone. ‘We’ve never taken a break in a rehearsal before.’

‘Oh… Well, it’s just going to be 30…’ he swallowed his words after seeing Louis’ expression ‘I… I mean 15 minutes.’

Sanu walked up on stage to Louis. He leaned close to him and started whispering.

‘You know, Louis, we’ve known each other for a long time now. I can tell that your movements are... how should I put this… a bit stale. Are you feeling well?’

‘Quit whispering Sanu. I’m perfectly fine.’ Louis replied. He then turned to the other members present on stage. ‘This performance is the most important part of the New Student Welcome Event. We need to show all of the new students the importance of the Drama Club, so we have no time to worry about our physical condition’ he said while he wiped the sweat off his forehead and neck with his towel.

Louis hanged his towel on his antler then bent over a bit, to rest a little. He turned his head towards the other students on the stage and glared at them with flaming irritation in his eyes.

‘Next time attack me like you mean it. I’m a deer as Adler, and you’re all carnivores, attacking Adler with the intent to kill. That’s what we are going to portray when we get on stage, so we need to be as fierce as we possibly can.’

Taking advantage of the break, Louis walked backstage to relax his foot a little. It was still sore and while the medications were certainly helping, the fact that he didn’t put on his bandages in order to avoid any awkward questions definitely didn’t help. He was in a lot of pain. He could feel his ankle pulsating, radiating the pain from the injury to nearby areas as well. He wanted to scream, but he couldn’t.

‘Sanu is right… My movements are not perfect this time. I can’t put too much weight on my leg if I want to avoid any further problems. However, a perfect performance is expected from me, so I’ll give them just that. Even if it means that I’ll hurt my leg even more!’ he thought.

He suddenly heard Sanu’s voice.

‘All right everyone, break is over, we’re beginning from Scene 16!’

And with that, Louis put on his act of being completely fine and went back on stage to play his other part, Adler, the Grim Reaper.

Meanwhile, the stage crew was busy making the finishing touches on the costumes backstage.

‘What? A break from rehearsal? We’ve never had a break before!’ Dom said with surprise in his voice.

Dom was a third-year peafowl student. He was the leader of the Drama Club’s stage crew. Although he was a long-time member, he never had any ambitions on becoming an actor nor the president of the club. He was always perfectly fine with sewing costumes. He had great talent at it. His costumes always turned out to be vibrant and lively – and yet, comfortable. He had aspirations on becoming a fashion designer in the future.

‘Well yeah, but I haven’t heard all the details. Kibi hurried me because the boxes we were carrying were really heavy’ Legoshi said.

‘Yeah, but Louis is always excited when the performance is coming close. I can’t even imagine how frustrated he must have been’ Kibi, an ant eater member said.

As the conversation was going on, Kai’s face – who was directed to be part of the stage crew instead of the acting crew – became more and more red by the second. Deep down he was still sure that he should’ve been approved as Tem’s replacement as he knew the script by heart and had way more practice in acting than Zoe.

‘Damn it!’ he yelled ‘I was supposed to be rehearsing with all of them, not sewing in this dark place!’

‘Oh, Kai, I think you have a good sense of design. I’m happy that you’re part of the stage crew’ Dom said with a soft smile on his face.

‘Oh… Really? Do you mean it?’ Kai asked excited.

‘Of course!’

In the meantime, Legoshi was digging for some extra yarn in a box next to him, when he suddenly found a white and gold vest, which was part of Tem’s costume.

‘This is Tem’s costume’ he said. The others looked at him in surprise. ‘What should I do with it?’ he continued.

‘Well…’ Fudge, the red panda began ‘We can’t just keep it here forever, you know.’

‘Look, Legoshi, Tem is dead so it’d be creepy if we still kept it around!’ Kai yelled at him in frustration. Legoshi’s ears drooped.

‘Tem was killed and devoured by one of the carnivore students in this school’ Legoshi thought. ‘That is the biggest taboo an animal can commit in this world. That’s why none of the others want to dwell on that incident. There’s a bottomless pit of darkness lurking in this world. Now I understand the meaning of what Louis said. The meaning of why he is acting so fiercely as Adler. He must be the one, who is confronting the reality of that incident the most. He has the ambition to be the next Beastar, so he needs to take center stage in the world of carnivores and herbivores. I can’t even imagine the pressure he must…’ his thought was interrupted.

‘Legoshi! Legoshi!’ Dom yelled at him. ‘Were you listening?’

‘Oh! Umm… Yeah!’

‘You were spacing out again, weren’t you?’

‘Maybe…’ Legoshi said, while looking to the side. His ears drooped a little, too.

‘All right, well, we were talking about bringing flowers from the Gardening Club. I want to use roses as the motif for the final act and decorate the assembly hall and entrance, too. Look.’

Dom held up a drawing of what he imagined. It was beautiful. Large bouquets of red and white roses – ones with only a singular color, others mixed together to symbolize the two sides of the play, good and evil. It looked wonderful and grand – and Legoshi believed that it would’ve smelled amazing, too!

‘There should be plenty of roses in the Gardening Club, and I want you to help’ Dom said.

‘You mean… with decorating?’ Legoshi asked.

‘That and with getting the roses from the Club.’

‘Are you sure that I should go? I mean, this whole incident and all… I don’t want to scare anyone…’

‘I think you should’ Kibi said. ‘You’re a second-year high school student, so you ought to improve your social skills.’

‘Well, okay then. But you’ll have to come with me, too.’

The Gardening Club was a long walk from the Drama Club, since it was on the rooftop of a building at the other end of the school. While Legoshi had no problem walking such distances at high speeds, Kibi had to jog alongside him, if he wanted to keep up with him. By the time they were climbing the steps to the rooftop, Kibi was already exhausted.

‘Was it absolutely necessary for me to come with you?’ Kibi asked almost breathless.

‘Sorry, but I think the members would be scared to see a lone wolf asking for flowers’ Legoshi said.

There were only a few steps until the end. When they got to the top, they were greeted by a large green iron door. It had rust around the frame and near the doorknob. The building definitely had to face water damage a good few times.

‘I never knew there was a garden on the rooftop’ Legoshi said, while reading the sign on the door, which said ‘Gardening Club’.

‘It’s probably not well-known among carnivores. It’s a pretty plain club anyway. They rarely appear publically. They only sell flowers at events and festivals.’

As Legoshi was reaching for the doorknob, he became aware of a very familiar smell. But how did he know it? Why did he notice it? It suddenly sparked the memory in his mind. The smell belonged to the student he almost devoured just yesterday!

‘I have to get out of here, quick!’ he thought.

‘Wait, that smell is…’ Legoshi said but he was interrupted by Kibi.

‘Probably the flowers. Pretty amazing isn’t it! Well… let me just go ahead and open the door.’

As the door opened, a beautiful view of a thousand colorful flowers of all shapes, kinds and sizes greeted them. Under an arch near the entrance, a small white rabbit was holding a hose, watering the plants around the area. Legoshi recognized her at an instant. It was the rabbit girl he attacked. It was Haru. When she heard the steps, she closed the water and looked at her visitors.

‘Hello. Do you need something?’ Haru asked, smiling softly.

Legoshi was still in shock. His heart was beating fast and he began to sweat. He couldn’t believe that their paths crossed once again. But one thing was sure: he entered a place, which he should have never gone to. It was heaven… in hell…

Beastars, vol. 3 (in English)

Here we start with volumes I had never read before, though I am aware of some latter developments. Of course, the important thing is always seeing them in order and in context. 

Chapter 17. 

- Talk about gossip! It’s not enough for students to talk about Legosi and Bill fighting on stage —they are inventing that ‘the wolf set the tiger on fire’, heh. 

- Some people are good at pretending and some are… not: 

- A trait that is often lost in translation: Jack is good at word-plays. 

- It’s hard to draw kissing with muzzles…

Chapter 18. 

- Here’s a time skip. The previous chapters happened around the beginning of the school year, so roughly between April and May (as the school play was partly to welcome new students). Here, it’s the start of summer, so roughly June. 

- ‘Roar-ter’, ‘BeastBook’, ‘Zoogle’… obvious, but pretty cute puns. 

- For these characters, dinosaurs are both historical and mythical. In some cases, almost deities. 

Chapter 19. 

- Notice that Haru’s wound has completely healed by now. 

- Although the cafeteria is designed for all students to mingle, it’s very rare for Herbivores and Carnivores to share a table, let alone a meal. Haru, however, could not care less about the stares they get. Legosi is too busy freaking out to even notice. 

Chapter 20. 

- The chapter about Legom, the hen. Here begins a small Beastars tradition, which is derived from the author’s previous ‘Beast Complex’ (which, sadly, has yet to see an official release or translation): Chapters focusing on different characters from this world, which serve to illustrate how their society works. 

- It’s a mostly humorous chapter. And thank god, because after this we get one of the darkest arcs in this comic. 

- The lesson about ‘Seaspeak’ will be important much later. 

- Though Legom is formal and distant, almost cold to Legosi in person, she considers him a special client. 

Chapter 21. 

- To make it clear we’re about to have a tonal shift, the very first page shows the aftermath of a street murder. 

- Rinna is one of the few female victims in this comic. Most characters who get killed or seriously injured are male. 

- Three ways to take rejection: Legosi bottles it all up, Durham mock-barks at others and Jack is just plain crushed: 

- With Juno’s bullying on one side and the herbivores not being allowed to leave the school premises we get a subtle indication of the way these crimes have repercussions all throughout society, starting with the school. 

- Here is the first mention of the Meat Market (the name varies depending on translations), here presented almost as an urban legend. 

Chapter 22. 

- Kibi’s freaked out face is killing me: 

- Legosi hadn’t gone outside in a whole year, to such a degree he’s forgotten how to use subway cards. 

- I think the most disturbing part about the old man selling his own fingers for food is that he’s even offering a discount for them. It may be darkly funny, but it is still nightmarish. 

Chapter 23. 

- Leave it to Bill to focus on the wrong part of the problem. As a friend put it, if there is a word for doing an illogical thing in a perfectly logical way, it perfectly describes Bill. Here, trying to solve a math problem with his fingers while ignoring why the others are freaking out: 

- Though the Market seems to be regarded as normal in this society, further chapters will slowly show that is not the case. 

- Gouhin (not yet named)’s presence signals that the world of the story is slowly shifting away from teenage innocence and into adult conflicts. For example, how to control a literal killing instinct. 

Chapter 24. 

- Why do I feel all these bathroom graffiti were made by Bill…

- The entire chapter reads like an horror tale. A glimpse into the darkest parts of this world. 

Chapter 25. 

- Gouhin’s insistence that Legosi’s feelings for Haru are only sublimated hunger is not entirely without basis. That was literally his first impulse when he first saw her. But there are subtler, more elaborate feelings intertwined with this. Guilt, tenderness, even a bit of love. It’s a much more complex situation than any of the three realize. 

- The final scene with Aoba is wonderful dramatic moment, and a respite from the horrors of this arc. A very ‘human’ moment of empathy, so to speak. 

Extra. 

- Here we first learn that Cherryton is an exclusive school. You’d have to be a very good student to enter --though Legosi always seems to be tuning out in class...

It was new years eve.

It wasn't a particularly busy day for Ridley or Kibi, but Ridley in particular had been in bed all day. They had told Kibi they were spacey, but... Kibi figured they'd truly been dissociating through time the whole day, as whenever they elected to speak, their voice sounded disjointed.

Ridley promised they'd stop. But they slipped every now and then - it was unavoidable. Still, Kibi felt awful that they couldn't help much.

As the sun started it's early descent, Kibi went to check on Ridley once more - only to find them scrolling through their phone.

"Ridley? Are you... back?"

Ridley didn't turn to face Kibi, only grumbled and shifted deeper into their nest of covers.

"How long was I out." their voice was deadpan, as it normally was, but there was a specific air of tiredness this time around.

"...Just the day. It's 10:32 pm right now." Kibi said before pausing and wheeling over to Ridley's side of the bed. "I was hoping we could make it in time for the performance downtown. Lune told me she saved us some seats..."

Their voice was soft and understanding, but Ridley just put their phone down and closed their eyes.

"Why didn't you tell her to fuck off,"

"Ridley!" Kibi said with a slight jolt back and frustrated expression.

Ridley paused before rubbing their temples, though their movements seemed erratic and sudden.

"I'm sorry." they said, voice warping unnaturally.

Kibi's look of frustration turned to concern as they realized Ridley was falling in and out of the time stream again. They just sighed and reached over to rub Ridley's shoulder, which caused their jittery movements to slow down.

"Is there any reason it's so bad today?" Kibi asked, scooting in a bit closer.

"It's..." Ridley paused to push some hair out of their face. "It gets weird when I'm reminded time passes differently for other people."

"Ahh." Kibi replied. They moved their hand to hold Ridley's, and the two sat holding hands in silence for a bit. Ridley wasn't sure how much time was really passing, but the moment was warm while it lasted. Eventually, Kibi broke the silence. "Hey, I'm gonna head out with Mimi if that's alright. I promise I won't be home too late after midnight. Take care of yourself?"

There was a muffled 'mhmmmm' from Ridley, so Kibi went and took their leave.

As Kibi went on their way through the snow to the downtown performance, Ridley continued to lie in bed. They resumed browsing their phone, and let out a frustrated huff when one of the first things that popped up as they refreshed their feed was a live video of Lune's concert downtown. Though, it looked admittedly plain, at least for Lune standards. Her outfit was also rather plain - just a grey hoodie unzipped with a black tank top underneath, rounded out with some black skinny jeans. 'God, she must be cold', Ridley thought as they watched some of the life feed.

The more Ridley watched, the more they felt bad. Bad that they had ditched Kibi. Bad that they were so harsh to Lune. Bad they couldn't be normal. A sudden determination filled Ridley - if fate were to be cruel to them, they'd be cruel back by defying it.

Even with their sudden determination, getting out of bed and getting dressed was still hard. Everything in Ridley screamed at them to stop, that it wasn't worth it - but Ridley pushed forwards. They still felt incredibly out of touch with their surroundings and the fabric of reality itself, so they stumbled a bit, but ridley eventually got themselves out the door. They had no idea how far Kibi had gotten, so, despite the promises to minimize meddling with time, Ridley paused everything.

The dark, quiet winter night was even quieter when nothing around Ridley was moving. The ice nipped differently, and Ridley spent the entire walk looking downwards as to not catch the vision of any passerby frozen in time. They only looked up upon seeing Kibi and Mimi - both of whom were only a few blocks away from the downtown stage. With a sharp inhale and soft clap of the hands, time resumed once again.

At first, Kibi didn't notice Ridley had suddenly appeared behind them - but Mimi quickly detected their scent after a few seconds and turned around suddenly with a bark. Concerned, Kibi turned around as well, only to jump in their seat.

"...Hi." was all that Ridley could muster.

"RIDLEY?! You promised not to... whatever. I'm... glad you could make it." Kibi said, they face slowly forming into a smile.

Ridley slowly stepped up to their partner and grabbed their hand, and the two walked towards the crowded stage together.

The open plaza surrounding the stage was packed, but Ridley and Kibi were guided by security to seats in the front row, that Lune reserved, just like she promised. Speaking of Lune - as she finished singing her current song, she gave a subtle nod as she noticed Ridley and Kibi in the crowd.

"FOUR MINUTES LEFT!! LET'S SEE HOW HIGH WE CAN GO!!"

The crowd roared, and music started playing. Ridley could give her one thing - Lune was an expert at hyping the audience. The crowd started following her shouts of 'hey!', before she growled into the mic and started her song.

"Party hard! Lose control! Burn out! Enjoy it all 'til the next life!"

Kibi was swaying along to the music, and while Ridley was still struggling to hang on, the warmth of Kibi's hand on theirs helped them ground themselves a bit. They found the, louder and more brash public image Lune was taking to be interesting. Ridley knew that Lune was on the verge of retiring, so they were surprised to see her use the time she had left to let her true personality show.

"Everybody dance! Everybody sing! Party holic, party holic, all the way until the end!"

Kibi worried about Ridley. They had a lot of things they needed to unpack, and of course, they couldn't be the one to force it all to come out. But Kibi knew Ridley loved them dearly - and Kibi loved Ridley, too. So as long as they lived, Kibi would do their best to make a world better for everyone - Ridley, Lune, and all the others.

The song's last chorus wound down, and the music kept going as Lune began to shout out a countdown.

"TEN!"

Ridley didn't like hearing time being counted.

"NINE!"

They gripped onto Kibi's hand extra tight.

"EIGHT!"

Kibi squeezed their hand back and looked to them with a smile.

"SEVEN!"

Their glasses and gentle eyes were lit up by the stage lights.

"SIX!"

It was hard not to grow flustered looking at them - as Ridley often became.

"FIVE!"

Their heart was pounding as the drums blared and Kibi came closer.

"FOUR!"

Kibi picked up Ridley's other hand in theirs and held it up.

"THREE!"

"I love you a lot," Kibi whispered close enough to hear over the crowd.

"TWO!"

"I do too."

"ONE!!"

Ridley leaned in to kiss Kibi, just as-

"HAPPY NEW YEAR!!"

The two didn't let the booming of fireworks break their kiss, and after a few seconds, Ridley had to lean back to check if time had stopped - which luckily, it hadn't. The two then promptly held each other in an embrace as the crowd roared around them. In this moment, everything... felt like it was going to be ok.

Lune sang one last song - an arrangement of her previous one, but with an almost ballad-like tone to it. Though her powerful vocals still shined through, the crowd was able to calm down and feel the vibe. At the end of the night, Lune signed off and went backstage to surely collapse into an exhausted heap.

Ridley and Kibi walked back home together, and quickly fell asleep by each other's side.

『Heightened energy』 Good evening everyone. There are so many sweets out there But I actually prefer salty things ... So I’ll refuse even the cutest little strawberry shortcake ♪ This is Hikaru. Today on November 27 we held our 「Kalafina Acoustic Tour 2017 ～“+ONE” with Strings～」 live @Okayama Kurashiki Civic Hall. Everyone who came to see us at the venue, thank you! Everyone who shared their feelings with us, thank you! It’s been about a year since we have last visited Okayama and this was our first time in Kurashiki! The hall has a cute colour scheme ♪ The amount of heat I felt until the very last moment of our time together was incredibly rewarding (*´꒳`*) Here’s a picture of us holding some imaginary kibi dango which are always associated with Okayama and Momotarō! We shall forge yet another connection with today’s heat! Next up is our concert at Miyagi Denryoku Hall. We’ll be awaiting you at the venue\(^-^)人(^o^)人(^O^)/ Here’s Okayama’s power meal...「Furuichi」’s udon! I had plain vegetable bukkake udon…but since it was so cold, I opted for a warm soup stock ♪ Then I visited Kurashika Bikan. There you can see and experience preserved townscapes of the Taisho, Meiji and Showa period. Walking along these streets provides peace of mind, one can slowly explore the area while roaming about. Although the famous Ōhara art museum was closed, there were plenty of other things to see such as the Japan Rural Toy Museum, Momotarō 's Karakuri Museum, Kurashiki Denim Street, Kurashiki Ivy Square ... etc ...! Day 11: Okayama Part 2

You know how I mentioned the amazing cook yesterday? Today she continued to delight us with her skills! After a delicious breakfast we went to support our host at an event where he held a speech about LGBT in Japan. Even though we didn’t understand much, it felt good to participate.

Unfortunately we had to leave early because we planned to go cycling in Kibi Plain! ( And this time we checked the bikes beforehand).

So we got a map and had to go 17 km in 3 hours (because the bike rental station closed at 6 pm). The countryside was beyond beautiful and as the name already said - it was a very plain road. Even though we got lost sometimes we made it in time and had a really good time.

Back in Okayama we enjoyed our friends cooking once more and met some new people. Everyone is so welcoming!!

Traveling di Jepang Menggunakan Sepeda? Kenapa Tidak?

Pasti banyak dari kalian yang ingin pergi atau traveling di Jepang. Tapi pernah terpikirkan tidak jika kalian traveling di luar jalur mainstream? daripada menggunakan bus atau kereta untuk menjelajahi setiap sudut kota di Jepang yang mungkin bikin kalian sesekali gelap mata untuk belanja figurine waifu kesayangan kalian, lebih baik kalian coba traveling menggunakan sepeda di Jepang yang relatif lebih murah dan kalian bisa dengan santai melihat keindahan setiap sudut kota di Jepang. Nah, kalau kalian sudah siap, simak cara traveling menggunakan sepeda berikut ini!

Rental Sepeda untuk Traveling di Jepang

Hal pertama yang harus kalian lakukan adalah mencari rental sepeda atau jika kalian berasal dari kalangan ‘sultan’ (darah biru) kalian mungkin bisa membeli sepeda di sana. Rental sepeda bisa kalian temukan di beberapa tempat wisata atau di sekitaran stasiun kereta yang ada di Jepang. Beberapa toko rental sepeda biasanya meminta kalian untuk melakukan deposit sejumlah uang sebagai jaminan atau fotocopy identitas jika kalian hendak menyewa sepeda. Mereka mungkin juga meminta alamat dan nomor telepon kalian.

Soal biaya sewa biasanya rental sepeda di Jepang mematok harga 100-300 yen (Rp. 12.000-36.000) per jam, 400-800 yen (Rp. 48.000-396.000) untuk setengah hari, dan 1000-1200 yen (Rp. 120.000-144.000) selama satu hari. Harga tersebut biasanya untuk jenis sepeda dengan tipe Mamachari (“mom’s bicycle“) alias sepeda ibu-ibu.

Jenis sepeda ini yang paling umum di Jepang dan yang ada toko-toko penyewaan sepeda sederhana untuk penggunaan sehari-hari, Mamachari biasanya dilengkapi dengan keranjang di depannya dan kursi boncengan. Untuk jenis lain seperti road bicycles, mountain bikes atau sepeda semi-electric biasanya jarang disewakan, jika ada mungkin harganya akan relatif lebih mahal.

Aturan Bersepeda dan Parkir

Eitss, sebelum kalian mengayuh pedal ada beberapa aturan yang harus kalian taati untuk bersepeda di Jepang. Yang jelas jika kalian bersepeda di Jepang jangan pernah naik ke trotoar, kecuali jika ada tanda yang menunjukan bahwa trotoar bisa digunakan untuk pejalan kali dan pengendara sepeda. Namun kadang ada beberapa pengendara sepeda yang tidak mengikuti aturan ini. Tapi jangan dicontoh ya, jangan buat malu di negeri orang!

Penggunaan helm untuk pengendara sepeda di Jepang memang tidak diharuskan, namun untuk cari aman kalian bisa menyewa helm juga untuk keselamatan diri sendiri. (Lebih baik kan, daripada kepala kalian benjol jika menabrak tiang listrik)

Untuk urusan parkir, banyak kota-kota besar, yang menyediakan area parkir sepeda di dekat stasiun kereta api atau pusat perbelanjaan. kalian mungkin juga menemukan area parkir bertingkat khusus untuk sepeda. Wah keren ya! Dan ingat, jangan pernah parkir di sembarang tempat apalagi di zona yang jelas-jelas tidak diperbolehkan parkir atau kalian akan di kenakan denda. Jika kalian terpaksa parkir di area yang tidak seharusnya minimal kalian parkir di tempat yang tidak menghalangi orang lain untuk berjalan.

The Shimanami Kaido adalah jalan panjang 60 kilometer yang menghubungkan pulau utama Jepang Honshu ke pulau Shikoku melalui beberapa pulau dan jembatan. The Shimanami Kaido memiliki sebuah jalur khusus sepeda  yang memberikan pemandangan-pemandangan laut Pulau Seto yang menakjubkan.

The Kibi Plain adalah dataran pedesaan yang berada dari luar pusat Kota Okayama. Yang menarik dari tempat ini, terdapat jalur sejauh 17 kilometer untuk bersepeda yang melewati dataran pedesaan dan kalian juga dapat mengunjungi beberapa tempat wisata bersejarah dalam perjalanan ini.

Dianggap sebagai tempat lahirnya peradaban Jepang, Asuka menawarkan beberapa tempat bersejarah yang menarik dengan pemandangan indah pedesaan-pedesaan-nya. Berkeliling menggunakan sepeda memang sangat cocok untuk menjelajahi Asuka karena lingkungannya yang menyenangkan dan memiliki jarak yang sesuai untuk menikmati pemandangan yang menakjubkannya.

Biei adalah kota kecil di pusat Hokkaido. Pemandangan indah bergulir dari bukit yang mengelilingi kota ini. Membuat kalian merasakan pengalaman bersepeda yang sangat amat menyenangkan, meskipun beberapa orang akan lebih memilih sepeda bertenaga listrik, karena memang Biei memiliki medan yang berbukit.

Bersepeda di sini sangatlah populer di kalangan wisatawan, karena memang Kyoto merupakan kota dengan medan yang datar sehingga Kyoto merupakan kota tujuan yang pas untuk bersepeda ria. Di samping itu kalian juga bisa bersepeda dengan santai di sepanjang Sungai Kamo.

Hagi merupakan kota bekas benteng di Prefektur Yamaguchi. Kota ini memang sangat cocok untuk bersepeda karena memiliki lebar jalanan yang luas dan tidak terlalu banyak lalu-lalang kendaraan membuat kalian sangat leluasa untuk mengeksplorasi tempat ini.

Pencurian dan Pendaftaran Sepeda

Walapun Jepang merupakan negara yang relatif aman dari tindak kriminal, namun pencurian sepeda memang tidak jarang di Jepang. Untuk mencegah kejahatan, setiap sepeda di Jepang seharusnya telah didaftarkan ke pihak yang berwajib. Jika kalian membeli sepeda baru, proses pendaftaran kemungkinan akan ditangani oleh toko tempat kalian membelinya, tetapi jika kalian membeli dari orang lain, kalian diharapkan untuk mendaftarkan ulang di bawah nama kalian di kantor polisi setempat untuk menghindari kesalahpahaman ke depannya. (Istilahnya jika di Indonesia kalian harus memiliki BPKB atau STNK untuk sepeda hahaha.)

Sebagian besar sepeda dilengkapi dengan kunci pengaman dasar, tetapi kunci pengaman tambahan diperlukan jika sepeda kalian tidak ingin raib di Jepang.

One of the highlights from my 15 days trip to Japan is cycling through the Kibi Plains near Okayama city with the length of 21km for around 4 hours. Of course, It was a very tiring trip, but with the may views and temples to be seen and explore, it was totally worth it. From Kibitsuhiko Shrine, Kibitsu Shrine, vast picturesque view of paddy fields and the old with unique architecture of Bitchu-Kokubunji Temple and its Pagoda. Last but not least is by ending the trip at Kurashiki Historic Square with the nostalgic vibe of old Japan and the canal. Peachy country side

Hello again from Okayama!

A lot earlier today than yesterday, haha. Today we mostly stayed in Okayama, contrasting with the earlier longer day trips. We didn’t just sit around in the hotel all day though, follow me under the link for today’s report!

Over breakfast, my friend and I caught up on each other’s respective Saturdays. When she mentioned having spotted the Hello Kitty shinkansen yesterday, I asked her what time, and then we realized that it would pop up again at Okayama station around 10 AM today. So we did what anyone in our situation would do, let’s be honest: we rushed to gather our things and make it to the station in time to spot the train, come on.

We weren’t the only ones, although apparently it was less busy than yesterday (maybe 10 AM is too early on a Sunday morning, who knows). Luckily the train stopped in Okayama for about 10 minutes, so we had plenty of time to walk the full length and take pictures and selfies, haha. We couldn’t go inside, but it was a lot of fun to see it on the outside, and hey, they covered this train in the Dutch news, of course we had to go see it!

After that, we left the shinkansen tracks, because we’d actually gone to the station for another reason. We were going cycling today at the Kibi plain, the starting point of which is about 15 minutes by train. We had to take the Momotarou line, because of course it’s called Momotarou, everything here in Okayama is called Momotarou. Even the tourist information center is Momotarou sightseeing center in Japanese, they just neglected to translate it. Gosh.

We wouldn’t get rid of peach boy today, as the popular cycling route leads you to the shrines and temples associated with the legend of Kibitsuhiko, a prince who slew an ogre at the Kibi plain and whose story would later evolve into Momotarou’s tale.

Anyway, right next to Bizen-Ichinomiya station, there’s a rental bike shop, where we rented two bikes that I honestly doubt are younger than us, haha. Oh well, they did the job just fine as long as we didn’t have to go uphill too often.

There’s a shrine right around the corner, the Kibitsuhiko Shrine, very predictably called after the prince as he allegedly went here to pray before going on his journey to slay the ogre. (Or maybe his house was here, the sources don’t agree with each other there, hm.) The complex is pretty big and has very nice sights, and of course, you can buy a prayer block here shaped like a peach, sigh. It was incredibly hot, though, so we fell for the nearby offer of shaved ice cream. Obviously we picked the white peach flavor, it almost feels wrong to pick any other flavor in Okayama, haha.

Though cycling was nice for the most part, it was really hot, so the moment we got off again we were like – drenched, oops. We cycled to the next stop, Kibitsu shrine, which is the only one of its building kind apparently. This is the former head shrine of the Kibi Kingdom, and still the most important shrine in the region. The building style really is unique: it has double roofs that I’d never seen before, and as it turns out, it is indeed rather unique. It has a lot of long corridors that are mercifully roofed, so we got some shade to shield us from the sun.

We had lunch at a nearby stall, and went cycling for a bit more until we really had to turn around, it was getting irresponsible (at least for me) to continue with this weather. Regardless, it was a very nice ride, and it was very neat to see something of the Japanese countryside and also see such a unique shrine on the way.

So, one ice cream (again white peach flavor) later, we went back to the hotel to cool and lie down for a bit. Over dinner, we discussed we’d like to go to Takamatsu tomorrow, which is on the island of Shikoku (which I haven’t visited before) and where a festival is going on until the day after tomorrow, so we’ll see how that is!
