Hey there, just wanted to pop by and say how much I love all your posts about various SWTOR NPCs and your headcanons for them! Your posts, and those of some others, have inspired me to write my own little set of headcanons for an AU that’s always been in my head

Also, if you are still accepting asks about NPCs, can I ask about Lieutenant Kieral and Captain Biron, as well as their respective Sergeants (Katcho and Ennlicher) if their paths differ?

That planetary storyline on Hoth is definitely memorable. I'm rather surprised that none of those characters appear on my massive NPC spreadsheet. We don't often meet Imperials who are reasonable and honorable on the Republic side.

I've added them to the sheet, and now i have to decide which of my Republic-side OCs encounters them, and if any of those characters are still alive.

Biron definitely seems like the type who might join the Alliance, doesn't he? Maybe Kieral, too.

My answer feels insufficient; so here's the letter i got from Kieral when i ran through Hoth with Corellan.

Kieral - The Diplomat

Masterlist

Being under constant siege from the Hailstorm Brotherhood was the unknowing catalyst for Kieral's biggest change in life. Forced to take desperate measures in the name of survival, Kieral secretly reached out to Imperial Captain Biron for a truce and temporary alliance, surprisingly finding him planning the same thing.

Meeting in Outpost Senth, they join forces with Havoc Squad and launch a series of devastating assaults against the Brotherhood, ultimately crippling them and allowing the war between the Galactic Republic and Sith Empire to resume with little interruption. Kieral, however, refuses to continue to participate.

He finds it harder and harder to order his men to fight the Imperials when he had met and worked with an honourable and reasonable man like Biron. He certainly no longer believes the propaganda that all Imperials are monstrous psychopaths who willingly commit war crimes. So, Kieral requests a transfer to the Diplomatic Corps.

He is incredibly hopeful when he hears of the Yavin Coalition being set up, quickly capitalising on it's success to push for peace and cooperation permanently. While his colleagues don't judge his efforts, they don't assist him either and he has very little success.

The war with the Eternal Throne presents a golden opportunity for him to unite the two against a common enemy, like he did on Hoth. However, Supreme Chancellor Leontyne Saresh has other plans when she calls for all ex-service personnel still in public service to be re-enlisted, Kieral included.

He refuses the transfer and resigns his position in protest, sitting out the war and watching the Republic collapse under the weight of two adversaries. After several years of oppression under the Throne, he enlists with the Eternal Alliance when he hears of its existence and its efforts to recruit from both sides, assisting greatly in combining Republic and Imperial soldiers into one structure.

Speaking of things that should have happened in KOTFE: you wanna know who I wish we had gotten to recruit or had show up as npc’s just loitering? Captain Biron and Lt. Kieral from Hoth. Listen if anyone was gonna show up being like “Yeah we can do this Alliance stuff and work together” and had experience to show for it I mean... idk it would have been a nice throwback. I really liked a lot of the Hoth npc’s and I wish they could’ve had a comeback.

Jingle Cells - Cello’s nickname, a pun on Jingle Bells but adding the start of ‘Cello’ to it instead.

christmas riley - Riley, but make it Christmas rilatkas - Also Riley, a Hanukkah pun on Riley + Latkas!

Puncher of Problems - That’s Saix, but I don’t know if he has a good reason for this nickname. He doesn’t usually

The Yuletide J - That’s me, J! ‘Make The Yuletide Gay’ is a lyric in ‘Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas’ and it’s the best Christmas name I could come up with. Also I am gay

December Dess - Jessica started her nickname off this year as January Jess, and then February Fess, and I think you can guess the rest.

Kikyule - Kikyo, but adding ‘yule’ in there because Christmas

Advent - Advanced, another Christmas pun because both words start with the same 3 letters.

I added redness/blushing to make Owlis look a bit more lively while depicting Iueu'u almost vulture-like as if she's death. The other oppositional part is light versus shadow.

I did a lot of experimentation with this, but tbh, I'm actually pretty pleased with the result.

Eternal Alliance AU Masterlist

I've always considered the Eternal Alliance to be a wasted storytelling opportunity for Star Wars: The Old Republic. They presented us with an alliance between the two rival factions of the galaxy but, created brand new characters to fill it, instead of using any pre-existing ones (that aren't companions).

So, I wanted to come up with a solid headcanon regarding an Eternal Alliance AU and it's members, which is what this is. For now, it'll just be a list of people who I think would leave their respective faction and join to fight against the Eternal Throne but, maybe one day I'll write some scenes surrounding the group's campaign against Valkorion, Arcann, and Vaylin.

One major change I've made for this AU is that Valkorion doesn't die in Chapter 1 of KOTFE by anyone's hand. Instead, he continues to rule throughout the story, only dying when the Alliance attacks Zakuul (i.e. KOTET Chapter 9)

Biron - The Pragmatist

When the Sith Empire made plans to trap the Galactic Republic in a hopeless battle for a barren world, they didn't expect to encounter one of the largest operations of pirates in the galaxy. Known as the White Maw, they were hellbent on scavenging the ruins of the starship graveyard created by the Great Galactic War, openly hostile to both the Empire and Republic.

Eventually, mainly through the combined efforts of multiple legendary heroes of both sides, the White Maw would cease to be anything more than a minor thorn but, Biron's own efforts in dealing with the Hailstorm Brotherhood, a faction within their ranks, are not to be discounted.

Lacking the manpower himself to handle any effective assaults and cut off from resupply, he approached Lieutenant Kieral of the nearby Republic outpost in an effort to combine their operational strength and survive the harsh onslaught.

When Havoc Squad passes through Outpost Senth, they lend their assistance to the fledgling alliance, giving the forces the spearhead they need to assault the Brotherhood's headquarters and take down their leader. After a twenty-four hour truce, fighting between the two groups resumes, without Biron.

His actions discovered by Imperial Intelligence, he and his unit are quickly captured and transported somewhere secret, to be interrogated for intelligence whilst imprisoned for treason for the rest of their lives. Or, three years, as it turned out.

With the collapse of Imperial Intelligence, Biron and his unit are one of many prisoners and assets that slip through the net of the newly formed Sith Intelligence, quickly occupied by the Revanite Crisis and the Invasion of Ziost. Considering his friendship with Kieral and an offer from Havoc Squad's Major regarding defection, he cautiously begins to reach out just as the Eternal Throne begins its campaign.

Laying low on backwater planets by trading their skills for credits, Biron is one of the first recruits for the new Eternal Alliance, citing it as his chance to serve whilst getting out of the shadow of the Empire and Intelligence.

Katcho - The Suspicous

As a prisoner of the Sith Empire, Katcho learned all about Imperial practices the hard way. After three months in their company he was able to escape and return to duty, although his perception would always remain coloured.

Getting assigned to Hoth under Lieutenant Kieral was supposed to be the perfect assignment, with an entire invasion force of Imperials to contend with. When the White Maw began to surface as the major problem, however, he was forced to work with the enemy to survive the unusual circumstances.

Storming the Chilling Death Spire alongside Sergeant Ennlicher and Havoc Squad, Katcho advocates for pre-emptive action against the Imperial forces, expecting them to betray the Republic forces at the opportune moment. When Havoc Squad's Commanding Officer convinces him to stand down, he is surprised when Ennlicher and Captain Biron remain true to their word.

Unlike Kieral, Katcho does not have a crisis of conscience and chalks Biron and Ennlicher up as exceptions to the norm. He replaces Kieral as the Lieutenant in charge of Outpost Senth and continues to fight the Imperial forces stationed on Hoth, never encountering his former temporary allies in the field again.

This continues until the Eternal Throne's conquest and subjugation of the galaxy stretches many resources thin and Outpost Senth is once again left without resupply. This time, however, there is no relief and Katcho is forced to abandon his position and retreat to Aurek Base.

Upon arrival, he and his men are court martialled for abandoning their posts and dishonourably discharged from the Galactic Republic Military. Katcho himself drifts for a while before being contacted by Kieral who offers him a place amongst the ranks of the Eternal Alliance, provided he can tone down his Imperial-based cynicism.
