some 1b girl lineups so i can have all my little personal designs in one place :3 slightly inconsistent bc i drew them separately at first but fuck it we ball

no clothes versions that i made for myself to use as templates (yknow so i can draw clothes on top of them without having to draw them over and over again) and showcase my general appearance headcanons

how i think they like to wear their uniforms (looking at bakugo, UA seems pretty liberal about it so i get to have fun lol). obviously what they wear depends mostly on the weather but these are meant to be like,, their favorite combinations?

i really like the "long sleeve shirt with no blazer" look. kind of a shame no one in bnha seems to wear their uniform like this

the most important part!! the costumes!! putting the notes under the cut bc they ended up kinda long

i like Reiko's canon costume a lot, i just decided to give her fingerless gloves and make her kimono long and tattered for the spooky vibes. i used to also draw it with a reversed (right over left) collar bc that's how they dress dead people and Reiko's meant to have this ghost aesthetic but decided against it this time because maybe it's more culturally inappropriate than i think?? idk its not that big of a visual change so i'd rather play it safe

Setsuna is wearing my own costume design that i explained fully in an older post. i still like it, i just gave her spike bands on her legs instead of the same thing she wears on her forearms bc i decided i dont vibe with the total limb symmetry anymore lol

i spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to think up a redesign for Kendo only to settle for her canon costume with extra bandages/cloth wraps (theyre cool) and ordinary combat boots instead of the ones she wears in canon (i just don't vibe with them). i guess sometimes less is more or whatever

Kinoko's canon costume is just *chefs kiss* so the only thing i changed was the color of her shoes. her sleeves are short here bc i thought it could look cute for a summer version of her costume, the winter version keeps the long fluffy sleeves. her spray guns were pissing me off so i decided not to draw them but trust me they're here in spirit

How do you think ASGZ and the Turks+ Rufus would dress if they were ordinary people living in the real world? (My personal guilty pleasure head cannon is Sephiroth loving leather jackets and V-necks… imagine him in all black, leather jacket, dog tag, some bracelets, black jeans and combat boots… ahem sorry it’s late at night and my thoughts are going weird places)

Sephiroth's go-to outfit: All-black and minimalist is his go-to style, so he does like leather jackets, long coats, and black pants. He wears v-necks sometimes, but prefers button-ups so he can alter how constrictive his shirt is (not the case when he's at home because this man lives for comfortable clothes).

Angeal: I told you this event required you to wear a shirt.

Sephiroth, wearing a button-up that's only fastened at the bottom last button, leaving his whole chest exposed: What's wrong with my shirt?

Angeal: WHAT SHIRT?

Genesis' go-to outfit: Red leather jacket (he has so many of them), a button up/turtle kneck, and knee-high boots. All designer. He accessorizes with jewelry (all gold) such as necklaces, bangles and tons of rings.

Angeal's go-to outfit: sleeveless tee, jeans, boots, and a flannel he either commits to wearing or ties around his waist. All thrifted. Bonus points if the top is DIY'd or tie dye. He's a compulsive tie dyer.

Angeal: Hm.

Zack's go-to outfit: A fitted tee, baggy pants, fingerless gloves and combat boots. He wears his dog tag as an accessory and hates jackets unless he can roll the sleeves really high.

Rufus' go-to outfit: It's a designer suit or nothing; preferably white and pristine, preferably custom-made. He's also likes to wear a kimono and hakama sometimes.

Reno's go-to outfit: A leather jacket, gloves, a button up that's either red or white, gold chain, and jeans, and combat boots.

Rude's go-to outfit: A leather jacket (him and Reno are matching), gloves, wearing all black, usually a button up since he's not a fan of t-shirts, and dress shoes. He likes to accessorize with chains.

Tseng's go-to outfit: No one has ever seen Tseng wear anything other than a suit. Work? suit. Party? suit. Beach? suit. Reno nearly died on the spot the day he and Rude ran into Tseng at the local coffee shop and he was wearing a t-shirt beneath his blazer, no tie, and a silver chain.

Androgynous/Masc Leaning Capsule Wardrobe Ideas

In honor of International Nonbinary People’s Day, I offer you the clothing advice I wish I had like 15 years ago. I prefer a small well curated wardrobe but it is so tough to pull that off as a nonbinary genderfluid person. I spent years struggling to make my capsule wardrobe work for me. Every example I saw was either with feminine clothes or with the world blandest men’s clothing. 

For reference, I’m AFAB and live in Kentucky - very hot and muggy in summers, can get quite cold (-20 F) in winter but it’s usually mild with highs are in the 30F-40F range most days. This is the advice I’d give my younger self if I could. 

Focus on 10-15 Core Items

While I am fluid, I consistently spend most of my time “inbetween” these days. Having a neutral to masc learning main wardrobe with some feminine items to mix in wound up working best for me. So here’s the masc leaning base wardrobe I recommend. 

~3 x Button Ups - I went with short sleeve Hawaiian shirts for myself because I love bold patterns. You can find a lot of Hawaiian shirt these days that don’t have stereotypical “island” patterns on them while still being pretty light and breathable in summer. If your style leans more classic, consider oxford cloth button ups. You might need more button ups if you work in a business casual setting. 

~3 x Tees - I like graphic tees, specifically hand screen printed ones so that’s what I go with. But if your style is more classic then consider investing in some good quality solid color tees. 

~3 x Casual Tops - for me this is a tank top, turtleneck, and a Henley. But you might consider a collarless button ups, plain long sleeve shirts, and ringer style long sleeve shirts. 

~3 Pants - for me, I have black and stone washed denim since those are my favorites. I look for tapered fits over skinny or boot leg where I can. I have one pair that’s a jogger style I quite like. You might look for chinos or khakis if you have a more formal dress code at work but they’ll still work with graphic tees and other tops if you style them right. 

~3 x Layers - for me this is a cardigan, a flannel, and a hoodie. You might consider v neck or crew neck sweaters, cable knit sweaters, and fair isle sweaters as well. 

Feminine Clothing Module

What’s nice about this approach is that you can then create a feminine clothing module that plays nicely with your main wardrobe. 

For me this looks like

1-2 Dresses - I have a maxi tee dress and a long sleeved linen dress since that works more for everyday wear for me. 

1-2 Skirts - I don’t have any presently but the next big feminine swing I have I’ll be ordering a nice linen skirt in my favorite color. 

1-2 Casual Tops - I don’t have any presently after my last big wardrobe edit but business casual shell tops, camisoles, and cowl neck tops work well here. 

1-2 Layers - I have a linen blazer in a women’s cut and a long striped duster. You might consider a kimono style shrug/wraps, sweaters in a more feminine cut, and women’s cardigans

You don’t need a lot here because so much of the main wardrobe can be mixed with a feminine element or two and it becomes much more feminine - especially if you’re AFAB but even if you’re AMAB. It doesn’t take a lot a feminine clothing to make an over all outfit look more feminine and subtle touches work just as well as more overt styles ime.

Sizing

Sizing is tricky as hell. I’m plus size (size 18-20 in women’s pants) and especially trying to find masculine stuff with the right fit is a pain. I really recommend going in to try things on if you’re able but if not get comfortable with the idea you will likely need to send things back. Yes you can take measurements but those measurements are still listed with different proportions in mind. 

For men’s clothes I lean toward a slightly oversized fit - as most men I’m around do. For women’s clothes, I lean toward a slightly tight fit - as most women I’m around do. Look at the people around you and see which fits they lean toward and opt for that where you’re able to for yourself. 

Shoes, Outwear, Special Occasions

Shoes - I tend to opt to go neutral in my shoes and outerwear. Not in color or pattern mind you but gender. For shoes, I currently have 3 pairs - a pair of crocs (with spikes), running shoes/sneakers (old Champion brand slip ons), and a pair of Doc Martens. These are good options if you’re AMAB too because the sizing is unisex or available in similar styles for men and women. Other good options are Vans, Chucks, any hippie sandal brand you can think of. “Nicer” shoes are great but often pretty gendered. I lean toward getting “nicer shoes” that are opposite my assigned gender when I do grab them. 

Outerwear - I also tend to opt for gender neutral options for outerwear too. Since it doesn’t get terribly cold here, I stick to a micropuff jacket from North Face and layer a black denim jacket over it when it gets cold. When I wear it with masc stuff, blends in. When I wear it with feminine stuff, it adds a slight edge I like. Pea coats are decent options as well. If you live some place real cold, a lot of the long winter coats are basically the same between genders, just different fits. 

Special Occasions - I would recommend not worrying about special occasions until or unless they come up. I have the same two “special occasion” dresses that I’ve been using for years because they come up so rarely and I can’t bare to spend too much money on something I’ll wear maybe once or twice a year. Formal wear is highly gendered and if you learn androgynous it’s a tough needle to thread. For those events with hosts you know, it’s worth reaching out to them to see what they think makes an outfit “formal” - could be nicer cuts or materials, could be rigid gender norms - can’t know until you ask. 

For most special occasions, I do not know the host, so I default very structured looks in accordance with my assigned gender. Still feels a bit edgy but no ones gonna have the guts to say it’s wrong. For AMAB folks you might do the inverse, more flowy looks and colors while still adhering to your assigned gender. All depends on the level of familiarity you have with the hosts and the flack you’re willing to catch.

so true to my word, I've started work on a crossover fic where Phoenix Wright has to defend Lupin III in court, and I decided to do a redraw - trying my hardest to replicate the Ace Attorney art style - showing what I imagine their designs to be. Notes (and the art I redrew) under the cut!

Lupin

yes, that's Edgeworth's jacket. Ever wonder why Edgeworth switched from a blazer to a long coat? Now you know

and yes, those are jeans. Lupin discovered that jeans are more expensive than suit pants in the 21st century, so he stole the third most valuable pair of jeans he could find (the most expensive ones were ripped and full of holes and nowhere near classy enough for him

he has glasses because a) people's eyesight can change over time, it happens lol and b) I thought it would look hot and I was correct.

Jigen

I watched a video about the times Jigen wore a vest and how it was great because it helps to distinguish him from Lupin, so I decided to go all out with it

I paired it with rolled up sleeves and gloves to give him a sense of practicality. also the gloves give him a hitman vibe which i dig

yes, that's a lollipop. he's trying to cut down on the smokes. it's not going well.

Goemon

the half-up hair is kinda my idea for a modernised version of a samurai topknot. not a topknot, of course, because that's not Goemon's style, but the idea of it is there

the harness he wears is there to hold Zantetsuken on the occasions when he needs both his hands for something. he can keep his sword wife with him at all times

he switched from a kimono to a yukata because they're lighter and breezier; Goemon is very worried about global warming, but knows he can't do anything about it himself, so he just dresses for warmer weather

I used the character art for the TV special Goodbye Partner as a basis for this (and it's pretty funny switching back and forth between the linearts and seeing Jigen retract into his hat)

I took a look through my summer dress Pinterest board and found three types of outfits that look like they could fit the bill for a summer wedding with a semi formal dress code, and then I put an outfit together with my own wardrobe following the qualities from the photos.

Qualities across the board:

Look for fabric that is both lighter in colour and in weight to minimize heat retention, in materials that will wick away moisture such as linen, silk, wool, or even tech weaves for working out. Opt for looser fits to allow air circulation around your body. Choose a small crossbody bag in a contrasting colour or coordinate with your shoes. Pay attention to your desired proportions and fit!! All of these outfits feature soft shoulder profiles, loose and squared off sleeves that hit about the elbow, and bottoms that hit about the hip and fall loose but not baggy around the legs regardless of their length.

Approach 1:

Find a shirt and shorts in the same colour family to create a monochrome set

Keeping things monochrome reads visually as a set, often without requiring things to have been made intentionally as such, and elevates the formality a bit. This outfit is just a boxy cycling button up in a very light tech weave with a pair of linen shorts. The shirt is buttoned up all the way to make it hang as smoothly and appear as crisply as possible. If I were wearing the shorts for real, I'd make sure they're pressed and I'm wearing a pair of matching white boxers underneath to camouflage the front pleats. I think the boots I have closest to your chukkas is this pair of Docs, which I paired with a yellow musette pouch. The shirt hits at about my natural hip crease to make a square silhouette rather than a longer rectangle, which I love because it's very loose and comfy around my hips. For this set, I'd leave everything untucked so you don't have to worry about anything tight around the waist or visually interrupting the flow, but that depends on the individual garments.

Approach 2:

Add a colourful, unstructured garment over the shirt and shorts

If you don't have something similar already, I would say go thrift a super fun garment to go over a basic shirt and shorts. For a summer wedding, I'd look for either a blazer that has no need for a lining and softly constructed shoulders, an oversized cardigan, or a kimono/haori jacket in a lightweight material. I put on this silk haori jacket to add colour to the original white set, or increase the formality of a white button up paired with some shorter navy wool shorts. I tucked in the white shirt since the blue shorts fall higher on my waist and they have a little decorative waistband. Since the jacket is bringing some colour to the outfit, if I were wearing the blue shorts I would pick a bag that matches them closer rather than adding another bold colour to the mix.

Other little touches to consider: I tried some lavender socks that could peek out just over top of the boots and no socks at all. I'd probably end up being boring and wearing a pair of black socks that don't peek over the boots to keep my feet protected. If you don't need to wear any socks in your boots I would say take the opportunity to be sockless!

Out of the three of these options, I'd actually wear the white shirt and shorts with the haori jacket and yellow bag to a real wedding! I think the only change I would make is to swap out the boots for a pair of loafers so I could get away with being sockless and bring some Chris Pine energy to the outfit.

Fashion asks are my favorite thing in the world, I love playing dress up with my ocs 😄

Starting by thee style queen herself, Wendy. If we're talking gala then Wendy goes gem shades, like a rich turquoise or a beautiful magenta and she looves her twirly, flowy skirts. Very fairy like, even if it's a long skirt. If it's just a restaurant, honestly same vibe, except shorter skirts and just loud candy colors. At home she's almost always lounging in her lilac sweats, very Juicy Couture.

Bella is in the midway between grunge and goth, depending on the day. For a formal event she'd lean on the sleek goth, so sleek tighter dresses in velvet black or even in red, thigh slits, backless. Sexy, vampy. For a dinner, she'd vary from like vampy dresses with stockings and killer heels to black leather pants and crop tops. 95% of the time at home she's wearing her own boxers and one of Luke's shirts though.

Jonah will go all out when its gala. He's not super campy, but he'll do sheer shirts, colorful pocket squares, different tuxedos, all the fun. Galas don't really impress him after all. In the opposite reasoning, I actually think he dresses down for a dinner? Of course if the place calls for formal pants he'll be wearing them, as well as a blazer, but I don't see him feeling the need to dress to impress just for some fancy restaurant. At home he's almost always in linen baggy pants, slippers and a cardigan over a wifebeater or a kimono. Think fuckboy in ibiza vibes.

Gonna speed through Vin, Luke and Leo because I think their fashion is a little interchangeable.

They clean up well, but wearing a blue tuxedo is them being "daring". Breaking out the henleys and the nice jeans for dinner, maybe social pants (specifically Leo who goes to fancier places thanks to Jonah).

Luke at home cannot be bothered to put on a shirt, so its sweatpants or boxers, always barefoot. Luke invented wearing school merch, he's always out and about wearing his college hoodie.

Leo is really getting into cardigans, started as him stealing Jon's and now he's got his own collection. The bigger, cozier and lumpier the better.

Vince has his emotional support leather jacket. He's also pretty much the only one of the boys who'll ever be seen wearing ripped jeans.

Vince, Luke and Leo (in this order) also wear a lot of gym wear, just those big mesh tanktops, runner sneakers, etc.
