- Happy New Year 2024! -

2023 is coming to an end and with that, another new year has begun! Its been a fun one this year. I've gained some friends, lost some as well but I am ready to refocus and restart.

A part of me wished that I did more to show my progress but I am proud of my progress nonetheless. There will be more of the trio (Sadie, Jamie, Hector) more of Anis, more of Vox and more whacky creatures to the roster in 2024.

On a personal note, Thank you to all for sticking around and seeing this progress through. Your support has been a blessing no matter the size. From the bottom of my heart, Thank you. To the newbies, welcome to the Caw! I hope you enjoy your stay.

- Elegance of The Switch Blade -

We Havenites; have collected and harnessed energy from the Core and placed them into our best weapon made in history. The sword.

The Switch Blade is an elegant weapon founded in the ancient times of Kingshaven history. As the grand hub of trade and advancements whom; the lesser civilizations will blindly label as Witchcraft.

The Blade takes on the simple form of a regular sword upon first appearance. Concealed to appear like a normal weapon. The unique design to the weapon is the piece of Burning Core fitted at the near edge of the Scabbard. When unsheathed, the weapon takes on one of the abilities of The STAB as shown.

While this weapon on display shows; the Tide.

The other parts of The STAB is just as fitting to the weapon with varying effects. The Switch Blade functions much like a normal Melee weapon that also has the function of a range weapon to fire blasts of the STAB.

The weapon also has a limited charge between its Cross Guard section and the Scabbard. Often requiring it to be sheathed to recharge. On the Pommel, lies the Core Bar that shows the user its current percentage.

The design aspect of the Switch Blade varies from the person's personality. The most common customization is the Scabbard of varying designs with matching pieces on the handle. Its a weapon that is famously given to a Havenite child when they come of age (around 14)

Given that the Blade only holds one of The STAB, it encourages users to not only master their STAB but also learn how to work with others as well.

Growing up on KingsHaven was live living in a never-ending dream. From the sunny summer days where the sun turned the sand at the beach into paths of shifting gold, to the days where it was all gray and rainy, the nights were the water looked like a blanket of ink with silver streaks running down the middle. Jaxon’s earliest memories were of the immense love he had for the place he called home, and for the people around him that meant the world to him. His parents. It was odd, growing up as the child of two well-known detectives, people who loved mystery and helping others, like two very curious yet merciful angels sent down to give peace to those who needed it the most. Jaxon, loved his parents with his entire being, wanting to be just like them when he grew up, or so he kept telling himself time and time again over the years. Their exploits became so well know that they were sometimes hired for cases from out of town, and for a while they never took those kinds of jobs, not until they felt Jaxon was old enough to be able to be by himself for a while. It wasn’t until he was eighteen that they agreed to go on a job that would keep them away from their son for more than just a few days. Jaxon figured it wouldn’t be long before they came back, his parents, his very own version of Sherlock Holmes and Watson, but weeks suddenly turned into months, and worry began to creep into the back of his mind, the boy now nervously waiting for his parents return…but they never came.

They had been found washed up on a beach in California, the place where their case had led them, and Jaxon had been flown over by their colleagues to identify the bodies and begin to plan out a funeral if necessary. Suddenly the beach was a place he hated, the sands would no longer just be warm under his feet, shifting between his toes as the salty air whipped at his features. No longer would he find the mesmerizing waters of the ocean, welcoming and pristine. All he could see was darkness in the water, and it kept him away from a place he used to love as a kid. Now those memories he would hold in his heart, what was left of it anyway. Jaxon found himself alone in the world, but his parents deaths bothered him endlessly, this case had taken their lives and it had been left unresolved. Several of their colleagues had approached them, some with words of empty comfort, some to just talk about how brave their parents were to tackle something none of them even dared to do. Only one offered to solve the case, to help put his parents’ soul at ease. Life after that was no longer serene and calm, everything became rocky and tumultuous. He became obsessed with finding out what exactly happened to his parents, find out the real reason why they never came home. So, the next few years of his life were devoted solely to this cause, learning, training himself to be like the parents he loved so much, and finally put not only their souls, but his heart at peace.

For years he worked under the tutelage of his parents’ colleague, learning under him as he took on online classes so he could get his degree. Leaving aside his dream to go to school for art, and simply use this chance at higher learning to get the skills and knowledge necessary for him to be able to crack what his parents’ left behind. It was day in and day out of researching of piecing together the pieces of a puzzle that he had never seen before. He could feel himself thinking the same way his two moms did, and for a few moments felt a sense of pride swelling up inside his chest. Which each clue uncovered he could feel himself getting closer, but it wasn’t enough to work locally, he needed to be where they had last been. Without a word to the rest of the people that knew him, he took off with their parents one colleague. 3 years away from the world that he knew, 3 years before he could return home, and it had been 3 years that it took to finally catch the one responsible for ruining all the maybes and what ifs of his life. His moms would never meet the person he would love, they would never walk him down the aisle, they would never get to meet his kids, or see him graduate, see the man that he would become. All of that was taken away, and the moment he saw the cuffs being put onto the man responsible, he felt a weight lifted off his chest. It had been one of the men that worked with them on the case, a man who believed these two women shouldn’t be allowed on the same field as he, a man who had been hurting and ruining lives, almost getting away with it as he pretended to be a concerned investigator the entire time.  A man who even as he was being put away spat unsavory remarks about Jaxon’s parents, and he finally showed his true colors, and after 3 years of solitude and obsessions, he could finally let go.

The car ride home felt eternal, and not even the many visages of his favorite places growing up could bring a smile. His home was not what it used to be, it was full of dust and water damage, neglect shown on every surface but that just meant he could actually put his mind to work on something. Within a week he had it back to the shape it had once been, and weirdly enough the place that hadn’t been touched by neglect had been his parents’ room, where he had put up an evidence board, tacks pinning down every picture or clue that he found about the case. He was back home, and he was a different person, now he wanted to figure out if he could go back normalcy, find his old friends, maybe even find love in a place where he never thought he’d actually find it. Jaxon still fears the water, but he’s found that he’s able to paint it, bring back his old passion in art and be able to sell it. Crescent Harbor would never be the same for him, and the maybes and what ifs of his life would always remain, but maybe there would be light at the end of this tunnel, as he’s found himself being playful and smiling once more. Wanting to open up an exhibit and write about the many tales of his parents exploits, including his own, so he could put that chapter of his life, to an end.

she grew up near nashville, tennessee the daughter to a wealthy lawyer as her father and stay at home mother. she knew she was destined to be a ballerina the first time she saw The Nutcracker ballet. she begged her mother to let her go to ballet school, which luckily met a few days a week after school hours, which was the selling point that allowed her parents to let her go.

it was important to her parents that she finished her public education through high school at least, so she did and she didn’t slack off or anything in school. she tried to maintain decent grades, but it was clear she wasn’t as interested in classes that she couldn’t express her creativity in. she worked much harder to train and impress her teachers in ballet school.

her teachers often complimented her hard work, saying that she had excellent discipline and form. by the time she graduated high school, she had even been in minor roles for the Nashville Ballet’s Nutcracker but now she was ready to dance for the company full time. she would spend most of the ballet season downtown in the actual city of Nashville for the season and the few months she wasn’t on stage, she’d come back home.

she did have many solo performances throughout her years dancing for the Nashville Ballet, but she knew after battling through a few minor sprains that her body just wasn’t up for the rigor of the ballet anymore. she moved in with her parents temporarily but that was cut short when the three of them were in a car accident and millie was the sole survivor. after the funeral, she learned she was getting a pretty nice inheritance and she also sold her parent’s house, got in her car, and she didn’t look back. 

she didn’t have any plans as far as where she was going — just somewhere where no one would know her name. she stopped in kingshaven for gas primarily but then she ate at the Italian restaurant and ended up charmed by the town. she got a job at the restaurant for now and has stayed in the town for three months now. right now, she doesn’t have plans to leave but she is still a little cautious about planting too many roots in town, but she’s also not the type to be closed off as she enjoys getting to know people and maybe finding people that make it worth staying for good.

The Von Family - a name with a reputation of nothing good. Richard Von comes from a trailer park family with a bad taste of chaos. However, Nowa is the kind of man who has tried hard to separate himself from that. When people think of Nowa, a gentle giant is the immediate reference that comes to mind. It's what he is - a man with a heart of gold that is ready to protect and be there for his family at a drop of a dime.

The Von family is made up of seven siblings - all of different mothers but the same father. Each sibling has their mess of trauma and sin. They call themsleves the Seven Deadly Sins. Nowa is the second oldest Von child.

Mom was a total addict so he often lived with his father more than anything else. Grew up close to his older brother since he lived with their dad whenever shit got too bad with his mom.

Really resents his father for all his bullshit and the mess he made. He blames his siblings’ (and his own) dysfunction on him.

Grew up with a sense of responsibility over his younger siblings as they came into his life.

Tried to stay in the narrow path growing up. Never doing much drinking or getting involved with the stuff the younger Vons did. In fact, he’s pretty ignorant to the extent of the chaos and vices of his family for a reason.

Put in the effort at school and was able to get a full ride to pre-med school. He became a surgeon and currently works at the local hospital.

When he was 28, he met his ex-wife Gina. They fell in love and were married a year later. Soon after, when Nowa was 30, Caleb was born.

He doesn’t know when or how but things changed in his marriage. Gina became exceedingly abusive.

Still, that all changed about two years ago. Needing extra help with his son, Nowa and Gina agreed to hire a babysitter/part-time nanny. Through a family friend of Nowa’s, he hired Oliver Sanders to watch Caleb. The two spent a year getting to know each other. Oli picked up on the troubles of Noah’s marriage. Nowa was drawn to who Oliver was. 

Oliver began to teach Nowa sign language to better communicate and it was an excuse to spend more time together. They danced around each other for a long time until they caved. 

After confessing their feelings for each other, they quickly fell in love and began an affair together. Eventually, Nowa did leave his wife and gained full custody. He married Oliver shortly after and the two started their family together. Though not many know the truth of how this all started. They just saw a quick shift in the home and in Nowa.

THE CHESS MASTER - this is an incredibly patient muse, they may seem oblivious, but in reality, they are quietly plotting something big. they’re intelligent and not everyone around them is aware of this, which works to their advantage.

Danny was born into a trashy family that lived in a small town on the outskirts of Nashville, TN.  His father was famously abusive in the household, beating on him and his sister more often than not. His mother was an addict who used heroin and coke as a means to escape the life they lived. 

She passed away when Danny was eight and his sister was three. Overdose. After that, Danny was left to try and raise his sister while dealing with their abusive father. Most of Danny’s life was spent figuring out his next meal and avoiding a beating at his father’s hand. 

The only ray of minor sunshine in his life came in the form of his first love (wanted connection). They grew up together, neighbors, This person knew of the horrors behind the Anderson home, but she tried her best to alleviate it through their friendship. Danny and her were complete opposites but it worked. They grew up as best friends and she was the first person Danny found himself actually caring for. More information is found below. 

His father eventually passed away during Danny’s junior year of high school under suspicious circumstances. Without the man’s domineering hand upon him, Danny’s familial ties disintegrated. He didn’t particularly care for his family and though maybe odd, the lack of being able to connect with people wasn’t abnormal...at least to Danny it wasn’t. 

From early on, Danny had developed a love for technology. A geek to the core, he was quick to learn his way around a computer and even quicker to learn his way around the web. 

He has built a reputation online as one of the best-known hackers. He is a certified hacker for a legal front but most of his sizable income comes from jobs he does through the dark web. 

A year and a half ago, Danny met Syd Whitechapel while the man was passing through his town. Their connection was conflicting at first. The two are far too similar at times to seemingly make it work. Not to mention that Daniel had been living in the closet for far too long. 

Sooner than both thought possible, they fell in love. Even faster than that, it seemed, the two were on the road. They left behind a mess of Danny’s hometown but there were no regrets.  A couple of months later, Danny planted a wedding ring on Syd’s finger while they were in bed together and that was their marriage. 

They lived on the road for most of their time, only stopping in towns for a couple of weeks at time. 

Two months ago, Baby - Syd’s car that Danny is convinced he loves more than him - shit the bed. Much to his husband’s dismay. While they are waiting for the car to be practically built back from the shell up, they are making somewhat of a life in kingshaven.

What the town doesn’t know is they gained more than they bargained for with these two.

Do not call him by his full name. He absolutely hates it.

Has a pretty bad temper and is sadistic to the core. A bored Danny is a dangerous Danny. His mind needs constant stimulation or he grows exceedingly restless and that leads to impulsive decisions that bring the sense of chaos and adrenaline he needs.

The kind of guy that can be ruled by his emotions (impulsivity) and thinks about things later.

Lower on the sociopathy scale so he’s able to feel some emotions at a higher intensity and comprehend to an extent but he prefers not to. He technically has a sense of right and wrong but blatantly doesn’t give a shit and would prefer to cause destruction at others' expense.

As a result of - what he calls his “normie” side, Danny can make more connections and does care about certain special people.

Daniel loves twizzlers - that is the way to the man’s heart. 

He knows how to ride a motorcycle. Owned one back home but sold it when he hit the road. 

Was a bartender in his early twenties and hated it so he only did it for a couple of years. 

Danny is fascinated with technology. He has heavily invested in it since he was young and has become a tech wizard of sorts, going as far as becoming one of the most well-known hackers on the dark web, even if not known by his actual name. Mostly, he does it for fun because why the fuck not? Besides the illegal stuff he gets to pull is downright ridiculous and sometimes, enjoyable. Plus, his comfortable bank account is not complaining at all.

He wears a silver band with the words partners in crime on his left ring finger - it’s his wedding band, handmade by his husband. It’s a combination of the original rings Danny got and the creation of Syd’s hands.

First Love/Best Friend: This girl was Danny’s best friend growing up and one of the few people he genuinely cares about. He has always had a soft spot for her and probably always will. She was sunshine in the midst of his dark childhood and the reason why Danny even knows how to love or really form any sort of connection with people. They dated through high school but mutually broke up at the end of it as life took them separate ways. They reunited briefly back home before Danny left Nashville. There is a sense of unfinished business among them.

Younger Sister: The Anderson siblings would have had a difficult relationship. To an extent, Danny would have been protective of his sister. Whether that is born out of genuine concern or obligation is up for debate. His sister would have had a front-row seat at the earlier and maybe more subtle signs that Danny had never fully been there in the head. The early signs of lack of empathy, manipulation, and sadistic behavior. However, these were minimal and often went unnoticed or overshadowed by the horrors of their home. Brushed under the rug as a result of just trying to survive. She left home to live with some distant relatives when she was twelve and they haven’t seen each other since. We can discuss their dynamic afterward. Would love to explore that relationship and how it would be now that they are grown up and have been separated for so long. 

Enemies: Danny has no regard for right or wrong and whatever he does is born out of either spite, boredom, or sadistic need. I would love to see an enemy relationship that bites him in the ass. Someone he wronged in the past? someone who can sense something isn’t fully right about him and calls out his bullshit? 

Previous Customers: Danny’s jobs online vary from menial things or higher jobs. From black mail, to finding out personal details of someone, to hacking into a major corporation for retaliation. I don't wanna do top albums this year I'm doing top tracks (that I've come across this year)

Idk what half the stuff I listen to comes from Spotify just swallows my tastes and regurgitates random stuff from the ether so I'm not even pretending to be cultured about any of these artists just to forwarn!

It's just good innit it's actually hypnotic I love it the build is lush

Complete tonal shift I know but I really like how thin the instrumentation is it's like just a tiny bit of percussion and a guitar and some brass and it feels really intimate, the singer has a lot of personality in their voice too

It feels like something I'd hear a band play live in a pub back in the country

THE BASSLINE omg it just has a lot of rhythm stuff going on it's so hype but it still feels really beautiful and thoughtful because of how the vocals and the harp work with the super speed bass

This one is just vibes I've not got much to say it just sound good c:

They certainly do have feelings about being a neet I can tell you that much (it's like heartbreaking they sound so broken)

I really like when people put lots of their personality into rap like the little laughs and screams and when you can hear their facial expression it's just really nice

This one is however particularly upbeat and I am a sucker for a toy piano

I've been listening to Brittle Brian for like 4 years on an old Bandcamp split ep thing they did with some other artists and I was finally like 'hey maybe I should listen to more than 2 songs' so here came this BANGER

I love the emotion of lo-fi bedroom produced music recorded through fucked up mics and how raw it feels, like no matter the circumstances the artist is going to get their thoughts out and yeah this one is that like a lot

This whole soundtrack is so wonderful but this one hits different for me, it's the start of a long journey full of anticipation at what lies ahead and it's like sad and hopeful and scared and excited and it's lovely

The Kingshaven Flight Initiative was the great convergence of minds the world over. Primarily taking place within the city’s Engineering District, the Initiative took to this Primus Potentian song to fuel their dreams and morale. The Initiative was completed within the decade and was unveiled by Jasper Pynnes the Tenth. It began with the biplane and eventually evolved into the great airship The Black Rose, and toward the twilight years of the Monarchy, some rudimentary jets were designed, with five prototypes being destroyed in the rebellion. The KFI was discontinued, seen as one of the many ugly reminders of the ambition  of the Monarchy

- Meet the Wilfie 🐺 -

About a while ago, I saw this post by [rainy_daze_arts] who is inspired by [iguanamouth] not wanting to skip out on a fun opportunity.

I decided to go on my notebook and drew something based on this "just the head" creature and uncovered the wolf-headed creature. The Wilfie (wil-f-ie - emphasize on the "fff" silent "i")

They take on the head of a wolf, same size as an ordinary wolf with its head overtaking the body, leaving the tail sticking out and its legs are replaced with hooves.

They come in all sorts of colors and they function very much like a normal wolf pack and yes, like the wolf. Its called a Wilfie Pack. Who you see before you is Benjamin the Gray, Jacob the Brown and Levi the Ginger (ish) I know I kept saying "more to come soon" and trust me, this one will have more. Its a really good one.

Where do I see myself in ten years?

It's a question we've all been asked at least twice in our lives, and one that I've never been able to answer with a surety. In September my dream was to start a gaming studio that focused on fresh ideas. Tonight, I have a goal that is far more within reach, at least comparatively. My dream is to work for Wizards of the Coast on Magic the Gathering. Specifically, I want to write for them, to weave the stories that the sets take place in. I've already started on a story of my own, and who knows, maybe Kingshaven will finally have a home in a world. Keep an eye on me @markrosewater I intend to deliver on this one.

Wayne’s most expensive listing now down to $6.9M

It’s still one of the Main Line’s priciest properties for sale

One of the Main Line’s priciest listings that’s steeped in architectural history has just chopped another $401,000 off its asking price, bringing it down to $6,999,000.

The 1890s mansion in Wayne has intrigued us ever since it first hit the market in 2016. It was designed by architect William Lightfoot Price, who once worked with Frank Furness and was one of first designers to use reinforced concrete. It was originally home to the Jacob Reed Clothier family.

Although it went through some rough years, the 7-bedroom, 5-bathroom mansion underwent a full restoration last year by KingsHaven Design and John Milner Architects.

But despite its makeover, the mansion is still looking for a new owner, likely someone who can handle 11,500 square feet of home.
