Nothing better than a very simple scarf to show off some pretty handspun...
I plied the last little bit as a boucle yarn but most of it is just normal 2 ply. I can't tell if the boucle actually shows up in the scarf, but as a yarn it does look very satisfying
This is my first project so please don’t judge. I’m trying to do a stockinette stitch, but it just looks like a garter. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.

The yellow is a garter section & the pink is supposed to be the stockinette section. I’ve tested the stockinette stitch with different yarn before & it turned out fine. I’m genuinely so lost. 😭😭 I think I was wrapping my yarn clockwise around the needle for a bit but I corrected myself & it still looks wrong.
First outstanding WIP finished! Technically, I cast this on, like, two days before 2024, but I’m still counting this as the first success of my “get shit done year” goal. I added a short row wedge to the back, so hopefully it won’t fold in half and will keep a collar like shape, but I don’t know if it’ll work out yet.
I was going through some old boxes and I found my FIRST ever knit project!
I got a pair of knitting needles from my older sister the summer before 6th grade. And in true ADHD fashion, I lost one of the needles before I could get started learning how to knit. Not to be deterred, I pulled the lead put of a sharpened #2 pencil, and used that as my second needle. I got yarn from my temple and a kids' "how to knit" book from the local library, and this is what I made!
And YES. I did wear it to school every day afterwards 😤
