Knuckles don't you just get tired of holding back? Don't you wish you could just let loose with your full strength without a care? Unleash your full power
Tumblr media
"No."
Did they really think he would put all this time and effort to hone his strength to such a fine point to just unleash it without care for other's well-being? No. He knew how devastating a single hit could be from him and he made sure that he never used it less he had no other choice. Life was precious after all and he had sworn an oath to protect all of it — which meant even from his own devastating strength if he had to.
It was rare for him to use all five hundred metric tons and beyond that he possessed. He didn't see the point of unleashing that on anyone less he intended to kill.

“That’s it, I’m gonna be late for work. You two,” Mrs. Wakowski gestures towards Sonic and Tails, “keep away from Knuckles.”
“Roger that!” Sonic salutes dramatically, and Tails follows suit,
“Noted, Mrs. Wakowski,”
Mrs. Wakowski manages to phone another friend to give her a ride to work, still fuming, while Sonic shrugs and figures he’ll spend time with Tails. They leave the house to go for a walk- it was a beautiful day after all. Sonic picks up baseball gloves and a ball on the way out of the house, and Tails swishes his tails in excitement when he spots the objects, setting foot out of the house.
A few minutes later you walk in through the doors, a few bags in hand.
“Hellooo!” You call out.
With no response, you raise a brow. Usually, the trio greets you. You then remember Mrs. Wakosky having work, but that still doesn’t explain the other three. You shrug it off, unloading the groceries on the countertop. You wash a bowl of grapes, walking around with them on the search for your favorite echidna.
You first check out the workout room, but he’s nowhere to be found. Then, the couch where you’re expecting to find Sonic and tails, but still nothing. Eventually you make it to the attic where Knuckles resides, a grape being tossed into your mouth.
“Knux?”
He grunts in response, not bothering to turn his head towards you. You tilt your head at him, raising a brow. Then you finally ask him what’s on your mind;
“Knux, what are you doing on the floor?”
“I have been grounded.”
You think for a moment, then chuckle.
“Hun, that doesn’t mean you have to lie on the ground. I expected you to be the type to still train or work out while grounded,”
“I cannot go to the workout area,”
“Are you making up excuses? You? Surely you can still do pushups-and sit-ups,” you teased.
He swiftly sits up, exclaiming; “You are a genius!”
You giggle as he sets off to start doing pushups, doing them at an ungodly speed. You always were impressed by his strength, praising him often. Although he claimed that your praises meant nothing, you couldn’t help but notice the way he smiled and sped up whatever exercise he was doing at the time.
You watched him for a little while longer, eating your grapes before getting an idea. You stood next you him and he paused his now one-handed pushups, looking up at you,
“What do you want?” You knew he didn’t mean to sound rude, so you smiled and replied, “I was just thinking- what if I sat on your back as an extra challenge?”
You’ve done it before, he was the one to ask you to do it last time.
“Excellent idea! Though, that is no challenge for me.”
He got back into pushup position, and you quietly sat on his upper back, attempting to balance. Once he counted 10 more pushups, your hand hovered in front of his mouth, grape in hand. He froze for a second, analyzing it, before taking a bite and humming. From then on, you offered him a grape for every 10 pushups. It seemed like a good way to keep him going, as he seemed to speed up.
Once the bowl of grapes was finished, you encouraged him to take a break. It wasn’t easy of course, but you got him to hold off on pushups until you came back with a bowl of other fruit- peaches, apple slices, and mangoes. You came back only to find him doing sit-ups. You sighed and he told you between soft grunts- “I am not doing pushups, like you asked.”
“Well- yes, but the whole point was to give you a small break. How about let’s pause for a little and spend some time together instead?”
He squinted at you, glancing over at your soft smile- one he couldn’t resist. You grabbed a few pillows and blankets from around the house while you got Knuckles to pick a movie that he’d be interested in. When you came back, he hadn’t chosen one, claiming that he only wanted to watch something you would enjoy. Very sweet and all, but you wanted to make sure he didn’t just get up and start working out halfway through the movie. So, you picked three movies of varying genres, and he picked the action one out of them- the one you already assumed he’d like most.
As it played in the background, you asked him what had gotten him grounded.
“The blue hedgehog wants me to ‘relax,’” he answered with air quotes.
You nod, humming, focusing on the movie. After you’d gotten all snuggled up in the blankets and pillows, he sat a few feet away from you.
“You don’t have to be a stranger, y’know. Come on, sit closer,” You muttered in a low voice, not wanting to talk over the movie too much. He contemplated for a moment, sitting much closer to you now. You offer him an apple slice, holding it to his lips.
It doesn’t take long before he’s asking you about the movie and why people are doing certain regular human things, you enjoying his short excited comments. He punches the air and kicks his feet when he’s excited over a scene in the movie, too adorable.
Eventually, he gets tired out and you feel a weight on your shoulder. You smile at the scene before you- you’ve never seen him so calm and peaceful. You’ve seen him happy, you loved playing games with him and the boys, but this was different. Seeing him sleeping was something unusual, as he rarely slept around others. ‘This must mean he feels completely comfortable,’ you thought with a content expression.
You lean back, putting the plate of snacks aside, and his head falls to your chest. As it rises and falls, he snuggles into you in his sleep. You begin to gently pet his fur, taking a moment to press a soft kiss to it. He wraps his arms further around you, tugging you impossibly closer, then loosening his grip.
It doesn’t take long for you to follow him into dreamland, soft snores emitting from you. Your hand still on his quills, head resting on the pillow behind you.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Hours later, Sonic, Tails, and Mrs. Wakowski come back home only to find knuckles relaxing in your hold.
“Huh, I can’t believe I didn’t think of that. He does always seem to calm down around them.”
“I knew they had a thing for eachother!”
“Sonic! Shh, let them rest,”
Tails quietly closes the door, letting the two of you relax in eachother’s arms.

i fucking love your monster au design for shadow could we have some lore abt him? (if you want to :])
Tumblr media
Apologies for the essay I'm about to drop for your ask jddfgsdkgf, but here's a sketch as a peace offering and I'll drop all the lore I have for you under the read more! Glad people are interested in it cause I'm currently obsessed with it lmao
OK so basically Eggman in this universe is still the mad doctor type, he’s just obsessed with the occult instead of robotics. He’s a mortal human but hunts monsters for experiments and he’s obsessed with gaining supernatural powers to rule the world, and Sonic and Amy with their usual group are his main enemies.
He has a big following of humans (who think he’s trying to save them from monsters) and a rather large army of other monsters who work for him - so he has a ton of resources despite being a 'regular dude', and he’s slowly collecting spellbooks and teaching himself magic.
He finds a rare grimoire, and it unlocks a treasure trove of dark magics. Now his big master plan is to summon a demon to serve him and gain ultimate power, to do this he needs the seven emeralds for the ritual.
Sonic and Amy are the main hero duo in the story, Sonic was cursed with lycanthropy as a child when a pack attacked his village, he was spared because he was young, and went to find a witch in hopes of a cure. The witch he found was Vanilla, her daughter Cream, and Amy who is her apprentice. Before Sonic could be cured he made friends with a few other cryptids who live in the same woods and in the end decided he’d rather stay cursed with them as he had nowhere else to go anyways. He’s not in a traditional pack (all were-creatures) instead they have a rag-tag group with all kinds of different monsters that live with the witches (Tails and Knux are in there somewhere I promise jkfgdhdf). He likes having the werehog strength so he can fight back and protect his new family.
Rouge is a born Vampire, not turned. Her parents were killed at some point and she took over their coven after she avenged them and proved herself worthy. She’s like the Queen of sorts and rules over a majority of the vampires across the world - she has eyes (and ears) everywhere, there's very little she doesn’t know about. So Sonic and Amy ask her for help when they realise Eggman’s planning something big. She has a huge hoard of gems locked up in a big spooky cliffside castle, she’s obsessed with treasure still. She agrees to aid them to overthrow Eggman in exchange for the seven emeralds for herself. She doesn’t want to use them for their power, so they agree.
Everyone teams up to find the emeralds first, but Eggman outsmarts them, and the ritual begins before they can stop him, and once it’s begun it’s irreversible. The only thing they can do at this point is change who the demon is bound to, so Sonic throws himself into the curse (he already has one after all).
Shadow is the demon that’s summoned. Typical demon pacts imply that he’ll do whatever the summoner asks, granting them ultimate power, but he’ll get their soul in return. The catch is if Sonic never asks him to do anything, he’s technically not indebted and Shadow won't get his soul. It’s a game of temptation, but since Sonic was technically an unwilling participant, Shadow's more intrigued than anything - he’s confident Sonic will eventually cave and ask him for something (they always do) so he doesn’t attempt to trick him, he sees no need.
Sonic now has a demon chained to him constantly, and he’s extremely on guard (demons are as powerful as creatures get in this universe) and he’s off put by how genuine Shadow comes across. Shadow asks a lot of questions, and Sonic assumes he’s doing it to learn how to manipulate him - Shadow finds it amusing. Eventually they get used to each other, Shadow and Rouge get along well (though they both tease Sonic mercilessly together so he tries to avoid her but Shadow will nag him to visit) Amy tries to work on a spell to break the bond between them but it's a notoriously hard spell to break (perhaps impossible as they destroyed the grimoire in the fight with Eggman), but eventually Sonic and Shadow are both unsure if they want it to be broken at all…
Sonic starts asking Shadow questions too, and finds out more about Shadow. Originally he was an angel - thousands of years ago he had a mortal friend (Maria) and the two of them were inseparable. Unlike demons, angels rarely interact with the world so her village mistook her good fortune as witchcraft and assumed Shadow to be a demon. They killed her over it, and Shadow was heartbroken - in a fit of rage he lashed out, wiped out their town and proved to them he could be the demon they thought he was. He became a fallen angel, scorned and bitter - not born of pure evil but clearly capable of carnage all the same.
Unlike hellborn demons, Shadow doesn’t enjoy mindlessly committing atrocities - he has to feel it’s a necessary evil or he’ll turn it on his summoner (this makes him dangerous to summon, he’s normally considered off-limits). He’s one of the more powerful demons but he’s hard to reason with to make it worth it. Eggman targeted him specifically because he thought Shadow would side with him as Maria was a distant ancestor of his.
Once the annoyance of being forcefully summoned wears off,  Shadow’s rather pleased Sonic isn’t trying to use him for anything - he’s secretly happy to have someone with decent morals to hang out with (he’s an outcast in hell for obvious reasons) but he’d refused to make mortal contact with anyone willingly after Maria for fear of resigning them to a bad fate all over again.
Again thank you for reading!! I'll have more art to share soon!! :)

Knuckles Series - My Way
Okay, so overall, my whole family had fun watching it together, and there were things I liked about it, and things I thought could have been done better.
So how would I have handled the series?
Buckle up, this’ll get long.
We open the same way (without Sonic’s voiceover – let Knuckles explain things and get us into his mindspace) and see Knux training in his home-built obstacle course. Once he’s done, he feels victorious, before his smile drops and a new expression clouds his features as a thought occurs.
Now what?
He’s the most dangerous warrior in the galaxy. He’s bested countless opponents, survived harsh environments and any challenger who came forth. He successfully completed his quest to find the Master Emerald, allowing his tribe and ancestors to finally find peace.
But that’s something he can’t understand how to cope with.
Peace.
He’s never known it. All his life has been a struggle, a fight, a battle to be waged and won. Now that he is safe, without constant bounty hunters after him, without fearing being tossed into an arena to fight for his life, what does he do with himself? What’s next?
This is when he heads back to the house to ‘battle’ the handymen. Maddie tries to soothe things over, but they drive off, and she makes her way to Knux, who’s celebrating his victory over the ‘trespassers’ with Cool Ranch Doritos.
Now, instead of her getting frustrated and just walking off to talk to the others about the “little red barbarian”, she sits down with him and tries to have a real talk. Tries to get to know him, and understand him better. He’s still in the kind of arrogant, boastful, “I’m the most dangerous warrior in the galaxy” mindset, so he’s not really listening. But she tries.
Next thing you know, he’s on the roof with Ozzy and Sonic goes up to chat with him. He meditates, does the fighting pit and Iron Throne, and gets grounded. All that can stay the same.
Here’s where we diverge.
Sonic comes up, gives him the “Just relax” speech, and Knuckles does some grumbling about it before sitting near the Master Emerald. He vents a bit about how he can best any challenger, but doing nothing is harder than any battle he’s ever faced. He just doesn’t know what to do with himself, so he prays to his ancestors for guidance.
The ME glows, and his father appears before him in a vision. Dad tells Knuckles he is so proud of him, and when Knux questions what he should do now, Dad tells him that the time for fighting is at an end. That echidna weren’t always warriors—they were protectors once, using their strength to keep those weaker safe.
Knuckles contemplates this, and asks what that means for him. He has already pledged his life to protecting the Master Emerald, what else is there?
His father smiles, and shakes his head.
“My son, there is so much you have missed as you journeyed to finish our quest. You were so young when I left you. Do you not remember the village? Our tribe? We had songs, and history, and traditions that brought us a sense of belonging and togetherness. We were more than a tribe. We were a family. A home. Any man is stronger when he has those he cares for at his side. Those he trusts.”
Knuckles bristles at this. “I was hunted for most of my life. Constantly searching. I have no home. No tribe. Not anymore. I am alone.”
Dad shakes his head again. “That is not true. But I fear you will not believe me, so you shall have to come to see that for yourself.”
Knux gives a harumph. “The honor of the echidna falls to me alone.”
“Our honor was tainted by the actions of some so long ago that the truth has become lost. Your quest is ended. Your fight, over. You’ve returned what was once used and lost by those with ill intent. Your actions are noble. That is where true honor lies.”
Silence settles for a moment, before Knuckles speaks again, softly.
“I miss you. I . . . was not prepared for what I found in my journeys.” He paused. “For what found me.”
“I know, my son. I curse my own stubbornness for not turning back once the battle looked too lost. For leaving you so alone. I beg your forgiveness for being such a fool.”
“You were a warrior. Your brothers in arms needed you.”
“I was a father first and foremost. My son needed me more.”
More silence. Knuckles looks so much younger now, his face relaxed and pensive, his body no longer rigid and proud. Now he’s just a lost child, missing his father, and unsure what his future holds.
“You must stop living your life for us,” his father says, his voice soft. “You’ve completed our quest, and I am proud of you for that. But this was not the life I wanted for you. I have seen how some can become so focused on battling to the death, they forget to live life in between. I want you to live, my son. I want you to find happiness and light in your world. I want you to seek out those weaker than you, and lend your strength to them.”
Knuckles is quiet for a moment.
“I have done things I am not proud of. Trusted those who betrayed me. Hurt people. Been tricked into helping those who are evil.”
“The fault lies with those who have tricked you, or betrayed you. Not with you for trusting them. You have a pure heart, my son. Like your mother. Do not let the actions of others cause that heart to grow cold.”
So they finish up their little heart-to-heart and Knuckles decides to take his father’s words to heart. No time like the present, so he sneaks out of the house to wander the town and see where he can help.
MEANWHILE
I haven’t gotten Wade’s story all figured out, but maybe he’s feeling particularly down today because it’s the anniversary of when his dad abandoned him. He tried to go to the bowling alley to try and recapture that feeling of being with his dad, but it’s not working and only making him more miserable. He gets smack talked by Susie (or whomever) and feels so dejected he just leaves.
Now, normally when Wade moves through town, he’s all smiles and greeting everyone. But today he’s quiet and sullen and walking like he’s got a little rain cloud above him. No one seems to really notice or care, but Knuckles notices and decides to follow.
He watches as Wade throws his bowling ball into the trash. Curious, Knux digs it out and follows him back to his house. Wade goes in, goes to the kitchen, opens the fridge to grab a beer, and when he closes the door Knuckles is just there, scaring Wade half to death. (I have a headcanon that Knux can be so stealthy he seems to just appear sometimes.)
Knuckles asks Wade what troubles him, which launches into the whole “I used to love bowling with my dad, until he just left” backstory. Maybe Wade’s been writing letters, trying to get his dad to contact him, to at least get an answer for why he left. But he’s never heard back.
Wade’s father’s abandonment is what’s caused Wade’s meek and people-pleasing personality. Maybe he thinks he angered his dad somehow or disappointed him and that’s why Pete left. So Wade never wants to do anything to anger or disappoint anyone else. But this way of life is making him miserable, because no one takes him seriously, and he’s treated like a joke. He knows this but doesn’t know how to change.
Knuckles sees the obvious answer. “If your father’s disappearance is what caused you to lose your confidence, then confronting him would help you gain it back.”
Wade’s not so sure, but lets Knux talk him into going on a road trip to Reno, where Pete’s competing in the Championship Bowling thing.
They still stop at Wade’s mom’s house—because his sister is a big reason he feels inferior—and his mom is exactly the same because I love her, but his sister has got to have a personality change. Maybe she’s always been jealous of Wade because he was the favorite child, or she’s a bit angry because Wade always held out some hope that Pete would come back (which in turn, gave their mother that hope, which Wanda never shared and thought a waste of energy). Wanda holds a lot of anger toward Pete for running out on them, and because Wade and Pete were so close, she transfers a lot of those bad feelings to Wade.
She’s not in the FBI. She’s not some bratty kid in a grown woman’s body, being a real bitch to Wade. But she has anger and bitterness toward Pete, and thinks Wade’s trip to see him is a waste of time. And maybe she pulls him aside and tells him this, as a way to try and save him from being hurt again. Maybe she even tells Knuckles that this is only going to end up making Wade feel worse.
As the siblings bicker and argue, making Mother Whipple feel bad, Knuckles has had it and declares that they will fight to hash out these negative feelings. He hands them both Nerf bats, and they just pummel each other as they spit out everything they’ve felt. Eventually an epiphany happens, and Wade yells “I just want to know that he didn’t leave because of me!”
Everyone freezes. Wade goes on to say that ever since his dad left, he’s always thought it was his fault. Because he wasn’t what his dad wanted. Because he did something wrong, or wasn’t good enough, or something. And he knows that Pete leaving hurt his mom, and his sister was mad at not only their dad but him too, so he tried to be ‘good’ and not make others mad. He was always afraid to be himself since then, because if his own dad didn’t like him, then what hope did that leave for anyone else to?
Wade felt forced to change who he was in order to survive. That’s something Knuckles can identify with.
Basically, the whole thing would be both of them coming to understand that family legacy doesn’t necessarily mean that’s who they have to be. That they can choose who they are, without some expectation hanging over them based on their ancestors. That their strength comes from within, not from being the best warrior (Knuckles) or having his father’s approval (Wade).
And that you can still find your home and family, even if it’s been a long time since you’d been part of one.
We don’t even necessarily have to have a dedicated antagonist in this. It could be a form of Man vs Self, where they find themselves in situations that their current behavior exacerbates.
If there is an external villain, maybe something a little different, like a collector of exotic animals gets wind of Knuckles being out of the protection of Green Hills, and sets out to nab him for himself. Or it could be someone who wants Knux for his secret fighting ring or something. This could bring up bad memories for Knux, of being captured and sold as a child, and forced to fight in arenas for the amusement of others.
All in all, instead of having GUN as the villain of the week (again), with some dude who’s using Knux’s own power against him (again), this could have had a more introspective feel that didn’t fall into the “kids have to fight some big baddie” trope. The enemy they’re both fighting is within themselves.
The whole point would be for Knuckles to realize that he didn’t HAVE to fight all the time, and discover that there’s more to him than just being the most dangerous warrior in the galaxy. That he’s allowed to have fun, to have preferences and new experiences that in no way have anything to do with training or besting others. That he’s allowed to discover who he is, and get back in touch with the child inside he’d been protecting all these years.
I want him to see things in wonder. I want him to explore the world, to be captivated by things he’s never seen before. To feel comfortable letting his guard down, being close with others, and just being a little silly.
I want him to learn that it’s okay to be a kid. And I want Wade to learn it’s okay to be a grown up. Because Knuckles grew up before his time, and Wade kept himself from growing up for fear of being like his dad, or being abandoned again.
I think there were some good kernels in the series, perfect for the fandom to take and run with.
I’m not sure how much I’ll play with the events of the series, but I have had some scenes with Callie meeting Wade’s family percolating.

POW.
Shadow winced from where he lay on the ground, still collecting the strength to put his feet under him. Sonic took the full brunt of Knuckles' fist to the face and careened through the air; the hedgehog smashed into–rather, through–a pillar before lodging in a wall.
And that, more than anything, spoke to the depths of the illness gripping the echidna; he wasn't taking any care whatsoever to avoid damaging the island and its ruins.
Shadow swore under his breath; even in his nonverbal, berserk state, Knuckles still retained the presence of mind to track Shadow's chaos energy signature, making surprise attacks virtually impossible.
"Heh. . ."
Shadow briefly took his eyes off Knuckles to glance over his shoulder. Unfazed–or at least undaunted, since he was sporting a new streak of crimson in his quills, courtesy of a bleeding head wound–Sonic leapt out of the wall. Though interspersed with the odd cough, he nonetheless laughed.
"Damn, Red!" He said. "I didn't think even you could hit that hard!"
Knuckles, as ever, didn't give any verbal response. The echidna groaned, swaying on his feet a moment before whipping his head from side to side, growling. A few of the verdant crystalline shards spreading over his body fell from his dreads.
Shadow watched Sonic's usual, confident smile slide away in real time; his eyes turned sad.
"Aw, buddy," he sighed. "You're really sick, aren't'cha?"
"Did you think I was exaggerating?" Shadow asked dryly.
Sonic shook his head, holding out a hand toward Shadow. Knuckles strafed slowly round them from a distance, shoulders and fists subtly moving all the time.
"Pass me one of your rings," Sonic said. "We'll go with your plan."
Shadow took the inhibitor ring off his right wrist and passed it over. He didn't know exactly how it would interact with Knuckles compared to his manufactured body, but it might at least suppress some of the excess energy he was bleeding off and calm him down.
They–and the island–couldn't handle a rampaging guardian indefinitely.
Sonic gripped the ring, his other hand bracing against the ground as he dropped his head and canted his weight forward; his legs flew into motion behind him like a revving engine, the pitch of the sound reaching higher and higher.
"I'll put him to sleep," he said. "You just make sure he wakes up later."
Shadow nodded, pushing onto his feet and steeling himself. He'd have to split his focus between accounting for the control of his chaos energy normally handled by the inhibitor ring and trying to somewhat keep pace. He wasn't sure how much help he'd be until Sonic secured the ring on Knuckles; he was still loathe to admit it aloud even after so many years, but he'd accepted that he couldn't move as fast as Sonic.
"Sorry, Knux." Sonic whispered.
Fft.
Sonic's knee slammed into Knuckles' jaw; the island guardian staggered in slow-motion.
Crack.
The thunderclap didn't come until a full second later.
The aftershock nearly took Shadow off his feet.
BOOM.

"My tribe was on the verge of its greatest victory. The last of the owl warriors had been located. Soon Longclaw's emerald secrets would be ours. But my father stopped me from joining the fight. He said my moment to honor our tribe would come, but it was not this moment. Those were the last words he spoke to me. I never saw him again." - Sonic 2
"But the giant owls, they did come. They had one mission: to kill everyone. Knuckles and Dad didn't know what to do, yes, they were doomed. The owls, they clawed and they kicked, they hooted and flew into fits, they set fire to the town and burned it to the ground." - Knuckles
Someone is clearly lying, and it sure is hell ain't Knux
I don't think someone is lying. The rock opera is meant to be Knuckles' history filtered through Wade's subconscious, hence why Jack is inserted into the narrative, and why it's a musical in the first place.
So the inacurrate details are a product of that. Knuckles didn't watch his father die and Iblis certainly wasn't using Facebook Marketplace, but the overall story (Knuckles lost his father to the owls, embarked on a quest to find power and discovered the source of his true strength) is the same

Behold my Sonic fankids!
Tumblr media
Buckle up y'all I'm about to lore-drop
Dash the Hedgehog: Son of Sonic and Amy. He's a speedy, fun-loving kid with a big heart. Future hero of Mobius but for now is mostly having fun exploring with his dad and racing anyone he meets. Also has a hammer like Amy's, with which he can do cool tricks.
Mouse the Owl: Adopted daughter of Sonic and Amy. Found and brought home by Dash after her parents were killed by an Eggman scheme. She's really sweet and a bit shy, and is basically the equivalent of Tails for Dash. Best friends with Tikal.
Nova Prower: The girl that grew from Cosmo's seed. Raised by single dad Tails and is a great mechanic like him! Loves sunlight and nature and going on adventures with her Papa.
Ash the Cat: Son of Blaze and Silver and twin brother of Aura. As the crown prince chosen by the Sol Emeralds, he inherited Blaze's fire powers. He's very stoic and serious, taking his role as future king very seriously.
Aura the Hedgehog: Twin sister of Ash. Is far more spunky and playful, and tries to drag her brother out to do fun things instead of studying. Inherited Silver's telekinesis.
Knuckles the Bat-chidna, a.k.a. Knux: Firstborn son of Knuckles and Rouge. Relatively rare in having mixed species features rather than only taking after one. He's rather rebellious and doesn't want to take on the warrior lifestyle on Angel Island, preferring thievery.
Spear the Echidna: Second son of Knuckles and Rouge. Far more serious about his tribal heritage than his older brother, and because of this is next in line to take on the Guardianship of the Master Emerald. Devoted to the warriors lifestyle and protecting his family.
Jewel the Bat: Daughter of Knuckles and Rouge. Sweet and simple, well-trained in fighting but prefers not to. Is dedicated to finding all the secrets of Angel Island, taking care of its Chao population, and recording the history of the Echidna for future generations. Not named after Jewel the Beetle but they do become friends after realizing they share a name.
Hunter the Bat: Son of Knuckles and Rouge. Inherited both of his parents' treasure hunting tendencies and loves to explore. His wings grew in too small, making him the only member of his family who can't fly/glide, although he can hover for a short amount of time. That doesn't stop him from traveling all over the world! Honorary member of Team Kid Chaotix (the next generation of the Chaotix).
Tikal the Echidna: Youngest daughter of Knuckles and Rouge. Small and spunky! Is still a bit young for warrior training, but she's ready to go when she can! Loves animals and swimming and playing around Angel Island. Goddaughter of her namesake, and is able to interact with her and Chaos. Best friends with Mouse.
Night the Wolf: Son of Shadow and Whisper. Autistic and almost entirely non verbal. Is super powerful, with Shadow's abilities, but is very quiet, calm, and stoic. Because of his resting angry face, people think he's kind of grumpy like his dad, but he's actually pretty chill. Very close with his "cousin" Knux.
Maria the Hedgehog: Daughter of Shadow and Whisper. Fun, spunky, loud, and energetic. Basically has the energy and noise of the rest of the family combined. Loves to get into fights and Night constantly has to bail her out. Also has Shadow's abilities, especially running. Loves to run. Always has a different fun design on her T-shirt.
Mint the Bunny-dile: Daughter of Vector and Vanilla. Like Knux, is a rare mixed-species kid, although mostly crocodile. Is hard of hearing due to physical issues with the connection of rabbit ears with a crocodile head. Is very big and strong, sometimes not knowing her own strength. Sweet and a bit rough-and-tumble. Is a big proponent of body positivity due to being mixed-species as well as growing up around primarily mammal mobians who were a lot smaller than her at the same age.
Gale the Hawk: Daughter of Jet. Fast, cool, and a bit egotistical but ultimately good-hearted. Loves racing and pushing herself to learn new tricks and new types of racing. Like wearing the "retro" hand-me-downs from her Aunt Wave (okay actually I haven't decided if I ship Wave and Jet or see them as siblings so for now it's just "aunt")
Thanks for letting me ramble! Feel free to ask me about my babies 😁

Hi :) got any knuckles headcanons? (or sonic hc in general)
Alright, buckle up cuz I’m about to live up to the third part of my name
Knuckles may have a short temper but He’s super chill and calm most of the time, Sonic is just exceptionally good at pressing his buttons.
He may act all rough and tough but he’s a huge softie and once you get to know him you’ll see his kind and gentle side.
he’s so good with small creatures and knows how to restrain his strength so he doesn’t hurt them.
Chao really, really like him. He grew up around them and know how to look after them.
It is not rare for Knux to end up in a pile chao. Especially on colder nights.
Since he can sense chaos he’s able to recognize all of his friends chaos signatures and he can tell exactly who’s on Angel Island. (It is possible for him to miss someone in the same way you can miss someone calling your name if you’re really focused on something)
It also means he gets an early warning for any chaos based moves and attacks.
His strong connection to chaos also leads to him being a target for things like ghosts.
He’s able to sense them, but they’re able to sense him. Malevolent ghosts will attack him first most of the time and ones without any true goal will follow around after him.
Knuckles’ Guardianship starts to apply to the people he cares about and anyone who hurts them will have an angry Guardian to deal with. (But he’s still willing to beat his friends up for fun because that’s a way sonic characters bond.)
He plays the aloof card, but he gets super worried when a friend is injured. Being a protector is a huge part of him and he doesn’t like to see what he protects in danger.
Less of a headcannon and more of an idea I like. (Although, with the Master Emerald this is possible.) But Knuckles with healing powers speaks to me, him being a skilled warrior who most people only see when he’s riled up for a fight, but also a gentle and kind healer that very few people ever get a chance to see.
and the idea of him being a grumpy healer who will yell at you for getting yourself into danger has plenty of entertainment value.
I love it when Knuckles get to have echidna traits. They’re such a cool animal an I think that should be acknowledged. Knuckles has big long claws like a real echidna does perfect for digging.
digging is a relaxing activity for him and he’s accidentally scared his friends many times by popping out of the ground with zero warning.
Also Since he’s an echidna he’s electroreceptive
the first time he was in a modern house he was so confused. He could sense electricity everywhere but no one else had any clue what he was talking about.
thats also another reason why he hates wearing communicators. He’s constantly able to feel electricity moving through it and it feels uncomfortable. (Tails is working on one with a lower electrical output for him)
It also means he’s the go to for finding faulty wiring. Tails just points out a room and asks him if the electricity feels weird.
The Master Emerald raised him and used its power to guide and teach him.
His ability to glide has a level of m.e influence to it. I’m not set on how much, but his gliding working the way it does can’t be 100% natural.
knuckles’ connection with the Master Emerald means that if he chose to fully tap into the Master Emerald’s power he’d have the potential to be one of the most powerful and dangerous creatures on the planet. The Master Emerald has been able to mess with time and space like it was nothing. It breaks the rules of gravity on a daily basis. It can make the chaos emeralds useless.
But Knuckles doesn’t believe the power is his to use and believes he is only there to guard it.
a situation would have to be truly, truly dire for him to choose to wield it.
Okay I still have a lot more than this, but I’m gonna cut it off here before I go on forever.

Knux Wachowski HC: Whenever someone treats him as dumb muscle, or states all he is good for is fighting he has kind of a flashback to the days where he was literally treated like an exotic animal by the people of casino Zone and forced into endless battles for their sick amusement. He goes kind of numb and zones out a bit during these episodes.
He'd probably have the same reaction if he found out about cockfighting and dogfighting.
oh yikesss poor kid 😭😭
sadly, he'd be very used to these kinds of comments. he was put on display and paraded around for his strength, for 90% of people it's probably all they know about him. that endling echidna kid that's a dangerous powerful warrior that annihilates monsters in one blow. most people that know of him across the galaxy are probably scared of him, if they're not one of the ones that see him as just a commodity.
he probably wasn't allowed to be anything but "good at fighting" in those arenas. they didn't care about anything else, he was just there to fight things and entertain. he lost so many years being denied a childhood and any education. "dumb muscle"? yeah. that's what those fighting rings wanted. he didn't have the option to be anything else. yeah, he doesn't know things. a lot of things. they weren't necessary knowledge for being a walking attraction, why would they bother explaining anything? why teach him anything that doesn't make for showier fights?
if anyone makes those kinds of comments he deserves to get angry and blow up at them.

It gets me how Adventure took 3Ks concepts mentioned in the Japanese manual (and US/EU PC port) and expanded them
First, the origin of Angel Island
Tumblr media
Consider in Adventure
-Pachamac's tribe took over others with vicious strength
-His attempts of getting the Master Emerald led to most of his tribe getting wiped out
The main diff in Adventure was that it was Chaos that wiped them out, and the land mass wasn't raised by some God. It was straggling survivors
And yes, there were *some* survivors, as noted in the Japanese Softbank Guide (in game context who do you think made the warning murals?)
Warning, Machine Translated:
Tumblr media
End of Echidna Arrogance
Pachamac's tribe was devastated by Chaos' attack, and their power weakened significantly. The surviving stragglers use the power of the Master Emerald to levitate the landmass around the Emerald Altar, live there, and take on the role of monitoring and protecting the sealed Master Emerald to ensure that something like this never happens again. They also left inscriptions and murals in the temple behind to convey this incident to future generations. Some Chao are also in danger of extinction due to the loss of the Chaos Emeralds, with only a small number managing to reach land with a suitable environment, and barely survive...
Incidentally this means Knuckles has no reason to keep Angel Island afloat; Chaos has been pacified after Adventure
Second, the environment on Angel Island
Tumblr media
In Mushroom Hill we actually see this in effect. Eggman's Machine wilts the environment as you progress through the stage
Tumblr media
What most don't realize, this affected the entire island!
Ice Cap and areas near Lava Reef in particular look different in Adventure due to this, being less extreme. Note: Lava Reef cools down in after Sonic's boss in 3K!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Side Note: Mushroom Hill was planned to be in Adventure!
Finally, this note from Knuckles in 3's Japan manual. Translation by Windii
Tumblr media
Knux mistakes the Death Egg for a literal egg. He implies some draconic legend...
Tumblr media
Hmm...
Do note it's been 3000 years since Chaos raged at the tribe. The legend likely got dilluted/misinterpreted over the generations, especially with dwindling numbers

I love what I started cause the weights arn't an exercise things, it's just a bit of extra help to control his punches and such. They don't hinder him at all even with normal activities.

Were-Knuckles has to learn how to control his strength again, that was the third cup he shattered while trying to get a drink
Definitely a bit of a learning curve there. Imagine Sonic comes to check on Knux and accidentally jumpscares him. Knuckles gets startled and accidentally punches Sonic, but it's so hard that Sonic just goes flying clear off the island. XD

Knuckles just ask
Sonic the hedgehog Fanfic
Rated: T
Pairing: Sonic The Hedgehog/Knuckle the Echinda
Summary: Knuckles finally asked Sonic out
⋆ ˚。⋆୨♡୧⋆ ˚。⋆
Caught in a mix of feelings, Knuckles, the guardian of the Chaos Emeralds, found himself reflecting on recent changes in his life. His usual sense of duty was transforming into a newfound warmth from connections and a sense of belonging to a tribe that felt like family. Amidst these changes, Sonic emerged as a standout figure – a shining star in Knuckles' world.
As Knuckles thought about their adventures and shared victories, he realized that Sonic had become more than just an ally. Their bond went beyond their roles as guardian and adventurer, evolving into a deep friendship. Memories of their battles against Dr. Robotnik and other challenges played like a highlight reel in Knuckles' mind. Sonic's carefree spirit had a way of breaking through Knuckles' tough exterior, offering him a different perspective on duty. Together, they faced adversaries that tested not only their strength but also their trust in each other. The connection they shared wasn't just about protecting the Chaos Emeralds; it symbolized the strength found in unity.
As Knuckles navigated his emotions, he couldn't help but feel a deep sense of gratitude for Sonic's role in his life. Sonic had transformed the once chaotic landscape of Knuckles' existence into a canvas painted with moments of laughter, daring escapades, and authentic friendship. Duty, once a solitary path, had now evolved into a collective effort, made lighter by the companionship of those, particularly Sonic, who stood by his side. In acknowledging Sonic's influence, Knuckles came to a realization – his strength stemmed not only from the power of the Chaos Emeralds but also from the connections he had forged with others. Continuing in his duty as the guardian, Knuckles embraced the notion that duty and joy could coexist, intertwined with the bonds of friendship. The whirlwind of emotions he felt settled into a calm assurance that, with friends beside him, he could confront any challenges the future held. Together, they would overcome the chaos the world threw at them.
However, Knuckles found himself entangled in a different kind of complexity. Sonic's impact on him had transcended the realm of friendship. The once stoic guardian now felt his heart quicken at the thought of Sonic's light green eyes and infectious smile. What began as admiration for Sonic's carefree spirit had evolved into a profound connection that left Knuckles utterly captivated. Sonic wasn't just a friend; he had become the focal point of Knuckles' newfound happiness. Yet, as love blossomed within Knuckles, so did the weight of a secret he carried. Despite the joy they shared, an undisclosed truth lingered – Sonic's curse. This hidden knowledge added a layer of urgency to Knuckles' feelings, casting a shadow on the burgeoning romance. The ache of this unspoken truth became a poignant undercurrent amid Knuckles' emotions, a testament to the complexity of the bonds they shared.
With the decision to ask Sonic out hanging in the air, Knuckles found himself weighed down by the significance of his emotions. What once started as admiration had blossomed into a profound and undeniable love. As he stood on the precipice of taking that leap, the impact Sonic had on his life echoed within Knuckles, creating a symphony of emotions that fueled his courage to bear his feelings. As he remained immersed in the watchful duty over the Chaos Emeralds, Sonic, with his characteristic exuberance, approached.
"Hey, Knux! What's happening?"
Sonic's lively greeting cut through the serene atmosphere. Knuckles responded with a warm smile, and Sonic, in his typical fashion, wasted no time in suggesting a hangout.
"I was thinking we could catch up, you know? It's been too long since we just chilled,"
Sonic proposed, his eyes sparkling with the promise of excitement. Caught off guard by the unexpected invitation, Knuckles found himself captivated by the enthusiasm in Sonic's gaze.
"Sure, why not?"
As the words left Knuckles' lips, he couldn't help but marvel at the serendipity of the moment. It felt like the universe was conspiring to bring them together. As they embarked on this casual hangout, Knuckles couldn't shake the anticipation bubbling within him. The decision to express his feelings lingered in the background, creating an undercurrent of tension beneath the surface of their seemingly ordinary rendezvous.
As Sonic and Knuckles found a comfortable spot to sit, Sonic took the lead in the conversation, sharing exciting stories of his recent adventures. He animatedly described loop-de-loops, daring chases, and encounters with robotic adversaries, painting a vivid picture of his dynamic life. Knuckles, genuinely intrigued, listened intently, getting caught up in the energy of Sonic's tales. Continuing with his exploits, Sonic delved into more personal thoughts.
"You know, Knux, I've been doing some thinking lately. Life's full of twists and turns, right? But that's what makes it exciting. It's like every loop-de-loop brings something new,"
Sonic mused, maintaining his trademark grin. Knuckles, a bit surprised by the shift in the conversation, nodded in agreement.
“Yeah, life's unpredictable."
Sonic continued, sharing reflections on appreciating the positive aspects of life amid all the chaos. "Sometimes I wonder if we focus too much on the chaos around us and forget to appreciate the good stuff, you know? The friendships, the moments that make us smile. It's easy to get caught up in the rush and miss what really matters."
As Sonic shared these thoughts, he noticed a subtle change in Knuckles' expression. The usually stoic guardian seemed to be processing Sonic's words on a deeper level.
"You've been acting kinda off lately, Knux. Everything cool?"
Sonic's genuine concern was reflected in his furrowed brow as he inquired about Knuckles' well-being. Caught off guard, Knuckles stumbled through a few vague excuses, attempting to divert Sonic's attention from the underlying unease. However, the weight of the unspoken truth lingered. Knuckles felt an increasing need to be honest with Sonic. With each passing moment, the burden of secrecy became more pronounced. Eventually, taking a deep breath, Knuckles confessed,
"There's something I've been meaning to talk to you about, Sonic."
The anticipation hung in the air as Knuckles summoned the courage to share what had been on his mind.
"I need to ask you something important."

Knuckles hesitated, struggling to find the right words. He started, stopped, and then began again, his usually confident demeanor faltering. Sonic, sensing Knuckles' struggle, remained patient, a supportive expression on his face.
"I, uh, it's just that, you see..."
Knuckles stammered, his words getting tangled in his attempt to express his feelings. Sonic, ever the understanding friend, refrained from interrupting, offering a reassuring smile and an encouraging nod. Finally, Knuckles blurted out,
"Okay, let me just say it. I've been feeling... weird lately, and I think it has something to do with you, Sonic."
A moment of silence hung in the air before Sonic broke into a grin, teasingly saying,
"Weird, huh? Never thought I'd see the day when Knuckles gets all tangled up in emotions. Go on, spill it, buddy."
"So… what were you about to say?"
The confident facade that typically adorned Knuckles' demeanor faltered, presenting an unusual vulnerability. Sonic found the stumble in Knuckles' words endearing, a departure from the usual self-assured stance he exuded. As Knuckles struggled to find his footing, a blush crept onto his face, adding an adorable layer to his usually stoic appearance. Sensing the nervous energy, Sonic couldn't help but appreciate this unexpected display of vulnerability from the typically composed echidna.
"I-I - well,"
Knuckles began, attempting to gather his thoughts. His purple eyes briefly flickered away before settling back on Sonic. With a small huff, Knuckles closed his eyes, summoning the courage to express his feelings. Throwing caution to the wind, he blurted out,
"W-will you like to go on a date with me?"
The shy inquiry revealed a charming vulnerability that Sonic found irresistibly cute, melting the cool exterior of the echidna. Sonic, responding with his typical nonchalant charm, flashed a grin and casually quipped,
"Sure, why not?"
The words hung in the air, a pleasant surprise for Knuckles, who couldn't help but break into a relieved smile. Sonic's teasing and casual acceptance transformed the tension into a lighthearted moment, making Knuckles feel at ease with his bold confession.

Looking back it's a good thing that Knux is such a good boi .Knuckles has a special connection to the Master Emerald, an infinitely powerful artifact capable of pretty much anything. An artifact that so many men killed and died to acquire for its power. And yet despite it's infinite power, Knuckles doesn't use any of it for selfish reasons . The fact he doesn't is a testament to the strength of his character. 🥺
If Knux wasn't a good boi he could have taken over/enslaved the world with the ME and reign forevermore as God-emperor💀
Yes indeed. It’s a fact that many fans seems to sadly overlook on Knux’s character regarding how he guarded the Master Emerald since he was born yet never gave in to its power.
