Simon would be worried about you, first and foremost. But also extremely disappointed; the dangerous stunts you do, especially with the wrong type of people, make his paranoia 10 times worse. 

When he had caught you smoking, either weed or tobacco, he was angry; instantly grabbing it from your hands, throwing it to the floor as he snapped at you. He had made a promise to himself — ensuring that you'd never turn into anything bad. And now, seeing you waste your teenage years with drinking alcohol, and potential drugs makes his stomach sick. 

Despite it being your first, or multiple times of doing your ‘rebel shit’, Simon is taking your health, and safety seriously; strictly warning you for the first and last time with a look of sheer disappointment and anger: “I don’t want to see that shit again–  y’know the rules of this house. D’ya understand me? Repeat it back.”

Simon thought you’d understand. You were a kid, still experiencing life. Finding who you are. You’ll be fine, as long as you follow his rules. But, when on a lazy Saturday, getting a call from 911 past midnight — saying you were arrested, obviously intoxicated, and smelling like weed? His impatience snapped like a rubber-band. 

In the end, yes, your beloved father would lock the key and throw it out; keeping you isolated in the house, with just him, where he can watch you. You can be mad at him, throw things at him. Hell, even say you hate him. But at the end of the day, it’s for your protection. 

Everything in the house is extra supervised — your internet, and screen-time is watched 24/7. Life360 is added onto your phone. The door to your room is removed, and covered with a thick blanket. The bathroom breaks are irritating, because if you’re in there for more than 10 minutes, he’s knocking and demanding to be let in.

And let’s not forget where he turns you to online schooling within a day or so. Making sure to get rid of those sick friends of yours, but you’ll never know what happens to them because the contact with them is cut. 

Make no mistake, Simon doesn’t like taking your free-will, he wants you to act and be like a teenager. And it is something he didn’t get to do when he was younger. 

But… he loves you, and if it’s what he has to do, then so be it.

Ganbare Goemon Production Material Museum Part 2: The Odd Shogun Magginess

The second part of the Ganbare Goemon production material museum from the now-defunct official site. This entry covers the second Super Famicom game in the series, Ganbare Goemon 2: Kiteretsu Shōgun Magginess (The Odd Shogun Magginess), released on December 22, 1993, an entry which introduced Sasuke as a playable character (he was a boss in the first SFC game), as well as the giant mech Goemon Impact.

Note: The recently-released fan-translation uses the spelling “ McGuinness” for the titular antagonist, but I decided to go with Magginess, since that’s the spelling they used on the filename. I’m not sure if the character’s name actually has an official romanized spelling (feel free to point it out if he does).

Production Tidbits

Yamauchi: Wow! This brings me back! At the time when Shōgun Magginess was being made I was drawing minor enemy characters.

Ebisu: What games did you worked on before being involved with Goemon ?

Yamauchi: I worked on the TwinBee series. Do you know Pop’n TwinBee? There’s a girl named Madoka in that game. She was named after me.

Ebisu: Seriously!? I don’t think anyone who bought that game would’ve even imagined such a character being named after an old guy.

Yamauchi: Who are you calling an “old guy”? Anyway, let’s talk about Goemon.

Ebisu: Well, Shōgun Magginess was my first directorial assignment, so I was pretty passionate about it. We were creating various groundbreaking gameplay systems and such. We did things like this and like that. It was so amazing!

Yamauchi: I don’t know what’s amazing, but I drew various stuff like Goemon Impact.

Ebisu: When we started development we only had three programmers, including myself, as well as three graphic designers, including yourself.

Yamauchi: It was a really small team in retrospect. But by the end of development our team grew to around 20 people.

Ebisu: That’s right. We wanted to put in stuff like that Xexex minigame, but we didn’t have anyone who could do it. So we ended up asking for people from the other teams around us to help us out. It got to the point that even my senior development manager got involved with the programming. It’s not something I would think about now.

Yamauchi: At that time newly-hired designers were required to bring over a floppy disk to the head of the development department and show off a screen of the townspeople. (laughs) Even now I don’t go there often, since I would be facing the boss. (laughs)

Ebisu: Me neither. I don’t do retakes. (laughs)

Yamauchi: Are we posting concept art and documents for the boss characters once again? We don’t seem to have anything else.

Ebisu: Yeah, I wish I had kept better track of my documents.

Description: A medium-sized mecha prepared by Marble Red, who loves sumo.

Techniques:

Vacuum Hand-Slap: A strong hand-slap that has a longer reach than it looks.

Buchikamashi: He rushes towards the opponent after posing in a stance.

Appearance: Area 1-4 - Sumo Castle (sub-boss)

Senshuraku

HP: 300

Description: Marble Red’s beloved giant robot. Despite being a self-proclaimed sumo fan, he doesn’t seem to be particularly skilled, with his main technique being a plainly named Hari-te (hand-slap) attack...

Techniques: Head-butt, Hari-te Bomber, Mage Bomber

Appearance: Area 1-6 - Dosukoi Plains (boss)

Kabuki Returns

HP: 250 (415 in 2P Mode)

Description: After being defeated by Goemon and Ebisumaru in the previous game he was recruited by Marble Blue in hopes of getting his revenge someday. He had most of his body modified into a karakuri mecha and has (apparently) improved.

Techniques:

Marble Bullets: Bombs which he launches with the Tsuzura box he carries on his back.

Poisonous Fog: A poisonous mist that he spits out from his mouth bit by bit.

Homing Wig: A flying wig that flies towards the player’s current position.

Appearance: Area 2-5 - Kabuki Castle (boss)

Tasogare Ichigō

HP: 10 (invulnerable while the hell’s candle burns)

Description: A mecha built by Marble Yellow, who likes to entertain people. He was been built to perform three kinds of shadow puppets functions, but none of them were particularly well-received to be honest, so they were given hostile characteristic as well.

Techniques:

Shadow Puppet Skill - The shadow puppets that he makes take form and attack the player. He has three types of shadow puppets: A dog, a cat and a black kite (that somehow sounds like a crow).

Appearance: Area 3-5 - Washoku Castle (sub-boss)

Sharekobe

HP: 300

Description: A giant lightweight mecha created by Marble 5 based on their prior experience with Senshuraku. The spinning top he stands atop on was idea suggested by Marble Green, who loves toys, and is one of the key features of this mech.

Techniques: Spinning Top Attack, 6x Marble Bullets, Deserter Spirit Ball, Otadutsu Kick

Appearance: Area 3-7 -Susono River (boss)

Omen Ninja

HP: 300 (500 in 2P mode)

Description: A multi-functional mecha that Marble Green came up with. However, he can only perform one function depending on the mask he’s currently wearing.

Techniques:

Unmasked: Jumping, Shuriken

Neko Mask: Axe

Kitsune Mask: Kick

Hyotokko Mask: Ninja Beam

Appearance: Area 4-7 - Kokeshi Castle (boss)

Mikoshi Tengu

HP: 500

Description: It was originally built by Marble Black, leader of the Marble 5, for Magginess’s Japanese Conquest Memorial Parade, but was modified for combat. It is equipped with a pair of Kadomatsu Launchers, a newly-developed weapon that can be remote-controlled.

Techniques: Elehand Attack, Nose Barrage, Double Elehand Attack, Kadomatsu Launcher, Thorn Barrage, Rapid Barrage

Appearance: Area 5-5 Magginess’s Army Underground Tunnel (boss)

Shogun Magginess & His Floating Kettle

HP: 100 (165 in 2P mode)

Description: He is actually a robot decoy built by the real Magginess to attract the attention of his enemies. His coolness factor is said to be 20% higher than the real deal himself.

Techniques:

Kettle Laser: A laser beam fired from the bottom of the floating pot.

Purple Umbrella: An umbrella-shaped bomb that explodes when it hits the ground.

Red Umbrella: An umbrella that opens up in mid-fall.

Kettle Attack: A charging attack.

Appearance: Area 6-4 - Magginess’s Castle Tower (boss)

Goemon Impact (Evil Version)

Description: A version of Impact that was successfully (or so it seems) hijacked after it was abandoned by Goemon and his friends. He pilots it alongside Omicchan.

Techniques:

Koban Snot Attack: Aims and shoots at the player.

Karakuri Punch: Three consecutive attacks are launched.

Kiseru Pipe Bomb: Impact inhales the smoke of the Kiseru Pipe and exhales. It doesn’t do any direct damage to the player, but it can cause them to fly high in the sky.

Marble Shells: Explosives thrown by members of the Marble 5.

Appearance: Area 6-4 - Magginess’s Castle Tower (boss)

It breaks their heart, especially on Gaz's part, that you have this fear. Something, or someone, must've caused it. And it only angers and annoys them. However, they can't help but love this side of you.

It's easier for them to manipulate you, making you stay home, away from outsiders, and stay closer to them. And, with them being already possessive, and the werewolf blood swirling in them, it makes them proud and almost excited that you have a need about being around theme.

All of them, especially on Soap's part, constantly remind you that you're theirs, and they are yours; vice versa. Most of them understand your fears, all of them going through the fear itself one way or another. And quite the contrast, they don't blame you.

Naturally, with having bad abandonment issues, comes with insecurity, ultra clingiest, and paranoia. Most of the time, Price and Gaz are always around you, glued to your side and ensuring that they won't leave you — and never leave you for ‘someone else’

Every day, all of them are constantly wanting to be near you, touching you, holding you, talking to you, smelling you, any way any of them could have you.

In rare scenarios, where they do have to leave (work or having to go somewhere in public where they don't you at), they assure you over and over that they will just be an hour, and come straight back. Making sure to pick something sweet up (a gift) to prove to you that you mean everything.

All of them do meaningful things, especially during the nights where they're the most energetic — Soap bringing you a dead dove, mouth stained in blood and a sign of I love you in his eyes.

Simon and Price both working together on bringing a bunch of roses, flowers, or even a pine-cone from the forest; nudging it closer to your form as you gently reward them.

Gaz naturally gifts you his things — ensuring that you can, and you will wear his shirts, boxers, or even hats if he asks. And if you don't? Well, you wouldn't want to make your mates sad, no?

Can I request poly soap x reader who love tea and books x ghost?

A/N: Uh yes!! This was really fun to do, enjoy <3!

Both of them don’t hate reading, but they’re not entirely compelled by it either. Simon would probably read a good Stephen King novel or a cookbook, whilst Johnny would be interested in history and fossils. Though, they often don’t just sit around and read all day; it’s something they aren’t all that interested in. 

But, that doesn’t mean that both of them aren’t going to stop you from doing it.

From day one, they’ve always supported your taste for books — frequently bringing many books home, and getting collector-only books as surprises. 

Both of them take turns cuddling you whilst you read, whether that’s before bed, dinner, or during a lazy Sunday, they always have their arms wrapped around you tightly. Of course, they ask questions during the mist of silence– laughing when you grumble for them to quiet. 

Every room of the large cabin has bookshelves, who were made by your beloved Johnny. They’re typically fitted by a window or firebox; letting you get into the right mood for reading, smelling your delivered tea from Simon. 

Speaking of Simon, it’s no surprise that he’s the best at making tea, ensuring it’s the perfect temperature, allowing the tea bag to brew at the assigned time, and adding whatever ingredients you like; using your favorite mugs so you can enjoy it precisely. Plus, he enjoys seeing you smile, bundled up in your blanket, or sweater. 

Johnny and Simon enjoy it whenever you tell them about what you’re reading, expressing your love for the characters or plot. Plus, they always ask if you enjoyed the book after finishing it. 

Oh, and, if there’s a movie adaptation, you better believe it’s a movie night date with these two. They always get your favorite snacks, a bundle of pillows and blankets, with a bunch of cuddles and kisses.

However, if you stay up late, reading till 3am… they won’t be too happy. As much as they enjoy your hobby, sleep is important — don’t you realize that? Don’t make them take away your books.

Nikolai:

Nikolai is oddly fascinated with it. He adores touching the coldness bars, looking at it, especially if you’ve decorated it with stickers or have different fabrications. 

He understands that living with a fake leg is irritating. Wearing the prosthetic, and getting ready each day, can take a bit of time. Perhaps take your mental state down, however, your beloved husband can never get away from his odd questions with it. He genuinely loves touching it, and being in your routine; being there for you in whatever shape or form. 

When in need of a replacement, Nikolai comes along and patiently waits. He’s in the same room with the doctor, making jokes and looking at you with a gentle smile. After you’re done, he takes you out for a little treat. 

Really interested in knowing what happened, but will back-off if he senses you’re uncomfortable or don’t want to talk about it. He definitely sees that it can affect you, so no pushing from him. But if you open up about it, he listens openly. 

Nikolai often helps you with night routines — rubbing in moisturizer on your stump, and trying to make you comfortable. He adores when you let him carry you to bed, snuggling you closer and letting him do everything for you.

Captain “Price” John:

He undoubtedly respects you more, not that he already does. But with what happened in the military, and how much you continue on, John admires that and loves how strong you are. 

From learning from you and online articles, he understands the process of an amputee is irritating. The constant staring and uneven walk is embarrassing. Constant chafing is hurting. But John is there, helping you out with his best learning advice and wants to make you feel comfortable. 

John loves taking care of you. He takes your prosthetic off for you each time you come home, hands swiftly moving, removing the liner and kissing your skin before rubbing moisturization for the times you are without your fake leg.  

If you have a day when you don’t want to wear your prosthetic, he’s more than happy to carry you around. Prepping kisses on your face, beard scratching at your chin as he lays you on the couch to get you lunch.  

It’s shown on many occasions that he’s not bothered by it, so nor should you. If he sees you looking at it, a frown prominent, John gets a bit upset. He touches your chin, focusing your look on him and promises yourself that you are enough, despite your change of leg.

Hobie is observant. He notices your tendency to cover the scars up with any type of long clothing. Though, he doesn’t say anything — and when you open up about it, he’s understanding and supportive.

He doesn’t force you to show them off or anything, since it’s a sensitive topic, but he doesn’t want you to be ashamed of your scars. He understands the reason you’re insecure about them, but with his comforting hugs and words, he hopes they’ll go away.

Some nights are harder than others, and when he happens to come home to see you crying, he gently picks you up onto his lap and tells you about his day as a distraction – making you talk to him, which leads to opening about your feelings and insecurities.

Hobie is sad to be honest. To see his beloved in pain and suffering from the marks he loves makes his heart shatter. With this said, he makes sure that you learn to know he loves all of you.

When he can, he will rub them absentmindedly whenever he sits beside you; pulling your skin up to his mouth and kissing your scars anytime he sees them revealed.

Allows you to borrow/and wear his clothes whenever you want. He means the best, and if wearing his clothes helps your state, so be it. Plus, you look adorable with his

If the feeling of relapsing ever comes back, he’s quick to distract you — with the help of the internet, he’ll use dyed-red ice cubes or band-aids, and makeup if needed. Though, he often distracts you with his tight hugs and giving you a try with his guitar.

Hobie will get upset if someone dares say something, especially if you're going out of your comfort zone with clothes. He will, at best, curse out the individual before swinging away with you.
