another one of my favorite genshin impact headcanons is the idea that kokomi is secretly a deep sea eldritch horror, sent by an ancient force to avenge the death of orobashi

this is most definitely not canon but imo it’s a really compelling idea. sangonomiya kokomi, divine priestess of watatsumi island, grace and elegance and benevolence incarnate, is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. a monster in disguise, risen from the barren depths of the sea, with one ultimate goal in mind.

make the shogun and her people pay.

every drop of blood, every life lost to the war, is more nourishment for her god. the shogunate’s soldiers will be fine prey for orobashi, and if the people of watatsumi die too? so be it. it doesn’t matter who dies. all that matters is that, in the end, what remains of orobashi is sated

i also like the idea that kujou sara is the only one who knows this. she’s the only person who has ever seen kokomi as she truly is, and as such, she dreads the thought of facing her on the battlefield. she knows that whatever demon hides behind that elegant facade will strike her down in a heartbeat. because all that lives, and all that comes from raiden ei, is nothing more than blood to water orobashi’s fields — and kokomi? she is no different. she simply exists to ensure her god is fed.

also before the war maybe kokomi goes hunting every now and then to drag the bodies of pirates or wayward sailors or shogunate samurai either to the depths of the sea, or to watatsumi. because after all, she is the divine priestess, and do priestesses not sacrifice too?

Being a qiqi player who's trying to have some kokopium with her really meh constellations, I keep seeing "but she's great in Co op tho" fam I don't want to co op they're people and I don't deal well with people

qiqi works great in single player mode too!!! i don't have her but who wouldn't want a lil zombie girlie, right? plus, she's a healer and healers are awesome hehe.

how 'good' a character is depends on what you make of the situation. as long as you're having fun, which it seems like you are, then it's all good!

Hello! New potion event made me use my xiao with kokomi and I loved her design and how effective she works with my Xiao. But I‘m already saving for Venti since the rerun speculation of him is dropped. Kokomi is really pretty and I love her, but Venti coming home would mean a lot to me. I also have only diona as built healer and shielder, and a benched lvl 40 barbara and c3 benny I’m benching because of max friendship. Do I really need to pull for Kokomi? Save for Venti?

There is no one in this game that you need to pull for.

It sounds like you have a lot of sentimental attachment to Venti, but you also recognize that you enjoy Kokomi's aesthetics/playstyle and she might be of more value to your account.

As long-term hardsavers, the three of us are biased and will always recommend prioritizing your primary objective (Venti), and catching anyone/anything you wanted afterwards during a future rerun. Ultimately, of course, the decision is yours.

(Fun fact--Ocean Hued Clam is also one of Barbara's new best in slots for both her Healer and DPS builds. You could always try building her as Kokopium for the immediate future.)
