What felt like an entire building—wrapped in bristling, choking fur—landed upon them both, smashing them pancake-flat against the ground. Juumonji couldn't move, could barely breathe for the weight atop his chest. What the hell was this thing?

"That's what makes American football so great!" Kurita was explaining, from somewhere far away. "I could face my opponents directly, but the whole point of the game is to let your pokemon fight for you. That's how Riceball here has gotten so big and strong! If you take all the fights yourself, you're taking away your partner's chance to grow!"

Riceball? Juumonji wondered vaguely, head lolling to the side. This put him in direct view of Hiruma, who quirked an eyebrow at the enormous beast that was presently crushing him to death. "Snorlax," Hiruma mouthed, and then grinned.

Kurita gave the thing a happy pat, and it wriggled in pleasure, sending another metric ton of muscle mass digging right into Juumonji's kidney.

Fantasy AU for ES21? Personally I see Hiruma as a trickster under the guise of being a demon, but that’s just me

I’ve been thinking about this all day lmao.

Hiruma would be Death himself disguised in the most obvious way where people are like ‘its so obvious theres no fuckin way’.

He has a dog named Cerberus of course it’s a fuckin joke. … Right????

He’s 100% Death but goes around and has fun messing with people. Hell is boring when everyone is dead and sad about being dead in eternal suffering.

Kurita is a half-giant that got adopted by humans and passes off as really big human, but later on they find out the truth and then he’s like ‘oh man my appetite makes more sense’.

He’s the strongest of the group and acts as their guardian.

Musashi is a mercenary that Hiruma and Kurita used to be acquainted with that they later meet again. Musashi gets dragged into their shenanigans when his dad tells him to gtfo and enjoy life rather than worrying about him.

Sena is a poor light mage that gets dragged into Hiruma’s shenanigans. This entire fantasy world is Hiruma making people a part of his shenanigans. He has the same light essence as Yamato and Akaba, but they each have their special characteristics, but since magic isn’t common people that have seen the magic before aren’t too familiar in their differences.

In this AU Mamori knows what’s up right off the bat and follows the idiots to make sure they don’t die from malnourishment. She’s a healer but…(See Reblog Lmao)

Monta is a random kid they found that Hiruma classed as a monk (lol). He looks like the monkey king at the end of their journey.

Ha-Ha Brothers are childhood friends, but Jumonji comes from a better off household that doesn’t like the idea of him mingling with the lesser folk. Like he gives a shit. Kuroki, Togano, and him all run off the first chance they get for adventure and hone their skills to become mercenaries under Hiruma. He pays well.

Yukimitsu is a warlock in training, but he studies in secret from his mom. He later escapes for adventure by telling his mom that the people he’s going with are escorting him to some normal learning center.  

Komusubi is really a dwarf with insane strength (not as much as Kurita but still). Witnesses Kurita’s strength and follows him to study.

Taki. He’s uh. He’s a bard gone really rogue. Tried to be a cool knight but was too loud and got kicked out. Went to the Bard’s college. Almost got his diploma but got kicked out. Whatever. He has a cool lute and the flexibility of a thousand snakes.

Suzuna has been going cross country to track down her brother and became a thief to survive, but soon finds enjoyment out of messin with people. This enjoyment of chaos is what brings Hiruma to tolerate her and let her in the gang.
