Korekiyo, first appeared unassuming. Charming, polite, articulate, what could you have possibly expected?

You were a fascinating specimen in his eyes, someone he could just watch for hours.

Soon as his fixation on you increased, he began to insert himself in your life more and more. He’d appear out of nowhere during private conversations to offer his opinion.

As well, he began to give you very extravagant gifts, expensive ancient artifacts, priceless delicate jewelry he insisted you wear immediately.

Wherever you went, Korekiyo was there to offer his “guidance”, Influencing any decision you make. He’d always seem to know exactly where you are at any given time.

Korekiyo has a private notebook dedicated to you, your interests, history, medical records, every interaction you’ve ever had with him, documented verbatim, including detailed drawings of you.

Korekiyo had build a shrine of your “artifacts”. He’s very meticulous with the things he collects, such as a strand of your hair stored in a locket, handwritten notes, even your favorite book that went missing. He took great pleasure in keeping your shrine clean as can be and arranged the items in his correct order every morning.

The more you hung around Korekiyo, the more his mask slipped, he’d occasionally let slip unsolicited facts about you slip out that he had no way of possibly knowing.

While he kept his calm and collected persona around others, while alone with you he grew possessive. He would try to convince you with his articulate words giving you an unwanted lecture to stay away from the others, giving you reasons they were no good.

Behind his composed demeanor you soon began to realize the intensity that lay beneath. The weight of his gaze as it followed you, studying you, anticipating your every move always one step ahead of any possible attempt to get away from him.

The more you resisted, Korekiyo’s behavior became subtly more erratic. You could feel his palpable animosity filling the room whenever you would ignore him for someone else.

When he finally got you attention, he would press you for details about your interactions with anyone else.

He always had a way for talking your ear off about various interesting cultural topics and ancient traditions, but over time you noticed them taking a darker, more sinister nuance. He’d explain in great detail about beliefs of ancient human sacrifice and rituals of eternal union with such an undertone in his voice that made unsettled you.

To outsiders, Korekiyo maintained his charming facade, skillfully hiding the depth of his depravity. It was only in private where you would experience the true depth of his limerance and suffocating possession.

Whenever you were seperated she tended to think about you a lot. Himiko still can't fully comprehend why your relationship was different from all the others, but she isn't complaining in the slightest. You bring such peace to her heart and it's so refreshing. Tenko is aggressive with her affections (just ask Himiko) so when she crushes on you she is obvious and intense. She'll gush over you and shower you with praise as often as possible. Gundham blushed, pulling his scarf over his face. "Be-Because my dear, it shows the demon and seductive energy that Dracula's brides have," Gundham said, making you giggle.

"Excuses, excuses," you said, leaning in to kiss him.

Gundham didn't waste anytime kissing you back. Your lips molded perfectly together, his lips rough, but in a comforting way.

His tongue swiped over her your bottom lip, asking for entrance. Giggling, you parted your mouth, and he immediately invaded it with your tongue, exploring every inch. Your tongues intertwining together, you moved your hands to the back of his neck, forcing him closer to you. Gundham moved his hands to your hips, pressing your chest against him.

After a few minutes of making out, you both pulled away from each other, both breathing heavily, a string of saliva connecting the two of you.

The sharp, familiar chime of your phone rang out from its place on your bed. You quickly abandoned your night routine, rushing out of the bathroom and towards the ringing. Your cheeks were still speckled with drops of water from the shower, eyelashes clumped together and glimmering in the dim lighting of your room. You were, thankfully, already dressed, though the cold droplets still ran down your neck and soaked into the neck of the fabric. 

“Shit, shit–!” you cursed softly as you nearly tripped over a stray shoe, whirling away from the hazard to hastily stumble towards your bed. You hastily wiped the palms of your hands against your bottoms to dry your hands, snatching the phone from your bed. You were sure your face lit up at the familiar picture of Korekiyo on the screen, a swell of excitement forming in your chest. 

“Kore?” you called his name hesitantly as the camera connected, still loading. 

“Ah, there you are, dear,” his smooth voice flowed through the phone as his camera finally connected, revealing his rumpled morning hair and drooping eyelids from his recent sleep. You grinned at the sight, taking in the rarer sight of him disheveled before his voice sounded again, “Just out of the shower, I presume?” 

Just as you processed his words, another cool drop of water slipped from your cheek down your neck. You laughed a bit, running a hand through your hair as you responded, “Oh! Yeah, you caught me mid night routine.” 

“Ah, apologies, love; however, if I may, you look… divine right now,” his voice dropped easily into a low purr, his head tilting as his gaze trailed over your features appreciatively. 

The compliment sent a rush of heat through your form and you could feel warmth already filling your cheeks. You bit your lip with a chuckle, waving him off with a flustered grin, “Oh my God, stop–” 

“And miss seeing you so flustered? Never, dear,” he retorted easily. You could almost hear the smug look on his face as he watched you, trailing a hand through his hair, “Mm, speaking of…”

You paused, humming curiously as you turned your attention back to the screen. His camera had shifted slightly, the rustling of fabric muffling his microphone. He was wearing a thin pajama shirt, hair still ruffled from his sleep moments ago. You tilted your head as you heard his smooth chuckle over the receiver. 

“You see, dear, I have a bit of a… problem,” he purred, eyelids drooping invitingly as the camera tilted down slightly. You barely saw the tip of the tent in his pants before he moved the camera back up to his face with a fake gasp, eyes widened in mock embarrassment. “Oh my! I sincerely apologize, my love… your beauty entrances me, love. It’s difficult to… control myself,” his voice trailed into a lower tone, inspecting your expression as he spoke. 

Your jaw dropped open as you processed what you’d just seen, eyes widening as heat inflamed your cheeks. “Wh– K-Kore–” you sputtered, covering your face with your hands as he chuckled.

“Forgive me, dearest, truly… I simply can’t help myself when you answer looking as delectable as you do,” he sighed innocently, head tilted, “...Especially after the dream that plagued me last night.” 

You paused, fingers slipping down your cheeks to peek at the screen, “...Dream?”

The brief crinkle of his eyes showed satisfaction at you taking the bait, and he sighed innocently once more before resting his cheek on his palm. “Oh, yes. The most wonderful dream, Y/N,” he murmured, “Are you intrigued?”

You bit your lip beneath your palms, feeling your chest tighten at the glint in his eyes. A familiar heat had already started to throb in your core, making you shift slightly to ease the persistent beat. Your words caught in your throat, torn between sputtering in a flustered manner and actually answering his question. Apparently you’d taken too long, for he cleared his throat gently to grab your attention once more.

When your gaze flicked back to him, his expression (or what you could see of it) was considerably softer, eyebrows pulling up to brighten his expression, “Have I overstepped? I apologize–”

“No!” you cut him off, watching as his eyebrows twitched up in surprise before you continued, “Um– I–... tell me.” You averted your gaze briefly, chewing on the inside of your lip. 

His expression changed immediately, mask stretching with the grin hidden behind the fabric as he chuckled, “Very well, then. Mm… where to start?” He tapped his chin with his finger in mock thought, “Ah, yes… Well, my love, I believe it began when I walked into your room and you were beautifully wrapped in the deepest red silk, wound carefully around your wrists, your ankles, your gorgeous breasts...” 

You swallowed hard, heart racing as his melodic voice slowly painted a picture for you. He trailed off once he saw your expression, eyes crinkling in amusement as you encouraged him onward, “...And then?” 

“And then,” he continued, lowering the camera ever-so-slightly to allow you a glimpse at the straining tent in his pants once more, “I began to unwrap you, of course. You paused briefly, considering your next move before shifting the camera back, letting him see your full criss-crossed form, settled comfortably on the bed. You took a deep breath, calming your racing heart before carefully unfolding your legs, placing the bottoms of your feet flat on the bed as you leaned back onto your palms. 

Though embarrassment flooded your body from the exposing pose (even if you were already dressed, albeit in pajamas), any nerves left in your body left the second you heard Korekiyo sigh softly, shifting his own camera back to reveal his arousal for you.

“I never do,” he promised, tossing the tissue off screen, “I’m going to shower, love. I’ll keep you on so you can hear the water running, hm?” Fabric ruffled past the microphone as he grabbed his phone, taking it with him to the bathroom. 

Climbing back into your cozy bed, you snuggled beneath your blanket, placing your phone beside you on the pillow. Your eyes began to drift shut as you listened to him hum to himself, the familiar sound of the shower starting soothing you into a comfortable sleep.

Shuichi Saihara

When you first started dating, Shuichi was still really self-conscious about himself, and was worried about his impression on your Dad. So when he asked him to help with his driving test, Shuichi thought it would be a great way to bond. Thank god he wasn't wearing his hat this time, cause it would be gone by now. I'm talking it would have flow into the Atlantic ocean by now. Your Dad was absolutely insane behind the wheel, and Shuichi didn't need to be the Ultimate Detective to know that. He desperately grabbed onto the seat to stop himself from flying away. The majority of the time he was silent, but at the last hurdle a giant scream rung out Despite feeling like the world was spinning, Shuichi actually made a good impression on your Dad! He was super thankful and appreciated Shuichi's help. With a shakey hand, he gave a thumbs up, dreading having to do this ever again

Gonta Gokuhara

Car? What's a car? Gonta has never even been in a car his entire life, even when he went to school. He always just walked everywhere, that's what he was used to. So when your Dad asked him to join him on a driving test Gonta was happy to assist! He really wanted to make a good impression on your father, and wanted to prove he was worthy to be your boyfriend. Oh dear god get him off this thing- For a first experience in a car, this was NOT ideal. Your Dad was infamously known in your family to be an erratic driver, and Gonta had never even been on a roller coaster before. His heart nearly jumped out of his chest as he gripped on anything he could grab onto. So many screams almost escaped his throat but he was trying soooo hard to not be rude! Gonta is a gentleman, he can handle this! Yeah, at the end when your Dad thanked him, he gave a weak smile and nod, legs shaking. When he offered to drive Gonta home, he QUICKLY declined and said he'd walk! For the next few months just the sight of a vehicle made him break out into a cold sweat

Hm, riding in a car, huh? Kiibo never really had to ride any vehicle or public transporation before, so this was a new experience. He had a minor moral crisis (a robot in a non-conscious vehicle? Is that appropriate, does he need to ask it's permission?). With your Dad's reassurance, Kiibo was able to shake it off and join him! If he had a heart, it would have lept out of his mouth at this point. The constant road bumps and sharp turns threw his systems out of wack. It felt like his eyes were spinning in their sockets. He kept trying to give feedback and tips, but every movement quickly shut him up in fear. He managed to be quiet at the beginning, but near the end he couldn't hold in the screams anymore At the end of the drive, Kiibo managed to realign himself and give some good feedback. He made sure to make notes on the speeds your Dad was going and the angle of his steering. Your Dad nodded his head and took notes, grateful for the input. After he got home, Kiibo pretty much collapsed into your arms (thankfully you didn't fall over from the weight of his metal) and nearly cried. He was pretty sure it was retribution for entering the car without it's consent. Just hold him for a bit, he'll get better

Kaito Momota

Driving lessons? Hell yeah he'll join! Kaito was already good friends with your Dad, so helping him with a driving test was a no brainer. Not to mention he's gonna be an astronaut, he's gotta get used to G-Force. Let's go! Oh lord. Oh lord oh jesus. Kaito is a brave boy... BUT NOT A BRAVE ENOUGH BOY FOR THIS- Sure, he isn't great on roller coasters, but he never expected to experience anything like this in his life. For some reason it was even worse! Probably because one wrong wheel turn and they could be dead. Unlike a lot of the others, he did NOT hold in his screams. Kaito was screeching at the top of his lungs, mouth foaming The moment he stepped out of the car, Kaito collapsed onto the ground. Feeling the sweet sweet earth was comforting. After thanking him, your Dad tried to console him, but Kaito insisted he was fine. He just needed a few moments or else he'd probably throw up. Thank god rocket launches are this bad! ...right?

Kokichi Ouma

Kokichi doesn't really give too much a damn if your Dad likes him. It's a nice bonus and makes it easier during family events. But even if he didn't like him, Kokichi would date you anyways. When your Dad asked him to look over his driving test, Kokichi decided why not? He was bored anyways, might as well do something to pass the time Okay, so he was fine... at first. For the first half he was actually having fun! It was kind of like a roller coaster at an amusement park and it was super exciting. He had his hands up and everything, laughing like crazy. That all came to a sudden halt when they were 1 second away from crashing into a tree, only saved by a sharp turn. Now he was scared. Kokichi realized that this wasn't safe fun anymore, his life was in the hands of an inept man. For the rest of the test, he was crying and screaming in fear After the test his face was covered in tears, and was left sniffling like a child. The thought of a man his age not having a license intrigued him. Most adults earn their license early in their development, usually at age 16. When your Dad asked for Korekiyo's help, he happily agreed. It would be a great way to study and inspect your father, and get a good read on your family's history and behaviors Jesus christ. Korekiyo has never experienced anything like this before. Let's be real, he is a kinky bitch, he's used to getting thrown around. But whiplash is not sexy! His body was as stiff as a board the whole drive, in fear of losing a limb. He's never thrown up in his life, but this is definitely the closest he's gotten. At first it was mildly interesting, even humorous. But at this point Korekiyo's plan to study and inspect was thrown out the damn window. All he could think of was the inevitablity of meeting his dead sister in the afterlife After the drive ended, and his life was spared, he let out a sigh and loosened up again. Your Dad thanked him for the company, and Korekiyo humbly accepted. At the end of the day he realised he didn't learn a damn thing about your father or your family that whole ride. Maybe it should stay that way

Rantaro Amami

When your Dad asked him to help with his driving test, Rantaro happily agreed. He had a good relationship with your father, and felt this would be a great way to get to know eachother. Drive around, chat a bit, have a good time Rantaro is a chill man. Nothing really fazes him, and even if it does he's pretty good at hiding it. This was no different, but fuck it was the hardest situation he's ever encountered. His mouth was tightly shut and his eyes wide open. He tried his hardest to initate a conversation, but every bump made his mouth clamp shut. Even if he got the words out, there was no way your Dad would hear, he was too focused on aceing this test At the end Rantaro put on a good facade of calmness. Your Dad tried to apologize and see if he was okay, but Rantaro brushed it off and assured him he was fine. The day ended on a good note, but Rantaro was sure he'd never drive with your Dad again... at least until he got his license

Ryoma Hoshi

Ryoma was fine with being a passenger. Your Dad was trying to get his license at a higher age, that's admirable. He can't really reach the pedals on a normal car anyways, so Ryoma thought it couldn't hurt to try out a normal sized car for once. Can't be that bad right? This man already knew he was going to be dead soon, he now accepted this car would be his tomb. Death Row was a distant dream, his body will be found in a pile of scrap metal. With every bump they hit, his body would fly up off the seat, only saved by the seatbelt. Ryoma was completely silent the whole time. There was no point in screaming Even when the car stopped, it took a hot minute for Ryoma to even get out. It took your Dad calling his name to break him out of his trance. His voice was calm when accepting your father's appreciation, but inside Ryoma was still ready to shake hands with the devil. He loves you so much, but that day it was tested

thinking about mastermind!korekiyo as a sort of weird parallel to mukuro: someone who wanted to befriend others but was manipulated by their sister into being a pawn for despair

some personal kore conspiracy thoughts below cut for those interested:

i think a lot about korekiyo's relationship to his sister less in terms of reality and more so in the way his thinking has warped to rationalize around the trauma. an important note before moving forward: i headcanon korekiyo killed his sister.

i think a lot of his character is unreliable narrator through the lens of guilt as a motivation

his relationship with his sister was extremely isolating, and people think he's offputting so they avoid him even when he's being friendly

whether you take it the canon direction of her dying of an illness or you're like me and think korekiyo possibly killed her, i think he feels guilty that he gets to do everything she didn't. she got him into anthropology and he gets the ultimate title, he gets the travel while she's confined to a hospital bed, he gets to live and be healthy while she's sick and dies. and they are both alone.

but then korekiyo gets close to people. in the case of the killing game; angie and tenko. his victims. he bonds with kaede faster than shuichi, and he passes judgement on the girls by comparing them to his sister to see if they're fit "friends" for her.

for the sake of the mastermind au my reasoning for the murder essentially goes as follows:

sister is the only person he's close to, isolation is exasperated by the nature of their relationship and its "secrecy"

kills sister (at time attributed to jealousy and possessiveness as she began to get close to other people)

despite attempts to stay distant, natural human pack bond instinct and years of anthropological interest means becoming close to and beginning to feel attachment to other girls during the events of the killing game (angie, tenko)

kills the girls he's closest to in a warped desire to repent both for the death of his sister for trying to have friends outside of him and for feeling as if he's "betraying" her by having done the same thing
