Alright, the first part of KTW: Runa is, admittedly, not the most thrilling. It is a crucial element of this 10 part story, and I’m extremely proud of it, but I’m also aware that it probably won’t hook people in the same way the rest of the story will. And I KNOW the rest of the story will, because (patting myself on the back here) it is fucking GOOD. These characters are engaging, the plot is tantalizing, the world building is done in a way that immerses you immediately but shouldn’t be completely overwhelming. And the writing? Like the dialogue with the characters and actual words on the page? Phenomenal.

But that initial “WOW!” element isn’t there in the first part. It feels like I’m committing a cardinal sin when it comes to creating a story. I’m supposed to reel people in. I’m supposed to create something so eye-catching that you can’t help but read more. And I didn’t do that in the first part, and you know what…that’s ok. Because the first part is still good, and shows off the style, and depth, and GORGEOUS art that brings everything to life.

So maybe I haven’t set myself up for the success potential accompanied by proper intro engagement. Maybe this is a story that won’t get discovered for awhile. But I know that people will love it. Not everyone, and that’s 100% fine. But it will find an audience. Don’t know how big, but that doesn’t really matter. SOMEONE will love this world and these characters as much as I do. I know it.

So prepare. There will be blood. There will be love. Not everyone has seen the truth in the world yet. But they will. Because these characters are driven by something that everyone, regardless of the fashion in which they observe it, has felt.

The hunger to make things better.

AUGH THANK YOU!! ^_^ I use Photoshop and the “Hard Round Pressure” brush :D and that’s about the only one I use other than airbrush occasionally for gradients + effects (on my rare crayon art i use a brush called “Pencil KTW 1 1″ if u google that the pack will come up!) I use the fade filters and clipping masks usually to give texture without having to switch pens! Here’s the settings on my brush: (plus a mini explanation/tutorial)

On other programs the same brush is called “Dip Pen (hard).” or just... pen  

Unfortunately I lost a working link to download Photoshop for free but if I find it I’ll link it on a reblog eventually! Tbh tho, you don’t need photoshop to make art like how mine comes out, because photoshop is actually very similar to every other painting site, I just like the set up is all!! I’ve used medibang in past arts as well and its almost equal quality (just a more confusing interface imo) also while ibispaint-x is less smooth its a very comfortable setup that I started out on, and still use for doodles on my handheld

REM KOOLHAAS

Rem Koolhaas diseña arquitectura que refleja el momento social, económico y politico del contexto donde se situa la obra. Procura darle prioridad a la masa sobre el resto de los elementos, generando arquitectura a partir de la forma. Analisando los procesos de cambio en la ciudad, toma los elementos del entrno y los reconstruye en formas distintas. 

La libreria Central de Seattle es un edificio que difiere con su contexto, sin embargo toma referencias de elementos de su entorno. Al ser un edificio de acero y cristal se comunica con los edificios de al rededor, sin embargo la forma se sale de lo reticular que lo rodea. Rompiendo con lo que refiere a simetria el edificio mantiene el equilibrio, pues hay balance en la forma por sus extruxiones y vacios. 

Al dejar un amplio jardin al rededor se genera una sensacón de una forma imponente dentro de un vacio.

El edificio de las oficinas Q1  diseñado por JSWD ARCHITEKTENes otra forma que impone en el espacio, conformado por un cubo que se desfaza por partes rompiendo la simetria y el balance. 

Con una fachada de acero y cristal contrasta de los edificios que o rodean por la manera en la que deja espacios vacios y espacios cubiertos con repeticiones de elementos verticales, generando una fachada con contrastes. 

El  Rotterdam complex es un conjunto de 3 edificios de ocho volúmenes desfasados  por la mitad. Los edificios contrastan con los dos que lo rodean, ambos dejan un vacio el cual le da jerarquia al conjunto.

Los elementos al desfazarse por la mitad a la derecha rompen con la simetria y el equilibrio de la composición.  

El edificio Shibuya diseñado por Ethnosn en Japón se comparte cierto lenguaje con los edifcios de Koolhaas, pues es un edificio que retoma elementos de la arquitectura de acero y cristal y lo reconstruye en un a deconstrucción de la forma, generando una fachada de volúmenes desfazados. Al contrastar con los edificios que lo rodean se percibe como una forma imponiendo en el espacio.
