Madhubala and Dilip Kumar (Mughal-e-Azam, Tarana, Sangdil, Mahal, Devdas)—Madhubala and Dilip Kumar had an IRL relationship for 8 years. Their irl love and chemistry made them one of the most beloved couples of 1950s cinema. Dilip was ready to marry her during the filming of Dhake ki Malmal in 1956 with the condition that she never saw her father again (he didn't approve of the relationship). She refused and they broke up soon after in 1957. The film Naya Daur starring Dilip Kumar and Vyjayanthimala was originally supposed to have Madhubala in it, her father refused to let her star in it despite her already having the contract, leading to a drawn out court case where Dilip testified against Madhubala. This spelled the end of their relationship and both of them married other people. Madhubala died in 1969 at only 36 years old. Despite their frosty breakup Dilip Kumar visited her one last time at her deathbed. Forever one of the most iconic couples of Indian cinema with a love story that still attracts a lot of speculation and is full of the romance and tragedy their films were known for.
Myrna Loy and William Powell (The Thin Man films)—i know they will have been submitted already but What If They Haven't Been!!!! the screen couple so hot together that people assumed they were married in real life! they match each others snark and dry deliveries SO well, theyre so married i still keep them tucked away in my mind as The Bar of established couples for movies. its also THEIR season rn new years is THE season for the thin man so a vote for loy-powell is a vote for love
This is round 4 of a mini tournament. Each poll lasts for a week. Please reblog with propaganda for your favorite hot couple. To vote in all the polls, click here.
[additional propaganda submitted under the cut]
Madhubala and Dilip Kumar:
Loy and Powell:

William Powell and Myrna Loy from The Thin Man series. Glamorous and witty, with the banter of a will they or won't they couple combined with the mischievous affection of the happily married. And they're detectives!
They're ridiculously in love with each other, genuinely enjoy spending time together, respect each other, and just look at them:

He's dapper! She's gorgeous! Asta is adorable! They're simply the best!

Nick & Nora Charles, my pre-Code LOVES. Wikipedia describes them in one line as a couple who enjoy “copious drinking and flirtatious banter,” and they’re right for that.

Myrna Loy and William Powell, their delight in each other on screen makes me deliriously happy every time I watch them. I’ll even watch the later Thin Man movies, even if they aren’t great, just for those two flirting and smirking knowingly at each other. Watching them as Nick and Nora, you just know those characters really enjoy being with each other more than anyone else.
They had sizzling chemistry, and their real life friendship meant that they actually enjoyed being around each other, and it showed on screen.

I know I'm probably not the only one suggesting them, but I HAVE to nominate my favorite on-screen duo: Myrna Loy and William Powell. The chemistry between them has rarely been equaled; they're like the fun, cool couple that's clearly in love without ever being obnoxious about it. I love all of their movies so much, but my favorites are the Thin Man Series, Libeled Lady, Love Crazy, and I Love You Again. Obviously, I'm not alone, seeing as they had 13 movies together. Also, them+Asta? True double income, no kids goals.
(I know other people will be saying this but One Must Be Sure). MYRNA LOY and WILLIAM POWELL. From The Thin Man (1934), After the Thin Man (1936), and all the other Thin Man movies etc. They're just so into each other in such an equitable way, they push each others buttons and tease each other while drinking like fishes and solving mysteries and it's REALLY HOT. They both always had a twinkle in their eyes and adorably wrinkled their noses at each other.

Myrna Loy and William Powell, who are both life goals and wife goals simultaneously. The ultimate gender envy couple.

Why are Bulma and Piccolo your favorite Dragon Ball characters?
It might sound weird, but I love Bulma because of her very glaring flaws. She is loud, short-tempered, vain, self-centered, arrogant, too-clever by half, and extremely bossy, all of which are traits that are generally given to villainous women so that we hate them. But Bulma's not a villain - she's a hero, and for all her faults, she's also incredibly smart, resourceful, and resilient. Bulma never says die, never gives up, always tries to come up with a solution to whatever shit gets thrown her way, and goddamn, she manages to pull something together more often than not! In fact, most of her virtues are connected to her flaws - that arrogance pushes her to defy the odds and succeed, her tendency to overshoot when showing off her smarts will lead to situations where she can apply those smarts under pressure to more spectacular results, and you know what, she is really fucking pretty, so why shouldn't she be proud of it? Like, I've said before on a few occasions that I love it when a hero has villain coding, and Bulma has all the same villain coding as Jessie from Team Rocket - but she's a hero, she's unambiguously a hero, and a hero we need more often than not, and that's so damn cool. I love that she gets to be this loud, bossy, arrogant, vain person who's nonetheless a good friend and incredibly reliable and resourceful ally, that for all her abundant faults she's still a lovable and iconic hero. Girl characters don't get to be those things often enough! We need more Bulmas in the world.
My love for Piccolo is a bit simpler/more obvious. One, he's got a kickass character design - he and Aku from Samurai Jack cemented my love of costumes with big fucking shoulder pads/pauldrons. Two, as a person who had never seen Dragon Ball and found out about the series when they aired Dragon Ball Z on Toonami back in the 90's, Piccolo was the weirdest thing that first episode threw at me, and it threw a LOT of weird shit at me in that episode. Talking turtles, cats, and pigs, a lady with blue hair, a guy whose kid has a monkey tail, aliens, all sorts of shit. But then there's this big green guy who everyone is terrified of for reasons the episode doesn't really explain (because there's a whole series you're supposed to have watched before it) who asks the father of the monkey tail boy to team up with him against the monkey tail alien, and the green guy has these weird pink ridges on his arms and the coolest fucking outfit I had seen at that point in my life, and when he takes off his weird purple ball hat thing it turns out he has antenna under it, and his teeth are sharp like a vampire, and he blows a hole through the dad guy's chest, like holy shit what an icon, I loved him immediately.
And then Piccolo proceeds to train the monkey-tail kid, claiming he's going to use him to take over the world, but as the show goes on it's clear that Piccolo is not as evil as he claims to be, and clearly cares for this kid despite claiming to only be using him as a tool, all leading up to the big battle with Nappa where Piccolo, that ruthless green slug vampire motherfucker, takes the killing blow to save the kid he stole. Blew my goddamn mind. There were almost no other characters in the media I had consumed as a child up till that point who matched Piccolo's moral complexity- about the only ones I can think of that compare are Dinobot from Beast Wars and Hexadecimal from Reboot, and, well, I'm also obsessed with those two, so here we are.
Piccolo had a great character arc and defined so much of what made Dragon Ball Z instantly special and unique in my eyes as a kid. There was no one like him, no one who did what he did, no one who looked as cool as he did. What a fucking legend.

The Monster Slayer Girl - A Fairy Tale (1800s, by Unknown)
Snow White by Tekla Brauer, 1900
A Finnish Snow White with a sword
Reading about the history of Fairy Tales in Finland by Kaarina Kolu, the first article in this book describes a Finnish version of Snow White, who is quite the girl boss (and dated to somewhere in the 1800s.)
The girl is the titular Monster Slayer, and she is not a princess to begin with. Her stepmother wants to get rid of her, so off the girl is sent to die alone in the woods. She survives by making friends with seven brothers (the first Finnish language novel is coincidentally titled Seven Brothers [1870].) The Monster Slayer tidies up the brothers' cottage and is regarded by the boys as their very hard-working sister.
The brothers have been bothered by monsters, all of which have multiple heads, and the Monster Slayers Girl slays them all by beheading all of them with a sword.
Then the wicked stepmother finds out that the girl is still alive. Wanting her dead, the stepmother knits an evil cursed jumper and sends it to the girl as a gift. The Monster Slayer Girl (now girlbossing her way through the woods in the 1800s) graciously accepts the gift and after going to sauna (Saturday night, obviously) she puts on the fresh new jumper, and lo and behold, she falls into a cursed coma.
The seven brothers commit suicide so their wraiths in afterlife can guard over their dead sister.
The czar's son comes by, hunting, and his hunting dogs alert the dude to the carnage. Because the Monster Slayer luckily enough happens to be a real hottie, the czar's son takes her corpse home and starts to worship her, losing sleep and appetite.
The czar intervenes and wants the Monster Slayer buried. The 19th century Russian equivalent of funeral home workers take the corpse to be dressed for a coffin, but once they remove the cursed pullover, the Monster Slayer comes back to live (and so do her seven brothers.) The prince marries her, and she lives happily ever after. Unlike in the famously written version of the tale where the wicked stepmother is given metal shoes filled with coals to dance herself to death with, and have crows pick out her eyes, she is just bummed :|
The fantastically interesting thing about this story is of course how atypically gender coded The Monster Slayer is. She has both feminine and masculine fairy tale attributes. Some have speculated that this is due to the fact that 19th century Finnish ladies didn't have the time to play at being frail, meek and weak, because life was very hard and you just didn't have time for that shit, which kind of is in another way confirmed in an early 20th century magazine article I read 10 years ago about another, much more famous mythic woman-of-her-own-terms being an icon to the average woman in popular culture (Louhi, from Finnish mythology, who has about all the same attributes as the male "hero" of the stories, except she is the villain because she's a woman hurr durr.)
Women and queerness in 19th century Finland
Reading The Monster Slayer Girl I did think that if you tried to sell this to the contemporary audience right now as a new thing, it'd probably come off as very modern feminism, with its 200+ years of age.
On a tangent: historically a lot of very contemporary looking/feeling things happened in Finland before nationalistic romantic cultivation and "fixing" of culture to match central European ideals, in terms of folk dance, Finnish dance jams often in many places included something akin to drag shows [something my folk dancing teacher, historian and friend loves to talk about] where a man would portray himself as an elderly single lady. Happily enough some folk tradition historians were able to make dance notations on the steps of these shows before they were lost to nationalist romanticism and cultural gatekeeping (and indeed, Louhi was replaced by a mom as The Proper icon for a proper Finnish woman, on the other hand that mom was pretty cool too, don't see a lot of middle aged ladies traipsing down into the Underworld with a garden rake these days. Since then we've stopped having national conversations on which mythic girlboss should a person inhabit in their daily lives, and maybe that's okay.)
My navel gazing part
I sometimes get told I write too many active women. I wondered about that last year. I think it's something in my genetic and personal heritage. When you come from a long line and culture of very active and charge-taking women it's not very easy or natural to create something completely out of that experience.
And it's not like it's my subjective experience either, it's a well-known trope that men have a hard time dating Finnish women because it's impossible to be chivalrous x)
(On another note I've dabbled creating sensitive ladies in an 18th century fantasy setting for my own amusement because why not.)

So I was tagged by @andy-the-8th (who is a gem you should all be following) and the question is: 10 songs I've been thinking about/playing
"Needed Me," Rihanna (the vibes are dark and excellent)
"Nostálgico," Chr!s Brown, Rvssian, and Rauw Alejandro (what can i say, i love a sad/toxic lovesong)
"Prisoner," Dua Lipa and Miley Cyrus (who doesn't love lesbian-coded vampires?)
"Open Arms," Steve Dookie and Jorge Rivers-Herran (I love the opposition of ideas these two express)
"One Bad Night," Hayley Kiyoko (no reason)
"Sunlight," Hozier (this song found me in January and it really represents a whole lot of emotions and shipping that slammed me at the dawn of this year)
"Heaven's Light/Hellfire," Tom Hulce and Tony Jay (funnily enough you're the reason it has been on my mind so much lately)
"Applause," Lady Gaga (solely because of this video about obsessed artists in media)
"Call Out my Name," The Weeknd (it matches a characterization vibe)
"Mona Lisa," Dominic Fike (ATSV was iconic and as much as I adore "Self Love," this song has such exquisite vibes that it had to be the one on this list)
I tag @vithcy, @soldrawss, @eirianerisdar, @leovaldelf, @alinahdee, @goldenspecter, and @kittarts. You don't have to do the explanations, I just was inspired by andy-the-8th's version and I thought the explanations were neat.

Lady Gaga MAYHEM live Tumblr reaction like the good old etiquette requires. The songs with the ✨ emotes will be my favourites
Disease ✨
Ok I absolutely adore this song and tbh I even like it more than Abracadabra, it's incredible. Love the lyrics, love the production, obsessed with her voice here. Those "aa-ah" vocalisations in the background live rent-free in my eardrums now.
Abracadabra ✨
Banger, obviously, we know. This is some of the most catchy shit on the planet and I love it. It's incredible how ear-wormy this song is, the beat is insane and those gritty synths are gay and 80s AF. If there's more in the rest of the album I'm going to ascend.
Garden of Eden
Ok let's go with the new songs. Eyyyyy let's start sexy with this 👀👀👀 THERE'S A CHOIR??? This is so early 2000s ahhhhhhh and I love how she sings the pre-chorus so beautifully, an angel.
Perfect Celebrity
ThIS IS ROCK AND DARK HOLYYYYYYYYYYY OH FUCK?!?!!????!!?? *grabby hands* This song gives streaks of dark makeup-stained thick tears running down my face while I sing. Get angry and scream mama. The lyrics are SO GOOD.
Vanish into you ✨
The way she harmonises with herself is insane. WHAT IS THIS BASS???? HELLO? This is beautiful, much sweeter and less clubby but still powerful. I can see this becoming an iconic romance song really fast, prepare for it to be (rightfully) everywhere. The lyrics are like a warm hug, beautiful.
Killah ✨
SHE GOT POSSESSED BY PRINCE??? This is GROOOOOOOVYYYYYY AS HELL hahahahhahahah yesss 🤣💕 The lyrics are so cvnty 😳😳😳 this came out straight out of the 80s clubbing scene. THANK YOU
Zombieboy ✨
WE'RE STILL IN AN 80S DISCO I'M LOSING MY MIND THIS IS HOT SPACE TIER GROOVE, WHO IS THE BASSIST?????????? I NEED A MOMENT 😭😭😭😭😭💖💕💜💖💕💜💖 THERE'S A SYNTHS SOLO AND HANDS CLAPPING
LoveDrug
A bit of calm after that injection of groove (thanks because I'm breathless), but we're still in the good 80s vibes and I love it. Power ballads are always appreciated 🙏💕 Her vocal versatility is insane and the lyrics are lovely, this really feels empowering.
How Bad Do U Want Me
People in the comments say this is Taylor Swift coded but I don't follow/like her so I can't really say, but from the little I've heard of her it makes sense. The beginning with that bubbly synths remind me of Spandau Ballet. Up until now it's the song I like less, it sounds a lil generic to me which is the same issue I have with Taylor. It doesn't vibe with me like the other songs, sorry.
Don't Call Tonight
Ahhh this is more funky again, thanks, I like this MUUUCH better 🙏 Gaga tell your bassist I love them. WAIT WHERE DID DAFT PUNK CAME OUT FROM??? Bonus points for that part hahaahahh, good song overall.
Shadow of a Man ✨
THE BASSSS AGAIN FUCKS HARD 🔥🔥🔥 Also hEY GAGA DID YOU GET POSSESSED BY MICHAEL JACKSON???? HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?!?!!???!??!? This is INSANE, release this as a single PLEASE PLEASE GAGA
The Beast ✨
Ooooo this is trippy, slow but powerful, veeeery cinematic, sexy, angry. Sounds like a MJ ballad with a sprinkle of Phil Collins, AWESOME. The guitar solo goes CRAZYYYYYY 🔥🔥🔥 Chef's kiss.
Blade of Grass
Ohhhh another ballad! And this is a love love power ballad. Gorgeous, this reminds me of Bon Jovi's Always in terms of vibe and intensity. This is dedicated to her Michael so it makes sense, we stan a lovestruck queen 💕💕💕
Die With a Smile
We already know this is a banger too hahahah but I must say I love how Gaga and Bruno's voices match, it's a GREAT intense song and perfect to sing-along. This is even more Always-coded 🙏💖
Final considerations: BANGER. This album is AWESOME and truly strucks my musical taste. There's only one song I don't like much, but the rest is just awesome, thanks Gaga I'm going to listen to this till my ears bleed 😭

Ethereal: The Lost Masterpiece of Michael Jackson

From the outside looking in, Michael Jackson’s world seemed to be crumbling in the mid-2000s. Legal battles, relentless tabloid scrutiny, and the weight of his own legend bore down on him. But for those who truly knew him, there was another story—one of resilience, passion, and an unrelenting dedication to his craft. While the world focused on controversy, Michael was pouring his soul into what he believed would be his greatest musical statement yet.
Between 2004 and 2009, he quietly worked on a secret album, recording in some of the most legendary studios in the world—Electric Lady Studios in New York, Westlake Recording Studios in Los Angeles, and Paisley Park in Minnesota. The project was code-named Ethereal, a name that reflected his desire to transcend the pain and reclaim his artistry in its purest form.
At the heart of Ethereal were two key collaborators: his sister, Janet Jackson, and the only artist who could truly match him in mystery, genius, and defiance—Prince. With production guided by Quincy Jones and Questlove, the album was meant to be an evolution, an unfiltered expression of Michael’s soul. And for the first time, he would not just be the voice, the dancer, or the visionary—he would be the musician, playing guitar and piano on many of the tracks.
Michael wasn’t chasing trends. He wasn’t trying to prove anything. He was making music because it was the one place where he felt safe, where he could exist outside of the world’s expectations.
The Bond of Blood: Michael and Janet
Michael and Janet had always shared an unbreakable bond, but they had not recorded together since 1995’s “Scream.” Though their careers had taken different paths, their respect for one another never wavered. Janet understood Michael in ways no one else could—she knew the pressure he faced, the loneliness that came with fame, and the pain he carried.

For Ethereal, they crafted “Bloodline”, a haunting, percussive anthem about resilience and family legacy. Michael played the song’s hypnotic rhythm on acoustic guitar, a steady heartbeat beneath their vocals. The lyrics spoke of survival, of the way music flowed through their veins like an inheritance.
“We were born into fire/ we were raised/ by the sound/ through the echoes of history/ we still stand our ground.”
Janet’s voice was both soothing and sharp, perfectly countering Michael’s airy yet powerful delivery. Quincy Jones described the song as “the kind of track that makes you feel something in your gut.”
Their second collaboration, “Reflections”, was a deeply personal ballad, built around a delicate piano melody that Michael played himself. It was a conversation between two siblings looking back on their childhood, the love they shared, and the innocence they had lost.
One of the most emotional moments came when Michael, in an unguarded moment, told Janet, “I want people to hear this and know I’m still here. No matter what they say, I’m still here.”
She squeezed his hand and simply said, “Then let’s make them listen.”
The Ultimate Collaboration: Michael and Prince
For decades, fans had speculated about a Michael Jackson and Prince collaboration. The supposed rivalry, the contrasts in their styles, and their mutual respect had fueled endless myths. But in the privacy of Paisley Park, away from cameras and expectations, the two icons came together—not as competitors, but as artists.
Prince was wary at first. He had always been private, skeptical of the industry, and fiercely independent. But when Michael walked into the studio, guitar in hand, and said, “Let’s make something nobody’s ready for,” Prince knew this was different.

Their first creation was “Harmonic Convergence”, a sprawling, seven-minute funk odyssey. It was raw, electric, and unpredictable. Michael’s rhythm guitar locked into Prince’s lead like puzzle pieces, their voices weaving in and out of each other.
The song wasn’t about fame, money, or validation. It was about the power of music—the way it could elevate, heal, and connect.
“When the beat calls/ don’t you run/ let the rhythm set you free/ we ain’t bound/ by space or time/ only sound/ only energy.”
Prince played an incendiary solo, his fingers moving effortlessly over the fretboard, while Michael stood beside him, eyes closed, feeling every note. Questlove later described the moment as “two geniuses speaking in a language only they could understand.”
The second track, “The Other Side of Midnight”, was something completely unexpected: a slow-burning, jazz-infused piece that saw both men stepping outside their comfort zones. Prince sat at the piano, while Michael softly crooned over a haunting chord progression. The lyrics were full of longing, as if they both knew they were reaching for something just beyond their grasp.
Michael surprised everyone when he picked up a bass and laid down a groove so smooth that even Prince raised an eyebrow and said, “Damn, Mike. You been holding out on me?”
Michael laughed, but there was something vulnerable in his smile. For all his accolades, he still sought approval from those he admired. And in that moment, Prince gave it to him.
A Return to the Roots
The making of Ethereal was different from any album Michael had ever worked on. There were no label executives dictating the direction, no outside influences pulling him in different directions. It was just music—the thing that had saved him since childhood.
Quincy Jones encouraged him to embrace his musicianship, to not just sing but to play, to create from the ground up.
“I’ve always had the music in my head,” Michael confessed. “But this time, I want my hands to speak, too.”
And they did.
In one of the most striking moments of the sessions, Michael recorded a song entirely on his own—playing guitar, piano, and even drums. The track, “Weightless”, was a stripped-down piece about letting go of pain, of surrendering to the music. His voice was fragile yet strong, a reminder that beneath the myth was a man searching for peace.
The Legacy of Ethereal
Michael never got to release Ethereal. Like so many of his grand visions, it remained unfinished, locked away in a vault, waiting.
But those who were there—Janet, Prince, Quincy, Questlove—knew they had witnessed something pure, something real. It wasn’t an album designed to break records or dominate charts. It was Michael Jackson, the artist, creating for the sake of creation.

After Michael’s passing in 2009, Ethereal became one of music’s greatest what-ifs. Rumors of its existence spread, but no official release ever came.
Prince, when asked about it in an interview years later, simply smiled and said, “Some things are too special for this world.”
And maybe he was right. Maybe Ethereal was never meant for the industry, the critics, or the charts. Maybe it was just Michael, lost in his music, finally free.
Epilogue: The Story Continues
Though Ethereal remains unheard, Michael’s story lives on. In October 2025, his nephew Jaafar Jackson will bring his uncle’s legacy to life in the highly anticipated biopic, Michael.
For those who never got to witness the magic of Ethereal, the film may serve as the next best thing—a chance to see the humanity behind the icon, the relentless passion, and the soul of an artist who, no matter what the world threw at him, never stopped creating.
Somewhere, in the vaults of history, Ethereal waits. And maybe, just maybe, one day the world will finally get to hear it.

Walking through the picturesque streets of Cardinal Hill, you find Silas Addams, the 42 year old author originally from Portland, OR. Living alongside them in such a small town, you know that they're articulate and conceited, but what you might not know is that they are a human, and that they’re hiding something… ― Kieran Culkin, bisexual, male, and he/him.
-Content Warning: Drugs/Addiction, Neglect
Author notes:
Full name: Silas Bartholomew Addams
Gender: Man
Pronouns: He/Him
Age: 42
Birthday: August 2nd, 1948
Zodiac: Leo
Sexuality: Bisexual
Occupation: Author
Prologue:
Born in Portland, Oregon, Silas’ childhood consisted of fancy holidays, nice dinners, and extravagant dinner parties. While they were nice, they all usually ended with his parents having a few too many glasses of wine, a loud shouting match, and forgetting to tuck Silas into bed before he goes to sleep. It was these lonely nights where he first learnt his love for books, being joined by the likes of Mary Shelley, H.P. Lovecraft, and Edgar Allen Poe. This horror influence can be seen through all of his writing throughout his life.
Silas got his start in writing from an early age, being gifted his very own typewriter for his thirteenth birthday. While his first writings are hardly to his standards for publishing, he couldn’t stop. There were times where he ran out of paper to write with as he used up the front, back, margins, and packaging of the fresh ream he opened in the morning. He would regularly lock himself in his room only to come down for dinner, just to run back up before his parents could finish their second bottle of wine, and that's saying something.
Silas went from being a single child to a sibling on April 8th, 1965, with the birth of his brother Stoker. Stoker’s birth was a shock just about everyone, with most doctors writing off the chance of his mother conceiving about 3 years after she went through menopause, still, the little bastard made it.
Silas tried his best to give Stoker a stable parental figure, something Silas never had. He would make sure to tell him right from wrong, and tried his hardest to steer him away from replicating their parents actions. He struggled however, as Stoker never took quite a liking to reading and writing and Silas did, however Silas still tried his hardest.
At 19, Silas got his first novel published, “The Haunting of the Everwood Forest”, and started what many critics call his golden run. Iconic works of horror such as: “The Widows Crux”, “Sinister Reflections’, and less popular but still famous “A Phantom’s Kiss” became household names nearly overnight. At 26 Stilas moved out of home, and got a snazzy apartment in New York City.
Silas didn’t just stop there, he released hit after hit after hit, his publisher hit a proverbial goldmine. Fast forward a bit, got a dog, met his future husband, dabbled in painting, got divorced (lost the dog in the proceedings), and you catch up to Silas now. He hasn’t written a word for about 5 years, and is desperate to have anything come to his mind. Silas has recently come to Cardinal Hill to stay with his brother Stoker, and get what inspiration he can from the town's history of witchcraft, and Stoker’s crazy conspiracies.
Behind the words: A glimpse into Silas Addams -
What can be said about Silas Addams that can't be said about all the greats of history, smart, intelligent, good with the ladies. Some critics call him arrogant and conceited, but that's just part of the charm.
Silas’ perfect night would involve a nice dinner, a broadway show, and a long walk across the beach (the beach being code for a bar crawl). While he can be a little bit pompous, he is good at reading people, and loves to interact with a wide array of people. He claims it's a passion to learn about human nature, but deep down it's a desperate grab to think of anything to write about.

Set reveals/details from GenCon Summarised
Warning: this got long. Anyway:
Ravnica Remastered: Dominaria Remastered but make it Ravnica! Includes old border shocks [presumably all of them], as well as old border versions of Krenko, Mob Boss [shown on twitter] and possibly Arclight Phoenix [shown in the YT video, unsure why it was swapped out], presumably amongst others. Murders at Karlov Manor: It's a murder mystery set! On Ravnica! Also part of the Omenpath arc somehow? Presumably someone of note will die and also a lot of other people. Recognisable characters in the key art are Aurelia (Boros), Massacre Girl (Rakdos adjacent but not necessarily in the guild), and Krenko. There's also an Izzet Viashino, a woman who is aesthetically a cross between Rakdos and Orzhov, and a guy with a who I do not recognise but has Main Character Energy. (I'd guess Massacre Girl is playing the role of Genocider Syo in this production of Dangan Ronpa, in that she is very much a serial mass murderer but with a very specific method of mass murdering that rules her out. Heck I think her murder method is also scissors adjacent wtf) Main Character Energy guy also appears in another piece of art, with possibly-Kaya in the background? (The colour scheme fits Orzhov, the purple glow is very Kaya, and the gold headband matches "Kaya, Orzhov Usurper" but the outfit is a bit different to what she's been seen in previously) And also possibly Etrata? The art I'm on about:
Also there's a Cluedo variant. Probably a Cluedo-like version of Explorers of Ixalan, which I own somewhere and sleeved up and never got round to playing. Anyway. Universes Beyond: Fallout: A Commander deck release, so more Doctor Who than Lord of the Wings. Covers four factions. Speculation: Brotherhood of Steel are a dead cert but otherwise... like there has to be Supermutants and other wasteland dangers (Raiders feels like a weak basis for a deck), and I'd guess either the Enclave or the Syndicate. 4th is a toss-up. NCR doesn't quite have the iconic characters, Minutemen are only in one game, Ceasar's Legion is Problematic to say the least... doing the whole Nevada would be cool but unlikely... (The Courier as a WUBRG Legendary Scout?). In any case, it will not be coming to Magic Arena.
Outlaws of Thunder Junction: Wild West set and notionally an interdimensional villain team up. Has a new, Native American-coded, character. Mark invited us to recognise 'villains' in a key art picture but at a guess it's not as cut-and-shut as it was in vision design given that said character has a distinctive spiky weapon that is visible in there.
But anyway, returning characters there are: Vraska, Oko, and Rakdos (maybe he did all those murders at Karlov Manor). There's also a very short character who I can't pinpoint (like not "Nissa" or "me" short, "small child" short and so my default guess would be Animatou but she seems more likely to be wearing a dress), and another humanoid who's around Vraska's height. For that last one, I'd guess (and others have guessed) that they're Jace by process of "they're about Vraska's height and also stood next to Vraska". That figure does have very distinctive shoulder pads, but I can't pinpoint where I've seen them before if ever and the cowboy hat really throws off figuring out other parts of the sillhouette.
From inference, this will also mark the end of the "Omenpath" sub-arc of whatever the next big arc will be. Modern Horizons III: The third Modern Horizons, but this time with Double-faced cards! Mark used the phrase "turns into a Planeswalker" as an example so presumably we've got a card that turns into a Planeswalker in there. It will also be coming to Arena! In addition to the snake lady (as in, lady accompanied by giant snakes), we see art of a demon angel (demons and/or angels presumably being a theme) and the three Eldrazi titans in the sea stirring stuff up (literally).
Assassin's Creed: It will have some new kind of booster and I would put money on it being an Aftermath-style "epilogue booster" but called "beyond boosters" instead because "epilogue booster" would be a weird thing to put on the first boxes of Assassin's Creed Magic cards, yes. Bloomburrow: The little mouse vs giant [actual regular-sized] elemental wolf set! It's a no-humanoids set, though maybe we'll see one very confused humanoid who wandered in on an Omenpath. It's also the start of the "Dragonstorm" arc which is probably why Ultimate is (spoilers!) a return to Tarkir. It's the anthropomporphic small furry animals (actually small!) plane. Naturally, there be squirrels. It's also a weird kind of reverse palette cleanser for... Duskmourn: House of Horror: Really going into the 70s/80s Horror tropes. Think "Betrayal at House on the Hill" the entire plane is somehow a single mansion and presumably it's some Oldwalker's murder plane that got linked into the wider multiverse by omenpaths. [Further speculation: I am going to pre-emptively guess that Nissa and Chandra turn up here, if only because ending up on the H. H. Holmes murder house plane (that also serves both Eldrazi and New Phyrexia in one of the images we see) feels like exactly the sort of thing that would happen to the woman who by sheer luck and possibly also a carefully planned trap on the part of the Phyrexians ended up separated from everyone on the strike team but Lukka.] Innistrad Remastered: Ravnica Remastered, but make it Innistrad! Tennis: Interplanar death race! Takes place across three planes, two of which we've seen as settings for premier [standard-legal] sets but haven't returned to, and one that we've seen on cards but not as a setting for a premier set. Concept art includes a spooky jeep (like... an actual modern car but piloted by a beast-demon-ghost), and a motorbike that looks like a bright red collab between Kaladesh and New Cappena.
Ultimate (Frisbee): Hey, turns out all those very strong hints in Aftermath at a return to Tarkir were hinting at a return to Tarkir! We're also supposedly gonna get the best of both worlds [or, rather, timelines] and I am so sorry that I cannot come up with anything that scans to the Hannah Montana theme song as commentary on that. It's also the end of the Dragonstorm (sub-)arc by inference which... yes if the 'Dragonstorm' arc isn't beginning on the dragon plane I guess it would make sense for it to end there. Final Fantasy: Full on proper set by the look-see of it. It's meant to cover all 16 mainline games, unclear on whether it includes all the supplemental sets. Kind of wild, actually, given that Final Fantasy had a trading card game and also... my god that's a lot of characters though it's not like there's not a bajillion mega crossovers anyway. (like presumably it's the Dissidia card game or something). Also man fitting that to the colour pie will be interesting...
Volleyball: Magic the Gathering IN SPACE. Like. Literally that's the concept (well, top down Space Opera a la Star Wars. Not as far out as it sounds - I feel like it's a common old CRPG trope and so probably already in D&D to begin with. Still very in concepting. Also the beginning of the [CENSORED] arc. The name itself is a spoiler! (presumably for the ending of the dragonstorm arc which, as far as arc names go, does seem like it might be spoilery)
Wrestling: Return to Lorwyn/Shadowmoor! It looks like there will be some radical changes, which will be interesting to square with The Invasion of Lorwyn card but tbh I think feeling free to engage in light retcons to make a better game is fine.
eXtreme Sports: Unlike Elon Musk, WotC does not have an obsession with the letter 'X' and so instead we move swiftly on to...
Yachting: Return to Arcaivos! [Speculation: FOR PLOT REASONS because I don't think Arcaivos was that popular but... uh, Will and Rowan and Quintorius and Liliana and also the biggest library in the multiverse and it can show off Omenpaths so it's kinda weird that oh god it's like two years away anyway]
Ziplining: An capstone event set of some description! Mark was unable to say anything, but he did reveal, probably on accident that there will be a villain! Also it will happen somewhere! It is also the end of the [CENSORED] (sub-)arc and the Codenamed-Metronome 3 year arc.

main thing i wish to see updated (but highly doubt it'll ever be) in roots of pacha
is character design + portraits
some characters look... really bad. specially the black ones, specially their hair. pacha's portrait artist really suck at that. at best it's just passable and at worst super hard to look at
i like krak as a character but can't even look at him, it's sad. i get the genetics being weird (having a trait from each parents instead of a natural mix of both) is to make the player's kid not stand out, cause they can't code natural genes for that, but. i would prefer the kid standing out, to a bunch of people in the world looking weird
krak should not have been blond, and shouldn't have gotten a vaguely curly hair type. because of the split genes design, no mixed kids actually look mixed and it's really sad to see. other such charas include: illoe, mana and nokk
(i know mixed kids in real life can also not look mixed at all and be very white passing but it's 1/ not the most common way genetic works and 2/ this is a game, each character gets designed, meaning each trait is a choice... and it disappointing the see the most common choice made by the artist be this one)(not to put it all on the artist, i assume the whole dev team weight on this, which doesn't make it better)
recently found some old pre-release pics of the game and learned that a lot of non-white pachan used to be white, and just got a recolor (opposed to redesign) and it makes so much sense as to why so many of them look... off
also, give older characters better/more wrinkles. nann has none even tho she's old enough for her naturally red hair to become all white. and her eyebrows obviously shouldn't be black. none of those choices make any sense
less important design choices i'd like fixed: for ibon to no longer have pigtails cause it looks too childish for an adult and love interest, voda to get darker hair cause her current shade of brown looks really bad with her skin, and for zeda's hair to match what they were going for in her icon (mohawk) instead of the ponytail. also i don't get why her hair is white despite being young. it could just be a unrealistic shade like garrek's green hair, but i don't like it as much. black hair would suit her better + make her look more like her siblings. also give more ladies short hair! we have plenty of guys with long hair, so why are you so shy about girlies with short hair? illoe and anda are literally the only ones we got, it's super sad. i don't get why all old ladies in this game have long hair either. i know so few old ladies with long hair in real life, most have super short hair. oh, and skin tones between portraits and icons/sprites usually don't match, it's jarring

The Evolution of Feminine Fragrance: From Delicate Victorian Bouquets to Modern Powerhouses
The world of women’s perfume is a captivating tapestry woven with history, culture, and evolving notions of femininity. From the delicate floral bouquets favored by Victorian ladies to the bold and assertive scents of today’s powerhouses, the evolution of feminine fragrance tells a fascinating story of societal shifts and the changing role of women.
Victorian Era: The Language of Flowers
During the Victorian era (1837–1901), fragrance was a subtle art, often confined to the discreet use of floral-infused handkerchiefs and sachets. Delicate scents like lavender, rose, and violet were emblematic of feminine grace and modesty. Perfumes served as a coded language of flowers, allowing women to express emotions and sentiments discreetly within the constraints of societal norms.
Early 20th Century: The Rise of Modern Perfumery
The dawn of the 20th century brought significant changes to the world of women’s perfume. The advent of synthetic ingredients and advancements in perfumery techniques led to the creation of more complex and long-lasting fragrances. The iconic Chanel №5, launched in 1921, epitomized this new era with its groundbreaking blend of aldehydes and florals, offering a bold and sophisticated alternative to traditional scents.
The Roaring Twenties: Flappers and Jazz Age Glamour
The 1920s ushered in an era of liberation and rebellion. Flappers embraced shorter hemlines, bobbed hair, and a newfound sense of independence. Women’s perfume mirrored this spirit with daring and sensual fragrances featuring notes of jasmine, tuberose, and exotic spices.
Mid-20th Century: Post-War Elegance
The post-war period witnessed a return to classic elegance and femininity. Women’s perfumes reflected this refined aesthetic with powdery florals, aldehydes, and green notes. Fragrances like Joy by Jean Patou and Miss Dior captured the essence of post-war optimism and glamour.
1960s and 1970s: Youthquake and Counterculture
The 1960s and 1970s brought a wave of social change and counterculture movements. Women’s liberation and the sexual revolution challenged traditional notions of femininity. Perfumes embraced a more natural and earthy aesthetic with patchouli, musk, and sandalwood notes.
1980s: Power Dressing and Big Hair
The 1980s were a decade of excess and extravagance. Women’s fashion embraced power suits and bold shoulder pads, and perfumes followed suit with strong, heady scents featuring notes of tuberose, amber, and civet. This era celebrated unapologetic femininity and power.
1990s: Minimalism and Freshness
The 1990s saw a shift towards minimalism and a more understated approach to beauty. Women’s perfume reflected this trend with clean, fresh scents dominated by aquatic and ozonic notes. The iconic CK One, launched in 1994, embodied this unisex and minimalist aesthetic.
21st Century: Diversity and Individuality
The 21st century celebrates diversity and individuality in all aspects of life, including fragrance. Women’s perfume has become a means of self-expression, with a vast array of scents available to cater to every mood, personality, and occasion. From gourmand delights to sophisticated florals and everything in between, there is a women’s perfume to match every woman’s unique style.
Conclusion
The evolution of feminine fragrance is a reflection of the ever-changing role of women in society. From the demure scents of the Victorian era to the empowering fragrances of today, women’s perfume has always been a powerful tool for self-expression and a celebration of femininity in all its forms. As we move forward, we can expect the world of women’s perfume to continue evolving, reflecting the diverse and multifaceted nature of modern womanhood.
