Let’s say if you were invited to join me for dinner. Which one of these two packs of Economy Rice (菜饭) would you choose? Is it this box with lady's fingers stir-fry (okra), sliced pork and sweet & sour pork or the pack with sweet glazed hotdog & fries, crispy ikan bilis & peanuts and sweet & sour pork chop?

Bendakaya Fry / Vepudu
Bendakaya Fry / Vepudu is a Andhra style Lady’s finger fry that is so simple to make with less spices, peanuts , garlic and onion. This can be served as both snack and as an accompaniment for rice. It takes very less time to make this Lady’s finger stir fry. We all know how Bendakaya is sticky and difficult to overcome it sometimes. But once we learn the technique, we can make it crispy and tasty…

pairing: dark!president!coriolanus snow x innocent!wife!reader
summary: he’d won the election, much to your elation. now you’d have to navigate the fame, fortune and status as the first lady of panem. but coriolanus just wanted you all to himself, and he’d do anything to scare you into his arms.
warnings: possessiveness, murder, robbery, bad smut, controlling, tears, babying, kisses, fingering, oral (f receiving), p in v, kinda subby corio/dom, praise, sense of entitlement? breeding kink, tummy bulge, overstimulation, little bit of aftercare
word count: 2k
a/n: i’m such a bitch for making everyone wait so long for a delicate part two 😌 and i finally have the confidence for smut so heheh - yes i’m using tvd names a lot - corio/coryo use - tried out a new layout 👀
part one of delicate
you couldn’t believe it.
coriolanus snow, president of panem.
all of his hard work has finally paid off and you couldn’t be more happy for him. you wanted to give him a gift but you still had no idea what he would want. it seemed the two of you practically had everything overnight, so a measly gift seemed to be difficult to acquire, one that he liked? even harder.
so you’d decided to go out, the idea of surprising him exciting you so much you’d forgotten to tell coriolanus where you were going to.
so imagine his surprise when his assistant told him you’d left the house, viewing you on the security cameras.
which you had no idea were there.
coriolanus saw it as an act of defiance.
he had to move about this correctly, he couldn’t have you injured, but he needed to scare you back into his arms. to remind you of the horrible place that panem was.
over twelve stores, and nothing. so you’d decided to enlist the help of one of your few friends. “not a single clue of what he’d want?” elena asked as you stabbed at your fries, “nope.” you answered as you placed a fry in your mouth.
“well if he has absolutely everything then his gorgeous wife should be a nice gift after an extremely long day no?” you looked up at her, confused, “what do you mean?” she giggled, “oh god, i forget how you don’t know that much. you, y/n.” at your adorable puppy face she leaned in, “your body.” you jumped back at her words, “i… i’ve never.”
“you’ve never?!” elena slapped her hand over her mouth at your admission, “how? i mean you’re absolutely stunning sweetheart, how hasn’t he yet?” you played with the table cloth in your hands, “i don’t know.” elena twisted her fork around her pasta, “okay has he never made a move, or, have you never noticed the signs?” you took a sip of your wine as you stared back at her, “what signs?” elena sighed, rubbing her temple, “there are signs, moments. the two of you, sitting on the couch and his hand trails higher. his breath quickens at the sight of you in a dress. the little things.”
“and what happens if you notice these signs, act on them?” and this was exactly her expertise, she wiped her face with her napkin before paying the bill. “if i’m going to explain this in detail then we need to go to my house. or a dirtier part of town. my dear girl, i’m taking you to your first ever bar.”
coriolanus has to hold on to his mask of self-restraint, you’d been spotted at a bar, with one of your friends that he despised. but at least his plan could take full effect without a hitch.
your mind had been blown, irrevocably and utterly blown. the way elena had described it all, she made it sound like heaven. but she did tell you about other men, some care for themselves more so than the girl. and you had no clue what type of man corio was in bed.
you’d been so absorbed in your own thoughts you hadn’t noticed the man following you, not until he attacked you. he’d been going after your bag of course, but it was a gift from coriolanus. the man was unrelenting as he shoved you against the cold wall, grimy hands pushing and pulling with you as you tried to regain hold of your purse. “let go!” you cried out before he slammed you into the wall again, loosing grip on the purse coriolanus had just gifted you.
what would he say? it was his gift to you!
you woke up with a throbbing headache and corios hands brushing away strands from your face. “there you are sweet thing. you feeling okay?” you peered up at him, unable to move due to the millions of blankets on you. noticing your struggle he smiled before shifting them off, “better?” you nodded before sitting up with his help.
“corio, i lost the bag you gave me. the bad guy he- i’m so so sorry. please don’t be mad with me i didn’t mean to-“ he laughed, although it didn’t reach his eyes, “you think i care about the bag y/n/n? i could buy you a million bags, better bags. i’m just glad you’re okay. those guys, they won’t bother you again.” all you could do was sob and hug him, pondering the meaning of his words.
“hey, what the hell man? you said to attack the girl and take the bag!” the man shouted as coriolanus undid his cuffs, adjusted his sleeve, pushing it back on both arms. “i told you to go for the bag, yes. but i specifically remember drilling it into your head not to hurt her. and now she’s lying in bed, has been for the past three house with bruises everywhere. and for that?”
shouts and screams of pain echoed through the abandoned building as coriolanus struck the man with a hammer, over and over and over. the job had one guideline. and this idiot couldn’t get it right.
don’t hurt his delicate girl.
PRESENT
you’d been so absorbed with worrying over the purse and apologising for your tears you hadn’t noticed corios hungry eyes. “i really did like that purse.” he murmured, “oh corio, i should’ve tried harder to keep it. what can i do?” hook, line and sinker. he had you where he wanted and he’d finally get what he deserved.
“let me fuck you. please.” and who were you to say no? your naivety led to him laying you down on the bed, head between your thighs. you’d heard about it from elena, a man pleasuring a woman, but it was a million times better than you could’ve imagined. coriolanus was messy, and desperate. he’d been waiting for so long and god was it worth it.
his heart raced with both excitement and nervousness as he held your thighs in his own hands, tracing up and downwards, feeling the warmth against his own skin. coriolanus couldn't resist the opportunity to tease you. “you wanna cum?” corio mumbled as he continued sucking on your swollen clit, “mhm.” you could hear him laughing at your pathetic excuse of agreeing.
coriolanus wholeheartedly believes you belong to him. the second you were married, and even before, you were his. your submission would prove it, and he would do anything for it. you were his and he was yours. his bold blue eyes ravished you, all of you, “who’s making you feel this good?” your hips squirmed away from him but he just pulled you back, pushing two fingers into you.
corio reveled in your naivety, the way you responded to his touch, the way you whispered dirty words as if it were a sin. and right now, you still couldn’t bring yourself to name what you needed. his pace was brutal as he lapped at your cunt, a third finger curling inside of you as they went in and out. your gasps and cries were music to his ears, he’d been denied this all too long, and he wasn’t sure how he’d ever done it. “cmon, say it.” and you did, over and over again. “it’s you! you, coryo.”
“coryo, ah, your fingers feel so good,” you mewled, tilting your hips more trying to lean into his touch. coryo withdrew his fingers to play with your clit, rubbing circles around your sensitive nub that resulted in you crying out in pleasure.
“such a good girl, getting all wet for me,” you nodded along dumbly, “for you, all you.” you babbled as he kissed you deeply.
coryos hand dragged up and down your folds, “your pussy is soaked, baby. look at that,” you whined at the feeling of him not touching you, your cheeks flushed at the sight of your arousal. coryo pulled his pants down, throwing them away over his shoulder. you hid your head into the pillow as coryo tutted, “you have to look pretty girl, look at the mess you made.” coryo taunted as he rubbed your slick juices all over his dick, trying to humiliate you, get a rise out of you. coryos hand holds onto your neck, tightening as you clutched on with both hands, “please, coryo, i’ll be so good.” he rested his forehead on yours, noses touching.
“i love you, i love you, i love you.” he whispered in your ear, “my beautiful wife, you’d look so good with my baby in you.” the idea of having his baby had you pressing your lips to his as he bit down on your lower lip, making you gasp as your lips part, his tongue pushing inside your mouth, exploring every bit of you he’d ever wished to. his hunger hadn’t fallen, only increased.
“ i need to fuck you,” he panted, you having stolen his breath. coryo teased your folds with the head of his cock, “need to fill up this pretty little pussy of yours,” he pushed into you, warm walls coating his cock as he groaned, “you feel so good.” he moaned into your neck as your hands clutched onto his broad shoulders. he wasn’t sure if he’d last long but then again he didn’t care, it’s not like you knew it was a short time.
the way you clenched down on him was more than enough proof of your virginity. your cries fueled him on as he pinned your hips down into the mattress, rutting against you wildly. “you feel that?” he was everywhere, filling you up. his dick making an appearance through the bulge in your tummy. “uh-huh. too much i can’t-” he stopped you before you could finish by pressing down on it with his palm, “yes you can baby.” you shook your head, “coryo i can’t, you feel too good.” you begin, crying from how good he was making you feel, from how dumb and desperate he was making you.
“m’ gonna fill you up, gonna give you my baby.” he was driving you crazy, his heavy panting, hands on either side of your head, his voice was deep and filled with fire. “yes, yes please inside me.” coryo’s eyes squeezed shut and his brow furrowed you were too much, fuelled on by the idea of a pregnant wife, pregnant you. swollen belly, heavy breasts, relying on him to help you out of bed. his hips stuttered and faltered as he came inside you with a low groan. he didn’t care about pulling out and neither did you as your release came down on you again. “feels so good coryo, thank you.”
he couldn’t help his smile as you continued to thank him for making you feel so good. his ego was sure as hell swelling as he pulled out of you, collapsing on the bed. his hand caressed your face, kissing you all over, praising you.
“you did so well f’me. proud of you baby.” you grinned up at him as you snuggled into his neck. “only for you coryo.” all for him. “i’ll clean you up okay?” you nodded along as he got out of bed.
coriolanus deemed the night a success, but for some reason he didn’t feel complete. he wanted more. but as he looked up at your sleepy eyes and tired out body he wanted to let you rest. but the idea seemed to slip out of his head once he was levelled with your core again, his release spilling out of you and the warm towel forgotten. he didn’t stop himself when he began to lick at you, his tongue working his way into your entrance as your head shoved at his face.
“coryo, i’m sensitive. coryo please stop.” you attempted to crawl away but his hands dragged you to the edge of the bed, legs around his head. your body fell limp against the sheets as pleasure took over. your hands laced with his hair as you cried out.
it was going to be a long night.

Your apartment had devolved into utter chaos the last two days. It seemed like every time you rounded a corner, you had to dodge some person or scrap of metal or power tool, and it was getting on your last nerve. New York wasn't exactly known for spacious living arrangements as it was, so to have what little space you did covet overrun with your brother's shit really sent you into overdrive.
"Lizard's mom has a house in Queens, why the hell is all this shit here and not in her basement?" you snapped at Danny early one morning after you stubbed your toe on a drill.
"He's worried about her finding out what we're up to," Danny explained, and you immediately scoffed into your coffee.
"She's deaf in one ear and hasn't stepped foot in her basement since his dad died."
Danny agreed to move his time traveling project to Queens later that day.
The scowl on your face smoothed out the moment Marcus entered your kitchen, rubbing sleep from his eyes and looking absolutely devastating in the pajama pants you had bought for him just a few days prior. It took all your willpower not to let your eyes drop below his waist, having already made that mistake the day before. The noticeable bulge hidden amongst the thin sleepwear had you spacing out the entire train ride to work and you couldn't afford any distractions that day. You had a big meeting at eleven where you had to present the next topic for your column and you were scrambling. The source you had for your long-distance relationship idea fell through last minute, so now you were tasked with brainstorming a spectacular backup plan in the next four hours.
"Morning, General. How did you sleep?" Danny asked as he scooped cereal into his mouth.
"Quite well, thank you," he replied, then his eyes met yours and he smiled. "Good morning, my lady."
You grinned like a school girl, your heart fluttering excitedly in your chest when you stammered, "G-good morning." Danny rolled his eyes but chose wisely to keep his mouth shut.
Marcus was able to find his way around by that point, however he still seemed hesitant to just start opening your drawers and cupboards when he needed something. Tired of reminding him to just help himself, you set down your coffee and picked up your loaf of bread from the corner of the counter.
"Same as yesterday?" you asked him as you popped two slices of bread in the toaster, anticipating his answer.
"Please," he said with a grateful nod, then dutifully clasped his hands at his waist.
When Danny watched you crack some eggs into a frying pan along with a few sausage links, his jaw dropped.
"You're making breakfast for him but not for me?" he whined.
You swiveled around and pointed your spatula in his face. "He is our guest, thanks to you," you reminded him, and Danny quickly shut up.
"I do not wish to be a burden," Marcus said. He hadn't moved but his broad frame felt like it took up the entire room.
"You're not a burden, Marcus," you told him softly, then gave him a small, reassuring smile.
"Yeah, no worries, man," Danny said, clapping him firmly on the shoulder before dumping his dirty dishes in the sink. "I'm just giving my sister a hard time because it's obvious she wants to jump your bones."
"Danny!" you shrieked while throwing an oven mitt at his head. He dodged it and ducked out of the kitchen, his laughter fading down the hall towards his bedroom.
Your cheeks felt like they were on fire as you turned your focus back to the frying pan. When Marcus cleared his throat, you closed your eyes in dread because you knew what was coming.
"What did that mean, jump your bones?"
"Nothing, just ignore him," you said, sliding the eggs and sausage onto a plate. A few seconds passed when Danny's voice shouted down the hall, "It's a euphemism for sex!"
"Goddamnit," you muttered through clenched teeth. You began to storm out of the kitchen, prepared to kick Danny's ass, but Marcus shot an arm out to stop you.
"You look lovely today."
You gazed up at him, mouth agape, while you tried to find your voice.
Say something. Anything.
"Thanks. Uh, thank you," you mumbled, smoothing down the pink and white floral dress you picked out. On days where you had your big monthly meeting, you tried to make an effort to look like you belonged at a fashion magazine.
"Do you have plans today?" he asked, his eyes swooping down your frame appreciatively, and for once it didn't make your stomach turn when a man looked at you that way. "Daniel tells me there is a beautiful park in the city. I desire to see it and would very much enjoy your company."
You knew you were reading too much into it, but you couldn't help but feel like he was asking you on a date.
"Oh, I'm sorry, Marcus," you said, "I have to work today. But I promise we will see it before you go home."
Home.
His face fell at the word and he quickly dropped his gaze to the floor, trying to hide his disappointment.
"Of course, I understand. Thank you for breakfast," he said, sliding past you so he could pick up the plate you made for him. You chewed your lip and glanced at the time. If it were any other day, you would just call in sick, but today was too important to miss.
"I promise, okay?" you told him as you gathered your bags. "We will see Central Park before you leave. And whatever else you want."
He nodded and took a bite of his food. Although he appeared to be unbothered, you still felt an enormous amount of guilt.
"Danny!" you called from the front door, "this shit better be gone by the time I get home!"
"Yes, Mom!" he shouted back sarcastically from the bathroom. You rolled your eyes and gave Marcus a quick wave before hurrying out the door.
Tumblr media
You were fucked.
You had one hour until your meeting and you had absolutely nothing.
Already, you had done your usual brainstorming techniques five times over. You scrolled through social media, hoping to find some trend or topic that might be popular and garner attention, but you were coming up dry, so you kept circling back to your long distance relationship idea. You had sent out every feeler you could think of, asking any of your usual contacts if they had anyone you could use for a story about your chosen topic, but so far you weren't having any luck.
Suddenly, your phone rang and you lunged for it, hoping it was a lead, then groaned when you saw Danny's contact picture pop up on the screen.
"Hello?"
"Hey..." he began, and you could tell by the tone in his voice that you should brace yourself.
"What did you do?"
He laughed on the other end. "I didn't do anything. Actually, I did do something - I am getting all this stuff out of your place, but there's just one thing."
"Spit it out," you said, your eyes flickering to the time. 45 minutes to go.
"I can't take Marcus with us to Queens. There's no room in Lizard's car."
"So let him stay in the apartment."
"I'm not leaving him all alone in New York City!" he protested. You heard some familiar sounds in the background of the call and you frowned.
"Where are you?"
Danny paused and you instantly began to put your defenses up.
"I'm... in your lobby. With Marcus and Lizard."
"You're what?!" you exclaimed in a loud whisper, glancing around to make sure nobody overheard you in your cubical.
"I told to him to just stay in the lobby and read your crappy magazines and if anyone asks, to tell them he's here for meeting."
"Danny! You can't do this, I can't babysit a fucking Roman General right now!"
You heard Danny walk a few paces away, presumably to get some privacy so Marcus wouldn't overhear, before he answered.
"He'll stay downstairs, I promise. I told him what floor you're on in case of an emergency but maybe you can pop down and take him for lunch. You've been making heart eyes at this Roman General for the past three days, don't try and lie."
Anger coursed through your veins but you were running out of precious time, so you gave up.
"Fine," you seethed.
"Great!" Danny said cheerily. "But I might not be back til late. We're burning tons of time moving all this stuff, we got work to do."
"So I have to bring him home?"
"Yes, you'll have to bring him home. You're going there anyway, aren't you? What's the big deal?"
"The big deal is he's going to be bored and lonely all day down there!" you snapped.
"He's not going to be bored. He's in New York City. The elevators alone are blowing his mind right now."
Despite yourself, you smiled when you remembered how in awe he was the first time he rode in an elevator.
"Tell him I'll be down to take him to lunch in like, a little over an hour. I have a meeting at eleven."
"You're the best!" Danny said, then before you could respond, the line went dead.
You grumbled obscenities under your breath when you heard a familiar voice say your name from the opening of your cube.
"Hey, ready for the meeting?" Matt asked. You practically dropped your phone from his sudden appearance and he chuckled. "Did I scare you?"
"Yes," you hissed as you began to gather your things, trying to hide your annoyance. You looked over the top of your cubical wall, hoping and praying you would see someone - anyone - else to walk with to the conference room, but you were shit out of luck.
"Doing anything fun tonight?" he inevitably asked, like he always did, and you sighed. You made the mistake of hooking up with him after one particularly rowdy work happy hour and ever since then, Matt's been waiting for his next opportunity. "I know a guy who works at that new French restaurant, I can get us a reservation and then, who knows..."
"I have a friend in from out of town," was all you said. No matter how many times you turned him down, he remained persistent.
"That's cool. Girls night, then?"
"My friend's a guy," you quickly corrected him.
Matt stumbled over his feet as you reached the conference room. It was the biggest one on your floor, directly across from the elevator banks. The entire wall was made of glass, floor to ceiling, so you could see through the room to the opposite wall, where there was a fantastic view of the city.
"Oh, like a cousin, or..."
"Nope," you replied, voice clipped so he knew the topic was closed. With a frustrated huff, Matt plopped down next to you and flipped open his portfolio. You gave him a sideways glance, momentarily feeling bad for him. He was by all accounts a good looking guy. He wrote a column for the men's health section and based on his physique, you assumed he practiced what he preached, but sadly his looks is where his good qualities came to an end.
Charlotte, your editor, breezed into the room, her presence enough to make everyone sitting at the long table quiet right down. She ghosted her palm over her perfectly coiffed grey hair and sat her portfolio down in front of her chair at the head of the table. As you got yourself organized, your mind scrambling to come up with a lie about a long distance relationship source, Charlotte placed her phone down delicately next to her leather portfolio, then slowly uncapped the expensive looking pen someone once told you was gifted to her by Marc Jacobs. Everybody watched and waited until she was ready, which was signified by a dainty clearing of her throat and a quick, sweeping glance over the table followed by a curt nod. At that point, the usual routine began.
Without having to be asked, one by one everybody took their turn presenting their idea for the month. Each person's name was listed on the agenda in the order Charlotte wished, and mercifully yours was dead last.
Your anxiety began to spike when Sara, the girl who was before you in nutrition started to wrap up her brief speech about some gluten free lifestyle benefit bullshit.
Keep it short. Keep it vague, and you'll figure it out later. Everyone wants to leave, it's almost lunch.
Then some movement by the elevators caught your eye. Your breathing ceased and you broke out into a cold sweat when you saw Marcus had stepped out of the elevator and was fucking talking to the receptionist. Then you locked eyes when they both turned to look towards the conference room.
"Shit," you whispered.
Matt nudged your ribs and you startled, glancing around the room to see Sara had sat down and half the table was staring at you, waiting for you to begin. You shakily stood up and swallowed the lump in your throat when Marcus began to weave his way towards you through the maze of cubicles.
Call it a stroke of genius or divine inspiration, but an incredible idea hit you right as you opened your mouth to speak. You had about half a second to decide if you should wing it and trust your gut or talk out of your ass about your first idea.
Fuck it.
"This month, I have a very interesting idea that I'm super excited about exploring," you began, watching when Marcus came to a stop outside the glass door. He looked back and forth, his fingers twitching at his sides. "My topic will be Romance without Technology," you announced with a confident smile. "I'll be researching how adults navigate their love lives without the help of dating apps, social media, or even texting," you said, listing each item on your finger as you spoke.
"Who's that guy?" Sara asked, pointing towards the door. It was at that point you realized most of the table was gawking at the tall, broad, handsome looking Roman General waiting to get your attention.
You smiled and walked toward the door with your arm outstretched.
"This is Marcus," you said, holding the door open and ushering him inside. He murmured your name but you cut him off. "He's the subject I'll be interviewing for this month's article. He doesn't use technology of any kind. In fact, he doesn't even own a cell phone."
The entire room gasped and Marcus looked around, confused, but understood what you needed him to do. He raised one arm up to greet the room and said, "Good morning."
Most of the women began to whisper excitedly to one another, shooting him looks and giggling behind their hands until Charlotte cleared her throat and once again, the room fell into silence.
You chewed your lower lip anxiously as you waited for Charlotte to silently appraise you both. Finally, you saw the corner of her mouth twitch and she gave you a barely perceptible nod.
"I look forward to reading it."
She stood abruptly and collected her things, signifying the end of the meeting, and relief flooded your veins.
"Are you okay?" you asked Marcus, pulling him to the side while the room stood and slowly filtered out. He nodded.
"Yes. There were many vehicles that passed by with bright lights and loud sirens. When I asked what it was for, I was told there was an emergency."
You giggled and shook your head. "So the fearsome General was scared?"
His brows knitted together for a moment before he answered.
"No. I grew concerned for your well being."
Your heart could have melted on the spot.
"Oh," you said softly, and just like that, the annoying little flutter in your chest was back. "I-I'm fine, but thank you. That was... that's really sweet, actually."
He grinned as his eyes swooped down your frame, causing butterflies to awaken in your stomach.
"Did you wanna get something to eat?" you asked as you stared up at him, his large frame making you feel so tiny in comparison. "It'll be on the company's dime since I kinda just signed you up to be the subject of my next article."
He cocked an eyebrow at you and shoved his hands into the pockets of his khakis, the action bringing up the memory of you measuring his inseam and you felt your face begin to heat up. God, you must have looked ridiculous, standing there in front of Marcus in the middle of your office, looking up at him with big doe eyes.
"Of course," he replied, "but what do you intend to write about me?"
You grinned and hurried back to your abandoned chair, scooping up your things before pointing to the door.
"Let me drop this stuff off at my desk and I'll explain everything."
Tumblr media
"My marriage was arranged," he reminded you from across the table draped in white linen. You decided to take him to a nicer steakhouse not too far from your office, one that didn't enforce a dress code but still had good food that you rarely sprung for out of your own pocket.
"I know, but I'm sure you can still give me an idea of what romance was like," you replied. "For example, did you get her any gifts? Give flowers? Take her to places that were meaningful to you? Or to her?"
Marcus dropped his gaze to the table and shrugged. "We knew each other for such a short period of time, there was unfortunately not much in the way of romance."
You clocked the forlorn look in his eye and began to feel guilty for bringing it up. "I'm sorry. I'll just make something up, don't worry about it. No one'll know."
"No, no, I wish to help," he said quickly, his hand stretching across the table to loop two of his fingers around yours. "Just because I do not have many personal stories to share does not mean I cannot help with your research."
"I don't want to reopen any old wounds," you explained, your eyes fixed on the way his hand linked with yours so naturally on the tabletop.
He chuckled softly, his smile causing his deep brown eyes to sparkle and a dimple to appear on his cheek.
"It was a very long time ago."
When your salads arrived at your table, Marcus released your hand to pick up his fork, frowning down at the bowl before asking, "This is the salad named after Julius Caesar?"
You giggled and shook your head, the sound causing him to lift his chin with a warm smile.
"No," you said once you collected yourself, "No, it's named after another Caesar. The guy who created it, I think."
Marcus didn't seem to mind he was wrong or that you found his error so funny. In fact, he enjoyed it.
"You have a beautiful laugh."
Instantly, your cheeks flushed and you shyly looked down to focus on your salad. "Thank you," you said softly.
He watched you silently for another minute more, admiring the way your eyes fluttered shut when you tasted something good or tucked a stray piece of hair behind your ear, then took a hesitant bite of his salad.
He raised his eyebrows in surprise and you grinned from behind your napkin.
"Delicious."
You giggled again and nodded. "Yes, it is."
Once your salads were taken away and before your main course arrived, you pulled out a notebook and flipped to a blank page.
"Let's start from the beginning. You don't have to go into excruciating detail. Maybe just some things you know of that others did to... court women? Is that even the right word?" you mumbled the last part to yourself as you scribbled something at the top of your paper.
"It was seen as a sign of weakness for a man to become infatuated with a woman," he said, and you looked up at him in surprise.
"Why's that?"
"Marriages rarely were based on affection. They were viewed as a way to improve your social standing, but it was mutually beneficial," he explained, his finger tracing the design engrained in his fork. "Women were taken care of, looked after and tended to while the men were able to claim a high ranking senator or nobleman as their family. And, of course..." he trailed off, his cheeks staining pink when he dropped his gaze to the table and said, "received the traditional benefits of having a wife."
You smirked to yourself as you wrote notes on your pad of paper.
"Thought you were used to talking about sex openly," you teased. He cleared his throat and your pen paused over your paper to meet his eye.
"I admit, at times I feel nervous around you."
"Me?" you balked, but he just nodded and your brain scrambled for something to say that wouldn't entirely embarrass you. You landed on deflection.
"I thought it was a sign of weakness to grow infatuated?"
He grinned and leaned back in his chair. "I never said I agreed with that line of thought."
"No, I suppose you didn't," you said, shyly dropping your eyes to your paper. His gaze was too intense. Every time you looked at him it felt like he could see right through you. "So, tell me. Hypothetically. If we lived in Rome and I caught your eye, what would you do? How would you win me over?"
Marcus took a deep breath, his broad shoulders relaxing as he thought about your question for a moment, staring at your pen hovering over your paper.
"I would write you letters every day," he said softly, forcing your eyes back onto him. His voice was low and deep, smooth yet firm as he spoke. "I would write of your beauty. I would compare the color of your eyes to the flowers and fauna that grew in my garden, delicate and all encompassing. I would tell you how food tastes better on my tongue when you are around, and how I ache for you when you are not near. I would try to explain how difficult it is to breathe without you, and how I would gladly die a thousand deaths just to feel the softness of your lips against mine."
You stared at him, hand frozen where you left it resting on your notebook. He waited patiently until you finally blinked yourself out of your stupor and inhaled a shaky breath.
"Uh, s-so love letters, then," you stammered, shakily scribbling down something incoherent on your paper. Jesus fucking Christ, get it together.
"Yes. Love letters," he repeated. He sounded so cool and collected. How was he so relaxed? A moment ago, he was admitting you made him nervous. Maybe he was just better at hiding it than you.
Your server arrived and placed your food down in front of you, the heavenly scent wafting up and making your mouth water. Placing your pen down in favor of picking up your fork and knife, you asked, "Have you ever had steak?"
"I am not sure. What animal is it?" he asked, picking up his fork and testing the tenderness of his steak by giving it a little poke.
"It's cow. Try it, it's good."
"Cows were used for farming," he said before slicing a piece off and examining it closely. "We could not afford to slaughter them."
You watched as he popped a bite into his mouth and chewed thoughtfully before giving you a smile and nod.
"Good?" you asked, your heart skipping a beat at finding another food he liked.
"Very," he replied once he swallowed. "You are quite perceptive and have good taste."
"Thank you," you answered, taking another bite and trying not to preen too much from the praise.
"So tell me," he said after he finished up his filet and moved on to his potato, which he eyed wearily. "Do you not receive love letters as a form of courtship?"
"Uh, no," you replied with a laugh. "Closest thing to that nowadays would be a text and even those are... sub par."
"So what is it that you do?"
"What do you mean?"
He pointed to your notepad with his fork. "For romance. What activities do you take part in?"
"Oh," you said, wiping your mouth and pushing your empty plate to the side. "You mean dates. Uh, this actually. Get dinner together. Sometimes see a movie," you paused and rethought your word choice when you saw his face. "A show, or a play. Um, sometimes go to a bar. Stuff like that."
He nodded and let your answer roll around in his head for a moment before asking, "So, is this a date?"
Marcus smiled when he saw you become flustered. You thanked the server for clearing your plates and leaving the bill before responding.
"Uh, I don't know," you finally said shyly, making his smile grow even wider. "Do you want - I mean, well... I'm technically working, but, you know, if - if that was something you were interested in, then, I guess w-we could classify this, or, you know, it could be construed-"
"Yes or no," he said, interrupting your insane ramblings with a soft look and an outstretched hand. Your face was hot with embarrassment but you reached out for his hand, anyway.
"Yes."
"Yes," he repeated, squeezing your fingers. You grinned and nodded, your stomach doing cartwheels as you tried to steady your breath.
Once you paid with your corporate credit card, you walked back out to the street, Marcus holding the doors open for you before offering you his hand. You sheepishly accepted it and walked a few paces in the direction of your office before he stopped you.
"Must you return to work?"
You gave him a sad smile and took a step closer. "Yeah, I'm sorry. But maybe I can play hooky tomorrow."
Marcus raised a curious eyebrow at you while playing with the material of your dress with his free hand, gently pinching and feeling the fabric between his fingers. "What does-"
"It means I'll call in sick without actually being sick so I can have the day off," you explained without him needing to finish asking.
He grinned and dropped your dress in favor of cupping your cheek. "I would like that very much."
"Me, too," you said, gazing up at him while leaning into his touch. His strong, calloused hand felt rough against your skin, but you liked it. As if reading your mind, he stroked his thumb over your cheekbone and murmured, "You are so soft."
You hummed, not trusting yourself to speak when you watched him slowly lean down to your level, your eyes fluttering shut as you waited to feel his mouth against yours. But just when his shadow got close enough to block the sun behind your eyelids, you heard someone shout your name.
You swiveled around angrily, your hand still laced together with Marcus's as you looked for the person who interrupted one of the more romantic moments of your life.
And then you saw Matt stalking up to you from the direction of the restaurant.
"Is this why you've been ghosting me?"
You frowned and tilted your head. "What?"
Matt came to a stop in front of you both and jutted his chin towards Marcus. "Too busy sleeping with your profiles to hang out?"
"W-what?" you stammered again, too shocked to fight back with your usual vigor. You felt Marcus stiffen next to you. He wasn't sure what was going on, but he immediately sensed your discomfort. "I'm not - this isn't-"
"Oh, sure," he sneered, crossing his arms, his biceps bulging out of his thin dress shirt. "I saw you two in there. You were three seconds away from crawling into his lap."
Your mouth hung open in shock and humiliation. "Were you following me?"
Before Matt could answer, Marcus took a step forward.
"I am going to have to insist you stop yelling," he seethed, and even though Matt followed his own advice in his articles and worked out plenty, Marcus still towered over him.
Matt's eyes went wide for just a moment before his bravado returned. "C'mon, man. She's just using you, don't you see that?" Matt prodded, then he scoffed. "Unless you're good with it. Then by all means, have fun. She's a good fuck but I don't think she's got much else."
It all happened so fast, you couldn't remember Marcus dropping your hand and cocking his fist. You couldn't remember the first sickening crunch of his knuckles against Matt's nose, but you did remember hearing his pained howl.
Marcus only landed a few more blows before you came to your senses and tugged him by the shoulder. It was laughable to think you would be strong enough to move him, but you must have also said something because Marcus immediately stopped and turned back to you.
"Jesus Christ!" you cried shakily, hands trembling as they hovered in the air. You weren't sure what to do and people were staring as they walked by, driving up your anxiety. Marcus was fine except for his skinned knuckles, but Matt was much worse. He had a busted lip and already a bright blue shiner forming on his cheekbone, and when he stood to face you both, you noticed another cut on the other cheek.
"The fuck is wrong with you!" he spat, blood dripping down his chin.
"Mind how you speak to women and perhaps they will wish to spare you their time," Marcus snarled. Matt turned his attention to you, the pad of his thumb swiping against his lower lip.
"Who is this guy? What the fuck is his deal?"
You took a deep breath, your mind settling and your fortitude returning.
"If you had just backed off when I said no the first dozen times, maybe you didn't have to find out!"
"Oh, come off it. You like the chase. You get off on guys trailing after you-"
"You're the only fucking one, Matt!" you yelled, no longer caring who was looking. "We hooked up once, years ago, and you just can't take the hint! I'm not interested!"
His eyes clouded with disbelief as he propped his hands on his hips and shifted his weight to one foot, standing there as if he were somehow new to being shot down.
"I'm telling Charlotte about this. About your little..." he trailed off and gestured vaguely over your shoulder, "guard dog. I'm sure she will love to hear about one of your profiles assaulting an employee."
You crossed your arms defiantly and made a face. "Oh, yeah? Do that and I'll recommend to HR they give you a drug test."
His face paled for a moment but he tried to hide it. "Drugs? I'm not on drugs."
"Oh, so you're telling me your balls are just naturally that shriveled up and small? Because, shit," you laughed, "if it's not steroids, you might want to see a doctor about that. That's not normal."
Matt swallowed tightly and clamped his mouth shut. You smiled and turned around to Marcus, who had been listening to your entire argument and probably understanding less than half of it.
"Let's go."
You tugged on his arm and he obediently followed, leaving Matt to lick his wounds.
"Your work - the building is the other way."
"I know," you said, raising your arm to hail a cab. "I'll figure something out. We're going home."

Marcus watched as you paced around your kitchen, phone pressed against your ear as you spoke to your boss and faked a sudden illness that included the word cramps. When you finished up, you looked over at him from across the room.
He looked so normal now. Sure, he spoke a little strangely but without his tunic, clad in khakis and a polo shirt, he looked like he fit right in. Like he always belonged right there.
"I don't think I even thanked you," you said. Marcus smiled and shrugged.
"No need."
He was so damn adorable, it was killing you. "I've never met anyone like you before," you confessed, leaning a hip against the edge of your counter.
"In a good way, I hope?" he asked, raising his eyebrows. You giggled and nodded, the sound making his heart soar.
"Yes, in a good way."
He brought his hand up to smooth over his mouth nervously and your stomach dropped.
"Oh, my god! Your hands!" you exclaimed, crossing the room to snatch one of his massive hands within both of yours.
"It is alright, there is no-"
"Come on, let me clean up your knuckles at least," you said, pulling him towards your tiny bathroom, which somehow felt even smaller when you were both crowding the space. "Sit here," you told him, pointing towards the closed toilet seat, "I have some stuff somewhere," you muttered under your breath as you rifled through the medicine cabinet behind your mirror, then tugged open the drawer in the vanity that always stuck. Marcus did as he was told and watched you with amusement dancing in his eyes.
"Ah ha!" you announced victoriously when you held up a bottle of clear liquid and a box of bandages. He smiled as you washed your hands before meticulously laying everything out you would need. Picking up a cotton ball, you doused it with the liquid and turned to him, having little choice but to stand between his knees and lifting one of his hands to look at it closer.
He splayed his hand out flat, palm pressing against your palm while you carefully dabbed at the dried blood.
"You have laid with that man before?" he asked out of the blue. Your cheeks felt warm when you nodded and avoided his eye.
"A long time ago. It was a mistake."
He didn't say anything else for a few minutes, just watched as you tenderly cared for his broken skin, your proximity and touch overwhelming his senses.
"Did he mistreat you?"
Quickly, you shook your head. "Oh god, no, nothing like that," you told him. "It just... wasn't a good fit."
Marcus couldn't stop staring at the soft slopes of your face and the bright sparkle in your irises, growing infatuated with the way your brow scrunched together in concentration while you worked.
"Did he not worship you?" he asked softly, watching as your breath hitched and you swallowed the lump in your throat.
"Uh, no," you finally said, setting down the cotton ball in favor of a tube with some salve. You squeezed a small dot onto your finger and began to apply it carefully to his knuckles. "Can't say there's been a lot of worshipping happening in my life," you added with a dry chuckle.
"No?"
You shook your head and wiped your finger with a tissue and tried not to let his injured hand that had fallen to your hip distract you.
"No," you whispered, your shaky voice betraying you.
He tsked and brought his other hand up to your hip, slowly splaying his fingers wide and crumpling the fabric of your dress. "Shameful. You deserve to be worshipped."
All of the air rushed from your lungs, your body thrumming with desire. Marcus noticed the fine hairs on your arms raise when goosebumps flashed across your skin and he delicately picked up your hand, flipping it over so he could press a kiss against the inside of your wrist.
His deep brown eyes met yours and with his lips still brushing against your skin, whispered, "Will you allow me to worship you?"
You found yourself nodding before your voice had a chance to catch up with you, then his hands gently cupped your face and pulled you down to his level. The moment your lips finally met, you forgot how to breathe, how to move, how to think. His lips were so unexpectedly soft and tender as they slowly massaged against your own that it sent you into a tailspin.
You pressed your mouth against his with a little more force, the fear that he may just stop at one kiss gripping your throat and driving you forward. He made a soft, surprised noise in the back of his throat when you began to kiss him with more intensity, but he didn't skip a beat. He tightened his hold on your face, fingers dimpling your cheeks and his nose bumping lightly against yours.
Your hands pressed against his chest, then your fingers curled to grip his shirt, wanting to tug him closer, wanting to feel him everywhere but you were still in your stupid fucking tiny bathroom and it was difficult to maneuver. Seemingly anticipating your next move, you felt Marcus stand. Your head tipped back, neck craned upwards at an impossible angle, refusing to break the kiss even for a moment so he began to carefully walk you backwards towards the door. Every step towards your bedroom felt like you were walking deeper and deeper into the sea, drowning in his overwhelming presence and touch.
Marcus's palm slid over your shoulder, down your arm and only stopping when he found your ribs. He wound his arm around you as you both stumbled through your doorway with as little grace as you would expect from two people growing more and more intertwined by the moment.
Once you felt your mattress pressing into the backs of your knees, you released your death grip on his shirt so you could reach behind you and unzip your dress. The cool air washed over your bare skin when it pooled around your feet and suddenly, you felt extremely exposed. What kinds of women was he used to being with? It felt like every day when you went into work you learned something new that men found desirable in women. How could you possibly be expected to keep up in the modern world, let alone with what Marcus might find appealing?
But when his palm reconnected with your middle and he felt your smooth skin under his hand, he grew desperate for more to the point where you could sense it, pushing your insecurities to the back of your mind. His injured hand left your cheek so he could glide both massive hands over the soft swell of your curves, his fingers twitching as he sought out more of your skin but when he came in contact with your bra, his hands stopped.
You could feel his hesitation by the way his lips stalled against yours so you took his hands and wrapped them around your back, wordlessly guiding him to the clasp as your tongue slid inside his mouth.
He figured out the hooks on your bra after only one or two fumbles and it dropped to the floor to join your dress.
"Fuck," he whispered when he finally managed to pull away to admire your nearly naked body. Your eyes widened with surprise.
"I don't think I've heard you curse before."
He inhaled a ragged breath, his eyes still drinking you in when he murmured, "I did not have a reason to before now."
He gently grazed over your breast, barely even touching you while he watched with fascination as your nipple tightened from the brief contact. "You have stirred something within me," he said softly, his eyes and hands continuing to roam. "Something I believed did not exist for a long time."
You leaned into his touch when he cupped your breast, enraptured with how soft you felt under his hand. Your fingers curled around the waistband of his khakis, sliding your nails across his lower stomach, across the coarse hair you very much wished to see while his mouth descended on your throat. His beard tickled the spot below your ear and it sent a shudder down your spine. His lips curved into a smile against your skin at the involuntary movement and he asked, "What else do you like?"
It was becoming difficult to breathe. The way he was so slow and careful yet sure of himself was unlike anything you had ever experienced before with a man. It was making your knees weak and your head swim.
When it took too long for you to answer his question, he lightly pinched your skin between your teeth, causing warmth to bloom just underneath the mark.
"T-touch me," you stammered, your eyes sliding closed and your head tipping back, surrendering yourself completely to his prowess.
His hand slipped down your body, over your stomach and underneath your panties. You gasped sharply when you felt one thick finger part your folds, sliding over your clit and dipping into your entrance, drenching him with your arousal.
"Lay down for me," he whispered in your ear while wrapping his free arm around your back, holding you steady so you didn't collapse from the torture of his singular finger working in and out.
He laid you down carefully in your bed, his hand never losing its rhythm and his mouth still ghosting over your neck and chest.
You whined and bucked your hips under him, fingers getting tangled in his thick curls while he whispered words of adoration into your skin, imprinting himself on you forever.
He could feel you growing rigid, your muscles tense and your exhale coming in short bursts. He brushed his lips over yours at the same time his thumb grazed over your clit, making your jaw drop and a sob erupt from your throat.
"Relax," he murmured, increasing the speed of his wrist while slowly sliding his tongue alongside yours. "Relax and let go for me, cor mea," he said against your mouth.
Your body convulsed beneath him when he brought you to your climax with just one finger. His mouth locked over yours, swallowing down your cries and allowing them to feed his ever growing desire. When you whimpered and lightly pushed his hand away, he withdrew from between your legs but continued to deepen the kiss. It was so sweet and loving that it sent you reeling, wondering how you would ever find satisfaction from another man again after Marcus.
"Take these off," you breathed, tugging on his belt loops. He reared back to sit on his heels while deftly undoing the button and zipper of his khakis, leaving them gaping open at his waist before yanking his polo shirt over his head and tossing it onto the floor. You bit your lip, admiring his bare chest for the first time while he pushed his pants down and kicked them off.
"Christ," you muttered, eyes trailing over his tanned and scarred skin. You reached out and traced a particularly jagged one on his shoulder but he was more focused on ridding you of your underwear. If you ever questioned the validity of his time traveling story, any doubt was erased from your mind when you saw his body.
"Did these hurt?"
He paused and followed your gaze to his marked up torso.
"Some, at the time, yes."
Your expression softened to one of pity as you continued to scan his body, losing count of the shiny, pale scars.
"W-what... how did these..." you trailed off, unable to keep the emotion from your voice. Marcus cupped your cheek and pressed a kiss against your lips.
"It is alright. I have been in many battles. It is my job, and just like yours, I must do it."
You laughed but you didn't really find it funny. "You risk your life every day while I write about best places to take a first date or what to do if you're faking orgasms with your boyfriend. You can't compare the two."
Marcus cocked an eyebrow as he hovered above you. "And do you have much experience faking orgasms?"
You felt your face flush. You knew he was just trying to distract you, but it was working. "Some."
He leaned down and kissed the tip of your nose, then each one of your eyelids before asking, "But not a moment ago?"
You shook your head and raked your fingers through his hair, making him growl at the sensation of your nails across his scalp. While he focused on positioning himself at your opening, you dragged your mouth over his shoulder, tongue dipping to trace over his scar. You couldn't do anything about them now except show them love, something you were realizing Marcus was desperately lacking in his life back home.
Home. The thought entered your brain right when he first pushed inside you, stealing the air from your lungs and bringing tears to your eyes. You did your best to brush it aside and focus on the present, like the way he stretched you open or the soft noise he made when he fully sheathed his heavy length deep within you.
"Fuck," you gasped, clawing at his shoulders while you tried to get your bearings.
He released a groan so guttural and deep it had you squeezing around him. Your mouth found a home on his neck as he slowly began to rock his hips, your lips and teeth leaving temporary marks over his skin to join the scars. Every kiss was slow, every touch was attentive and it was hard to stop yourself from giving into him.
"You - oh," he moaned, eyes sliding shut as he lost himself in the moment. It might have been the first time you'd seen him ever falter, and the thought sent a fresh wave of arousal through you. "You are so soft and beautiful," he mumbled before finding your mouth once again and plunging his tongue past your teeth. "I fear it is almost too much for me to bear," he confessed between kisses.
Marcus was unlike any man you had ever met in so many ways. His vulnerability staggered you. Most men you had known would consider it weak or embarrassing to speak the way he spoke, but Marcus managed to do it without sacrificing an ounce of his raw masculinity.
His broad shoulders and thick arms caged you in, giving you a feeling of safety and security you never felt before with another person. It was always you who had to be strong, who had to figure everything out and be responsible. And for once, with Marcus, it felt like you could let go and not have to worry.
Your body relaxed beneath him, legs spreading even wider to accommodate his powerful thrusts. He pulled an arm out from underneath you to press down on your thigh, pushing it into the mattress next to you in order to open your hips up even more. Then he leaned up just a fraction so he could grind his hips against you with his new found space, drawing a shaky moan from your throat when he came in contact with your clit.
Marcus paid attention. He took note of what you liked, what made you writhe and gasp and he teased you with it until you were begging him for more. He couldn't deny you, so he gave you what you asked. When you whined for him to go faster, he did. When you begged him to touch you, he did. He gave you everything you asked for until your legs trembled and your breath quickened and you were tossing your head back into your pillow, his name on your lips as you fell apart for him.
Then you gazed up at him, eyes smoldering, your lips swollen and parted and looking more beautiful and satisfied than he ever could imagine. Pulling him down to you by the back of his neck, you whispered his name in his ear and he shuddered, his hips faltering for a moment all because of one simple word from your lips.
"Marcus," you whispered again, mouth sucking a bruise into his neck. "Are you going to come for me?"
"Yes," he groaned, his eyes fluttering shut as he neared his peak. A lazy smile spread across your face, body still flooding with pleasure as he fucked you a little harder seeking his own.
His hand fell to your side, pulling you closer, rolling your hips in rhythm with his, and with his teeth bared and eyes flashing with hunger, he came with a broken groan that sent a shiver down your spine. You gasped at the feeling of him emptying himself inside you, eyes squeezing shut in ecstasy. His mouth crashed over yours with your eyes still closed. Your tongues danced together, first with lust, then once your heart rates slowed and your skin stopped tingling, with something more. Something like longing and desperation to hold onto the moment as long as you possibly could.
You both spent a little too long sharing tender kisses and gentle touches. For once, the world around you ceased to make noise and the only thing that mattered was what to order for dinner so you didn't have to leave your bed the rest of the night. You picked Mediterranean food and spent the hour after it was delivered discussing how it compared to the food he was used to, neither of you daring to mention the elephant in the room.
You curled up into his side, his arm draped around you, his back leaning against your headboard as you watched a romantic comedy together. Just as you were explaining the plot and how you had used the movie as inspiration for an article the year prior, a breakthrough was happening in Queens.
The volume on your phone was off and neither of you were paying attention to it lighting up on your nightstand, too busy ignoring the movie in favor of fusing your lips together again with your limbs slowly tangling together under the covers to notice the text come through.
Danny: staying in Queens for the night, we're on a roll. The mighty General shall be out of your hair b4 you know it.

I curled up on our plush sofa, my favorite book in hand and a steaming mug of tea on the side table. The soft pitter-patter of rain against the window created the perfect ambiance for a cozy afternoon at home. As I flipped to the next page, I heard the front door unlock, and a smile tugged at my lips. Heeseung was home.
"I'm back!" his melodious voice called out, followed by the sound of shoes being removed and keys jingling as they were placed in the bowl by the door.
"In the living room," I responded, not looking up from my book just yet. I was at a good part and wanted to finish the paragraph.
I heard his footsteps approaching, and soon felt the sofa dip as he sat beside me. A gentle kiss was pressed to my temple, and I finally tore my eyes away from the pages to look at my husband. His dark hair was slightly damp from the rain, and his eyes sparkled with warmth as they met mine.
"How's the book?" Heeseung asked, nodding towards the novel in my hands.
I marked my place with a bookmark and set it aside. "It's getting really good. The main character just discovered a hidden passage in the old mansion."
He chuckled, wrapping an arm around my shoulders. "Sounds intriguing. Though I hope it's not giving you any ideas about tearing up our walls to look for secret rooms."
I playfully swatted his arm. "Don't worry, I'm content with our secret-passage-free apartment."
Heeseung's eyes twinkled with mischief. "Speaking of which, I have a surprise for you. Close your eyes."
Curiosity piqued, I did as he asked. I heard him move away and then return a moment later. "Okay, you can look now."
I opened my eyes to find him holding a small, gift-wrapped package. "What's this for?" I asked, taking it from him.
"Just because," he replied with a soft smile. "Go on, open it."
Carefully, I unwrapped the gift to reveal a beautiful leather-bound journal. The cover was embossed with intricate designs, and when I opened it, I found the pages were lined with tiny constellations.
"Heeseung, it's beautiful," I breathed, running my fingers over the smooth leather.
"I remembered you mentioning that you wanted to start journaling," he explained. "And I know how much you love stargazing, so when I saw this, I knew it was perfect for you."
My heart swelled with love. It was just like Heeseung to remember such a small detail from a conversation we'd had weeks ago. "Thank you," I said, leaning in to kiss him softly.
As we parted, my stomach let out a low growl, causing us both to laugh. "Hungry?" Heeseung asked, raising an eyebrow.
I nodded sheepishly. "I may have gotten a bit too engrossed in my book and forgotten about lunch."
“Okay c’mon, take a break from the book and we can cook some food together” he suggested, slowly taking the book away from my hands. “How about stir-fry”
"Sounds perfect," I agreed.
We fell into a comfortable rhythm, chopping vegetables and preparing the sauce. Heeseung hummed softly as he worked, a habit I'd grown to love over the years. As I reached for the soy sauce, I accidentally knocked over the bottle of sesame oil.
"Dang it" I exclaimed, watching in annoyance as the oil spread across the counter.
But before I could even move to clean it up, Heeseung was already there with a cloth. "Don't worry, I've got it," he said, quickly wiping up the spill.
"My hero," I said dramatically, placing a hand over my heart.
He grinned, tossing the cloth into the sink. "Always at your service, my lady."
As we continued cooking, I couldn't help but marvel at how in sync we were. Heeseung seemed to anticipate my every move, handing me utensils before I even asked for them and moving around me with practiced ease.
Once the stir-fry was sizzling in the pan, filling the kitchen with delicious aromas, Heeseung turned to me with a glint in his eye. "How about we have a little fun while we wait?"
Before I could ask what he meant, he pulled out his phone and hit play. The opening notes of our favorite song started to play, and I couldn't help but laugh as he started dancing, gesturing for me to join him.
I hopped down from the counter and took his outstretched hand. We twirled around the kitchen, our socks sliding on the smooth floor as we moved to the beat. Heeseung sang along, his voice harmonizing perfectly with the music.
As the song came to an end, he dipped me low, both of us breathless and giggling. "I love you," he said softly, his face inches from mine.
"I love you too," I replied, my heart full to bursting.
The timer on the stove beeped, bringing us back to reality. We reluctantly separated, and Heeseung turned his attention to the stir-fry while I set the table.
As we sat down to eat, I couldn't help but smile at the sight before me. Heeseung had arranged the vegetables on my plate to form a smiley face, just like he used to do when we first started dating and I was feeling down.
"What's got you smiling?" he asked, noticing my expression.
I gestured to my plate. "Just appreciating your artistic skills."
He laughed, reaching across the table to squeeze my hand. "Only the best for you."
After dinner, we settled back onto the sofa, this time with our gaming controllers in hand. It had become a tradition of ours to spend our evenings playing video games together, alternating between cooperative and competitive games.
"Ready to get your butt kicked?" I teased as we booted up our favorite fighting game.
Heeseung raised an eyebrow. "Big words from someone who lost the last three matches."
"I was going easy on you," I retorted, selecting my character.
~
Later that night, as we lay in bed, I turned to face Heeseung in the dim light. He was scrolling through his phone, but set it aside when he noticed me watching him.
"What's on your mind?" he asked softly, reaching out to tuck a strand of hair behind my ear.
I snuggled closer to him, resting my head on his chest. "I was just thinking about how grateful I am for you. For us. For days like today."
I felt his arms tighten around me as he pressed a kiss to the top of my head. "Me too," he murmured. "There's nowhere else I'd rather be than right here with you."
As I drifted off to sleep, surrounded by the warmth of Heeseung's embrace and the love that filled our home, I knew that this, these quiet moments, these small gestures, this deep understanding between us, this was what true happiness felt like.
And I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.

I’m sorry I haven’t posted in a week 🫣 I’ll be better about it. I hope this sort of makes up for it 🫶🏻
You and Slash had been dating for the better part of a year and a half. Your relationship was mostly good aside from the occasional fights and arguments. You’d watch him play with Guns and he’d come in to watch you sell vinyls at the record store you worked at. It was an easy enough relationship. That was until he went on tour. You went to see him as much as you could but it was difficult. Well you pulled some strings and you were able to go on tour with them for a month.
You were mostly used to getting hit on by the guys. It happened nearly every time you walked into a room, but living with them? Well that changed everything. Slash went from thinking it was funny and being proud to have a girlfriend all his bandmates wanted to being annoyed with their constant flirting and sexual comments. Right now you were sitting cross-legged on the couch of the tour bus reading a book while you waited for the guys to return with food.
Slash pushed onto the bus with a huff. When he saw you though he smiled and handed you a box of food.
“Thank you,” you said setting down your book and grabbing the food.
“Of course,” slashed exhaled and kissed your cheek.
You opened your food and Axl pushed onto the bus. Slash looked over at him angrily.
“You’re so fucking annoying,” Axl said to Slash rolling his eyes.
“Fuck off, Axl,” Slash said back.
“You’re being such a fucking prick,” Axl spat out harshly.
“Yeah? Well you’re a fucking asshole. Find your own fucking girlfriend,” Slash stood up as he spoke.
“Oh I have no problem doing that,” Axl smirked.
“Then stop trying to fuck mine,” Slash nearly yelled. You choked on a french fry.
“You’re just afraid you’ll lose,” Axl smiled.
“Lose what?” You asked looking between them.
“Am not,” Slash quickly said back to Axl.
“No you so are. You’re afraid I’ll win and then what would you do?” Axl taunted as he stepped closer to Slash.
“Win what?” You asked standing up. Slash paused for a second.
“Nothing,” Slash said with a sigh.
“I bet him that I would make you scream louder if he gave me the chance,” Axl smirked. Slash paused and rolled his eyes.
“Dude seriously? Fuck. Off.” Slash sneered.
“Let’s ask the lady what she wants,” Axl said with a smile as he looked at you.
“I’m staying out of this,” you said putting your hands up defensively.
“1000 bucks says I’ll win,” Axl challenged Slash. Slash looked at him anger lacing his face.
“Dude…” Slash trailed off for a second, “fine but if I win you need to stop trying to fuck her.”
Axl smirked, “Deal.”
Slash looked at you, “are you sure you’re fine with this?”
You just nodded, “fuck it.”
Slash smiled gently and lead you back to the room. There was a bed but the room on the bus was mainly used as a rehearsal space. You guys walked in and Slash locked the door.
“I go first,” Axl said with a smile. Slash rolled his eyes. Axl walked up to you and gently cupped your cheek. The assertive, hard shell that seemed to cover Axl faded for just a second, “just relax okay? If anything hurts tell me.”
“Okay,” you smiled back at him. He gently kissed you. You had to admit, Axl was an absolutely amazing kisser. You kissed him back. He grabbed the hem of your shirt and pulled it over your head. You pulled his over his head. His eyes trailed down your chest taking in every curve.
“God you’re beautiful,” Axl whispered before gently leaning you back on the bed. He started to kiss down your neck and chest. He unclasped your bra and discarded it. His mouth carefully licked and kissed over your nipples earning a soft moan from your mouth. Axl smiled as he continued down your torso.
Axl got to your pants and he carefully pulled the sweats from your body taking your underwear with them. You were already wet. He kissed the inside of your thigh, gently kissing down until he got to your core, “is this okay?”
His breath was hot against your folds. You nodded frantically and he smiled before gently running his tongue through your folds. You groaned out loudly, earning a smile from Axl. He was sure he would win. You gripped the sheets and he ate you passionately but still gently. Slash watched and then smirked.
You looked over to Slash and he took a step toward you. He grabbed your boob and kissed you. You groaned into Slash’s kiss as he let his fingers gently tease your nipples. At the same moment Axl’s tongue swiped across your clit. A loud moan fell from your mouth and your back arched. Axl groaned against you sending vibrations through your body. Your hips bucked against Axl’s face. He gripped your waist tighter as he ferociously ate you. His tongue moved quickly earning gasps and moans to fall from your lips. Slash kissed down your neck still teasing your nipples. Your body shook and you came loudly. Axl smiled as he licked up your folds.
“Fuck off, Hudson” Axl mumbled as he finished licking you clean. Slash rolled his eyes and took a step back. Axl pulled himself over you and lifted your leg onto his shoulder.
“Let me know if this hurts,” Axl said gently. He pushed two fingers into you earring a groan. He pushed in deep and curled flicking over your sensitive spot. You grabbed his arm and dug your nails in.
“Fuck…” you breathed out. Axl smiled. He pumped his hand a few times.
“Is this okay?” Axl asked with a smile. You nodded and bit your lip.
“It’s amazing,” you whispered. Axl smiled and kept pumping his fingers in and out of you.
“God you’re so fucking beautiful. It’s amazing,” Axl whispered. He took his free hand and carefully pulled himself from his pants.
You groaned when you saw him. You could feel the wetness grow between your legs. Axl could feel it too which made him groan. He carefully pulled his hand from you and lined up with your entrance before he pushed into you. The way you were angled meant he could hit nearly every corner of your walls. Loud moans fell from your mouth as he moved.
“That’s it,” Axl whispered, “Beautiful.”
Axl rammed into you hitting every spot. You groaned out and gripped the sheets. Slash leaned forward and whispered in your ear, “you’re beautiful. That’s my baby.”
You looked at him and bit your lip. He connected your lips quickly. Your hands found his hair and quickly tangled in his curls. He smiled as you kissed him. Axl’s hips moved against you quickly and roughly causing loud moans to leave your lips into the kiss. Axl smiled and his body began to tremble as he moved against you. Axl groaned and he pushed into you deeper moving quicker. Your body arched and you groaned loudly as you came. Axl groaned as he finished.
Axl smiled and pulled away, “Beat that.”
Slash smiled, “she moans louder for me every day. Watch and learn.”
Slash stepped up to you and flipped you onto your stomach. You let out a breath. Slash leaned down and whispered in your ear, “You okay, my love?”
You nodded breathlessly and angled your hips for him. Slash smiled and pressed kisses down your spine. Goosebumps were left in with each kiss. He then rammed into you immediately hitting your sensitive spot and you groaned out in pleasure. Slash smiled and kept rocking his hips perfectly hitting every angle. You gripped the sheets tightly and moaned loudly.
“God…slash….” You moaned out. Slash slapped your ass.
“That’s it, baby. God you’re fucking perfect,” Slash said his tone filled with desire. He thrust into you every movement feeling better than the last. Long loud moans fell from your mouth.
“God you’re beautiful. I love you,” Slash groaned out. Your moans became high pitched.
“God…slash…I love you…” you groaned loudly. You felt him twitch and your body started to tremble. He moved deeper and more methodically hitting every spot perfectly. You came undone beneath him. His body began to move sloppily as he helped you ride your high before loudly releasing all over your back.
You both sat there breathless as you tried to gain your composure. Sweat covered your bodies.
“You win,” Axl groaned out. He set $1000 on the bed before walking out. Slash breathlessly laughed. You chuckled and pulled away from him and laid down on the bed. Slash collapsed next to you and put his hand on your face.
“I’ve never met anyone as beautiful and perfect as you,” Slash said wish a smile as he gently brushed your hair from your face. You placed your hand on his arm.
“You’re amazing,” you breathed out. Slash smiled.
“Only because I’m so in love with you,” Slash laughed, “just had to prove it.”
You chuckled, “I love you too.”

benny pulling his bike into the garage at his girl’s place to get some work done on it when the body on it isn’t looking too hot. his girl pulls up an old pool chair and watches him work.
and, see, she just came out to watch benny work. but she didn’t expect watching those hands turn the ratchet or buff out the dings. she keeps clenching her thighs tighter and tighter and sliding down down down in her seat… 🧿
eeeeeek! <3 changed it just a bit, but hope you still like it <3
"y'know in some places it gets so hot you can fry an egg on the street," cal says, perched on the vamps of his boots, leaning over benny's shoulder. it sure feels like that'd be possible today. benny, who drips sweat from his head to his toes, shoots a glare over his shoulder. he doesn't give a fuck about frying eggs not when he's this warm and this tired and his bike is leaking again. he turns his attention back to the matter at hand, the bike, this stupid fucking bike. the sun holds tight to the metal and shines so bright benny can't see anything and everything scorches his skin when he touches it and god damn why isn't there at least one cloud in the sky? he lets out a frustrated sigh, flicks his cigarette onto the street, and tears off his soaked white tank top. "wan' me to get y'some sunscreen?" cal chirps and no. benny doesn't want sunscreen and he doesn't want cal breathing down his neck. "no man just get the fuck outta here." "fine, fine." cal stands, wiping his greasy fingers on the already stained white of his undershirt. "someone's a grouchy fuckin' gus today. s'not my fault your bike leaks more than my momma at an elvis show." and that makes benny chuckle. "you're sick. go on somewhere." "fine. m'gonna swim. maybe your girl'll finally let me use that unicorn float of hers." benny doesn't respond, just shakes his head as cal continues talking to himself, long legs carrying him up the front walk where he stops and shimmies out of his levis leaving a puddle of denim at the base of the stairs. your place has been a hot spot as of late. with your father gone on business and your momma always away at her various clubs, your pool is the place to find any of the chicago vandals. it's a thin crowd today. there's wahoo and corky, who have more fun beating the shit out of each other with pool noodles than they do swimming, zipco, sonny, and johnny and they're good company, but you miss your boy.
"god damn it, cal if you don't get away from me." benny warns hearing the familiar flop of plastic against asphalt. but it's not cal, just you. "well, that's no way to greet a lady," you hum and benny nearly hits his head on the handlebars. he turns, smiling sheepishly. "m'sorry baby, just so fuckin' aggravated at this piece of shit." he wipes new grease onto his jeans, reaching for the glass of lemonade you've brought him, and yeah, the sun is hot but you are in a league of your own. swimsuit snug on your body, heart-shaped sunglasses hiding your eyes, floppy sunhat drooping into your field of vision. you're a sight for sore eyes and benny's eyes fucking ache. "what're you doin' out here, mm?" benny asks as you settle a picnic blanket on the grass on the other side of his bike. "just wanna spend time with you." you say, laying back, spreading your arms, welcoming the sun. "tryna distract me?" "no sir, just wanted to be by you." "mm, okay." benny finishes the glass, smudged fingerprints over the dainty design, and sets his sights on fixing this leak once and for all.
the sun hangs lower in the sky, but benny is hyper-focused; eyebrows furrowed, bottom lip bit as he ratchets a bolt back into its socket and my god is he beautiful. you're on your stomach now, legs up, sun caressing the pads of your feet as you kick them back and forth back and forth back and forth and if benny were a tv show you'd be the top watcher. the biggest fan. a bead of sweat tumbles down his cheek, and plunks into the concave curve of his clavicle and why do you want to lick it off? it's disgusting you tell yourself but you just can't help it. you'd chase it with your tongue, draw designs with saliva along the defined bone and down down down his happy trail and straight on til morning if given the opportunity. you'd do more, even. bite the silver button of his jeans with your teeth, tug the fabric away revealing- you have to shake the thought from your head and scold yourself and it does nothing because things get progressively worse when he reaches for a rag, sprays god knows what on it, and begins buffing the chrome exhaust pipe. his tattooed arms flex, the muscles straining and relaxing as he moves them up and down and up and down and you're dizzy as you think about what he does when he's alone in the dark of his room, legs tangled in bedsheets. your eyes latch onto the tattooed heart bearing your name. it's tinged red, glistening with perspiration, almost appearing to weep and you want to latch your teeth onto it, mar his pretty skin with indentations of your canines. drink him in until you're satiated and this heat must be making you crazy because jesus what is wrong with you? "what's on your mind doll?" benny's ears perked up at the first little whimper you unknowingly let out and ever since he's just been watching. peeking up every so often to see the muscles in your thighs clench. the jump in your jaw. the want seeping out of every pore. "nothin'" you say, giving him your best smile. benny nods, disbelieving. "wanna jump in the pool after?" "no." you say, too quickly. "no there is something i need to show you, actually." "yeah?" "mm." "where?" "my room." and benny has a feeling this day is about to get a whole lot hotter.

------
“Fucking Florida,” you muttered on the way to the coffee machine for your third cup of the night. It was already after twelve and the mountain of paperwork didn’t seem to be getting any smaller. You began the permanent battle to get the ancient machine running and picked out a mug, savouring every second away from the towering files and microscopic print. Almost immediately after the overwhelmingly strong scent whipped through the bullpen a certain unit chief emerged from her office, silver hair dragged back into a haphazard ponytail and top three buttons undone. To say you were obsessed with this woman would be an understatement. Yes, she was your boss and yes, she was majorly off limits, but there was no telling your body that. There was no helping the shiver that ran down your spine when she spoke, the goosebumps that revealed themselves whenever she brushed against you on the jet, the way every little hair on your body would stand on end when she singled you out. In short, you had it bad for Emily Prentiss, with no end in sight.
“Didn’t know anyone else was still here,” she drawled.
“Everyone sane went home hours ago.”
“And who can blame them, look at us. Relying on far too much caffeine just to get us through the paperwork.”
“When in Quantico,” you said with a small smile.
She laughed slightly, picking up the coffee pot and pouring two mugs, “It’s too late for your bad jokes.”
“You’ll have to excuse my lack of comedic genius, I'm exhausted and working on an empty stomach,” you replied, taking one of the mugs from her.
“What! Why?” She asked.
“I’m not a breakfast person to begin with and then with all the chaos this morning and the flight and the paperwork I just haven’t had the time to breathe.”
“I just ordered food, you’re having some of it.”
“Where did you order from this late?”
She chuckled, “A lady never kisses and tells.”
God you wished she would kiss you. You simply raised an eyebrow and took a sip of your coffee in response.
“It’ll be delivered to my office soon, grab a file and come wait.”
“Exactly what I’ve been craving, yet more blindingly dull reports,” you deadpanned, already heading back to your desk to sweep the top folder into your waiting bag and follow Emily to her office.
Of course you had been in there before, but never so late and never for an extended period of time. It was different, strangely exhilarating, walking through that door and being directed to the low table in the corner, sitting on the carpet and working this closely to another person. The two of you typed in comfortable silence until a knock came and a sheepish college student walked in with a huge brown paper bag.
“Finally, thanks so much,” Emily said to the poor boy, handing him the cash.
“Quick, move the case notes. Just dump them under the table for now.” You did so, pulling them all into a rough pile and quite literally dumping them on the floor under the table. She wasted no time in delving into the enormous bag, pulling out a burger, two boxes of fries and the biggest soda you had ever seen in your life.
“Good job I was hungry,” she joked.
“Fries.” You reached over and snagged a box, grease seeping through the bottom and onto your fingers before you even opened it. “Oh my god that’s good,” you said around a mouthful.
“I have an idea..” She swerved around the table, snatching a fry on the way and walked right out of the room. A minute later she came back in, bottle in hand.
“Rossi’s finest I presume?”
“Only the best for you,” She finished with a devilish grin.
“Glasses?”
“On ne fait que commencer.” And she took a sip straight from the bottle.
Fucking French. You reached over and stole the whisky from her, upending it and barely blinking when the amber liquid hit your throat.
“Someone has a tragic backstory just waiting to be unlocked.”
“The years of greasy food and crushing loneliness have numbed me to the mundane sensations of everyday life.”
“Preaching to the choir honey.” She raised the burger to her mouth and took a bite, sighing in content as she did.
The two of you kept eating in not quite silence, the crunching of fries and occasional clinking of the bottle providing the nights soundtrack. Only once all the food had gone and you were both sufficiently tipsy did you come up for air.
“Remind me to tell you I'm starving more often, this is the best time I've had in this building to date.”
“Anything to make some half decent memories in this place, all the bad we see deserves a little alcohol and fast food every now and then.”
“I know something you could do to make this memory more than half decent,” you muttered.
“Oh? Now what, pray tell, could that be?” She feigned confusion and came to sit on your side of the table, resting her head in one hand and looking up at you through her lashes.
“Fuck it.” Both of you leaned in at the same time, lips crashing together and a breathless gasp escaping from you, her hands drifting to your waist and tugging you onto her lap. It was desperate and clumsy and everything you expected it to be, everything you needed it to be. Her tongue pried your lips apart as you explored each others mouths, too desperate for contact to bother with technique. You fumbled with her buttons and she smiled against your mouth, breaking the kiss to pull your shirt over your head and undo the few buttons of her own that you had been unable to access. Breathing hard, you pushed yourself off of her and sat on the table, legs wide and one hand splayed behind you for balance, admiring the view in front of you. Not every day the unit chief of the BAU was shirtless in front of you after all.
Reaching for your belt, she asked, “Can I?”
“God yes.”
She made quick work of both the belt and your jeans, tossing them aside before slowly pulling your underwear all the way down and dropping it, slipping both hands between your thighs and slowly separating them. Lowering her face, she met your eyes and slowly kissed a teasing path from your inner thigh to your clit, stopping just before she made contact. You let out a whimper, already soaked for her.
“Desperate, are we?”
“Less talk more tongue,” You demanded.
Luckily for you, she obliged, wasting no time in wrapping her lips around your clit and sucking hard, dragging a savage groan from the base of your throat. Loosening her hold on your clit, she focused her attention lower down, flicking her tongue briefly in and out before delivering a broad lick to your cunt, finally setting for alternating between the two motions whenever your moans peaked in volume. Bringing her hands into the mix, she drew slow circles around your clit, successfully driving you to the edge as your breathing became faster and faster, the only coherent word coming from your lips being her name over and over in an increasingly high pitch. Her relentless pace never slowed, even as you finally came with a breathy gasp, fucking you through your high.
Dropping back down onto her heels, she smiled at you before reaching behind her back and unclasping her bra, throwing the purple fabric to the corner before grabbing you by the thighs and pulling you back into her lap for another searing kiss, easily parting your lips this time and taking full advantage of your post-orgasmic confusion. The haze clearing somewhat, you became aware enough to dive your hands downwards and play with her chest, flicking her nipples between your fingers and relishing in the soft whimpers falling into your mouth. It was you that pulled away this time, taking one of her breasts into your mouth and swirling your tongue around, eliciting a delicious moan from Emily. You bit down, hard enough to leave a mark, and she let out a squeal of pleasure, pushing you to do more.
Switching your focus to the other side, you repeated the movements, teeth pressing into her soft skin as your tongue worked overtime. Just as she released a particularly loud moan, your fingers forced their way into her waistband and found her clit, jerking it back and forth to the same pace your other hand was setting on the side of her chest not currently in your mouth. She was a mess, to put it nicely, grinding on your hand in a desperate attempt to get herself there. Feeling just how wet she was, you decided to forego any teasing and simply go faster, push her harder, anything to get her over that edge. Twisting your wrist for better access, you pushed both your fingers and tongue to the same brutal speed, stirring raw sounds from the woman above you as she peaked, ruining her formerly perfect suit trousers once and for all.
Wordlessly, she pushed you off again and crossed to the desk, rummaging in a drawer until she came up with a small silver key. Bending down to where you couldn’t see, she fitted the key in the lock of her bottom drawer and yanked it open, retrieving something without bothering to close the drawer behind her as she walked back towards you, hands behind her back so as not to reveal what she had. The second she was close enough you stood and grabbed her trousers by either hip, meeting her eyes as you removed them.
“So what is it that you keep locked away in that desk of yours?” You asked.
In response, she smirked and lifted up a bubblegum pink vibrator.
“Let’s see just how many more we can get out of you tonight sweetheart.”
She flipped you around and forced you onto the desk, pushing your legs apart as you whimpered in anticipation. Laughing at your eagerness, she pushed the toy into you, flicking at your clit as she turned it on at the lowest setting and you let out a groan.
You glared at her. “More.”
“Manners, or mommy won’t do a single thing more. Besides, I bet you look so pretty begging for it.”
Breath hitching at her words, you felt the vibrator slip as you grew wetter, reaching to push it back in only for Emily to grab your wrist.
“Please…” You muttered.
“I know you can do better than that baby, now come on, tell me what you want.”
“Please mommy please turn it up I need more god just please.”
“Since you asked so nicely…” She trailed off, pausing for a second before pushing the vibrator deeper into you and setting it to max, pulling a guttural gasp from the recesses of your throat.
“That's it princess, let me hear you.”
You held nothing back, letting her tear sounds from you that you didn’t even know you were capable of making for hours until you were both spent, collapsed on the office floor as the first threads of sunlight came through the blinds.
“Fuck Em it’s getting light outside.”
“Shit.”
The room was a blur of motion as both of you hunted for your clothes, her sighing when she saw the state of her trousers and rummaging through her go bag for a fresher pair.
“Anyone finds out about this and we’re both royally fucked, capisce?”
You beamed at her. “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.”

Ok, but for your amusement, might I suggest:
Tucker decides Danny needs a break and a shot at a love life. Tucker blackmails Danny into ATTENDING (though he makes the mistake of not specifying for how long) and Danny runs into a bored Wayne kid. Neither want to be there. Both were blackmailed with the kindest intentions. Both decide to team up to make their well-meaning but obnoxious meddlers pay.
I MIGHT HAVE GONE A LITTLE CRAZY WITH A REPLY HOLY FUCK, I'M SO SORRY. WARNINGS FOR THE END: MENTIONS OF GUNS, THREATS OF VIOLENCE, VIOLENCE. Happy ending <3
"Danny, you need a break." Tucker said, and Danny sighed.
"This again? Guys, I'm fine."
"You're not fine, Danny." Sam insisted, standing next to Tucker. She had originally struck up this conversation when they were still in Amity Park. "You're going through a lot right now and you need a distraction that isn't work or ghost related. Gardening didn't work-" Because he froze every plant he touched, "Meditation didn't work-" because when he closed his eyes and tried to relax he would have flashbacks about the countless things he'd seen since the accident. "So the next step is dating."
Danny rolled his eyes. "Hard pass."
"Come on dude, Sam is right. If nothing else you can at least do some people watching and get to know the city better!"
Danny simply continued to scroll on Tiktok, wondering how hard it would be to do one of those dancing videos he saw everywhere. Then again he'd actually need to know how to dance for that to work. He was so busy looking at the video he didn't notice the glance his friends passed between each other before they sighed.
"You've given us no choice, Danny." Sam said, "Tucker."
Tucker held a phone out to Danny to make him see the screen as Danny's face burned red at the picture. It was a picture of him in his Phantom form after a fight with Skulker where a good chunk of his suit had been destroyed, showing off more than Danny was comfortable with.
"DUDE! I told you to delete that!" Danny said, jumping off the couch towards Tucker who was pulled out of the way by Sam who then armed herself with a frying pan. "Delete it, guys!"
"No way! And if you don't at least get out of this house and at least make a friend I'm going to make a Phantom Dating Profile using this picture!"
"You wouldn't dare." Danny glared.
"Try us." Sam said, "We'll even send it through the Ghost Zone now that the Phantom Phones are working we're bound to get some replies from interested ladies."
Danny faultered, then groaned. "Fine."
"Hell yeah, we even made it easy for you." Sam said, handing Danny a piece of laminated plastic. "One ticket to the Wayne Gala this weekend. Tucker got permission for two people to go with him. Which means the three of us are going to a party!"
"A party. A Wayne run party? You guys are just begging for trouble." Danny sighed, "Besides, I don't own a tux, remember?"
"Leave that to me."
Two days later the party arrived and the three of them walked up the drive towards the building where the event was being held.
Sam was wearing a beautiful A-Line dress that was jet black in color with a rose shaped black bracelet that was wrapped around her wrist over the back of her hand and connected to her middle finger.
Tucker was wearing a black suit with a white button up shirt with slight rose shaped patterns on it, a black tie and a thin gold chain connected to his left vest pocket. he looked very sofisticated.
Danny felt like a fool though. Silently wishing he had never let Sam pick out his clothes. He was wearing a white button up shirt with the sleeves rolled up, exposing the black compression sleeve on his left hand, a gray vest, black suit pants, black shoes and a black tie. He was wearing a silver watch on his right hand which served as a ghost portal maker in emergencies.
He also knew that the 'pocket watch' in Tucker's Pocket was the same kind of device, and the rose Sam was wearing would release harmless smoke out of it if they needed a distraction.
Danny still felt like this was a bad idea. No, actually, this was a terrible idea. Not only because he looked out of place compared to his friends but compared to the rest of the party he hardly seemed like he fit in. He was going to draw so much attention to himself.
They walked to the front doors, showing their invitations and id's to the guards before walking inside. It wasn't as loud as some other parties they'd seen since coming to Gotham but it also was more crowded. There were people everywhere in expensive outfits, talking about... something that sounded like rich person gossip, it was boring.
"Have fun you two, don't make fools out of yourselves." Sam said, waving as she walked over to mingle with a young woman with blonde hair and another girl with short black hair, both seemed to recognize her.
"Oh, hey those guys are from my team, I'll catch you later, Danny. I wanna talk shop." Tucker said, rushing off just as quickly as Sam did as Danny sighed.
'I wanna go home.' He thought as he began to wade through the sea of people, trying to find his way to a wall where he could make himself look as small as possible. Not that it would be hard, his body was so busy developing new powers all the time it had decided that he didn't need to grow anymore after he turned 16 and stuck him at a solid 5'6".
He finally found his way to a corner, letting out a sigh as he sat down on a chair and looked out at the party happening all around him. He started to subconsciously count the people in the room, even going so far as to closed his eyes and sensed the very souls in the room. 56 people in his room, 17 in the room Sam was in, 10 upstairs. Danny then opened his eyes and got a sense for the room in another way. 45 windows lined the entire South side of the building if he was going his math right, with two sets of double doors near the front of the building. The building was mostly open floorplan which helped keep an eye on everybody but in an emergency it would be a stampede.
A man walked over, crossing his arms as he leaned against the wall with a growl. He was wearing clothes similar to Danny's but with a red shirt, but what caught Danny's attention was how he felt. He was luminal but not like Sam who felt like a walk through the garden or Tucker who felt like gritty sand, no the feeling that came from this man was like fire. A burning pain that also felt like grease stuck to the back of Danny's throat.
He was luminal but the ectoplasm that made him luminal was so fucking tainted that it made Danny want to gag.
Seeming to notice Danny's glance the man looked back at him.
"What?" He growled.
"Nothing, just thought your hair was cool." Danny said, noting the white streak at the front of his bangs.
The man blinked, touching his hair. He was about Danny's age if he had to guess, maybe a bit older.
"Thanks. It's a birthmark." He grumbled, but Danny could tell that it was probably a sore subject. If death turned his hair white he could only assume it did the same to this guy too. "What's your name kid? Never seen you at one of these boring as parties."
"Danny. Danny Fenton. And I'm not a kid, I'm 19."
"Same age as me, neat. The name's Jason." Jason introduced, himself. "You work at Wayne Enterprises?"
"Kinda, I'm just the janitor, my friend was the one who was invited. I'm just one of his plus ones."
"Yikes, what'd you do to deserve a punishment like that?" Jason asked as Danny laughed.
"My friends decided that going to work then living as some kind of godless cryptid that sleeps the rest of the day 'isn't healthy' so they dragged me out here in hopes that I'll make friends. Though they may have heavily implied that they expected me to either find a date or hook up with somebody while I was here. When I said no, they blackmailed me here. I'm just hoping that if I stay small and don't complain then they'll just let me exist without getting in my face for a while. What about you, what are you in for?"
Jason hummed and nodded, "Similar story. My dad and siblings are all here and said that if I didn't at least make an appearance this time that they would hide some of my books. Among other things. Plus my older brother used the whole 'you never spend time with us' whimper while my two sisters gave me puppy dog eyes."
Danny and Jason sighed before Danny looked at him. "Wanna hang out so they think we're playing nice and leave us alone?"
"Sure." Jason chuckled, "So which ones are your friends?"
"That one there." Danny said pointing to Tucker, "Tucker Foley, he works as a Programmer at WE. Then over there is Sam Mason, she works as a Gardener."
Jason's eyes widened, "Doesn't your friend Sam work at the Wayne Manor?"
"Yeah? How do you know that?"
"My dad is Bruce Wayne." He said, his eyes going to Tucker before they landed back on Danny and he laughed. "Wait. You're that Janitor?"
Danny swallowed a lump in his throat. "I don't understand?"
"My dad came home one day and said that somebody told him that there was information happening at Wayne Enterprises that was above his paygrade an we've been teasing him about it for weeks. Now every time he asks anything we reply with 'that's above your paygrade, Bruce'."
Danny groaned, his cheeks burning red. "Oh my god, I can't believe this. I didn't even mean to say that, I just panicked when he suddenly showed up in storage for no reason and caught me... uh... testing stuff."
"Testing stuff?" Jason asked as Danny nodded.
"Y-yeah. See, I work as a janitor because I didn't graduate high school and unlike Tucker I can't just breeze through school and show off my hacking skills to get a job. So I've been using some of the tech that gets thrown away to make something that would help me temporarily lift some of the fragile heavy objects around the building and place them harmlessly down so I can clean under them. But then Bruce caught me, I panicked and that was my reply." Danny was quick to explain, which wasn't a lie he was working on something like that but it was for the Ghost Zone to help him move some heavy things around his Lair and hold down things that often floated off for no damn reason.
"You know, that does explain a couple of things. I can't imagine your boss seeing you mess with tech would be a fun thing to explain. But... if you're so smart why didn't you graduate?"
Danny shook his head, "I'm not smart, I mean not like Tucker or Sam or my family. My sister is in Metropolis studying Psychology and is already a good way through her degree because she graduated a year early. Tucker and Sam graduated and are both working on getting degrees in something but nah, school just wasn't something I could do. Sitting behind a desk learning from a book isn't my thing. I'm better at using my hands, figuring stuff out on the fly, and trial and error shit."
Jason thought about this for a moment before he smiled. "I don't blame you, school is bullshit. Just like stupid galas."
"Mhm..."
Jason suddenly smiled, "Dude, I have the best idea to get back at all of them."
Danny smiled back, "Oh, you have all of my attention."
That one choice was how Danny ended up leaning against a wall closer to the crowd while Jason loomed with one hand near his head, talking to him about absolutely nothing important just to play the position while Danny occasionally chuckled. To anybody outside of the conversation it was supposed to look like they were flirting, which in a way they were but they also weren't.
"Do you like raisins? How about a date?"
Danny chuckled, at the horrible pickup line. "Excuse me, sir, do you have the time? I would like to know the exact time when I got a crush on you."
Jason snorted, "Are you a magnet? Because you sure are attracting to me."
Noticing Tucker and Sam looking his way Danny reached up and gently touched Jason's black tie to sell it more, but he was careful not to touch Jason otherwise. "Let's flip a coin." He told the taller man, "Heads I'm yours, tails you're mine."
Jason's cheek got ever so slightly red as he cleared his throat. "Are you a parking ticket, because you've got fine written all over you." He said as Danny chuckled again, watching Sam and Tucker quickly walk away to give Danny privacy.
"If you were a vegetable you'd be a cute-cumber."
Jason relaxed again at the cheesy flirt as Danny touched the silk tie in his hands. Not because he was actively trying to flirt with Jason but because it felt really nice and expensive. Jason snapped him out of his thoughts with another flirt. "Do you believe in love at first sight, or shall I walk by again?"
Before Danny could think of another flirt another man walked over, this one about 24 or so in age. He had wavy black hair and blue eyes with tan skin.
"Little Wing! Who's your friend?"
"Ugh." Jason groaned, moving slightly as Danny let go of his tie. "Take a hint, Dickie-Bird." He groaned.
The new person simply ignored Jason though and held out his hand.
"Hi! I'm Dick, Jason's older brother."
Danny shook his hand, "Danny. Danny Fenton, it's nice to meet you."
"You too, Danny! You look a little young to be working at WE, are you here with somebody?"
"A bit of both, I'm a janitor at WE but I'm here with my friend Tucker."
"Really? That's awesome! How old are you, Danny?"
"I'm 19."
This seemed to relieve Dick in a way that confirmed any suspicion that Danny had about him checking to make sure Jason wasn't doing anything illegal though he found himself ever so slightly annoyed. Did he look that young? No, people were just blind.
"Neat! Well, I just wanted to make sure Little Wing here didn't ditch the party, so I'll let you guys go back to what you were doing. Have fun~" He said, then walked away as Danny chuckled and looked at Jason.
"'Little Wing'?"
"Dick gives everybody nicknames, it's stupid. Now, where were we?" He asked, suddenly slamming his hand back by Danny's head as his cheeks grew warm. "Oh, that's right, I was going to out cheese you with these stupid fuckin' flirts."
Danny snorted, "Do you play soccer? Because you look like a keeper."
"I'm studying to be a historian. I'm really interested in finding a date."
This continued for a long time until they ran out of flirts and by that point Bruce Wayne was about to do a speech. At least that was the plan until suddenly the doors slammed open as party was crashed by a large group of people all wearing matching masks. Masks that looked like Ghostface from Scream.
There were at least twenty of them, all heavily armed with guns that they fired into the air. Jason cursed and Danny quickly grabbed him by the arm.
"Don't." He said, looking for Sam and Tucker who were trapped on the other side of the room. They were separated, they were in a large room but with so many people they might have been trapped in a hallway. "Where's your family?"
Jason looked around, "I see my dad and youngest brother. My two sisters are with your friend Sam. I don't see the other three though."
Danny shook off the question of 'just many of you are there' and instead nodded. "Okay, my friends are together too. So we should stick together, everybody else is in groups. Rushing anywhere now might start a stampede."
Jason frowned then glared at the criminals who were pointing their guns at everybody.
"Okay~ I think it's time we get this party started. Now, let's make this easy. If you don't actively work at Wayne Enterprises or aren't related to Wayne Family via blood or adoption get on your stomachs on the ground, the rest of you stay on your feet."
"They're looking for somebody..." Jason mumbled as Danny nodded.
The majority of the crowd laid down while only about a third of the crowd remained standing allowing them to see each individual person.
"Very good!" The criminal in charge praised and looked around. "Now, anybody who makes the wrong move will get one of the people laying on the ground killed. I know a lot of you are stupid enough to try to play heroes so instead of you getting shot we'll shoot whoever is closest to us."
"Shit." Danny and Jason both said together before passing a glance at one another.
The one in charge looked around again until he looked at Danny and pointed at him. "You. Step up."
"No way." Jason said as the man pointed a gun at a young woman who sobbed in fear.
"No no, it's okay. I'm coming." Danny said, patting Jason's arm as he walked carefully through the crowd towards the gunmen.
"Nice to see you again, brat." Hissed the man as Danny raised a brow. Before he could question it though the man pointed to Bruce Wayne. "You. Step up."
"Father." The young kid standing next to Bruce Wayne said going to argue but Bruce just told him to stay put then walked towards them. Bruce kept his hands up, looking at Danny with a clear look of recognition.
"Why don't you let the kids go, there's not a lot of them but those who are here don't need to be involved in whatever demands you have." Bruce said.
"Hah, no way, Bruice-Boy." Hissed the man as two of his men grabbed Bruce by his wrists, yanking his arms behind his back and knocking him back down to his knees. "We came here today for you, but damn we're lucky that this one is here. See, if it weren't for the kid here-" The man grabbed Danny by the front of his suit, shoving the barrel against his chin. "We wouldn't need to do this. This is what happens when you meddle, brat."
Danny's heart sank before he glared. "It's you. You're that bastard who boke in a few weeks ago!"
"Yeah! And if you had just minded your damn business this wouldn't be happening now. If you had just let us do what we were going to do then it wouldn't be a problem."
"You were trying to burn down part of the building with people still inside, I wasn't going to let you."
"And how is that turning out for you now, brat? Hm?" He moved the gun from Danny's chin as shoved Danny back into the arms of two more men who grabbed Danny's arms and shoved them behind his back but let him stay on his feet. "Now, Mr. Wayne, let me explain. See, you and your company were trying to find a cure for something found in the water supply that was making some kids sick, but see were were making a lot of money selling the cure at the highest price. We were going to destroy your progress but unfortunately we were stopped by another kid who thought he was a hero. So, this is what we're going to do. You're good at fundraising so you're going to help us fundraise ransoms for each and every one of these people from their own pockets. The more a person pays the more limbs they get to keep. We'll start at 20,000 per limb." He pointed his gun at Jason. "We'll start with the young man closest to doing something stupid."
Danny growled, glancing at Sam and Tucker. Their eyes met and Danny flashed them green. Sam nodded then with a swift motion told her friends something before smashing her bracelet on the ground.
In an instant their area filled with smoke that rushed out covering the men with smoke and protecting the majority of the crowd laying on the ground in a layer of smoke while only those standing could be seen. Danny reacted as well, knowing that more people would be able to see him . Dropping his full weight down he yanked the two men holding him together as they smashed their heads together and let him go. Danny then elbowed the one to his right in the crotch before standing up, grabbing the barrel of his gun and yanking it upwards, squeezing the metal so the gun would be unusable before he pulled it from the mans hand. Flipping on the safety of the gun he spun it and smacked the man in the temple with the butt.
Danny spun the gun, moving it to his left hand before disarming the man of his gun and kicking it into the smoke in the direction of the stairs in hopes of keeping it away from people. Snapping out of their dazes Bruce and Jason also seemed to react as Bruce slammed his head back, breaking the nose of one of the men before elbowing one in the center of the chest knocking the breath out of him while Jason grabbed the barrel of the gun the main guy was using and shoved it up, causing the gun to go up and break some of the ceiling plaster but preventing people from getting hit. Deciding to leave those men to those two Danny go to work again, but this time in a slightly different way.
He hated fighting humans.
They were too fleshy and not durable like ghosts so he chose not to fight and the smoke provided the perfect cover as he froze the feet of the enemies who were still posing threats while mysterious snake like shapes wriggled under the smoke and yanked the men under to where they would later be found wrapped up in plants or ice. One by one the men were taken down until there was a pained cry that made Danny turn when he heard Bruce shout.
"Jason!"
Danny turned, seeing Jason rubbing at his face. There as a cut above his brows from a knife. He had managed to get the gun from the man but he had pulled out a knife.
Protect.
Danny snarled, taking a step forward as the man went to stab Jason. Danny and Bruce moved at the same time with Bruce covering his son. But Danny made it to them before the man could make contact and he got in the way of the attack. Danny held the wrists of the man as he barred his teeth.
Danny shoved the mans hands upwards, knocking him back slightly before he spun and did a roundhouse kick. An attack that he might have put just a bit too much power into as the man was thrown a good ten feet backwards towards the stairs and the doors that he had broken down. Danny could hear the man wheezing and coughing, seeing him flailing desperately under the smoke but not getting up.
No sooner did Danny relax and turn back to the Bruce and Jason then did Batman (who seemed shorter today for some reason), Red Robin and Signal showed up with the police and a verity of confused looks.
"You sure you're okay?" Danny asked Jason who nodded, his forehead bandaged.
"Just a scratch, headwounds bleed a lot. I'm more confused what the hell just happened. Normally the bats react more quickly than that when they send in a smoke screen."
Danny chuckled, "You have a lot of experiences with the bats?"
"I'm a Wayne, it comes with the territory. Are your friends okay?" He asked as Danny looked towards Sam and Tucker who were mostly just waiting for Danny to finish but Tucker was also hacking on his phone to erase whatever data he could from the security cameras as he possibly could.
"They're fine. I'm going to get an earful for being reckless though."
"I don't think you were reckless. But... how did you learn to fight like that?"
"Uh... long story. Where we come from though the saying 'fight or die' was serious and there were daily reminders of it. But again... long story."
Jason nodded, looking drained. "Well... I know that this whole thing was just a way to get our groups off of our backs but how would you like to get dinner together some day? Just as friends, I mean I'm not against maybe trying some day but right now I kinda wanna get to know you. Besides, I'd like to thank you for protecting me and my dad."
Danny thought for a moment before he smiled. "Sure." He reached into his pocket and handed Jason his phone. Jason typed in his number then handed the phone back. "Get home safe, Jason."
"You too, Danny."
Danny started walking away when Bruce suddenly called out.
"Danny." Danny stopped and turned towards his boss, shrinking down slightly before Bruce smiled and put his hand on his shoulder. "Are you okay?"
"All good."
"Are you sure? You did really well out there but if you're hurt you should get looked out."
"I'm not hurt, Mr. Wayne, I promise. Just really tired."
"Alright, if you're sure." Bruce moved his hand and smiled, "Thanks for saving us, Danny."
"Any time, Mr. Wayne, but let's not make a habit out of it, okay? I moved to Gotham to get away from craziness like that." He said, waving his hand as he walked to his friends as he wrapped his arms over both of their shoulders and they made their way home.
"So, you guys have fun?" Sam asked as Danny looked at her.
"You know what... kinda, yeah. At least until the end."
"Did you get his number?" Wondered Tucker.
"Of course I did."

You paint Denki’s nails.
800 words~
Tumblr media
You carefully stroked the brush across your nails, ensuring to lay down an even level of paint.
“Man, that’s a strong smell,” Denki said, walking up to sit next to you on the couch.
“Oh sorry, I guess I could move to my dorm,” you said, placing the nail polish brush back in the bottle.
“No it’s fine- by all means continue cutie~” he said, in his usual flirty tone.
You rolled your eyes and continued to paint your nails.
“Hey, what’s that look for?” He asked defensively.
“Nothing little Pichu,” you said, continuing to paint and not looking up at him. You didn’t exactly mind Denki’s casual flirting, but it did irritate you that he flirted with anything that moved. You found it impossible to take any of his compliments seriously when he tossed them around so casually to anyone.
“Pichu? What happened to Pikachu, hm?” He asked, making himself comfortable on the couch.
“Pichu fits you better. He also hurts himself when he uses his electricity,” you said laughing.
“Ouch! Ok, you got me, but I’m working on it! I don’t fry my brain as much as I used to anymore!” Denki said, defending himself.
"I know I know, you've been working really hard," You agreed as you finished up with your nails. "Hey, let me do yours." You offered.
"What?! Paint my nails?" He asked, looking at you with a confused expression.
"Yeah come on, girls love a guy with painted nails. It'll help you," You said teasingly at him.
"Hmm, alright go ahead then. Besides, I'll take any excuse for a cutie to be close to me," He said laughing and sticking out his hands for you.
You playfully hit him on the shoulder for his remark.
"Hey!" He laughed, "You're being extra feisty today."
"You deserved it!" You said searching your bag to choose colors for him. "Hmmm- how about yellow and black? Maybe- your index and ring finger yellow then the rest black? That's pretty spicy I think."
"Sure I trust your judgment," he said, shrugging his shoulders.
You untwisted the cap of the nail polish and pulled his index finger closer to you. Denki watched as you carefully painted even strokes of color onto his nails. His heart beat just a little fast at how close you were to him.
"Wow, ok, I see your vision now. This is looking pretty cool. And~ since you're handing out tips~ what else do you think would help me with the ladies?" He asked, tilting his head as he watched you switch to the black nail polish.
"Be more picky," You said plainly as you continued to paint.
"Hm? What do you mean?" He asked.
"You flirt with everyone Kaminari, and everyone knows it- no girl wants that," You explained. "Girls like to feel special. They don't want to be with someone they think would just date anyone. They have to feel like you mean it when you say you like them or call them cute. So, stick to flirting with one girl. Maybe you'll have better luck that way."
"Ohh- Ok, I think I get what you're saying," Denki responded and looked solemn for a moment as he processed your words.
You two sat in silence for a few moments as you began painting his next hand.
"Hey- do... Do you want to go to the arcade tomorrow?" Denki asked, his voice sounding unusually unsure.
"Sure, you gonna kick Kirishima's ass at Mortal Kombat again?"
Denki laughed, "Always! But um- no... I meant... Do you want to go to the arcade... with just me?" He clarified.
You paused painting his nails and looked up at him, "What?" You exclaimed surprised by his question.
"Well- you just told me I should focus on one girl and... If I'm being honest- you're the one I think about all the time. I'm not just saying flirty stuff to be charming or something- I... I mean it with you," He explained, as he searched your dumbfounded expression desperate for an answer.
You felt like your whole body was paralyzed. Was Denki being serious? All those times he flirted with you- he wasn't just joking? Did he really mean everything he said?
Your cheeks warmed up the more you processed his words.
Denki began to panic at your silence, "Oh man, you can totally forget everything I just said if I made this weird. I don't want to ruin our friendship or anything!"
"No! It's not that- I... I uh... yeah- let's go to the arcade tomorrow. Just you and me," You said, your blush deepening as you went back to eyeing his fingers to avoid his gaze. It was suddenly hard to look him in the eyes now.
"Yeah? You want to?!" He exclaimed excitedly. "Ok! It's a date then."

Brunch is a two veggies and one meat Takeaway Box of stir-fried cabbage and ladies' fingers (okra) with curry chicken & potato over the staple of white rice. For okra, you want the younger tender fruits so they are not tough and fibrous but growers tended to want to maximize profit by letting them grow bigger.

Learn to Love (p.3)
A/N: this is the final part, I hope you enjoyed the mini-series!
Pairing: Rhea x Reader
Warnings: swearing probably, smut, fingering, oral/69-ing
Part two
Tumblr media
Your nerves were increasing as the day went on, not quite sure how the crowd was going to accept yours and Rhea’s partnership. You knew they loved her and they seemed to love you, but would they love you together?
Rhea stayed close to you throughout the day and you actually didn’t mind. While she calmed your nerves in some ways, she made them worse in others.
Now wasn’t the time to deal with those feelings bubbling up inside. You had bigger fish to fry and matches to win.
“You ready to go, babe?” Rhea asked, grabbing her bag to head to the show.
“Yeah, ‘babe’, I’m ready,” you laughed.
“I have an idea. Come here real quick,” she said, pulling out her phone. “Put this on.”
She handed you her hoodie and you slipped it on. She pulled the hood up and turned you toward her so your back was facing the mirror on the wall. She snapped a quick picture and posted it to her Instagram with the caption “big surprise coming tonight 😈”
No one could possibly tell it was you in the picture but you enjoyed the comments of people speculating what was going on.
Someone commented “Rhea’s new gf?” to which you noticed Rhea had liked.
“So I’m your new girlfriend then?” You asked, showing her your phone.
“Sure are, sweetheart,” she said with a smirk.
“That escalated quickly.”
“What did?” Dom asked, coming over.
“Rhea’s my girlfriend now,” you said, jokingly.
“Took long enough,” he said with a big smile. You were too confused by his reaction to notice Rhea’s, who was behind you waving her arm and signaling for him to shut up.
He looked at the confused look on your face and noticed Rhea’s panic and realized he may have messed up.
“I’m just saying…enemies to lovers is a very popular trope nowadays and that would be an interesting storyline for the two of you,” he quickly covered.
“Maybe we’ll run it past Vince,” she said, quickly stepping in front of you. She motioned for him to leave and he thankfully for the hint.
“Well, uh, good luck tonight!” He said before running off.
“What a weird kid,” you sighed, making Rhea snort.
“I’m telling him you said that.”
“You wouldn’t dare,” you said. She turned to face you fully and came closer.
“Try me, sweetheart.”
You knew she was trying to be menacing but she never scared you. You straightened yourself out to stand taller, leaning in so you were only inches apart.
“Maybe I will,” you whispered.
“Don’t tease me now.”
You weren’t quite sure where your little exchange was going but it was pumping adrenaline through your veins.
Unbeknownst to either of you, Damian had taken a picture of the two of you and sent it to Rhea.
She felt her phone buzz and decided to step back with a small smirk on her face.
“Just kiss her already,” he wrote. Rhea looked up and saw him staring from down the hall.
You followed her gaze and he waved when he noticed you looking.
“Did I miss something?” You asked.
She turned her phone toward you so you could read his text with the picture attached.
“It looks like we’re about to kill each other, not kiss,” you laughed nervously. There was obvious tension between you, you just weren’t sure if it was sexual or otherwise.
“Would you rather kill me?”
“No?”
“So you’d rather kiss me?” She asked, stepping closer once again. Your eyes widened and your heart was racing.
“That’s- that’s not what I said,” you stammered.
“But you said you didn’t want to kill me.”
“I didn’t say I wanted to kiss you either,” you argued.
“Do you want to?”
“Kiss you?”
“Yes.”
“Well-“
“Ladies! You’re up next!” The producer interrupted, making you jump back from her.
“Let’s go kick some ass,” Rhea said, grabbing your hand to pull you along.
How could she just be so calm when you were left reeling? You’d have to figure that out later, after the match.
To say the fans loved the two of you together was an understatement. They went nuts when you were announced as her partner.
The match was just a warmup to see how you worked in the ring together and it went surprisingly well. You played off each other’s strengths and made up for weaknesses. When Rhea made the pin and the final bell rang, you ran into the ring and into her arms. She lifted you with ease and spun you around.
You made your way backstage and you were ecstatic. Rhea was looking at you with such adoration in her eyes; what a change from just a few days ago. Rhea was beginning to think Vince was a genius for teaming you together.
Rhea’s bliss was cut short when she saw Shayna coming over and scooping you up.
“That was awesome! You guys did so well!”
“You watched?” You asked, finally being set back down.
“Of course, I watch all your matches,” she answered.
A sour feeling was settling into Rhea’s stomach as she watched your exchange. She was jealous; there was no way to deny it. She brushed past the two of you and went into the locker room. Your smile fell as you noticed her walking off. You thought she’d be happier after your win.
“I’m gonna go make sure she’s alright,” you said, giving Shayna another hug.
“No worries- go get your girl,” she said with a smirk.
You went into the locker room and found Rhea scrolling through her phone. She didn’t even look up at you when you walked in.
“Hey, are you okay?” You asked.
“Yeah I’m fine,” she mumbled, still looking at her phone.
“You don’t seem fine,” you said.
“Well I am so why don’t you run back to Shayna,” she snapped.
“Seriously? We’re back to this? I thought we were past that,” you sighed.
“I’m just saying, you’d obviously rather be with her right now.”
“If that were true then I wouldn’t be here…with you,” you said, sitting down next to her. She finally looked up with regret in her eyes.
“I’m sorry,” she whispered.
“I’m gonna need more than an apology to understand why you get so weird when I’m around other people.”
“I can’t explain it.”
“Try. Please?”
“I just don’t like how it makes me feel…”
Part of you, deep down, hoped it might be jealousy- a feeling you could easily relate to. It was how you felt every time you watched her be flirtatious with other women or even Dom. You figured that’s where part of your animosity toward her came from and you were hoping it was the same for her. Then the two of you could put those nasty feelings aside and admit to one another how you really felt.
“What does it make you feel, Rhea?”
“Confused, I guess,” she said quietly, looking down at her fidgeting hands in her lap.
“Can I maybe help un-confuse things?” You asked.
Rhea took a deep breath before looking up at you. Before you knew what was happening, she grabbed your face and pulled you in for a kiss. You were frozen at first, but you quickly reciprocated the kiss. You were certain your heart was going to beat out of your chest. You wanted to badly to deepen the kiss but before you could, Rhea pulled away.
“I have to go,” she said, quickly getting up and running out of the room. You were stuck in your spot- your mind racing with what just happened.
When your body finally caught up to your mind, you were racing after her. You weren’t sure where she went so you were looking anywhere you could think of.
You were running out of areas when you were stopped by the interview crew.
“Could we ask you a few questions about your new tag team with Rhea Ripley?”
“Oh um sure,” you said, bouncing back and forth and looking around for her.
“When did the two of you decide to be a team? It always seemed like the two of you were at odds with one another.”
“It was a recent decision actually. We’ve been getting to know each other inside the ring and out. I think we work pretty well together.”
“That’s an understatement! You guys were amazing out there; I think you might have something special on your hands.”
“Yeah, I agree. Rhea is definitely very special and I think we have a bright future ahead of us,” you said with a genuine smile. You excused yourself from the interview to continue your search.
You didn’t realize, however, Rhea had been watching the interview with Dom and Damian.
“She obviously likes you,” Damian told her.
“I don’t think so. She’s been pretty friendly with Shayna lately- and then I just go and kiss her and mess everything up!” She whined.
“First off- Shayna isn’t in the picture like that. She knows you like her and wouldn’t get between the two of you. Second- kissing her was probably the best idea you’ve had so far. Now she knows how you feel. Your only mistake was running away from her!” Dom said.
“How does Shayna know how I feel?” She asked.
“I may have mentioned it at the gym the other day,” Dom said quietly, looking at his feet.
“Is that why she canceled dinner?”
“Just so the two of you could have some time together,” he defended.
“I should kick your ass, but I’m too shaken up still,” she sighed.
“Why don’t you go find her? I know you’re worried things are gonna go wrong, but just remember, Mami always gets what she wants,” Damian chuckled. Rhea sighed and hanged her head in her hands.
“I think I’m just gonna wait for her at the hotel,” she said.
She quickly gathered her things and went back to your room. You searched the arena high and low and with every failed turn, your frustration was building. How dare she give you attitude, then kiss you, then run off?
You needed answers and you wanted them now. You finally found Dom who was packing up his gear.
“Have you seen Rhea?” You asked without greeting him.
“She left already. She said she was going back to the hotel,” he said.
“Seriously? Oh I’m gonna kick her ass,” you snapped.
“Is everything okay?” Dom asked cautiously.
“No, everything is not okay. You’re gonna need to find yourself a new Mami by the time I’m done with her!”
“I know she hasn’t always been the best at expressing herself, but she really does care about you,” he told you.
“Then why did she run away from me?”
“I think she’s scared- but you didn’t hear that from me!”
“Well off to the hotel it is then,” you sighed.
“Want a ride? I’m heading out now too,” he offered.
“That would be great,” you smiled.
The ride was quick and you tried to pry more information out of Dom but he didn’t let anything more slip.
Once back at the hotel, you practically ran to your room, hoping she was there. Thankfully, she was sitting on her bed when you went in.
“Are you done running from me?” You asked, crossing your arms in front of you.
“I’m not sure, are you going to yell at me?” She asked.
“I have half a mind to! First, you get an attitude when I’m with Shayna. Then you won’t tell me why. And then…and then you kiss me and run off to hide from me. Why shouldn’t I yell at you?”
She got up from the bed and stood in front of you. Your arms dropped to your side, subconsciously opening yourself up to her.
“I’m sorry for everything. And I’m sorry for kissing you. I was out of line and it won’t happen again,” she sighed. Your heart broke a little when she said that.
“I’m not mad that you kissed me,” you mumbled.
“You’re not?”
“I’d be more mad if you never kissed me again,” you admitted. A small smirk was playing on her lips.
“Is that so?” She asked, taking another step toward you.
“Yes, but you still need to tell me why you get so upset whenever you see me with someone else,” you said.
“I get scared. I get scared that they’re going to take you away from me- which I know sounds insane- but you’re mine, no one else’s.”
“Is that so?” Now it was your turn to smirk.
“Yeah, it is.”
She closed the distance between the two of you and kissed you again. This time you were ready for it and immediately deepened it. The kiss was full of passion and heat, each of your pouring your desire for one another into it.
She slid her tongue into your mouth, easily winning dominance over yours. She spun you so your back was to the bed and she laid you down, not once breaking the kiss.
She hovered over you and began to kiss down your jaw and neck, leaving love bites in her wake.
“Rhea, please,” you whined.
“Please what, pretty girl? Tell me what you want.”
“I want you. I want you to touch me,” you said.
She pulled your bottoms off quickly, sliding her hand in your panties.
“You wanted me to touch you here?” She asked, sliding her fingers through your folds.
“Fuck, yes!”
“I’m gonna make you feel so good, babygirl. I’m gonna make you forget anyone who isn’t me,” she said.
“I’m yours, only yours.”
“That’s right, sweetheart; good girl,” she said, circling your clit.
Your body jolted as she slid two fingers into your entrance, slowly pumping them in and out. Her thumb was still circling your clit and you couldn’t help the moans falling from your lips.
She quickened her actions when she felt your pussy gripping her fingers more, signaling you were close to your peak.
“Gonna cum for me, love? Cum all over my fingers,” she told you, sucking another hickey onto your neck.
“Fuck, Rhea, I’m cumming,” you moaned. You reached your climax moments later and you swore you’d never felt better in your life. She circled your clit slowly, allowing you to come down from your high once she was certain you were satisfied.
She pulled her fingers from you and licked them clean, moaning at the taste.
“I think I need more,” she said, smirking at you.
She tore your panties off and threw them across the room.
“Wait, it’s your turn though,” you said, tugging at her pants.
“I have an idea then.” She quickly pulled her pants and panties off, crawling over you once again. “Are you okay with this?”
“Of course, only if you are,” you replied.
“Okay with it? Sweetheart, I’m in love with it. Besides, Mami is always on top.”
She quickly turned herself around and knelt over your face. Her pussy was only inches from your tongue and your mouth was already watering.
“You ready, love?” She asked.
“So ready,” you sighed happily.
She lowered herself onto your face and leaned down so she was now level with your pussy as well.
You beat her to it, your tongue diving between her folds first. You felt her jump at the feeling before she quickly began to devour you as well.
It was hard to focus when she was making you feel so good, but you could tell she was enjoying herself as well by the noises she was making.
You could’ve sworn you had died and gone to heaven, with her body pressed to yours and being able to pleasure her just as much as she was you.
Your hips began to move, your climax approaching once again. But you were determined to get Rhea there first. You focused your attention on her clit, sucking and licking at the sensitive bundle of nerves.
Her legs began to shake slightly and you knew she was close. It was as if she caught onto the secret competition because she doubled her own efforts between your legs.
Before you realized it was even happened, your orgasm crashed over you in waves. You let out a whine but continued to lap at her pussy. Knowing she gave you your own climax sent her into hers. She continued to lick at your clit as you both rode out your orgasms together.
When you were both satisfied, Rhea got off and laid next to you. She pulled you in for another kiss, the taste of the both of you mixing on your tongues.
“So is it safe to say you’re mine now?” She asked, finally pulling away.
“I’m most definitely yours,” you said with a smile.
“Remind me to thank Vince,” she chuckled. “This may have been his best idea yet.”
“I definitely don’t think this was his idea,” you laughed.
“No, but still, if he hadn’t forced us together, I probably never would’ve worked up the courage to tell you how I feel.”
“Well I’m glad you did. And now we can move forward and be happy,” you said.
“I promise I’ll do anything to keep you happy.”
She kissed you once more and you sighed contently. Things may have gotten off to a rocky start, but everything works itself out eventually.

Don't Touch My Fuckin' Daughter
Tumblr media
Paring: Father!TommyxDaughter!ReaderxAnnoying!Alfie
Warnings: Swearing, age gap flirting (but not dirty...banter like)
Summary: Alfie and Tommy Shelby's daughter roast him for a good five minutes.
Word Count: 2,425
A/N: This is my first time writing Alfie, so I am a little nervous. This one shot is all in good fun. :)
Please comment and reblog. Let me know how I did!
Tumblr media
She was supposed to be studying. That’s what she had told Tommy. “Daddy, I want to go to university.” Uni-fuckin’-versity! She barely passed her secondary education. But he was willing to allow her to go under the condition…well, under three. “One,” he had started, pacing around her chair. “No fuckin’ partying! If I’m sending your modern woman’s arse to fuckin’ London to study, that’s exactly what you’re going to do!” He stopped pacing around the chair and knelt, getting real close to her face. His finger wiggling with purpose, he continued, “two, you pass your courses. You study, you do your work, your exams. And three! No fuckin’ boys.” Loud and clear, those were Tommy Shelby’s conditions for allowing his eighteen year old daughter to go to London for university. Well, not exactly university, but a women’s college. He was kind and all about it; getting her set up in a flat. It was a nice one, too, with a balcony. One room and a kitchen! Though, she couldn’t fry a bloody fuckin’ egg.
Everyone thought it silly, but Tommy wanted to test the waters. You know? Give the girl some breathing room to flourish and grow. Despite not exactly being confident in her success. Two months. No home visits, to and from. Only phone calls and short letters. Until one day, he decided that he wanted to join his little girl for afternoon tea. Early one Friday morning, he hopped in his car with some flowers and a small gift in hopes to make it for twelve.
When her flat appeared in the distance, he couldn’t wait to see how she was doing. She sounded so enthusiastic in her letters. “Oh, daddy! I am making so many friends in my courses! And my professors really like me. Life is good here in London.” He anticipated her flat to be decorated as Polly had decorated her bedroom back in Birmingham; pink aesthetic with white trim. He jiggled with the door, flowers under his arm and gift handle between his teeth.
“C’mon,” he grumbled in a muffle trying to shimmy the door open with the spare key. When the door finally opened the smile faded into a look of disgust. There was no pink aesthetic. No fucking white trimming. No paintings of Paris and Rome! Instead it was nothing short of the interior of an American mid-western tornado. And there was a stench of something rotten. “Fuckin’ ‘ell,” he whispered under his breath, attempting to walk in when he nearly tripped over a pastry box before getting his feet tangled in a pair of ladies trousers. “Shite!” he yelled out, gripping onto the sofa. He shouted for his daughter. But there was no answer. Only something of the mix of a snore and snort. He tossed the bouquet on the sofa when someone grunted. He turned his eyes and saw a boy slowly waking up, glaring up at him. On the rocking chair, there was another bloke.
“Mate,” the one on the sofa hissed, squinting as he sat up. Rubbing is eyes, he asked, “what the fuck?” He reached over to the half empty beer bottle to swish his mouth. Tommy arched a brow, clearly appalled.
He didn’t want to but he kept moving on, navigating the trash. He peeked in the loo and of course there was another bloke sleeping in the tub. Tommy grumbled and turned on the tap, watching the boy shoot up, cursing. “Get the fuck out!” he cursed, turning it off. The boy gave him a wild look trying to catch his breath. Before he could say anything, Tommy thumbed to the door. “Don’t you have a job to get to?” The boy blinked before replying no. “You’re fuckin’ kidding?! Get out…go on! And grab the two baboons on the fuckin’ couch while you’re at it, eh?” The boy nodded and walked past him, dripping wet and shivering.
Tommy prayed, which he never did, before entering her bedroom. “I swear to god,” he grumbled, hand on the door handle. “Better not be what I…fuckin’ ‘ell!” He hollered, opening her bedroom door. Hanging over her bed was another bloke and laying with her on the bed were three other girls. He screamed her name and she shot up, blinking for a moment before realizing who it was.
“Daddy!” she squealed, grabbing her blanket and covering herself. Her friends were waking up, and he yelled at them to ‘fuckin’ leave’. Which they were happy to when noticing Mr. Shelby was no man to mess around with.  “Daddy! You didn’t say you were coming…why are you here? I mean, daddy, I am happy to see you…but why?”
Tommy froze, mouth open for a second before he finally said, “I didn’t think I needed permission to stop by considering I pay for the fucking flat!” She swallowed, and there was a pause. He was staring her down, shaking his head. “On Thursday night? Where do all these people live? Do these people work? It’s fuckin’ noon! Don’t you have a course at eight on Fridays?”
She winced. “Attendance…is…optional-but, daddy! As long as I do my work, and I do! I really, really do!” Tommy shook his head. “Are you disappointed?” She tried to give him the cute pout that he could never resist. Though, it was easy when the flat he paid for was absolutely trashed and his lovely daughter wasn’t attending her classes.
“You broke our conditions!” He pointed at her. “Now, c’mon. Get dressed. I’m taking you back to Birmingham until I am sure I can trust you.” He left her bedroom and she followed, getting dressed as she walked. “Fuckin’ ‘ell,” he grumbled, kicking shit out of the way before turning to her. “You need a map for this place! Look at it! Navigating the fuckin’ Amazon! I’m surprised Tarzan isn’t swinging by your bloomers hanging on the ceiling!”
“Daddy, alright,” she grumbled. “Let me just find my bag-”
“You can find Noah’s lost fucking ark better than finding anything in this dump.” He turned to her. “Love! I could wiggled myself through the fucking tunnels in Paris better than I’m walking through this.”  He would not stop. “Stevie the fucking sewer rat doesn’t even want to eat whatever is growing that pan…it has fuzz! Why does the fucking pan in the sink have fuzz?!” He walked over to the kitchen shaking his head. “Tell me! Are you allergic to dish soap?! In fact, are you allergic to anything that needs responsibility! Seriously, who raised you? Because apparently it wasn’t me. No one in our family lives like this! In fact, no one lives like this.” The girl, used to her father’s antics, simply grabbed her coin purse and coat. “C’mon…what the fuck is this!?” He looked down and there was a pile of women’s panties hanging on his foot. “Whose are these?” He picked them up.
“Daddy! They’re mine!”
He started to get angry for a whole other reason. “What business do you have wearing underwear like this?” He threw them in a pile.
“Daddy!” she whined again, picking them up. “That’s the clean pile…that is the dirty pile.”
“Clean pile? Oh, so you're telling me there is something clean in this flat?”
They made their way down the stairs and to his car parked on the curb. The whole way down he complained. I bought you flowers…already wilted from the stench in there. I swear, I saw the fucking trashman in there picking through. Fuckin’ ‘ell, ten percent stuff…ninety percent garbage. The bloody fucking trenches were more organized! And on and on and on until they were finally in the car. He turned to her, giving her one last look of disappointment before saying, “I have a stop in London. You have to come with me and then we are going home…home! And when we get home, I want your keys to the car and the flat.”
“Wait, daddy, I am going to a business meeting with you? You never-”
“It’s not a meeting,” he said. “It’s just a check in, if you will.” A check in? She scoffed. Her father must do that often, she had thought. He drove for some time, every so often telling her about the new rules for when she moves back home. “Hand in your keys. No more allowance! You’ll get a job, work part time and go to school in Birmingham. Finn will be taking you to and from. And I’ll tell you another thing…no more fucking partying.” He parked the car at what looked like a distillery. She climbed out after him and followed at his tail.
“Who are we meeting?” she asked.
He looked over his shoulder, and replied sarcastically, “the Jewish spokesman…don’t speak. Just stand there and we’ll leave. The less he has to comment on, the better.” She stopped for a minute, knitting her brows before shrugging. They walked inside and down a stairwell before tucking themselves in a room. There was a man turned, mumbling to himself. Even inside, he wore a top hat and held onto a walking stick.
“Mornin’, Alfie,” Tommy said, pulling out a chair and taking a seat. He looked up at his girl and nodded to the chair next to him.
The man turned, and snorted. “It’s fuckin’ noon, Tommy.”
Tommy sighed, and nodded. “Noon, Alfie.”
Alfie turned and raised his brow at the girl who simply smiled at him. “What the fuck is this!?  Picking up strays along the fuckin’ way?” She laughed and told her father that he was funny.
“Yeah,” he responded, dryly, rolling his eyes. “He gets funnier as the time moves on. At least he thinks so.” He motioned to his daughter. “Alfie, this is my girl. Just picking her up from school. Thought since I was in the area, I’d pay a visit.”
Alfie was still looking at the girl, mouth gaped a bit. “Tommy! Tommy fuckin’ Shelby, you know you don’t have to go that fuckin young? She looks like she’s still attached to her mother’s-”
“No, no! Sir,” she laughed, shaking her head. “No! He’s my daddy.”
That only made it worse. “Didn’t fucking know you were into that, but at least your money is being spent on something more than whiskey and whatever else you fucking Gypsies spend yer money on.” Tommy let out a long annoyed sigh, instantly rubbing his temple. “Well, don’t fuckin’ look at me like that! It’s your prerogative, aint it, yeah?”
“She’s my daughter, Alfie,” he said. “Thank you for just making this short visit more uncomfortable than it had to be. On point and key, eh?”
Alfie looked at the girl to Tommy and back to the girl. He walked over, leaning into her face before facing Tommy. “She fucking looks nothing like ya’!” He went back to examining her face, smiling slightly. “That fuckin’ God…I’ll tell you that much! She must take after-”
“Adopted,” Tommy interrupted. “She’s adopted. That’s why.”
“Good fuckin’ luck that is,” he said. “Cause if I had a father that looked like you, I’d pray every fucking day I didn’t look like ya’!”
“Thank you, Mr.-er?” She winced, wanting to be polite. “What should I call you? My daddy taught me to never address an elder by their first name.” The air in the room shifted, and Alfie straightened. When his smile dropped, Tommy’s widened. “Oh! I offended you. I’m sorry. But thank you…I am also happy that I don’t share DNA with him…he’s got,” she paused, and stood, leaning into the mysterious man’s ear. “Issues.”
The smiles switched again and Alfie pulled away, gently putting a hand on her arm. “That is what I’ve been fuckin’ saying, mate! You got problems.” He looked back down at the girl, and took off his hat. “Sorry, love, I don’t mean to swear so much.”
Tommy looked taken aback and said, “Alfie, I’m surprised. You have social awareness. Since when?”
“Well, unlike you, I like her!” Alfie said. “She’s pleasant to be around. You, on the other hand, not so fuckin’ much.”
“Pleasant? Keep her hair overnight,” Tommy said. “Then call me in the morning and let me know how much hair you've lost up top…not that there is much to lose. Noticed you're getting quite thin up there.”
“Daddy!” she whined, her bottom lip pouting out. She affectionately rubbed Alfie’s arm and looked up at him. “I’m so sorry. He’s always like this-”
“I know!” Alfie agreed, taking a seat and pulling her down with him. “Pass my cigar case, love.” Tommy’s jaw stiffened when her delicate hand reached for his metal cigar case. Tommy swatted her hand away. “What?!”
“Get off his lap-”
“Daddy, you’re being ridiculous,” she accused, grabbing the case and taking one out for him, lighting it. “There you go, Mr. Solomons.”
“Call me, Alfie, love,” he said, puffing it. “You know, he comes in here while I’m minding my own business-”
“He does that to me, too!” she agreed, shaking her head. To keep her steady, she wrapped her arms around his neck, and smiled. “Shows absolutely no respect. Just barges right in. Did that to me today, Alfie. And guess what? I’m the bad one because my flat is messy! How am I to clean it for him if I don’t even know he’s coming?” Tommy rolled his eyes, mumbling under his breath unreal.
“Un-fuckin-real,” Alfie agreed, looking at Tommy. “You could learn a thing or two from this girl, Tommy. Sweet, pleasant, and personable. She has a personality! Say, what do you have, Tommy?”
His daughter frowned. “Generational trauma…stems from his father. No doubt about it.” She turned to her father, and reached out her hand. “Daddy, it’s okay. You will be okay.” With that, Tommy stood, and fixed his coat.
“Alright,” he sighed. “Enough of this. Come on, we are gonna head out. Alfie, good-bye. Just wanted to stop and say hello-”
“And you already did,” Alfie said. “So why did you stay so long?” He smiled back at the girl, and rubbed her arm kindly. She giggled lightly and placed a gentle kiss on his cheek. “You come back here anytime. Makes dealing with him easier.”
“I will, Alfie,” she said, sliding off his lap and walking to the door. She waved goodbye and left.
“And you’re still here. The Shelby I like left, leaving the one that gives me nothing, but-”
“Alfie,” he interrupted, pointing his gloved finger at the man. “Touch my daughter like that again and I’ll fuckin’ shoot you, yeah?”

You Scare Me, Professor: Chapter 29
Tumblr media
Summary: The reader is taking graduate classes at a local university in the wooded upstate New York. She is drawn to her professor, Dr. Joel Miller, though she is also inherently aware that he has something dark about him that she can't quite put her finger on. As the reader's attraction grows deeper, she has to decide whether to endure the danger or run away as fast as possible.
Pairing: Professor Joel Miller x f!reader
Tori and I met up on my lunch break the following afternoon. I filled her in about the mishap with James the night before and she visibly cringed.
“Ouch.” She made a face. “That was a bold way to shoot his shot.”
“I felt so bad,” I admitted, “I still feel bad.” I twirled a French fry in ketchup and popped it into my mouth.
“Did you tell Joel?”
I nodded. “The night before I had gotten a card that was left on my car with no name. I thought it was this creepy guy Trevor from class.”
“Who’s creepy Trevor?”
“He's just this brown noser type of guy. I saw him lurking behind the building one night when I left and then he, like, popped out of the library stacks at me out of the blue.”
“Red flag, red flag.” Tori made invisible check marks in the air with her finger. “What if he's the lady killer?” That's what the papers and news outlets had branded the person responsible for the two dead women.
“Lately, I think everyone is the lady killer.” I huffed a laugh and shook my head. I changed the subject. “Are you and Derek doing anything for Valentine's Day tonight?”
“We’re going to see an early movie and then going out for cocktails and some apps.”
“Sounds fun.”
“Where’s Mr. Gold Coins taking you?” She asked with a laugh as she forked a bite of chicken from her salad, “Paris?”
I laughed. “We’re going to a place called Lake Kora.”
“Where's that?”
I shrugged and reached for the second half of my turkey wrap and took a hearty bite.
“You didn't Google it?”
I shook my head and continued to chew.
“Do I have to teach you everything?” Tori eyed me and began typing away on her phone. “How do you spell it?”
“L-a-k-e,” I began, smirking at her as she flicked my hand.
“Smartass, I know how to spell ‘lake'. What about the second part?”
“K-o-r-a.”
Tori eyed her tiny screen and began flicking her finger until she seemed satisfied. “Hmm..”
“What?” I arched my neck and she turned her phone part way.
“Looks nice.” She scrolled through photos. “Is he going to put, like, rose petals all over the bed? Feed you chocolate covered strawberries?”
I nearly spit the bite of my sandwich out and the two of us began laughing, drawing looks from other customers in the little sandwich shop.
“Sorry,” Tori whispered with a hand up, still chuckling as she took a sip of her iced tea to compose herself.
“Maybe we can double date some time soon,” I suggested.
“I gotta get a feel for this guy,” she nodded in agreement and poked around through her lettuce in search of a crouton. “What's going on next weekend?”
“His sister is getting married. We’re going to Vermont for the long weekend.”
Tori raised her eyebrows. “Wow.”
I nodded. “I was nervous to go but I met her recently and we hit it off, so..” I shrugged.
My friend pointed her fork in my direction. “If this guy ends up breaking your heart, I'll break his neck.” Tori paused, “Well, I’ll get someone to do it because I probably wouldn't be able to.”
I have a closed-mouth smile. “I hope this is all what it seems; because I'm totally caught up.”
“I know you are.” She nodded, “I've never seen you like this.”
“I know.” I ate another French fry and sipped on my Diet Dr. Pepper. “It's a little scary.”
Tori gave a genuine smile. “I guess life should be about taking chances.. and following your heart.” She raised her styrofoam cup, “To the next step?”
I tapped my cup against hers. “To the next step.”
The ride to ‘up-upstate’ with Dr. Miller late that afternoon had me excited for the weekend ahead. We took the truck, loaded up with snacks and even stopped at a little hockey store to purchase two pairs of ice skates. I couldn’t wait to go ice skating. It had been so long since I’d been but I was sure I’d pick it up again - like second nature.
“Want a coffee?” Dr. Miller motioned to a little shop beside the hockey store, “Or hot chocolate?” He grinned and took my hand when I nodded. We wandered into the shop and the aroma of freshly ground coffee beans hit me like a wave.
My eyes scanned a chalkboard with an endless array of choices. There were your typical French Vanilla flavors and Hazelnuts. And then the list trickled down to pistachio, white chocolate almond, blueberry and peppermint mocha.
“I’ll do a medium black coffee with a shot of espresso,” Dr. Miller ordered. “And a package of the chocolate covered espresso beans.”
When I spotted a banana mocha chocolate espresso, I was sold. Half hot chocolate, half coffee with the sweetness of the banana. Sign me up.
Dr. Miller smiled at me and gently squeezed the back of my neck as I ordered. I leaned into him and our hands found one another’s again after getting our orders and walking out.
“I can’t wait to get up there,” I told him when we got back in the car. I sipped my drink after giving the entrance to the cup a gentle blow and then set it in the cup holder. When Dr. Miller reached for my hand again, I squeezed his. I loved how he had to touch me at all times - whether holding my hand, squeezing my neck, or resting a hand on my knee as he drove.
He popped open the little bag of espresso beans and then reached over, prepared to place one in mouth.
I accepted, purposely sucking the pad of thumb for an extra second and Dr. Miller smiled at me. I almost giggled, thinking about Tori’s comment about the chocolate covered strawberries but I just grinned and looked out the window, relinking my hand with his.
Honestly, I didn't want the car ride to end. Until it did, and the A-frame lake house we would be staying in came into view.
Okay, I'm ready for the car ride to end.
The frozen lake stretched out, what looked like, for miles as he pulled down the long, rocky driveway.
Dr. Miller pulled the truck up beside the house and I got a glimpse of a hot tub on the front deck. He turned to glance at me and I couldn't help but smile.
“Come on.” He nodded his head toward the cabin and opened his door.
I eagerly trailed him up to the rental property. Neither of us bothered to grab our belongings yet. The sting of the cold weather felt refreshing on my cheeks on the short walk to the front door.
Dr. Miller punched a code into a little black box beside the door and a silver key popped out as the front of it opened.
“Do you own this house, too?” I had to ask, but he smiled and shook his head.
“I know as much about it as you do.” He slipped the key into the lock and opened the door, pulling me inside by the hand as he flipped on the main lights. It was like something from Pinterest or “hashtag cabin” on any number of social media outlets.
An oversized television sat above a stone fireplace to the right. A small collection of couches and chairs faced it, only split up by a shag throw rug. Above it hung a giant rustic chandelier. Overlooking the living room area was a loft that was accessible by a winding staircase and beneath the loft, straight ahead, was a cozy, modern kitchen with low ceilings.
“What do you think?” Dr. Miller put his hands on my shoulders from behind, and I reached up and placed one hand over his.
“I think we should stay here for a week.”
“Or two,” he added.
“Or two.” I nodded in agreement and looked over my shoulder at him. “Thank you. This is amazing.. again.”
“Let's get our bags.”
I followed him back to the car and he carried as much as he could, leaving me with just the ice skates that I set down on the couch in the living room area. We unloaded the little bit of food we’d brought up for the short stay and then towed the suitcases up the windy stairs to the lofty bedroom.
“Feel like some dusk ice skating?” Dr. Miller asked, sitting down on the edge of the bed.
“Is it safe?”
“I've been checking the weather all week,” he explained, “It's been in the teens and twenties.” Dr. Miller nodded, “There were some people out there when we drove up. Should be frozen solid.”
“Well, then, I can't wait.” My hands fell down into his and I bent at the hip to kiss him firmly on the lips. When I slowly dropped to my knees in front of him, working at the buckle of his belt, Dr. Miller looked down at me with a half, closed-mouth grin.
He sighed and arched his hips so I could shove his pants down to his ankles before closing his eyes as he stood back up. “Alright,” he agreed with a second deep breath.
“Unless you want to get right out onto the ice..” I teased.
Dr. Miller opened his eyes again and looked down at me. “It'll still be there in five minutes.”
“Five?” My hand wrapped around him now and I took him partway into my mouth. I guessed longer.
He groaned and smiled with his eyes closed. “Maybe three.”

I'm alone and sore, and I'm thinking about early-to-mid season 5 Dean...
Somewhere, I have a post about how in I Believe the Children Are Our Future, Dean is suddenly acting giddy, like he has a crush. (Also, hello, plaid-cheque of the family diner-that-someday-SOMEDAY-I-will ramble about on @wheretheloveisstored. Dean is playing tricks on Cas just as he comes to the human family table!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dean -> wHo pUt ThAt ThEre??? & then Cas pops open his jacket almost like he's stashing the damn thing for later???
I think this is the episode where Dean started acting idk...more visually and verbally worried at least.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"He's a buddy of mind. He's not bad...just confused."
//
Tumblr media
Then we have that moment in Changing Channels were Gabriel has the gameshow announcer talk about how Cas is good-looking and Dean has such a strange little reaction.
-> "Mr. Trickster does not like pretty-boy angels."
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It reads like, "Cas? That Cas? *double-take/eyebrow POP* Wait, actually-wowza. I can't believe I just thought that. Look what you made me think in front of an audience UGH."
///
Like, I think in this little span of time in early 5, where we get dorky, complicated, epic-fail-moments-Cas is when Dean starts to get those fluttery feelings in his belly fluttering a little more sharply.
Up till this point, he's had the awe for Cas's rebellious mettle and hero worship-ness for Cas's powers and steadfastness, but it's here that it seems to be mixing with...something else. Something "UGH - embarrassing!"
Dean starts to like Cas, and then he starts to innocently-I'll-never-act-on-it-because-it's-safe-and-unavailable...like Cas.
///
Right before these, you've got the Free to Be You and Me, then you've got The Endverse, and then by the time we get to I Believe, the Children Are Our Future, Dean is practically hair twirling and playing pranks (even when Cas is trying to kill a hybrid child.)

Then, by Changing Channels, he's verbally worried about him in a way we haven't seen before. In fact, it's when Cas gets spirited away by Gabe the second time that Dean snaps:

CASTIEL is flung backwards into the wall, his face hidden. The TRICKSTER appears at the door. TRICKSTER: Hello! Applause and cheers. CASTIEL gets up; his mouth has been duct-taped shut. TRICKSTER: Thank you. Thank you, ladies. CASTIEL glares at the TRICKSTER. TRICKSTER: Hi, Castiel! The TRICKSTER gestures at CASTIEL, who vanishes in a burst of static. SAM: You know him? DEAN: Where did you just send him? TRICKSTER: Relax, he'll live. ...Maybe. Laugh track. DEAN: All right, you know what? I am done with the monkey dance, okay? We get it. TRICKSTER: Yeah? Get what, hotshot?

"He'll live...maybe" -> Dean's HELL NAH gets activated and he gets up in Gabe's face even though he just learned Gabe's powers are scarier than he appeared even before now. Remember, at this point, this is an entity that killed Dean over and over, and Dean's even aware of that (he says as such in this episode).
And then, Gabriel viciously slams Dean against a wall. It's dangerous.

We get this scene, visually very similar to when Cas appeared to Dean in Free to Be You and Me:
DEAN finishes brushing his teeth and spits. DEAN: I'm worried, man. What that SOB did to Cas. You know, where is he?

DEAN: Well, first of all, you're gonna bring Cas back from wherever you stashed him. GABRIEL: Oh am I. DEAN: Yeah. Or we're going to dunk you in some holy oil and deep-fry ourselves an archangel. GABRIEL snaps his fingers. CASTIEL appears. DEAN: Cas, you okay? CASTIEL: I'm fine. Hello, Gabriel.
Anyway, this era is definitely lurching into a critical "I-care-about-my-buddy-and-maybe-I-sometimes-have-a-harmless-crush-actually," territory for me.
