Miraculous Ladybug AU where, like in the deleted scene from the movie, Marinette only recently moved to Paris from China so she barely speaks any French. And all of Paris thinks Ladybug is this cold, calculating, silent badass cause she never speaks in interviews, leaving Chat Noir to do enough talking for both of them.

Until one day, Chat Noir is all like "My dear, dear, lady. We have been working together for so long, and I've come to believe we are close. But you never talk to me. You never respond to my jokes. You never consider my flirts. You never fill me in on your plans. Did I do something to upset you? Please, if so, let me atone. Let us be friends and partners, M'lady" And Ladybug just looks at him for a while before saying, in very broken French. "My... French... very bad..." and Chat Noir has to reconsider everything he thought he knew about Ladybug. Then they both realize they speak Mandarin Chinese and just start blabbering on and on to each other during fights and patrols.

Which then gives Adrien the idea to approach the weirdly quiet girl in his class to see if she maybe also doesn't know French. Blah blah, Adrien and Mari talk all the time and Marinette gets better at French cause of him.

Also just a bit more info on the AU, so basically Gabriel actually lets Adrien go to school on the condition that he pick the school for him. And well he would obviously not choose a public school so they never meet. Marinette would have to face Lila alone, and a bunch of stuff then she ends up transferring to the private school from her accomplishments and getting a scholarship. The Quantic Kids are in this since I love them, they adopt Marinette and Adrien into their circle which is pretty adorable. Adrien first and Marinette later

Listen I am an absolute sucker for any fic or AU or scenario where an Adrienette child comes back in time somehow and just. Has absolutely no respect for their parents’ secret identities. Emma telling Marinette that her name is Emma Agreste and then yelling “Daddy!” when she sees Chat Noir. Hugo excitedly telling Adrien about making cookies for Tikki with Grandma Sabine last week. Louis wondering loudly where Plagg is because he wants to play and then going “Papa!” at Marinette’s Adrien Collage. Accidental reveals through the Adrienette kids are yes.

There are sometimes when I think this past year hasn’t been so bad. And then there are other times when I remember I watched all five seasons of Miraculous Ladybug in a month.

Treating kids was Adrien's passion, they understood his humour and he loved cheering them up on such hard days. He wasn't in a position to have his own (the single life did that for you), and he wasn't sure that it would ever be on the cards, so for now double shifts were his life.
