A Mere Relic

Xe whispered to the one who was sometimes called Haephestus and sometimes King Crucible.  "But it's broken!"

"You came for a reading lesson did you not?  This is what remains, save for me... save for me.  And languages are re-forged with each generation, a bit different each time. A part of you knows a word or two, like old re-used copper beads, stitched into the new strand of syriac, or did you not know that language?"

"No, I know it!"

"Then read, Laidlaw!"

And xe shivered as xir name took on the crackle of flames, the hiss of smoke in that sentence.

Xe traced xir fingers along the scratches in the metal, and the rats in the culverts above, the flotsam, the pines and the reeds all leaned in to listen....

But it is 2! We replayed it recently and forgot just how persistently goofy it tries to be all of the time. We've got a lot of memories of messing around in it and it's such a good time. Also has a lot of brutal sfx that we like to pull sometimes. The co-op also still fucks to this day
