A list of notable and famously known national heroes/military events that shaped the Philippines’ history to remember where we come from!

(These are the famous stories, if ever there are inaccuracies, do correct them!)

01. Lapu-Lapu - The First National Hero!

Lapu-Lapu was a tribe Datu (ruler or king) that occupied the land, with several other Datus, before Ferdinand Magellan’s arrival at Mactan, Cebu.

Magellan, if unfamiliar, was a Portuguese explorer who yielded Spanish ships to travel around the world in order to prove the world was not flat! He set foot in Mactan in 1521, and with him he brought Christianity.

The same year, the occupants of what was then just a bunch of islands close together became Christians. The Spanish, our first colonizers, did what colonizers do, and Lapu-Lapu didn’t like that, like at all.

Lapu-Lapu and his men went to war with Magellan’s men then, with just their spears and bows. Lapu-Lapu was victorious! They had defended their land and defeated a Western conquerer, making him the first ever national hero.

PS. Most people believe Lapu-Lapu killed Magellan, but that’s not true, a warrior of his killed Magellan with a poisoned arrow to the right leg!

So i was looking into the canon romworld lore and, learning that spaceships cant do any warp speed travel bc they never developed it immediately had me thinking of mechi and his sister :(. Like, i'm just imagining the angst of mechi going home with kwahu, thinking its only been like 10 years and its actually been 100 or something bc cryosleep.... could definately be a reason why the two would go for the ideology or anomoly ending

Yeah, it would make for a very heartbreaking story if Yamka wasn't every bit as stubborn and reckless as her brother. She followed him all the way to the Rim and dragged their parents along as well. They're on the planet somewhere, but as Mechi and Kwahu aren't particularly inclined to build hotels for interaction with other factions, it may take us a long time to encounter them (if we ever do).

I'm sure Mechi imagines that their reunion will begin with a long-awaited hug, but Yamka is absolutely going to punch him first. She was not happy that he decided to go galavanting about the galaxy without her, and she'll probably be torn between yelling and crying when (if) they do meet again. Mechi will be suitably chastened, I'm sure. Maybe Kwahu, too, even though he technically never did anything wrong.

There was also this OC I made for another friend who was making an LN based off of FGO. They wanted to make a FGO character based on a country hero they knew, Lapu-Lapu from the Philippines but a female version of them. Definitely will be redoing this in the future. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the tattoo designs I made for her. All original by the way!

Lapu and Lupus, aids to Draco and Scorpio respectively. Lapu is also the muse of soul-searching, and Lapu a patron of the arts. Just like Draco and Scorpio, they are incomprehensively massive.

How do you think Mechi (and technically Kwahu’s?) parents would react to finding out about Kwahu? (Sorry if this has been answered before)

I think Lapu (dad) and Squashbug (mum) would be delighted with their new son. Lapu would act a bit more gruff and standoffish about it (where do you think Mechi gets it from?), but Squashbug would waste no time in catching up on all the affection she hasn't gotten to give her new baby.

I think Mechi would enjoy being able to use his "good twin" as a barrier to avoid having to actually talk to his parents. He doesn't like people, and so far, only siblings (and clones) are spared the wrath of the misanthrope trait.

Kwahu would love sitting down with his newly acquired parents to chat about all the things he knows about them from Mechi's borrowed memories. Maybe he'd introduce them to the Corrupted Obelisk, which is, for all intents and purposes, his only actual parent.

yes hes the (2nd) pyro dragon sovereign reincarnation but the process fucks up (similar to have neuvi was reincarnated in as a human) and ends up reincarnating as an illuminated beast (i have lore but its Complicated)
