How do I describe Aubrey Miller? Do I start with the version I knew first, the entity that decides that a paranoid, terrified man is their friend? Sometimes they save his life. Sometimes he turns on them, and the world crumbles.

Or maybe I start with the version I know best - or knew, rather, Adreya is now someone else entirely. But no. Adreya might have grown from Aubrey Miller, but Aubrey Miller wouldn't possess someone and force him to roleplay their dead ex. No, Aubrey Miller just ran off and deleted their entire identity when their first love died.

An entirely measured response, I'm sure.

But maybe I should be speaking from personal experience, here. After all, word-of-mouth is the most powerful form of marketing.

So let's go back a ways. (And please, forgive me for taking some creative liberties).

I first met Aubrey Miller on a cold, November evening. They were pleasant enough, on the face of it - polite, well, spoken, with a faint, inexplicable British accent. There were a few others around that night: Ara, a complete sweetheart with some memory issues; Shinsuke, a man who I can best describe as a know-it-all (but in the best way possible); Lauren (the actual irl person), who must be distinguished from Lauren (the dubiously irl person); and, of course, Aubrey and myself.

The conversation ebbed and flowed, as it does. And, eventually, it took a turn around a bend and wandered into discussing Mari, a close... friend of Ara's. And Aubrey was - well, the best way I can describe it was jealous.

And alright, maybe I noticed and asked a few pointed questions. Maybe I planted the conversational seed that eventually lead Ara to calling Mari up. Maybe I was warned, at great length and volume (thank you, Shinsuke).

Still. Whoever's fault it was, Mari decided to show up. And that's when the situation began to escalate.

I love Ara, don't get me wrong, but the girl is the most straightforward person I've ever met and has absolutely no filter. So of course she told Mari straight out that I thought Aubrey was jealous of it.

Here's the thing: Aubrey Miller is the type of person to use nicknames. Affectionate ones. Love, mostly. Cute things.

Here's the other thing. When you get it riled up, Mari is a possessive motherfucker.

That one little word - just a word! - tripped its way out of Aubrey's mouth, and Mari was immediately on high alert. So when Aubrey mentioned maybe spending more time with Ara, well.

I think the ensuing argument was maybe the politest catfight I've ever had the pleasure of witnessing. Mari told Ara that she didn't have to include Aubrey, because good friends respect each other's boundaries. Aubrey countered by asking how many friends Mari had to begin with.

And then Aubrey just had to rub it in my face and tell me that Mari was obviously the jealous one here.

Well. Mari didn't take kindly to that. It tried to get Ara and itself out of there, but Ara didn't understand and Aubrey just asked it if there was a reason it didn't want Ara talking to them.

Mari accused Aubrey of turning Ara against it. Aubrey accused Mari of getting angry just for being friendly. And, because I have a fondness for sticking my nose where it doesn't belong, I told them both to sit down and chill the fuck out for five minutes.

Aubrey sent me the sweetest piece of manipulation I've ever had the pleasure of laying my eyes on that night. Subtle. Tasteful:

"I'm sorry for getting a little snippy with Mari . . . its behavior was no excuse for me to act badly myself.

Maybe we can all calm down like Dusk suggested and start over from the beginning?"

Of course I called them out on it, what else was I supposed to do? The fault lay on both of them, not just on Mari, and Aubrey was trying to get me to agree with them. Of course, Aubrey didn't take kindly to this either, telling me that they couldn't stop me from believing that if I wanted to, and that they would go now.

I'll spare you the English essay, but suffice to say that I felt a bit like I'd stepped over a line, there. No-one had left that room happy, and I was at least a bit responsible. Maybe I had overreacted. Maybe I was the irrational one, here, reading too much in Aubrey's words.

It's not the best feeling in the world, guilt.

Here's the twist, if you were looking for one. Aubrey Miller isn't real. And while the persona I play online might not be real either, I most certainly am.

And I know Aubrey Miller's author.

And Aubrey Miller's author confirmed that that's what Aubrey Miller wanted me to feel.

So, if you're going to vote for someone today, consider casting for the character so skilled at plucking social threads that they could make a real-life human doubt their own words.

For ARAS Pioneer Teens 2023's first day, our teens were found by their symbols under the guidance of Aurelie Athan. Through the creation of collages, Aurelie helps locate a symbol in each collage that isn't the most obvious and visible one but the one that lurks throughout, mirroring dream work and plumbing the subconscious. The teens then walked over to @nyplpicturecollection to further explore their symbol through their magical collection of images. On our second day, we introduced teens to the difference between signs and symbols and then took them over to the Met to see Lauren Halsey's rooftop temple as well as the Egyptian Wing. The teens were then free to explore the Met on their own or in groups. For our third day, we introduced our Pioneer Teens to researching and navigating the ARAS Archive, helping them to use our archetypal card catalog and to peruse our collection of esoteric and rare publications on art, mythology and more. We then made our way to the Lower East Side to visit the New Museum's current exhibitions.

*Antalya Spor Salonu'nda saat 18:00'de başlayacak olan Kadınlar EuroCup Normal Sezon H Grubu ikinci maçı. Geçen hafta Bourges karşısında zorlu bir başlangıç yapan temsilcimiz bu kez Lüksemburg ekibi önünde siftahını arıyor. Başarılar takımımıza.

*FIBA YouTube kanalından naklen yayınlanacak olan maç.

*İlk periyotta konuk ekip 20-14 üstün. Lüksemburg temsilcisi etkili başladı ve tamamını önde oynadığı bu bölümde çift haneleri de gördü. Antalya bir ara iyi refleks sergilese de gerisi gelmedi.

*Devreyi 33-32 yenik bitirdik. Nispeten daha iyi bir oyun geldi temsilcimizden ve periyodu 6-0'lık seriyle noktalayarak maçı ortaya çektik.

*Üçüncü çeyreğin ardından Grengewald durumu 60-55 yaptı. İki tarafın da ürettiği bir çeyrek izledik. İlk kez üstünlüğü aldığımız anları da yaşadık ama bu kez onlar 6 sayı peş peşe bularak çeyreği bitirdi.

*74-73 kazanmayı başardı Antalya ve ilk galibiyetini elde etti. Müthiş bir son ve büyük heyecanın ardından gülen taraftayız. Tebrikler hepinize.
