We don't talk enough about the fact that Amelia Pond, s5 Amelia Pond, before the timeline is reset, isn't just a normal orphan. Her parents didn't die, didn't abandon her, and didn't send her away. They never existed in the first place.

And if her parents never existed, then Amelia cannot exist. She is a causal impossibility.

"People fall out of the world sometimes, but they always leave traces." A photograph. A face carved into an apple. Yes. Sure.

A child.

Now that's too big, surely.

But that's what she is. She is exactly the same as these things. A trace. An echo of something that could never be, never was, never could have been.

And the universe should never allow it. A whole person, that's just too much. She could not have continued to exist indefinitely, in normal circumstances, after her parents never existed.

In normal circumstances.

Because the Doctor didn't just save her from things coming out of the crack in her wall. He saved her from going into it. And he didn't just save her from the threat of going into it simply because of its vicinity.

No, by arriving when he did, he interrupted a process that was probably already in motion. And then by arriving again only moments later on a cosmic relative timestream (too quickly for the process to complete) and yet in the local relative timestream, years later --- years of a potential future caught midway through the process of rewriting -- he solidified that existence. Amy is a creature from another timeline, caught in amber. The Doctor prevented her from never existing, but only after she could already never exist.

And so, no one around Amelia thinks about it. Neither does she. There's some kind of consciousness block, because if you thought about it, really thought about it, for two seconds you'd realize she cannot exist. And the human mind can't deal with that. So, to protect itself, everyone's brain simply slides off it before ever noticing. They just assume that her existence makes sense, and don't question it, and don't notice what they don't question, that is staring them in the face.

But of course, to some extent they do notice. They can't think it, but they notice subconsciously that there's something they can't think. They notice there's something wrong with her, something uncanny. And they don't like it, and they alienate her even more because of it.

Hey, oh my god, when you sleep! When you sleep for the first time in 2 years or maybe 10 years? Who knows! But you get REM sleep for the first time. Oh my god. And you think about calling your friends, and you remember someone's anniversary, or you hangout with a friend who you haven't seen in a minute and you feel your soul settling back into yourself. "There you are. There I am." You say on an exhale. Relief, that a lot more things feel doable. Grief and compassion for when you could not be kind to yourself earlier. Curiosity for how you will build yourself again. Finally able to entertain joy and whimsy without fear of it not returning again.

Hey! I've had trouble sleeping for a very long time. To the point where I would wake up tired and be irritable all day. I would never know what social battery I had for something. I got a sleep study done and was able to get cpap machine and it has changed my life.

The first morning after sleeping with my cpap, I got out of bed so easily where in the previous MONTHS I struggled to get out of bed.

A cpap is life changing

I fly out in less than two days, and my heart is fair to bursting. I get to spend an entire week with Through, which is more time together than we’ve ever had before. We’ll have time away from work, time away from the kids; time to relax, to focus on each other, and to cultivate and strengthen our relationship in the same room instead of through the phone.

I cannot stress just how much we take for granted the ability to touch our person.

I Think There's Been a Glitch

GUYS I just realized sth crazy while watching this tiktok….I think the reason Taylor has red hair in so many mvs is bc it’s a play on the term RED HERRING. Red HAIR(RING). TTPD itself was a red herring and ends w the manuscript which is basically just the all too well short film (from RED TV) which she has red hair in. The glitches. Error 321. IT'S A CLOCK, IT CAN HELP YOU TELL TIME. She literally told us her entire plan all the way back in 2022. If the midnights vinyls make a clock that counts down to midnight then we’ve officially reached the “blood moon glitch” stage. I'm assuming 1, 2, 3 error/TPD (if you reverse the website glitch) was the moonstone vinyl so now we're at 4, 5, 6 the blood moon vinyl. The Jan 4 🫚 message tells us that we should be counting from 1-10 and not backward. And this means the final act ends in October AKA Halloween AKA pumpkin anon. "Frivolous, tenfold, 3 desires And until the clock strikes midnight Light the ground with fires." Seeing how each vinyl is a quarter of the clock and TTPD (the glitch/red blood moon/red herring) was released in April, I think it's safe to assume each quarter represents 1/4 of a year or 3 months. Which means 2025 or New Year's Day would be Midnight. So perhaps a kaylor reunion in Oct and an official coming out around Dec-Jan. This aligns w another interesting anon message we received abt New Year's Day being when an atomic bomb would go off (volcano anon?). So a very large part of the fandom can't forgive Cho for siding with her most faithful friend, Percy for wanting to run away to a place where he could get credit for his determination after he didn't get it from his family, and Lavender for being just plain miserable in love BUT they forgave Draco and James for being just pampered bullies because they "changed"? Come on.

I really like my headcanon that Steve’s parents are present, but they just happen to be gone whenever the kids or someone else in the party is around. Like maybe, Steve’s dad is fighting a giant scandal in his company, and his wife works with him, so she goes with him. Steve doesn't talk about his parents a whole lot because he's also keeping a secret for them. A secret only Robin knows. His parents are lavender married. His mom is a lesbian, and his dad is gay. His dad built his insurance company from the ground up to make sure everyone had the right to insurance, and as much as he doesn't like it, John Harrington has to save face for his clients and the people who work for him. Maggie, his wife, is his platonic soulmate and his rock, so their love is real. They have to keep up the appearance that they're straight for the asshole conservatives. Steve didn't always know, so he does everything to make sure that their secret is safe. I love Sean Robert Leonard and Stana Katic as his parents. . .in my head anyway. Anyone else is welcome to use all this as well.

some soft terrarium boys on this fine evening: Rain has trouble falling asleep. its not insomnia or anything he just finds it difficult sometimes to shut down his mind for sleep. thats why he spends most nights up late gaming, sometimes not crawling into bed (or falling asleep on the sofa) until the early hours of the morning. sometimes he just cant sleep until his eyes are starting to close by themselves and he's exhausted all possible energy he can. Dew and Mountain can both see how tiring this can get for the water ghoul though. the ever present dark circles under his eyes being even more prominent after he wakes up well past midday. and they miss him too. so when they can tell its going to be a difficult night for the water ghoul and that he really doesnt want to go through his usual motions they pull him into bed and cuddle him tight. with the earth ghoul emitting the soothing scents of lavender and chamomile, and the fire ghoul radiating a comforting warmth, he finds he quickly falls into the most restful sleep hes ever had. his quiet purrs join Mountain's deep rumble and Dews loud but crackly purrs.

A GUIDE THROUGH DANIEL BRÜHL'S FILMOGRAPHY

Now that I’ve gone through most of Daniel’s works, I thought this table might help those who are about to embark on the same obsessive journey I began months ago. I have no intention of spoiling anything, I’m only hoping this will provide someone a good idea of what to expect and help them in the selection process. Like, All Quiet on the Western Front is an excellent film but I wouldn’t want to watch that when I’ve had a really shitty day and I just need something light and dumb.

I do a 1 to 10 rating to make it as precise and objective as possible but know that some areas will be subject to my personal taste, factors like the mood I was in while watching it, and the oft-faulty machine that is my memory.

Before I get into the sections, let me quickly paint a picture of my personal taste. From Daniel’s works, my top 3 are Rush (2013), Goodbye Lenin! (2003), and Inglorious Basterds (2009). If we get into favorite films of all-time, it would include Parasite (2019), Before Sunrise (1995), When Harry Met Sally (1989), Atonement (2007), A Quiet Place (2018), Amélie (2001), The Dark Knight (2008), Arrival (2016), and Past Lives (2023). I’m always down for a dark comedy, an epic drama/romance, and a psychological thriller.

Now that's out of the way, onto the TABLE SECTIONS:

ROLE PROMINENCE – how much do you see of Daniel in this film? And, no, this has nothing to do with his ass—though that is always a welcome sight.

IMPORTANT – do we learn something from this movie? Are there interesting concepts being explored? Is it relevant? Does it carry a significant message, however obvious? Is it a career highlight for Daniel? These are the considerations for this category.

PAINFUL – are the themes dark and heavy? Is it stressful to watch? Is Daniel tortured into a pulp? Does it tug at your heartstrings? Is the movie deliberately cringey and embarrassing? This section covers a wide spectrum, so you must refer to the other sections to infer if it’s worth the pain. I have a high tolerance for violence and dark humor, what pains me is a plot that goes nowhere, a poor script, or a movie that wastes so much potential. How invested I am with the story and the characters also has a bearing on my rating. For instance, I feel zero empathy for Chris in Cargo because he's an idiot who had it coming.

WATCHABLE – does it hold your attention throughout? Is it enjoyable? Is it something you can watch over and over again? I have to stress that this section is sometimes influenced by my expectations of a movie and, often, by what I need in that moment.

ADDITIONAL NOTES – here I try to add factors that might have affected my viewing experience, further insight into my rating, and other vital (or not-so-vital) information.

p.s. didn't bother watching 2 Days in Paris and 2 Days in New York because I knew he only had a cameo in those.
