#last night i tied a ball to the end of one of her flirt pole type toys and she went bananas#until i accidentally launched the ball into the bedframe so hard it snapped in half. then she just layed down on the ground#it’s always wild to remember she’s technically a Senior Cat when i regularly watch her launch herself like 3 feet in the air after toys#i think she’s gonna get along so well with future puppy tbh. she adored my elderly bc mix when she was little#and when she discovers 1. the creature isn’t leaving and 2. she can play chase games with it? she’ll be smitten#漫言#arwen cat

I'm babysitting a Very Young Kitten, and I have long since forgotten the absolute joy that a tiny kitten brings me. She is a curious, teeny teeny, playful, chaotic tiny version of an adult menace. Having a pet that gets fed up with your shit and is very open about it is so funny
Our cat gets annoyed by us even just talking in the same room she's napping in and she'll get up, sigh HEAVILY, and leave the room for a few minutes. If we're still talking when she comes back, she gets back to her spot, sighs AGAIN, and just stares at you until you leave or she repeats the process
She was just now mad that I was standing within a few feet of (but not in any way blocking) her water bowl, talking to mom. Mind you she has another bowl on the other side of the room, but instead of going to that one or drinking from this one, she sighed heavily, went up on the bed, and glared at me until I left sgdgdggdgdgd shithead

found 3 of the cats' squiggle toys (the plastic ring from a frozen orange juice canister, tied into a knot) under a shelf. they LOVE those things.
2 immediately disappeared, probably back under the shelf, but Allen's been possessive of one of them. keeps asking me to throw it down the hall for him. okay!
but also the two of them will chase each other around bc they both want the squiggle. not okay. chill out.

everyone knows i like big cats like just as a literal they're little babies to me YEAH YEAH but i also love the like ... metaphorical way they appear in art as a subject and certain narratives especially when the lines are a bit blurred and there's something unsure about it. like a character who for all intents and purposes is a perfectly average incredibly human person who seems basically normal and then there is this fuck off big animal sitting directly behind them staring right at you and how the framing of this animal can change it from a monster stalking its prey to a caretaker protecting its charge to something being kept at bay for you the audiences protection to something being kept on an invisible leash I LOVE IT. i love it. this massive predator with superficial similarities to a house cat that could kill you but doesn't.
