house md/saw crossover where lawrence transfers to ppth and adam comes with, on-record as an orderly but really it's just that he and lawrence aren't doing so hot if they're separated for too long quite yet.
wilson and lawrence become easy work friends, obviously, and lawrence appreciates how easily wilson accommodates him without being pitying about it (adjusting his stride when they walk, tentatively asking about his foot not for the gory details of his trap but out of medical curiosity; aspects he's clearly picked up via being friends with house)
adam, naturally, turns out well-liked by a Lot of people bc like.... it's adam. he'll chat up patients, nurses, doctors..... if he can remember sometimes he'll take the time to sit with some patients who don't get many visitors because he's all too familiar with the feeling himself of being hospitalized and left to heal alone in a sterile room since no family nor friends found him worth seeing. he learns about house through befriending ducklings (kutner and thirteen are his pals for sure; kutner asks to see his photography, totally unfazed when adam jokes that his most recent stuff is stalker shots, and adam likes to flirt mostly unseriously at thirteen both as a compliment to her and so he can get a listen on her insane dry wit) (actually adam/thirteen would go crazy. there could be a whole subplot where ppl find out they hooked up but they're both super chill about it bc they were never aiming for being a Thing, they just wanted to check out sex with each other. and it was fine so it's not even a deal to either of them, let alone a big deal)
he's not happy to admit it but adam is a little terrified of house. just a bit. just based off the things he's heard from literally All Over the hospital. so when house corners him and demands to know what he's heard (he's annoyed bc adam can be slippery when he wants to be and house wanted to try to needle out jigsaw info on him; house is almost positive he could catch jigsaw before the cops could) adam is quick on the draw. "that you're funny as hell, scary as shit, and way smarter than me. hey, while you're staring me down like this, you wanna use your x-ray vision and see if i still have bullet fragments in my arm? i've been starting to think they missed some back at angel of mercy"
after that house seems to?? approve of him?? he's funny, he's got snark, he's got problems..... he ticks all the boxes for someone house would find himself befriending. adam is wary on returning the sentiment, too suspicious from all the conniving things he's been told house has done in the past, but he does take house up on the offer of destressing in his office if lawrence is busy/he's afraid of annoying him (recurring fear particularly at work) so. yea
i bring you the most niche thing ever: designs of characters in a play that is essentially lost media , but only partially because the only recording that survived is of two little idiots rapping eminem
i think, and this may just be my zekrom bias speaking, that if someone wants to experience the full value of bw's story it's better to play through white first. black has the issue of coming off as very dismissive towards plasma's legitimate and well-founded claims that pokemon abuse DOES occur (and it does! from the kanto games' marowak to bw2's liepard there's instances where it's put in the spotlight, so it certainly does happen)... by assigning the protagonist to truth, it feels pretty evident that n's beliefs are "wrong", and the game just seems to brush any questioning aside.
on the other hand, white giving n the hero of truth role means we're basically forced to think about what that means for the relationship of people and pokemon at large. to translate a point n makes in chargestone cave: if you allow people to coexist with pokemon, even if the majority of trainers treat them well, there will always be someone somewhere out there who abuses or neglects them instead. are we okay with that? should those pokemon still be allowed to suffer, just because what they experience is an outlier to the general rule? while not outright stated, zekrom's association with hope and the strive for the ideal suggests that we don't brush off these facts, but instead take them into consideration, and aim to change the world based off of them... like how in bw2 society in unova puts a lot more emphasis on the bond between people and pokemon, and on pokemon as equals (see: iris's dialogue before entering your team info the hall of fame).
i think black version has its own unique avenues to explore, but on the surface level, it's a much more cut and dry, "no, you're just wrong", type of story that kind of makes you work harder to fit it into bw's overall theming of "the world's not black and white, there's not a singular objective right or wrong perspective."
i dunno man aerin frankel played closer to double the amount of time any other goalie did, had the second highest save % of all the goalies, and faced more than double the number of shots of any goalie
Okay that's actually a little bit cool. My highest ranking ever in the SoundClick charts was #53 with "Dawn and Catastrophe", whose production was a lot better, so I'm honestly impressed that my scrappy bedroom demo of "Seven" made it into the top 100 this week. I'm not sure how many artists I'm competing against there – I scrolled down to try to reach the end of the Acoustic chart, but gave up once I got past about #900 or so.
To be fair, probably many of those songs rank lower because they don't have any listens at all, I imagine. I don't have that many listens myself. But at least I've got a few fans who do regularly support me by listening and sharing, and that means a lot <3
Seven
Seven years to go
Seven, that’s what they told me
My brother, I write letters
But I’m scared I might run out of words
Seven flights of stairs
I run to the top, but you’re not there anymore
My brother, why’d you have to go?
There’s got to be more, a reason, I don’t know
I try to piece together the story
From the clippings on the floor
Did you do it for the glory
Or for the war?
You used to say that they could never force us out
Never break apart our family, there’s no doubt
They wouldn’t have a leg to stand on
You said with that laughing smile
But now our home stands empty
They didn’t even want to fill it!
So what for? I hope you did it for the war
Seven stories high
Seven broken windows reveal the steel sky
Why’d you do it? Were you trying to take a stand?
Protect your people, both feet on borrowed land
Seven empty floors
No hearts beating behind these doors
No one sheltering below that hallowed roof
Did you do it for the truth?
with the sudden quiet changes to the VAs that rocket studio has been making to hsr and recent hiring decisions, ngl I'm like. kinda worried about how the rest of the game will go.
idk if it's strike related or wanting to go a different direction or wanting to match the other language versions or what, but having 2 beloved VAs (Courtney Lin and Adam Gold) quietly replaced in less than a month kinda makes me raise an eyebrow. I'm sure it's nothing sinister going on behind the scenes and it's probably something mundane, I'm not gonna speculate or make assumptions. but it certainly makes me a bit skeptical of the recording studio for the English version....
and ik that I can change the audio versions, but there are some I strongly prefer in the English audio. plus the VAs themselves are wonderful people (minus that one casting decision) and idk, it's more comforting to hear them in EN.
me when i decide to learn a cruel angels thesis by ear and play it by memory (as a duet) instead of actually working on practicing my actual songs or composing my actual composition:
ok but in all honesty this recording is pretty embarrassing bc the timing is off. i was playing it on an actual piano but recording each of the four hands separately but i wasn't able to use a metronome bc the recording would pick it up so the different hands don't match up with the beat. which is. so embarrassing. i promise when i'm actually just playing piano i can't play it normally
also please understand this is not like a serious thing. this was just figure or the melody figure out the chord progression then fill it in with simple arpeggios/inversions/etc. my actual piano level is much higher than that. and when i finish an actual piece i'm serious about it's much more practiced and the dynamics/expression/etc (and timing lol) is much better. this was just a silly little thing
interesting.... setlist.com says esphere were performing A Car Ride in Idealistic Ethiopia live as far back as march 2001!! that song wasnt officially released until october 2003!!! also it always led into Musicawi Silt (cover of an ethiopian funk song)
