The Day when Valjean and Cosette saw the convicts was probably the 15th October, 1831.
In the Brick, there were only the month and the year of the day when Cosette and Valjean saw the chained convicts in a row(October of 1831) but I found out the interesting fact.
According to the French Wikipedia, there was a mention that on the 16th of October in 1831, Louis Philippe moved out of the Palais-Royal and moved in Palais des Tuileries. And, in the Brick, on the next day of that 'tragic' day, there was some official solemnity apropos like fetes in Paris, a review in the Champ de Mars, jousts on the Seine, theatrical performances in the Champs-Elysees, fireworks at the Arc de l'Etoile. And you probably know what does this mean; to celebrate the king moving to new palace, the events would follow.
So, the day when Valjean wore the National Guards uniform and joined the festival with Cosette(And the day when Marius saw him in uniform.) was the 16th of the October, and the day they saw the convicts would be the 15th October, 1831. And, have you any other ideas about this or the actual recording of those events?

Okay yall so I'm listening to Arsene Lupin vs Sherlock Holmes and--
Just listened to the funniest moment so far
I'm dead
Arsene: I love living on the edge!! The danger, the constant control I must keep under--
Narrator Friend: but Arsene aren't you worried about Sherlock Holmes???
Arsene: nah, I've got the advantage!! He's attacking, and all I've gotta do is defend. He doesn't even know how I work-- [starts choking on food]
Friend: bro you okay?????
Arsene: WHY IS HE HERE
Sherlock Holmes, having just entered the restaurant and is sitting down for a nice lunch:
Arsene: OH MY GOD
Arsene:
Arsene: Imma talk to him
Friend: NO

Every Autistic+ADHD person should have a Public Domain character as their special interest. It is so great.
You can go hog wild collecting books, movies, adaptions, and sharing all of your Public Domain finds freely.
You can write your own fanfiction and *its not even fanfiction its just its own canon.*
You can make your own custom covers and print your own custom versions of the books.
You can freely rewrite the books and publish them if you want.
You can change a character's pronouns and make them queer as much as you want.
You can make as much art and AUs as you want and you could literally make them their own published series if you wanted.
You can know the joy of receiving a 96 year old book in the mail in a language you can't even read yet but know that you can scan it and upload it to the Internet Archive because it is Public Domain and being able to see the original text is going to make someone's entire week.
You can start learning a new language just to be able to read the original works from a hundred years ago in their native tongue.
You can feel the Hatred of Disney for the Mickey Mouse Protection Act meaning the USA is one of the only countries in the world that doesn't have the entire series of books that are your special interest in the Public Domain which they should have been over a decade ago , but now at least you have something to look forward to on January 1st for the next decade, give or take a few gaps years of nothing entering the Public Domain!
This is about Arsene Lupin by Maurice Leblanc, first published in 1905 through to 1941, but I would *love* to hear about everyone's Public Domain blorbos in the notes lol.

*grabs the mic* ok sit down i have stuff to say. (collection of brain farts below)
Clarifying beforehand that I am a Himejoshi first, person second, but I do find it really intriguing how most of the m/f league ships are more interesting than the slash ones. Which is a bit weird since, like most queer people, I tend to gravitate to. well. queer representation and subtext in media. Rakan/Xayah, Leblanc/Swain, Lucian/Senna, Ashe/Tryndamere, Garen/Katarina, Ahri/Yasuo, etc. have much more concise and compelling dynamics than half of the m/m ships in League.
And, of course, there’s commentary to be made. Het ships get to be explored better and more often than queer ones, so it’s not rocket science to see *why* they tend to have better dynamics. Buuut it still doesn't explain why most of the league yuri prevails over yaoi when it comes to intricacies and overall quality (taking for reference some like Neeko/Nidalee, Caitlyn/Vi, Diana/Leona, Kai'Sa/Taliyah, Scratch/Seraphine, Irelia/Liana, etc.). All the while, I can think of maybe 5 yaoi ships, at least a little canonically sourced, that have as many nuances, diversity, and conciseness.
Another point to be added is that even if the fandom gets more diverse with each passing year, a huge part of the player base is still toxic incels, to whom is inconceivable to see queer men in media because it threatens their pre-conceived notions of masculinity and what a relationship should even look like. So it becomes uncomfortable to see gay dudes in the silly video game!
Wlw relationships get to be better explored in lore because 1) it’s possible to at the same time drive a queer narrative and, with minor adjustments, turn it palpable to that same toxic player base’s consumption through fetishization, and 2) i feel like there’s a higher suspense of disbelief in society as a whole to disregard sapphic relationships as sisterly or platonic love (see the discourse that often surrounds the lesbian ships mentioned above).
And this is in no way meant to say “wlw have it better”, bad/silent representation is just as bad or arguably worse than nothing. It's just interesting to try to reason as to why League is less afraid of developing good and concise sapphic relationships while resorting to bland shit with achillean ones.
*het was used generally, i knooooow m/f ships can also be queer
*this is mostly if not entirely just my personal opinion masqueraded as food for thought
*feel free to reblog with your thoughts! just be polite please
