Why do people talk about G2 like. "Ofc they're going to be good it's G2", when they're not the G2 people mean when they say that? Like yes literally they are G2, but the thing which is meant by "G2" in that context... no, they aren't "G2", why should current G2 get credit for "G2"'s actions.

Milestone Monday

On this day, November 20, 1820, an 80-ton sperm whale rammed and sank the Essex whaling ship in the South Pacific inspiring Herman Melville (1819-1891) to write his legendary novel Moby Dick.

The Essex set sail from Nantucket in August of 1819 with a 21-man crew in search of dwindling sperm whales. Over a year into their voyage, their captain decided to head further off the coast of the Galapagos than usual, finding themselves more than 1,500 nautical miles from the nearest shore. The bet paid off when the Essex came upon a pod of whales and set out in three whaleboats to harpoon them.

While they were away, their luck quickly changed when a monstrously sized sperm whale began ramming and ultimately capsized the Essex. Initially, all members of the crew survived the wreck and equipped their whaleboats with sails to head for land, however perilous weather and sparse rations soon took their toll. Within months, crew members were dying and left their companions to turn to cannibalism to survive. Ultimately, five men of the Essex were rescued by passing ships and lived to tell their tale. 

To mark the fate of the Essex we are looking at The Limited Editions Club (LEC) 1943 publication of Moby Dick; or The Whale presented in two volumes with illustrations by Boardman Robinson (1876-1952). Melville’s story of Captain Ahab and the great white whale is accentuated by Robinson’s muddy paintings that emulate the churning ocean adding foreboding layers throughout the book. Of the thirty-two paintings Robinson created for Moby Dick; or The Whale, eight are reproduced in full color with the other twenty-four reproduced “through an ingenious combination of the silk-screen process, offset lithography and varnish.” The volumes were printed by E.L. Hildreth and Co., bound in full sheepskin leather dyed to stimulate whale hides, and stamped in gold. 

Our copy of Moby Dick; or The Whale is number 289 from the collection of long-standing LEC member Austin Fredric Lutter of Waukesha, Wisconsin and is signed by the illustrator.

I say this as someone who does find the D*rkling and Alina’s relationship interesting: a disturbing amount of D*rklina’s are incredibly susceptible to joining a cult

one of jude and hannibals interactions includes: hannibal snatchin them up off the street to scare them (bc haha murdocs 'friend'); almost feels bad but reels when they almost vomit in his car out of nervousness. he drops them off at home and says sumn like 'murdoc told me to pick you up' before burning rubber.

they still see the other on occasion but jude books it or hides as soon as they see him. and constantly jumpy after the whole thing.

as they got older, murdoc takes jude to get their hair chopped - asking hannibal to get his guy, less questioning than murdoc expects but doesnt make a huge deal out of it.

hannibal is just like murdoc and sebastian where they'll never verbally apologize (or its rare/insincere/for something offhanded or small) his way of saying 'water under the bridge' whether jude takes it that way, he doesnt care. his conscience is cleared/he doesnt owe them anything now.

I just don't like hearing casters talk about G2. So much is said about them and I just don't care. I also don't want to be reminded when a team of players I like, or at least don't dislike, play for an org I hate. Like no I don't want these 5 sweet lil guys to win if that means G2 wins, and the other team is also players I like. Then there's the "Oh I wonder which of these 5 are going to have their careers fucked up next? Is Hans gonna be shipped back to NA? Is BB going to be in Prime League next year?

Nah, they can talk about the players indivdually if they want but giving air time to the G2 brand? Fuck that.

Also why are all the LEC casters G2 fans, they've had the close up on players getting fucked over for 6 years now and somehow G2 remains the cast favourite... Nah. Not ok with me fuck all of 'em, call this shit out. Goddamn it
