Some extremely random thoughts I had while watching the 19th Episode of Sandglass/모래시계

I remember in the first or so episode of "With Dad And Me", Lee Seung-yeon went like "yeah me and Minsoo oppa had a love line on Moraeshigye"

girl... no? Reporter Shin had a crush on Wooseok, asked him to marry her and he said no because he's alread in love with Sunyoung. Her and Taesoo only have this, like, "business" relationship. And even if she had a crush on Taesoo it wouldn't have worked out - he was still in love with Hyerin. Well... I don't see no love line nowhere, girlie. The fact that you had the guts to say that... on TV... in front of Aunty June??? naahhh. ABSOLUTELY FOUL.

최근쯤 "아빠하고 나하고"라는 방송에서 이승연 나오고 "모래시계에서 저하고 민수오빠가 러브라인이 있었는데요~"그랬는데….

응 아니예용~ 러브라인 상대가 태수 아니고 우석이었어요. 신기자(이승연 맡았던 역할)가 강우석을 짝사랑하는 중이었고 사귀자(결혼하자)고 했더니 우석이가 이미 선영이를 사랑하고 있으니까 안된다고 했어요. 태수랑 사이는 비지니스일뿐이었고 짝사랑을 했었어도 그거는 이뤄질 수 없던 사이였어요 - 태수도 아직 혜린이를 사랑하고 있었으니까.

뭘봐도 러브라인이 아닌데… 러브라인이 있었다고 … 방송에서…. 그것도 주은이모 옆에 앉아서 … 그렇게 당당하게 말을 하는 것… 생각보다 어이없음 ㅋㅋㅋ

Also, Choi Min-soo looks so GIANT in front of Lee Seung-yeon. Idk if it's his vibe or because of the shoulder pads but, HE LITERALLY TOWERS over her despite them being almost the same height. Meanwhile, him and Go Hyun-jung always look like they 're the same height while he actually towers over her IRL. Damn. CINEMATOGRAPHY IS CINEMATOGRAPHY-ING

드라마에서 최민수는 이승연 앞에 서있으면 정말 거인처럼 보여요. 아우라인지 재킷에 달린 어깨 패드 때문인지는 모르겠지만, 눌이 거의 같은 키임에도 정말 어른앞에 어린이가 있는 것처럼 보인데.... 또 한편 최민수는 고현정보다 실제로는 훨씬 더 키 큰데도 같이 씬을 찍으면 항상 같은 키로 보인다. 역쉬 전설의 연출....

Comparable to: My Father Is Strange (kdrama) ; My Golden Life (kdrama) ;

This kdrama was just only kinda ‘meh’. It started off not that bad with a decent sorta storyline. Since this was one of those family dramas with a 100 episodes it has several subplots mostly romance storylines for each family member. Unfortunately towards the middle half it starts dragging a lot where it gets tangled up going around in circles a lot. 🤷‍♀️ I really can’t say it’s among my favorites for a family kdrama genre that’s not to say this isn’t watchable, just again a bit of ‘meh’ like.

I'm liking the chemistry between the actors so I'm definitely looking forward to watching the show

Mini-review:

Look, I'm not gonna lie. I started this drama for a very superficial reason: Kim Yoo Jung and Song Kang are one of the most gorgeous couples I've ever seen. And tbh, that's one of the things that kept me watching until the end. The first half was pretty fun, thanks to their will-they-won't-they dynamic and some really funny supporting characters and recurring gags. Unfortunately, it began to drag around the middle part, and then it got more and more boring with each passing episode. By the time the final episode came out, I no longer cared about the plot, the characters or anything else (although the ending itself was quite nice). With all that in mind, I can't help but think My Demon would have worked much better as a movie.
