RWBY die-hards are so funny tbh. They spent the past five years deliberately and vehemently gatekeeping the fndm to a ridiculously high degree, doing things like gloating that they were "purging" the fndm of all but the show's most ardent worshipers, launching vicious smear campaigns against anyone and everyone who said even the mildest bit of criticism and slinging baseless accusations of "sexism" and "homophobia" against them (even though an overwhelming majority of their targets have been queer or women or both, while an overwhelming majority of RWBY's creative team have been straight men with histories of open misogyny and queerphobia) they've bullied fan-artists off every platform, they've sent hate mail, death threats, rape threats, slurs, they've literally posted long lists of "rules" they expect fans to follow "or else" (and the rules include things like "you must fiercely advocate for my favorite ship" and "you must love my favorite characters and hate my least favorites" and "No AU's or Fix-it fics allowed" and then if anyone is caught breaking these "rules" they get labeled as "the HTDM" and viciously smeared and bullied out of the fndm, they've deliberately sought out popular fanworks and started viciously smearing and harassing the fan creators while gloating "if you criticize the product sold by a corporation, we get to coordinate cyberbullying campaigns against you as an individual artist who makes fanart for free, because those are totally the same thing in our minds so you deserve it!!!" They've swarmed YouTubers like penguinz0 or Hbomberguy and harassed them with death threats and accused them of "trying to kill rwby" (as if it couldn't possibly have anything to do with 1. Rooster Teeth being a horrifically abusive and bigoted company that every decent person decided to stop supporting, 2. "CRWBY" being comprised of and run by Rooster Teeth bigwigs including four of the five founding fathers of the company and several department heads, many of whom have open histories of extreme bigotry themselves, which bled into the show and caused extreme bigotry to be baked into the writing itself, and 3. *this exact fandom*, all of which together are enough of a poison itself, to the point where having a couple of youtubers say "so this isn't a good mix" was never going to actually affect viewership NEARLY as much as the Corporation and Fandom were already doing) and also can we talk about the horrific amounts of biphobia that gets leveled against the people who ship Blake with literally ANYONE other than Yang and ship Yang with literally ANYONE other than Yang?? Because my god the biphobia that exists within the Die-Hards in this fandom is off the fucking charts. The amount of specifically bisexual fans who have been viciously attacked because they did not list bumblby among all the queer ships they liked. The amount of times I've seen people say things like "the only reason anyone likes BlackSun is if they're homophobic" when a lot of BlackSun shippers are openly bi and ship them as a bi-for-bi ship. The amount of times I've seen people say things like "the only reason anyone PRETENDS to like Freezerburn is if they're trying to shove Yang with a random girl so they can force Blake to date a stinky MAN while using Yang and Weiss as shields to protect themselves from being caught as the homophobes they really are." The amount of times I've seen people attack fans who ship Blake with Ilia or Ruby or Nora, or fans who ship Yang with Pyrrha or Neon or Nora, because it *does not matter* if you actively ship a hundred queer rwby ships and write hundreds of fics about it and draw endless fanart of it, if you say "eh I personally just don’t care for Blake X Yang" or even if you say "I used to be a hard-core bumblby shipper but the way the writers chose to execute it left a lot to be desired and turned me off the ship" you get labeled a "Sexist Homophobe" and violently abused and bullied. It's fucking disgraceful, it's NO WONDER this fandom is fucking dead
When a fandom: a) posts strict rules detailing exactly which interpretations, headcanons, character opinions, and ships are REQUIRED in order to be considered "not a hater," b) viciously attacks and harasses every single person on the internet who does not follow those strict rules and labels them a "hater" because of it, c) slings baseless and despicable accusations of "sexism" and "homophobia" against these so-called "haters," because apparently they're too ignorant to pick up a dictionary and learn that "criticizing rwby" is not included in the definition of those words, while also completely ignoring or even *denying* the fact that most of their targets are queer women and most of our complaints are that *rwby is textbook sexist and homophobic and RACIST AND ABLEIST and was created and almost entirely written by openly sexist and homophobic and racist and ableist men, and you actually kind of have to have failed Progressivism 101 in order to not see it,* d) engages in open bigotry themselves by attacking marginalized people to punish them for condemning bigotry while using bigoted slurs and dogwhistles against them, and e) deliberately "purges" the fandom of every single fanartist, fanfic writer, theorist, meta analyst poster, or even shit-poster who DARED to express an opinion that didn't conform to the "rules" and therefore got labeled a "bigoted hater" who "laid down with the dogs" and was "guilty by association..."
The fandom dwindles away to nothing, and dies
And then the last remaining Die-Hards who got their wish and "purged" the fandom of everybody whose opinions did not 100% align with theirs, get all pissy whenever they see somebody like you acknowledge the empty void left behind
The fandom got so militant and zealous with their gatekeeping that there's just nobody left anymore, except for the few who turned Worshiping RWBY into a cult and violently kicked out everyone who didn't conform - but they consider that to be a "victory" so they attack every new straggler who walks into the vast empty field and says "there used to be a fandom here."
That post that was made five years ago about how it was time for the mega-stans to "purge the fndm" of everyone who didn't conform to THEIR view of the show? Yeah lol well they succeeded and I hope they're happy with their echo-chamber of circle-jerking Yes-Men who have been throwing all their hard-earned money at bigots and abusers while crying about the uncertain future of the show they turned into their identity, and I hope one day they realize that THEY contributed to Rooster Teeth's downfall far more than the critics ever did
Because fandom has historically thrived on diversity of opinion, including the allowance of criticism and the celebration of fanworks
So when a culty subsection of the fandom decrees that freedom of expression is WRONG and differing opinions are WRONG and writing fanfiction they don't like is WRONG and drawing fanart they don't like is WRONG and shipping ships they don't like is WRONG and not shipping the ships they do like is WRONG and liking characters they dislike is WRONG and disliking the characters they do like is WRONG and criticizing the corporation behind the product is WRONG and holding the product creators accountable for their hateful and ignorant beliefs is WRONG and choosing to withhold our money from those who have been proven to be abusive bigots is WRONG and therefore demanding change instead of letting them keep getting away with everything is WRONG, and so they are so totally justified in their efforts to deliberately cyberstalk, harass, and bully the "Arrogant, Entitled, Ungrateful" non-conformists until they've driven everybody away...
The fandom dies
And there's nobody left to BUY THE PRODUCT
*shocked Pikachu face* that RT went belly-up???
The Die-Hard Mega-Stans are the ones that killed RWBY. That's why they're so desperate to point fingers and bitterly curse the names of all the fans they deliberately ORDERED to "Stop Watching," "Stop Posting," "Stop talking," "Stop Writing," "Stop Drawing," "Stop BUYING," and that's why they're so fucking ANGRY every time they see proof that their mass gatekeeping, mass cyberbullying, mass smearing campaigns WORKED.
The fandom is dead because they fucking drowned it on purpose, and they refuse to admit that fact to themselves
What else can they do but lash out?
What else is there to say? You nailed it. I was there in the very beginning when the fandom was thriving and I watched the wasps slowly kill it. I remember all the creative au’s and how even rarepairs got content. It’s not even a husk of its former self, it’s crumbled dust.

"Spock, Messiah!" review
Tumblr media
This novel was written in 1976 by Theodore Cogswell and Charles Spano. The Enterprise crew is experimenting with some new brain implants, that are each attuned to one native of the planet Kyros, to acquire the same knowledge, personality and behaviour of the alien, and thus mingle better with them to study the Kyrosian culture. But everything backfires horribly when Spock gets the personality of a madman with messianic aspirations, and becomes the planet's tyrant.
The best thing of this book is that UK cover above, with fabulous Spock. Do not read this book under any circumstances. No, really, it's pretty bad, and Spock is barely in it. Though the novel has a few saving graces so I'll begin with those:
The Good: The story is entertaining enough, with a clever twist at the end. And even if the concept of having Spock as the villain or under some sort of mind control is nothing new, at least the Klingons aren't behind it for a change.
The culture of the Kyrosians is well developed and vividly described. As well as the intricacies of Federation's technology, if you're into that (I'm not, so I can't tell if the science is sound or not). Descriptions are too detailed for my taste, but your mileage may vary. Anyway, the action and danger keep things interesting.
Also Kirk is a history nerd.
The Bad: The authors don't seem to know or understand the characters. Scotty has red hair (?????). I guess because they wanted him to be as stereotypically Scottish as possible. Kirk refers to Spock as a living computer all the time, which is something that only McCoy would do, and only in jest. And in general, characters aren't... in-character.
The brain implant would have been a good idea to behave as a native and respect the Prime Directive, if the natives had at least been notified and agreed to it. As it is in the book, it's a flagrant violation of privacy. The Enterprise crewmembers are tapping into the aliens' emotions, memories and behaviours with no consent at all. Good job, Starfleet.
There's also some crap about Vulcans. Supposedly, Vulcans are biologically unable to feel emotions (no, they don't, it's just they're good at supressing them) and also have zero sexual urges outside pon farr (yeah, tell that to Amanda).
Which reminds me, the horniness level of this novel is absolutely off the charts. I don't think even the TMP novelization comes close. We have Kirk in the shower, feeling water massaging his "taut, muscular body". Though that's more or less in line for Kirk. But then we also have lurid descriptions of Spock having sex with a woman (non-consensual on Spock's side of course). A female ensign jumping naked to swim in a lake for absolutely no reason, or doing a full striptease before a horde of dangerous, hostile warriors. Chekov, naked from waist down, getting a hipo-spray in his ass right in the Transporter room, in front of everyone (okay, this was funny, but couldn't it wait for sickbay?). As well as the implication that Chekov got a cavity search from some guards. Yeah, I know the original show addressed sexual issues sometimes, but it was never this crass. This stuff is fine for adult fics, but here feels out of place.
All this would be somehow understandable if the writers had never seen Star Trek and were just doing a job. But it's obvious from references to other episodes that they've actually seen it. It's just they didn't understand shit.
The Awful: Almost every time Uhura or Sulu appear, they're referred to as "the black woman" or "the Oriental". Anyone who has seen five minutes of the series knows that Uhura is black and Sulu is asian, but reminding the reader of this fact all the time, kind of defeats the reason why Roddenberry wanted them on the bridge in the first place. Anyway, since Uhura and Sulu barely appear in the story, racism doesn't escalate beyond that. But then there's...
Ensign George. A female crewmember who is used to exemplify rampant sexism and misogyny galore. And since she's a regular character, there's plenty of opportunities for that. Every five pages or so, she loses her clothes, or is scantily clothed, or being harassed by leering men (including McCoy and Chekov). All of this, however, is fine since she's really slutty (actually not, she's being influenced by another person's mind). The writers run out of adjectives for her body: "sensous, voluptous, delicious". At one point, she literally says that it was "her fault" that Chekov got into a fight to protect her from a sexual assault (it would have been more noble for Chekov if he wasn't also harassing her two minutes earlier).
And how did Ensign George end up a regular in the story? She's interested in Spock, but as her real self is quite shy, she links herself to a seductive Kyrosian to get her abilities. Their personalities are too opposite though, so she loses control and ends up having sex with Spock. The incident leaves her ashamed and traumatized. What would the sensible thing to do? Remove her implant immediately and restore her to her normal self, right? Well, no. Let's leave it in her, so she can be used by Kirk and co. as sex object to bargain with the natives, should the need arise. The real Kirk would NEVER, you bastards!
Did I also mention that Kirk uses counterfeit money to reinstate a Kyrosian doctor in his clinic, after such doctor was expelled for drinking and abusing young women? Yeah...
If anyone thinks the original TOS was sexist, just compare notes with this novel. And remember, this book came ten years later. For my part, Cogswell & Spano can stick their writing up there where Chekov got the hypo-spray.
Spirk Meter: 1/10*. Kirk seems annoyed about women finding Spock attractive, and the one thing he can't believe is that Spock slept with one. Messiah Spock may be planning a war and conquest on a planet, that's possible, but this one thing has to be "an hallucination, as impossible as Spock flying". Kirk also sighs his name the first time their eyes meet, after being turned into the Messiah. However, most of the time, Spock is treated just as an enemy to defeat, and Kirk even coldly suggests killing him if necessary.
On the other hand, one has to wonder what's going on between Kirk and McCoy. The doctor is described as Kirk's only friend aboard (everyone hates Spock in this book), and the only one around whom Kirk can be emotional. The two of them spend a lot of time drinking alone in Kirk's quarters. The doctor enters uninvited while Kirk sleeps and wakes him with coffee. And he seemingly stays there while Kirk strips to enter the shower.
There's also a little bit, about McCoy being afraid of showing his "true feelings" for Spock.
*A 10 in this scale is the most obvious spirk moments in TOS. Think of the back massage, "You make me believe in miracles", or "Amok Time" for example.

These guys are deep in the coping mechanisms now. It’s funny to see them say things like “men spend the most money on games so they have no choice but to target the male fanbase” when we have seen in real time the huge crash in Limbus Company DAU, MAU and gacha banner earnings since the majority of female fans left in late July. I don’t think it has ever made it back to its previous peak earning months. By their own admission these incels said Genshin Impact is targeting women with both the female and male characters recently released, and the game is making more money than ever. It always tops pure fanservice games like Nikke that pander to men only with their all-female roster of highly sexualized women and gameplay that involves staring at their asses. They are shocked at the amount of women that showed up at a Genshin event in Japan but basically consider them “not REAL fans” like themselves, men who constantly complain and shit themselves over seeing hands in repose 🤏 and spend $11,000 on the world’s most pathetic balloon.
We can also see here the unbelievable level of cope where they truly believe even if women are paying for live events, gacha and merch that it isn’t their money, it’s the money of their boyfriend/dad/male in their life anyway. In their closed off misogynist community they have an excuse for everything so that the world lines up with their backwards ideology. Half of the game’s players are women? Whatever, they only care about consuming products unlike men who actually care about the game. The game is suspected of hiring a feminist and won’t apologize? Whatever it’s for women anyway. It’s always topping gacha earning charts? Whatever, the money women spend is from their boyfriends anyway. I’m not even joking it’s like seeing a cult in action brainwashing themselves, but instead of Lord Xenu or whatever they worship at the altar of misogyny.

This an account with a lot of people but also like..this is a message that probably should be talked so I feel comfortable enough talking about it off anon but one of your posts did resonate with me.
But. (Forgive me this is gonna be long).
As a community, we are still not immune to the binary yet it seems. There’s still internal misogyny and still misandry that we need to work through. We still assign others roles like “tops” and “bottoms” being heavily gendered as masculine and feminine. Or the birthday boy stuff. The “I hate men why would you want to transition into the abusive gender” bullshit or choosing to say that a an afab nonbinary person is less valid for presenting at the sex they were assigned at birth nevermind the fact that some people cannot afford gender validating clothes or top surgery or sometimes fucking nothing. Sometimes we own fucking nothing. Some people are immune to anesthetic, some people can have hemophilia or bloods disorders and can bleed to death on the surgery table. Some CANNOT for religious reasons have surgery. Some people are fucking kids and can’t have the surgery there are extenuating circumstances for why a person “fully” transition even if they want to. Why should that make anyone less of a man, woman, or whatever you want to be??? God the bullshitomitor is beeping, almost screaming from the off the charts levels of stupidity.
Or what’s going on during twitter with the birthday boy stuff and the TME stuff you had me confused over. Like I’m still processing how one trans issue may weigh more heavily then another when we’re all fighting the same fights. When your drowning, ten feet of water or two feet shouldn’t matter; you’re still fucking drowning.
If we keep this up, the feds won’t even have to do anything we’ll just tear each other apart on our own with the ourobourosian monkey poop tossing fights that we have every year or two. Nothing good or enlightening ever comes from these fights either. More people die, more go missing and more legislation is passed.
We fight > we die > nothing ever good happens because we just keep fighting.
I have no words for this, you said exactly what needed to be said

ok look, I have my own issues with the Mean Girls musical like the product placement, the songs sounding incredibly weird (truthfully i think that has to do with the actress for Cady not being the right fit (mostly her not having the right voice range or lung support for the songs) and they had to adjust her songs cause of this and had to do the same with the rest of the soundtrack so there's not whiplash switching from song to song if that makes sense. but this is in no case a stab at the actress, the songs in Mean Girls are NUTORIOUSLY difficult to sing as it is, and Ranee Rapp sounds good is cause she's already held this role on Broadway before, she has experience.), some of the camera shots being Incredibly weird (I'm gonna let the Revenge Party scene speak for itself on that one). but we are NOT even for a SECOND about to start saying "Mean Girls 2 is better" cause I'll take the obnoxious brand placement before "Do I look like most girls?" ANY DAY. Cause Mean Girls 2 feels like a bad Dcom movie, and I mean Princess Protection Program levels of BAD. The characters are incredibly bland, Jo has Insane levels of internal misogyny its off the charts, the movie loses the entire Point of what Mean Girls was originally about (as in there's No room for subtlety, it feels like they treat their audience as dumb girls like you can't make them think too hard about nuance but at the same time it tries to make a message of girls are just as good as boys etc.), like I could go on and on and on about WHY that movie is so bad even in comparison to the musical.

Barbie. Dir Greta Gerwig. 2023
Barbieland contains all the child-like fun and vibrancy of Barbie but meets the uncertainty and uncomfortableness of the Real World. Told from the perspective of a women, this accessible film discusses misogyny, humanity, toxic masculinity and identity through the brilliance and sparkle of the world of Barbie.
The film follows Barbie (Margot Robbie) as she goes on a quest to save herself from becoming anything less than perfect, after her human (an intelligent mother who used to play with this Barbie) starts to affect this doll with her existential anxiety.
The film could’ve easily lost any of its feeling as the aesthetics are off-the-chart pink, fantastical and almost dream-like. Musical dance numbers are placed throughout the film, which bring excitement and energy but could’ve also added to the film’s shallowness and lack of immersion. However, this did not happen. Yes, the movie is set in an outlandish space, which on a surface level we have no relation to at all but the themes explored in the film are arguably universal human feelings, which give the movie its heart. I also found it hilarious at some points.
One of these themes is identity. I feel like most people (especially in an era where we are swarmed by social medias, which often makes us feel inadequate and ugly) can relate to the feeling of tying our identities to a specific part of ourselves in order to be loved or liked or respected. Obviously, the film focuses more on Barbie so we mostly experience what it’s like to be a women and live in a world where our appearances are forced to be our identity. Women are told through media and men that how we look defines how successful we are, how respectable we are and how lovable we are. It’s sad and Barbie does such a good job at expressing this complex feeling most women are tuned into and also providing an entertaining and optimistic film to watch.
Now, Ken (Ryan Gosling) is also allowed his share of exploration and emotion. He too ties his identity to a specific superficiality. The attention he gets from Barbie. He exerts himself doing stupid things (such as incessantly flexing his muscles) because he thinks that if Barbie likes him, and he is a strong, masculine man then he has won life. This should be his aim. The film educates Ken as we lead up to a climactic moment where he realises that what makes him his own man isn’t the love of a woman or his beach body abs but something else. We learn from Barbie that Ken needs to find his own identity and it is something that is done alone. It is an emotional moment as (for me at least) we resonated with both the dolls deeply. I’ve felt rejected and ugly and I have based my importance and value as a human on my appearance and how men view me but now I know that the essence of humanity isn’t a measurable unit appertaining to the way others view you, but what we value and what we feel and what we choose to do with our lives.
Barbie learns that she doesn’t want or benefit from perfection but she wants to be imaginative and help young people who also feel confused about their identity and confused about their place in the world. Together, we go on a journey which essentially takes us from our learned, cultivated belief that who we are is in the hands of others to the more truthful and peaceful belief that we decide who we are and what we want to be and we shouldn’t be persuaded to feel powerless, pointless and valueless due to our appearance.
It’s funny, energetic and emotionally impactful (with the iconic moment where Barbie meets the brand’s creator - Ruth Handler - in a sentimental and moving scene. The background has cascading, soft lighting and a close up of the pairs’ hands touching is used to add such significance to the dialogue and such heart to the scene).
I think Greta Gerwig created a film where I can enjoy it and also go through a cathartic experience as my deepest anxieties and upsets about the world are portrayed and validated. And I still felt happy rather than worried or cynical when it was over so I love this film.

Out of masochistic curiosity, I am staring at JKR’s latest mystery tome (The Ink Black Heart), and might have to quit at chapter 2. It is so sexist. Like -- look, I read romance novels regularly, I’m used to rolling my eyes and getting past gender essentialism and such. But this is another level. It is BAD.
Also I think she slipped an anti-German thing in there along with the rest? Already? But in any case, yeah, the misogyny, the gender essentialism, the general ick are off the charts. Though at the same time, it is very boring. When people say “show, don’t tell,” they mean don’t do this.
Um yeah anyway I’m going back to the romance novel I was complaining about, it’s far better in literally every way and the writer seems to be a decent person as well.

Just saw a post saying something along the lines of “we need to bring back the early 2000’s playboy bunny aesthetic every aspect of their appearance is so perfect and thought through not a hair out of place🥺” like I hate to say it but yeah. Every aspect of their appearance was compartmentalized and tailored specifically to appeal to the horny chauvinists that that era was crawling with. like sure the pink and the sparkly and the y2k of it all is fun and appealing if you completely ignore the fact that that specific slice of culture was like. The all time peak of the objectification of women. The level of misogyny was just off the charts and completely mask off. Idk I see pictures of the playboy bunnies come across my dash now and then and they are all fucking dead behind their eyes. :(

bihet. stop lying about being bisexual when you ONLY date dicks. seeking male validation. semen swallowing 3 hole
Some of the worst sexual harassment I’ve ever experienced in my life has been from other sapphics, it’s actually insane. The level of internalized misogyny here is off the damn charts. It’s giving major porn-sickness.
I dated a LOT of women this past year but I fell for the person who treated me the best and wanted the same things in life, I’m not concerned about gender or race or whatever else.
I had women literally tell me “bi women are not worth committing to so it’s a shame you don’t do hook-ups because I was hoping to take you home.” Even after convincing me to go on the date by lying and telling me they were looking for serious commitment only as well.
I’ve never let a man have sex with me who wasn’t obsessively in love with me because men are a bigger risk, but I let women use me for sex hoping they’d like me if I gave them what they wanted.
Their bi-phobia just lead them to resent me for being bi and want to use and discard me like a typical misogynistic male would. Porn-culture is ruining the way women treat women too now and it’s fucked.
You are a pervert and a loser and you will never be happy if that’s the way your rotted-out little brain works. Have the life you deserve.

That’s proof of potential right there. You don’t have to like her character but acting like she was nothing special is a bald faced lie and you’re only looking bitter when you’re belittling her impact and significance.

The anon saying that Charles and Charlotte will probably break up... I agree. Tbh I have the feeling that 2022/2023 will make them or break them. Like, she just graduated from college (I think?), so that in itself is a change in her life. Charles is getting more famous now that Ferrari is back competing, so his professional life is changing a lot and it will definitely affect his personal life... Their relationship give me an off vibe since the very first moment, because I've followed the whole drama in 2019. I decided to mostly not be judgemental with Charlotte due to the fact that wags always get a lot of hate and she was very young. But three years have come and gone, and I still get an off vibe from her. Especially because she's not that close to his family. She's part of his group of friends. That's quite different from when he dated Giada... Like, Canada? He brought his whole family and his family close friends there to support him? And she was having a spa day with her sister in Monaco? And he's always like "now I'll spent some time with my friends and girlfriend. Then I will spent some time with my family". They've been dating for three years now, it's just odd how she's not that close to his brothers and mom.
Besides that she's just very weird on social media. I don't even care that much about her ads on race weekends. The thing that irks me the most is her timing when it comes to post things about their relationship. Bad weekend? She's posting pics with him two days later, because she's such a supportive girlfriend. Gossip about him out and about in some party? Two days later she's posting pics with him, because look how in love they're with each other... I laughed when she posted that shirtless pic of him after the whole mess in Monaco. It's exhausting to watch really. I don't know what she's trying to prove with that. I guess I just don't understand why she needs to show people that their relationship is fine...
And let me share some tea about Giada. I get that many people try to turn her into a victim, and we'll never know for sure wtf happened between her, Charles and Charlotte (although Giada did say that there was no cheating involved in the whole situation), but after Charles and Charlotte were official, Giada started liking a lot of shit on Instagram and so did her family. Her cousin was shady af, basically said that all girlfriends of F1 drivers are sluts (kinda ironic if you ask me, cause hey, Giada dated a F1 driver??). It was not pretty, especially because they were slut-shaming the other girlies a lot, and of course that made people feel brave enough to harass Charlotte and Charles. After that most of the wags that used to follow her decided to unfollow her. I don't think many people know that, since it was mainly a thing in the italian side. But yeah, people try to make her look so classy and yada yada, but she's really not. That girl suffers from a somewhat embarrassing internalized misogyny...
ohhh the whole kettle of tea is here! 🫖🫖 thank you for the Giada insight I did not know that & that’s pretty unfortunate it go to that level after the break up, things always get messy when you’re heartbroken and start to post online. How do they write like a million essays how evil Fhaergus region is? But they never realize the first crest noble of Fodlan was the King from the North Nemesis. Not Rhea or the priests who aren’t even nobles. Like this level of density is off the charts. They chose Nemesis to be the final boss of the lore route for a reason lol.
Plus, most of Faerghus' "bad shit" is either nonexistent or exaggerated based on what characters from there say about it. People hear "Faerghus children learn how to swing swords as children" and they take it as "Faerghus is a shithole that thrives on violence and murder". People hear "Ingrid gets many marriage proposals because her house is relying on her for their future" and they take it as "Faerghus is an environment that cultivates toxic masculinity and misogyny".
Never mind the fact that the Blue Lions (and all the students at Garreg Mach) have some serious maturing to do, but Adrestia is so much fucking worse. The empire won't let women with Crests keep their noble houses, Mercie's dad wanted to marry her, both Dorothea and Mercie were thrown out once they were deemed useless, they keep Petra hostage and Brigid a vassal state, Bernie's dad is abusive and cruel, etc.
Besides the genocide and xenophobia towards Duscur, there's no problem in Faerghus that measures up to how awful the Empire is. Not even the Crest succession/value is unique to the Kingdom.
People in the 3H fandom throw around complicated ideas like "toxic masculinity" to get woke analysis points without actually taking the time to consider whether their theory stands in the first place.

Some of those prompts are so funny! Can you please write this one for Flip or a Kylo AU? It’s hilarious!
“I may be loves bitch but at least I’m man enough to admit it.”
A/N: This silly little something is completely inspired by chatting with my dear friend @safarigirlsp !
2k, Flip chugging his respect women juice aka being his wife's #1 fan (he's a lil confused but he's got the spirit) cw: lowkey 1970s misogyny
Tumblr media
Flip’s about ready to bang his head on the fucking desk in front of him from frustration, when he hears it. Those magic words that somehow get him through the day, each and every day, when the hours drone on and on and on at the station, when he feels like he’s been there for six years instead of only six hours.
In the habit that he and Ron have built up ever since being desk neighbors in the narcotics unit’s special glass office, Ron has finally come around and saved him from sudden death by boredom, by slapping a hand on Flip’s shoulder and happily announcing, “Present for you in the lobby.”
“Shit it’s already lunch?” Perking up at once, Flip shoves himself away from his desk, sparing a glance to his watch and seeing that it was in fact noon. He doesn’t even bother to push his chair in as he weaves through the other desks in the office on his way to the door, stopping himself before practically bolting to ask, “Thanks Ron, you stickin’ around? She said she was bringing stuff over for us.”
Ron only nods, knowing that Flip wants to get to you as quickly as possible, and so he spares him the conversation so that the detective can do just that.
You’re beautiful, as you always are, in the lobby of the CSPD. Currently chatting away with one of the secretaries at the front desk, you’re dressed in that new outfit Flip likes so much, your hair done up all pretty and fashionable. Instantly, his day is made better just by your being here -- something that he’s grateful for, because his day had been pretty fucking trying up until this point.
“Hi honey!” You catch sight of him, face lighting up, and Flip can’t resist a smile when you’re so happy to see him like this.
His cowboy boots take him across the lobby and into your arms, and he’s immediately taking the weight of the basket that you’re carrying out of your hands, placing it gently on the floor so he can squeeze you tight with a hug and a kiss.
“Hey ketsl, aren’t you a sight for sore eyes.” He pats your ass lovingly, before picking up the basket and leading you through the lobby back towards the rec room.
“Right back at you handsome, I hope you’re hungry, I brought you the biggest roast beef sandwich I could possibly make.” You wink at him, and like clockwork, his stomach growls, making him chuckle a little.
“You’re a fuckin’ miracle and a half, I’m starvin’ -- ”
Suddenly, you stop with a frown, looking through the little window of the door to the conference room as you pass by it.
“What’s going on in there?” You ask, pointing your thumb in the room’s direction, and Flip doesn’t know what you mean.
“Huh?”
“Is there a meeting that you’re missing?” You ask, and Flip frowns then, because he doesn’t think so anyway.
But save for Jimmy and Ron, it looks like the entire narcotics unit is crammed into the conference room, along with a handful of rookie cops, homicide detectives, janitors, and even some of the press. They’re all watching someone draw a big graph on the black board, the unmistakable sound of chalk squeaking punctuating the speaker’s passionate presentation.
“No, Chief would’ve said something...oh for fuck’s sake.” It takes Flip two seconds to recognize what’s on the chart, and immediately he’s shaking his head.
It’s a line graph, the Hot-Crazy Matrix, this new thing that’s got all the men in the country thinking they know everything about women. The gist is the hotter a woman is, the crazier she gets, and everything about it rubs Flip the wrong fuckin’ way, especially when he presses his ear against the door and listens in on what they’re actually saying.
“...If you find yourself in the Fun Zone, your main goal is to move out of the Fun Zone to a more permanent location.” “Now above the ‘crazy’ line, we have the Danger Zone. This is your redheads, your strippers, uh, anyone named Tiffany -- ”
“Hairdressers!” One of the men from the back of the room shouts.
“Yes, hairdressers, this is where your car gets keyed, your tires get slashed, and you wind up in jail. At this point you have to understand that this is not a static environment. This is a situation where you have got to use this matrix over time to develop some relatable data. At any moment in time, any woman that you have previously located on this chart can vanish, and reappear anywhere else on the chart.”
“Let me break this up really quick -- ” Flip reaches for the door with a dark scowl on his face, but you put a hand on his arm to stop him.
“No.” You look at him with wide, playful eyes, “No I think we should sit in on it, see what they say. Cause a little trouble.”
Flip loves the way you think, and with a sigh, he makes sure you stay behind him as you both slip through the door, unnoticed with how quiet you are. All eyes are on the blackboard as the speaker -- a greasy looking beat cop -- draws a line on the chart.
“Now, above an eight ‘hot’ and between a seven and a five ‘crazy’, this is your Wife Zone. When you meet this girl, you should consider a long term relationship. And if you find a woman who is below a five crazy, and above an eight hot, this is your Unicorn. We call them that because they do not exist. If you happen to find one, please uh let us know, we’d like to study it and try if we can, to replicate it.”
There’s a round of laughter from the crowd, and Flip can feel your hand tense in his own. He’s practically unable to hold himself back, when the cop finally sets down the chalk, dusts off his hands, and regards the room as someone else turns the lights back on.
“Anyone have any questions?” The cop asks, and Flip’s clearing his throat before he knows what he’s even doing.
“Yeah, hi.” Drawing all attention to him, Flip puts his hands on his hips, towers tall above all the other men in the room by at least three inches, and deadpans, “Have any of you actually spoken to a woman before? I mean, for longer than the two minutes it takes for them to reject you.”
That’s clearly not what the men in front of him were expecting, because they just blink, slackjawed like the morons they are.
“What?” The speaker asks, caught off guard.
Flip sighs, lights up a cigarette and crosses his arms over his chest, puffing out a big intimidating cloud of smoke.
“Show of hands, who here is married?” He waits, and predictably, no one comes forward. He knows this, because he knows all the married couples at the station. You make it a point to know them, anyway. “Okay then, well, who here has a girlfriend? Who here has ever had a girlfriend?”
Still no hands, and maybe Flip shouldn’t be surprised, the kind of men that believe this shit are the kind of men that either wind up alone or abusing poor women that they can manipulate into staying with them, and Flip doesn’t have the time or energy for it much longer.
“Interesting.” He muses, having made his point while the room murmurs amongst themselves.
One particularly stupid cop makes the mistake of trying to be a tough guy, some pipsqueak five-foot-four wannabe wrestler speaks up from near the front of the room, “We don’t need your condescending bullshit, okay, Zimmerman -- ”
“And women don’t need your bullshit charts splitting them into categories of fuckable or not, and yet here you are.” Flip cuts him off, and you feel a sense of pride blooming in your chest. Flip is a good boy, it’s why you married him after all.
“You’re only saying that because your wife is standing right next to you.” The cop tries to push his buttons, and maybe it’s because Flip hasn’t eaten yet, but anger itches up his spine, and soon the crowd is parting like the Red Sea, for Flip who is gunning straight for him.
“Oh yeah? How’d you think I got my wife you piece of shit? Because I promise it wasn’t by treating her like some shiny object to win.” Flip grabs the cop by the front of his uniform, and hoists him clean off the floor so that he can pull him up to eye level.
“Well then maybe you got lucky and married the only woman in Colorado Springs who isn’t a huge bitch.” The cop doesn’t know when to quit, does he?
“That’s not fucking true, my wife is a bitch and I love her for it.” Flip’s temper flares, and he’s about to raise his fist to punch this guy in the face, when he hears your voice from across the conference room where you’ve been watching with an amused smile.
“Flip, come on let’s go eat, lunch is getting cold.” You say, even though technically the sub sandwiches were supposed to be cold anyway. They don’t need to know that though.
Flip drops the schmuck, lets him fall to the floor with a thud, and walks towards your outstretched hand. Apparently that’s funny to the guy, because he slaps his knee and scoffs with a dry laugh.
“See? You’ve gone soft from love. Maybe we’re better off without it.” He tries to get the other guys to chime in, but they at least know what’s good for them, and instead just scratch the back of their necks, averting Flip’s gaze.
“I may be love’s bitch but at least I’m man enough to admit it.” Flip places his hand in yours, and you give his palm a tight reassuring squeeze. Looking down at you sweetly, he flicks the ash of his cigarette onto the floor and holds the door open for you leaving the conference room with a patronizing, “And at least I have a damn good woman to come home to. You losers enjoy your pity party.”
Finally in the rec room, you and Flip relax with Ron and Jimmy, your CSPD boys enjoying the big sub sandwiches you made and brought over. The little excursion in the conference room ate up only about fifteen minutes of Flip’s lunch hour, something that you and your husband are happy about. He’d be pissed off if he wasted any more time than that.
Everyone enjoyed the sandwiches and bottles of pop, most especially your Flip, who happily sat you down on his lap and wound his arms around you, feeling extra possessive.
“Out of curiosity, where in that chart would you put me?” You ask Flip, expecting him to take a couple moments to mentally weigh his options.
To your unamused surprise, Flip, Ron, and Jimmy all unanimously answer just about as soon as you’ve finished asking the damn question, not one of them even bothering to swallow their sandwich first before replying, “Danger Zone.”
“Hey!” You smack Flip’s chest with a scoff, and Ron and Jimmy immediately break out into laughter.
“You asked.” Jimmy points out with a shrug, just lucky that he’s out of your reach, lest he get smacked too. Ron also dips out of the way, but it’s only a moment later that Flip’s got his hold on you tighter, preventing you from swatting at your friends.
Flip holds you and kisses all over your cheek, his goatee tickling you as he presses his face against yours, nuzzling his nose against yours sweetly even though he’s basically just called you crazy.
“I married you anyway, didn’t I?” Flip’s big brown eyes try to sweeten the deal, and as much as you want to give him a hard time for being such a dork, you have to admit that it works.
“Thin ice, Zimmerman, thin ice.” You shake your head playfully, relaxing into Flip’s embrace a little as he settles you properly onto his lap again from where you were a wiggle worm, squirming away.
“You love me.” Flip smiles.
And despite it all you have to roll your eyes and grin because, “Yeah, I really do.”
