i want to write something

that makes you feel

seen and known

when you feel alone

i wrote a new poem a few weeks ago called, ‘I Want To Write Something.’

yes, i am very creative with titles.

throughout this poem i share what it is that i want to write.

it’s not the most serious poem.

i talk about Ray Romano and Harry Potter and pancakes.

it’s all over the place, but it feels like the poem i’ve been trying to write for years and the words finally found themselves on the page.

and i would have never written this poem if i never started writing.

when i first started writing poetry, i tried to write like Levi the Poet. He was one of the only spoken word poets i knew of and i wanted to do as he did.

i started writing and soon found out that i wasn’t Levi.

but if it wasn’t for him i would have never started writing.
