This book was about the Blizzard of 1978 and how one man’s action led to a series of events.
Very well written and easy to follow without nautical knowledge.  I felt part of the story and it was hard to put down.  Gives an excellent perspective of what happens during a bad storm and ocean rescues.

This book is about 4 girls who get pregnant underage and what they go through during their pregnancies during the 70′s.
Very well written and I really enjoyed how the four lives were intertwined by the end.  It put a lot of perspective that unplanned pregnancies have nothing to do with race, culture or means.

Generations of baking and making memories at the bakery until the tradition is broken.  Going off with a band and trying to find a replacement for the bakery.  Instead, everything took a turn into a romantic ending.
The book was not the best that I’ve read, but I loved the twist of addition of romance and friendships.  I was a bit confused in the beginning but caught up and ended up really enjoying the story line.  Very unique plot that I’ve never seen before or read in my experience.

A group of three best friends, Agnes, Moira, and Boone are finishing their sophomore year of high school.  Agnes has progeria, a disease that causes her to age a a faster rate than others.  She only has 100 days left to live.
I thought the book was good because each chapter was from the point of view of one of the friends, so the reader can understand how each character feels.

Fridtjof Nansen and twelve of the best explorers aboard the Fram are trying to make it to the North Pole.  But when they start to drift off course, Fridtjof tries to make it by foot!
I thought this was an encouraging book for all who want to explore.  I thought this was a great book for either entertainment, education or research.

Travis finds an abandoned baby squirrel;  he keeps it but his mother is hesitant about Fluffy the squirrel living in the house.  Will Fluffy end up living outside or with Travis?
I thought the book was fantastic, though it was short.  I am an animal lover myself and would love to find a baby squirrel.

This is a story of two best friends going through their life as lesbians.  While they fall in and out of love with each other and others, they find it hard to live knowing that they both like the same couple of people.
I honestly didn’t enjoy this book.  The “slang” was hard to follow and made little to no sense.  As much as I tried to enjoy this book because of the lovable characters, I couldn’t get the full experience.  It had a pretty decent story line and it would have gotten a better review if I could understand what was going on.

When Will and his brother go to visit Castle Menzies and their cousin Nan, he finds out that he can teleport into Menzie’s past.  But, Jamie gets stuck 500 years back.  Can Will and Nan get him out?  Or will Jamie be trapped in time forever...
I thought this book had an amazing story that keeps you craving more.  I think the most important part was when Jamie leaped through the time window, because all of the problems started there.

A freshman girl named Quinn just moved across the country.  Unlike she did in her last town, Quinn hides the fact that she has alopecia underneath a strawberry blonde wig.  Not even her new close friends know.  The only person who knows she is a bald teenager is a boy named Nick who has 2 less legs that she does.  Quinn carefully navigates her new school and new life.
It was different.  I feel like there are so many books about cancer and it was interesting to not only learn about alopecia but what it is to be/know someone that has lost limbs.  I also like that it takes place on the east coast, so it was easy to imagine the scenery.  Overall, great story and one to definitely add to the shelves!

Jack Montgomery is an officer in the Army, and is called to fight in WW II.  While fighting in Italy, his platoon comes under fire.  He bravely attacks the enemy and saves lots of American lives.
I think this book would be a good history book.  I also think this book would be appealing to someone who likes warfare stories.
